Kara was restlessly flying across National City. Lena, she had to find Lena. Kidnapping Lena … Lillian, it was low. Kara would find Lena; the love of her life will be safe. And Kara would be taking Cadmus down. Before the night was over, Lillian, Henshaw, and Lane would be in prison, Cadmus no more, and Lena, her Lena, would be in her arms, as Kara would comfort Lena with kisses, all kisses, showing Lena how much she loved her. Kara kept flying, briefly entering every suspicious looking warehouse, before continuing her search. She would find Lena.
Alex and Maggie drinking some alien alcohol; Alex really enjoyed their game night earlier, but she wanted to spend time with Maggie. The two of them were wearing their superhero costumes. Rum and pool; this was a good night. "Your turn, Mags," said Alex, smiling as her girlfriend prepared to hit the white ball. Maggie's aim improved when she became a Kryptonian, but she still sucked.
As Maggie hit the white ball, sending it at a pile of balls on the table, Alex saw a man with a hood on his face enter the bar. He retrieved some small spray bottle, and pressed some button; semitransparent smoke began to exit from the spray bottle. Smoke? Alex saw a few aliens drop on the ground. Poisonous gas!
"Maggie, get everyone out," said Alex as she flew at the man, grabbing him. His hood dropped, revealing him wearing Cadmus uniform. Alex held the man in the air. She threw the man at the nearby booth, before flying to help Maggie rescue as many people as she could.
Unfortunately, some aliens dropped on the ground, not breathing. But with their efforts, Alex and Maggie managed to fly the majority of the aliens outside. Once everyone who hasn't inhaled the gas was outside, Alex flew back to the Cadmus agent who spread the gas, lifting him above the ground.
"What is Lillian Luthor up to?" Alex asked.
"I will never talk," said the Cadmus agent, grabbing some pill from his pocket, and promptly killing himself. Sigh, Alex would need to find another lead; this monster just killed several aliens.
"Alex, Cadmus has made a bold step," said Maggie, landing next to her, and putting her hand on Alex's shoulder. "We managed to save most patrons, but some … Cadmus will pay."
"Yes, Cadmus will pay for what they've done. Stay here, Maggie, I will bring emergency aid kits from the DEO; we need to check if anyone else inhaled this poisonous gas," said Alex, flying to the DEO, as Maggie walked outside, checking if everyone the two of them rescued still needed help.
Kara got a text from Alex, urging her to get to the DEO, asap. Strange, Alex was supposed to be playing pool at the bar; why was Alex at the DEO? Kara flew to the DEO, arriving in the middle of the briefing room.
"Alex, Lillian kidnapped Lena –"
"Kara, Cadmus poisoned the alien bar," said Alex at the same as Kara spoke. Poisoned? If Lillian kidnapped Lena the same night she poisoned the bar … was Lillian entering her endgame? What was she planning?
"The alien bar, what happened?" Kara asked.
"Lillian kidnapped Lena?" Alex asked.
"Yeah, but I cannot find her! I flew over the city," said Kara, frowning. She would find Lena, she had to.
An image of Lillian Luthor appeared on the DEO monitor. How did Lillian have access, did she have moles in the DEO? Kara and Alex turned to the monitor.
"Lillian," said Alex.
"Where. Is. Lena?" Kara screamed.
"Don't worry Supergirl, Lena is unharmed. Mostly, I guess, but I digress. Don't worry Supergirl, I don't intend to kill her. Quite in fact, I want to persuade Lena to join me; I believe after tonight, she will see the light," said Lillian in the monitor. "I can see that my test run was a success. Soon, very soon, what happened at the bar will happen everywhere on the planet. Soon, the aliens will be no more, and I will be hailed as a savior of this planet."
Kara's eyes turned red, sending heat energy at the monitor, frying it.
"Kara, we will find Lena, but you destroying DEO's property won't help us," said Alex.
Tears escaped Kara's eyes. "She has Lena, she has Lena," said Kara weakly, closing her eyes. More tears escaped her eyes. Alex walked towards her sister and hugged Kara. Alex, loving and understanding Alex.
