Chapter 11: More Secrets Revealed (Part 1)

Carrie and Phil heard Felicity sobbing when they came into the bedroom. Alana was on the bed trying to comfort her while Stachi walked up to her and meowed. "Lyssie, are you okay?" Carrie asked. Felicity nodded. Carrie turned to Alana and asked, "Did I do something wrong?" "No, honey," Alana answered. "You didn't do anything wrong." Alana and Phil both told Carrie that she went through a similar event when she was in her sophomore year of high school and Alana told her that Felicity can explain what happened when she's ready. "But right now, it's time to get back to bed. We'll all feel better later," Phil said. He and Alana kissed both the girls on the head. "Good night, girls. We love you," Phil said. "We love you, too," Felicity and Carrie said together. Before Felicity turned off the light, Carrie asked if she could get in bed with her. Felicity nodded and Carrie got in. Felicity sniffled and whispered, "I'm sorry I got so upset earlier, Carrie. It's just that when you were telling us about your dream, it made me remember this event that happened during the tenth grade." "It's okay, Lyssie," Carrie said. "Do you want to tell me about it?"

Felicity nodded and then poured out the whole story. Felicity told Carrie that when she was home with Lois while Alana and Phil were on their honeymoon, she heard her neighbors, Eric and Tracie, screaming their heads off during an argument. Tracie was an alcoholic and would always get into a fight over every small thing with Eric after she arrives home from a bar (which is right next to her workplace). When Felicity was about to close the living room window, she heard their two children, Connie and Noah (who were 10 and 4 years old at the time), yelling at both of them to stop fighting until their mother came up to them and slapped her daughter across the face. Connie fell face first and saw the blood coming from her nose and began to cry. Eric started yelling at Tracie while she frantically tried to apologize to Connie. Felicity, who used to be the children's babysitter, called for Lois to come and see what was happening and told her to call the police "...while Grandma was on the phone, I was beckoning Connie and Noah to get away from Tracie while recording the incident on my phone to give to the police as evidence. Then, before the kids could get in the house, Tracie looks over from Eric's shoulder and catches me filming. She stomped over demanding that I stop filming and tried to grab Connie and Noah, so I dodged left and right yelling, 'You are NOT taking those kids with you! I saw what you did and the police are on their way! I'm sure that the police will never believe you THIS TIME!'"

Tracie retaliated by grabbing Felicity's phone and throwing it into the bushes, knocked Felicity to the ground and started punching her. Felicity tried to get up, but Tracie grabbed her right hand, and then rolled Felicity on to her stomach and grabs her by the hair while knocking her head on the sidewalk. Felicity screamed, "GET OFF ME! GET OFF ME! SOMEBODY HELP!", as Lois ran out of the house with the phone still in her hand and starts screaming at Tracie. She then tells the dispatcher to hurry and get the paramedics over to the house. Connie and Noah ran over to pull their mother off of Felicity, but they were pushed to the ground. Then finally having enough, Felicity bites Tracie's hand, rolls her on to her back, finally gets up and ran to the bushes to grab her phone. The police arrived at the scene five minutes after they got the call and grabbed Tracie by the arms and handcuffed her. The paramedics arrived shortly after Lois took pictures of Felicity's bruises and Connie's broken nose. Felicity was breathing heavily when one of the paramedics treated her bruises. Another paramedic treated Connie's broken nose.

"So, what happened to Tracie and the kids?" Carrie asked. "Tracie was charged for assault and endangering the welfare of a child while Eric filed for divorce and full custody of the kids, out of the house and moved them to his mother's house after she was put in jail," Felicity answered. "I don't know where or what happened to them now, but I still hope that Connie and Noah are still safe and sound." "You are very brave, Lyssie," Carrie said. "I wished that my old neighbors would have done the same thing when..." Carrie stopped. "When what, Care?" asked Felicity. "N-n-nothing. Let's go to sleep." Carrie replied.

"What is it, Carrie? Come on, tell me, please!"
