Chapter 3: A Final End, A New Start

Kazuma and Chris were running to the mansion at fast speeds. It didn't take long for the two of them to arrive at their destination. When they arrived and took a breather, Kazuma opened the door, only to be greeted by their(Megumin's) Pet cat Chommuseke.

"Oh hey there lil' fella. Nice to meet ya." Kazuma went down and pet the cat, the latter purring in response to the touch.

"Awww, what a cute cat~." Chris saw the adorable feline being petted and purring. She too wanted in the fun and nudged beside Kazuma to pet it as well.

But as she went to pet it, she didn't get the response she was looking for. As her hand went to the felines head, she immediately went into fight or flight mode and started hissing and scratching towards her.

"What the hell?! Why do you not like me?" Chris backed away in shock as she saw how aggressive the cat had become.

"Woah calm down now buddy, she's a friend, not a threat. Okay?" Kazuma went and grabbed the cat while petting it to calm her down. It worked, but her head was moving to the other direction in disapproval.

"Sorry about that. Usually, she's pretty good with a lot of people. the only one she's ever went nuts at was Aqua." Kazuma ended the patting session and let her go to roam some place else.

"Well, whatever. Try and keep that cat in check. I'm starting to feel some kind of dark energy coming from her..." Chris cautiously watched as the cat went and slept on the couch.

"Oh come on. She's not evil or anything." Kazuma chuckled a bit at Chris's weird cautiousness around Chommuseke.

"Yeah, and when she's scratching at your face at the middle night, don't come running at me for help." Chris crossed her arms while closing her eyes and walked away.

"Jeez, she's a friendly cat y'know. You just haven't spent time with her yet." Kazuma walked with Chris as well but she was just gave a simple 'hmph!' at his direction. Kazuma gave up on reasoning and focused on the task at hand.

"My room is just upstairs, I'll pack quick and we'll be out of here no times flat." Kazuma walked upstairs and power walked in the hallways to his bedroom.

He opened the door and saw his room, still the same. The bed was made well with the sheets tucked in and the pillows all neatly placed. The flloor was spotless with no sign of dust bunnies collection.

While Kazuma was a neet and arguably still is, he had a sense of discipline when it came to cleanliness. He always made his bed, swept his floor, and ket his hygiene.

"Wow, I'm kinda surprised. I didn't know you had some self respect." Chris saw how clean his room was.

"Yeah whatever, its the only pride i have left of myself." Kazuma brushed it off and went to his wardrobe and took out his clothes, which were all identical except for his pajamas and tracksuit.

"Man, you never change your style?" Chris picked up his classic whit shirt and asked him.

"Eh, I kinda like the style and don't like changing it. I usually wore the same clothes back at home." Kazuma answered as he folded his clothes neatly and out the inside a bag.

"Don't you want to experiment or anything?" Chris asked again as she wanted to see her friend in something other that white and green.

"Maybe some time, just not now." He answered as he put the last clothes which were his tracksuit inside his bag.

"Welp, I think that's all. I'll just leave my bedroom as it is." He said as he looked around the room to see if there's still some stuff that he wanted to bring.

"Well, I'll be in the living-" She spoke where she would wait but stopped midway when she remembered who was sleeping in the living room. "- Actually, I'll wait outside. Be quick alright!" She walked out of the room and waited in the front lawn.

"You know, as much as I hate living in this town and with those girls, I'm gonna miss this place." He walked to his door and looked back at the room in nostalgia, reminiscing at the things that happened in it. He looked back at his door and went out of the room.

He walked on the wooden floor in the hallways, looking at the walls of the mansion, and occasionally outside to see the night with the half moon shining bright. He felt some type of sadness that he was going to leave this place for good, but he thought to himself that it was all gonna be for the better.

He walked downstairs and went to the living room. As he went past the couch, he saw the peaceful sleeping Chommuseke, purring in her dreams. He smiled at the sight and couldn't hold himself so he started petting her.