"It's okay, everything will be okay. Kara, Cadmus will pay. We will find Lena," said Alex, as Maggie arrived at the DEO.
"Danvers, the police has arrived. They secured the bar and put it under quarantine, but allowed me to temporarily take this bottle spray with me; Alex, I don't understand, why has this gas affected some people at the bar, but not you or I?" Maggie asked.
"I need to examine this. You two, come with me to the lab. We need to learn what we are dealing with; I won't endanger anyone's life. For some reason, this spray doesn't affect Kryptonians; lucky for us, we have three brilliant minds who can get to the root of this problem," said Alex, taking the bottle from Maggie, and walking to the DEO's lab. Kara and Maggie followed.
Kara spent next twenty minutes helping Alex analyze the chemical with various tests. Kara knew science well, but she preferred technology part of physics over chemistry.
Alex sprayed a small portion of the gas into a contained test-tube, and looked at the computer. "Strange, this chemical compound is unlike anything I dealt with before, and trust me, I covered numerous dangerous substances. I think it some sort of alien virus," said Alex.
Kara leaned towards the computer. Wait a second, while Kara has never seen this particular chemical compound, she recognized a small portion of it. Krypton, her chemistry class covered the same type of strand … Krypton, was this a Kryptonian virus?
"Alex, I've seen this part before," said Kara, pointing her finger at a portion of the chemical compound on the screen. "Back on Krypton, I learned about this strand … Alex, I think this virus originated on Krypton."
"We need to check at the Fortress of Solitude. If your hunch is correct, and we are dealing with a Kryptonian virus, the Fortress would have more information," said Alex.
"I agree. Let's go," said Kara.
Alex looked at Maggie. "Maggie, find Hank. Tell him about this virus. Kara and I will be back soon," said Alex, kissing Maggie on the lips, and following Kara out of the door. The sister flew away from the DEO and began their journey towards the Fortress of Solitude.
When Kara and Alex arrived, Kara opened the door, and stepped inside. Strange, the lights were out.
"Intruder alert, intruder alert," said Kelex robot, flying towards them.
"Intruder alert? Kelex, who is the intruder?" Kara asked. She hasn't seen anyone enter, was someone hiding inside? But how would they get in?
"Yes, Kara Zor El. The intruder is you. You and Alex Danvers," said Kelex, starting to fire lasers at the two. Kara's eyes turned red, sending red energy to slightly damage the robot; it fell on the ground and stopped talking. Kara didn't want to damage any part of the Fortress, but she could rebuild Kelex robot … for now, Kara and Alex had to find the information.
The two women approached the main control panel; Kara put the spray bottle inside, and activated the hologram of her father. "Father," said Kara. She wished she could hug him, but she was only looking at the hologram of him.
"Kara Zor El, daughter, how could I help you?" Zor El's hologram asked.
"Father, do you know what this compound is? Why does it have Kryptonian sequences?" Kara asked. The computer scanned the chemical.
"Kara, I indeed know about this compound. What the computer has scanned is Medusa," said Zor El's hologram.
"Medusa, what is this Medusa?" Kara asked.
"Medusa?" Alex asked.
"Medusa is a weaponized virus I have personally created for planet Krypton's defenses," said Zor El's hologram. Wait, what? Father created this virus, her father created a deadly weapon?
"Dad, please don't tell me you did this, please," said Kara, crying, as tears escaped her eyes.
"Kara Zor El, I have created this virus; it was a joint project between the Science and Military Guild. This was the largest project I have completed with my sister in law General Astra, several years prior to her banishment to the Phantom Zone," said Zor El's hologram.
"You created … why? Father, why have you done this?" Kara asked. Father, what have you done?
"Kara, I thought you said your father worked in only peaceful projects?" Alex asked. Her sister was correct. She looked at Alex.
"Yes, my dad only worked on peaceful scientific projects," said Kara, looking back at the hologram. "Dad, why have you developed this?"
"Kara Zor El, together with General Astra, I have developed this virus; it attacks any non Kryptonian physiology within minutes, completely killing anyone exposed to even miniscule amounts of this virus. Kara, there is no cure. Anyone exposed to the Medusa virus will die," said Zor El's hologram.
