Part 2 of this to-be wild adventure!
Let's see what Cupid & Sympathy get into for this part!
3 hours after the search began...
"Sympathy! Any sign of her yet!?" I yelled out, first place we looked in was sub-conscious. This is sort of like a prison for all the rogue emotions or otherwise, ones that got complaints from HQ to long-term. Maybe she accidentally got herself here? I saw a mountain load of broccoli around the border whilst looking for her.
"Yeah, I'm hoping she's not here right now." I quietly said. In case one has been living under a rock, broccoli is Disgust's extreme nemesis. It even looked cursed! I nearly jumped seeing these figures.
"Sorry, I couldn't find her around here." Sympathy reported back. Well, this wasn't good. What I had originally imagined had happened was that she might've gotten caught in a mix-up from the mind workers for someone else, and then just sent there. Clearly this wasn't so.
"Well... maybe you don't know that, let's keep looking... she has to be here." I said in confidence.
"Cupid, I'm telling you, she's not here! I looked everywhere!" Sympathy responded.
"Oh please! I bet you didn't check where Jangles hides!" I responded a bit arrogantly. Just hearing Jangles's name put a frightened look on Sympathy's face.
"Jangles... as in, cursed clown?" She responded a la how Fear would've.
"Yup! Him! I ain't scared of him! C'mon!" I said back. Sympathy reluctantly followed behind, making it clear she didn't even want to go anywhere near that bastard clown again, however, she wasn't aware that I didn't fear that clown! On to the hideout we went to!
5 minutes later
"Cupid! This is a BAD idea! Let's just back away slowly!" Sympathy tried once more to get me to change my mind.
"No! Someone has to be in here that can help us, even if it's not where Disgust is hiding, we can get a couple of ideas on where to look." I said back. I wasn't about to let her chicken out so soon.
Inside this hide-out, there was just a sleeping Jangles.
"Okay, keep it on the low!" I whispered to Sympathy.
"What's that supposed to-" Sympathy started before realizing what I meant by that.
"sigh, sometimes I don't understand you..." I responded to that notion.
It took about 15 minutes, but still no sign of Disgust anywhere!
"Ok, still not a lost cause yet, now let's go!" Sympathy whispered a bit angrily.
"I was getting ready to leave!! What are you talking about!" I whispered back in the same attitude. However, we wouldn't be making it far before we heard an ominous voice.
"HALT!!! WHO GOES THERE!!!"
Hearing this, I got my bow/arrow from my back and got them ready in case there was a random rogue emotion back here that we've never met.
We gave this a minute, before it called out again.
"I SAID, WHO GOES THERE!!!"
"Okay, first off, WE HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME, second... I HAVE AN ARROW, AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO USE IT!!!" I yelled out, hoping to attract the voice. It looked like not much was happening for about a minute before the voice showed himself.
"Oh god!" Sympathy was a bit weirded out seeing this figure.
The figure appeared in a slight bit different shade of orange than that of Anxiety.
My arrow was still pointed at whoever this emotion was. "Alright, you've shown yourself, but who the hell are you!?" I demanded an answer from him.
Nothing.
"WHO ARE YOU!?" Sympathy yelled even louder.
"Whoa! Whoa! Relax guys! I didn't mean any harm! Anyway... I'm Curiousness! Must be nice meeting more of my kind." The figure responded.
"Curiousness... eh!? Well, why aren't you named Annoyance!?" I responded, still a bit stern.
"Oh... no no no, that's not me. That's Annoyance." Curiousness responded before a slight doppelgänger form of me appeared, only in a darker Maroon shade than mine.
"You shouldn't have said that..." Symapathy whispered.
"Also, I wasn't the one asking who goes there. Honest!" Curiousness responded back.
"Right! State your names, origin locations, and what you're doing out here!" Annoyance responded, him having a British like accent (no offense to the Brits), akin to that of Jason Statham. I already got annoyed by him, but still complied.
