The day of the Prawn, I didn't even bother showing up at school. With the Moonstone gone, our pack would soon die. As Luna, it was my duty to look after the pack. I had ignored the now…mostly white hair I had now in favour of looking after my pack, hunting for blankets and distributing warm foor to my Packmates. Wanda, as she was the youngest, seemed to be taking the loss of the Moonstone worse than the others, curled up in the corner with the other Pups, trying to conserve body heat. I walked up to the Pups with another blanket, draping it over my sister. Wanda cracked her eyes opened and whimpered. I smiled softly, brushing a piece of hair behind her ear. "It's gonna be ok." I whispered to her, gently nudging my head against hers. "You're gonna be fine." I looked up when Zed walked in. I crossed my arms tightly, walking up to him with Willa and Wyatt.
"They were wrong to destroy Seabrook Power." Zed said. "And I was wrong about Werewolves. You have every right to fight for who you are."
"Yeah, but what are we now, Zombie?" Wyatt asked.
"You're fierce, proud Werewolves."
"Yeah." Willa scoffed, "They think we're Monsters."
"We are Monsters."
"So, what?" I asked softly, "We're Monsters, big whoop. That's not gonna change the fact that they destroyed the one thing that could keep us alive."
"Come to Prawn."
"Are you serious, Zed?" I questioned, my arms falling to my sides, "Look around you, most of our Pack is sick."
"One hour." Zed but in, "Come to Prawn for one hour and then you can come back to the Den." I looked over to Willa, who was frowning.
"Babe." I muttered. She looked over at me, "It's not long, we can be back before Moonpeak." Willa bit her lip for a second before turning back to Zed.
"One hour." She agreed.
TIMESKIP
Somehow, we managed to get ready for Prawn in record time. I was wearing a short purple dress with an open back that went to my knees. The chest part of it was beaded, while the skirt was made of purple furr. I was wearing gold heels that had a strap around my ankle, as well as sleepers that lined my ears. My hair was left in its natural curls. My Moonstone rested against my chest comfortably. Wanda was bouncing along happily beside me, the excitement of the night allowing her a moment to forget her pain. Granted, Wanda didn't go to Seabrook, but if we were breaking the law, I might as well let her tag along. We each had a purple corsage on our wrists. Mine, courtesy of Willa, and Wanda's was given to her by Wyatt. I held Wanda's hand as we approached Bucky and his cronies. "You guys can't be here." Bucky stated, "There are laws against this."
"Bad laws are meant to be broken." Zed told him.
"And Monsters don't follow the rules." Eliza added. The two Zombies hi-fived. "Zombies are a part of Seabrook, Bucky, we deserve to be here."
"We're a part of Seabrook too." Wyatt spoke up, "The Originals, in fact." Bucky turned to the Z Alert behind him which had still not been taken down.
"Someone's gotta stop you." Bucky said. He walked up and went to pull the lever. Willa wasn't having any of that and stepped forward, snarling at him. "Welcome to Prawn." Bucky relented, walking inside with his posse. Willa started to cough, prompting me to hurry up to her. I set my hand on Willa's back.
"Are you ok?" I asked softly. Willa nodded. I gave her a smile and linked arms with her, walking into the Prawn together. Some Zombies and Wolves pared up and walked around, while some of the Zombies went to find their Human friends. A slow song started to play, prompting me to pull Willa close and dance to the music. I closed my eyes, pressing close to Willa.
"I've been meaning to ask." Willa started gently. "Whats happening with your hair?"
"I don't know." I admitted to her. "It just…started going whiter after we figured out where the Moonstone was."
"Where you figured out where the Moonstone was." Willa corrected. Before I could respond, a large earthquake rumbled under our feet, knocking down decorations and even sending a few people tumbling. We tried to run, to escape the natural disaster, but we had to stop when a large crack appeared in front of us, emitting a purple glow.
"The energy from the Moonstone must have created the fault line." Zed guessed, "If we follow this crack then it may lead us to the Moonstone."
"So it's only buried and not destroyed." Addison realised. I clutched Willa for support as the ground shook again violently.
