Welcome back, everyone. Its finally time to officially start Yu-Gi-Oh: Curse of the Rosario fanfic! With all the feedback I've gotten and the careful planning of the storyline, I think its high time we begin this adventure. Of course, just like in the trailers, we will answer reviews and then it'll be time to D-D-D-D-Duel! Rosario Vampire style!

From ZeroTheOne:

Okay good chapter wonder how Ty will take his defeat

Bakuganman: Can't tell you that right now, but we'll get to it quite soon as Kurumu and Ty's debut happens not too long into the story.

From Felipe1402XZA:

omg this is a very good duel, this monster they are ver powerfull like to the banlist but even that Joey win a lucky victory!

Bakuganman: Glad you like it and in comparison to the other monsters of the RV universe, THAT was quite tame. Its only gonna get crazier.

From: nightshroud96

Its pretty cool in seeing how this is described making it look like I am watching a actual TV episode.

Liked that Red Eyes got to shine a bunch, but really disappointing ultimately in the end it gets destroyed for the rest of the duel while something else got the final blow. Felt like Red Eyes got shafted at the last minute with it ultimately losing like that.

Bakuganman: Thanks, I tried to make it feel that way and looks like I succeeded. As for Red-Eyes defeat, it was another game of chance, by a dice roll. Can't expect luck to hold out forever.

From Emblemfan1:

So this is an interesting idea, I quite like the concept and I enjoyed your duel choreography as well. Obviously I can't say too much about the story yet but it seems it will be pretty cool.

A couple things I noticed is that Kurumu should probably be a fiend type monster rather than a winged beast as she is a succubus, a type of imp. I also know you said that the Rosario character cards would have game breaking effects but Kurumu's abilities seemed too over powered. I liked that she could take control of monsters as that is completely in line with her abilities. I also liked that other monsters could be sacrificed to save her. However it seems her ability to control monsters when the player has no space left on the field is a bit too game breaking. I do like the creativity though.

You might also want to think of a way to remind readers what is in the field at a given time. There were a few points where I forgot who had a facedown and what had been played.

Overall though, I'm looking forward to reading more I really like this concept and wish you the best of luck with it!

Bakuganman: Honored you think so, bro. And yes, Kurumu is a Fiend, she's just both Fiend and Winged Beast due to her Effect (not sure if you noticed). As promised, the powers of the RV cast will be game-breaking, some more than others, for as Ura Moka said: none of their powers were balanced for the game. So as a result, they have all their abilities from the get-go, hence the reason Kurumu seemed very overpowered.

From Thunderwolf7226:

I want to know why the Egyptian Gods attacked Moka? Maybe they're territorial?

Bakuganman: A good guess, but not the answer. All I'll say is the reason isn't exactly surface level. Also, I forgot to mention this last time, but I noticed you have left reviews in this archive wanting the RV cast as cards back in 2018… yet here I am 3 years later… Could it be fate? Destiny? ;)

Prologue Chapter: The Heart of, or rather IN, the Cards - Part 1

Our story begins in the monster world. More specifically, at the boarding school known as Yokai Academy, a high school where monsters learn how to coexist alongside the human race. The camera zooms in on the castle-like school, going in through the front gates as some students were either walking into the building or in small groups talking amongst themselves. Going into the front doors, the camera flies forward past more students, through some were out of their human forms (slightly, not fully), but others for the most part were doing the same thing as the ones outside. The camera then flies up to a room called: Newspaper Club…

CHUUUUUUU!

"ACCCCCCCCCCK!"

And we are greeted by a pink-haired vampire girl suddenly biting down on the neck of a tan-skined boy. This was Moka Akashiya, the vampire girl, and her first (and very close) friend, Tsukune Aono. This was actually a very common occurrence. Moka had a habit of constantly biting Tsukune, which the entire student body and some staff misinterprets as kissing him on the neck. She was in reality feeding on him, but sometimes she just can't help herself and ends up biting him out of instinct, even when she's not hungry. He tastes and smells so good to her, no matter how hard she tries to fight it.

Tsukune wasn't actually a monster. In fact, he was completely human… emphasis on was. You see, he actually showed up to the school completely by accident; and during the course of his adventures here, he's currently become a half-human, half-vampire hybrid due to the amount of times Moka had injected her own blood into him, either to save his life or when she can no longer fight. But even if he's not longer fully human, she still loves the way he tastes.

Don't worry, she doesn't drain him dry… most of the time…

POW!

"STOP IT, MOKA! YOUR GONNA KILL HIM!" A girl with short blue hair done in a ponytail had knocked the vampire girl off and away from Tsukune. This was Kurumu Kurono, also a monster like Moka, but a much different species. She was known as a succubus, a demon that controls and seduces various men… actually, Kurumu was quite tame in comparison to others of her kind, she HATED controlling people because she wanted ACTUAL love. Not manipulated love… That didn't stop her from trying to seduce Tsukune every now and then, but still…

"Awww… I didn't even take that much…" Moka said while cutely biting one of her fingers. Not giving a verbal answer, Kurumu gave the vampire a blank yet annoyed expression, then merely pointed at Tsukune with an extending nail, showing the poor boy was a little wrinkly from Moka's feeding.

"Seriously, you need to learn to control yourself for Tsukune's sake," Kurumu said while walking over to the boy in question…

SMOOSH!

