Chapter - 1

Morning 9 am:
In Cid Bureau:

Abhijeet enters the bureau, looking tired as always, with a file in his hand. He looked towards Acp's cabin and found him talking to someone on a call with a shocked and tense expression on his face look confused and got a little worried about seeing him like this. He noted himself, he thought to ask about this later and then moved towards his desk and started doing his file work.

After some time everyone started entering the bureau and wishing him good morning. He was replying with a plain tone, which is nowadays common for everyone, because, for the last 3 years, they have seen him like this...

After some time :

Acp Pradyuman called Abhijeet in his cabin...

He knocked slightly which was his habit nowadays. Acp without looking upward said 'come in'

'Good morning sir!' said Abhijeet after entering his cabin looking confused about why Acp called him.

'Good morning, betho Abhijeet.' said Acp while looking at him.

After sitting on a chair silently, Abhijeet looked towards Acp silently and tried to read his expressions.

Acp looked a little lost and tensed while thinking with lines on his forehead and moving his paperweight between his fingers.

After some silence:

'Kya baat h sir aap kuch preshan lg rhe h, sab thik toh h na'? asked Abhijeet with a worried expression on his face.

'Abhijeet woh' after a pause 'mei kese kahu smj nhi aa raha' said Acp with hesitation.

'Kya baat h sir koi case ki tension h kya, ya fir koi mission aaya h'? asked Abhijeet (looking confused and tensed seeing Acp's hesitation)

'Nhi... nhi aisi koi baat nhi h' said Acp while thinking something.

'Toh fir btaiye naa sir aisi kya baat h jisne apko itna preshan kr diya h' said Abhijeet, now getting worried.

'Abhijeet woh Dcp ka call aaya tha kuch der pehele', after a pause 'unhone ye bataya ki Hyderabad ki cid team Mumbai aa rhi ek important case ke silsile mei' said Acp while looking at a change of expressions on Abhijeet's face.

Abhijeet looked down, a serene and painful expression on his face, then after some time he looked upward and found that Acp was looking towards him with concern in his eyes.

'Haan abhijeet daya wapis aa raha h' said Acp while looking straight into his eyes which now got moist.

After some silence:

'Ohh..kayyy.. sir' said Abhijeet without looking at him.

'Wese konsa case h sir ye, jiske liye dono teams ko sath kaam krna h?" Abhijeet inquired curiously.

'Ek high profile case h Abhijeet, jisme bde bde business man aur political leaders ka bhi involvement h' said Acp glancing towards Abhijeet feeling bad for his right hand

'Okay sir ' said Abhijeet blankly.

'Ab mei jau sir, file bhi complete krni h' said Abhijeet in a low voice.

'Haaa aa jao' said Acp while looking tensed.

Outside of Acp's cabin:

Abhijeet was sitting at his desk pretending to be busy at work. On the other hand, Freddy Sachin and Purvi glanced at the cabin door open, and Acp came out looking tensed about something.

'Ahm..' Acp cleared his throat to gain the attention of his officers, 'Voh.. Mr. Manish murder case ke investigation k liye High command ne Hyderabad CID ke kuch specialized officers ko bheja hai.'

Everyone's face lit up hearing this except him. Freddy and Sachin stood up from their place and walked towards their boss excitedly.

'Sir? Iska mtlb ki-'

'Haan Freddy! Un officers mei Daya bhi shamil hai.' He smiled lightly but painfully when he glanced at Abhijeet from the corner of his eyes.

Freddy jumped excitedly and almost hugged Sachin to mark his happiness on his Daya sir's return. But Purvi, though happy, felt bad for the person who was still at his desk, trying his best not to react.

A/n: So why is Abhijeet behaving this way? Why is ACP concerned about this whole 'daya return' thing?
And first of all, why is Daya returning as a Hyderabad CID officer?
