A challenge I set myself based on the first two paragraphs that I wrote months ago. I'd call this one bittersweet. I do not own Rizzoli and Isles, they belong to Tess Gerritson and TNT.

This could be just another PWP (Plot? What Plot?) Rizzles short story. But I threw in just a sprinkle of a crime, and an unusual hero solving it… So, there you have it. A PWP Rizzles story with a hint of crime and some naughtiness.

They'd be on the couch, pressed against each other as usual and Maura would be half asleep and leaning on Jane, and Jane would struggle out from under her and their mouths would brush and Maura would wake as though from the sleep of a thousand years, watching Jane with hungry eyes, ready to be devoured. xpost from sep 2023

Maura looked at ease, the way she hadn't lately. She looked comfortable with Jane's family in a way she no longer was with Jane. It was okay, though. Because Maura had earned her place in their lives. She was so supportive and genuine and generous and gorgeous. It was no wonder everyone loved her. It was no wonder Jane loved her. It's been a long day, always - ain't that right

Lydia comments to Maura that she got the best Rizzoli, and Maura has to process that.

Detective Jane Rizzoli paced back and forth in her apartment, a determined glint in her eyes. Today was the day she would propose to the love of her life, Dr. Maura Isles, and she wanted it to be unforgettable. Short story relating to the just the proposal from Jane, this is part of a larger story How Long Is Forever? which expands upon these chapters.

What if Maura answered Jane’s call in time and Jane heard the kidnapping take place? And then Maura actually using some self defense and medical knowledge we saw and heard about her learning in the earlier seasons because it always bothered me how little they had her fight against Joe Harris.

A story of how much things can change in a matter of seconds and how much love and family can help to heal the wounds inflicted by what life throw at us. Somewhat AU with R&I canon bits.

They live separately in their chosen paths but along the way process what they really need in their lives. They realize they can't be without each other and are actually more than friends.