Then proceeded to hug him, clutching him deep into her chest, and because she had a massive G-cup size rack, this made Tsukune begin flailing for air; but the succubus' grip was too tight… this was just as constant ad Moka's feeding by the way… "If you can't keep a level head around Tsukune, he's gonna end up dead. Sure he's just yours and Reverse You bloodbank, but the least you can do is have a little self-control" She said, completely oblivious to how she was putting the boys life in danger. Moka was concerned for Tsukune at this point, but also grew a forehead vein with Kurumu giving one of her hugs for over the thousandth time.

STAB!

Out of nowhere, an ice-shuriken was tossing into Kurumu's forehead, dazing her and making some blood leak out, her grip on Tsukune also loosening. Once the boy got himself free, he gasped deeply for the precious oxygen his lungs so desperately craved. Around the same time, he felt cool hands wrap around his back, being gently cradled by a third girl with purple hair. This was Mizore Shirayuki, another monster girl who had the hots for Tsukune. Ironic since she was a Yuki-Onna or a Snow Woman. As such, she was naturally cold to the touch.

"You need to keep your distance as well, boob-zilla. Poor Tsukune has had it rough lately without you bothering him everyday" said the Yuki-Onna, as mere contact caused the boy's teeth to chatter.

"Says the stalker who peeps in his bedroom window!" Kurumu argued, which Mizore wasn't gonna deny. She was a proud and professional stalker. You'll never see or hear her until she wants to be seen or heard.

"And you haven't snuck into his room to slip a love potion into his kitchen?" Mizore 'asked'. The dorms here were decently sized, coming with a small kitchen (which Tsukune doesn't use), bathroom, and bedroom.

"That is completely different! I'm trying to help him!" Kurumu argued. And by 'help', she means… well, she's a succubus. Use your imagination.

KLONG! (2x)

Seemingly randomly; 2 brass pails, or washtubs, hit the top of the heads of both arguing monster girls, causing them both to fall to the floor and groan and rub their heads. This was strange as normally it was just Kurumu whom was the usual target of this.

"Can you both keep it down for once? I'm trying to study some more before the next test." Said a young girl in a witch hat. No, it wasn't cosplay, she was a monster too. A witch actually, her name was Yukari Sendo. Upon first glance, you'd think she's too young to go to a high school… that's cause she is. The only reason she's here is cause she is highly intelligent academically despite her age, which is 12, and that washtub attack was her favorite spell. She was currently reading a book and looked in the direction of the commotion, but went back to her reading material upon her finishing her request.

"Of course YOU'D be the first one to open a book, little miss book-smart… actually, considering your as flat as a book…" Kurumu began to mock the little one, but that only caused a second washtub to fall upon on her, a bigger one this time.

"I'm trying to concentrate." Was all Yukari said in a dry tone, keeping her attention on her book and for once ignoring the jab about her chest size, which happens often.

"What exactly are you reading, Yukari?" Tsukune kindly asked. Before Yukari could answer, Kurumu (who had recovered and had a forehead vein) swiped the book from the tiny witch.

"HEY! Give it back! Give it back!" Yukari cried, attempting to grab her book back, by the succubus merely held her at bay with an arm and a sly grin.

"What are even reading anyway? Some dumb school shi…?" Kurumu did not finish her insult due to looking at the page that happened to be open, and her eyes widened in shock before they began to shake in distress. She dropped the book shortly after.

"Kurumu? What's wrong?" Tsukune asked, wondering why his succubus friend acted that way. She did not respond, looking shaken up by whatever she saw on that page, so Tsukune picked up the book and looked at the page to see…

"Red-Eyes Black Dragon?… What kind of monster is that?" He asked, as that was the monster that was named on the page, the boy having never heard of that monster before nor that type. Don't get him wrong, ever since coming here, he's learned the hard way that any monster he's heard about in stories and films were real, and most likely went to school here. Of course, the number one rule is to NEVER take on your true monster form… not that any student actually FOLLOWED that rule but regardless, he's still pretty new to all this monster stuff, considering he now was one. The only thing keeping him human was a special Lock around his arm, which seals away the beast inside him as he can't use transformation magic.

With that being said, he's never seen such as creature as the one on the page. It looked terrifying.

"You mean you don't know?" Asked Mizore, then Tsukune gave an embarrassed grin before pointing to himself, basically saying 'human'. "Right… dragons are known as the strongest ground species," the Yuki-Onna explained, then a close-up of the page the red-eyed beast was shown before she continued. "This one is one of the most dangerous… the Red-Eyes Black Dragon."

"Its strength is also said to be equal to the even more deadly Blue-Eyes White Dragon… even we vampires don't get anywhere near those things." Moka added, putting in some of her own knowledge.

"Really?" Tsukune blinked. He couldn't help but ask that question, hearing this one dragon could rival a vampire. From what he understood, vampires were S-Class monsters… which in short means: 'don't mess with me, or I'll fuck you up'. Moka, or at least, the other side of her, was a total badass. Not many monsters can take her out, and only a few have gotten pretty damn close.

"Aww, and big bad titty-pies afraid of a wittle Red-Eyes Black Dragon?" Yukari mocked Kurumu, unable to resist doing so despite how serious of a threat a Red-Eyes Black Dragon was.

"Little? Are you kidding me?! Just one could've roasted Kuyo with one blast! I'd rather get breast reduction rather than be caught by one of those things!" Kurumu claimed, and it must have been serious, as her big breasts were her pride and joy, and just hearing those words come out of her mouth was completely out of her character.

