Chapter 19 - Post-Mortem
City of Terraxia
Ryo, Mai, Terry, Nakoruru, Akari, Kaede and Shigen are seen staring at the annoyed Kyo sitting in a rock thoughtful
"Wow, whatever Athena must had told him, affected him probably more than she thinks." - Mai
"Don't worry, guys. I know how to cheer him up!" - Akari uses one of her tags to transform into Athena
Kaede can't help but facepalm as Nakoruru just closes her eyes of the shame
"Hello, Kyo." - Akari looking like Athena approaches Kyo grabing his back
"Did you miss me? I reflected on our last talk and you're right, who needs Yagami anyway? He is just a grumpy idiot who decided to leave us first and now that demon probably killed him." - Akari
"So how about you stop acting like that and we return inside to think of how to defeat that giant space thing?" - Akari
"Akari, I'm not in the mood for one of your jokes. Please stop pretending you're her!" - Says Kyo with a serious dry tone
"Fine, fine. Geez, I was just trying to cheer you up." - Akari returns to her normal appearence
"Do you think she is coming back?" - Kaede
"I hope she does, after Jeanne, Galford and Rose. I don't want to lose another person in our group, Athena is able to take care of herself but those aliens are really no joke." - Terry
"They aren't." - Leona comes out
"The Mars People have always rank among a big threat for earth. Especially when they are accompanied by their mothership... The Rugname. Rootmars must be inside there." - Leona
"How we are going to deal with that thing?" - Mai
"We will form a plan, I was discussing with Doc Brown and Maxima. However we are going to need a big source of power to make this plan work if we want to take down that." - Leona stares at Kyo
"Wait, someone is coming!" - Nakoruru sees something in the distance
"Is that-Athena and Chizuru!" - Asks Mai all surprised seeing the two women walking towards the shield as ships and a group of Mars People try to attack them
Kyo reacts hearing that as he also stands up seeing the two women returning in the horizon
"Enter, Chizuru, I'll hold them back!" - Athena leaves Chizuru to run towards where the shield is as she uses her psycho powers to hold back the Mars People and ships
"Seirah! Lower the shield, just some seconds! Athena and Chizuru are here!" - Leona speaks on her earpiece
"Alright, just tell them to run faster!" - Whip
*Fssowh* - The shield deactivates
Mai and Nakoruru help Chizuru and Athena while Kyo and Kaede, take down some Mars People close to the city before activating the shield again
"Chizuru! You're alive!" - Mai hugs Chizuru finally reunited with her friend in the safe city of Terraxia
"I'm yes... Is a long story, I also missed you, Mai." - Chizuru hugs Mai as Athena returns with Kyo and Kaede who are surprised this is the real Kagura and not Mizuki
"Wow! Chizuru, your hands... You're very cold, are you alright?" - Mai
Chizuru rises an eyebrow
"I am cold?" - Chizuru
"Yes, Ms. Kagura are you feeling ok?" - Nakoruru
"How do we know this isn't that demon?" - Genjuro appears
"She isn't Mizuki, I can feel her chi, is the one she had when we arrived here, she is Ms. Kagura." - Nakoruru
"Besides, I'm not the hostess of Mizuki anymore. Unfortunately, she-she..." - Chizuru is hesitant to say it
"Chizuru, did she took him?" - Kyo
"..." - Chizuru
"She did." - Athena
"Iori has been taken by Mizuki as her host now." - Athena says that making everyone be shocked by this
"How did this happened?" - Leona approaches
"Is a large story." - Chizuru is taken inside the palace
Some moments later
"I'm sorry that happened, Ms. Kagura." - Nakoruru expresses her sadness in knowing Iori is now the host of Mizuki
"I-I feel I could had prevented this from happening, had I been more careful around this demon, maybe none of this would had happened." - Chizuru
"Don't think about it anymore, we need to stay with a clear mind and despite how stubborn she is.." - Kyo looks at Athena
"She was right in putting herself in risk to save you." - Kyo
Hearing that makes Chizuru look at Athena who puts her hand in her shoulder
"Athena." - Chizuru puts her hand on top of Athena's one
"(Huh? Wait a moment, why is Chizuru's hand feeling this cold? And what is that hole in her hand?)" - Athena puts attention to a strange hole in Chizuru's hand, the wound looks deep, yet it doesn't look like Chizuru is bleeding or feels it
"I hate to interrupting this moment, believe me I'm happy that Ms. Kagura is alive as all of you but we still have a problem to deal with." - Says Whip appearing with Dr. Brown, K', Maxima and Kula
"The aliens. It is true, there's important stuff to take care." - Chizuru gets up trying to forget what happened
"(She is trying to hide it, but I can see her pain in her face from here but it is understandable, after all the pain she had to endure being the hostess of that demon. After what she did using her body... Oh Chizuru, I'm so sorry.)" - Athena
Meanwhile
Rugal and the rest are seen taking refuge in a nearby cave using a sphere to generate a shield like the one from the city of Terraxia
"I don't see any of these aliens approaching." - Says Yashiro using a pair of binoculars watching over in the distance alongside Shion
"You look annoyed." - Shion
"Do I even need to tell you why?" - Yashiro