"Cupid, you don't have to do this!" Sympathy tried yet again to get me to pay no attention to them. But failed again. "Please! They might be of good use to us, you probably just don't know it yet! Let me handle this " I whispered back to Sympathy
"I'm Cupid, once a rogue like you, now I'm up in HeadQuarters, and I'm out here on a search & rescue for a missing HQ emotion!" I responded.
"HeadQuarters... huh? Mmm... interesting. What about you darlin?" Annoyance responded, directing his attention at Sympathy.
"Firstly, don't you "darlin" me! Second, why would you want to know who I am!?" Sympathy responded with a voice raise.
"SYMPATHY! I said I'll handle this!" I said back to her a la an angry parent.
"Apologies about that... that's Sympathy, she's still rogue, and has been her whole life." I responded back to Annoyance.
"Look, it's cool, m'kay? Bunch of toughies come around here all the time, it's fine." Annoyance responded before continuing... "Y'know mate, I like you the most Cupid, you're not like most I run into."
"Ooooooo... k?" I responded, all confused.
"Don't mind him, he's just a bit off the deep end, you know? He's just looking for someone to manipulate for life... anyway, y'all need help?" Curiousness responded.
"Actually... we were hoping you could... so the HQ emotion I lost out here is known as Disgust, ya know... all green appearance, has a neck scarf on her, the likes... we were hoping if you could provide any pointers as to where she may be." I said to Curiousness.
"Hmm... heard of her... follow us, we might have something for you two." Annoyance responded, and ushered us back to their cabin they kept out here.
Immediately we noticed the place looked sketchy, but paid no attention to it.
"Right then, have a seat over there, and we'll be back in a few moments." Annoyance said to us both.
"Uh, Cupid... I don't know about this..." Sympathy said in fear.
"Look, these nice gentleman at least offered to help us, just be grateful about it." I responded back to Sympathy, still keeping my positive energy.
"Yeah but... this looks like a goddamn sweatshop! I've read about them and they're TORTURE!!!" Sympathy responded.
"Sympathy... just find your happy place right now if you're that stressed... they said they'd be back in a few... don't rush them!" I said in a gentle manner.
10 minutes later...
"Okay... taking longer than usual, but whatever..." I said, still keeping my cool, however, my rage was a bit bottled up at the moment. Sympathy could tell I was bottling an emotion up, which is NEVER a good thing to do!
"Everything ok?" Sympathy asked me. I just told her I felt stressed myself. It got a bit to the point I wanted to know what was going on.
Annoyance was heading down the stairs when I asked this.
"Oh, congrats, you guys didn't know this, but you're actually gonna be my new henchmen!" Annoyance responded with a bit of excitement in his voice.
"HENCHMEN!?" My rage finally came out. "YOU LIED!!!" I finished
"Guilty!!!!!" Curiousness responded to that. "CURIOUSNESS!!! You said you didn't intend harm!!! WHAT IS THIS!?" I responded to that.
"So... we run a sub-crime organization, we've been looking for new henchmen for a while to secure the place... and you two seemed like a perfect fit!" Curiousness finally explained everything.
"Um... we didn't agree to this! We're STILL on a search & rescue!" Sympathy wasn't having any of this whatsoever, so snapped at them about that.
"What search & rescue?" Annoyance asked, clearly acting like they didn't know what we were talking about, pushing me over the edge.
"Oh I'm sorry... am I dumb!? Was I born yesterday!? I TOLD YOU WE WERE LOOKING FOR DISGUST OUT HERE, NOT A NEW WHACK ASS JOB THAT COULD JEOPARDIZE OUR FUTURE!!!" I snapped back at Annoyance.
"Oi! Truth is... we don't even know where that so called "Disgust" is... could be faded away for all we care." Annoyance responded.
However, their victory would be short-lived as a knock was heard at their front door.
"My turn to get that!" Annoyance said to Curiousness.
"Ya know... Annoyance does live up to his name..." I said to Sympathy, trying to make light of the situation.