"Aww, you're just too adorable. I'm really gonna miss you..." He patted her head in delight, but got sad that he remembered that he wasn't going to see her again.

The cat saw the sad look that her owners friend bestowed. She immediately got up and went up close to his face.

"Listen Chommuseke, be a good girl for me alright? Keep staying cute." Kazuma said teary eyed, the cat looked really confused.

"Holy crap, I really love this cat don't I? Oh how far have I changed..." Kazuma thought in his head as he saw the cat now rubbing her head in his palm.

When he was on earth, he never understood why people loved pets. He always saw owners laughing, crying, scolding at their pets all the time. Even in video games he saw people caring for pets!

But now, now he fully understood why. They were companions. Ones that will always be there for you. Ones that will be loyal to you, even if they don't show it. Ones that will cheer you up when you need. He realizes it now as he questioned himself as to why he cared for this adorable cat

"I'm gonna fucking miss you so god damn much!" He stopped what he was doing and picked her up and hugged her. He swung her around, the cat was confused at first but just accepted it anyways.

He frolicked, spinning around with Chommuseke in his arms. He had tears of both happiness and sadness. Happy that he realizes the importance of pets and companions, but sad at the fact that he realized it too late.

Chris heard some foot stomping and a few sobs coming from. She got curious as to what the hell Kazuma is doing, so she opened the front doors to investigate. She saw the man dancing around, teary eyed, with a cat in his arms. She didn't know what to make of the situation. She remembered earlier that Kazuma had gave her a scare. She saw this golden opportunity and decided to give the boy a little payback.

She quietly snuck inside, seeing the boy still preoccupied with the cat. She saw her chance and jumped on him.

"Hey Kazuma!~"

"haaaa~- HOLY SHIT!" Kazuma was in a trance until he heard Chris's voice speak up to him. He immediately jumped and looked at her in fear.

"Jesus Christ Chris! I nearly had a heart attack because of you!" Kazuma shouted at her in anger as he got exposed to a side he didn't want anyone to know.

"Hey, watch your language now. It was just a joke okay~ a little payback to what you did earlier." Chris reminded him of what happened earlier, Kazuma now understanding the joke. He grumbled as he saw the shit-eating grin Chris was giving him.

"Yeah yeah whatever. At least you got me to get out of my trance." Kazuma played it off with gritted teeth. Realizing what he did a minute ago, he was just spinning around with a cat in his hand.

"Well, your welcome, I guess. Seriously, what were you doing back there? spinning around with that demon, tears in your eyes..."

"Listen alright, it was a special moment between me and Chommuseke, so don't try and ruin that for me okay! Also, she's not a demon, she's a cat." Kazuma exclaimed that he was emotionally attached to the feline and didn't want to hear otherwise.

"Whatever, just get your bags already and we'll be out of here in no time." Chris brushed it off and went outside to wait again.

Kazuma let's go of the cat and grabbed his bag which contained all of his stuff. He crouched down and petted her once more.

"I'm gonna miss you, be safe alright."

He got up and marched to the door. He looked back at the living room one last time. Remembering all the shenanigans that took place here, the times where Aqua would complain to him, or when he was playing chess with Darkness, or when he was nagging to Megumin about spells, truth be told, he was gonna miss it. He saw Chommuseke one last time and looked back at the door, opening it, and walked out.

He closed the door behind him and saw Chris waiting for him. "You done?" She asked him.

"Yeah, Let's go." He answered, with his eyes filled with newfound hope.

Back in the guild hall, things were relatively going on like they usually were. Drinking, eating, chatting, all were the same. Though a particular thing with chatting, the chats that all the people were having had one singular topic, it was about Kazuma.

"Hey, did you here that Kazuma had left his party?" A man had conversed with his fellow teammate. The news spread like wildlife as Kazuma's party was pretty infamous in Axel, so hearing that he left his own party was shocking to them.

