Chapter 1: Shattered Island
"Wowzer's, look at all these balloons leaving parking is gonna be a snap," said Flynn. "Their not just leaving. Their evacuating something is terribly wrong," said Hugo. "Ah, well, that explains the flying rocks," said Flynn as he landed his balloon on a wooden bridge. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" asked Flynn, as Hugo got out of the balloon. "Just go on Flynn, get to higher ground. I'll meet you on the other side of town," said Hugo. "Righty-o, good luck, Hugo," said Flynn as he flew away, "Master Eon said help would be coming. He said to wait here...," said Hugo. As the kids were traveling they saw a person by a windmill, "That must be Hugo down there," said Heidi.
Just then the children landed safely on the ground right in front of Hugo, "You must be the ones Master Eon told me about," asked Hugo. "Yep, that's us," said Mason eagerly, as everyone was concerned about what was going on around them. "We can talk about name's later, right now we have to help this village evacuate first," said Hugo. the group started to cross the bridge that lead to the town, When the kids reached the town the were greeted by a mabu with a pot on his head.
"We thought the portal masters were all gone, but looks like we were wrong," said Snuckles.
"That main road to the town is destroyed, and now the townspeople are trapped on the other side," said Snuckles. "Taking down that wall might help, try using that old cannon," said Snuckles, as the kids turned to see a cannon pointed at the wall, "Does anyone have a match," asked Riley, nobody replied of course they didn't. "Hang on, let me try something," said Heidi as she held out her hand, then suddenly a ball of fire had appeared in her hand, "How did you do that," asked Max. "I don't know, I just thought of a fireball and poof one appeared in my hand," said Heidi, "Light the cannon, Heidi," said Lisa. As Heidi lit the fuse, the cannon fired, blowing up the wall, and then all the villagers started to run away while thanking the kids. Then, as the kids continued on their way, they stopped when they heard a voice, "Hey, you guys are portal masters aren't you," said Rizzo, "Yes, we are," said Jessie, "Good we could use your help, can you grab that key and get us out of here," asked Rizzo. Erika immediately grabbed the key and opened the gate. Afterwards, Rizzo and some other mabu ran to safety.
As the kids continued to move on, they found another locked gate, and they searched and found the key. Then they came across another mabu, "Oh, I am so glad that some portal masters are here, we have a doodle of a problem," said Nort. "See, the bridge is out, and people are trapped on the other end of turtle gully. Gosh, I hope they're okay," said Nort. "Blobbers, over there, can't move that turtle. Can you please help him," asked Nort, "We can try," said Riley. As they approached, Blobbers said, "By Pythagoras's theorem, you kids are portal masters aren't you? Thank goodness you're here, I've got a big brain but really puny muscles. Could you please help me move this turtle," as they pushed the turtle the villagers started to run away from danger.
Then they saw another turtle blocking the path forward that was when the kids heard a voice, "Hey, down there," said the voice. The voice came from the top of a ledge, it was Flynn. "Name's Flynn, Hugo told me to meet you. Boy, you got here just in time," said Flynn. This made the kids confused, "I can see what's causing this island to shatter. Come here and I'll show you," said Flynn. "Use those bounce pads there super springy," yelled Flynn, but before they stepped on the bounce pad they noticed a path to the left. "I wonder what's down there," said Lisa, she then pushed the turtle to the left and walked down the slope to see a special gate. The others followed close behind, Lisa noticed that the gate had the same symbol as the symbol on her necklace.
Lisa slowly put her hand on the gate as it started to glow as the symbol on the gate had disappeared, and a path had appeared in front of them. Lisa then saw a floating gem with a picture in the center as she approached it she heard a voice, "it would appear that you have found a soul gem young Lisa," said the voice, it was Eon. When the kids saw Eon, he explained that a soul gem is the soul of a skylander, and depending on who was the master of the element, that master could summon that skylander.
To say that the kids were excited would be an over statement. The skylander had a symbol of a skull on it. That meant it was for Mason. As Mason touched the soul gem, he felt a surge of power flow through him, and he uttered a name, "Chop Chop," he said as a skeleton knight appeared from a portal made of bones. "That was awesome, Mason. You are so cool," said Jessie, as she jumped up and down in joy, but the children realized that they still had a job to do. As they stepped on the bounce pad, they were propelled up onto the ledge where Flynn was waiting.
"What did you want to show us, Flynn?" said Chris, that's when they saw it, a huge twister tearing through the island. "You see that twister, it's a big one all right but I got a plan, what we gotta do is.., whoa," said Flynn as a giant boulder was flying towards the group. "Jump," yelled Lisa. As the kids jumped, Flynn managed to get his balloon out of the way.
"That was close. It's okay. You guys go on ahead. I'll take her around and meet you back here later," said Flynn as he flew away. "Where are we now," asked Max. That's when they saw Blobbers on the other side of a gate. "You again, thank goodness, I'd gladly escape this raging tornado. But these monster gates are in my way, monsters always stake out their territory by putting up these gates," said Blobbers. "Then how we get rid of them?" asked Erika, "Don't worry if you defeat all the enemies in an area the gates will disappear," said Blobbers.Then, all of a sudden, chompies started to surround the kids. "What do we do," asked Riley, Lisa simply responded with, "We fight," she then ran up to the chompies and threw a punch, and then the others started to fight the chompies. When all of the chompies were defeated, the monster gate had disappeared just like Blobbers said. As they proceeded, they were stopped again by Blobbers, "These are elemental gates. behind them are great treasures, but they can only be opened a master of that element," said Blobbers. Lisa then realized why that previous gate had opened for her. It was the symbol on her necklace. Each of them had a necklace with a certain element of skylands.
As the kids continued onwards, Blobbers said that the Royal family was still there and that they were trapped behind a locked gate. They found the key and opened the gate. As the royal family made their escape, the group reunited with Hugo and Flynn.
"You all did it. Thanks to you kids, all of the villagers managed to evacuate in time," said Hugo cheerfully. "This is only the beginning. There are reports of terrible disasters all throughout skylands," added Hugo. "Yeah, well, there is gonna be another one if we don't get moving. That tornado is right on top of us," said Flynn. "Oh, right, we should get to safety. I'll explain everything on the way to the ruins," said Hugo.
as everyone crammed into Flynn's balloon, Lisa couldn't help but wonder who was behind all this destruction.
