The Grand Magic Games Day Five

***POTD***

A gentle breeze blew through the window of the hotel suite as a full moon shone down over the city of Crocus, illuminating the room in its pale light.

Natsu stood at the window, naked, enjoying the breeze, as he allowed himself a brief moment to truly relax. No thoughts of Alvarez plots, Demons, Dragons or his own past failings…

No. It was good to take these kinds of moments to just relax and think about absolutely nothing. It almost made him feel normal.

"I'm surprised you're awake?"

Looking to his left, the naked form of Elise appeared next to him, her body still somewhat slick with sweat and other fluids from the nights earlier activities.

"I believe you were told about my absurd stamina Elise?"

"I was. I also bore witness to it firsthand," the God Slayer smirked in response. "Our Guild really is full of monsters, isn't it?"

Looking back toward the bed, Natsu smiled in agreement at the sleeping forms of Erza, Mira, Kagura and Kiara, the latter having half fallen out of bed in her sleep at some point. Looking back to Elise, he noticed she hadn't done the same, her eyes remaining solely upon him.

"Natsu…"

"What is it, Elise?"

"Thank you."

"Hm? For what?"

"You know my past with… Lahar, and you know my only experience with sex was with him," Elise replied quietly, gently taking his hand. "I saw how you handled Mira and Kiara roughly, and how you just let Erza and Kagura experiment… But with me, you took me gently…slowly. I never specified how I wanted it, but you somehow gave me exactly what I wanted?"

"In my experience Elise, no woman likes it exactly the same. Sex isn't something you just DO a certain way. It's like a dance between two bodies, a rhythm between two forms that are temporarily joining as one."

"Is that really how you see sex?"

"It's the best way I can describe it without sounding like a man-whore," Natsu replied dryly, eliciting a small giggle from the God Slayer. "Mira likes her sex to be hard and rough, as does Kiara apparently. Erza and Kagura like to have more control, to experiment and test how far they can go. But you, you haven't done anything sexual since you were raped by Lahar, that being your only experience. Because of that, the best way to show you how it should really feel is to be slow and gentle. Allow you to experience the pleasure and feel safe at the same time."

"It's strange…but you're right. For a long time after Lahar, I thought it was meant to hurt before it felt good. But you did things that…"

Natsu smirked at the blush Elise now sported as she remembered some of the things he'd done to her earlier that night. Placing his hand atop her head, he ran his fingers through her hair as he leaned down and pressed their foreheads together.

"Thank you, Elise, for trusting me to show you how much better it can be."

"This feels…nice," Elise whispered, her eyes slowly closing as Natsu captured her lips in a chaste kiss. "Now come back to bed with us Natsu…"

The Dragon Slayer smiled as she led him back to the bed, the pair gently putting Kiara back into it before setting down at the center. The God Slayer draped herself over him as there wasn't much available space anywhere else, as she felt his hardening member slowly erect itself between her thighs.

"Seems like someone got a bit excited again?"

"You're a very exciting girl Elise, what can I say," Natsu whispered back teasingly, lightly kissing her neck as the God Slayer felt her arousal beginning to climb.

"And you're a terrible comedian," Elise giggled, even as she slowly lined up his cock to her slick entrance. "But a great lover…"

Natsu didn't respond with words, softly moaning instead as Elise slowly slid down his length. His hands found their way to her thighs as he rubbed them up and down, before making their way to her hips as she began to rock them gently back and forth.

Looking up at the God Slayer, he was mesmerized by her face. Her hair, which was normally done up into a ponytail, was free and loose, partially obscuring it from view. Her sweat had caught some of it across her forehead, as other strands stuck to her neck.

He found it beautiful.

Leaning up as she rode him, he captured her lips in a passionate kiss, his tongue battling hers for dominance as she adjusted her position, wrapping her legs around his back. His hand ran across the back of her head, tangling in her hair as they broke off their kiss, pressing their sweaty foreheads together and panting heavily.

Neither of them moved, content to just lean against each other in the moment. Their enhanced senses drowned one another in their respective forms, the scent of musk and arousal only driving their lust further as they held one another tightly.

"Elise…"

"Just kiss me as you do it…"

He didn't need to be told twice as they recaptured one another's lips, moaning softly as Natsu released his seed deep inside her. Elise gently bucked against him, her moans turning into soft whimpers as she tried to force him even deeper into her as she rode out a powerful orgasm of her own.

Their lips broke apart, though she licked his, eliciting an amused panted chuckle from the Dragon Slayer, who kissed her cheek in turn. His smile quickly faded however as he noticed tears beginning to spill from her eyes, her lip quivering.

"E-Elise!? Hey, what's wrong," Natsu cooed soothingly, gently cupping her right cheek with his hand as he used his thumb to wipe away some tears.

"Oh… I'm crying, aren't I," the God Slayer sniffled. "Sorry Natsu…"

"Hey, no need to apologize to me," Natsu replied gently. "Just tell me what's wrong?"

"N-Nothing's wrong, and that's why I'm crying," the God Slayer replied as she suddenly leaned in and kissed him deeply once again, grinding herself against his form.

"Mmpffh! B-But then if nothing's wrong, then why are you crying," Natsu panted as they broke off the kiss. "Are you-?"

"I'm happy you idiot," Elise smiled as tears began to flow freely down her cheeks, cupping his face with her hands as she stifled a laugh. "Thank you for…for…"

Placing a finger against her lips, Natsu shook his head. He already knew what she was going to say, and it needn't be said.

Instead, he wrapped his arms around her, as the God Slayer wrapped her arms around his shoulders, her legs tightening around him as they hugged it out instead.

Once they finally separated, Elise unwrapping herself from Natsu's form, the pair laid down once again, with Elise planting a gentle kiss on Natsu's cheek before resting her head on his chest.

"You're a good man Natsu, no matter what anyone else says."

Natsu didn't respond, instead silently wrapping an arm around her which eliciting a sigh of content from the God Slayer. In truth, he wondered what she'd think if she knew the truth about him.

What would any of the girls think for that matter?

These were the thoughts that often times plagued his mind ever since he'd discovered the truth about himself. What would those who believed in him think if they knew he was E.N.D?

As he closed his eyes, he pushed those thoughts aside for the moment, content to focus only on the happy ones he'd made tonight instead.

***POTD***

The next day found Natsu waking to an empty room. After a lengthy shower, the Dragon Slayer reemerged into the suite only to meet Jellal, who sat at the table with a cup of tea.

"I really hope this was convenient timing?"

"If only," Jellal replied with an amused snort. "I got here about twenty minutes ago. Ultear told me to let you rest though, but she wouldn't tell me why?"

Natsu was at a loss for words, quickly deducing that Ultear had watched the entire thing. Turning away to avoid showcasing a blush, Natsu was glad Jellal didn't seem to figure it out, instead continuing on.

"Regardless, we need to prepare Natsu. Today is the last day of the Grand Magic Games, which means today will be the day Varnik and Granvill will enact whatever plan Alvarez has in store for Fiore."

"Makes sense. From what I read; the last day will have all the competing Guilds taking part in a massive battle across Crocus itself. So, it gives the Leichart members an advantage, since random surges of Magical Power won't be deemed as suspicious."

"Indeed. Have you thought of a plan to deal with them yet?"