"Yeah. Honestly, I think it's good that he left them. Good for his previous party. He was really creeping me out y'know." He replied back. Kazuma and his previous party didn't realize this at the time, but their fight had actually caused a scene and were pulling in viewers that sat on the table or were walking by. So that's how the news came to be.

"Finally! That sad sack was really getting on my nerves with how badly he treated his party, especially that blue one." A girl expressed her discomfort around Kazuma to her partymates.

"Totally agree. I don't even know how those girls haven't even left him in the dust. He even had the audacity to leave them instead of them leaving him." Her comrade agreed and ranted about why they didn't part ways.

"Heh, I hope no one joins his new solo party. He would finally get what he deserves after what he did in this town." Another one of her teammates popped up and wished for the boy for punishment.

"I hope he slips and gets mud all over him. After all, he is a 'dirty' minded brat right?" A fourth girl jumped into the conversation and comes up with a lame joke, to which the entire group all laughed at it, rocking the table and cheers to their mugs.

Over to a bar, we have two men idly talking to each other about the infamous boy who left Axel. "Say, don't you think it's bad that the boy is gone?" He asked his fellow companion.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean, even if the guy is a bit of a lunatic sometimes, he did come up with plans that saved our asses."

"Well, yeah, but like, are you really forgetting that this man has terrorize many women?"

"It's disgusting, but I'd rather have this man that can save us. Even if he's a pervert."

Overall, the entire guild was buzzing with noise and talk about Kazuma. Opinions ranged from remorse, anger, happiness, and neutrality. But there was one group, the only group which contained one emotion, sadness. That group was none other than Kazuma's previous party.

"That neet... that damn neet... That absolute ungrateful HIKINEET!" Aqua gradually raised her anger to the point of shouting due to her frustrations. "If I ever see him again, I'm gonna make him meet Eris so many times! gaaah!"

"Aqua... Please, calm down..." Darkness tried to calm her friend.

"Calm down?! Why would I calm down if that damn NEET left me in the dust?!" Aqua grabbed her hair in frustration and looked down at the ground, unable to look at her friends.

"Why? Why did you leave me Kazuma? We were supposed to defeat the demon king together, we were supposed to be... friends..." Aqua whispered to herself in tears at the thought of her friend finally leaving them.

"Were we friends though?" Aqua thought in her head. While she did have her moments with him, wether that be bugging him about money, crying for fear, flaunting her status, healing him of his injuries, she had the idea that she was friends with him.

But did he have the same thoughts though? She condition herself as his friend, but she never thought about what he thinks. Maybe he was just tolerating her for a while. She remembered what Kazuma said just moments ago. The words of hatefulness. The words of hatefulness that were directed at her.

"Your the cause of our problems from the very beginning."

"Was he right?" No, that can't be. Those were just accusations that Kazuma made to her just to spite her. Right?"Am, I, right"

Yes, you are! He was just lying to himself. liar. He's a liar. A neet is always a liar.

Her mind was in deep with her inner thoughts running around in her head.

"You think I care about you? Let me tell you Aqua, I don't. I just don't."

"Does he not care about me?" No! No he doesn't. Didn't you remember? He's a liar. He was to shy to say that he cares about you. "Then why did he leave me?" Because he's a neet. A lying little neet. You said it yourself didn't you?

She was now lost in her mind. Blocking any type of noise from reality and only listening to her voice and her inner voice.

"I hate you."

You hate me? listen to yourself, who are you actually hating? Is it me? Is it Kazuma?

"You! I hate your voice. I hate your words. I hate your ideas. I hate your hair. I hate your attitude. I hate your face. I hate your eyes. I hate you!"

I'll ask you again, who do you really hate?

"...I hate myself..." Aqua whispered to herself quietly, her eyes aren't flowing down with tears anymore, but are dry from her cold and dead eyes.

We move over and see the quiet Darkness, silently crying herself in sadness as her friend and potential lover was now gone.

"Kazuma... oh, Kazuma..."

"I don't understand, why did you have to leave so soon." She asked this question, Again and again. Not knowing the fact that it was already answered. No, she does know. She just doesn't want to accept it.