"YA THINK!?" Sympathy responded, still mad we'd been lied to.
"What!?" Annoyance responded to the would-be visitor, however, next thing he knew, Annoyance was kicked in the face, knocking him out instantly.
"LET EM GO!!!" Another rogue emotion responded after that gesture was made. His appearance was similar to Disgust's, but with a few notable differences, one, no neck scarf, two, his shade of green was much much darker. Accompanying him was another rogue emotion (there's a lot of them out there... apparently). Her appearance was that of shy person, having a white appearance, and was timid all the time. She was in no way similar to Embarrassment.
"Oh look, if it isn't the idiots that tried to rob us 1 month ago!" Curiousness responded. The rogue emotion wasn't having this.
"You baited us into doing so! How were we supposed to know you wanted us as your middlemen! I will NOT ask you again to LET THEM GO!!!" He responded.
"And what if I don't want to!?" Curiousness taunted at him.
As if it was on cue, I shot my arrow at Curiousness, temporarily paralyzing him. However, what was really going on was that all his sense of love was being removed. This was made clear when he slapped the shit out of Annoyance when trying to recoup with him.
"Screw you man!!!" Curiousness angrily shouted before leaving the scene. The rogue emotion, however, had other plans. He ended up making them teleport straight down to the smack center of the forgotten memories. Both fatally faded away shortly after that. This made that battle short-lived.
"You guys okay?" The emotion asked us. I was still flabbergasted at his teleportation skills he used on them.
"Y-yeah" Sympathy responded.
"I'm uh... still a bit surprised on how you did that... who even are you... and you as well." I responded, seeing that figure come around the corner.
"Oh, goodness me, didn't even properly introduce myself, how foolish of me! I'm Hype, and that's Shyness. Shyness is a bit timid at times... but that won't matter. And you guys?" He responded.
"Very well! I'm Cupid, and that's Sympathy. We were once acquainted, but a near tragic accident separated us for quite some time. Anyway... I know we just met, but, do you guys know a way out of here?" I responded.
"Of course we do! I couldn't help but notice you're in a bit of a situation? Shyness & I are glad to help you with whatever's going on." Hype responded. "R-r-right." Shyness answered. She gave off what Sadness was back up in HQ, massively introverted and moody all the time, however, remove the moody aspect, and that's who Shyness was around here.
"Okay... so Cupid here came from HeadQuarters after he was moved up there a while back, and he shared with me that one of the emotions up there accidentally ejected herself, and we're on a search & rescue mission for her essentially." Sympathy responded.
"Aahh, HQ, huh? Always wanted to be up there... anywho, who's the emotion? I may know where they are." Hype answered.
"Her name is Disgust, have you perhaps heard of her or seen her within the last 3 hours?" I answered, thinking not much was going to happen. However... luck would be on my side here.
"Ah! Disgust, the one that's slightly lighter in green than I am! Well, I've got some good news for you! I have seen her, actually. She actually was looking for you out where the memories are in long-term. I couldn't get much information from her as she was kidnapped not even 20 seconds after Shyness & I noticed her. I can take you both straight there if you're wanting, however, I must warn you... there will be a few obstacles we'll be facing along the way..." Hype answered.
A few obstacles... eh? Well, I wasn't afraid to learn what they were gonna be.
"Oh? Like what?" I asked him.
"Well, first, let's get out of subconscious real quick." Shyness responded, no longer looking shy. I found out she's only that way meeting new people.
15 minutes later, near Dream Productions
"I forgot how beautiful it is out here..." I took my surroundings in with awe, before finally focusing on the subject.
"Right, Hype! What's the obstacles the 4 of us are facing?" I asked him again.
"Alright, have any of you seen or heard of that Scott Pilgrim movie or whatever it's called?" Hype asked.
Soon as he said that, it hit me.
Some context here. The previous night, all the emotions, myself included, were watching Scott Pilgrim vs The World through Riley's vision on the TV. It was fantastic for me to say the least.