"Well, some things have changed regarding the Games themselves," Natsu replied, eliciting a raised eyebrow from Jellal in response. "Because Raven Tail got themselves disqualified, it made the teams a bit unbalanced. So, we were asked to combine both our teams into one."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I decided to withdraw. It was a convenient excuse to get out of it and help you guys out instead. That being said, I'm going to need to get a few of the others to help us out on this."

"I agree. We'll need more than the four of us to make sure we can stop whatever Varnik and Granvill have planned."

"I have two in mind who'll be able to help us out, so I'll meet you guys at the hideout, okay?"

"Alright Natsu. Once I get back, I'll have Meredy use her Maguilty Sense so we can stay in contact. So, if you feel some Magic coming your way, it'll be hers."

"Alright man, see you soon," Natsu replied, as Jellal vanished in a flash of bright yellow, leaving him to ponder what was to come.

Walking toward the window, he idly hoped that whatever Alvarez had in store, he could truly put a stop to it. After Scarlione, he couldn't afford to fail again…

***POTD***

Arriving at Domus Flau in the late afternoon, Natsu made his way toward his Guild's viewing box. He maintained a casual yet brisk pace so as to not alert anyone that he was, in fact, actually in a hurry.

"Well now, look who finally got out of bed," Erza teased, as Natsu leaned down so she could peck him on the cheek. "It seems five is enough to wear you out, eh?"

"Perhaps Erza, but that was a special occasion," Natsu replied in amusement, as Erza took his hand, linking her fingers with his own.

"Elise told Mira and I about last night Natsu… Thank you for giving her a special night like that."

"There's no need to thank me Erza, you know that-."

"No, seriously, just look at Elise right now," Erza said, cutting him off as he looked over to the God Slayer, blinking in surprise.

Elise towered over everyone, hands on her hips and a beaming smile on her face. She hadn't even done her hair up in its usual ponytail. Instead, it flowed freely in the wind as her eyes held a bright spark, her form almost visibly glowing as those around her seemed to be drawn in to her mood.

"I have to admit, I've never seen her that happy. Well, at least not to the extent she's like that…"

"You did good Natsu," Erza praised, patting his bicep as he looked back toward her. "I told her if she wants to spend some more time with us like last time, she just has to ask."

"I can see why," Natsu laughed awkwardly, before abruptly shaking his head. "Right, hang on, I've got some things I've got to sort out today."

"Things?"

"Things that cannot be discussed openly," Natsu replied, eliciting an understanding nod from Erza. "Has gramps decided the new team yet?"

"He has."

"Are Mira and Gajeel on it?"

"No, they aren't," Erza replied shaking her head. "You need them?"

"I do," Natsu replied stiffly, his eyes scanning for the two Mages in question. "There isn't a lot of time to explain, but if you're leading the team, try to wrap this thing up as quickly as you all can, okay?"

"We will Natsu," Erza replied with a firm nod, as Mira and Gajeel approached after sharing a look with Natsu. "The three of you look after yourselves as well."

"What's going on?"

"Yeah Salamander? What are ya gettin us into now?"

"I take it that they're making their move today," Makarov asked, startling some of the group as the old man appeared from behind Gajeel and Mira.

"They are gramps. I'm borrowing these two to help our other friends."

"Then go and do what you must my boy. If things go south though, don't hesitate to ask me for more aide Natsu-."

"Trust me gramps, I know," Natsu smiled tightly in response. "I didn't even need to doubt it, I'm just hoping it won't come to that."

"As am I," Makarov sighed, shaking his head. "Regardless, the three of you best be off."

Natsu nodded and motioned for Mira and Gajeel to follow him, giving one last kiss to Erza before they departed Domus Flau, leaving a frowning Makarov behind.

"Will they truly be alright Master?"

"Hard to say Erza. I don't believe Natsu has fully recovered from his fight with God Serena just yet. Although, it seems Natsu managed to somehow earn Sitri's respect, so he has her full power at his side. Gajeel is also much more powerful than I'd thought…"

"Not to mention our other friends too, right?"

"Right. Even so, Alvarez have proven crafty in the past. I just hope nothing goes awry and drastic measures need to be taken…"

"Even if they do, I still have faith Master."

"This isn't about having faith in them Erza. The Alvarez war machine isn't something that can be taken lightly," Makarov replied darkly, recalling what both Natsu and Gildarts had told him regarding the full scale of the war in Scarlione. "A price will be paid tonight, no matter who wins…"

Erza remained silent, unsure of how to respond to that, as she looked over toward the rest of the newly formed Team Fairy Tail. Though Makarov's words gave her cause for concern, her boyfriend was on par with Fiore's strongest Mage…

"He won't lose… I won't believe in any outcome aside from his victory."

With that, Erza joined Team Fairy Tail in preparation for the opening of Day Five of the Grand Magic Games, pushing all doubt from her mind and focusing it all on completing the final day as Natsu had requested.

Hard and fast.

After departing Domus Flau and entering Crocus proper, Natsu led the pair down a deserted alleyway, before turning to address the pair.

"Alright, this place should be private enough to give you both a quick rundown of what's going on…"

"So, what's goin on Salamander?"

"Alvarez, Gajeel," Natsu replied darkly, surprising the pair who both knew of the titanic Kingdom.

"Alvarez? Are they in Fiore now," Mira asked quietly, eliciting a nod in response. "Why?"

"Why else, but to invade," Gajeel grunted in response. "Let me guess, you and Crime Sorciere were tailin em over the past week, right?"

"Right."

"And that explosion that went off outside of Crocus the other day was them, right?"

"It was," Natsu nodded in reply. "We've got confirmation on two officers of the Alvarez military, members of the Leichart Twelve."

"Are they here to assassinate King Toma and Princess Hisui," Mira asked, only for Natsu to shake his head.

"I've spoken with King Toma directly. It seems that their goal is most likely an artefact that is being guarded within Castle Mercurius by the royal family called the Eclipse Gate," Natsu explained. "And Gajeel… Somehow, the Dragon King Festival is involved in all of this."

"You're fucking shittin me," the Slayer hissed, running a hand through his hair. "Are those fucks insane!? They'll kill us all!"

"We're heading to a hideout on the outskirts of Crocus where Jellal, Ultear and Meredy are holed up. Once we meet up with them, we'll make our way over to Mercurius before nightfall and, hopefully, be able to stop whatever Alvarez has planned."

"Six of us against two of them? We should be able to put a stop to them, right?"

"You'd think so Mira. But the thing is, Varnik, one of the officers, took a meteorite to the face and could still fight afterward. There's also the possibility that they didn't come alone too."

"Salamander's right. We can't just assume we'll win because of numbers," Gajeel agreed. "These guys ain't a joke."

"Come on, let's get going guys," Natsu said, as the pair fell into step behind him. "Jellal and the others are waiting for us."

The trio steeled themselves for what was to come, knowing full well that the ensuing confrontation was most likely going to be to the death.

They just hoped it wasn't to their deaths.

***POTD***

As Natsu, Gajeel and Mira made their way to Crime Sorciere's hideout, the rest of Fairy Tail eagerly awaited the opening of the final day of the games in Domus Flau.

All members of the teams gathered within the arena itself, as the voice of Chapati roared across all of Crocus.

"Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, and welcome to the final day of the Grand Magic Games! We've certainly had an action-packed week, but today's single event is sure to be a climax none of Fiore will soon forget!"

"That's right Chapati, what an event we've got lined up for you all today! But before we get into that, I think we should review the scores of all the teams up until this point, don't you Chapati?"

"That's right Mister Yajima! We've had a week full of excitement and twists, so its only natural that the audience might not be aware of who currently leads the pack! Ladies and Gentlemen, here are the current standings!"

1st Place – Fairy Tail – 210 Points

2nd Place – Sabertooth – 180 Points

3rd Place – Highfather – 170 Points

4th Place – Lamia Scale – 150 Points

5th Place – Mermaid Heel – 120 Points

6th Place – Blue Pegasus – 80 Points

"There it is folks! Fairy Tail is on the warpath, carving their way from zero to hero as they lead the pack!"

"Though not by much Chapati, Sabertooth, Highfather and Lamia Scale could easily tip the balance early in today's event."

"Right you are Mister Yajima! Although Fairy Tail boasts an impressive lead, will they be able to hold it until the end!? Only time will tell Mister Yajima!"

"Speaking of today's event, how about we tell the crowd more about it Chapati?"

"Well folks, today's event is graciously sponsored by King Toma, who has decided to donate the entire city of Crocus as the battleground! Can you believe it folks!? Just imagine the property damage!?"

"That's right Chapati. The city of Crocus is the battleground, as our six teams will fight it out in an all-out elimination extravaganza! Each knockout is worth a whopping fifty points folks, so watch those point tallies soar!"

"And let's not forget the most important rule that may play a key role in deciding the victors Mister Yajima!? Teams will be dropped into the city via Lacrima Teleporters in the order they rank on the leaderboard! This means that Team Fairy Tail will be the first to enter the city, followed closely by Teams Sabertooth and Highfather!"

"Teams will be dropped in two minutes apart, so they'd better make those crucial seconds count!"

"Team Fairy Tail, step up to the teleportation Lacrima please…"

The members of Team Fairy Tail stepped forward, the crowd cheering them on as they inched closer to the teleporter. Led by Erza, she was flanked by Laxus, Elise, Gray and Wendy.

Even without Natsu, the crowd seemed confident in their chances, cheering as they were warped away into Crocus, right as Chapati and Yajima declared the beginning of the match.

As soon as they were gone, a timer began to tick down, as the members of Sabertooth assembled at the teleporter. They seemed confident, though no longer as cocky or arrogant as they had once been.

Despite that, many in the crowd still cheered for them, as the timer inched closer to their deployment, as the games began in earnest.

***POTD***

The Mages of Team Fairy Tail appeared in a courtyard, all five standing before a fountain. The moment they appeared; they all shared a look.

"So, what's the plan," Laxus asked curiously. "Should we just go wild?"

"I think that's probably the only option available," Erza replied dryly, as she looked toward Elise, who was practically bouncing on the spot, her hair now done up in its usual ponytail.

"Do I even wanna know why she's like that," Gray asked slowly, eliciting a stiff shake of the head from Erza. "Thought so…"

"Why not," Wendy asked innocently, as the other adults, bar Elise, found themselves unable to give any response aside from incoherent mumbling.

"Fuck it, I'm out," Laxus said suddenly, vanishing in a bolt of lightning, with Gray's body suddenly turning into a solid ice statue that melted away.

"Cowards," Erza grumbled, as Elise skipped and danced around Erza and Wendy, picking up the latter and twirling her around before gently putting her down.

"Today is a wonderful day to be me Wendy! I haven't felt this good in years!"

Wendy and Erza watched in shock as Elise's next skip had her bound ten feet in the air, before landing as she shot off in a westerly direction, smashing through every single solid object in her path like it were made out of paper.

"Well, I can at least give you this speech Wendy," Erza sighed, shaking her head at her team's antics. "There are far too many foes to waste our time on, so take anyone you see out hard and fast. No matter who it is, drop them quick."

"Okay Erza, I'll do my best. Um…"

"What is it?"

"Does this mean I can go all out like yesterday if I need to?"

"Of course it does. As long as you aren't putting yourself in mortal danger, do whatever you need to do to win Wendy."

"Okay Erza, I'll do my best," Wendy nodded firmly, as she looked out toward Domus Flau in the distance. "I hope Natsu gets to see us…"

"I'm sure he will Wendy, don't worry," Erza smiled, even as she sensed multiple Magical Signatures manifest all around Crocus. "Seems like we've got company…"

"I'll see you later Erza," Wendy smiled, giving the S Class Mage a surprise hug, before she vanished in a burst of speed, kicking up powerful winds and leaving her in the dust.

"Good luck Wendy," Erza whispered to herself, summoning a basic straight sword to her right hand as she walked off into the densely packed city. "Hopefully you don't run into anyone too far above what you can handle…"

***POTD***

Gray reformed out of a nearby waterway, sighing and shaking his head as he slowly stepped out into the street. As he walked, he watched as two massive bolts of yellow lightning struck the ground about half a kilometer from his current position.

Looking up to the board that hovered over Crocus, he saw that Risley of Mermaid Heel and Ren of Blue Pegasus had been eliminated by Laxus.

"Poor bastards. Out of all the people they could have run into, it had to be him," the Ice Make Mage sighed, his eyes narrowing as he sensed a presence in the nearby park. "Seems I'm not alone…"

Making his way toward the entrance to the park, he noticed the man who wore the musketeer getup from Sabertooth standing at the center of said park. He looked over toward Gray and tipped his hat, a smirk on his face.

"Well now, if it isn't one of the Fairy Tail Mages… Whilst it is true that your Guild has proven itself to be far stronger than any could have previously anticipated, I have no memory of us ever directly doing battle? I do wonder, who would come out on top between us, Gray Fullbuster?"

That depends? I know nothing about your Magic, yet you undoubtedly know mine, right?"

"Indeed. But I'll be generous and throw you a bone, since it would only be fair," the man smiled. "My name is Rufus Lore, and my Magic is known as Memory Make."

"Maker Magic huh? Alright," Gray replied, slowly sliding his hands from his pockets. "Now you've got my attention."

"Allow me to offer you a demonstration," Rufus smirked as he placed a finger against his forehead, his entire body glowing a bright gold color. "Memory Make – A Night Of Falling Stars!"

Removing his finger from his forehead and pointing directly at Gray, dozens of beams made from pure light erupted from his form, all headed directly at the Ice Make Mage. Gray was hit instantly by the attack; his form being ripped apart into little more than powdered snow.

"I see… I've been told you're quite skilled at that technique, Gray Fullbuster," Rufus smirked, as Gray reformed from the fountain nearby. "A technique developed by the infamous Ur and taught to you, her most prized student."

"Something like that," Gray sniffed, ice beginning to form up along the right side of his body as the temperature in the area plummeted rapidly. "And what's Memory Make Magic supposed to be?"

"Put simply, my Magic allows me to memorize the spells I've seen before and utilize them in battle," Rufus replied simply. "That spell you just saw; I memorized it after facing an enemy Mage on a recent job."

"I see how that could be Maker Magic… But I wonder, whose is stronger," Gray mused, as the ground around his immediate vicinity began to freeze over, surprising Rufus.