"I actually agree with sweater stretchers. Red-Eyes' are known to have complete mastery over fire, its own attacks are said to be even hotter than a volcano. Some say it was born IN a volcano" Mizore added, shaking a bit in fear. Because she was an ice-being, she was vulnerable to fire and extreme temperatures. At least with Kuyo, whom was an S-Class Fox Yokai God, Kurumu and her were willing to protect Tsukune that fateful day. But when it came to THIS dragon, they clearly had no intention of going anywhere NEAR such a monster.

At that point, the door to the Newspaper club opened, and another girl in gothic-like clothing walked in, though she looked older than the rest of them. This was Ruby Tojo, a witch like Yukari, but a much stronger one. "Hey guys. Figured I'd find you in here" She kindly said.

"Ruby?" Asked Moka.

"What are you doing here?" Asked Tsukune, as the witch wasn't an official member of this club, but helped the schools headmaster mainly. She did poke in from time-to-time.

"There's a special event being held by the headmaster in the gym, and he wants all students to attend. So I've been charged with gathering everyone." Ruby said.

"Sucks to be you right now" Kurumu joked.

"Actually, your the last group. Everyone's already there." Ruby said.

"So what's the special event about?" Tsukune had to ask as he and the others gathered their things.

Ruby put a finger to her chin, thinking for a moment. "Hmm… something about proof of the potential bond between humans and monsters. Involving the popular card game, Duel Monsters."

"Duel… Monsters?" Tsukune questioned, having never heard of that game before. The girls looked at him like if he was crazy. They thought he was joking, but he genuinely looked confused.

"… seriously?" Asked Kurumu.

"Your human and you don't even know about it?" Asked Moka, she and the monster girls finding it very odd the former human never heard of the game. Compared to its Pocket Monsters counterpart, which sold the most video games on the market, Duel Monsters was the highest selling card game in the planet!

(AN: Believe it or not, the above statistics are actually true.)

"I was uhhh… never really a fan of card games" Tsukune admitted, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment upon the second part of his sentence.

"Well, to put simply, Duel Monsters is a game based on us" Mizore said.

Again, Tsukune was surprised that he had to blink again. So the entire time there was a whole game based on the very same monsters he goes to school with, but he never had ANY idea?… Wow. He needed to get out more. Now that he thought about it, it was no wonder he was so freaked out when he first popped up here; anyone else would be foaming at the mouth in excitement! "So… all monsters are in this game?" Tsukune asked.

"Only until after monsters graduate from Yokai Academy, and only with their consent. That was the deal between Industrial Illusions, the company who created the game, the Dark Lords themselves… as well as the 3 Egyptian Gods" Ruby clarified.

"Wow… so in addition to learning about living amongst humans, you'll also be included in a game?" Tsukune asked… though he had no idea who the Egyptian Gods were, but he has heard of the Dark Lords.

"Not even if that company paid me a million yen," Kurumu folded her arms. "Last thing I need is a bunch of stupid, horny, stinky, slobbery human kids drooling over my card."

"Uh, *ahem*." Tsukune cleared his throat.

Kurumu then realized her mistake and blushed with an embarrassed smile. "Oh, but your fine, Tsukune!" She quickly said. Even if he was only half-human now, he still was one.

"Smoooooth…" Mizore commented. The Newspaper Club finally left the club room, following Ruby to the gym.

XXX

The gym. Was. PACKED.

Every single person at this school was in attendance. On the stage in the back was a large projector screen that came down from the ceiling, which would allow all those in attendance to see whatever would be showed. All the Newspaper Clubs friends were there as well, such as Gin, Fang-Fang, Haiji, etc.; and each had all walked into the gym via a line and where given a number which corresponded to the numbered chair set up in the gym. With over thousands of different monsters, it must have taken the school board some time to get this set up. Luckily, the Newspaper Club had all gotten seats next to each other. And in the front-midde rows, which were not too far or too close, so they had the best seats in the house!

"Good morning, everyone!" Welcomed the cheerful Miss Nekonome, one of the most beloved teachers in the school, and was also the Newspaper Clubs homeroom teacher as well. She had cat-like ears on top of her head that were poorly disguised as hair, as she was a nekomusume. She spoke through a microphone so everyone could hear her. "Thank you all for coming to such a special occasion! As your all aware, humans have created a highly popular game based on monsters like us called: Duel Monsters. And after you graduate, you of course have the option of getting an official card of yourself added to the game."

"'Cept little Tsukune over here" Gin joked, then he got his foot stomped on by Kurumu (who looked annoyed at his comment). He had to hold his mouth to repress the very wolf-like howl he would have unleashed, for he was a werewolf... a very perverted werewolf at that.

"So our school headmaster, Mikogami, had arranged a special program that perfectly shows off this incredible game, courtesy of KaibaCorp!" Miss Nekonome finished. He was rarely seen but sure enough, Mikogami, the headmaster himself, walked forward from behind the cat-lady. He wore VERY long robes over his body which also darkened his human from inside, so it was impossible to tell what kind of monster he could be. He pulled out a video tape from his robes.

"Heheh, I think everyone will enjoy this... it was quite a steal..." He said, then a flashback played.

-FLASHBACK-

A man in a business suit was sitting at his desk in his office going through a computer when another man dressed in all black opened the office door. "Mister Kaiba? There's someone here to see you." Said the man.

"Tell them don't bother, Roland. I'm a very busy man." Said the man behind the desk, being Seto Kaiba.

"He was very insistent, sir. He wants to discuss a business proposal with you." The man Roland said.

Kaiba looked up. "Then tell him sorry, he's really not my type."

"Oh, how that hurts me..." said a new voice, and a man in long robes walked into the room, shocking Roland. It was Mikogami. "Nice office you got here. Its like mine, though I prefer it a little darker, maybe a few scented candles laying around..." Mikogami joked.

