AN: Sorry for not posting sooner. i've been in a lot of pain due to my leg injury and the meds that i'm on making me sleepy and i've also been having verdigo attacks which takes a while before i'm able to get up with out every thing spining around and my legs feeling like they going to give out on me. It will take weeks before things return back to normal of sorts for me. So since i'm feeling good today i thought i better post a chapter so here it is. Feed back yes please.
CH 36
Pete, Mike and Kate was talking to Steve for over a hour before they walk out of his office. Nikki had already got her bag and hat few minutes earlier and was waiting for Pete.
When he walk out she stood up picking up her hat and shoulder bag. So he walk over and pick up the roses for her since she was eating some white chocolates.
"Let's go home" Pete said
"Good idea. I'm in mood for a milk shake" she said as they walk towards the exit where Mike and Kate was waiting for them
"Ok we will stop off at a store to get one for you" Pete said smiling
"How are you feeling Nikki" Kate asked
"hungry but happy"
"what would you like for dinner" Pete asked
"I still got what I cook last night at home"
"what did you have for dinner then" Pete said in worried tone
"Hungry jacks" Pete smile
"Ok" they talk till they were down in the car park.
Nikki pass Pete her car keys so he could unlock the doors. They said there good byes to Kate and mike since they were walking further down the car park.
When Nikki and Pete got home, Pete put the roses on the bench then he follow Nikki up to the bedroom where they got change then return back down stairs. Pete went to get last night dinner out of the fridge and put it back into pots and put them on the stove since Nikki told he where they are.
She was sitting down on the bar stool drinking her milk shake while talking to Pete. He told her about what happen to him when he was captured by Walsmen men and what he had to do. Nikki listen to him while walking around the kitchen till every thing was done.
Then he turn to Nikki with a sad look in his eyes. Nikki got up and walk around the kitchen island and cup his face. "your alive Pete, you didn't give up as you said you knew I would of called Mike soon as I got your text message"
"I know Nikki, you did good as well" he pulled her into his arms for a hug.
He smile when he felt there daughter kicking him. When they pulled apart they kiss and rest there for heads together.
"what would you like to do after dinner" Pete asked
"Watch a movie on DVD then and early night"
"I like that" he said smiling
"Which one" Nikki asked while smiling
"Early night"
"Same here" they kiss once more. They talk about other things while Pete check on dinner.
After dinner they sat down on the couch watching a DVD with Nikki snuggling up to Pete side. After the movie they went to bed where they made love before falling asleep in each other arms.
The next day Nikki went to work while Pete went next door to talk to Heidi and Tom plus he rode his bike to the docks where he stop next to Hammersley since he was dropping off his uniform and picking up his dirty laundry from what he was wearing when he was caught by Walsmen.
Then he return back home to do some thing around the house as well catch up with his e-mails.
At the same time Flipper got a phone call from the hospital, she turn to her grand parents after she hung up
"Mac what is it" her grand mother asked
"It the hospital they need to see me"
"Every thing alright"
"I won't know till I go in and find out. I won't be long"
"Ok dear"
Flipper went and got her bag and keys then she walk out of the house and got into her car and drove to the hospital. When she arrived there she walk down to where the labs were.
"hi I'm lieutenant Fisher, Dr Gibson called me"
"Lieutenant" flipper turn around
"doctor I hope it good news"
"Why don't you follow me"
"Sure" Flipper follow the doctor through a door and down corridor and into the doctor office
"Please sit down" flipper sat down. While the doctor did some typing on her computer then she look at flipper.
"Mac is it ok if I call you that"
"Yes, what is it"
"there a match"
"Meaning"
"dose your grand parents had any other children besides your mother?"
"no why?"
"Well from your mother and your DNA there a match between your mother and male"
"How can that be possible"
"With what I check out your mother got a half brother"
"what are you sure"
"Yes... your grand father is the male biological father"
"Oh my god, are you sure" the doctor turn the monitor around and it showed the percentage between the two DNA. And coded numbers with it
"Ninety eight percent"
"dose he know, the guy"
"I have no idea, you should ask your grand father that one"
"I will. What about my father, any news"
"Yes there two who a match but they are father and son. I'm going to make some calls and track down the son and see if he got any male boys about your mother age"
"That would be great. Thanks for letting me know"
"Your welcome"
"I'm leave in couple of days for a two month patrol, you can contact me when I return"
"sure, that would give me plenty of time"
"thank you" they stood up and flipper shook the doctor hand before walking out of her office rather shock with what she lean.
When she arrived home her grand father was in the kitchen "Are you ok Mac"
"where grandma"
"Taking kids down to the dairy why"
"We need to talk"
"ok, what did the doctors say" they walk over and sat down at the kitchen table.
"Grand dad before you, grand ma and boys move here I went to the hospital to have DNA test done"
"what for"
"I want to know who my father is. The doctor she told me she found... three matches"
"three"
"Yes, one is... grand dad when you were over in nam did you sleep with any one over there" He thought about it
"Yes a nurse but that was back in sixty seven before I married your grand mother why"
"did she know about it"
"Yes she did, she forgave me and I promise her I wouldn't do it again and I keep that promise ever since why"
"Do you know the nurse name"
"Yes Jane Fuller, I remember her, why did you asked" Mac reach over and put her hand in his
"She got a son, your son grand dad. The DNA test shows it ninety eight percent. I saw the results my self"
"do you know his name"
"no but the doctor going to contact him. And one of the two other men"
"what do you mean?"
