Chapter 24: Your Worst Nightmare

Monday Night Raw: Honda Center - Anaheim, California, February 18, 2008 (42 Days, 6 weeks until WrestleMania XXIV)

Sheree sat in a chair by the makeup table, adding the finishing touches to her makeup for the night. It was a few minutes before the show started and the doors were about to be opened to the public.

The young woman wore her 'Headstrong' themed black shirt in the form of a crop top, exposing her toned abdomen, skin-tight black pants and black converse sneakers. Her leather jacket was resting on the back of the seat she occupied.

There was a different buzz in the air as WrestleMania etched closer and closer with each passing day. Sheree had to stop herself from bouncing in her seat out of excitement several times. She didn't wanna mess up her makeup.

But the excitement and pressure of competing at her first WrestleMania was something she never quite envisioned. It almost felt like a dream.

"Doing your own makeup again?"

Sheree blinked as she finished putting on some light mascara, before looking to her left, smiling instantly at the sight of Candice Michelle standing before her. "Hey Candice."

One member of the make-up crew chuckled at Candice's quip, watching with amusement as the young woman sat in one of the empty chairs next to Sheree.

"The only thing she'll let us touch is her hair."

"Really?" Candice questioned with an amused smile directed at the Bostonian brunette, making her blush, smiling innocently.

"Hey look. I love the Glam Squad, but I've seen how much makeup they put on y'all and I ain't okay with having that much... stuff on my face," Sheree explained, smiling up at the stylist. "But I'm grateful that you at least let me use your makeup Sally."

"Think nothing of it doll," Sally replied with a chuckle.

Sheree then looked back at Candice, a curious look on her face. "Aren't you cleared to compete?"

"Yep! Healthy and good to go!" Candice chirped, flexing her muscles with a wink, making Sheree chuckle. "I was suppose to appear on Raw tonight, but Mr. McMahon pushed it back to the 3rd."

Sheree's eyes widened at that, a touch annoyed. "What! But that's two weeks away?! What the hell!"

"Yeah..." Candice confirmed, unbothered by the change. "It seems like a Dray move though, so I wouldn't worry about it."

"Yeah. Unpredictability is Dray's middle name," Sheree commented, frowning. "But I still don't like it!"

Candice chuckled at this.

As they were talking, Candice caught Maria walking by. She was going to call the woman over, but paused at the sight of the irritated look she threw at Sheree on her way past.

What was that about?

"Hey! Earth to Candice!"

"Huh?" Candice looked back at Sheree who raised an eyebrow at her.

"You were spacing out for a moment there," the brunette Bostonian commented.

"Oh. I was? Sorry about that," Candice replied with an embarrassed chuckle. "So your first Mania's just around the corner. How are you feeling?"

"Excited!" Sheree exclaimed with a large grin. "And nervous! Did I mention I was excited?"

Candice laughed as Sheree began to bounce on her chair in excitement, before stopping herself with a faint blush. The young woman was almost like a lightbulb. It was so adorable!

Candice gave Sheree a cheeky wink. "I can't wait to see you put Melina in her place!"

"You two are still beefing?" Sheree asked, frowning slightly when Candice sighed. "Come on! You two need to hash things out!"

Candice looked away from Sheree, blushing as she rubbed the back of her head. "It's not like I hate her or anything. We did squash things when we feuded. She's just... annoying sometimes."

At this Sheree simply laughed, finding the expression on Candice's face amusing and cute.

"What?"

"Nothing! Hahaha!"

. . . .

The Honda Center immediately broke out into angry boos the moment the familiar, evil black-lipped smile of Kerry appeared on the titantron.

"Oh..." King muttered with a gulp at the sight of the devilish blonde slowly sauntering down the hallway, a dark evil stare in her icy blue eyes.

The young woman wore a black hoodie and a white tank top, with faded light blue skinny jeans and a pair of black ankle boots.

"Hey! HEY!"

Kerry paused, cutting her icy blue eyes to the right of her peripheral vision. The Californian crowd broke out into a huge reaction when Triple H appeared in the camera's view, a deep stern frown on his face as he stared down the young woman.

"You think I didn't notice how you were suspiciously absent when Orton got in my face earlier," the 11-time WWE Champion growled. "Are you hiding from me or something?"

