"Stop hurting him, Kacchan! You've gone too far!!"
A 4-year-old boy with messy green hair extends his arm protectively in front of another boy who's completely injured, crying his eyes out in pain. The green haired boy is Izuku Midoriya, the protagonist of this story.
"Huh? What's this?" A spiky ash blonde-haired boy scowls as he slams his right fist into his left palm, creating an explosion as smoke comes out of it. Besides him is a skinny boy with fingers longer than average and a chubby boy with a pair of red wings. "You're trying to play hero, Deku? Even if you're quirkless?"
"Why? Why do you even hurt him? He has done nothing wrong!" The green haired boy said in frustration, something he never expected, especially towards the boy in front of him, Katsuki Bakugou. Izuku and him have known each other thanks to their parents being close friends and they set play dates for them when they were just toddlers.
But things changed when Katsuki gained his quirk and Izuku didn't. From there, they start to drift apart. Katsuki was seen as a golden child while Izuku only received pity looks.
And it gets worse to the point there's no trace of their bonds anymore. Izuku refuses to accept it and keeps calling him Kacchan, his nickname to his once close friend, while hoping things will go back to where it was. But Bakugou sees Izuku as nothing more than a menace, someone who's weak but always gets in his way.
Right now, Izuku is defending a boy who gots attacked by Katsuki. Katsuki saw this and can't help but be angry. Someone as weak as Deku always get in his way, always stubbornly tries to stop him, the 'future number 1' hero.
"That bastard claims he's got a better quirk than me! I'm just going to show him his place!" These words make Izuku want to prove Bakugou wrong and he'll try to fix his friendship with Bakugou in the future. But, not this time.
When Izuku heard those words, he couldn't help but be in a state of disbelief. In his mind, Izuku can't help but think that Bakugou's words are utterly ridiculous. That's not the right reason to beat a fellow kid to a pulp. This causes Izuku's frustration to the limit.
"Y-you can't just beat someone because of that!! T-that's not the right reason to do what you do!!" Izuku yelled as Bakugou reeled back in shock. He never heard 'Deku' speak in such a tone. "You're not acting like a hero right now!!! Y-you're acting like a villain!!!"
A silence overtook the whole park. Both boys next to Bakugou stare at Izuku in shock, not expecting the boy they look down on to have the balls to utter such words. Bakugou stared at 'Deku' in disbelief before his hair shadowed his eyes.
"Take that back..." Bakugou's voice was eerily calm as Izuku felt chills down his spine. "TAKE THAT BACK, YOU WORTHLESS NERD!!!"
The last thing Izuku saw was a flash before darkness overtook him.

SLAP!!!!
"How could you fucking do this, brat!?!?"
Izuku winced as a spiky ash blond-haired woman who looked like Bakugou slapped Bakugou harshly. A lean and tall woman with long green hair hugs Izuku while sobbing.
These two women are Mitsuki Bakugou and Inko Midoriya respectively. Katsuki's rampage has gone too far and the boys who were with Bakugou are so scared they call the adults. Izuku was brought to the hospital by an ambulance and their parents were called.
Now, Izuku's left eye is covered in bandages. They haven't heard what the doctor said about his situation.
"He was supposed to be your friend!! Why the fuck did you do it!?!" Mitsuki yelled in anger.
"He fucking calls me a villain!!" Bakugou roared back as Mitsuki turned towards Izuku with a disbelief look. Izuku can't help but get frustrated at how lack of context Bakugou's words are, looking like he's trying to cover his ass by not telling the full truth.
"I said you're acting like a villain!! You try to attack someone because the teacher praises him for having a good quirk! And you somehow misin...misinp..., you somehow think that he claims he has a stronger quirk than you!!!" Izuku yelled back as Mitsuki stared at Katsuki in shock.
"I was just fucking put him in his place! You get in my fucking way!!" Bakugou yelled.
"I'm trying to stop you from hitting an innocent student!!! Of course, I'm in your way!!" Izuku screams back. He can't believe Bakugou has become such a person. He can't even recognize his old friend anymore.
"Enough! You both stop yelling!" Inko said as they both shut up. "Bakugou, you're in the wrong here! You shouldn't beat someone just because of a word! That shouldn't be something you should do, no matter what you are! And Izuku, I get you want him to stop, but comparing him to a villain is too much!!"
"..." Izuku looks down in guilt while Bakugou simply tsk'ed. Mitsuki reels Bakugou's shirt collar, causing him to glare at Mitsuki. Suddenly, the doctor comes in with a nervous look.
"Greetings, Ms Midoriya..." Inko can't help but notice the doctor's nervousness and she's having a bad feeling.
"Doctor...is my son going to be okay?" The doctor grew more nervous before sighing.
"We're very lucky to get your child into the hospital as soon as possible. But..." The doctor takes a deep breath. "...the explosion has caused a lot of damage, it leaves a scar on the boy's face. And..."
"..." Inko grew more and more nervous.
"...the explosions have damaged his eyes. I'm sorry, ma'am...but your son won't be able to see with his left eye." A silence overtook the whole room as a tear escaped Izuku's right eye. He starts to sob and wipes off the tear from his eye but it won't stop.