"I wish I could've told you sooner." She wanted to confess to him. Confess that she loves him. But it was too late. She was too prideful in her mind to change. Too selfish to think about others, to think about him. She could've prevented this, but she was too late.

"Why? Why am so prideful?"She whispered, Not knowing why this pride was so ingrained in her system, to the point of not even changing her ways.

"Change, why am I so prideful to not change?"

"Why? Why do I lie to myself?" She whispered again, not knowing why she even calls herself a crusader. What kind of crusader charges head first into battle, endangering those she's trying to protect. "Protect, why do I lie to myself with protect?"

"Why? Why was I too late?" She whispered once more, not knowing why she didn't confess to him. She had all the chances in the world to tell him, but was too cowardly to even begin forming words.

"Confess, why am I always late to confess?"

"...I hate myself..." Darkness said just quietly enough to not let the girls hear what she had just said.

We move over to the final girl in the party, Megumin. She was sobbing with her head down on the table, not showing the world her sensitive face.

"Kazuma... Kazuma..." She said in between sobs, hiccuping in the process. She couldn't understand how this situation became a reality. Everything was going fine a moment ago, why did it all go to shit? Why did Kazuma leave? Where did it all happe-

"Oh right" She remembered something "I killed him earlier."

She remembered the incident that happened hours ago. Her heart grew cold, her mind diving deeper.

"no matter how many times I say for her to use advanced spells. She. Never. Listens."

"You understand right Kazuma? I thought all that explosion trips made you understand me. I thought that we had... something." She thought in her head.

"Am I too prideful?"

"You think, that I forgot that I died today. Why? It's, because, of, you."

"Please understand Kazuma, i was just mad that time, i was trying too... mess around y'know? I was... I was..." She thought in her head once more.

"Am I a murderer?"

"Maybe I am too prideful. I couldn't listen and do simple tasks like learning more spells. Too prideful, to change, for the better."

"I am a murderer. I killed him. I killed my crush. I killed my friend. There's no argument that I'm 'not' a murderer. There's no excuses. It's all my fault. He left because I killed him. I killed him today, and i got away with it. I..."

"...I hate myself..." She said, her voice cold as ice. Her eyes now dead, and her mind now broken.

Cold. That was the tempature which surrounded the table of our well known party. It was so cold that the ale which they had ordered started forming thin sheets of ice on the top. Maybe it was because of Aqua's emotions having an effect. She was a goddess after all so these types of quirks aren't that surprising, to her at least.

Darkness, being the most mentally stable there, started to break the ice that was forming in there table.

"So... What do we do now?..." She said in a low tone.

Silence. That was all she got for a minute. It's sounds rude, but for Darkness, she understood why and forgave them for it. It's not like she wasn't in the same boat as them. But eventually, she did get an answer from the blue and broken goddess.

"We could... choose a new leader first." Her tone being icy cold. Darkness could even feel the cold breath she was emitting. kinda of like an a/c.

"But how will we decide?"

"Well, we could put a voting system. Or we could... we could... Honestly, we need to talk about tomorrow. I'm done for tonight..." Aqua was giving out her idea in monotone but quickly deflated as her mental capacity was drained out. She just wanted to eat, go home and sleep.

"Yeah, me too..." Darkness agreed as she too didn't want to discuss any further as she too was also mentally drained. "Maybe we should eat first. We still have food on this table. It'd be a waste if we just go home right now." She saw the now cold food sitting right in front of them.

"Yeah, we should." Aqua agreed. She took the fried toad leg and looked at it, emotionlessly. She then took a bit at it.

Darkness did the same too. She took a bit of her food, "Cold" She thought. She then looked at Megumin, who was still laying motionless after all this time. "Hey Megumin, you should start eating now."

"No." Megumin spoke, not lifting her head up.

"Um, do you not mind me eating it? it'll be a waste if it isn't eaten." Darkness was a bit concerned as to why here friend wasn't speaking in her usual ways, but understood why.