Kerry chuckled icily and took a step forward, intending on walking off without a word, but the Game's large arm cut in front of her, planting his hand on the wall beside her. Her blue eyes darkened considerably.

"You ain't going anywhere! You have a lot to answer for after that stunt you pulled last night!" Hunter growled, his eyes narrowed in anger. "Why'd you do it?! Huh!"

"Why?! What? Did Orton tell you to do it?! Huh Kerry!" the Cerebral Assassin snarled, getting more and more angry as Kerry simply glared at the muscular arm in her way. "Cat got your tongue?"

"Why did you attack Freya last night?!" Triple H suddenly snapped, his patience wearing thin. Kerry flinched, but didn't respond. She simply stared at him with a cold emotionless gaze.

Triple H wordlessly moved his arm, suddenly calming down, his eyes blazing with fury towards the woman before him.

"Giving me the silent treatment? Fine," he growled. "I'm gonna focus on beating Randy's ass at WrestleMania and reclaiming the WWE Championship. But know this... something you should know quite well by now..."

Triple H leaned forward until he was face to face with the young woman, glowering into the cold evil blue eyes of the silent blonde.

"Provoking Freya is a really stupid move."

With that, Triple H leaned back, glared at Kerry one last time to make sure she got the message, and then walked away.

Kerry watched him leave with an incredibly dark look in her blue eyes, filled with malice intent and rage.

"That's a scary look..." King gulped.

"The eyes of a demon..." Jenna muttered.

"Ugh... well I was hoping we'd get some answers from Kerry as to why she attacked Freya last night," JR said. "But apparently… she refused."

"Of course she did," Jenna retorted in clear distaste, rolling her eyes. "And judging by her unusual silence... she won't be saying a thing until she feels like it."

. . . .

Later...

The familiar trumpets of "Paparazzi" played throughout the arena to a huge mixed reception of screaming pops and jeers.

The red carpet was rolled out onto the aisle as a small colony of cameramen swarmed the stage, awaiting the arrival of their esteemed champion.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the WWE Women's Champion, Melina!" Lilian Garcia announced.

"Well look who's about to grace us with her presence," King commented with amusement. The reaction from the crowd seemed to get even louder as Melina walked out onto the stage with a huge smile on her face, the WWE Women's Championship held securely across her shoulder. "Wow!"

"The red carpet has been rolled out for the WWE Women's Champion," JR said as Melina paid almost no mind to the large crowd, posing for her photographers with a huge smile on her face. If one was to look closer, they would see stitches on her forehead. "120 days."

Melina continued to pose dramatically on the stage for the flashing lights of her personal cameramen, swaying her hips to the beat of her iconic theme, before sauntering down the red carpet covered ramp, her hoard of cameramen following her as she made her way towards the ring with her prized WWE Women's Championship held above her head. "That is how long Melina has held the Women's Championship. And she's had a firm grip on that title ever since."

"Say what you want about Melina, she has managed to survive every possible challenge that has come her way," King added as Melina entered the ringside area, forgoing the ring steps completely to saunter around the ring with the title held up above her head, a wide smug smile sliding across her face as she stared down every single fan that booed her. "Everyone and their mothers said she wouldn't beat Tara Stone. They said that at Armageddon. They said that at the Royal Rumble. And just like at the Royal Rumble and at Armageddon, last night Melina was the one walking out the victor. Not Tara."

"You have gotta be kidding me!" Jenna growled as Melina walked past the announce table, smirking mockingly at them and at the irritated fans behind them. "The only reason Melina is still champion right now is because of Beth Phoenix!"

"That is true," JR commented as Melina approached the ring apron opposite the hard cameras, her personal photographers swarming around her as she stood on the apron, smirking as she continued to hold the WWE Women's Championship above her head, her home-state crowd giving her a mixed reaction.

"But look at what Melina has done in her third title reign. She beat Jamie, Candice, a rising star in Jessica, Mickie James, survived the most dominant Women's Champion in recent memory Beth Phoenix, and has beaten possibly the most terrifying woman in all of WWE three times over."