"Dad, why? Why have you done this? All the time I remember spending time with you, you told me that you were saving lives," said Kara. Why dad, why?
"That is correct, Kara Zor El. I have been saving Kryptonian lives," said Zor El's hologram. Kara's heart shattered. She dropped on the ground, and began to sob.
"Dad created Medusa. Mom used me to capture Astra. Astra helped dad create Medusa, among many other things she did. My family, no, why?" Kara cried, more tears escaping her eyes.
Alex sat on her knees, and hugged Kara. "Kara, is Lena evil?" Alex asked.
"Of course not! Lena is a pure angel of goodness," said Kara quickly.
"See? Lillian and Lex are terrible people. Yes, your family isn't even comparably evil to Lena's, despite doing very questionable things … Kara, your parents and aunt have made many mistakes, but they don't define you. You are you, a living and breathing sunshine of hope. You are a good person, despite your family making terrible mistakes. Don't ever forget that. You are a good person. Looking at Astra, I think despite doing all these things, deep down she … she can become our friend. As for you, don't despair, you are kind, and brave, and a powerful sister. You are Kara Zor El, my sister, a person who knows what is the right thing to do," said Alex.
"Alex," said Kara, hugging Alex back. She loved her sister so much. Kara used all her strength to hug Alex back; she could take it, oh Rao, how happy Kara was knowing she can hug Alex with all her strength, without any worry of breaking her bones.
"Zor El, download the data on Medusa to a usb drive," said Alex, ending the hug, and standing up.
"Request granted, Alex Danvers Zor El," said the hologram. Despite his mistakes, hearing the hologram of her father acknowledge Alex to be her family … Kara stood up, and hugged Alex tightly. She loved her sister. Alex grabbed the usb drive.
"Kara, while your father is gone … Astra, we can ask Astra on what she knows about this," said Alex. Kara nodded. Her aunt helped to co create this virus, she had to know about it. The sister flew back to the DEO.
When they arrived, Kara saw Hank standing in the middle of the DEO. "Supergirl, Powergirl, I spoke earlier with Powercop; she went to patrol the city. Have you found any new leads?" Hank asked.
"Yes. Medusa," said Kara, pausing. Rao, this was hard. Her father, her father did this. With Aunt Astra. "My father, we spoke to his hologram. He created Medusa with Aunt Astra in an attempt to protect Krypton from invaders."
"And now Lillian Luthor has this virus. I see, if Lillian has decided to weaponize it, she had to have modified this Medusa virus to not affect humans. This now makes sense how neither of you nor Powercop were affected. I worry about Lillian's plans … while we know that humans and Kryptonians are immune, all other aliens are in danger," said Hank.
"Lillian," said Kara, slamming her fist on the desk, splitting it in two. "Lillian, she corrupted already shady legacy of my family, and now she wants to use my family's mistake to kill all non Kryptonian aliens. Lillian!"
Kara screamed. "Kara, we will find and rescue Lena. Let's talk to Astra," said Alex, putting her hand on Kara's shoulder. Kara nodded; the two sisters went to check Astra.
When they arrived, Kara saw Karen lying on Astra's bed in her cell, while Astra was sitting on the bed's edge, looking at Karen with love. Kara wished she wouldn't deal with any of these problems, she wished she would be back on Krypton with her entire family. She wished so badly for her parents to meet Alex, Lena, and Maggie. But her parents were dead. But Aunt Astra wasn't. Kara vowed to get through this … Kara vowed to improve her relationship with her aunt; one day, one day they would be a proper family once again.
"Little One, Brave One," said Astra, looking at Kara and Alex.
"Aunt Astra, Cadmus obtained the Medusa virus," said Kara.
"No, she couldn't, no, no," said Astra, looking at the wall, closing her eyes, and sighing. She then opened her eyes and looked back at Kara and Alex. "Kara, I … I created Medusa with your father. Back then the two of us wanted to find a way to protect Krypton from invaders; I must admit, this was a mistake. We shouldn't have created Medusa, but what is done is done. There is no going back, I will live, knowing about the terrible mistake your father and I have done."
