Chapter 1-C – Cadets of Concordia
Location: Eartheon, United Dominion of America (UDA), Concordia City
Date: Early May 3026 (Friday)
Concordia… also known as the city of harmony. It resembles a futuristic version of San Francisco, Tokyo and Los Angeles combined and it also has a bridge that resembles the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco but with a Japanese theme making it look like the bridge from San Fransokyo from Big Hero 6. Concordia is one of the many cities in Eartheon where humans and non-humans live and co-exist together in peaceful harmony. Non-humans from aliens straight out of sci-fi to demi-humans and other fantastical beings from straight out of fantasy.
Some would come from other planets while some would come from other dimensions in the multiverse. 99 percent of the newcomers would co-exist peacefully but as for the remaining 1 percent, they'd come and cause trouble for the planet and its' citizens.
That's why we have a number of law enforcements all around Eartheon specializing in subduing these criminals. One of them is Space Patrol Delta (SPD), one of the special breeds of police assigned to bring in other worldly hostiles whether if it's from the vastness of space or from the many fabrics of other dimensions.
Time: 2 PM (UDA Time)
We open to what looks like an abandoned warehouse district and it's here we see some male reptile-like alien with black hair in a mullet style haircut running through the empty streets. It was clad in some punkish looking outfit with a ripped sleeved leather jacket and some spiked armor on his torso and shoulders and not only that, he was carrying what looked like some stolen briefcase that contained some classified information or even a top-secret device.
It seemed like he was running away from something or someone. He stopped for a moment and looked around to see if he lost his pursuers, suddenly, he jolted to his left just in time for a volley of lasers to come flying right at him. The lasers missed but hit areas near the criminal creating small sparks of explosions taking the alien by surprise and the result was him getting sent flying by the force of the explosions and crashing through the doors of an abandoned warehouse and landed on the floor on his stomach while losing his stolen goods.
The alien quickly stood up and went to hide somewhere as his pursuers entered the busted door.
Walking into the abandoned warehouse were three members of SPD composed of two males and one female.
The first male who stood in the middle and the tallest of the three was a young man about 19 years old with very short dirty blonde hair, fair skin, slim build and blue eyes. This is Emmett Thornton, the leader of the trio.
The second male who stood next to Emmett's left was a young teen about 17 years old and a couple inches shorter than Emmett with short brown hair, fair skin, slim build and almond green eyes. This is Caleb Cortez.
Finally, the sole female and the youngest of the trio who stood next to Emmett's right was a young teen about 16 years old about a few inches shorter than Caleb with long shoulder length blonde hair held in a ponytail by a gray scrunchie with two strands of hair framing her face, fair skin, slim build, medium bust and light gray eyes. This was Rebecca "Becky" Ross, the youngest female member of SPD in her year.
All three of them were clad in the standard SPD uniform composed of a zipped-up jacket, a pair of trousers with a belt with Becky having a skirt over her trousers with a belt, a pair of black shoes, black SPD initials on the right sleeve of the jacket, a silver SPD badge on the upper right pectoral area of the jacket, an SPD initial pin on the opposite area and an SPD laser blaster holstered on their right hip. Unlike the A-Squad SPD power rangers, the trio's uniforms were the standard gray, black and brown which all none ranger SPD personnel wear. In addition to his uniform, Caleb wore a pair of black tactical gloves.
Emmett unholstered his laser blaster and held it up with the flashlight pointed forward with his right forearm raised up while he put his left fist in front of his forearm just above his weapon for balance making an L-shaped arm position before cautiously moving forward while he, Caleb and Becky searched around the area for their target.
The standard issue SPD Laser Firearm/Blaster was a futuristic looking firearm weapon that served as a sidearm for all SPD officers and it had a somewhat alien design to it with a dark gray and white grip with a gray trigger, an under-wrist guard that had a flashlight at the bottom with the SPD initials below it and attached to the end of the guard was the part in which releases the lasers when firing.
"Come out, come out wherever you are…!" called out Caleb tauntingly as he, Becky and Emmett continued searching "Heh, not that you can hide anyway…" he said smirking confidently before removing his right glove.
After doing so, he held his right hand to his left before slowly waving it to his right while releasing a green energy aura creating a shimmer in its' wake. The result was seeing a transparent outline of the lizard alien slightly crouching before it quietly crept towards a stack of crates where he was currently hiding.
