One month later, two men and two women were meeting at a tavern in Mistral as nighttime approached. One man had blonde hair, blue eyes, and the armor of a knight with a helmet on the table, the other had blue hair and wolf ears on his head, silver eyes, and a blue metal helmet shaped like a wolf's head on the table. One woman had black and red hair, silver eyes, and a red hood and cloak, the other had brown hair that transitioned to a caramel gradient, dark brown eyes hidden behind sunglasses, and a black beret.
These four were Jaune Arc, Lapis Lazuli, Ruby Rose, and Coco Adel respectively.
"We all know why we're here." Jaune said.
"Yup. Our teammates vanished without a trace a month ago and nobody has seen them since." Coco said bluntly.
"We need to find them." Ruby said then looked at Lapis. "Anything you can do?"
"I've got eyes and ears all over the Kingdoms. My contacts know to call me on burner Scrolls if they spot them." Lapis said.
Coco noticed the worry in the eyes of the Faunus and placed a hand on his, getting him to look at her.
"I'm worried about Velvet too. But we'll find her as well as the others."
He nodded. "Thanks, Coco."
She nodded back.
"Where were they last seen?" Jaune asked.
"Nyx said she got a report of some suspicious activity in Mountain Glenn. Since she was from there, I guess whoever gave her the report thought she was best to handle the situation." Lapis said.
"She must've called the others to give her some backup." Coco said.
"Then Mountain Glenn is where we start." Ruby said.
"Easier said than done. Shortly after their disappearance, Glynda and Ironwood declared the city off limits." Jaune said. "They and the other headmasters and Council members don't want a repeat of what happened."
"Leave getting clearance to me." Lapis said then walked a little ways away, Scroll in hand. He walked back to them a few minutes later. "I got us the clearance, but Glynda attached some strings to it."
"Who are we stuck with?" Ruby sighed out.
"Oobleck." Lapis said. "And since she and Ironwood were there with Glynda, Winter volunteered to help us out."
"Could be worse. And by worse, I mean old Pappy Peter." Coco said. "And we all know Winter would fight her way through a huge horde of Grimm if it means getting to her sister."
"We'll take what we can get, right?" Jaune said.
The others nodded.
"Then we take the next ship to Sanus and head to Mountain Glenn from there." Lapis said.
The other three nodded then headed to the inn upstairs and to the rooms they'd rented for the night. They got some sleep to set out early in the morning.
On Merlot's island as the moon became visible, Onyx was currently hiding behind a stack of shipping crates. Soon enough, she heard running footsteps approaching.
"She can't be far." Ren said.
"Agreed." Yatsuhashi said.
Onyx gulped then sensed some Grimm nearby and closed her eyes. "Help me!" She mentally called out. Soon enough, a handful of Beowolves came charging at the two men who fought them off and Onyx used the diversion to attempt another run...only to be cut off by Yang and Nora, who grabbed her which caused Onyx to struggle.
"Hunt's over, boys! We grabbed her!" Yang said in a singsong voice as the last of the Grimm dissolved.
Ren and Yatsuhashi were annoyed as they headed back to the entrance to the laboratory.
"Guys, please! You've got to snap out of it!" Onyx pleaded.
"Shut up!" Nora said as she punched Onyx.
The hybrid groaned then hissed at Nora as they kept heading back to the lab. Onyx, however, used her Semblance to dissolve into some shadows nearby and get away from the quartet.
In the lab, Weiss and Velvet were with Watts and Merlot, observing what was happening.
"Her Semblance is a unique one." Merlot said.
"It serves her well in terms of reconnaissance." Weiss informed them.
"Fascinating." Watts said as the four saw Onyx rematerialize near the docks, only to jump back as two gunshots almost hit her and she ran from Blake and Pyrrha, who were chasing her. Magenta, Ember, Fox, Yang, Nora, Ren, and Yatsuhashi soon passed the camera's view.
The next morning, Ruby, Lapis, Jaune, and Coco were on the fastest ship and headed to Sanus.
"Oobleck said he'll be at the docks of Vale in a Bullhead, waiting for us. Once we're close to Vale, I'll call him as well as Winter and let them know." Lapis said.
The three others nodded. A week and a half passed before the quartet saw the Vale docks in the distance. Lapis called Oobleck and Winter and told them they were about to dock. Shortly after the quartet got off the ship, the twin engines of a Bullhead were heard and they ran to it to see a man with blue eyes behind glasses, and green hair under a pith helmet, as well as a woman with white hair in a bun that was high on the left side of the back of her head, along with bangs along right side of her face and a small curled lock of hair down the left just above her shoulder in a military uniform waiting for them.
"Winter. Professor Oobleck." Lapis smiled softly.
"Doctor." The green haired man said with a frown. "And it's always nice to see the legendary Defender of the Four Kingdoms."
"The fuel's topped off and we're ready to fly." Winter said.
"Then let's hurry." Ruby said then all six got aboard and they flew to Mountain Glenn.
