In a land by the name of Zelania, the quaint little town square, off lake Juno-Hoya, was bustling with life and business. Women were shopping at the merchants nearby, and children rushed around looking for pocket change in hopes of buying candy. However, children of the nobles all gathered in the small library of Kutokosa. The children were sitting politely, watching as their elder preached to them about the last king, before their current Ruler. Lost in a story of the past, they all were.
"…And that's how Queen Sanji met King Kundikai."
The Elder Fuma ended her story.
"Lady Fuma?" A young boy asked the elder woman, tugging on her dress lightly.
"Yes?" She asked him.
"How come we have an unmarried Queen instead of a King?"
The Young Boy questioned, eager to know the reason for the oddity.
"Well…"
Lady Fuma started.
"Since the prince passed, the former King and Queen's daughter received the role. And, it would be Ruler Undikai instead of Queen Undikai.. Remember, young one. When a Queen assumes a masculine Role, we call them a Ruler. Vice Versa…"
Lady Fuma explained, eager with the young boy's curiosity.
"What is the story of Ruler Undikai?"
A girl asked, kneeling at Lady Fuma's feet like the rest of the children.
"It all began when Undikai was born…"
"In the Fall, on a rainy day, a Zelanian baby girl was born. Her father named her after himself. He named her Undikai the fierce, even though her mother wanted a feminine traditional Zelanian name. Like Susha, or Tima."
"She grew up in a wonderful, loving Royal family.. every gown and dress at her fingertips. A rebel she was, wearing old clothes from her older brother, Keleo.
She longed to fight, to be on the battlefield… but her mother kept her in line, training her on walking with grace and poise… but Undikai never picked those habits up.
She would escape the castle, climbing trees and swimming in lakes, like you would expect of a young child. She found find sticks and carve swords and knives to practice with. A true fighter she was born.
Her parents decided she was fit to be a Ruler rather than a Queen. Her mother influenced Undikai to find love, and prepare to take on the throne. Her father and mother were sick, and old when she was barely a toddler.
At age eleven, she took on the throne, anointed with oils and fragrance, and adorned with the crown of hope and admiration for her kingdom.
And that's the story of Undikai, sweet ones."
But even loving stories are lost in time. Tales are twisted and retold…
The story of Undikai is a puzzle with missing pieces.
—————————————————————
"At once will you implement what we've discussed!" Abame exclaimed, absolutely raging at the late discussion.
"My flower, you know I do not have enough energy to completely change myself within a day."
Undikai quickly said in a humble tone, aching to soothe her irritated wife. She quickly sat up from her throne, and dusted offer her trousers. She took in the hands of her spouse tenderly, following to place those hands upon her own heart.
"I know that you demand your wants and needs, and you know that I try my best to implement those very principles…"
Undikai said soothingly as she placed her own hands upon Abame shoulders.
"But you must understand it's not hard to tweak a bit of those knobs you've set within yourself!" Abame said with a whine in her voice.
"Darling.. I can't exactly change how much I please you behind closed doors. I've a duty, over a kingdom, my sweetheart."
She reasoned. Undikai tried to make use of her explanations.
"Well if you can't change simple things then I will leave!"
The wife said, pulling away from Undikai..
"Wait, Abame!"
Undikai called, the uncertainty weighting her voice.
"Abame.. I promise you I'll be a better spouse.. just please don't leave like this.."
She whined, tugging on the edge of her cape, searching for some sort of reassurance.
The Queen smiled at how her threat affected the Ruler.
"Oh darling~.." She purred, twirling her gown.
"You could've said so!~" She hummed, taking back Undikai's hands. She placed a hand upon the Ruler's cheek, loving the act of controlling such a powerful figure with mere words of malice.
"Oh my love.."
Undikai said, a heavy sigh at the end of her sentence.
"You've scared me pale."
The Ruler chuckled as her Queen's thumb brushed against her bottom lip.
Undikai had nothing but pure love for Abame. Pure, unfailing, unconditional affection and love for her Queen. She understood that she wouldn't exactly get that back.. but all she wanted was some devotion.
Abame looked up, her Smokey feminine hair eyes meeting the Ruler's tender and tired ones. "Now.. I must see… my… mother. Yes my mother.. I have to leave quickly before she falls asleep."
The Queen quickly commented pulling away from Undikai.
"But Love.. it's the moon is nearing the highest point?" Undikai spoke, her eyes saddening. Her lips formed a pout.
"Yes my dear.. which is why I must depart."
Abame purred.
_
"..farewell my flower!!"
Undikai called out as Abame walked down the palace stairs.
The young Ruler seemed puzzled. Normally Abe would bring a carriage and guards whenever she left without Undikai. And it was also rare—very, rare she left without Undikai. Her choice of clothing was questionable as well.. Undikai wondered why she'd wear her best and most expensive silks in a scarlet colour to see her mother.
The Ruler brushed the confusions off. "My Flower wouldn't ever lie to me.. right?" She thought to herself. Maybe it was just her flamboyant wife's choice of clothes. At least Abame brought her hand fan along.
Undikai stepped back in her palace, allowing the warm air to fill her cold body as she walked throughout the palace. She could never sleep without Abame..
"Your Majesty?"
A servant called out, specifically Yujino. Yujino swiftly kneeled at Undikai's feet, honoring his master. "M-majesty.. may I ask.. why are you up s—so late..?" He asked with a tremble in his voice.
"Stand young one."
Undikai ordered tenderly. Yujino scrambled to his feet, bowing before looking up at Undikai.
"If it eases you to know… Lady Abame has presumably left to see her mother."
The Ruler replied.
"May I inform the chef to make you something? May I serve you some tea…? Gossip maybe…?"
She thought about it for a moment.. Abame would absolutely kill her if Undikai indulged in some Gossip… but she wasn't here, and Undikai was a grown woman. She could make decisions for herself.
"I suppose some alcohol would hit the spot."
She informed Yujino.