"Wait... don't tell me... are we facing 7 unwanted rogue emotions? Cause if so... we just annihilated 2 of them." I answered back.
"Hmm... looks like someone was paying attention!" Hype responded before continuing.
"Ok, so, there's a rogue emotion out there... his name, I don't even want to mention, was the one that kidnapped Disgust, and has tried to rig all the other emotions out here into making sure Disgust is forgotten by Riley, but little did he know, we faked falling for his schemes. Who you guys just met were the first 2 of 7, the one holding her hostage is the final one we have make sure Riley forgets for good! Curiousness & Annoyance are just nothing but crime ridden emotions, had they stuck around, Riley, I can guarantee, would be in prison come a few years time. And it just so happens that I know the other 5. One of which could be among the mind workers right now... so y'all gotta stay vigilant at all times! Any questions" Hype said.
"Curious as to who the rest of them are..." I said to him in direct response.
"Ok, so we'll know what we're dealing with, I'll mention them now, the rest of the rogues are as follows: Sneakiness, Greed, Arrogance, Depression, and... gulp, Pleasure... the last of which is the one holding Disgust hostage. In order to take them out, we gotta find their weak spots, and use them to our advantage." Hype answered back
"But... how do we know what their weak spots are?" Shyness asked. Leading to a shrug from the rest of the crew.
"I don't exactly know... but there's only one way to find out! And since Imagination Land is on the other side of where we are now... I'm guaranteeing we'll run into all of them as we go." Hype answered, unbeknownst to anyone, Sneakiness was stealing my bow, however, I felt this happening, managing to intercept her right then.
"Alright then! Give my goddamned bow back or there will be consequences!" I sternly said to Sneakiness.
"Oh... I don't know... maybe it's Dream Production's property and I'm returning it to them. Don't worry about it." She responded.
"NICE TRY! Classic con you are! It's MY property damn it! What were you gonna do, make a cut/paste of that damn bow?" I answered, snatching the bow out of her hand.
"You don't wanna do this!" Sneakiness responded.
"Unless you want to take a deep breath through your fucking forehead, I suggest you move about WITHOUT my bow/arrows!" I said angrily back to Sneakiness, pointing an arrow at her.
However, she was able to retract my arrow in a snap, rendering it heavy as a rock.
"Trying to take my arrow shooting ability, are we?" I asked, just laughing at her.
"Oh, you think that's funny, huh?" She responded, not playing games with those remarks. This was before Sympathy showed up.
"Not really, no. But THIS is!" Sympathy responded before giving her a hard hit in the stomach.
"REALLY!? You think a tummy punch will take me down?" Sneakiness taunted at her.
"The audacity of this bitch..." I muttered. Before a slightly different green emotion popped around the corner, wearing expensive clothing, amongst other things.
"BABE! Where the hell is my cut of the pay you promised me!?" Greed responded. Making Sneakiness act a bit confused for a moment.
"Excuse me one moment" Sneakiness responded before turning to Greed.
"WHAT PAY!?" She responded to him. During this time, Sympathy ran back to Hype & Shyness to alert them that 2 more rogues appeared out of nowhere. My arrows recovered from her powers right then, and I shot Sneakiness with my arrow dead center in her neck. Making the 2 of them face me unanimously, right as I tried to take out Greed as well, but failed. Somehow he was immune to my arrows.
"Cupid, Cupid, Cupid! You've got a lot of nerve coming back here after you nearly broke my neck 2 weeks before you got sent to HQ!" Greed responded to that.
"REALLY! You set yourself up for that one! That one was on you! Not me! Is this why you're fucking with me through the dreams y'all do at night you sick bastard?" I asked him back.
"Affirmative! Those cease & desist letters don't mean SHIT to me, you know! What do you want from me anyway you dirtbag cheapskate?" Greed responded arrogantly.
"Disgust! That's what!" I yelled back to them.