"How interesting… It seems that you have also inherited Ur's ability to wield Maker Magic without needing to use your hands? This ought to prove a good match indeed."

Gray smirked in response as a cold wind blew through the area, as the battle between Maker Magicians began in earnest.

***POTD***

After smashing through a wall, Elise effortlessly dispatched a Mage from Blue Pegasus and another from Lamia Scale without even noticing who they were. She was currently just so happy her body was practically on autopilot.

Afternoon had begun to turn to evening, as the dark skies began to cast greater shadows across Crocus. Despite her good mood, she was still on guard for ranged attacks. So, when several blasts of shadow emerged from all around her, she put more force into her next skip, propelling herself high into the air as she noticed Rogue from Sabertooth slowly emerge from the ground.

Landing nearby, she smirked at him, dropping to one knee to match his height.

"You are the God Slayer from Fairy Tail…"

"That's me!"

"You are strong, I can sense it," Rogue muttered as he slowly rose up from the shadows. "Even so, I cannot back down. With the excommunication of our Guild Master, we must show the people that Sabertooth is still as strong as ever!"

"Wait, you guys got rid of your Guild Master?"

"Our previous Guild Master, Jiemma, did something despicable to one of our former members, Yukino. Many of us talked about it after Natsu Dragneel revealed the truth, and we collectively agreed to report him to the Council for his crimes."

"I take it he wasn't arrested," Elise asked, her cheery mood dimming as she remembered what happened to Yukino.

"He escaped before the Council officials arrived," Rogue replied with a shake of his head. "Regardless, we have had a number of revelations this past week. I believe Sting most of all has learned several valuable lessons in humility. It is my hope that from today's games, we can deduce who our next Guild Master should be…"

"Who our next Master shall be is a matter for another time, Rogue," a new voice chimed in, as Minerva appeared from thin air behind Rogue.

"I apologize Lady Minerva. The matter of Yukino, and our treatment of others within our Guild… It weighs heavily on my mind, that's all."

"I understand Rogue," Minerva sighed, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Many of the Guild were blind to my Father's actions, both vile and otherwise… But he, and his actions, are now in the past, and do not define Sabertooth. We are still strong, Rogue. We are still the same Mages who have shown our power time and again!"

"Lady Minerva…"

"And we will overcome this challenge, just as we have overcome all those that came before. Regardless of what comes of this years Grand Magic Games… We have grown stronger, wiser, and most importantly… kinder."

Elise was surprised by Minerva's words. They were a complete one eighty from what their Guild had been like on Day One, and they were certainly for the better.

"Now go," Minerva whispered, surprising the Shadow Dragon Slayer. "I'll be her opponent."

"But Lady Minerva-!?"

"No buts, Rogue. Just go," Minerva replied softly, as Rogue slowly sunk back into the shadows and darted away. "You're undoubtedly shocked, aren't you, Elise Faulkner?"

"I won't deny that…"

"The truth is, we've all grown soft since Dragneel blew down our door and challenged my Father," Minerva sighed. "I knew full well what a terrible Human being he was. But not even I was aware of just how far he'd truly gone off the deep end."

Looking back toward the direction Rogue had slipped off, Minerva clenched her right fist, shaking her head as a slight blush formed on her cheeks.

"And I must confess… I didn't want to see Rogue getting torn apart by a woman of your power."

"I see," Elise replied gently, as both she and Minerva slowly circled one another. "I know it might not mean much coming from me, but… Well, I'm glad your Guild has gone down a path of a new beginning. Fighting to protect almost always brings out the best in people."

"Is that so," Minerva mused, as she looked back to the direction Rogue had gone. "Then, let us test that theory firsthand!?"

As Minerva spoke, she manifested two rainbow-colored spheres around her hands. Elise immediately could tell it was Spatial Magic, as it distorted the space around her hands, and couldn't hold back a smirk.

"Let's see your resolve Minerva," Elise replied, as they pair charged one another, as a massive explosion rocked the street they were in, signalling the beginning of their battle.

***POTD***

Night had fallen over Crocus as Wendy carefully made her way through the city. So far, she'd yet to encounter a single opponent, though she could smell someone familiar, even amidst the numerous scents generated via the other battles going on all around her.

Sniffing the air, she tracked the scent to a dingy back alley, finding none other than a pensive Sting Eucliffe sat atop some crates. The man appeared pensive, barely sparing her a glance before returning to his brooding.

"Um… Excuse me, but you do realize this is a tournament, right?"

"Yeah, I know," Sting replied calmly, not bothering to look back at her when he spoke. "I'm just… I'm waiting."

"Waiting? For what?"

"Tell me… When you joined Fairy Tail, how did you feel?"

"Well, I was both excited and scared," Wendy replied thoughtfully, as she thought back to how she'd wound up at Fairy Tail. "I was very scared, as I'd been on my own all that time… But Natsu was there, and he promised to look after me from then on."

"Natsu huh? Yeah… Seems a lot of people have him to thank, doesn't it?"

"What do you mean?"

"Rogue and I, we've always been together. From the day we slew our Dragon parents, it's been the two of us against the world," Sting began as he stared off into space. "But we weren't strong, not originally. Seven years ago, Rogue and I were so weak, pathetically so. We never really trained, just coasted by on what we had, just like what you said back when you fought us, remember?"

Wendy winced, recalling her harsh words during her fight against the Twin Dragons, and how she'd accused them of coasting by on the raw power the Dragon Force provided, whilst herself, Natsu and Gajeel worked hard for their strength.

"Rogue and I, we were traveling together to a place called Elira Town when we were attacked by these weak Demons. We managed to beat them, but more kept coming. But then, they all started to freak out and run away, so we chased them," Sting continued, eyes narrowed deep in thought as he recalled the memory. "And that's when we saw him for the first time."

"Who? Natsu?"

"Yeah. Rogue and I could barely believe it as we watched him go blow for blow against one of the Dark Guild Masters of the Nine Circles. He was a Dragon Slayer, like us, and he was even around our age… yet he was so much stronger than we were."

"…"

"He tore that guy apart, and would've finished him too if one of the Tartaros Demons hadn't shown up. And even then, the Tartaros Demon didn't fight him, but negotiated! I couldn't believe it!?"

"Sting…"

"I-I was blown away by him, by his power, and what that power got him. From that day on, Rogue and I followed every single one of his exploits. How he took down Jose Porla, a Wizard Saint, only to go on to kill Jellal Fernandes, a Dark Mage considered on par with the leaders of the Bharam Alliance. Then he actually started taking down the Bharam Alliance themselves! Taking down Brain of the Oracion Seis and fighting Hades of Grimoire Heart!"

Sting slowly rose to his feet as he looked toward Wendy, his fists clenched, eyes remaining narrowed as he shook his head.

"He was like an idol to me… A hero! I trained hard so I could be like him one day, a strong Dragon Slayer that could face down anybody! But then…"

"Tenrou…"

"He failed. Or, at least, that's how it seemed these last seven years," Sting sighed sadly, shaking his head. "For a good while, I refused to believe he'd died, even when I finally joined Sabertooth. But after a few years, Jiemma's bullshit got into my head, made me think that Natsu lost because he was too weak… The way he spoke, the way he put things…"

"He manipulated you, didn't he," Wendy replied gently, eliciting a stiff nod. "It sounds like Jiemma was good at that?"

