Summary: If only witches grow wings when they reach a certain age, then why did Luz wake up with a pair growing out of her back?

To say that Luz was surprised, was an understatement. I mean, how are you supposed to feel when you suddenly have wings growing out of you back?

"Man, Kid, these are growing fast." Eda said, "I'll be teaching you how to fly by the end of next week."

"Eda, this is serious! What am I supposed to say about this!?"

"I would've thought you'd be happy. I mean, you did say you were jealous of Boots when her wings started to grow."

"Well, yeah, I think it's cool to have wings, but I didn't expect to actually grow any! How am I able to, I'm human!"

"Are you... fully human?" Eda asked, "Are you sure you aren't half witch?"

"I thought I was." Luz said, "Even if I was half witch, why wouldn't I be able to do magic? Why wouldn't I have pointed ears? Why wouldn't I be like every other witch?"

"Well, it could be due to the fact that you lived in a world without magic." Eda said, looking back at the small growths coming out of Luz's back, "These should be finished growing by the end of the week, then it'll take another week until they're ready for flight."

Luz was nearly having a panic attack. If this was true, then her life was a lie. She's half witch, she has wings, what would her mom say? Eda tossed a shirt at Luz.

"Put that on, it'll keep your wings from ripping through your hoodie, unless you want to go out without a shirt on."

Luz put the shirt on. It was a little tight, but it was purple and she did like that color.

"That shirt has a special spell on it. It's made to allow your wings to grow without ripping your shirt. Think of it like a training bra."

Luz covered her ears and started making noise.

"I'm not listening!" She said.

Luz walked out the door and went to hang out with her friends. Eda watched Luz leave and a thought came to her mind.

"Who could be her other parent? Both Lily and I were in the Human Realm around the time she was conceived, there was also the rumor that Belos was in the Human Realm around then. I... I would've remembered her mom, right? Then again, I was pretty hammered then." Eda said, remembering the night, "I was so drunk that I was seeing things, still want to know how I ended up three miles away in a ditch."
