You asked for a sequel, I am now delivering a sequel.
Is is anywhere near as good as the first one? Probably not. It's a different vibe but a vibe none the less.
This story tells two different stories, both from Bobby's perspective.
The italicized is the story from when Dean left until when Sam leaves for his trip.
The not italicized is the story of them searching for Dean.
It's a weird format I know but hopefully it makes sense lol.
Anyway, please enjoy!

"It wasn't him."
Bobby rubbed a hand at his forehead, bringing the phone away from his face as he let out a relieved breath. "That- that's good, Benny." He said into the phone.
"The guy definitely matched Dean's description but it wasn't him for sure. Plus he shot himself on the left side. If nothing else Dean's very right handed."
"Yeah, yeah that's good. I assume you don't have any other leads?"
"I've checked every motel and hospital in this direction. Unless he ditched the Impala he didn't come this way. Or he's already in Canada. That even assuming he's still…"
The "alive" hung unspoken.
"I think I'm gonna head back now. Regroup, see if it's worth heading out again. But at this point…"
"If he doesn't want to be found he won't be."
"Yeah. "
"Just head back, maybe he'll come back himself."
"It's been almost two weeks and he hasn't contacted anyone. And the way he left man…"
"He'll be back, Benny. He wouldn't… do that. Not to Sam."
"Yeah well Sam's the reason we're in this mess. He probably thought he'd be doing Sam a favor."
"Dont."
"Fine, sorry. Sam still on that trip or whatever."
"Yeah, but he's calling everyday to ask."
"Oh, so now he cares."
"Guess we'll just have to see what happens. But I think he really is sorry." Bobby knew he had given Sam a hard time before he had left. But it really did look like Sam was truly remorseful.
"Yeah well a lot of good that's gonna do. It wasn't like it was the first time. What, is he sorry until he decides to do it again."
"We'll just have to wait and see how things are when Sam gets back. He didn't even want to go after everything."
"It's probably better he's gone. Not so sure I wouldn't do something that would put me in jail."
Bobby's lips twitched, "And what would Dean say if he heard you threatening his brother."
"Well he ain't here, is he? John left before I ever really got to say my peace. But John Jr. is stuck for a few more months."
Bobby sighed, he knew Benny was angry. He was angry. But Sam was a mess and Bobby had had to force him to go on that stupid D.C. trip. He'd told him that Dean had paid for it and he wasn't skipping after everything. He called every day asking if there had been any news. Bobby was tempted to tell him to stop calling, but he could understand the worry.
He was almost glad that Sam seemed so guilt stricken. That meant that he wasn't completely gone. John had never really felt guilty about what he did to Dean. At least Sam had that. And he hadn't touched a drop of alcohol since then. As far as Bobby could tell at least. But Bobby had started locking it up. He knew he should get rid of it all, but he wasn't ready for that kind of commitment.
"Just get back here. We'll figure things out from there."
Benny muttered a goodbye before hanging up.
This entire situation was a mess. Bobby hated himself for not stopping this before it got so bad. Before Dean got pushed over the edge. He should have said something after Dean had lashed out at him. He'd hoped that giving Dean his space would help him. But it clearly had just made things worse.
Benny had told him Dean's parting words. And it sent a spike of cold through Bobby's heart that he wasn't sure he'd ever felt before. It sounded awful like a goodbye. And a permanent one at that.
Within five minutes of disappearing Dean's phone had been shut off. They'd called around to hospitals and morgues but hadn't found anything. Which was good. But this… not knowing. It was killing them all.
If Dean wanted to go, he'd let him. He just wanted to know that he was still alive.

It was Friday night, so busy. If anyone else had asked off, Bobby would have laughed in their face and told them to be there early. But it was Dean. And Dean hadn't had a night off since Sunday, opening and closing every night. If Dean wanted all weekend off he could have it. He knew he was trying to get money for Sam's trip and that if he cut Dean off from working he'd just find other ways to make money. Might as well keep him close while he headed into a spiral. But he asked for his paycheck and the night off. Bobby was happy to oblige. His phone rang in his back pocket, but he was with a customer, so he ignored it. A moment later it rang again. Concern started to make an appearance but he nodded a long to the bar patrons' woes. When it rang the third time, Bobby excused himself to the back. All three calls were Sam. That was not a good sign."Sam?""Bobby? Bobby I screwed up." There was an edge of panic in Sam's voice that made everything else fade to the background."What happened, Sam?""I-I didn't mean anything. I didn't. I was drinking and I had too much and-""You were drinking?!" Bobby's anger momentarily overreached his concern. "Yeah, you screwed up Sam! I told you-""I know, I know. But that's- that's not what I-" Something that sounded concerningly like a sob broke on the other end.Bobby intentionally calmed himself, "Okay, okay, Sam. Just take a deep breath and tell me what happened.""I-I didn't mean to hurt him! I was just, just angry. And I think I wanted to fight but he wouldn't. He was just so calm !""You didn't mean to hurt who?" Bobby had his suspicion but he didn't want to think about it. Sam wouldn't… but he had before hadn't he?"I wasn't thinking! I just- I just threw it! I didn't- I didn't think it would actually hit him!""Sam!" Bobby snapped, "If you don't stop panicking and tell me what happened-""I- I threw a bottle at him. I was just so… mad. It's like I didn't even know I was doing it! But I-I really hurt him. And he was bleeding and I think there's something wrong with his shoulder- I didn't know it would hit him, Bobby!"Anger warred with the fear. This time the fear one. "Sam, where's your brother? Is he there? Conscious?""No, he, uh, he took off. He didn't say anything. Just… just dropped all his money and left. Bobby I-I think I really hurt him. And he won't, he won't answer any of my calls! I don't- I don't know what to do!""Just-" Bobby tensely ran a hand over his face, "Just stay there. Let me close up and I'll be there. Keep trying to call him. Let me know if he shows up or answers."There was silence on the other end."Sam!""Yeah, yeah, I- I will."Bobby didn't wait for another answer, hanging up the phone and turning back to kick all of his customers out.