Melina turned her back to the hard cam and used the bottom ropes to propel herself upwards, hitting the splits on the apron to a huge reception. The Latin American looked back with a cheeky smirk, still in the splits on the apron and winking at the hard camera, before slipping underneath the bottom ropes, her title hanging off her arms as she rose to her feet. "Regardless of how she went about it, Melina has survived impossible odds against the most powerful of challengers and came out the victor each time."

Melina immediately jumped up onto the corner middle ropes opposite the timekeepers area, smiling as she held the coveted title above her head, unfazed by the mixed reaction she received. "We can say what we want about her conduct. But Melina is an incredible Women's Champion."

Jenna's blue eyes twitched in annoyance as she watched Melina smile smugly while surveying the crowd, but didn't have the heart to argue against JR, knowing he was right.

Melina stepped off the ropes and signalled for a microphone, her theme song fading into silence. Melina placed the Women's Title on her shoulders, pausing with a smug smile as the mixed reaction increased in volume, the boos triumphing over the loud screaming cheers.

"Melina wearing the scars of battle. She survived a war last night," King commented, groaning slightly at the sight of such a beautiful woman having to wear stitches on her forehead.

"Aww... I'm I not who you were expecting?" Melina questioned the Anaheim crowd, laughing as their boos increased. "This is why I moved to Los Angeles instead of Anaheim! At least that city shows proper respect when in the presence of greatness like myself!"

The fans responded even more heatedly at that retort, enraged by Melina's disrespect.

"Ouch..." King mumbled with amusement.

Melina laughed at their response. "I told you so!"

"I TOLD YOU SO!" the Latina laughed into the microphone. "I told you all! I told you that no matter what Tara Stone did, I would still be your champion!"

The crowd booed as Melina's smile widened. "Your Goth Queen tried EVERYTHING! She had to turn herself into a demon just to beat me and it wasn't enough!"

"Once again, I defeated Tara Stone!" The boos increased in volume as Melina laughed hysterically. "Once again, I remain your Women's Champion! Once again, I proved why I am simply better than every one of your heroes!"

"And now there is no one in my way..." A wide smile stretched across the Latina's face. "Now no one can stop me from repeating history!"

"I'm six weeks away from walking into WrestleMania, CHAMPION, for the second time in a row!" Melina exclaimed as the large arena filled with fans broke out into a huge mixed reaction, some applauding, others hating the thought. "And there is nothing YOU, or your weak lil favs can do now!"

"I am the greatest of all time!" the Women's Champion proclaimed, the fans booing intensely at this. "Aren't I just the best?! There is no one on this roster, no one that has ever held this title, that could possibly take this away from me!"

The Latina rolled her eyes with a smug laugh. "Not even the great Trish Stratus could stop me now!"

The Anaheim crowd booed with more intensity at that. Melina didn't care, closing her eyes as she chuckled.

"There is no one on this roster that can beat me now!" Melina exclaimed with a wide, smug smile. "Who could hope to defeat me, after I've beaten your crown princess three times over already?! I'm unbeatable!"

Melina shrugged, uncaring as the fans continued to boo her. A stern frown appeared on her face as she stared into the hard camera. "I said that I would be Women's Champion for a long, LONG time."

Melina slipped the women's title off her shoulder's, holding it up in the air with one hand, a resolute fire in her eyes.

"There is simple no competition left in this pathetic excuse of a division!"

The fans booed in denial as Melina looked down on them, with that look of certainty that no one could defeat her, a large smug smirk slipping onto her face.

That smug smile almost instantly dropped from her face, the crowd popping as the familiar riffs of "Headstrong" blasted throughout the arena.

"OH BOY!" King exclaimed.

"YES!" Jenna cheered, Melina looking up at the stage, lowering her arm with an annoyed snarl.

"Now this is ballsy!" JR exclaimed as Sheree slowly walked out onto the stage, a grin on her lips as she stared a hole through the current Women's Champion. Sheree paused on the stage, staring down at the Latina, who was glaring at her from inside the ring. "The #1 Contender for the WWE Women's Championship!"

Sheree looked out into the crowd with a smile, before calmly walking down the ramp, the Latina in the ring glaring daggers at the brunette.

"I've been waiting for this confrontation since last night!" Jenna cried out in excitement as Sheree entered the ringside area, pausing at the foot of the area to stare at the woman in the ring, her smirk widening.