"Perpet 2 'o clock!" Caleb alerted Becky making her face said direction with her fist raised up… only it wasn't "That's 9 'o clock Becky" he pointed out without even looking.
"Ehehe… right!" nodded Becky giggling sheepishly before turning towards the correct direction. As she approached the stack of crates, she took out an iron ingot about the size of her palm from her belt. She closed her palm into a fist around the ingot before holding up said fist.
"Fist of Iron!" said Becky as her enclosed fist glowed a pink aura before her whole fist changed into a grayish color turning it into iron itself. She got into a ready stance with her fist reeled back, she slowly opened and closed her fist as it lit up with pink aura before unleashing a powerful hammer fist strike on one of crates destroying it.
"GRAAAAAH!" shouted the reptile alien popping out of his hiding place alerting the three SPD officers.
The alien lunged at Becky who gracefully dodged making it lunge towards Emmett instead, luckily, he acted quickly as he waved his right arm in a circular motion while releasing a blue aura in front of him and the moment the alien was upon him, it was repelled back by a circular shield of blue energy sending the alien tumbling to the ground.
The alien grunted stumbling on his feet before running away.
"Pursue!" commanded Emmett as he, Caleb and Becky held up their SPD laser blasters and ran after the alien criminal.
The alien turned back to his pursuers and sent a red lightning blast from his palm and at them hoping to knock them down but missed leaving a spark explosion behind the trio, the alien tried again two more times but got the same result making it grunt in frustration.
Becky and Caleb sent a couple of acrobatic kicks at the alien, only for the alien to avoid them with a couple of cartwheels and flips.
When the alien landed after his last flip, he was met with the three SPD officers as they engaged him in close combat. The trio sent a few flip kicks and punches here and there but the alien dodged and countered their attacks, it then aimed to attack Becky who in turn did a back handspring to avoid the alien's attack.
The alien attempted to send a couple of left and right hooks at her only for Becky to avoid them by doing another back handspring before she sent a forward kick at him making him stumble back.
By the time the alien gathered his bearings, he was met with Caleb who did a reverse spinning hook kick at him while at the same time, Becky did a jump spin kick at him from behind putting the alien in a daze.
Caleb expertly landed on the floor on his side before following up with a sweep kick knocking the alien down to the floor.
"OOF!" exclaimed the alien before getting back up again to retaliate.
Becky meanwhile went over to Emmett who took her free arm with his as he helped her do a backward flip towards the alien who was occupied with Caleb.
Caleb dodged and avoided the alien's attacks before doing a side flip from his opponent's kick and while he did that, the distracted alien was met with Becky doing a back kick at him.
Having had enough, the alien tried to escape as he jumped away towards the exit as he landed with a role only to be met with Becky who did a few back handsprings to pursue the alien until she landed in front of him blocking his way. The alien tried to escape another direction only to be met with Caleb who pointed his laser blaster at him, he tried to go back the way he came from only to be met with Emmett who pointed his blaster at him.
Seeing that he was surrounded, the alien held up his arms as red lightning streamed through his arms "Gruuuuhhhh… RAAAAA!" he shouted after charging up before sending a blast of red lightning with his right hand at the three creating a spark explosion sending them flying back as Becky and Emmett spun in midair while Caleb did a full tuck backflip to avoid a rough landing.
Upon landing safely on her feet, Becky was the first to fire the first shot, the alien was hit on the shoulder by a white laser bolt sending him stumbling back.
With a yell, Caleb followed with a reverse spinning double hook kick making the alien stumble back again.
Emmett ran forward towards the criminal who sent a red lightning blast at him, only for the squad leader to do an under-tuck backflip avoiding the blast before landing in a crouching position in front of his target and before the alien could even act, the officer pointed his weapon forward and fired, shooting the alien criminal on the shoulder sending him flying into a pile of crates before landing on the floor on his stomach with a groan, incapacitating him in the process.
The three officers holstered their weapons and regrouped in front of the busted entrance before Emmett took out a communication device and activated it as it resounded with a *Beep!* "Emmett Thornton reporting in" he said through the device "Mission complete! Please advise" he said while feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment before deactivating the device.