"Considerating the number of people we are missing, nope. I totally understand... You want to talk about it?" - Shion
"There's nothing to talk about it, once I get my hands on the two who killed Shermie and Chris. I'll make sure they regret having taken them out." - Yashiro
"You will have your moment to take revenge, but right now we need to focus on finding a way to take down Rootmars and his people out of the equation." - Rugal
"Something is coming!" - Shion
"What is that bastard doing here?" - Says Yashiro unable to believe what he is seeing as the shadow of a familiar face approaches the group walking slowly
"Hmph! He looks very different from the last time I saw him." - Botan
The entire group is surprised as they see the creature in front of them approaching walking super calm but looking hurt
The creature isn't other than Iori Yagami, sporting yellow eyes, very long nails and a strange skin tone being dark looking like a shadow with some red veins as well as a uncanny demonic smile showcasing sharp fangs and teeth
"Yagami!" - Yashiro
"Oh calm down, Yashiro. He isn't here right now... Don't you recognize me?" - Iori
"Rakikiki!" - Mizuki does her traditional laugh calling the attention of Rugal and Geese
"Mizuki! How the hell did this happened?" - Rugal
"Oh is a large story, but let's just say certain fool had to pay the price for killing my old hostess just like his friend Kagura did before." - Mizuki
"Hmph! I see, well you arrived just in time, I have been divising a plan to take on our enemies right now." - Rugal
"Those martians seen to be more fearsome than what they thought, they are attacking that city in the distance where the rest took refuge." - Mizuki
"Yes, they are. And what I thought was, why not taking advantage of this attack to destroy them once and for all?" - Rugal
"Mmm... I feel you have something planned, Rugal." - Mizuki
"You just wait and see it, for it is what will bring us to the victory." - Rugal
Meanwhile - Castle of Terraxia
"As you guys know, we need a way to take down that ship. Is a very large ship, none of the weaponry from Terraxia can destroy it sadly." - Dr. Brown
"However... I have a plan. Maxima, could you come foward for a second." - Dr. Brown
Maxima steps up with him pulling something out of his back
"This is a nuclear battery. One that was given to me by Dr. Makishima months before this event started." - Maxima
"Capable of lasting for years, this battery could be our key to take down that ship." - Maxima
"Ok, so we have this battery. But now how we are going to take that large ship out?" - Terry
"Is simple Terry, if we used the nuclear energy of Maxima's battery on a big source of power, maybe it could work.. The discharge would be so big that it would disrupt the energy of the ship, literally leaving it without power to keep attacking us and force to descend." - Dr. Brown
"Ok, so if we combine the energy of the battery with a big source of power and we hit this thing with that, could we take it out of the sky? Did I get that right?" - Kyo
"Yes, that's what I'm saying?" - Dr. Brown
"But what kind of power source?" - Krizalid
"Something that when overcharged with the nuclear energy can become deadly enough for these aliens... I created this harness for Maxima, he will use his laser combined with our two sources of power to be able to hit the ship in the weak spot." - Dr. Brown
"However saying this is more easy than done, as we will have a limited amount of time to aim and shoot with the shield protecting the city being lowered, we are putting the city at risk to take down the ship. And the battery couldn't work after we use it with this two sources of power, so we only have one shot that we can't fail." - Dr. Brown
"Alright, I understand. It has to be done faster and precisely if we don't want to run the risk of these aliens overtaking this city." - Kyo
"So in regards of the two sources of power, what can be use?" - Seirah
"Don't worry about that Seirah, me and Dr. Brown already know what kind of power we can use." - Maxima
"We are going to use Kyo's Kusanagi flames and Athena's psycho power." - Says Dr. Brown surprising both fighters
"Wait, we are the ones who will take the ship out?" - Athena
"Yes, listen. I need you two to be as focused as you can, this shot and our lifes are in your hands once you climb to the tallest tower in the city with Maxima and me." - Dr. Brown
"I not so sure, Dr. Brown, are you my psycho power is the right source of power to use?" - Athena
"Athena, you better than anybody should know how powerful can be the psycho power, in scientific terms, psychic energy is able to lasts for years... Even centuries! Remember the blood sample you gave me? I examinated it and if my theory and calculations aren't wrong, is the perfect source of power to take down Rootmars' ship." - Dr. Brown
"People with Psycho power have a slower age process than most other humans, psychic energy can last for years even centuries, in small dosis it can heal third degree burns and power machinery even!" - Dr. Brown
"(It can also bring people back from the dead...)" - Thought Chizuru looking down
"Maybe the psycho power can be eternal?" - Questions Dr. Brown grabing his chin