"Yeah. He got Rogue and I to join, promising us fame and fortune, as well as the status of being the strongest Dragon Slayers in Fiore. He would tell us all the time about how superior we were to you, Gajeel and Natsu. About how inferior your Magic was to ours… I ate up his lies like a gourmet meal."

"…"

"But now, after our battle, and after what happened to poor Yukino… Its like the wool that had been over my eyes has been lifted. I'm seeing things differently now, seeing how wrong I was, as well as Sabertooth's way of doing things. We were glorified bullies, thugs, led by someone who was no better than a Dark Mage."

"Well, its good that you've realized this though, right? Now you can start making amends," Wendy suggested, as Sting slowly looked in her direction. "You can't change the past, but the future is yours to control Sting. Natsu taught me that a long time ago…"

"Really? Heh. You know, that kind of reminds me of something Yukino once told me, back when she was still part of the Guild," Sting replied quietly. "She said that all the power and prestige in the world was useless if you use it solely for your own gain, but using it to help others was what gave it real meaning. I laughed at her for saying it at the time, but now that I've seen both the Guild, and myself, for what they really were… Yukino was right."

"I can imagine her saying something like that," Wendy smiled in response, recalling her own interactions with the Celestial Mage. "She's a kind and gentle person."

"How is Yukino doing anyway? I-I know its probably not any of my business… A-And I know she probably hates my guts now, but-?"

"She's been with our Guild since what happened over at your Guild Hall," Wendy replied, cutting Sting off. "She tries to look happy, but we can all tell she's still sad about being kicked out of Sabertooth."

"Of course she is," Sting sighed sadly. "She was far too good of a woman for our heartless Guild. We didn't deserve someone as nice as her."

"Well, I don't know anything about that. But you know, it isn't too late to try and fix things," Wendy suggested, as Sting's head snapped back in her direction. "Maybe you should come by and apologize? I know it won't fix what Jiemma did to her, but I'm sure if she saw her former Guild-mates were sad about her leaving, it might help?"

"You think?"

"Another piece of advice Natsu gave me was that its better to try and fail, than to do nothing and let an opportunity pass me by," Wendy replied with a kind smile. "Do you want to wonder if your apology was enough to start fixing things, or do you just want to assume it won't and wonder what if for the rest of your life?"

"Heh. Damn… Natsu made a Hell of a woman out of you, didn't he," Sting replied, a flicker of his more confident self-shining through. "You sound almost as old as he is?"

"He's just taught me using his own life experiences," Wendy replied with a shrug. "I was weak once, but he showed me how to be stronger, but still a good person."

"Well, maybe I should apologize to him too, after all this, and see if he'll do the same for me, eh?"

"You know, from what I've heard from other people who knew Natsu when he was younger, the two of you weren't all that different?"

"Really?"

"Yeah. Apparently, he used to be cocky, overconfident and rather rude. But life changed him into the man he is now, just like how life will change both of us by the time we're his age too."

"That's… an interesting way of putting things into perspective," Sting laughed, before noticing Wendy had remained serious. "What's wrong?"

"I haven't told him this, but I think you're someone who should hear it, since you once idolized him," Wendy replied firmly, as she met Sting's gaze. "As much as I want to grow stronger, I don't ever want to turn out like him…"

"Wait…really?"

"He never tells anyone the full truth, but I know he's been through Hell. His body alone is proof enough when you see the countless scars he bears from the countless battles he's fought. But his mind…I think that's what scares me the most…"

"Really? Why's that?"

"He's lost a lot of people he's cared about over the years. He's been tortured, both physically and mentally. He has so much responsibility on his shoulders from Fairy Tail, to Scarlione, the Magic Council and the people of Fiore… He's killed thousands of people, even if he tries to gloss over it whenever we talk about stuff like that…"

"Damn…"

"Sometimes, Natsu just stares at nothing," Wendy whispered, as Sting felt a shiver run up his spine at her own gaze. "Its like he's dead inside, and it scares me to wonder what he might be seeing when he's like that…"

"Wow… Now I really feel like a piece of shit for talking all that trash to him before the games," Sting mumbled, snapping Wendy out of her musings as she shook her head.

"Believe me, I doubt he was offended by it," Wendy replied with a wave of her hand. "Regardless though, I think you definitely should at least apologize to him for being rude after the games."

"I-I will," Sting replied quickly, as Wendy turned on her heel and stepped back out into the street, before turning to face Sting once again.

"Now then, I think that's enough sitting around and moping from you Sting," Wendy continued, as the White Dragon Slayer slowly stepped out onto the street as well.

"You're right Wendy," Sting agreed, as he slowly began to feel the will to fight flood back into him. "This is a new beginning, and not just for me! All of Sabertooth is watching these games tonight, and they're putting their hopes on me to win!"

"That's right, you're not just fighting for yourself anymore, are you," Wendy smirked, as the pair slowly began releasing their Magical Power. "You're fighting for your Guild, and for your friends like Rogue, aren't you?"

"Not just them," Sting shot back, as he slowly entered the Dragon Force. "I'm fighting for Yukino too! Even if she ends up rejecting us… I have to put it all on the line and try!"

Wendy smiled as she also entered the Dragon Force, feeling something shift within Sting as the man stood across from her.

'This is a true Dragon Slayer,' she thought to herself as she felt the adrenaline beginning to course through her, a sharp grin etching its way onto her face. 'Maybe Natsu is rubbing off on me like Erza said? I can already tell this is going to be a hard battle and yet… I can't wait!'

"Get ready Wendy," Sting shouted, as the ground cracked beneath the pair. "I'm not holding back! This time, I'm going to win!"

"We'll see about that," Wendy smirked savagely, as the wind around them picked up. "Bring it on Sting!"

The two Dragon Slayers vanished, their fists colliding with a resounding boom that shattered windows several hundred meters in every direction, as the rematch between the Dragon Slayers commenced in earnest.

'Well, isn't this a pretty little coincidence,' Laxus thought to himself as he slowly strolled into a small plaza right as Sabertooth's Orga did.

The pair slowed to a stop, standing at opposing ends of the plaza, as sparks danced across the pavement. Neither man moved, even as their fists became enveloped by yellow and black lightning respectively.

"I've heard about you," Orga smirked, his fingers twitching at his side in anticipation. "Seven years ago, you were considered one of the strongest Mages who wasn't a Wizard Saint, the mighty Laxus Dreyar."

"What of it?"

"I'm not dumb enough to think that just because seven years passed, you'd have gone soft," Orga replied easily. "No, you're a beast, a Dreyar! It took the might of Oberon himself to put you down…"

"You mean Natsu? Well, times were different back then, just like my way of thinking," Laxus replied, muttering the last part to himself. "He did what needed to be done, just like I'm gonna do tonight."

"Oh yeah? You reckon you've got the stones to overcome a God Slayer," Orga smirked in response. "This ain't gonna be like the match between those two little girls Dreyar…"

"Oh, I'm more than aware," Laxus replied, matching his smirk, as Orga fully opened up his reserves, his position being struck by a black bolt of lightning.

"Then let's see what you've got Dreyar," Orga roared, cocking back and throwing a punch from his position across the courtyard. "Take this if you dare!?"

