Operation: B.X.M was set to initiate on the next day after Jean-Luc arrived to their school.
Later, the second recess of the day came in, Rusty and Jack went to find Chloe. At that time, they have to bring in the dalmatian because only three of them knew about how Mackenzie thought of Bluey more than a friend.
"Chloe!", Jack shouted out.
"Where are you?", he continued
"Over here Jack!", Chloe responded waving her hand.
Rusty and Jack then run towards Chloe.
"What do you both need?", Chloe said.
"Well, you know about Mackenzie having feelings for Bluey right?", Rusty responded.
"Um... Yes! He told me a few days ago right?", Chloe replied back.
"I know!", Jack said.
"What about that by the way?", Chloe added.
"Well, me and Jack are doing some plan involving Mackenzie and Bluey. Mind if you want to join us? It won't be bad, don't worry.", Rusty suggested.
It took Chloe a bit of time to have an answer. The two waited patiently until Chloe had an answer.
Later, she said: "Sure!"
This started to work. The operation was going its way.
After convincing Chloe to help them with their plan, Rusty discussed with them on how would this work.
"Okay so, this is how it will work:", Rusty said.
Rusty then added: "I wrote this plan when I was done doing my work."
Okay, first period to third period tomorrow, it will just be normal. First recess hits, we try to make Mackenzie feel better, only if he is still feeling bummed from today. If he feels okay, we can go straight away to playing with the guy. Maybe some cricket, sprinting and also tip. And if distracted, we blindfold Mackenzie. Chloe, if you can, you bring in Bluey, only her, and also blindfold her like the border collie. And then in the end we will try to force Mackenzie how he feels for the blue heeler. And that's it! That is how it is going to work!
"Oh my...", Chloe replied, shocked and amazed.
"What about Jean-Luc though?", she added.
Rusty responded: "Make him hang out with others like Lucky or Winnie."
"Oh okay!", Chloe answered.
"So its official? The operation begins to commence?", Jack questioned.
"Tomorrow, it commences.", Rusty responded.
The sixth period proceeded and soon the dismissal bell rang. Due to the fact that Jean-Luc came to the school by taxi, he has to wait for a while. Unlike everyone, who has cars.
"Okay, I have to wait for my taxi Bluey.", Jean-Luc said.
"You came by taxi?", Bluey responded.
"Oui!", Jean-Luc replied back.
Bluey later moves herself slowly towards the black labrador. Mackenzie caught the eye of the two sitting close, which made him more covetous and dejected.
Rusty, Jack and Chloe saw their gloomy friend walking to his car.
They just hope, that Mackenzie will feel better the next day.
Eventually, the next day came. Operation: B.X.M began to commence. The first, second and third periods were just proceeding like most classes. Rusty, Jack and Chloe were busy doing work like the others. Rusty's plan also involved a blindfold so Chloe bought two. Bluey, Jean-Luc and Mackenzie were present that day.
However, Mackenzie was more upset than usual. So making the border collie feel better was their first priority.
The bells ring, the three dogs waited for Mackenzie, who later ran out of the classroom.
Instantly, the three dogs ran after Mackenzie, calling his name repeatedly. This went on for three minutes until Mackenzie halted with an answer.
"What is it?" Mackenzie muttered.
"Nothing, we just want to see if you're alright!", Jack responded.
"I am clearly not.", Mackenzie answered back.
"Well, we can try to...", Rusty replied.
"How?", Mackenzie responded.
"I don't have a card, don't have someone that likes me and even my least favourite food on me today...", Mackenzie added.
Chloe felt terrible on how sad the border collie was. So, she gave him something he would not expect.
"You can have this.", Chloe said.
"What? Your pavlova?", Mackenzie replied.
"You can eat it, I insist!", Chloe answered.
This later made the border collie smile a little bit.
"Thanks Chloe.", Mackenzie happily said.
"Its all good!", Chloe proudly said back.
"So, after eating, do you want to play with us? You do seem a bit lonely right now." Rusty replied back.
"Sure! I would absolutely love that.", Mackenzie said joyfully.
So, their first priority was a success, the second one, trying to distract him.
The second part of the operation commences when Mackenzie plays tip with Rusty, Jack and Chloe. The game was fun as there was no negativity inside the border collie's mind surprisingly.
"You can't get me Rusty!", Mackenzie shouted, running.
"Oh yes I can!", Rusty exclaimed back.
Jack saw that Mackenzie was distracted.
"Chloe!", Jack beckoned towards the dalmatian.
"Yes?", Chloe answered back?
"Now! Blindfold Mackenzie!", Jack shouted.
Chloe rushed to the speeding dog, and held out the blindfold.
However, the border collie went past the rushing dalmatian.
"Ah! Excuse me Chloe!", Mackenzie said running.
After that, Rusty collided with Chloe, tripping her to the ground.
"Are you okay?", Rusty said.
"Nah, I'm okay.", Chloe replied.