"Aunt Astra, was father correct? Is there no cure?" Kara asked.
"That is correct. There is no cure to Medusa. I am sorry Kara," said Astra. A tear escaped her eye.
"And now Lillian Luthor has both Lena and an access to Medusa," said Alex.
"The Smart One? She took the Smart One?" Astra asked, frowning.
"Yes," said Astra. Kara noticed that Hank arrived, and was now standing outside the cell.
"Kara, Alex, we have a situation. Come with me, I brought Doctor Danvers, Eliza came to help us. Lillian Luthor taunted us once again. Astra, take Karen; Medusa doesn't affect Kryptonians, your daughter will not be affected," said Hank.
"Me?" Astra asked, standing up.
"Yes. Look, after Medusa situation is dealt with, you will return to the cell, but I need all hands on deck. As a Kryptonian, Medusa doesn't affect you. I will need all available people to help scout the city for any possible attack, while we search for Lena and Lillian," said Hank.
Hank wanted Astra to help them? Golly, Hank wanted Astra to help them! Astra, her aunt would work with her!
"General?" Hank asked, seeing brief hesitation on Astra's face.
"Martian, I will help. It's the least I can do to atone for the mistake I made. Come, I will inform you about everything I know about Myriad, and ways to prevent exposure," said Astra, lifting Karen, and carrying her sleeping daughter, following Kara, Alex, and Hank back to the main room.
When they arrived, Astra put Karen on a chair, and approached the table, standing next to Kara. Golly, her Aunt Astra was standing next to her, helping Kara! Kara wished this would happen more, she wished Astra would find redemption and be her ally and friend.
"General Astra, thank you for your help," said Eliza, as Astra began explaining more about Medusa virus, how it could spread, how it could be prevented. As Astra was talking, Kara heard people shouting, pointing the guns at a person who just arrived in the DEO. Why were they pointing guns? Kara turned her head; her eyes widened, noticing Jeremiah stand several meters away from her.
"Dad!" Alex exclaimed, flying towards her father, and hugging him.
"Careful Alex, or you will break my bones," said Jeremiah, smiling.
"Dad! Dad, dad, I … I missed you," said Alex, unwilling to let him go.
"Alex, my dear daughter, I am not going anywhere," said Jeremiah. He returned? He was on their side?
"Dad, I don't understand," said Alex.
"Alex, I have made terrible mistakes. I thought by working for Lillian Luthor, I would restrain her worst impulses. I thought by working for her, she would refrain from actively seeking harm to my family. But, I realized that she was wrong. Alex Danvers … Lillian Luthor is a monster, she … her methods are extreme. She wants to kill every alien in the world. Capturing, forcefully removing, she wanted bad things before, but this? Look Alex, I don't see you forgiving me for everything I've done, but I just can't deal with this. I will work tirelessly day and night to protect my girls, and help stop Lillian. Tonight, tonight Lillian crossed a line. Using this Medusa so maliciously against innocent people? I cannot be a part of Cadmus; I will find a way to protect my girls from her wrath," said Jeremiah as Alex hugged him once more.
Jeremiah was back! Alex was probably feeling similar things she felt regarding Astra at the moment; yes, Jeremiah did bad things. Kara didn't know what the future held for them, but she knew that her sister and Jeremiah could finally reconnect.
"Please watch my daughter," said Astra, looking at Jeremiah. He nodded; Astra rose in the air. "I am going to scout the city; I will meet up with the Kind One and check the dimpled detective about the situation in the city."
Astra flew away.
"I have examined this Medusa virus. Spray bottles can easily spread the virus over small distances, but for Lillian to be able affect large distances, she would need a disperse agent; from what General Astra told me, she developed Medusa using some compound only seen on Krypton. There is, however, a substitute available on Earth; such a disperse agent is made exclusively by L Corp," said Eliza. L Corp, did Lillian manage to get her hands on it?
An image of Lillian appeared on the monitor, next to the monitor Kara recently destroyed.. "Lillian!" Kara exclaimed.