"No."

"Alright then..." She was also a bit afraid because of the sheer coldness Megumin spoke. She could understand if it was hiccups or inaudible noise as an answer. But that? She was scared.

She took Megumin plate of food and dumped it on her own plate. Making the plate overflow with over-portioned food.

The two are in silence as they both didn't have the mental capacity to try and make small talk. They both were mentally drained and just wanted to go home. And so, time passed by with Aqua having finished her food early. Since her plate had less food than Darkness adding the extra food from Megumin.

She soon finished too and the all agreed to get home as fast as possible. Not before paying the very concerned Luna however.

"Are you guys alright? Is everything okay? I heard th gossip that's been going arou-" Luna was asking in a concerned manner for her unspoken favorite party, but was cut off from Darkness.

"Luna, please stop. We just, want to get home." Darkness said.

"Oh, um, alright, then. You know, you don't have to pay. It's on the house."

"What? listen, I know what happ-" Darkness tried to argue but was this time cut off from Luna instead.

"Darkness, it's fine. You all can go home now." Luna said In an understanding voice.

"I... Thank you, Luna." Darkness said her thanks and waved goodbye at her, her also doing the same. She went back to her party which were sitting at table they were eating at.

"Alright guys, let's go home."

"Come on Megumin, let's go." Aqua Shook Megumin a bit. Megumin slowly got up, not letting her face up and constantly looking at the ground. Aqua got up as well and the three all walked out of the guild, now heading home with the three people instead of four.

Kazuma and Chris were standing in the front lawn of the mansion, Kazuma waiting for the next plan of action.

"Alright, since it's night time now and the horse carriage rentals are closed, we have to run to our new place." Chris explained as she got out her bag in search of something. "Here, these are stamina potions. With these, we'll have plenty of energy to run there before midnight." She got out two bottles of stamina potions for him.

"Yeah, I have a question, where are we actually going?" Kazuma asked as he took the bottles Chris was handing out.

"Well, there's a town nearby called Maine. It's an intermediate level town, most adventures here that leveled up high move there. Maybe because it's the closest town here." Chris explained where they were headed to and why.

"Wait, Intermediate?" Kazuma knew the reason why he stuck to Axel for long was because it was a beginner town. So stepping up to fight harder monsters was frightening, especially since he was an adventurer.

"I know how you feel, but trust me, you'll be fine. With me, your not getting a single scratch on your body." Chris winked at him.

"I don't know, it just seals the deal when I see you wink after you said that." Kazuma deadpanned

"Oh come one! It's not that bad! Just, drink the potion already. We're leaving." Chris pouted and shouted at him. He did concede and drank the bottle. Feeling the energy in his body already flowing.

"Just follow my lead. We'll get there in no time." Chris also drank the bottle as well. "It's behind the mansion and straight from there." She then ran behind the mansion, with Kazuma following suit.

They ran. They ran and ran. The night was cold and the air that passed them breeze through their body, cooling it down from the heat of running. Running in the night was kinda fun, thought Kazuma. He never really ran or jogged before, but running while the air is cold and quiet, especially with the moon shining just enough to see where you were going, really brighten the mood for him.

"Hey Chris! Maybe we should run some more like this! It's kinda fun." He shouted, as Chris was significantly farther away than him.

"What? You found a new hobby now?" She looked back and asked him a question, with her usual smug grin.

"Heh, I guess so!" He chuckled as they both ran for kilometers on end, slowly getting closer to their destination. It took them roughly 2 hours to get there, but it was sure fun for the two of them. They stopped running as soon as they saw the gates to Maine.

"Welp, looks like we're here." Chris took a breather and brought the news to Kazuma, who was panting a lot more than her. Indicating the fact of someone more healthier and active than the other.

"Yeah... Oh man... That, was tiring..." Kazuma said in between breathes as he was exhausted even after taking the stamina potions. Running 7 kilometers straight with no breaks was no easy tasks. (A/N: Trust me, it was exhausting. I've done it myself. It was fun!)