"The woman who with sheer determination and will to be the best, has blitzed through the two most dangerous, ruthless and dominant women to ever hold the Women's Championship with all the ferocity of a thunder storm! The woman that WILL face Melina for the title at WrestleMania, Sheree Louise!" JR announced as Sheree, her confident smile never leaving her face, walked up the steel steps, her blue eyes locked onto the champion the entire time. "The lengths that woman went to, just to defeat Victoria and retain her right to face Melina at WrestleMania... there is more that meets the eye when it comes to Sheree."

"I agree," King said as Sheree walked along the apron and paused for a moment, looking into the crowd as Melina glared at her. "She showcased an entirely new depth to her personality, and one hell of a dangerous mean streak. I don't think Victoria will be messing with her for awhile. Melina better be smart with how she goes about handling this one."

Sheree entered the ring, almost immediately getting in Melina's face, smirking at the Latin-American champion, who's snarl intensified dangerously into a scowl, the Women's Title resting on her shoulders, the WrestleMania sign looming above them.

"Whoa! This could blow up in a hurry!" Jenna exclaimed, the fans cheering at the sight.

"Easy Sheree!" King cried out nervously.

"Challenger and champion! Eye-to-eye in the middle of the ring!" JR exclaimed.

Sheree's smile widened before slipping past Melina and walking towards the corner ropes opposite the timekeepers area, the black-haired Latina watching with clear disgust and annoyance as the Headstrong Diva stepped up onto the middle ropes, holding her arms out wide to a huge reaction that had Melina looking around at the audience with a raised eyebrow, her annoyance and disgust increasing.

"Wow!" King gasped stunned by the reception Sheree received. "What an ovation for this young woman! I'm surprised."

"You're not the only one," Jenna added, catching sight of the annoyed look on Melina's face. "Melina didn't expect any of this!"

Sheree surveyed the crowd with a smile before stepping off the middle ropes. She turned, and slowly walked around Melina as the iconic riffs of Trapt faded into silence, making way for the huge raw reaction from the large Monday Night crowd.

"Sheree Louise and the WWE Women's Champion Melina! The first time these two have ever crossed paths, barring of course, the night Sheree announced her desire to compete for the Women's Title at WrestleMania!" JR said.

A loud chant of 'Sheree! Sheree! Sheree!' resounded throughout the arena as Sheree came to a stop in front of Melina, staring down the champion with that ever-present confident smirk on her face.

Melina's eyebrow twitched, her annoyance increasing as she looked out into the chanting crowd, before turning her attention back onto the smiling Boston brunette, glowering into her blue eyes.

Melina scowled, lifting the microphone to her lips. "Who the hell-"

The Anaheim crowd cheered loudly in shock as Sheree snatched the microphone from Melina's hands.

"Oh my goodness!" King exclaimed as Melina's eyes widened in shock and unbelievable anger, snarling at Sheree who's smile widened dangerously at the look on Melina's face.

"Oh boy..." Jenna chuckled in amusement.

"I guess Sheree has heard enough from Melina," JR added as Sheree brought the microphone to her lips.

"That's quite enough of that. You've flapped your gums for long enough!" the Boston brunette quipped, the fans cheering in agreement at this. Melina mumbled obscenities in Spanish under her breath, snarling at the woman stood in front of her.

"You don't have to ask who I am," Sheree continued, pointing briefly at the Latina. "Cuz either way you're gonna find out eventually."

The brunette smirked. "All you need to know, is that I'm gonna kick your ass at WrestleMania!"

The crowd cheered even louder whilst Melina growled. Sheree opened her mouth to continue, and then frowned as the microphone was snatched from her hands, the fans booing instantly.

"Oh no..." King gulped.

Melina turned away from Sheree for a moment, rubbing her forehead as a migraine began to form, mindful of her stitches. Sheree watched with amusement as the Women's Champion turned her attention back onto her, pacing the ring with irritation, glaring at the Bostonian brunette.

"You're gonna kick my ass huh?" Melina snarled.

Sheree's smile widened slightly as Melina glared at her.

"... Ha... Haha... Hahahahahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Sheree frowned, the fans booing as Melina broke into hysterical laughter, clutching her sides.