"Supergirl, I want you to bring me the disperse agent, located at L Corp. Don't try anything foolish, I will know if I am being played. Look, Supergirl, I don't want to hurt my daughter, but if you do not cooperate, I promise you, I will torture Lena; oh no, I won't kill her, but she would wish she were dead," said Lillian, as Kara screamed. "So, what will it be, Supergirl? Will you bring me the disperse agent, or will Lena suffer? Know this, you cannot come with anyone else, or Lena will suffer unimaginable pain. Come alone, yes, Kara Zor El, come alone, and know that once I have the disperse agent, I will kill you. Tonight, Supergirl will die. Once I kill you, I will free Lena from Myriad's control, so I could observe her broke spirit, when she looks at your dead body."
Kara screamed again. "Where is Lena?" Kara asked.
"Oh, she is with me," Lillian looked back, ordering Lena to stand up and approach the camera. "Lena, dear, tell your Kryptonian pet where she can find the disperse agent."
"Kara, check my office; there is a safe in there that uses a biometric signature. You are the only person capable of opening that safe. I took precautions; I considered Lillian of possibly kidnapping me, so when I put the disperse agent, among a few other things, in that safe, I only granted you access to it; even I cannot open it," said Lena. Lillian pushed Lena away.
"As you can see, you can save Lena, Supergirl. Bring me this disperse agent, and come alone. You will die, but I promise you, if you do deliver me what I want, I will let Lena go after your death; I will not torture Lena. If, however, you fail to bring me what I want within next thirty minutes, I will order Lena for her to break her own fingers. And if you don't come within next hour, I will torture her to such an extent that she would wish to be dead. Your choice, Supergirl," said Lillian, telling Kara her coordinates.
"I am coming with you," said Alex.
"No. Alex, I can't, no, I can't risk Lena's life. Please," said Kara, tears escaping her eyes.
"Kara, I am your sister, I cannot let you die," said Alex, hugging Kara tightly.
"I won't die. I will take down Lillian. I will stop this madness. And I will rescue Lena, my Lena. Alex, she is the love of my life, I cannot let her be harmed!" Kara said, as tears escaped Alex's eyes.
"I love you Kara, you are such a good person," said Alex, once again hugging Kara tightly.
"Be close by in case Lillian changes her mind. Fly around the facility, patrolling the area. But I have to face Lillian, alone," said Kara.
"I will help Alex," said Hank. "I will patrol the skies outside; go Supergirl, save your girlfriend."
Kara smiled, ending the hug, and flying away. She would save Lena, even it cost Kara her life. It was a price Kara was willing to pay.
Kara carried a large suitcase; she took a deep breath, opening the door. Lena, she would rescue Lena. Maggie and Astra were patrolling the city for any Cadmus activity, while Alex and Hank were outside, flying in the air, ready to help her. Her family would help, but this, this Kara had to do herself. She would defeat Lillian, tonight, she would defeat Lillian, and save Lena. She would not fail. Lena, Lena, she was almost there, hold on for a bit more, Lena, Kara was ready to rescue her love.
Kara entered the room; it was barely lit. She saw Lena sitting in the middle of the room; unmoving. Lillian and the original Hank Henshaw stepped out of the darkness. Henshaw approached Lena, and stood next to her with a knife, while whistling. Lillian meanwhile approached Kara.
"Supergirl, you have arrived just in time. I wondered if you would actually show up. Good, good, only fifteen minutes have passed; I am the woman of my word, Lena Luthor will be unharmed. Now, give me the disperse agent, and let me kill all the aliens of this city," said Lillian.
"Let Lena go," said Kara.
"No. Give me the disperse agent," said Lillian. Kara stood firmly, still holding the suitcase. "I see you don't understand that I hold all the power here. Henshaw, dear, please hurt Lena, make her feel pain. Just don't kill her. Consider breaking a bone?
"No, stop," said Kara, as Henshaw brought a knife close to Lena's arm. "Stop, stop, I … have it, just don't her Lena. Please."
Tears escaped her eyes. Kara put the suit next to Lillian. Henshaw hasn't touched Lena; he stood motionless next to her.