And at that moment, someone walked in from the entrance in front of the three, that someone was none other than the head of SPD tech department Dr. Kat Manx who was currently clad in a gray shirt under a zipped-up jacket with her SPD initial pin on the upper right breast area, a pair of pale green trousers with a white belt and white shoes and held in her left hand was a datapad and strapped to her belt was a remote of some kind.
"Well done cadets, your training progresses nicely" she said in approval revealing that Emmett, Caleb and Becky are actually SPD officers in training.
"U-uh, Kat!" said Caleb raising a finger in question "Uh… um-um-I mean uh… ma'am!" he stuttered, getting her attention "Duh I mean uh, I mean… Miss Manx" he said clearing his throat before speaking up "We were all wondering…" he said while gesturing to his teammates "We know that there are A-Squad power rangers and that we're B-Squad cadets" he said as Dr. Manx nodded while she continued to listen "N-n-not that there's any problem with being a B-Squad cadet… or a C-Squad or a D-Squad…" he rambled as Kat continued to listen while Emmett shook his head in exasperation while Becky just sighed before interrupting Caleb's rambling.
"What Caleb's trying to say…" said Becky trailing off getting Kat's attention, she took a deep breath and said "Kat, when will Emmett, Caleb and I get to become rangers so that we could fight crime with those cool and awesome equipment?!" she asked making the tech department head smile in amusement.
"Kat, I already told them…" said Emmett as Kat turned to the leader of the trio "It's not about the suits or fancy equipment, it's about helping people and upholding the tradition of being a power ranger" he said "And I also told them that it'll take time and patience until we're ready to become rangers" he added.
Kat nodded in approval "Well said Cadet Thornton, and it's up to Commander Cruger to decide when you're ready…" she said as she pressed a button on her datapad "Not me" she said before the whole place began to change as objects such as abandoned crates and broken equipment disappeared into green pixels while the whole place around the group pixelated until it revealed a wide empty room with lights and SPD's police logos stamped on two sides of the walls. This was SPD's Simulation Room.
"Rest up Cadets" instructed Kat "Commander Cruger wants to see the three of you in 1500 hours" she said surprising the three albeit didn't show it "Dismissed" she said.
The B-Squad Cadets did the customary SPD salute; putting their left arms behind them and pumping their right arm sidewards to the right with their hand enclosed into a fist in front of their chest while putting their feet together in attention before proceeding to leave the simulation room with Emmett going first as he took a step back before turning towards the door and walked out, Becky casually following behind and Caleb following last after taking one last glance at Kat before slowly turning towards the exit.
After watching the cadets leave, Kat sensed something or someone standing behind her revealing to be the reptile alien letting out a few haggard breaths, she quickly turned towards the alien whipping out the remote from her belt and pointed it towards the alien firing some neon green beam at it.
The alien screamed and convulsed in shock as if it were electrocuted before it transformed into a young human male around his 20s with fair skin and blue eyes and he was currently wearing a purple techno skin suit that generated his alien appearance. This was Boom, Kat's assistant and Chief Gadget Tester of SPD.
Boom hunched forward, let out a couple of whimpers before straightening up with a sigh "Best cadets… EVER, Kat!" he said praising B-Squad.
"Agreed" said Kat "And you Boom, my eager assistant…" she said while Boom removed the hood part of the suit revealing his currently sweaty short spiky blonde hair "Job well done" she praised as Boom shook his head while letting out a blubbering sound in order to shake off his disorientation.
We now go to SPD Command Center where we see a number of officers working on consoles doing various tasks such as monitoring Concordia city, overseeing the happenings in the base and as well as other planets and other dimensions, for SPD wasn't only in charge of overseeing the happenings of their assigned sectors, they're also one of the many security overseers for the Celestial Council in watching over other dimensions.
All was going normally when an officer walked over to a certain someone sitting on the commander's chair with said chair facing back "Commander Cruger sir!" said the officer with a salute "We have a problem at the-" "Ninth quadrant of the Techno-Fantasy Dimension" said Commander Anubis "Doggie" Cruger finishing the officer's sentence as he slowly turned his chair to him "I am aware…" he said "We've lost contact with another world…" he said gravely "There is not a lot of time and much to be done…" said the Sirian narrowing his eyes "It won't be long now before THEY come to this dimension and target Eartheon" he said grimly.