A barrage of black lightning tore past Laxus' position, cleaving a small section of the city as Crocus shook from the raw power being put out by the God Slayer. Laxus didn't so much as flinch however, his eyes only narrowing slightly as he analyzed his opponent.

Orga Nanagear (Base Form + Full Power) – 10.75 Million MPI

"Was that meant to intimidate me? If so, poor job."

"Heh! I'm just getting warmed up," Orga replied, as black lightning flooded the area. "Just wait till you get a load of this-!"

"Oh? I thought I felt a couple of strong Magical Signatures over this way…"

Orga froze mid speech, as both men looked toward the third entrance to the plaza.

'Oh great… Well, looks like the monster decided to show up nice and early,' Laxus thought to himself, as Orga regained his composure.

"Well, if it isn't the Wizard Saint Jura!"

"Sorry to drop in on what would have been a rather interesting fight, but I simply must intrude," Jura smirked, coming to a stop between the pair. "You see, I'm unfortunately bereft of suitable opponents in this tournament, and I can't seem to find any of those interesting Highfather Mages to play with…"

"Heh! So, you want in on this old man," Orga smirked, as black sparks danced between his fingertips. "You can join in on all the fun old timer, we're just getting warmed up over here! Let's see just how strong you really are!?"

"Oh? Is that a hint of a challenge I hear in your voice," Jura smirked, as Laxus silently shook his head.

'Talks a big game about not underestimating me, but immediately starts talking shit to a Wizard Saint… What an idiot!'

"You bet it is! Let's settle the question that's on everyone's minds tonight," Orga grinned, as Orga's hair flicked upward, a bolt of lightning striking his position. "Who's better between a Wizard Saint, and a God Slayer!?"

Stepping out of the smoke, Orga's hair was spiked upward, black currents of lightning flowing through it as a black storm cloud orbited his forehead. Black lightning oozed through his eyes, as storm clouds surrounded his wrists and ankles, his form beefing up even more as he grew another three feet in height.

"Oh my, just like Sherria," Jura smirked, positioning himself to face Orga properly. "I'll play…"

Orga Nanagear (Lightning God's Champion + Full Power) – 32.25 Million MPI

"Let's see if you can handle this attack," Orga's voice boomed, echoing across the area as he held his hands out in front of him, forming a small sphere of raw black lightning. "I'm coming at you FULL POWER old man!"

"By all means," Jura replied calmly, as Laxus' gaze shifted between the pair.

'You're falling right into his trap,' Laxus thought to himself, as the God Slayer prepared his attack.

"Take this! Lightning God's 400mm Black Lightning-!"

Orga's attack fired, blinding everyone watching the battle, as it blasted apart sizeable chunk of the city before it. The crowd were speechless however, as it suddenly ceased, as Jura stood over Orga, smashing his head through the pavement as the entirety of Crocus shook from the force of the blow.

"One attack," Jura sighed, black sparks dancing over his body as he glanced down at the now unconscious God Slayer. "I expected much more from you than that."

'Not good… He might have been an idiot, but he was still a God Slayer.'

"Now then," Jura sighed, turning around to face Laxus, who merely narrowed his eyes in response. "Let's hope that you provide me with a little bit more entertainment, son of Makarov-."

"Alright, you can stop right there," Laxus sighed, shaking his head. "There's no need for all the baggage."

"Baggage?"

"Titles and relatives don't matter here, nor do they matter on any battlefield, either. This is between you, and me… two ordinary Mages."

"Very well put Laxus," Jura nodded curtly, seemingly somewhat surprised by Laxus' response. "Then let it be as it always should, and reveal your full power before me now! Show me the strength that you've worked so hard to attain!"

Laxus grit his teeth and fully opened up his reserves, shattering the ground around him and surprising Jura for a brief moment. The man quickly recovered however, smirking as Laxus' body was enveloped in bright yellow lightning.

Laxus Dreyar (PTS + Base Form + Second Origin Sealed + Full Power) – 20.2 Million MPI

In an instant, Laxus had closed the distance between himself and Jura, already cocked back with a punch lined up for Jura's face. The Wizard Saint merely smiled, sidestepping Laxus, and delivering a brutal chop to the Dragon Slayer's neck.

Laxus instantly smashed into the ground, the force behind Jura's blow equal to that he'd used on Orga moments prior, as the entirety of Crocus shook, several buildings nearby collapsing from the tremors.

"A most commendable effort. However, there will always be someone above you in this world," Jura sighed. "Though I commend your bravery in facing me, Natsu should have already taught you how to pick your battles-."

"Yeah…well," Laxus gasped out, as sparks danced all around Jura's feet. "If there's one thing I've learned over all these years…"

Everything moved in slow motion for Jura, as he tried to evade Laxus, only to find the man was moving just as fast as he was, quickly rising as he locked eyes with the Dragon Slayer.

"Its that you should ALWAYS WATCH THOSE WHO ARE AT YOUR FEET," Laxus roared, uppercutting Jura as he was blasted through the air, smashing through a tall building, giving the Dragon Slayer time to steady himself.

Laxus panted slightly, blood trickling from a wound on his forehead. However, unlike before, his skin had hardened up considerably, as yellow scales now covered his neck, cheeks, around his eyes and along his forearms. His teeth had grown sharper, his hair spikier, as lightning surged from his form.

Laxus Dreyar (PTS + Honed Second Generation Dragon Force + Second Origin Sealed + Full Power) – 60.6 Million MPI

The city shook once again, as Jura emerged from the ground beneath Laxus' feet, striking him on the side of the face as he tried to dodge the attack, only to receive a kick to the chest in return.

"Absolutely outstanding," Jura cried, as he made several motions with his fingers, raising the earth around them. "This is what I've been waiting for!"

'Bastard's not playing around anymore,' Laxus thought to himself, as Jura molded the earth around him, reshaping the battlefield. 'Well, guess I don't have to either…'

Across the city, Erza stumbled as she made her way up the steps toward the bridge that led to the Commercial District. Holding her position, she waited until the shock-waves passed before daring to rise to her feet once more.

"I wonder who is causing that… Elise or Laxus most likely," the Requip Mage sighed, as she ascended the last few steps, before coming to an abrupt halt.

Standing directly across the bridge from her, was a somewhat surprised Kagura Mikazuchi. The S Class Mage of Mermaid Heel seemed momentarily conflicted, before steeling herself, gripping the hilt of Archenemy tightly.

"Erza…"

"Kagura."

The two Mages slowly walked toward one another, until they stood at the centre of the bridge, now a mere meter apart. After several moments of tense silence, Erza decided to break the ice, having learned that Kagura was somewhat awkward when it came to more social situations.

"Is it bad that I was kind of hoping this would happen?"

"You…You hoped we would face each other tonight? Why?"

"Like I told you the other day Kagura, you're a strong woman. From the moment I saw you take down Ophiuchus in a single blow without even drawing your blade, I knew you would be my greatest opponent in the games."

"I see," Kagura replied slowly, a small smile worming its way onto her face. "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to finally cross swords with you Erza. Despite last night's rather enticing activities, I still hold a desire to duel you."

"And you'll get that duel," Erza smiled in response. "Now, I know you said to Yukino that you don't make bets, but how about a friendly wager?"

"Oh?"

"The loser has to serve the winner for an entire day… No restrictions," Erza smirked, somewhat surprising Kagura before she let out a light chuckle.

