The next morning they saw Heidi who was hang out a load of washing so Nikki who just finish hanging out a load her self walk over to the fence "Morning Heidi"
"morning Nikki manage to sort your place out"
"Yes but who brought the bedroom furniture and silk sheets and duvet cover?"
"The bedroom furniture is from your brothers and family, the silk sheets and duvet cover is from Vicky since she got the voucher back from the police after the court case. mum took her shopping and that what they got you guys. That with green and red set as well"
"that would of cost more than five hundred dollars?"
"Discount from the owner"
"Really"
"Yep. So did you like the surprise" Heidi asked as she walk over to the fence
"Yes we did thanks"
"And what did Pete think of the sheets" Nikki laugh
"silky, he said if the crew finds out they would think he a big softy" Heidi laugh
"I bet"
"Good news is we got Nick a bedroom suite so he can move in any time but Pete and I decided that the bed you got stays just in case I have night shifts or get called in to do a patrol or two"
"that fine"
"thanks Heidi, you guys done a lot for me over the years"
"that is what families are for"
"True, I better get going going to drop Pete off on Hammersley and I start my shore posting this morning"
"Ok have a good day"
"thanks, see you this afternoon"

Nikki turn and walk back into the house to see Pete putting his sea bag on the breakfast bar chairs. "Ready" Pete asked
"Yes, I spoke to Heidi, it was my brothers and there families who brought is the bedroom furniture as a wedding gift even through we said no gift"
"It was them aye, and the sheets?"
"your mum brought them and the duvet cover using the voucher. My mum help her pick them out"
"Ah, now we know what happen to the voucher, I was wondering why mum ask me last night about the bedroom furniture and sheets."
"Yes we know who behind it"
"True"
Nikki walk over and pick up her shoulder bag, keys and hat while Pete pick up his sea bag. They walk out side with Nikki locking the door then they walk over to the garage as the garage door open. They both got in and Nikki drove out of the garage while Pete push button for the garage door to close. Then she drove them to the navy docks while talking.
Nikki and Pete talk about the bedroom furniture and sheets "Why mum brought them why not cotton?"
"Yes and I know why she did"
"You do"
"Yes remember when we were looking at different sheets set and we saw silk set, remember what you said to me" Nikki said smiling
"Yes I do, I remember saying to you that you look sexy wearing any thing that is silk"
"Yes and I think that is why she got them"
"I'll have to give her a call again later"
"don't be hard on her Pete"
"I won't"
They talk till Nikki stop next to Hammersley. They both got out as the crew greeted them. "alright get back to work you lot" Kate said
She watch Nikki and Pete hug and kiss before Nikki got back in her car and drove away while Pete walk over to the gang way smiling.
When Nikki arrived at NAVCOM she walk up to the ball pen to see Mike walking out of Steve office while talking to him. "morning Nav" Mike said smiling at her
"Morning sir" "Looking ford to your first day of shore posting"
"Yes sir I am"
"commander Marshal sir I'm lieutenant O'Brien, sorry I'm late sir " Nikki turn to the voice and shock to see it was the guys from the bar few days ago.
"Lieutenant, this is lieutenant commander Flynn, captain of Hammersley, Mike lieutenant O'Brien is your new Navigator"
"Lieutenant"
"sir" they shook hands then he turn and was shock when he recognised Nikki
"Lieutenant O'Brien, this is lieutenant Tomaszewski. Your replacing Nav "
"Lieutenant" Nikki said
"Ma'am"
"Steve we better go or I'll be in trouble with the X" Steve smile
"i under stand Mike, fair winds" He turn to Nikki.
"Are you ok Nav"
"i will sir, I know it will take time for me getting use to be here instead of being out on Hammersley"
"It will take time"
"Yes sir, fair winds" Mike and the lieutenant walk towards the exit. Nikki follow them then turn to Steve
"follow me lieutenant"
"Yes sir" Nikki follow Steve into his office.
Kate and Pete were on the docks, Kate was looking at her watch "don't worry X he will be here"
"i know and he knows what will happen if he late"
"I'm sure he will come up with a good reason"
"He better" then his phone rings so he gets it out of his pocket and saw who calling
"Hey sexy" Kate grin while shaking her head at Pete
"He left when... ok... yes... your joking" he said in shock
"Yes Nikki I will keep my cool.. yes Nikki I will Tell X the reason why he running few minutes late... ok... love you to... no why... ok see you in two weeks... love you to" then he hung up and turn to grinning Kate
"Reason why captain late is cause new navigator showed up late"
"He lucky"
"Who Nikki replacement of the captain"
"Mike is" she said smiling
"Yes he is, remember that guy from the pub the other night the red headed guy"
"Yes the one who try to buy Nikki a drink and hit on her"
"yes he her replacement lieutenant O'Brien. She told me to keep my cool or else" Kate laugh
"You will be ok"
"i know, here he is"
They turn when they saw navy car stop and two people got out. Pete and Kate watch and waited till Kate look at her watch then to Mike and the lieutenant who walk up to them
"Your three minutes late...sir" Kate said
"sorry X" she shook her head then turn to walk onto Hammersley.