"We have to get to it." Wynter stated.
"Then what are we waiting for?" I asked hysterically. My heart was pounding, I could feel the pull of something powerful, begging me to follow.
"Quickly, while we still can." Willa ordered. I was the first one down the hole, my heels making a solid 'clack' on the stone as I slid through the debris. "Waverly!" Willa called. "Wait up!" I ignored her as I felt the pull of energy, allowing my instincts to overtake me and lead me to our most sacred treasure. I maneuvered through debris until a purple glow overtook my vision. I stared in awe at the treasure in front of me, the Moonstone. "Here it is!" The pack gathered around the Moonstone, taking off our necklaces. We pressed them against the Crystal. They lit up with power. When I clenched my fist around my necklace, I felt the power well up within me as I snarled, our Pack had our lifesource once more. Suddenly, the area shook. "We have to move it out of here."
"The Legend says that together, our Pack can move the stone." Wyatt told us.
"Then everyone together." I said. "We gotta lift it at the same time." The Pack grabbed the sides of the Moonstone and tried to lift it. We gave out easily, the Moonstone not moving an inch. Why? Why couldn't we do this?
"It's too heavy." Wynter complained.
"There's not enough of us." Willa realised.
"Then maybe you need to expand your pack." A voice spoke up. We looked over to see Addison, Zed, and a whole load of Zombies and Humans. "We came here to help. Come on everyone, we got this." Everyone grabbed the sides of the Moonstone, "Together! Lift!" With everybody's combined strength, we were able to lift the Moonstone. There was another tremor, and the entrance closed up. We pit the Moonstone down again. Zed slammed his hand against the stone slab. My heart plummeted into my stomach.
"Chambers collapsed, we can't carry the Moonstone through." Wyatt said.
"Your Z-Band." Eliza said, turning to Zed. "It's still broken. Zed, take it off. Lift the slab. You can do this."
"I'm not ready." Zed protested, "What if I can't control it?" There was another tremor. I latched onto Willa, keeping us both upright.
"Zed." Addison called, prompting the Zombie to turn to her, "You have to." Zed looked around at everyone for a second before reluctantly removing his Z-Band. Almost instantly, veins appeared across his skin and he roared.
"Come on, you can do this." Eliza assured. Zed turned to the stone slab, lifting it easily.
"Come on guys, the Moonstone!" I called, lifting it again with everyone's help. We were easily able to move the Moonstone. Once it was free, there was a thud. We put the Moonstone down and saw that the entrance was closed, with no Zed, and dust everywhere. Addison pushed forward to try and find her boyfriend.
"Zed!" Addison cried. I clutched Willa's arm, scared for my friend. There was a few beats of silence...until there was a light, and Zed appeared from the dust, his Z-Band secure on his wrist. I let out a sigh of relief. Addison embraced her boyfriend as he came close. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah." Zed assured when they parted, "I'm me."
"We crushed it!" Wynter cheered. "We nailed it! We so rock, yes!" Wynter stopped herself and turned to Willa, "Too much?" Willa turned to me and I gave her a half shrug. Willa turned to Wynter again.
"Perfect." She said. "We did it!" I threw my head back and howled, the sound echoing through the cave. My Pack joined in, our joyful cries joining together. I looked at Willa and smiled. Willa returned the gesture. Suddenly, she grabbed my cheeks and pulled me into a kiss. My eyes widened for a split second before they closed happily as I kissed back. One of my hands found hers on my cheek while the other slid around her waist to pull her closer. We then separated, smiling at each other. We held each other in a tight hug before Eliza pushed forward, her tablet in hand. She pointed the camera at Addison and Zed,
"Say 'brains'." She said. Addison and Zed grinned,
"Brains!" They chorused as Eliza took the photo.
"We're getting our first Zombie on the Prawn Wall of Fame." The Pack howled in happiness, that was surely a step forward for Non-Human creatures everywhere.
"Maybe next year a Werewolf will be on the Wall of Fame." I commented.
"Maybe even two." Willa added.
"I hope we do too." Addison replied. I looked up at Willa and smiled.
