Luz was climbing up the pile of contraband in the prison, looking for the crown, when she noticed something.
"What's this?" Luz asked, picking it up, "It looks like some kind of ring?"
She looked at the ring for a bit, seeing it to be silver and blue, with a weird symbol on it. Luz decided to pocket it and go back to finding the crown... she found it.
"Wait, is that?"
A couple minutes later, she walked out, holding the cardboard crown.
"My crown!" King shouted, running and taking the crown. "Yes! I can feel my power returning!"
"That crown doesn't have any power in it, does it?" Luz asked Eda, watching King pick up a new stuffed bunny.
"No but look at him, look at how happy he is to have that back." Eda said, smiling at King. "You know we don't have much in this world but seeing him happy with that thing, how could I not be happy for him? Heck, seeing him happy makes even more hopeful for the future."
"Hopeful, huh?" Luz asked.
"Yeah, hopeful that there will be others like us." Eda said.
"Like you?"
"Yeah, weirdos." Eda said, "Those that don't fit in. Us weirdos have to stick together. Now, let's get out of here before the warden catches us and loses his head."
"Too late." A voice said.
Eda jolted before a blade CUT through her neck, making her head fall off and into Luz's arms!
"Aaaaaah!" Luz screamed in horror!
"Ow! Oh I hate when that happens." Eda said, making Luz scream again.
"Eda! How are you alive?!" Luz screamed!
"Relax, kid. This just happens to certain people here when you get old." Eda said with a bland face.
"Will it happen to me?" Luz asked in worry.
"Eh, maybe."
"Hehehehehe, I knew taking you little pet's crown would bring you right to me." Wrath said, taking the crown from King.
"Weh?!" He said in shock! "Give it back!"
He crushed it.
"NO! My crown of power!" King said, crying as he stumbled back to Luz and Eda.
Luz got very nervous.
"What do you want anyway?! I haven't broken any of your dumb laws…that you know of!" Eda shouted.
"What I want from you is simple." Wrath said, going down to a knee and reaching behind his back. "What I want…is a date with you."
He pulled out a bouquet of flowers, offering them to Eda as Luz, Eda, and King looked VERY confused.
'What the hell?' Luz thought, 'That's a bit hopeful.'
"Go boss!/You can do it!" The guards with Wrath said.
"Edalyn Clawthorne, you have always eluded my traps and always managed to stay one step ahead. I find that VERY admirable in a woman." Wrath said to her.
"Um, not that I don't like a good confession but aren't you being too hopeful?" Luz asked him.
"You wouldn't understand child, you can never be TOO hopeful in this world. So what do you say, Edalyn? In exchange for your freedom and the safety of these children, will you go on a date with me?" Wrath said.
"Uh... I'd rather die." Eda said.
'EDA?!' Luz thought in shock, looking down at her.
"Then you can all die in the deepest hole of the prison!" Wrath shouted, throwing the flowers away in anger.
His arm changed to an axe and he slammed it down, with the gang barely managed to dodge. Luz fell on her back and the ring fell out of her pocket. She grabbed it and decided to put it on her finger, just before Eda's body grabbed her and her own head and getting on the staff.
"Get moving, Owlbert!" Eda shouted to her staff!
They flew through the place, with Luz noticing the cells.
"Eda, lend me a hand!"
"Sure!" Eda said, literally lending Luz a hand. "Why exactly?"
"This!" Luz said as she flipped all of the levers to release the unjustly imprisoned people.
They flew out of the doors and into the sky... unfortunately, Wrath wasn't far behind and knocked the staff out from under them.
"UGH!" the group grunted, crashing and rolling against the ground.
"Luz, take the portal and return to the human realm."
Eda gave Luz the key and her staff.
"What? I can't just leave you here." Luz said.
"Don't worry, it'll take more than Wrath to beat me." Eda said, slapping the butt of the staff.
Eda and King ran back to Wrath, in order to give Luz a chance to escape. Luz barely hung on, when she saw the criminals she freed.
"What are you guys doing this is your chance to escape?"
"What's the point, the Warden will catch us, he always does." The eye eating prisoner said.
"We belong here." Katya said.
"Self doubt is a prwison you can never escape fwrom." Tiny nose said.
"So you have a different way of seeing thing, of doing things, that might make you weird, but it also makes you awesome!" Luz said, "You shouldn't have to worry about being yourself, you shouldn't have to be afraid to live your lives, you should be allowed to be who you want to be. I can help you get your freedom, if you will let me."
The prisoners looked at Luz, confused as to why she's helping them, but... giving them hope. In Luz's pocket, the ring began to glow blue. The more hope Luz gave, the brighter it shine, before it couldn't glow anymore and flew out of her pocket and onto her finger, scaring Luz a bit. That's when the ring spoke to her. With Eda and King, they were on the losing end of this fight.
"Well, Owl Lady, it would seem that we have come to the end of this moment." Wrath said, morphing his hand into a hammer, "It would seem that you're all out of hope."
Wrath raised his hammer hand and was about to slam it on them, when he was blasted by a blue beam of energy.
"That's where you're wrong Wrath."
Eda and King looked up, seeing Luz... wearing a black and blue outfit, with a blue glow around her, with the ring glowing, and most importantly... she was flying. Wrath growled as he picked himself up and looked at Luz. He opened his mouth and blew fire at her, to which Luz just put the ring out and made a blue shield around herself that stopped the fire.
"They aren't out of hope." Luz said, floating to the ground, "The ring has told me the truth about hope... In fearful day, in raging night, with strong heart full, our souls ignite, when all lost in the war of light... look to the stars..."
Luz pointed her ring at him, it glowing, ready for the fight.
"... For hope shines bright!"