Inko pulls Izuku into a hug as she also cries for her baby boy. Mitsuki simply stares in horror while Katsuki remains silent.
"...leave." Inko's tone was stone cold before glaring at Mitsuki with her teary eyes. Mitsuki flinched before hesitantly nodding and grabbing Katsuki while walking out of the room.
It wasn't a pretty day.
Midoriya's Apartment
Musutafu, Japan
Izuku blankly sits on the chair while looking at the computer, his bandage remains on his face. The computer continues to play a video of a bulky blond-haired man saving a lot of people. He continues to stare in silence as Inko knocks on the door before opening the door while holding a bowl of Katsudon.
"Izuku..." Inko called, getting his attention.
"Hey, mama..." Izuku mutters as Inko can't help but feel sad. Izuku's voice sounds like he's in despair. Inko enters the room and places the bowl next to the computer.
"You should eat your dinner, Izu." Izuku simply nodded and started eating.
"...mom..." Izuku said before looking at his mom. "...I can't be a hero...can I?" This broke Inko's heart as she couldn't help to let out the tears escaping her eyes. She never heard him sound so hopeless...like he's given up, and it sounds so wrong.
Inko never felt so conflicted in her life, except the time that Hisashi and her divorced. On one hand, she wants Izuku to be happy and she wants to reignite his hope. But on the other hand, she didn't want Izuku to get hurt anymore. The world is just too cruel and she didn't want her baby boy to experience such cruelty.
But is it worth giving up her baby boy's happiness? Her mind ran in hundred miles per hour as she continues to feel conflicted.
'No...I...I should do what I must...as a parent.' Inko thought before taking a deep breath.
"...if you're going to be a hero...you'll going to need to work harder than others..." Inko said, getting Izuku's attention. "...there are...a lot of bad guys out there...they have quirks...some strong...some dangerous...you'll need to push yourself...to overcome it...if you are willing to do it, then yes. You...can be a hero, Izuku."
She is a single mother to a young boy, and despite her overprotectiveness and wish for Izuku's best, she knows that she can't sacrifice her child's happiness. So, even if it's a heavy pill to swallow, she will support her son's dream and help him.
"..." Izuku's lips shakily turn into a smile as he starts crying again. He always wanted to hear that since he was diagnosed as quirkless and he finally hears it. It feels like the dam finally bursted.
Suddenly, the computer glitched as it slowly replaced with '0' and '1', catching both mother and son off guard. Then, out of nowhere, a figure popped out of the computer and landed on Izuku's lap.
"Hello!" The mother and son duo scream in shock as they finally get a clear view of said figure. It's a puffy creature with very short limbs covered in grey and white fur, light green eyes, and a few yellow furs resembling spikes.
"W-what!?" Izuku said in shock as Inko was panicking.
"My name's Pusurimon! It's nice to meet you, Izuku!" Izuku widened his eyes as the creature called themselves Pusurimon and introduced himself.
"H-huh? How did you know my name!?" Izuku asked in disbelief as Pusurimon grinned widely.
"Well, I'm your Digimon partner! Of course, I know your name!" Izuku gets more and more confused as Pusurimon gasps. "What happens to your eyes!?!"
"I...don't want to talk about it ..." Izuku mutters while holding the bandage.
"Oh, okay! I won't pry!" Pusurimon's reply caught Izuku by surprise but he didn't mind as he started to pet Pusurimon as they started to purr, getting Izuku to giggle.
"P-Pusurimon...what do you mean by Digimon Partner?" Inko asked as Pusurimon perked up.
"Oh, right!" Pusurimon pulls out a device from their fur and attaches it to Izuku's wrist, as it transforms into some sort of watch. "For starters, Digimon is a short for Digital Monster! We're creatures made out of data living in a world called Digital World, another universe completely made out of digital data! As for Digimon Partners, they're Digimons chosen to be partners of other humans! We call them Digi-Destined!"
"Digi-Destined..." Izuku mutters as Pusurimon grinned.
"Yup! Starting from now, I'm your partner! My job is to be his protector!!" Pusurimon said while puffing their chest, causing inko to giggle at their cuteness.
"..." Izuku looks at his partner before looking at the watch on his wrist.
"Oh, right! That's Digi-Vice, a tool that will help you more with any Digimon related! And also a sign that you're a Digi-Destined and my partner!" Pusurimon said as Izuku never felt overwhelmed before. He feels relaxed at Pusurimon's easy-to-approach demeanor and after what happens to Bakugou, he feels like he no longer has a friend, and being a kid, he feels more desperate. So, the sentences come out of his mouth without him realizing.
"...w-would you...would you be my friend?" Izuku stuttered as Pusurimon blinked before giggling.
"You're silly! Aren't we already are?" Izuku widens his eyes before hugging Pusurimon to his chest. Pusurimon felt Izuku's feelings and hugged back, as much as their short limbs could do.
Inko saw this and couldn't help but smile. This has been the weirdest moment in her life, but for some reason, she didn't mind about it. And she has a feeling that this partnership will remain forever and there will be more.
To be continued