"You were trying to stop Mackenzie just to put on the blindfold?", Rusty added.
"I was.", Chloe answered.
"Wait, where's Mackenzie?", Rusty responded.
Mackenzie was actually still running away from Rusty thinking that the Australian kelpie was still catching him. Later, he looked at the back.
But Rusty was not there at all, even going close. And then, he gasped.
"I think I saw him.", Chloe replied.
"Huh? Why is he standing there?", she continued. before becoming more perplexed.
"Let's see what's up!", Jack suggested.
Immediately, they all ran towards Mackenzie to check on him.
However, when they came to him, he saw something that he would never think of.
What Mackenzie saw will suddenly change the course of the operation rapidly.
He saw Bluey giving a daisy to Jean-Luc later hugging the labrador.
Rusty, Jack and Chloe kept calling the border collie to see if he's okay ; he did not answer.
The three looked the same way as him later becoming overwhelmed.
It took Mackenzie over a few seconds, before tearing up, running away.
"Mackenzie! Come back!", Rusty shouted.
"Agh! I have to get him back!", Rusty said afterwards angrily.
Rusty chased after Mackenzie repeatedly telling him to stop running.
Mackenzie stopped afterwards.
Looking at Rusty, he teared up, then crying.
"Oh no... Are you okay?, Rusty exclaimed.
No answer. Not even a single peep. Not even a single expression. It was strange. He was still sobbing.
Rusty knew that Operation: B.X.M failed.
Chloe felt guilty knowing that she had failed the whole plan. But she did not mean to.
This was terrible for the four of them, until someone came.
"Chloe? Everything alright?", Honey said.
"Nope, long story short, I failed something...", Chloe responded with guilt.
Honey was baffled. "Let me guess, your operation?", Honey replied.
Jack and Chloe were in shock. How did she know!
"I knew some bits of the plan because I was actually also wanting to join in.", Honey continued.
Up on top of the hill, Mackenzie left going down. Rusty followed him from behind.
Mackenzie suddenly said: "Thanks for being a good friend to me Rusty."
Rusty smiled a bit, later saying: "No worries."
When Mackenzie and Rusty went to the bottom of the hill, Honey did the unthinkable.
"BLUEY!!!!!", Honey shouted out.
It caught the attention of everyone including Bluey.
Mackenzie was so confused. "What the heck are you on about Honey?", Mackenzie said very confused.
Chloe walked towards Honey, giving her a pat on the shoulder.
"Thanks Honey.", Chloe whispered.
"Happy to help my best friend.", Honey whispered back.
"What's the commotion about?", Snickers said.
"Well, I have something to tell you all about Mackenzie.", Honey replied to everybody listening to her.
"Me?", The confused border collie said.
"Yes you.", Honey responded.
"But why did you call me?", Bluey said.
"Mackenzie has something to tell you Bluey.", Honey replied back.
It turns out, Honey was spying on the whole operation. And she had some tricks up her sleeve on how the two will get together one day.
Now, the operation was back in shape thanks to Honey.
Finally, stood the two dogs, one not ready for an answer, the other one ready to risk it for the biscuit.
"What is it Mackenzie? What do you want to tell me?", Bluey replied, confused.
Mackenzie never expected it. He wanted to tell her for so long but he was still so anxious. But now, being timorous is no use now. He has to do it now.
Knowing that she'll get more confused, he said this to the blue heeler. "Well, we've been friends for over 13 years. But I kind of want that to change. From us being 6 playing barky boats to us being 16 doing more hangouts, assisting each other and many more made me feel more different about you. So, I have to say that... I... I...
I like you Bluey!!"
Everyone stood in shock. Faces of surprise and shock were shown through every dog.
"He did it.", Rusty exclaimed.
"He actually said it.", Jack said in shock.
"Aw!", Chloe said.
Bluey blushed a bit. She turned back knowing that she had not expected her best friend saying how he felt for her.
She admitted with this: "I don't like you."
Everyone gasped with shock.
But then Bluey said: "I really like you Mackenzie!"
Mackenzie was overjoyed. He had never felt this elated since him winning the Speed Day competition.
Every single one of them, were in awe, even Jean-Luc. Indy, Judo and Winnie were crying tears knowing that their blue heeler buddy was a special somebody. The boys thought that it was unexpected but well needed.
Stood the two dogs, now admitted their feelings to each other.
Suddenly, out of complete nowhere, Bluey went closer towards to border collie, later locking their lips as they have their first kiss.
It was just unbelievable for them. Their lips separated for just a few seconds before their cheeks became red.
With this, they made everyone smile knowing that the two were now together.
In the end, Operation: B.X.M was considered a huge success.
After the confessions a week ago, Rusty, Jack, Chloe and Honey noticed that Bluey and Mackenzie hung out more often than usual. The border collie stopped getting jealous at the labrador knowing that Jean-Luc and Bluey are not considered together.
This marked the beginning of Bluey and Mackenzie's relationship.