"Anyways, why don't you get your ass up and head there." Chris jokingly said to him to hurry up.

"Easy for you to say *Pant*." He came back, annoyed. "Oh Jesus, I need a break."

"Hey!" Chris kicked him in the bottom, knocking him over, his face flat on the ground. "Watch your mouth will you!"

"Ahhh!" He fell face flat. "What the hell was that for!" He yelled in anger.

"Nothing." Chris ignored him, walking away towards the town's gates.

"Grr, I'll get you next time. Just wait." Kazuma grumbled, already planning on ways to humiliate his friend. He got up and ran to Catch up on her. They both walked idly towards the town, awaiting were two guards. Stationed here to protect and questions those who enter.

The two guards saw them walking towards the gate, and decided to stop them to ask some questions. "Stop right there, who are you two?"

"We're both from Axel and want to move in here." Chris stepped forward and held her hand out to Kazuma, letting him know that she's gonna be the one talking. Not like he wanted to anyway.

"Axel huh? Are you adventures?"

"Yup!" Chris got out her Adventures card, she motioned Kazuma to do the same. He got it out as well. The guard took bot of their cards and inspected them.

"A thief and an adventurer. With the thief having no criminal backgrounds. Welp, looks good to me." He said and handed the cards back to them. "You're both free to come in."

"Thanks!" Chris thanked him and walked right in, with Kazuma following her. "Phew, good thing those guards were nice."

"What do you mean?" Kazuma asked, confused as to why she said that.

"Well, usually guards don't have a safe spot for thieves. They hate the thief class, they'll try anything to abuse the system and get innocent thieves to jail for some quick cash! Honestly, we're lucky." Chris explained. What she said is indeed true. The most targeted community from the guards are the thieves.

While thievery is still debated on whether or not it should still be a class, the community itself isn't bad and many thieves do the "Steal from the rich, give to the poor" thing. Which, is probably why nobles don't like them one bit and are targeted by guards. All in all, the class will still be recognized as a job. Even if it is targeted.

"Wait really?" Kazuma was shocked, to which Chris nodded sadly. "Damn, it's a good thing I'm not a thief."

"Well, technically, you are a thief. You have all the tricks. It's just that you're an adventurer, so you don't get recognized. Lucky..." Chris explained to him, a bit envious.

"Well, no matter. Let's stay in for the night. Or do you want to go and eat?" Chris brushed it off and asked him if he wanted to crash in bed or eat something.

"Looks like a lot of shops are closing, it's like, 10:00 pm or something. I'll have to eat tomorrow." Kazuma answered as shop's usually close after 8, and since it's so late at night now, many restaurants are closed.

"Oh yeah, guess you're right. Well, at least hotels are open before midnight so let's go find one!" Chris acknowledged his reasoning and enthusiastically said to find some hotels to crash in.

The two walked around the almost empty streets, since it was late at night. Luckily, there were still a few people walking by so Chris decided to ask them where the nearest hotel is. They got some directions and headed there. They soon came across a hotel with medieval architecture for the time, with the walls being mad of concrete and the pillers made of hard wood. The windows were, still windows, and the roof was made with clay tiles.

They entered the establishment and was greeted by a nice looking young man. "Hello there! Would you like to check in?"

"Yes, what's the price for a room?" Chris asked.

"Well, we only have queen sized beds right now. They'll cost you 2000 Eris a night." The man answered.

"Eh, sounds pretty good to me." Kazuma added himself in, giving some opinions on the matter.

"But, we do have a special offer." The man brought up. "You see, we have a special "couples deal"! For couples, the room will only cost 1000 Eris a night." He pitched.

"Wha-What?! Co-co-couples?!" Chris stammered, embarrassed that things were going this way.

"Um, give us a moment please." Kazuma nervously chuckled and scurried off with Chris to a corner.

"Chris, snap out of it." Kazuma shook her a bit, she eventually got to her senses. "Listen, maybe we should fake being a couple and take that deal." He whispered.