"Hey! How did you get past security?" Asked Roland, as KaibaCorp had some of the best security system and personnel on the planet.

"Fire whomever was on duty," Kaiba said to Roland, then turned his attention to the trespasser. "As for you, it's too early for Halloween, so take some candy from the reception desk, and go." The President then began to get back to work on whatever he was doing.

"Hmm... like father like son," As Mikogami said those words, Kaiba froze for a second and his eyes widened a bit, now giving the robed man his attention. "Whatever happened to him anyway? True he was brash, but he was so much nicer, much better customer service." The headmaster sneered.

"... Who are you?" Kaiba asked, now a little interested.

"Oh, don't worry, Mister Kaiba. I won't take too much of your time." Mikogami said. Kaiba just stared at this robed man... there was something about him that didn't feel right, but that's when Kaiba heard a roar... a VERY familiar roar, which got his eyes to widen again. He looked around, but saw nothing. The old man grinned. "Something wrong, Mister Kaiba?"

Kaiba recovered, but still felt strange. 'What the heck was that? I could've sworn I just heard Blue-Eyes.' He thought. No human could see it, but transparent images of his 3 Blue-Eyes White Dragons roared directly at the intruder from behind Kaiba, with the third Blue-Eyes coiled around him in a protective embrace. The only one who seemed aware of this was the Mikogami, but even the intimidation from those 3 dragons didn't seem to faze him. In fact, his grin got slightly bigger.

"What is it that you want?" Kaiba asked.

"Well, you see Kaiba, I run a very special school. In fact, a certain game is quite popular there. I'm sure you can take a lucky guess at what that is." Mikogami said, which was kind of a lie, but not exactly false either. No all students of his school actually play Duel Monsters, but they knew of its existence and as stated before this flashback, it was all part of a deal with Pegasus' company.

"I'm assuming you didn't come all the way here if it was Go Fish?" Kaiba 'asked'.

"Precisely. Many of my students have... shall we say, ties to the game of Duel Monsters. In fact; it was because of a little boy with spikey, coiffed hair and a passion called... heart of the cards, I think?... which got many of them involved with the game," Mikogami said, almost taunting Kaiba with his choice of words. Just hearing Yugi's description and catchphrase got Kaiba to frown and grit his teeth. Can he EVER get away from that kid? This also caused the transparent Blue-Eyes' to roar again, as if feeling Kaiba's emotions, and the one coiled around him went to attack the interloper... but an invisible flaring aura of energy forced the beast to back off before its jaws could bite down. The dragons remained to protect their master, but with such a power able to repel them, they weren't gonna try that again unless the REALLY get pissed or Kaiba somehow ordered them to attack.

"What would really make their day is if they saw official footage of such a battle, and I know you must have some sort of security cameras that have picked up on that very Duel." Mikogami finished. "Of course, I can pay whatever you want. Cards, yen.. or if you'd rather, we can also arrange an agreement between our establishments. What do you say, Kaiba? Help the next generation of Duelists learn from the best?"

Kaiba closed his eyes smugly before opening them again, giving a hard stare to the headmaster. "So let me get this straight: you want a video of my most embarrassing loss of my dueling career, just to score some brownie points with your students?"

"Well, you can't blame an old man for trying... then again, its not like the world doesn't know about it anyway. Such a lucky draw that boy made, gathering all 5 pieces of Exodia... hmmm, what was his name again? I just can't put my finger on it..." Mikogami asked, clearly toying with Kaiba more.

Kaiba frowned, but then finally then smiled. "Fine then. I'll show you where we keep all our security tapes."

Mikogami grinned. Kaiba and Roland lead the monster to the security room, with a second guard matching Roland's uniform joined then. They stopped upon a door marked 'security'. "Thank you very much, gentleman. I'll just grab the tape and…" Mikogami said, but Roland grabbed his shoulder and the second guard grabbed the other shoulder before the old man could move.

"I said I'd show you where the tape was... I never said you can have it." Kaiba said with a grin that matched Mikogami's from earlier. "Now these two gentlemen will be more than happy to escort you out. Don't want you tripping on those bedsheets your wearing." The businessman began to walk away, leaving his staff to deal with the old man.

When he got back to his office however…

Mikogami: … Welcome home. Kept the seat warm for you.

Kaiba was wide-eyed. He didn't know how, but Mikogami was somehow at his desk, though it mostly annoyed him if anything. "How did you get back here?"

Mikogami got up from his seat, walking over to Kaiba. Even now, he still felt the presence of his three dragons, but it did little to slow him down. "Quite simple, really. Its called: walking." He claimed, having a flashback to when he was in the hands of Kaiba's goon, only they were on the floor groaning in pain while Mikogami looked perfectly fine. Its not like an old man like him could do anything to them, right? "I understand your a very busy man. A company to run, souls to break, dreams to crush…" He continued. "But I'm afraid I can't leave here without that tape." He didn't say this in a threatening way, it was more like a he-already-knew way.

"You know, I was actually being nice before; maybe I would've E-Mailed you the file instead. Perhaps in HD quality…" Kaiba said with a smile, then frowned again. "Now, you can forget it. So do me a favor, and get off my property before I have security put YOU on a tape." Kabia then proceeded to ignore the old man, and walk around him back to his desk.

"I thought you'd say that, so how's about we settle this the old-fashioned way?" Mikogami said, which did cause Kaiba to turn and try to insult him again, but stopped himself because Mikogami was holding up a Deck of cards… Duel Monsters cards. The one on the bottom was a Seven-Armed Fiend. "I challenge you to a Duel, Seto Kaiba. If I win, that tape is mine… but should I lose, I will leave this building immediately. No more tricks." Mikogami wagered.