"Good luck sir, you know what she like" Pete said
"don't I know it. Buffer this is Nav replacement lieutenant O'Brien"
"sir"
"buffer"
"buffer can you show him to senor sailor cabins"
"Yes sir, this way sir" they walk up onto Hammersley.
"sir why did you let the XO talk to you like that"
"Cause I let her cause I know she is right"
"more like you sleeping with her cause she hot" mike stop and turn to the lieutenant giving him the angry look
"Sir why don't you go and get change and up date the X about our patrol, I'll take care of the lieutenant. We know we got to leave port in five minutes and I know that you would be asking the X to take the ship out while you getting change"
"thank you buffer and your right"
then he turn and walk away Pete look around then he grab the lieutenant collar and push him against the steps that lead up and into the HRIB "what you said to the captain is uncalled for lieutenant. Don't you every talk to that captain or the XO like that or the X would have you doing tooth brush duties and the captain he will have you off this boat before we set sail. Got it"
"I'll have you charge for assault buffer"
"You do that... sir and you wont have one friend on this ship or any other, got it" Pete stood back letting go of the lieutenant shirt.
"another thing to sir. That women you were trying to hit on the other night at the pub, you met her at NAVCOM lieutenant Tomaszewski"
"Yes what about her, she looks hot and sexy in her uniform" he said with a smirk. Pete pin him once again with anger look in his eyes.
"Lieutenant Tomaszewski happens to be my wife your talking about" Pete said yelling in command tone then said.
"don't you ever talk about any female officer or sailor like that again sir" then she stood back
"follow me sir" buffer walk towards one of the hatches with the lieutenant behind him not knowing that spider heard and saw what happen.
A few minutes later Hammersley left port for it two week patrol. While they were heading north spider talk to some of the crew including charge about what happen. They were shock about what the lieutenant said to Mike and Buffer.
"spider if your lying" charge said
"charge I'm not, you ask buffer, boy he sure was piss off at the lieutenant. A lot worse than I've seen him piss off at any one and if the X finds out about what the lieutenant said to the captain. Boy he won't stand a chance against her"
"that true" one of the sailor said
That night buffer went to sort out his bag when he pulled out a photo with a stick note attack to it. 'Enjoy your cold showers till you come home to a nice long hot one with me cleaning every centimeter of you sailor' He remove the note and saw what it was.
It was Nav wearing the green barbie doll and lying on sheep skin rug looking up at the camera with a hungry look on her face he knows all to well.
Then charge open the door and walk in "Are you ok mate"
"Yes, Nikki in trouble when I get home" Charge saw the photo
"woo mate, looks like you going to need plenty of cold showers" Buffer turn to charge
"not a word" Charge close the door behind him and raise his hands
"you can trust me but you better hide it. But man you one lucky guy"
"I am mate and she is in trouble when we return" Charge laugh
"Good luck"
"thanks" Pete went to finish unpacking his things and put them away
"Buffer spider told me that lieutenant said some sexy comments about Nav and he up set the captain" Buffer turn to charge
"what did he tell you"
Charge tells buffer about what spider told him and some of the crew about what the lieutenant said. Charge look at Pete
"Is it true" charge asked
"It is" charge put his hand on buffer shoulder
"don't worry mate, you know I'll support you and captain"

The next morning word got around about what the lieutenant O'Brien has said to Mike and buffer. Kate was walking pass the junior mess with her cup of coffee when she heard spider telling some of the crew. She was shock but not happy with spider spreading rumors. She was about to put a stop to it when she heard
"spider you talk a load of crap"
"Hey" she heard charge voice
"It true, I ask buffer last night about it, it all true"
"if the captain finds out" another crew member said
"more like when X and Nav finds out that he said those sexy comments about them in front of there husbands" Spider said
"they would get him to scrub every toilet on here with a tooth brush" another crew member said then they laugh.