"What?! Are you crazy? We are not doing that!" She whispered rage, not agreeing to it.

"But, the deal's good. We're low on money right now, so why not save up a bit. It'll be good for the long run." Kazuma argued.

"But... but...Ugh fine." Chris gave in. "But, no touching. Got it?" Chris gave him a sinister glare, which he nodded very quickly. Honestly, he hadn't seen Chris being mad before, and he didn't want to anytime soon.

The got off from the corner and walked back to the counter. "Yes, we'll take that offer." Kazuma said to hi

"Great! I knew you two were couples! Now then, how long will you two be staying?"

Kazuma looked at Chris to which she answered "1 week."

"Alright, that'll be 7000 eris." He gave the amount that they have to pay and the keys in his hand.

"Here you go." Kazuma grabbed his purse and took out the amount that he had to pay. The clerk gave him the keys afterwards. "Enjoy your stay! Oh, and just to let you know, the walls are thick. See you tomorrow!" The man gave a bit of insight on the infrastructure of the building.

"Oh, uh, thanks." Kazuma gave a reply, while Chris was holding back some vomit in her mouth. they both walked upstairs to their room.

"Listen Kazuma, we are not doing that again." She coldly said, her tone being icy. He nodded in fear.

They opened the door to their room and saw what was inside. It was pretty standard for the price. They had a desk, a chair, the door to the shower, windows with curtains, and of course, the queen sized bed. Wait, queen sized?

"Oh yeah, they only had queen sized. Welp, looks like we're gonna sleep together." Kazuma never seized an opportunity he was given. It was his chance to finally sleep with a girl, and he was not letting it slip one bit.

"Don't try and test your luck, Kazuma." She glared at him, her eyes looked like. It contained the souls of crying demons, begging to escape this inescapable prison, to Kazuma at least.

"But, we don't have any extra blankets to make a bed on the floor." Kazuma tried to reason to the scary Chris to which she replied-

"So? I'm sleeping on the bed." Chris didn't give two shits about it and already called dibs on the bed.

"Hey! You think I'm sleeping on the floor? We are sleeping on the bed, together." He announced like a child that couldn't be taken seriously.

"Ugh, I hate this world." She whispered. "Alright, you can sleep on the bed. But! if dare touch me in anyways, like touching my hand, say hi to Eris for me." She threatened. Kazuma had never seen this side of Chris before, the scary and threatening Chris. Honestly, he kinda found it hot.

"Oh god, what the hell happened to me? Did I get Darkness's quirks or something?" He thought in fear for his newfound attribute.

"Well let's change into some more comfortable clothing." He suggested as sleeping in their gear wouldn't be the most advisable. They both got changed and hopped into bed, with each other facing away for obvious reasons.

"Um, good night Chris." He said, as he was about to turn of the lamp. "Good night." She replied back. He then turned off the lamp, making the room fall into darkness, making it easier to fall asleep.

For Kazuma however, he was wide awake. Behind him was girl, in bed, with him. He tried to think of other things while trying to sleep in peace, but his brain isn't having it. He sighed and contemplated on turning over to face her.

"Should I? I mean, she wouldn't mind, right? Maybe I should wait a bit until I hear snores. Yeah, that's sounds like a good idea."

He did his plan and waited, though he didn't have to wait long as 5 minutes after he could already hear the snores of her sleeping, and it didn't sound fake either. He turned around and saw her. Her body had also turned over but her face was asleep. My god, it was breathtaking. Her steady breathes, her cute little snores, her cute sleeping face. Seeing her cute face sleeping was enough to calm Kazuma down and also fall into slumber.

"Honestly, she's so cute when she's sleeping... I feel like I'm seeing a goddess right in front of my eyes... Goodnight Chris." It wasn't long after that he too fell asleep. He could say that he had one of the best sleep he's ever had thanks to her.

The duo were both sleeping in peace. Resting, until the morning sun came and would awake both of them up. Marking a new day. Marking, a new start.