"HAHAHAHA! YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!" the Latina exclaimed, her face starting to turn red from laughing so much, a hand on her face as she stared at Sheree with slightly crazed wide eyes. "YOU?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Sheree's face dropped into a flat stare as Melina began to calm down, a dark smug smile on the champion's face. "Don't be ridiculous! You couldn't possibly beat me!"

"What makes you think a snot-nosed lil brat like you could ever hope to do what Jamie couldn't! What that Goth Queen failed to do three times over huh!"

Melina's smile dropped into a dark scowl. "You are A PATHETIC FOOL!"

"How dare you come out here and spout off with a load of crap!" the Latin-American spat. "How dare you think you even belong in the same ring as me! YOU DON'T EVEN BELONG ON THE GRAND STAGE OF WRESTLEMANIA!"

"WRESTLEMANIA BELONGS TO BONIFIED GREATNESS LIKE ME!" Melina snapped, her eyes wild and ferocious as she looked Sheree up and down. "Not some no-name bimbo!"

Sheree tilted her head, the emotionless mask on her face not dropping for a second as Melina's smirk widened with barely restrained insanity. Sheree's sudden appearance had ticked her off more than she'd like to admit.

"I really shouldn't be surprised. You are just like all the rest," Melina crooned. "A fake, talentless hack, looking for her 15 minutes of fame! Another nameless WHORE!"

Sheree's blue eyes darkened in rage as the fans released a giant 'OHHH!' at Melina's words, however a small smirk tugged at the woman's lips despite her anger.

"I'm sorry! A nameless what?!" Jenna snarled.

"Come on... that was uncalled for!" JR groaned. "Disgusting."

"That mouthy lil bitch!" Jenna raged.

"E-Easy Jenna!" King exclaimed, stunned by the woman's anger.

"Here I was, thinking I'd actually get a challenge this time around but nooooo!" Melina shook her head, disgusted. "Once again, for the second time in a row, I find myself having to defend my title at WrestleMania against another worthless piece of trash like you!"

Melina stepped closer until she was an inch away from the icy blue rage-filled eyes of Sheree Louise. "YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE!"

Melina backed away a bit, seemingly calming down. "So do everyone a favour... turn around, get out of my ring, and never show your face to me again! I am on a whole other lev-"

The loud crowd popped as Sheree yet again snatched the microphone away from Melina, making the Latina freeze, her eyes wide.

"Again?!" King exclaimed in shock as a tight smile tugged at Sheree's lips, her eyes dark with clear rage. "Oh boy look at the look in Sheree's eyes!"

"I don't blame you for being confident," Sheree stated calmly. "You've certainly earned the right to be... but Melina..."

"Do not mistake me for one of those upstart models looking for her 15 minutes of fame," the brunette growled in a stern calmness that chilled Melina to her core. "There are no Lumberjills this time around."

The brunette suddenly smiled mockingly. "There are no cover-girls for you to be jealous of simply because no one wants to see your ass on the cover of Playboy magazine!"

Melina bristled, her eyes wide with rage as the fans released an 'Ohhh!' and cheered at that.

"Good grief..." JR mumbled in amusement.

"Don't cheer that!" Melina spat off-mic, glowering at the crowd.

"It's just me, you, and that," Sheree stated, pointing at the Women's Title around Melina's shoulders. Melina looked down at it briefly, before glowering at Sheree. "Cuz that championship, is the most important thing in this division."

Melina was suddenly overcome with furious rage as Sheree suddenly got in her face, the fans buzzing loudly with anticipation as the tension suddenly rose.

Sheree glared deep into Melina's eyes, her own rage starting to show on her face.

"I am going to take your title!" the Bostonian growled, full of blazing passion and fire.

Melina snarled as Sheree continued. "I'm gonna beat you at WrestleMania! And there ain't a damn thing you can do about it!"

Sheree pointed at her face and at her blue eyes, making sure she was the only person Melina dared to look at. "This face, these blue eyes of mine, they do not belong to a Playboy cover-girl way out of her league!"

"In six weeks, at the Grand-Daddy of them all, WrestleMania 24, March 30th in Orlando, Florida!" Sheree pointed at the title around Melina's left shoulder as the base in her voice intensified. "It will be the last time you hold that title!"

Sheree's blue eyes lit up with ferocity as Melina scowled, her anger rising, the fans cheering at Sheree's statement.

