Ladybug jumped slightly as she dangled her legs over the edge of the building. She was at school, enjoying a brief moment of respite and she flipped open her compact, finding a text from Adrien.
Adrien: In Library, need friend.
Ladybug: Be there soon.
"Hey, what are you studying?" Ladybug whispered, even though she knew that the class was doing an Egyptian unit right now. "Ancient Egypt. I love history, but if I cram any more info in my brain, I'll burst at the seams." "One of the first Ladybugs came from Egypt, you know. My Kwami told me."
"See, why couldn't you teach history? You'd make it glamorous, exciting!" "Why, of course," Ladybug batted her lashes. "I should think I know a thing or two about history being 5000 years old." "You are not!"
Adrien smirked, staring at her. "What are you doing?" Ladybug asked. "Browsing your beautiful face," he grinned. "Oh. My. Kwami. Was that a pun?" Adrien shrugged. "Possibly." "So, what are you studying about Egypt?" "Hieroglyphics." Adrien showed her his book, and Ladybug was amazed that the pictures drawn so long ago, still were vibrant, as if some had been painted yesterday.
"Hey, I have an idea!" Adrien cried. "Uh-oh, when you get ideas, Agreste, sometimes I get scared." "No, no," Adrien took her hand. "This one's a good one. You can do your own version of hieroglyphics on me."
"You mean give you tattoos?" Ladybug shrieked. A chorus of shh was sung around her. "Sorry," she called back to the choir.
Adrien held out a thick marker, wearing his cutest face. "Please?" "Fine. Roll up your sleeves, and you owe me a mocha."
Twenty minutes later, Adrien sporting his new hieroglyphics smiled. "That was fun. I'm just glad this will wash off in the bathroom later." Ladybug froze. "This isn't a permemt marker is it?" "Quick, to the bathroom!" Adrien declared and now it was his turn to be shushed.
"I'm going to need a Venti after this," Ladybug mumbled as she followed Adrien, praying the marker would come right off.