Time: 2:55 PM
Later at the lounging area of SPD, we see Caleb who had his jacket unzipped revealing his brown t-shirt with black SPD initials on it and Becky chilling in one of the sofas when Boom came in, he was currently wearing a white long sleeve shirt under a dark gray t-shirt with black SPD initials on it, a gray zipper jumpsuit over his attire with a black tool belt with the upper part of his jumpsuit wrapped around his waist and black shoes. He currently had a tray of food on his left hand while his right arm on the other hand was wrapped in a white cast with a few signed signatures on them and was attached to a metal stand that's attached to his right hip keeping his cast elevated.
Upon seeing Boom, Becky gasped when she saw his cast "Boom!" she exclaimed in alarm "Did… did we do that…?" she asked concerned while feeling a bit regretful for being a bit too rough on him during training.
"Nah~" said Boom casually with a smile as if it wasn't a big deal before stopping in front of the two "You guys just dislocated my shoulder, popped it back in and it's as good as gold!" he assured her "See!" he said as he popped his shoulder a bit making a *Crick!* sound causing him to let out a groan making Becky cringe slightly while Caleb winced a bit.
"Anyway, this is Kat's new arm cast laser" said Boom changing the subject "Cool huh?" he said as Caleb stood up from his seat and inspected Boom's cast "Anyway uh, I gotta go" he said gesturing to where he was going "Bye guys- AGH!" he said before he winced while exclaiming in pain after using his casted arm to wave goodbye causing him to drop his tray of food.
Caleb sighed before helping Boom pick up his tray but then, Boom accidentally activated his cast's laser as a red laser beam went straight towards somewhere in the lounge resulting in a crashing sound followed by a couple of yelps and screams… and as well as a couple of groans.
Becky gasped putting her hands over her mouth as she, Caleb and Boom looked on at the destruction in shock.
"I'm okay!" exclaimed one of the unfortunate victims of Boom's accidents as smoke emitted from wherever Boom shot the laser at. And at that moment, the doors to the lounge slid open revealing Emmett, upon walking in and seeing the destruction, he shook his head and let out an exasperated sigh before calling out "Boom!" he said loudly, his shout startling Boom and Caleb, the latter ducking with a yelp in surprise while the former along with Becky turned to the B-Squad leader "Clean up your mess" he ordered.
"Y-Yes sir!" squawked the Chief Gadget Tester standing in attention "Sorry… which mess?" he asked nervously.
Emmett walked over to Boom "Start with the last one you made…" he said looking towards the smoking mess before turning to Boom "Then work backwards" he told him strictly.
"Y-Yes sir!" said Boom as he began to walk backwards towards the door while holding his empty tray.
"Emmett… you didn't have to be so strict with him" said Becky "Lighten up" she told him "Boom's a great guy" she said "I mean he can be a little weird sometimes but… he's a great guy none the less" she reasoned.
Emmett let out a sigh "I know Becky…" he said in understanding "It's just…" he said as he moved a chess piece on a chess set laying on the table in front of the three "Someday… when we get into trouble… our lives will have to depend on a great guy like him…" he said.
"Oh, I get it!" said Caleb getting their attention "So you're saying… when trouble finds us… our lives will have to depend on him!" he said making Becky chuckle nervously with a sweat drop.
Emmett let out a sigh before saying "Let's go guys" he said "Commander Cruger's waiting for us" he told them as the trio left the lounge and towards the command center.
Back at the command center we see Commander Cruger discussing urgent matters with none other than the SPD A-Squad power rangers composed of the half-elf Hanath "Hana" Erlana, the goblin Trux Grayscar, the wolf beastkin Jared Malcom and the two humans Joel "Joey" Hollard and Emmett's older sister and leader of A-Squad Paige Thornton. They were currently in their ranger forms without their helmets and were carrying their weapons as they stood in attention.
"Listen up A-Squad, preparation is the key to any tactical defense" said Cruger "Report to Delta Airbase for last minute simulation instruction" he said "Eartheon depends on you. Dismissed!"
"Yes sir!" saluted A-Squad as they held up their Delta Shooters at the ready before turning the opposite direction and proceeded to leave the command center towards their assigned destination and task with Paige leading the way.
"Good luck A-Squad!" called out Cruger.