"Here we go, this wasn't difficult," said Lillian, smiling. She opened the suitcase and looked at the device briefly; Lillian removed a vial from her pocket, and put its contents inside the dispersion agent device. She then took off her coat. She quickly grabbed two gloves that had glowing green rocks above the area her knuckles would be inside the glove. "Good, now, Supergirl, it's time for you to die. And if you move just an inch towards Lena, Henshaw over there would not hesitate to stab her."
Lillian then used her knuckles covered with kryptonite rocks to hit Kara in the face, throwing her on the ground. Kara screamed, as blood appeared on her cheek. "Stand up, Kryptonian. I won't kill you right away. I want you to feel the pain"
"Lena," said Kara, tears escaping her eyes, standing up, as Lillian hit Kara in the stomach. Kara fell again. It hurt, it hurt like hell, but seeing Lena's life being in danger, Kara would take all this pain to protect the pain. She could endure the physical pain, she couldn't see Lena hurt. "Lena!"
Lillian smirked, throwing another punch at Kara's stomach. Kara underestimate Lillian. She, this monster, she threatened Lena … Kara couldn't do anything. If her friends would try to rescue her, Henshaw would maim or even kill Lena. If Kara moved closer to Lena, Henshaw would also maim or even kill Lena. And Kara couldn't let Lillian go. She had to stop Lillian, she had to protect the city.
Kara cried as Lillian threw another punch. "Stand up. Stand up, pathetic Kryptonian," said Lillian, laughing, as Kara stood up, only to get hit in the chest, falling on the ground. "Kara, Kara, Kara, look at you, pathetic Kryptonian, unable to save Lena. You lost, Kara Zor El. I have you at my mercy, soon, Kara Danvers, you will die. I am in complete control."
Tears escaped Kara's eyes, as Lillian retrieved a knife from her pocket. It was glowing with green energy. "Please, don't you realize that you are hurting your daughter," said Kara, tears escaping her eyes.
"I am well aware, Kryptonian. I intend to have Lena sit still, being affected with Myriad, unable to move, helplessly watching as I carve your heart. Soon, you will be lying in the pool of your blood; you, Kara Zor El, will be dead, and Lena's spirit will be broken. The aliens will be dead, and I will win," said Lillian, laughing. "Credit where credit is due, your family created marvelous inventions. Myriad will kill all the non Kryptonian aliens, while I will use Myriad to break Lena's spirit. It's a pity I couldn't use Myriad on you; I suppose it's fun to have you not be affected with it. You can fight back; I will still kill you, of course."
Lillian brought the knife close to Kara's heart. "Please! Think of Lena," said Kara, more tears escaping her eyes.
"Oh, I am thinking of Lena," said Lillian, laughing, ready to stab Kara. This was it, this was how she would die. It was okay, at least Lena was close. Kara knew her family would stop Lillian.
Kara heard a scream that shattered all lamps across the room. Why was Lena screaming? How was Lena screaming? Kara and Lillian both looked at Lena who was no longer sitting helplessly on the chair. Lena was hovering a foot above the ground in the air. Lena was hovering in the air!
"Pathetic girl, how are you moving? How did you get up from the chair? How are you even flying? Oh no," said Lillian, opening her eyes widely. Lena was in the air, Lillian was distracted. Good. Kara punched Lillian, throwing the woman on the ground.
"Kara, take the suit, and get the hell out of here," Lena shouted. Kara grabbed the suitcase, as Henshaw flew after her. Luckily, Kara managed to grab the suitcase just in time, escaping the facility. She was fast, but somehow Lillian modified the original Hank Henshaw with enough cybernetics that he could almost keep up with her.
"Kara?" Alex asked, as Kara was flying away from Henshaw. She had to escape, she had to get rid of the disperse agent. Kara had to be careful, she couldn't accidentally break the device, releasing its contents everywhere.
"Alex? Kara!" Kara saw Lena hovering in the air, looking at her. Lena, her Lena was hovering in the air. Shoot, Henshaw almost got to her. Kara had to act quick. "Catch."