"You sure you wanna do that? It might be too much stimulation for you. Wouldn't want such a sensei like yourself having a Heart Attack now, do we?" Kaiba was one to never turn down a challenge, but did this old man honestly believe he could take him on? From what he gathered Mikogami barely knew anything about the game, and just wanted an excuse to bond with his students.

Mikogami grinned. "Your rejecting me?… Is that fear I hear in your voice, Kaiba? Are you afraid of losing to an old man? Then again, you had to con one into playing your game, then still lost to his Deck soon after."

NOW… Kaiba was pissed. Its bad enough he knew details only those who were present that day would know, but this old fool dared mock him further? Him? Seto Kaiba? AFRAID?! "Let me rephrase. If you win… you will NEVER see my face ever again. I can PROMISE you that." Mikogami added, not that anyone could see his face in that dark hood, but still…

"You know what? That's best idea to come out of your mouth. So lets stop bickering like children, and settle this like adults!" Kaiba said, accepting the headmasters challenge.

The memory skipped to the end of the Duel, with both players LP dropping to zero at the exact same time. Kaiba was shocked. "Oh dear. Looks like a draw. Up for a rematch?" Mikogami 'asked'. Kaiba was still silent. The cards this man used were nothing like he'd ever seen before. Mikogami chuckled before speaking again. "Don't worry… I'm only teasing. I really must be getting back home, these old bones need some rest."

"Your kidding!" Kaiba shouted. "Your leaving?!"

"Awww, you had fun playing with me? How sweet." Mikogami joked. "But I'm a man of my word. I didn't lose, but I didn't win either. Its been a pleasure doing business with you, Seto Kaiba." The old man began to leave the room, but then turned around. "Oh… and one more thing…" his eyes took on a gleam of some sort, and his grin became a little creepy. "Do continue to take care of Kisara."

The moment Kaiba heard that name, he felt a immediate pain in his chest for some strange reason. His expression also showed great emotional pain. "Big Bro? Big Bro, you okay?" Mokuba asked, but his older brother was completely unresponsive.

Mikogami grinned wider. "… I'm sorry, was it was something I said?" He 'apologized'.

Kaiba shook off whatever he was feeling, even though the pain was still there. "Just go already! Get out of my sight!" He ordered.

"Yes, of course. Wouldn't want to overstay my welcome…" Mikogami said, even though his grin did not disappear. He left KaibaCrop and walked down the path, where he reached into his robe… and pulled out (and looked down at) a security tape, continuing to grin.

-END FLASHBACK-

Mikogami began to load the tape into the player, then took his seat with the staff at the front.

"EXCUSE ME! MOVE! OUTTA THE WAY! MAKE ROOM!" Said a bratty voice nearby. Looking in its direction, the Newspaper club saw it was Kokoa Shuzen, another vampire like Moka who had red hair as opposed to Moka's pink... and she was also her little half-sister. She was pushing and shoving her way to her assigned seat, which in an ironic twist of fate was by the Newspaper Club. "... oh great, you dorks." She groaned, seeing where she ended up. Her pet bat, which she named Kou, flew around before landing on her shoulder. "Can this day get any worse…?" She moaned as she finally took her seat.

After the lights in the gym dimmed, the video began to play. The first thing everyone saw was 2 humans on platforms in some kind of stadium. One was tall and had an arrogant look on his face, while the other was short and seemed kinda nervous despite the brave front he was putting on.

"I designed this virtual stadium myself. Impressive, hmm?" Said the taller human. "I think you'll agree, it adds a bit more life to the game. We'll each begin with 2000 Life Points, first player to hit zero loses. Are you ready to play, runt?" As he said that, two score counters appeared with the value of 2000 displayed in them, each having a name attached to it: "Yugi" and "Kaiba". Those were the humans' names, the monsters gathered.

"Playtime is over, Kaiba!" Said the smaller Duelist and then… none of the student body watching knew how, but when the camera finally flipped back to the spiky-haired kid (Yugi), his appearance appeared to have slightly changed. Why? They didn't know, for humans can't use magic… special effects maybe? "Now Kaiba, prepare yourself, because it's time to Duel!" The smaller Duelist… well, at least he WAS the smaller Duelist a second ago. He appeared slightly taller… unless it was just the way the camera was angled. His tone also sounded a little more confident.

Kaiba opening move was Hitotsu-Me Giant, which was a cyclops and an A-Class monster, but Yugi's was a better one; calling upon Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress #1. What the students didn't expect was the cards actually came to life! The Yugi kid looked just as shocked, which Kaiba explained was a hologram. The monster students had to admit, for holograms, they looked pretty realistic. A battle ensues between the Summoned monsters as a third and fourth human (Joey and Mokuba respectively) appear, with Winged Dragon's fireball attack destroying the cyclops instantly, and dealing Kaiba a small amount of damage.

Geez… for computer simulated graphics, its animations, sounds, and the destruction of one of them certainly looked pretty convincing. The tall blonde-haired kid on the sidelines cheered on Yugi for taking the lead.

"Well played, Yugi," Kaiba said, but he wasn't giving genuine praise. "But how will you deal with this?" He then Summoned a new creature, one that made both the people in the video and the students watching it now question such a dumb play. What he played was a monster that was in the lowest class of its type.