"Very simple, yet acceptable. Though I must warn you Erza, I'm known to enforce discipline…"

"As am I," Erza replied, as the pair leapt back from one another, Erza's body becoming engulfed in a bright white light. "Requip – Robe Of Yuen!"

Kagura couldn't help but admire Erza's appearance in her latest Requip. She wore a rather revealing oriental kimono that had openings on the side and front, almost revealing her chest. A dark purple obi held the kimono together, with thigh high light pink stockings and a pair of sandals on her feet.

"Your confidence in your body to wear such attire in battle truly does your moniker justice, Titania."

Erza smirked, flicking her hair over her shoulders as it flowed freely down her back, a six-meter long bisento manifesting into her right hand, her bicep barely needing to flex to support its weight as the flower motif at the center of her obi began to glow a light pink.

"This is another of my latest acquisitions, courtesy of my boyfriend."

"Natsu bought it for you?"

"Yeah," Erza smiled, expertly twirling the large bisento between her fingers as if it were as light as a feather. "I barely had to ask and he agreed. I don't think he's actually seen it yet, come to think of it."

"No wonder they call him Oberon now," Kagura replied, shaking her head slightly before entering a defensive stance, her Magical Core opening right up as a dark purple Aura surrounded her form. "Let us see if a Mermaid can fell a Fairy Queen…"

Erza smirked in response, suddenly twirling her bisento out in front of her, before slipping into a guarded stance, opening up her own reserves as the bridge began to groan under the pressure.

Kagura Mikazuchi (Archenemy Sealed + Full Power) – 7.73 Million MPI

Erza Scarlett (PTS + Robe Of Yuen + Full Power) – 7.9 Million MPI

The pair held their positions for several moments, before suddenly vanishing, the bridge being completely blasted apart as they clashed midair. Sparks flicked up between them as they pushed each other away, landing on opposite sides of the river.

Within moments, aerial slash attacks were being traded across the river, as the pair started sprinting along the bank, headed toward the next bridge. With every swing of Kagura's sword, every twirl of Erza's bisento, gashes were torn into the riverbank, the various houses and the road itself, as the girls tried and failed to land a blow in the early stages of their battle.

Eventually, they reached the next bridge, a much more solid one than the last, as they charged across simultaneously. The pair vanished, reappearing behind the other, the blade of the bisento at Kagura's throat, and the hilt of Archenemy at Erza's.

"Stalemate."

"One of us will move eventually…"

"Allowing the other to strike them down in the process."

"So you say," Erza smirked back, as another city wide tremor knocked them both off balance temporarily.

In that moment, both had tried to slash the other, resulting in a momentary clash as they spun around to follow up their initial strikes. The two weapons clashed once more, cracking the bridge beneath them, as both girls grit their teeth, their biceps fully tensed, with Erza's exposed arms showcasing the sheer amount of power being utilized in their strikes, the veins themselves becoming much more pronounced.

"I'll not…yield!"

"Nor…shall I!"

"You'll serve me," both girls cried simultaneously as they pushed against one another, headbutting each other in the process.

The girls skidded backward, but were immediately at one another's throats again, as their swings could no longer be tracked by the Visual Lacrima, only the savage grins from two strong warriors enjoying the thrill of battle.

As the battles raged on across Crocus, Natsu, Mira and Gajeel snuck through the chaos, suppressing themselves so as to not accidentally attract any unwanted attention from the various Guilds competing.

The trio were making their way to Mercurius, having tracked Varnik and Granvill across the city. Natsu hadn't spoken his thoughts aloud, but he was worried.

Their signatures hadn't shifted in the slightest for the last fifteen minutes, and were right around where the throne room would be. Not only that, there were more Magical Signatures than just theirs, some familiar, others… utterly foreign.

He could sense Jellal, Ultear and Meredy through the mind link, the Crime Sorciere trio approaching Mercurius from the opposite side. Through the Mind Link, Natsu shared his concerns privately with Jellal, the man silently agreeing with his decision to keep it to himself for the moment.

Steeling himself internally, he led Mira and Gajeel into Mercurius, before motioning for the pair to take up positions on either side of the throne room doors. The pair did so, trusting him implicitly as he slowly walked up and pushed them open just enough to allow himself entrance.

Entering alone, Natsu immediately scanned the area, noting that King Toma and Princess Hisui were bound and gagged at the foot of the throne, Arcadios' form bloody and crumpled over off to the left, having been swiftly defeated.

"Ah, Natsu Dragneel," Varnik smiled, taking a drag of his cigar from his comfortable seat on King Toma's throne. "So good of you to finally join us!"

"I doubt that the throne of Fiore is what you were searching for Varnik," Natsu replied coldly, his arms crossed. "Let Toma and Hisui go…"

"And lose my advantage? Some of the lesser Spriggan or Leichart Twelve might have done so, but not me. I didn't get to live this long as the Fifth Blade of his Excellency by showing compassion and mercy toward enemies of the Empire."

"And yet you clearly wish to monologue like the rest of them," Natsu shot back. "Rather contradictory, isn't it?"

"You've come a long way since those first reports on you almost twenty years ago. You've gone from being the lackey, cannon fodder, to being one of the major players," Varnik smirked, taking another drag from his cigar. "You've become someone of importance in the world, many eyes now watching you…"

"What of it?"

"You are not a boy any longer, but a man. More importantly though… You're a threat, Natsu Dragneel, and not just to our plans, but to the Empire itself."

"…"

"We have gathered here this night at the will of his Excellency, Emperor Spriggan, to ensure his prophecy comes true."

"The Dragon King Festival…"

"Indeed," Varnik hummed in reply, snapping his fingers as four members of the Highfather Guild manifested on either side of Varnik's position.

"Figures," Natsu scoffed, seeing Soru, Yamata, Lysandre and Verity all donning Alvarez Officer uniforms.

"Ooh, I do so like that look," a new voice cooed, as the Team Captain of Highfather slowly stepped out from behind Toma's throne. "I can see why many in Alvarez speak of you so highly… Those eyes, they remind me of his Excellency's own."

The woman smirked, sitting down on the armrest of the throne, as Natsu put two and two together.

"You're-?"

"Oh yes," the woman smirked in response. "I suppose we should all reintroduce ourselves, shouldn't we?"

The reality of the situation started to kick in as each of the Officers proudly reintroduced themselves. He wasn't facing halfhearted troops who had been dragged along to play the role of Guild Mage…

No. He was facing actual veterans, officers under the command of the Swords of Alvarez. And if they had come, then it meant that their troops were also likely somewhere close by, if not inside Mercurius itself…

"I do so love seeing that look on the faces of the Empire's enemies, don't you," Varnik smirked, as the woman at his side cackled with glee.

"Oh yes, its certainly wonderful to see another Fioran dog learn their place," she replied, casting a disgusted gaze toward Arcadios' still form. "That one refused to learn his place, so I made an example of him for the foolish little King and his precious spawn!"

"Alvarez scum…"

"Tsk. Such a weak response," she sighed, shaking her head. "Regardless, his Excellency's will shall be enforced regardless by my own hand, if need be."

