Chapter 12: Praetor Jackson

Percy's POV

After the twelfth Legion had set me down Terminus had returned to his statue form,and the crowd started to disperse all that wasleft was Frank, Hazel and Reyna. She was looking beautiful especially after the battle. She walked up to me and reached her hand out and said "seems like I have a new partner" I just smile responding " Yep and you can't get rid of me for a while". She hugs me saying "yeah i couldn't have asked for a better co-Praetor." They pull away and Frank and Hazel both give him hugs before they all start walking around the city and trio was filled in about what had happened since they had been gone (namely Octavion).

Time skip

After Reyna had shown him his new Praetor house (Jason's stuff had been moved out) he walked to the senate house. There was a meeting and since he was now Praetor he had to be given his SPOR tattoo and sworn in. Once he got into the senate house he saw two chairs in the middle and Reyna motioned for Percy to sit in the one next to her. About a minute after Percy had sat down all the other senators and centurions gathered in there along with two people Percy didn't recognize. Reyna motioned a small girl forward who looked to be about 15 with blonde hair down to her shoulders with green eyes and a tan. Once the girl stood in front of Reyna, his co- Praetor announced senators and centurions after the loss of our augur Lord Apollo has replaced him with Aurora daughter of Apollo legionaire of the fourth cohort, she gave a small wave and went back to her seat. Next two guys stepped forward one Percy recognized as Michael Kahle from the first cohort and the other was a boy who Percy didn't recognize once the were front and center Reyna announced after the removal of Octavion his positions needed to be replaced, you have already seen the new Augur and now the new Primus Pilus will be Michael Kahle and the other first cohort centurion will be Thomas son of Vulcan he merely nodded at his new title. Second order of business Perseus Jackson was raised on our shields as Praetor so now he is to inducted into the legion Aurora walked forward and said some words he couldn't hear and flames fell from the sky on to Percy's arm but he didn't so much as flinch he needed to stay strong, Romans valued strength so he had to show them his.

The senate talked about topics that didn't really involve him until a messenger came into the senate house with a scroll he turned towards me and said "its for you" i unrolled the scroll and there was a video screen I looked surprised and all the people had gathered around me and looked just as surprised as the screen started talking saying " Hello Romans this is Leo Valdez son of Hephestus captain of the Argo 2. Me and a few of the othe leaders of Camp Half Blood will be comign to your camp in Peace I cannot stress that enough. We will be in a flying warship please don't shoot us down and just hear us out, but we should be there in a few days.

As we were all still shocked about this message there was a bright flash of light and there stood lady Juno we all bowed (even me I guess i'm learning some respect) then she spoke saying "Perseus Jackson would you like to share your story to the legion." I sighed allthe Romans in the building were eyeing me warily I chuckled saying " calm down im one of you now, and Lady Juno could you use your powers and just show them." She nodded and touched my temples all the people around me had surprised expressions on their faces for about a minute until the vision went away. I looked at Lady Juno and asked "what all did you show them." "everything except a few personal parts" and in my mind she said like your situation with Annabeth I nodded in thanks,before Reyna finally spoke up "you did all that." She said shocked. I laughed and nodded saying "I could not have done it without a lot of help, i really didn't do anything" he said. She responded saying "no we saw everything you can'tbe humble about this, You killed Saturn! Thats crazy and you don't take credit for that. I just nodded solemnly saying yeah I guess I did. Juno broke the silence saying good luck my Romans be strong before she disappeared in a blinding flash.

The senators continued to look at me in shock for a the rest of the meeting before it was dismissed. Once it was me and Reyna walked, we got some hot coffee at her favorite little cafe and sat on the banks of the little Tiber just leaning against each other. Reyna broke the silence saying "Juno didn't put everything in those visons did she?" I tensed wondering what she was getting at she laughed at this before calming and saying Venus showed me what happened. She didn't have to elaborate, my face darkened and the water started churning faster before she kissed him and he calmed instantly. When they broke away I was looking at her in shock and felt just the way I had before I had left and she said "I'm sorry, but shes going to be on that ship coming here isn't she" I sighed and nodded sadly saying "yes" Reyna asked "what are you going to do about her?" I responded saying " shes dead to me, she doesn't want me and I dont want her." I looked at her seeing relief and I leaned over and whispered "I have you and the Romans as my family. The only blood in me is my Mom and Neptune no Greek at all." I stood up and reached out my hand helping her up. Kissing her one last time and said see you tomorrow and we walked towards our houses in happiness.