"Saggi the Dark Clown? But that monster has barely any ATK strength." Yugi questioned, as Saggi only had 600 compared to Winged Dragon's 1400, Yugi's monster having just a little over double the power.

"I agree with the kid. Why Saggi the Dark Clown?" Ruby asked.

"That's one of the weakest spellcasters, even with all his tricky magic." Yukari added.

"And you'd know that, right shrimp?" Kurumu joked, which the loli witch gave the busty succubus an annoyed glance combined with a forehead vein. She was VERY tempted to use her washtub attack, but didn't wanna cause a scene.

"True your Winged Dragon's ATK is 1400, while my Dark Clown's only 600…" Kaiba appeared to agree, but then slapped another card down. "But if combine it with this card…"

"A Magic Card!" Said Yugi, seeing what his opponent was doing.

"Exactly. The Negative Energy Generator. It multiples my monsters ATK by 3." Kaiba said, continuing his turn. After the played the Spell Card, dark energy crackled around Saggi's body, which caused him to grow in size, as well as strengthen its power to 1800. Now it was stronger than Winged Dragon. Once Kaiba gave the over to attack, the Dark Clown sent that same type of energy at Winged Dragon, which caused the dragon to swirl around until it vanished. Of course, this also lowered Yugi's score, putting Kaiba in the lead by 200 points just like he was only one turn ago. After the destruction of his dragon, Kaiba's Saggi then proceeded to attack and destroy 3 more of Yugi's monsters in a row.

"Your not faring any better than the old man did, Yugi. Your Deck is just as weak and feeble as your grandfather." Kaiba taunted,

"Okay! That was uncalled for!" Kurumu shouted, not liking how Kaiba taunted Yugi by mentioning his granddaddy. Besides, that was just a game, so why take it that far?

"What an asshole. Why bring the kids grandpa into this?" Mizore said, agreeing with Kurumu which in itself was a rare occasion.

"Maybe there was an altercation before they started playing?" Tsukune suggested, but he wasn't sure. Clearly those two in the video aren't friends by ANY stretch of the imagination, so why were they playing against each other anyway?

"My grandpa is a great man, and a better Duelist than you'll ever be!" Yugi shot back, not letting that insult fly. "He entrusted me with his cards, and I can feel his heart in this Deck." Yugi continued, then added with narrowing eyes: "I doubt you have that kind of faith in YOUR cards, Kaiba."

Upon hearing that, the monster students couldn't help but feel warm from the humans words. So he was fighting for his grandpa, and that Kaiba creep must have insulted him or something. Even if this was just a game and a recording, they could feel the spikey-haired teens emotions with how he refused to give up. To our main harem protagonists, it appeared there was another person in the human world just like Tsukune, who cared deeply about others. Especially monsters. For as every one of his monsters that fell, he gritted his teeth not in annoyance, but with sorrow and regret he put his cards through that.

Of course for all the students knew, this was just an act for entertainment purposes… but the way the spikey kid spoke and reacted was something that not even actors can replicate without looking totally fake. He appeared to be 100% genuine, and looked to believe every word he said.

"I believe in my grandpa's Deck..." Yugi then draws a new card... then grins. What did he draw? Something good? "And my faith rewards me with Gaia the Fierce Knight!" Upon Summoning that monster, Kaiba grit his own teeth as the horse the knight was riding neighed upon being released from their card. The monsters watching were also surprised. Out of a Deck of 40 cards, Yugi actually drew one strong enough to take on the powered up Saggi. That's not all, while Gaia was a very human-like monster, his trusty steed was an incredibly fast horse, faster than the wind itself. In fact, he can rival the speed of werewolfs like Gin, and rumor has it Gaia could manipulate other forms of monster to ride. For those reasons, he was considered S-Class.

Gaia rushed over to the Dark Clown, and jabbed one of his lances into the Spellcaster, the weaker monster standing no chance and fading away to the Graveyard. Once again, Kaiba's points took a hit, him having 1300 remaining while Yugi had 1600. The spikey-haired Duelist had his arms folded with the upmost confidence, telling Kaiba to take his own turn.

"He did it!" Said Moka.

"Serves that jerk right!" Said Yukari.

"Eh, he just got a lucky draw." Kokoa commented. All in all, most of the video watchers were glad the boy was able to make a comeback. And with an S-Class monster no less, so not many things could stand in his way from achieving victory and avenging his grandpa.

That is until...

Kaiba: I call on the Blue-Eyes White Dragon!

"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!" In a blinding flash of light, the legendary and highly destructive Blue-Eyes White Dragon took to the field. Not only were Yugi and Joey shocked (with the latter saying Kaiba tore a copy of said card in half earlier, which in itself was even more disrespectful), but so were every single monster in the gym aside from Mikogami, who grinned weirdly about it. Again, despite it being a hologram on a recorded video, it still looked and sounded TERRIFYING. Very few monsters, even S-Class ones, faced such a creature... and lived afterward to tell the tale. With a single blast, Blue-Eyes White Dragon wiped Gaia off the field. The blast itself was so bright, you couldn't even see the monsters destruction.

"Whoa... so that's a Blue-Eyes White Dragon..." Tsukune said in awe, never having seen such power, not even from the other half of Moka. That knight stood no chance... one energy beam, and he was gone! No wonder that thing was to be wary off.