As the A-Squad was on their way through the halls in a single file, they came across B-Squad.
"Attention!" said Emmett upon seeing his sister's squad headed their way as he stopped and moved to the side allowing them to pass and the same went with Becky and Caleb.
As Paige came running past her brother, as if time slowed down, the two shared a brief glance with one another as the older Thornton gave the younger Thornton an encouraging smile and nod wishing him luck with the commander before her helmet materialized over her head and the same went with the rest of A-Squad.
As Caleb watched the retreating A-Squad, he removed his glove and waved his hand towards them and saw that the A-Squad's auras emitted a fiery red and foggy violet color.
"Whoa~, so that was the A-Squad! They look so cool~!" said Becky in admiration with stars in her eyes before gasping in realization "Wait! That was your sister I saw run past us just now! You did mention that she's part of A-Squad but you didn't mention that she's the red ranger!" she said turning to Emmett before gasping upon realizing another thing "Then that must mean that she's the leader of A-Squad! That's just so cool!" she squealed in excitement.
"Yeah… Paige did say that she's always wanted to become the red ranger someday" said Emmett staring down the hallway where A-Squad was.
"What about you? Ever thought about becoming red ranger yourself?" asked Becky.
"Maybe… maybe not…" said Emmett vaguely making Becky frown with a raised eyebrow at that before noticing Caleb making a face while staring towards the same direction Emmett was staring "What's wrong Caleb?" she asked concerned.
"I don't know…" said Caleb "Their energy, their colors…" he trailed off before turning to his teammates "They seemed a bit… agitated… concerned even" he said making them frown.
'Why would Paige be agitated, let alone concerned?' wondered Emmett in concern for his older sister before shaking it off 'Whatever's going on, it probably might have something to do with whatever Commander Cruger's gonna discuss with us' he thought "Come on guys, can't, keep the commander waiting" he said as the trio continued forward.
Once the trio entered the command center, they were greeted with Commander Cruger standing in front of them with his hands behind him "Cadets…" he greeted as the trio saluted him before putting their hands behind them in attention "I trust that you've enjoyed your training at SPD Academy?" he asked.
"Yes sir, we're training really hard sir." said Becky.
"Excellent" nodded Cruger in approval "Then I have some news to inform you" he said getting the trio's attention "In one week from now, new cadets will be transferred from SPD L.A. branch to here in Concordia branch and I'll be assigning some of them… to B-Squad" he announced surprising the trio.
"Uh… permission to speak sir?" asked Caleb raising a hand up.
"Go ahead Cadet Cortez." said Cruger.
"W-when you said that we'll be getting new cadet transferees, we'll be getting them here specifically…?" asked Caleb.
"I did" nodded Cruger in confirmation.
"A-and you said that you'll be assigning some of them to B-Squad, then that means us…?" said Caleb "In other words new transferees who're part of the transferees coming will become our new teammates, teammates who'll be assigned to us by you, teammates who are transferees from another SPD branch who're cadets like us and will be assigned to B-Squad who is also-" he rambled only for Becky to interrupt him after hearing Cruger let out an annoyed growl "Yes Caleb! We'll be getting new teammates for our squad" she told him while giving him a look that told him not to get on their commander's bad side.
"Okay… understood" said Caleb nodding in understanding before speaking no further.
Cruger nodded in thanks to Becky before continuing to speak "Aside from getting new team members, there's a matter of utmost importance that's come about and it regards classified information that must be discussed specifically with B-Squad" he said.
This surprised Caleb and Becky as they glanced at each other while Emmett narrowed his eyes expectantly 'This information might be what's agitating Paige and the rest of A-Squad' he thought.
"Unfortunately, I can't discuss this matter until all members of B-Squad are present" he said "So until your new teammates arrive in Concordia, I'll be upholding this information till further notice" he told them.
"Understood sir." nodded Emmett in understanding speaking for B-Squad but mentally sighed in disappointment that he won't be able to know what's going on.
"So, in the meantime…" trailed off Cruger getting the trio's attention "I'll be assigning you to do a special task" he said surprising the three again "It's not that your training has ended, or will it ever end while you're here… as your commander, I must call upon B-Squad to step up and take on new responsibilities" he said.