"Because I am your worst nightmare!"

The crowd cheered even louder at that, watching with baited breath as Sheree glared at Melina, who snarled in absolute fury, a rage-filled scowl slipping onto her lips.

"My worst nightmare huh?"

The large Anaheim crowd released a shocked gasp as in the next moment, Sheree found herself sat on the mat, stunned, and a red stinging hand print visible on her left cheek.

"Oh no!" Jenna exclaimed.

"My goodness what a smack!" JR added.

"Knocked Sheree off her feet!" King cried out.

Melina picked up the microphone that had been flung from Sheree's grasp upon slapping her in the face, laughing as the fans booed viciously.

"You see?!" Melina exclaimed, the fans booing more heatedly as Sheree tried to recover. "DO YOU SEE NOW?!"

"This is why, at WrestleMania, you are gonna bare witness to a complete and utter mis-match!" Melina snapped at the angry crowd, turning her back on Sheree to gloat at the fans, holding the Women's Championship above her head with one hand.

"She is not even worth my time-"

The entire arena exploded as Melina turned around right into a swift boot to the abdomen, the Women's Championship and the microphone flying out of her hands as Sheree, pulsating with fury, wrapped her arm around the caught off-guard champion's neck.

"WAIT A MINUTE!" King cried out, the fans crying out and screaming.

"OH MY GOD!" Jenna added.

"SHEREE'S GOT MELINA!" JR exclaimed. The fans exclaimed in awed shock as Sheree lifted Melina off the canvas and into the air. "SHEREE'S GOT MELINA!"

The entire arena was thunderous as Sheree sat out, planting Melina face-first into the canvas between her legs with a devastating Snapshot, completely laying out the champion to the complete shock of everyone. "SNAPSHOT! SHEREE JUST HIT THE SNAPSHOT ON THE CHAMPION!"

"OH MY GOSH!" Jenna cried out in complete and utter shock.

"WHAT IN THE WORLD JUST HAPPENED!" King shrieked as Sheree instantly shot to her feet, releasing a loud and passionate roar as "Headstrong" played throughout the arena to a monstrous response, the entire crowd in awe as Sheree stepped up onto the middle ropes of the corner opposite the announce table, yelling out to the crowd as they cheered her on. "Wha... I..."

Replays was shown of Melina viciously slapping Sheree in the face, knocking the brunette off her feet.

"There's that slap!" JR said, still stunned. "And Melina thought that was it, but I bet she didn't see this coming!"

"Not one bit!" Jenna exclaimed as the replays showed Melina turning around into an angry boot to her abdomen, before being wasted by Sheree's Snapshot. "She ran her mouth, put her hands on my sister, and got her ass hit with the Snapshot for it! That's what she gets!"

"Oh man!" King gulped, excitement pulsing through him as Sheree stood over Melina, glowering down at the woman through dark, poison-eyed blue eyes. Melina's WWE Women's Championship hung from her fingers, before the Headstrong Diva wordlessly dropped the title on top of the Latina's seemingly unconscious body. "This is gonna be one heck of a fight at WrestleMania! I can't wait!"

Sheree's eyes were wide with ferocious furious intensity, a killer look to them as she glowered down at Melina. The Bostonian crouched down, balancing on the balls of her feet.

"Count your days," the Headstrong Diva snarled. "Count your days, cuz I don't care if I have to rip through you! THAT is MINE!"

"Melina said there was no competition left in the Divas Division," JR noted as Sheree rose up and finally stepped away from the champion, smirking at the crowd as her theme continued to play in the background. "Said that there was no one in the Divas Division that could defeat her!"

"And I think Sheree just proved her wrong!" King exclaimed. "Wow! Just wow!"

Sheree left the ring, fixing her jacket before sauntering up the ramp. Not once did she ever look back, even as Melina began to come too, glaring at the Bostonian's back in absolute fury, gripping her title as she tried to pick herself up off the mat.

"And in one massive Snapshot," JR yelled out.

"Sheree Louise has just made one heck of a bold statement at the champion's expense!"

And that is the second part of this double chapter! I hope you all enjoyed this! WE are officially on the way to WRESTLEMANIA 24! And a LOT is happening! But until then...