As Phyrra gloated whilst introducing herself, Natsu was formulating a plan to try and save Toma and Hisui, whilst not getting himself or the others killed in the process. He knew he was strong, but there were multiple Alvarez Officers present, and even just the two Swords present would be challenge enough.

As he thought of what to do, Mavis appeared within his line of sight, her gaze hard as she examined the room. He didn't dare shift his gaze toward her, lest the Alvarez forces suspect something.

If there was anyone who he could count on right now, it would be the Fairy Tactician herself.

"Do not respond to my words Natsu," Mavis said, as she moved toward the nearby window. "Jellal and his team are nearby. Use the Mind Link to project an image of the current situation to all three of them. Once you have done that, inform both teams that Gajeel, Ultear and Meredy are going to head for the Eclipse Gate. Granvill is not present here, which means he's likely enacting their plan whilst these ones stall you here."

Natsu didn't respond, but did as Mavis instructed, as he could sense the emotions of the others stirring wildly as a result.

"Yourself, Jellal and Mirajane must remain here and face these ones Natsu. As you do, I shall hurry to Makarov and inform him of the full situation."

Mavis vanished, as Natsu prepared himself for the fight that was about to break out. Steeling himself, he could sense Jellal's intent as the man made his way around toward the nearby windows, preparing to charge in.

And then, in an instant, all Hell broke loose.

A bright golden light zipped right through the window, as both King Toma and Princess Hisui found themselves out the window, being held by Ultear and Meredy, as Jellal blocked multiple blows from Varnik, who had moved from the throne to intercept him.

"Jellal Fernandes-!"

Natsu meanwhile had entered the Dragon Force, his scales shrugging off several blades strikes from Verity and a spout of magma from Lysandre. As he blocked the strikes, Phyrra manifested a large, black scythe that was as long as her own body. After Verity's attacks, Phyrra made to strike him with her scythe, something Natsu blocked as Sitri burst through the floor and knocked Lysandre and Soru through the roof, before performing a roundhouse kick that knocked Verity out the window.

"Scatter," Natsu shouted, as the trio quickly bailed out of the room, Phyrra and Varnik in hot pursuit, quickly followed by the rest of Phyrra Squad.

"Verity! Soru! Both of you on Fernandes! Lysandre! Yamata! Hold the Demon back," Phyrra barked out, her body becoming enveloped in a black mist as she took flight. "Come Varnik!"

Varnik didn't respond, but clearly agreed with Phyrra's plan, as both Leichart Commanders went straight for Natsu. The Dragon Slayer barely had the time to prepare, before both Swords bore down upon him.

The strange black mist around Phyrra began to solidify, forming a black cloak as the skin around her right arm rotted away, leaving naught but white bone behind. Smirking, she held her scythe in her body hand, twirling it expertly as Natsu landed on a nearby rooftop.

"You cannot hope to take us both Dragneel," Varnik snapped, closing the distance between them as he threw a punch directly at Natsu's chest.

The Dragon Slayer blocked the strike, but was still sent flying, smashing through two buildings as Phyrra appeared behind him, flipping upside down and kicking him on top of his head, belting him through one of the many skyscrapers of Crocus, as the entire building collapsed on top of him.

"Foolish boy-!"

Phyrra barely had the time to finish her insult, as the debris shattered into thousands of cubes which quickly spun around the spot the building had once been, forming a tornado of rubble. Orange lightning crackled as the rubble was fired at both Leichart members, who easily dodged or blocked it.

"Phyrra!"

"Shut up fool," the Sword snapped, spinning her scythe several times in a clockwise motion, forming a solid black sphere in front of her. "Let's see you try this Dragneel!"

Through the debris, Natsu could see the attack forming, his eyes narrowing as he noticed something oddly familiar about how its signature felt. It wasn't until he noticed Phyrra's eyes begin to glow Galaxy Blue, that he realized just how bad things truly were.

"God's Aura: Death God's Soul Sphere!"

Phyrra fired the attack straight at Natsu, grinning ear to ear as it simply erased anything it touched in its path. Natsu knew he had little choice but to dodge it, knowing he couldn't risk blocking it in an area with so many witnesses.

Avoiding the attack at the last possible moment, it easily tore through the earth, before exploding, creating a massive pitch-black dome that wiped a section of Crocus from existence.

Panting slightly as he landed down in what was now the lifeless crater, Varnik and Phyrra landed across from him, both clearly ready for a fight. He could sense their power, and knew that if he was to stand any chance, he'd need that help, or be forced to do something he'd rather not.

Varnik Duscharn (Full Power) – 144 Million MPI

Phyrra Ashar (God's Aura + Suppressed) – 700 Million MPI

'This isn't looking good,' Natsu thought to himself as he pondered his options. 'If I don't get help soon, I'm going to have to use it…'

Steeling himself, he braced as both Swords charged his position, determined to hold out as long as he could.

***POTD***

As a deadly battle raged across the city, Makarov was enjoying the fights that his children were currently having for the final day of the games.

Gray was doing quite well against Rufus. Erza was locked in combat with Kagura, and the two showed no signs of slowing down. Elise was currently in a thrilling battle with Minerva of Sabertooth. Wendy was fighting a wonderful battle against Sting, who had clearly learned a valuable lesson after his defeat. And Laxus, his Grandson, was fighting a Wizard Saint!

Yes, it certainly didn't get much better than that. Being able to see how his children had grown was something that brought the old man great joy. However, in the back of his mind, he felt uneasy. His thoughts lingered on Natsu and the others, knowing that they were likely fighting a wholly different kind of battle…

Suddenly, without warning, none other than Mavis Vermillion manifested before his very eyes looking rather distraught. It took him a moment to even register what she was saying as she was speaking far too fast. Once she did calm down however, he felt his blood run cold.

"Stop sitting there looking like a fish and get up of your ass Makarov!"

"W-What!?"

"You need to get up and go help Natsu right this instant," Mavis snapped, attempting to grab his coat to throttle him, only for her hands to sink through. "Darn!"

"Hold on, Natsu's in trouble!?"

"Yes! There was a third member of the Leichart Twelve Makarov, and she's even more dangerous than the other two! Natsu is being forced to fight the two strongest ones in a two on one that even he knows he can't win," Mavis all but shouted in his face as the old man slowly got out of his seat. "He's buying as much time as he can so Ultear and Meredy can get the Princess and King to safety! If you don't leave right now, he might die… Or worse!"

"Of course, we must head out immediately First Master," Makarov replied firmly, before adopting a confused look. "What's worse than death though?"

"Grr-! That isn't important right now," the Fairy Tactician huffed angrily. "We need to go! NOW!"

"Of course First Master, I'll follow your lead," Makarov replied quickly, as Mavis led him out of the stadium and into the streets, her mind focused solely on Natsu's welfare.

'This isn't good…No, this isn't good at all! Its obvious what those two are trying to do, the way they were speaking earlier,' Mavis thought to herself as she flew through the streets, Makarov close behind. If he's forced to unleash the power of E.N.D here and is caught doing so, he'll become one of the most hunted beings on the planet! I don't quite understand how they plan on enacting this Dragon King Festival, but I won't allow Natsu to be outed as E.N.D! I won't!'

Mavis' speed increased as she resolved herself to do everything in her power to protect Natsu, sensing the three colossal signatures smashing into one another, as they navigated the damaged city of Crocus.

She could only hope she wasn't too late…