Kara threw the device to Lena, who managed to catch it. Henshaw stopped midair, and changed his direction, flying at Lena, who panicked, and wiggled with her arms and legs before stabilizing, and managing to start flying away.
Kara flew at Henshaw, catching up to him, grabbing him by the waist, and throwing him on the ground. Before he connected with the ground, he changed his trajectory, once again rising in the air, and continuing his chase after Lena.
"Kara, Alex and I will help," said Hank, as a dozen of Cadmus agents appeared, and began shooting at everyone. At Lena was nowhere to be seen. Lena, where was Lena? Golly, Lena could fly, she could fly!
Kara had no time to celebrate Lena being her soulmate, as more Cadmus agents appeared in the area, continuing to shoot at Kara, Alex, and the Martian Manhunter.
Kara saw Lena return. "Kara, we need to destroy this device," said Lena, holding the device in her hand, while hovering.
"Lena, no, get back," Kara shouted. But it was too late. Cyborg Superman tackled Lena, releasing a small amount of Kryptonite gas at her, and grabbing the device. "No!"
"Say goodbye to all the aliens," said Cyborg Superman, throwing the device in the air, and then using his own laser vision to destroy it. The gas began to spread. "Ha, you lost, Supergirl."
Lena coughed, punching Cyborg Superman. Powergirl and Martian Manhunter caught up to him, and restrained Cyborg Superman.
"Hank, get out," said Kara. He had to get out, or he would die.
"Kara, it's alright. It's too late; I will meet my family again," said Hank, as the gas now spread to their location as well. Some of it reached the Martian Manhunter; Kara was confused, he was still flying in the air, still breathing. What happened?
Lena laughed. She punched Cyborg Superman, escaping his grasp, and flying to Kara. When she reached Kara, golly! Lena was flying, Lena was flying! Lena reached Kara, placing Kara in a tight embrace.
"Lena, I don't understand," said Kara.
Lena grinned. "I made Medusa inert," said Lena, as Kara realized that Lena's brief disappearance was enough for her genius girlfriend to make the virus inert. Lena, her Lena, was smart, so, so smart.
"Let's finish this," said Kara, flying towards the building. She saw that Lillian managed to stand up, putting her hand on the wall, helping her stand. Kara had to have hit Lillian harder than she expected; Lillian wasn't going to run away any time soon.
Kara landed in front of Lillian, soon joined by Lena. Lillian fell on the ground.
"Mother, it's all over," said Lena.
"No, it wasn't supposed to be like this, no, Lena, my daughter, how could you fall in love with this … with this Kryptonian pest?" Lillian asked.
"We love each other," said Kara, looking down at Lillian.
"Your diabolical plans are over. Medusa is done. I made it inert," said Lena. Kara saw Astra and Maggie arrive on the scene; with Cyborg Superman defeated, Alex, Hank, Maggie, and Astra easily defeated Cadmus agents on the street.
"I … Lena Luthor, you are a Luthor, no, it's wrong, it's very wrong. Lena, you are a Luthor. You cannot be … you cannot be a Kryptonian!" Lillian screamed, as Kara hugged Lena. Lena, her Lena, she was her soulmate!
Police cars began to arrive and surround the building. "Oh, and mother? I called the police," said Lena, grinning.
With Lillian and Henshaw being in custody, Kara wanted to celebrate. She loved Lena with all her heart; Kara asked Lena, Alex, and Maggie to come for a double date the next day. For now, Kara smiled, looking at Lena, sitting on the edge of her bed. She last seen Hank talking to Eliza and Jeremiah. Alex and Maggie went to play pool after checking and making sure that their favorite bar was no longer contaminated. Astra read "Sleeping Beauty" to Karen, who awoke, asking questions about what happened that night.
Kara was sitting on the edge of her bed, staring at Lena's face with love. Lena, the love of her life was her soulmate! Kara smiled, leaning closer, gently pushing Lena on the bed; Lena landed on her back, as Kara climbed on top of her, placing her hands around Lena's neck, kissing her. They won, they finally won. Lillian was in custody, Cadmus was no more. And Lena, Lena was her soulmate, and Kara knew the two of them would enjoy this victory.
