"I am trained in CPR," Nanny said, "Also I volunteered here for 3 years."

"That's wonderful," Annie said, "Of course… because of the circumstances we'll probably never leave our daughter alone and go out but we could definitely use help. Would you be willing to be a mother's helper?"

"Absolutely," Nanny said.

"We'll pay you… say $100 an hour, 8 hours a day, 3 days a week so that would be $2,400 a week," Chris said.

"Wow," Nanny exclaimed, "That's amazing. Most jobs I've worked paid minimum wage."

"This isn't like most jobs," Annie told her.

Nanny got a text on her phone.

"My mom's picking me up," she said, "See you soon."

"You don't like her anymore," Nick said, interrupting Chris' memories.

"I like her just fine," Chris said, "I have a major problem with the fact that my daughter is in hell."

"I understand," Nick said, "But she does deserve to be in hell, doesn't she? If she had pressed the brake instead of the gas the accident would never have happened."

Chris felt his anger rise but he managed to stay calm.

"And if the devil never tricked Eve into eating the forbidden fruit there wouldn't be a hell in the first place," he said calmly, "That's neither here nor there."

Damn, Nick thought to himself, This man is good.

"You must be angry at GOD," Nick said.

"I'm not angry at anyone," Chris replied, "My goal is to get Marie out of hell. That's all that's important to me."

"Still, don't you think GOD was unfair?"

"GOD didn't want Marie in hell. The devil did."

Three years later an almost four-year-old Marie sat on the sofa crying. She hated getting her blood taken and had to get it taken once a week. Chris took her blood

"Daddy," she asked, "Isn't there a way to take it without it hurting?"

Chris looked that up online and found a device for a needle free blood test called One Flow.

"I'll order it," he promised her, "It should be here by Monday."