'Of course that was,' said a new voice, but one only Moka could hear. This was her inner self, Ura Moka, her full-powered vampire half. It was kept sealed away by the rosary around her neck, but she does come out when Tsukune removes it... then again, he's the ONLY one that can for some strange reason that no one could figure out. 'Its like you told him before: while dragons are normally S-Class monsters... that dragon and its red-eyed rival are in a class ALL their own. Just one could wipe an entire kingdom of vampires off the map. '

"Faith or no faith, you WILL fall before my superior monsters, Yugi. Power is what this game is all about, you fool... faith is for losers, like your pathetic grandfather..." Kaiba insulted Yugi, kicking him while he was down, which did make the monsters' hate Kaiba a little more with how little he seemed to care about his monsters aside from their power, while Yugi appeared to be quite the opposite. Despite this setback, the spikey-haired teen still did not surrender and played a few Defense Mode monsters, but Blue-Eyes blasted them away with even more ease than Saggi did earlier.

"In your entire Deck, there's not a single card that can stand up to a Blue-Eyes White Dragon... so what hope do you have against two?" Kaiba then played a second Blue-Eyes, just as menacing as the first, which appeared right next to the other one.

"Damn. He's got two Blue-Eyes'?" Said Gin.

"He was struggling with just one..." said Ruby.

Yugi seemed to be nervous after the second Blue-Eyes spawned, which the monsters' didn't blame him. Blue-Eyes White Dragon was one powerful creature alone, but now he had 2 to deal with. "... I won't give up... Grandpa's counting on me..." He drew his next card, willing to fight on, which was admirable. Whatever happened between his grandpa and that Kaiba character must have been serious. He then played his next card, which was a powerful Spell called Swords of Revealing Light. Swords of Light rained down upon the Blue-Eyes', which paralyzed them. It was a good play. As powerful as those dragons were, they were NOT immune to magic.

"How desperate. What good will a 3-turn delay do you?" Kaiba taunted again, but Yugi did not respond right away, he was focusing on his hand, but the camera's angle prevented anyone from seeing what he was holding. Did he have some kind of plan? "Quit stalling, or you will forfeit the match!" Kaiba threatened.

"That guy needs to get a life. Its just a game." Kokoa said, still not really interested at this video presentation, figuring it was a waste of her time... but did have to admit, Kaiba took a measly card game a little too seriously.

"That's the only sensible thing you'd said since coming here..." Mizore coolly said, which did get the redhead aggravated and it visually showed, but she kept her temper under control and resisted the urge to smack her down by having her bat transform into a large hammer, which was one of his powers.

"I NEVER forfeit!" Yugi shot back then drew another card. But instead of playing it, he Set a monster face-down. To counter, Kaiba Summoned Judge Man, who was played outside the ring of Light Swords surrounding his dragons, and had him attack and destroy Yugi's face-down monster. In response, Yugi Summoned a more powerful monster: "Dark Magician! Attack!"

Yugi's trusty Dark Magician appeared on the field, whom was a famous monster in both the game and the monster realm. He was one of the few witch/wizard type monsters that could go toe-to-toe with some of the most savage beasts in existence. He also had the power to cast spells that normally required several witches to cast, yet he only needed a small portion of his own energy to do so. There were even some magical abilities that only he himself could utilize, some of these spells many witches/wizards could only DREAM of pulling off. Even now, with a mere raise of his hand, his ultimate levels of magical power shattered the Judge Man instantly, not needing to use his wand at all; which was also extremely rare (pretty close to impossible) as witches/wizards powers are severely weaker without a wand. This only further confirmed the power he commanded, and was ranked as S-Class because of all these factors.

Of course, no one was really sure of his origins. He just seemed to appear one day…

"His Judge Man got sentenced to death." Fang-Fang made a small joke.

"Plus because of those Swords, the kids Dark Magician is safe from harm." Said Haiji.

"And that's Yugi's most famous monster!" Yukari said, stars in her eyes.

"You know that guy?" Asked Tsukune, though he seemed to be talking more about the Dark Magician's owner than the monster himself. Yukari did not answer however, she seemed to be entranced by the Dark Magician. He had to admit though, the Spellcaster looked pretty badass.

"Your Judge Man falls!" Yugi said as Kaiba's score dropped down to 1000. Yugi himself had 900 since Gaia was attacked in Attack Position earlier, but the lead wasn't that big as he was slowly catching up. And as a bonus, he still had one free turn since both Blue-Eyes' were frozen by his Spell.

"Ooooooh… a sacrifice that doesn't even phase me," Kaiba said, arrogantly. If it wasn't already obvious he cared little at his monsters well-being, it certainly was now. Sure they were cards, but they were still based on actual monsters. "And though neither dragon can move, for one more turn…" Kaiba drew his next card. "My next card is: the THIRD Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

Everyone monster in the gym looked just as freaked out as Yugi did upon that announcement (again, except for Mikogami who had the opposite reaction).

"Your kidding!" Said Kurumu.

"A THIRD Blue-Eyes'?!" Said Yukari. Sure enough, a 3rd White Dragon appeared in front of the Swords of Revealing Light, roaring upon its Summoning. Just like the first one before it, it unleashed a stream of lightning from its mouth, straight at the Dark Magician. Although he lasted a second longer than Gaia did, he was ultimately no match for the dragons destructive power head-on. This also dropped Yugi to 400 LP so if he receives another attack like that… its over.

"So tell me Yugi, how's your faith now?" Kaiba said, officially ending his turn and causing the Light Swords that imprisoned the other 2 dragons to vanish. The dragons themselves then roared in synchronization and menacingly at Yugi, looking like they wanted him as a snack. "On my next turn, ALL 3 of my Blue-Eyes White Dragons are free to attack! This game's over no matter what card you draw…"

The Duel looked like a lost cause. Taking on a Blue-Eyes was hard enough, but now there were 3 just awaiting the command to blast away Yugi's final 400 LP. He fought hard, and lasted pretty long, but it looked like this was the final turn. Joey continued to cheer him on, but Yugi hesitated and started to break a sweat. He slowly reached for his cards to take his next Draw Phase, but then stopped suddenly… was he giving up?

