Meanwhile, Onyx was in the lab and currently screaming in pain as black vein like markings covered her face, arms, and legs. Thanks to Weiss, Merlot and Watts learned that Onyx was venomous due to her half Grimm nature.

"May I ask what you have in mind for her, gentlemen?" Velvet asked as she watched Onyx scream and squirm.

"We intend to use her venom to make her more...agreeable." Watts said. "I added some of the chemicals I had left over to her extracted venom sample, but because I didn't have a lot to work with, her conditioning will be temporary."

Merlot soon noticed Onyx's eyes looked dilated while her expression was blank and he walked to her. "Can you hear us, my dear?"

Onyx nodded slowly.

He smirked and turned to the other three. "And she'll do whatever anyone says while under her conditioning?" He asked Watts.

Watts smirked. "Of course."

Curious, Velvet walked to Onyx and removed the restraints. "Stand up." She said.

Onyx slowly stood up, swaying a little on her feet.

She pulled Onyx close and turned to Watts and Merlot. "May I?"

"Perhaps after we have enough of the serum to keep her controlled. For now, let's wait for her to wake up and then have another nightly hunt." Watts said.

"Perhaps Velvet and I could join this one, Sir?" Weiss asked.

"That'll make things a bit more interesting." Merlot said.

"Very well. Take her out of the lab and gather your friends." Watts said then Weiss and Velvet did exactly that.

After a few minutes, Onyx began to come to her senses and saw she was outside the lab. She saw the moon was out. She shook her head and turned around...only to see her friends standing at the entrance.

"Guys, please. You've got to snap out of it!" She pleaded.

Yang just shot at her feet. "All we've got to do, Nyx, is hunt you down. So you'd better start running." She smirked.

Onyx just used her Semblance and disappeared. The others spread out and began looking for her. Onyx reappeared at the entrance. "I've got to at least try and get through to Ember or someone." She thought to herself then disappeared once again and began looking for Ember.

Ember was alone by the docks when Onyx reappeared and grabbed her then pulled her into hiding. The cheetah Faunus struggled, but ultimately couldn't break out of Onyx's grip.

"Baby, please...I'm begging you to wake up. Remember who you really are. I'm begging you." Onyx said.

"I'm wide awake, 'baby'." Ember said with a growl, wrapping her tail around Onyx's leg. "And this is who I really am."

"No. Watts brainwashed you. Try to remember."

Ember kept struggling but Onyx didn't loosen her grip.

"The others will find us!"

"No, they won't. The Grimm are keeping them occupied." She said as a bluff. "Em, please. You're not yourself. Fight it! You're a Huntress!"

That somehow got something to click in Ember's mind and she gripped her head with a crazed look in her eyes as her mind was overriding the brainwashing until she collapsed to one knee.

Onyx knelt down next to her. "Are you okay, baby?"

Ember turned to Onyx and hugged her tightly. "Nyxie, I'm so sorry! I could see you, but I couldn't stop myself!"

Onyx hugged back. "Shh..." She soothed, gently brushing her fingers through Ember's chin length red hair. "It's okay...We need to find Magenta and get through to her as well."

"Since she can't hear that'll make things a bit more difficult."

"But not impossible. I have an idea."

Ember nodded.

While flying over the island, Magenta saw Ember and Onyx fighting by the docks and began to divebomb down to them. Once the raven Faunus was close enough, the cheetah and shark Faunus grabbed their teammate and Onyx lightly bit Magenta's forearm, injecting enough venom to drain some of her energy and strength. Onyx then got Magenta into a full nelson and Ember stood in front of their friend.

"Mags, it's us. Ember and Onyx. We're a team. We're your family. You've called us your sisters and Lapis your brother!" Ember said/signed, showing them photos from Ember's Scroll of the four of them.

Magenta felt weak in her knees and Onyx let go as Magenta fought back against the programming until she looked up at her fellow Faunus.

"Do you know who we are?" Onyx asked/signed.

Magenta nodded. "Yeah. My family." She replied/signed then the three hugged each other.

When they pulled apart, Onyx turned to Ember. "What's our plan for getting help, babe?" She asked.

"Watts and Merlot might be monitoring comms on our regular Scrolls. Do we still have our disposable Scrolls?" She asked and they all checked their pockets and found a black Scrolls in each of their pockets.

"Yeah." Onyx/Magenta said in unison.

"Okay. It'll have to be a coded message to Lapis." Ember said.

"I'll handle that when I'm locked in my cell later on. I'm the meantime, you two need to make sure Watts and Merlot don't suspect you're back to normal." Onyx said and her friends nodded. The three soon broke off, headed in opposite directions and Onyx took a deep breath. The three women had stayed in the blind spots of the cameras at the docks to plan. So Onyx avoided the cameras and took off running.

It wasn't until sunrise that Onyx breathed a sigh of relief. Ember and Magenta soon tackled Onyx as the others rounded a corner and saw the trio.

Ember smirked at them. "Hunt's over. We win." She said.

The others were annoyed as Magenta and Ember hauled Onyx to her feet. They all began returning to the lab, Onyx struggling in her friends' grip to play into the act.

They eventually got back to the lab and Onyx was locked in her cell. Since there currently was no activated camera in the cell, Onyx pulled out her disposable Scroll and typed a coded message and sent it to Lapis. She then put it away.

"Please hurry, guys. I don't know how much longer I can hold out..." She thought aloud as the camera turned on and she curled up.

Lapis woke up in a hotel room in Vale to a text from Onyx's disposable Scroll. He opened the message and read it.

"92887 427 637568 4283 27246927433 843 684377. 4 37333 36237 263 6243682 3275437 263 93 273 9248464 367 968 4897."

Lapis smirked. "Thanks, Nyx. Now to tell the others."