"It father and son. She know who they are, but she didn't give me there names. She going to contact the son to find out if he got a son about the same age as mum is"
"what no" he said in shock
"Grand dad why are you stopping me from finding out who my father is..." then her eyes widen
"you know who he is, don't you"
"Your mother told us and she ask us not to tell you"
"why, why doesn't she want me to know. Who is he grand dad"
"Sorry, I can't say"
"I have every right to know who my father is"
"I know you do, but your grand mother and I promise your mum that we wouldn't tell you"
"Dam you grand dad. I want to know who he is" flipper said yelling as she stood up and walk out of the house slamming the door behind her.
Pete who was checking the mail at the mail box saw flipper storming out of the house angry. He watch her walk up and down the porch till she saw him looking at her so she walk down the steps and path then across the road to where he is
"Are you ok flipper"
"You heard"
"door slamming and the way you were pacing, want to talk about it" she calm down
"It complicated"
"what not" flipper smile
"Ok"
"come on in for a brew and tell me what you you so up set" they walk up the path to the front door
"Family"
"I know what that like"
"True, but this is different" Pete open the door and let flipper walk in side first then he walk in and close the door. They walk down to the kitchen where Pete put the kettle on for a drink
"so care tell me what got you so up set"
"I'm trying to find my father"
"you don't know who he is"
"Only that he is or was in the navy. After I was assign to Hammersley I went to have blood tests done when I gave blood few months ago. I founds out this morning that I got an uncle...well half an uncle"
"Half an uncle" Pete asked as he was making them a drink
"Yeah. My grand father had an affair when he was over in nam with a nurse. She had a boy. According to the DNA tests my grand father is the biological father. Mum half brother"
"wow that is a shocker to find out about that"
"Yeah, but as for my father, the doctor said there a part match to father and son but the doctor going to call the son and find out if he got a son about mum age and find out where he is so she could get blood sample for DNA test to confirm if he my father or not"
"what are you going to do when you do find out who he is. Are you going to tell him"
"Don't know but I'll find out if he got a family of his own and is he happy first"
"Ok and the door slamming"
"My grand parents know who he is and they not telling me. Grand dad wasn't happy that I started looking for my father. I don't know why he doesn't want me to find him. But all I do know is that he and grand ma promise my mum that they wouldn't tell me who he is"
"Well you do have a right to know"
"I know"
"When will you know about the test rests once the doctors locate him?"
"When we return from our patrol" Pete pass her a cup of coffee
"Thanks"
"dose Dutchy know about you looking for your father?"
"Yes he dose, he been very supportive"
"Even though he not here"
"He is, in his e-mails, phone calls, Skype and even in person"
"Nikki the same when she was here and I was with mum before she past away"
"It good to have partners like what we got who support us"
"Yes it is" They talk for couple of hours.
Flipper was please she spoke to some one about her family. Even though he a crew mate who doesn't spread rumors. When she left Pete place she was more relax than when Pete invited her in for a drink and some one to list to.
That night when Nikki walk in to the kitchen Pete walk over to her and give her a hug and kiss "How was your day"
"busy, yours"
"i keep my self busy. I talk to flipper this morning"
"Oh about what"
"Family, she trying to find her biological father. But her grand father trying to stop her from finding him"
"Dose he know who it is"
"Yes, he and his wife promise flipper mother that they wouldn't tell her"
"that not right. She got every right to find him"
"I know. All she knows is that when he finish school he went to navy officer academy and she thinks he a lieutenant commander or commander that is if he still in the navy"
"Well there few of them at that rank"
"I know"
"I'm going to get change, where Nick?"
"Playing his video games in the living room"
"Pete" she gave him a look which made him kiss her again.
"He done his home work it was spelling and reading"
"Are you sure"
"Yes, he was reading while I was getting dinner on and I help him with his spelling"
"ok how did he go"
"spelling eight out of ten. I said to him that you will test him again tonight after dinner"
"Really"
"Yes, so why don't you go and get change while I'll dish up dinner"
"sounds good to me" they kiss once more before Nikki walk out of the kitchen.
Few days later Hammersley left for a two month patrol around Samaru islands as well being task to watch over the UN when the voting begins on the island.
There been no sighting of Ray Walsmen or any of the men that was with him but all the patrol boats in the area are keeping an eye out for any of his boats and it was on the news that there a warrant for his arrest for the attempted murder of Pete and funding rebels and mercenaries with weapons.
A month after Hammersley left for it patrol, couple of the lieutenants who working at NAVCOM offer to drive Nikki to NAVCOM since they start at the same time and they live two three houses down from her place. Since she starting to find it hard to drive cause of her pregnancy.
She excepted there offer as well others since they could see how big she was getting and notice the problems she has getting in and out behind the wheel. She keep in contact with Pete through Skype and he could see how bigger she is getting every week.
month later every one heard about what happen on the boat that got the vote officials and ballot boxes blew up in front of Hammersley and the crew finds out that they were staying for a few more days to help find and arrest Ray Walsmen.