"Any news?"
"No, Sam."
"Maybe I should come home early and-"
"And what, Sam? Sit by the window and watch for him to come back?"
"I don't-"
"You're staying. You've got another five days. You can sulk over Thanksgiving break."
"Do you- do you think he'll come back for it?"
"I'm guessing not if he still has his phone shut off." And they were still assuming that Dean wasn't at the bottom of some ravine inside his beloved Impala.
"Yeah." There was silence for a moment. "I just- I just want to tell him how sorry I am…"
"I think it may be a bit late for apologies." The words slipped out before Bobby could stop them.
A hitched breath at the other end of the phone. "You don't think he's alive."
And how the kid was just now picking up on that Bobby didn't know. Maybe he was just finally at the end of his rope of denial. "I think…" Bobby sighed, deciding truth was better than false comfort. "I think Dean has been teetering on the edge for quite some time and so when he runs out with an 'I'm sorry, thank you for everything' and then disappears for two weeks…" Another bone-weary sigh. "I don't know, Sam."
"Yeah." Barely a whisper. He cleared his throat, "Yeah, I should- I should probably go. Uh, call- call me if-if y'know. Even-even if it's bad news."
Bobby sighed again, feeling decades older, "I will, Sam."

"Dean, I don't know where you are or what you're doing, but just- answer your phone. Just let me know you're okay."
Bobby wasn't hoping for much. That was his fifth unanswered call. He was debating if he wanted to turn into the road leading to his house or to stay in town and look for the black Chevy Impala.
Before he could make a decision, his phone rang.
He reached for it, seeing the ID was Benny.. He should have thought to call him earlier. He felt a slight bit of relief at the idea that Dean was with Benny.
"Is Dean with you?" He said without preamble.
"He was. But he just took off. And I mean hightailed it out of here. And he wasn't… he's not in a good headspace right now. We need to find him."
Bobby's stomach sank.
"Was he okay?"
"He- was out of it, man. Barely coherent. Barely spoke for the first hour before he just- blew up and took off."
"He tell you what happened?"
"Yeah. John Jr. happened." Benny replied darkly.
Bobby felt he should probably defend the youngest Winchester but just couldn't bring himself to do it. It was true to an extent.
"What was the damage?"
"Dislocated shoulder, some cuts on his face. Had to stitch one in his shoulder. He shouldn't be driving."
"Hopefully he'll head back home or to the bar-"
"No. He made it very clear he was… leaving. Listen Singer, I don't say this lightly. We need to find him. Now. He… was saying goodbye. And it sounded awfully permanent. He hugged me, man. Hugged me and said that he was sorry and then said 'thanks for everything' and I- we need to find him."
Bobby was going to throw up. Bobby saw it. Dean had always been… not quite okay. But he'd always been able to curb it. Typically for Sam. But if Sam turned against him...
He let out a loud curse, slamming his hand onto the steering wheel.
"Maybe try calling him-"
"He turned his phone off."
"Then what-"
"He left from my apartment. My guess is he's going to want to get as far away as possible. Probably doesn't even know where he's going. I'll go north, you go south. Just pray he's not heading the opposite directions."
"Check… check bridges and things but also look at motels. Maybe… he just needs space."
"Yeah we'll see. Call me if you find anything." The phone was hung up before Bobby could respond.

Well, what do you think?
I hope you enjoyed it!
I know it's weird.
The biggest thing I wanted to do was to deal with Sam's guilt and Bobby's reaction to the mess.
Benny's there too just not a lot.
There will be two more chapters after this.
ALSO, just a disclaimer, DO NOT FLAME UNTIL YOU READ THE WHOLE STORY!
The next chapter will deal with things that might make some people mad but just please let me post the third chapter before you get all mad. It's happened in previous stories so I just want to make that clear without majorly spoiling things.
Anyway, please let me know what you thought!
God bless,
Jamie