Some of the students commented in this:

"Hey. The kid stopped."

"Is he finally surrendering?"

"Well, if he puts his hand over his Deck…"

"Come on, you Hedgehog-Head! Don't you dare give up! Put that asshole in his place!" Kurumu yelled out as if Yugi could hear her, also standing up and pointing to the screen the video was on. This also caused her friends to tell her shush and pull her back down (ironic as that was something Yugi's friends had to do with Joey several times). Some other students were either cheering him on or saying it was over, and thats when Yugi started moving again, and gained a smile.

"Their right. I've got to believe in the cards like my friends believe in me." Weirdly, that was his response, as if he somehow heard the commotion the students generated. They didn't know what friends he was talking about, but they assumed it was the monsters of his cards, which got the students to like him even more, even if he did end up losing.

"Draw your last pathetic card, so I can end this, Yugi." Kaiba said.

"My grandpa's Deck has no pathetic cards, Kaiba." Yugi responded with the exact same smile and the most confidence he's shown throughout the entire Duel, willing to go out fighting if it came down to that. "But it does contain…" He then held up his newly drawn card, a card that made every monster in the gym gape (excluding Mikogami, who still had a grin)… "The unstoppable Exodia!"

"AAAAAH! IMPOSSIBLE!" Kaiba said, his arrogance finally replaced with fear.

"EXODIA?!" Ruby shouted out. A few other students did so too, fully aware of that monster.

"Exodia?" Tsukune had to ask, the only one who had no idea what was so special about that card, but it must have been serious.

"Exodia's probably the most powerful monster aside from the Egyptian Gods!" Kurumu said.

"He was't given a ranking either… his strength is incalculable…" Mizore said.

"He's so strong, 5 pieces of himself were separated and split into five different dimensions!" Yukari added. In an ironic twist, Yugi played 4 more 'pieces' from the only 4 cards in his hand at the same time she made that statement.

"I've assembled ALL five special cards… all five pieces of the puzzle!" Yugi said and with that, a star appeared before him. One arm came out. Then another. Finally the massive head of Exodia himself appeared, pulling himself free from the 5 separate dimensions he was sealed in. He towered over all 3 Blue-Eyes White Dragons, and his mere presence caused them to slowly back off.

"Exodia… it's not possible! No one's ever been able to call HIM!" Kabia looked very distressed, and rightfully so.

"Shit. It really is him…" Kokoa said, now as surprised as everyone else, having been in denial of Yugi's claim.

"The Forbidden One…" Moka said.

"Who hasn't been seen for plus 5000 years…" Gin said.

"Until right now…" Haiji said.

The Forbidden One was truly a sight to behold. All that power, freed after so long. Not even all 3 Dark Lords could awaken him, yet this one human kid did… how the hell did he do it? Drawing Gaia when he needed him? Fine. Luck of the draw. But all 5 limbs of a literal titan of the monster world, and from 40 cards?… The odds were extremely slim, but Yugi pulled it off… and he was the first one to do so… even if it was only in a game.

"Exodia… OBLITERATE!" Upon Yugi's command, Exodia charged a ball of energy in his hands, then released it as a MASSIVE blast of unprecedented power that expanded VERY quickly! The Blue-Eyes' didn't get the chance to roar in pain, for they shattered the moment the energy touched them. Kaiba screamed as his prized dragons were destroyed, and his LP dropping down to zero.

The gym was silent even as Joey and Mokuba in the video confirmed Kabia lost… it took a minute for it to sink in. Many students and faculty blinked a few times before it successfully registered. Yugi had won.

"… he won…" Tsukune was the one to break the silence. A few seconds later, the entire gym erupted in cheers as well.

"You play only for power Kaiba, and that is why you lost… but if you put your heart in the game, there's nothing you can't do." Yugi said. Kaiba kept staring down at the table that brought the cards to life, wondering aloud how and why he could possibly lose. "If you truly want to know…" Something weird then happened with Yugi… what was that eye shining on his forehead? "OPEN YO-"

The video suddenly paused, but it wasn't due to a remote control or the tape being ejected. The picture seemed to freeze, as if the file was corrupted somehow. The students were left with a freeze frame of Yugi holding his hand out. That's it.

"Oh dear. Looks like the tape's eroded" said Mikogami, but it wasn't clear if that was a joke or not. He then stood up from his seat and turned to face the rest of the student body. "Thank you all for participating in such a special event. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Your all dismissed." He said with a grin. With his permission, everyone began leaving, teachers and students alike.

Well there's your prologue. This page of it anyway. So as you can see, the monster world of RV is fully aware of the monsters of Yu-Gi-Oh… which if you remember from the trailer chapters now that you have more context, isn't it ironic that Kurumu is afraid of Red-Eyes, yet she will be under Joey's ownership anyway? Lol!

Did you also catch some references to the OG Yu-Gi-Oh lore? Had to add them in not just for sake of the reference, its also being brought up for plot reasons. Speaking of plot, I know its probably a letdown you didn't get to see Kaiba's Duel with Mikogami. Don't worry, we'll cover that soon when Kaiba actually appears in the story aside from a flashback.

Not really much else to say except thanks for checking this out. Looking forward to your thoughts in the comments section. I'll see you in part 2!