"Oh, your little lovebird, huh? We don't even have her to begin with! Also, it's already too late for you anyway. We have your precious Disgust in the hands of someone that can instantly make her life better than you!" Sneakiness taunted once again, making that tear gesture that one does for taunt.
"You want her back!? Pay me 1 gazillion dollars, pronto!" Greed responded back.
In response, I just bust out laughing and followed it up with, "Bullshit!"
This made no difference to them whatsoever. Just a look of "is this dude serious right now?"
This was before Greed got out what is arguably the most lamest weapon I've seen by far. A damn money thrower. Apparently this was supposed to bury someone in money, what a lame way to take someone out.
"Oh really! You think your money machine will work on me?" I taunted at Greed, clearly they were just asking to be mocked/made fun of at this point!
Sneakiness's henchmen, which we'd later find out to be Arrogance, was bothering Hype, he threw Arrogance across the damn area, just near the entrance of Dream Productions.
Hype then came near Sneakiness and began getting cocky with her. This was out of nowhere, I might add.
"GIVE US DISGUST'S LOCATION OR ELSE YOUR HENCHMAN GETS IT!!!" Hype snapped
"I don't even HAVE Pleasure's location!" Sneakiness tried to retort.
Shyness went for Greed's money maker, and outright destroyed it when he wasn't looking, as he stupidly put down said machine to deal with Hype.
"Ah, I see you found Arrogance, huh" Greed asked Hype in a very demeaning way that expressed a schoolyard level squabble taunt was made. Again, they're wanting the mocking to happen.
"How could've you guessed, bub!?" Hype responded back, trying to mock Arrogance. "Who you callin bub... BUB!?" Arrogance responded.
"Jeez, didn't know your last name was Howlett! Thought it was Andersen this whole time!" I playfully responded at Arrogance before he tried to mock my appearance, which failed miserably because of what happened next.
Further adding salt into the wound, Shyness threw the now broken money machine right next to Greed's feet, without miss.
What followed was about a minute of explicatives from Greed, which was quite hilarious. Shyness then came down, and initiated the first punch of what would become a 3 vs 4 brawl.
30 minutes later...
So many punches were thrown, couple of bones were broken in the rogue emotions we were fighting, amongst other things. But it was around this time that Sneakiness, Greed, and Arrogance were all weakened, and were rendered defense-less.
"You... BASTARDS!!!" Arrogance yelled out with what little energy she had left before my arrow went through her. And within the next minute, Hype sent all of the rogues to the forgotten memories pit, where they too would face the same fate as Curiousness & Annoyance.
"Wow..." I responded. "Who would've thought 3 of the rogues would appear at the same time..." I added on top of that.
"Yeah, that doesn't happen often at all... the thing is, with rogues... they could be anywhere, even among the mind workers. Like I said, we have to stay vigilant!" Hype replied, then followed up with, "Now come on, we got ourselves an emotion to rescue from Pleasure!"
25 minutes later
And there we were, right outside the long... LONG, paths of long-term! Now clearly there was no way all 4 of us were gonna stick together, maybe we needed help along the way, as it's way too easy to get lost in these memories.
"Okay, now there's about an infinite amount of paths one can take... as such, I suggest we split up, and find her, because maybe Disgust is hidden somewhere in these isles here, and we just don't know it. Now, these can all lead into different territories, most of us know where we're going, or are going someplace we know, but that doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Oh, and if you find Depression along the way, deal with them accordingly, as I may be too far away to deal with them. Comprende?" I said to the others. In response, everyone unanimously agreed, and off we went on our separate ways, little did we know... we'd be in there for hours on end...
And that's a wrap on part 2! Seems as though 2 more emotions have agreed to help Cupid & Sympathy in helping find Disgust!
Also, decided to incorporate the plot for 2010's Scott Pilgrim vs The World in here of taking on 7 rogues just to reach Disgust. With 5 defeated already, we just have 2 left, one of which I am free to share may be the easiest defeat ever!