"So I'm sure that if we mixed your powers with Kyo's and Maxima's battery, we will be able to take down the mothership of the Mars People. But I need both of you to be on the same channel with me and to not feel any doubts?" - Dr. Brown
"*Sigh* I guess we have no other choices." - Athena
"If that's the plan, might as well go with it." - Kyo
The fighters go to their positions in front of the shield as Dr. Brown takes Maxima, Athena and Kyo to the tallest tower in the city of Terraxia
As Kyo and co climb up the tower
"(I told you I would bring her...)" - Athena starts a psychic conversation with Kyo as they climb out the stairs
"(That was very reckless from your part, you could had died.)" - Kyo
"(I learned from the best.)" - Athena
"(Athena, I'm serious about this. What if Mizuki had been there when you arrived? She isn't a pushover, you saw what she was able to do with the mirror.)" - Kyo
"(I'm well aware of that, had she had been there when I arrived, I would had fight with her to try to save Iori.)" - Athena
"(Why? Why risking your life for a bastard who has never been kind for you in first place? He has never been kind with anyone else before, he is an idiot who is always walking his own path and doing what he wants.)" - Kyo
"(He saved us from Mizuki when none of us could move, Kyo. Iori saved us from Mizuki's first attack. I believe if Chizuru saw some light in him that it was for a good reason.)" - Athena
"(Chizuru is a blind fool and you're sounding like her now! She keeps seeing Yagami as her supposed friend from childhood but Yagami will never return to be that kid.)" - Kyo
"(He isn't perfect, he is a human like you and me. If you tried to know him better instead of feeding him on with this hatred, you might had already seen how similar he is to you!)" - Athena
"(Stop with that nonsense, Athena. If you want to believe Chizuru's lies that deep down Yagami is a supposed good guy, then is your problem. For all I know, he is nothing but a annoyance and nightmare with legs that I have been enduring for years!)" - Kyo
"(I'm not going to let you do that Kyo. Not even think about it!)" - Athena
"(You have to be kidding!)" - Kyo
"(No, I won't let you kill Iori if you're thinking only because he was possesed by Mizuki now, that you can take advantage of that to get rid of him.)" - Athena
"(Why not? Nobody will miss him.)" - Kyo
"(Even if that was the case, I know you're not a killer Kyo. You have had many chances to kill him and you never took them, I know you won't do it.)" - Athena
"(Don't tempt me, Athena. Because you have no idea how much I have been thinking of end with his misery in the past.)" - Kyo
"(I won't repeat myself about it, but I just know the Kyo I know wouldn't kill him. He would stand for his principles.)" - Athena
The group arrives at the top of the tower
"(Dr. Brown, are you ready?)" - Asks Siruu using her telephatic power in front of a control panel in the castle
"Yes, we are taking position." - Dr Brown and Maxima prepare things as the harness Brown puts on Maxima charges his body, with him opening his back with two panels that would detect movement
"Put your hands there, charge your chis and the let the energy flow but don't drop it until I give you the signal." - Dr. Brown
Kyo and Athena nod as they put their hands in the control panels charging their chis as much as they can
"Potency leveling up, 10%, 30%, 40%... 80%!" - Maxima sees the levels of power rising as he and Dr. Brown aim at the infamous Rugname
"Now Siruu! Open the shield!" - Dr. Brown
"(Shields opening in three... Two... ONE!)" - Siruu
The shield opens itself catching the attention of the Mars People who move towards the city of Terraxia
"Is now or never, guys!" - Dr. Brow
"Ready?" - Dr. Brown
"YES!" - Kyo, Athena and Maxima finally shoot Maxima's laser with this big laser formed of purple and crimson fire being seen firing from Maxima's chest towards the Rugname
*Blaam* - The mega ray impacts in the ship for the surprise of the Mars People who stop their run towards Terraxia shocked
"It worked!" - Seirah
"The ship... Is falling down!" - Chizuru and co see how the beam combined of Athena's and Kyo's powers with Maxima's canon and nuclear battery worked, affecting the ship making it slowly fall to the ground
"Ah! Ah!" - Both Kyo and Athena are seen panting after firing the laser, falling to their knees grabing their hands
"It worked! I knew it would work!" - Dr. Brown
"Ah damn, my systems will have to reboot themselves." - Says Maxima as alot of electrical rays are seen coming from him
"Are you alright?" - Kyo
"I will be, just some minutes." - Maxima
"This isn't over yet, Kyo and Athena, we need to help the rest." - Dr. Brown
"I'll catch up with you in a moment, I need at least 15 minutes at much." - Maxima
"Alright." - Dr. Brown, Kyo and Athena now make their way down
The Rugname fully impacts of the ground with silence dominating the area
*Slussh* - Until a door is open with a large army appearing looking very angry with bright white eyes
"Prepare yourselves, guys. The easy step is done, now it comes the hard part." - Seirah
"And that is?" - Mai
"Survive!" - Seirah and co stare in the horizon as they see the large amount of Mars People coming towards them alongside their experiments, robots and flying eyes