Kate turn and walk to mike cabin where she knows he would be. When she saw him typing on his lap top, she walk in and close the door. Mike turn to see Kate walk in and sat down on his bed looking at him

"i over heard in the junior mess that lieutenant O'Brien said to you the reason why you let me get away with what I said cause you sleeping with me. Is that true"
"what lieutenant O'Brien said. Yes it is true. But I did have word with him yesterday about what he said was out of line. How did the crew know?"
"spider heard and saw what happen"
"I should of guest"
"But what the lieutenant said to you about me is nothing what he said to buffer about Nav"
"what did you hear" Kate took a sip of you coffee then told mike what spider said.
She could tell mike wasn't happy so he pick up the phone and press a number
"RO page buffer to my cabin" then he hung up.
Kate gave him a look. "We will ask him if it true"
"buffer to captain cabin, buffer to the captain cabin" was heard over the PA system.
"So do you think I look hot" Kate asked while smiling
"more than that" mike said smiling at her. then there was a knock on the door.
Mike turn his chair around and open the door "buffer come in" Buffer walk in and mike close the door
"you wanted to see me sir"
"Yes there been rumors going around about what happen with lieutenant O'Brien yesterday"
"what rumors sir"
"About what the lieutenant said to me about X here and about Nav. I want to hear from you what happen" Buffer turn to Kate
"do you want to know as well X"
"Yes buffer" Buffer told them about what happen not knowing that the lieutenant was listening to what buffer was saying till he jump when he heard
"Hey why are you ears dropping on the captain cabin" he turn around to the voice when the door open.
Then he turn to see mike there "Lieutenant in here now" mike said in angry voice.
The lieutenant walk in to see buffer and Kate there. Mike saw bomber walk pass his cabin door "bomber" she stop and turn to him
"Yes sir"
"How long was the lieutenant standing out side my cabin for?"
"don't know sir I saw him listening to who ever you were talking to when I started walking up the steps sir"
"thanks bomber" then he close the door and turn to the lieutenant.
Bomber walk up onto the bridge to see some of the crew there "Captain not happy" bomber said
"Why that" charge asked
"Lieutenant O'Brien was listening to what ever buffer and captain was talking about. I yell at the lieutenant saying hey why are you ears dropping on captain cabin. Boy he jump and captain open his door telling the lieutenant to get in his cabin then he ask me how long was he listening it, I told him I just notice when I was walking up the stairs and he close his door"
"Sounds like we might be getting another navigator" RO said
"Yeah" Charge said.
Ten minutes later buffer and lieutenant walk up onto the bridge and went to there areas with out saying a word. Bomber walk over to buffer putting her hand on his shoulder which cause him to turn to her
"Crew know"
"You been hanging around spider to long" he said smiling
"May be" then she turn around and walk off the bridge.
"buffer are you going to tell Nav" Charge asked
"When I get home I will"
"good luck"
"gee thanks charge"
Over the two weeks they were busy with FFV and may day calls. The lieutenant was saying smart remarks about buffer, Kate and mike. When that happens the crew member tells them about what the lieutenant said.
The day Hammersley return back to port the crew looking ford to the next few days off. Pete smile when he saw who on the wharf, he miss her and looking ford to spending the next two nights with her. Once Hammersley was dock every one was finishing up with what they were doing till they heard foot steps and they turn to see who it was
"Hey Nav how your shore posting" spider said causing every one turn and smile when they saw her
"It good thank you spider"
then she turn and walk over to Pete warping her arms around his neck and kiss him the crew cheer them on. When they broke apart Nikki stood back
"Your mister are in a lot of trouble when you get home" Nav said in command tone with her arms folded in front of her which shock Pete and every one on the bridge
"what for"
"not telling me about what lieutenant O'Brien said to you about me" then she turn to the lieutenant and step ford with angry look.
"how dear you make sexes comments about me about other female officers or sailors in the arms forces lieutenant"
"what" he look at Nav in shock then he try to defend him self only to be pulled down not only by Nav but by Kate as well.
They both had words with the lieutenant and both threaten him with tooth brush duties. Mike stood there and watch what was happening till Nav turn to Pete
"See you at home" she said in angry tone then walk down the steps.
Every one was quiet not saying a thing "X my cabin now" mike said then they walk to the steps and down them
"Rest of you get back to work" Kate said.
"Woo buffer make what are you going to do" charge asked
"Talk to her mate" Pete said before walking off the bridge.
"thanks a lot lieutenant it looks like you screw up a marriage" RO said as he pick up his papers and walk off the bridge.
Then the others walk off the bridge shaking there heads at the lieutenant.