This got Caleb and Becky excited as the former pumped his fist while the latter let out an excited smile before the two shared a fist-bump while Emmett on the other hand remained composed and professional as he wondered what they'll be doing while waiting for their new teammates to arrive.
One week later…
Time: 9 AM (US Time)
It was morning and the city of Concordia was bustling with activity, citizens going on about their daily routines and vehicles moving back and forth in the roads.
We go to a bus terminal where one particular bus arrived and dropped off two individuals carrying duffel bags and wheeled suitcases.
The first individual was a young human male about 20 years old of African-American descent with shoulder length black hair that are in dreadlocks and held in a ponytail, light brown skin, slim and well-developed build and black eyes. This was Karver Graves, one of the cadet transferees from SPD L.A. branch, he was currently clad in casual attire composed of a black t-shirt under an open gray hooded jacket and a dark gray open vest, bluish gray jean pants with a belt, black socks and a pair of black and gray running shoes.
And the second individual was a young human female about 18 years old with long chocolate brown hair that reaches just past her shoulder with some strands held in a combination of a braid around the back of her head plus a small high-ponytail, fair skin, slim build, ample bust and light brown eyes. This was Karissa Dalia Gonzáles, another cadet transferee of SPD and Karver's close friend in SPD Academy L.A. branch. She was clad in a casual attire composed of a yellow t-shirt under an open maroon zipper jacket, a pair of dark blue jean pants with a belt and a pair of black combat boots.
Karissa let out a sigh as she took in the view of the city "Here we are Karver… Concordia… the city of harmony…" she told her fellow cadet and friend.
"Heh… so this is our new stomping grounds huh…?" said Karver taking in the sights of the city "Can't wait to take 'em on!" he declared with a grin.
"*Sigh*, Just don't get yourself into trouble Karver, I can't always be there to bail you out y'know." said Karissa.
"Just relax Karissa, I can handle myself just fine" declared Karver confidently.
"That's not… what I meant…" sighed Karissa "Anyway, we should be heading over to SPD Headquarters, the other transferees have probably arrived there by now" she said.
"Copy that Karissa" said Karver with a two-finger salute before the two cadet transferees proceeded on their way to SPD HQ.
Meanwhile, we go to a place called Harmony Plaza where we see B-Squad walking around in patrol.
"Y'know, when commander Cruger assigned us to take on new responsibilities, I thought we'd be out there apprehending dangerous criminals and not out here doing daily patrols…" complained Becky as she along with Emmett and Caleb climbed down a flight of stairs.
"What made you think that the commander would assign rookies like us to apprehend high ranking criminals Becky?" questioned Emmett bluntly.
"Well, I…" Becky tried to retort only to stop for a moment before slumping forward after realization hit her "Yeah, I guess you do have a point…" she said glumly.
"And besides, he did say that we'll only be doing this until the new transferees arrive" pointed out Caleb.
"Yeah, he did say that." said Becky cheering up a bit.
"Plus, it is important to learn awareness of surroundings, it could come in handy in the future." said Emmett.
"Yeah, you're probably right…" said Becky stretching her arms "I'm just glad that today's our last day on patrol" she said before turning giddy "Ah~! I can't wait to meet our new teammates! Oh, I wonder what they'll be like? I just hope I get along with them!" she said.
"I guess we'll find out later today" said Emmett as the trio continued along.
Suddenly, they heard an alarm signaling a robbery.
"Uh oh!" exclaimed Becky upon hearing that.
"It's coming from the jewelry store over there!" exclaimed Caleb pointing towards said jewelry store.
"Let's go check it out!" said Emmett taking out his SPD Laser.
Caleb and Becky nodded, taking out their own lasers before the trio ran towards the store to investigate.
At the jewelry store, a group of five thieves clad in casual clothes with jackets, black colored balaclavas and armed with guns walked out of the jewelry store carrying bags of stolen jewelry while the alarm continued to blare.
The lead thief cackled as he raised up his Uzi pistol towards the sky and fired a few warning shots scaring a few citizens nearby "Ah~, I sure love the smell of fear in the morning!" said the lead thief in enjoyment.
"Hehehe… we sure got one heck of a grab boss!" said one of the henchmen looking at the inside of his bag revealing a number of jewels inside them and he seemed like the arrogant kind. He had an AK-47 rifle slung on his shoulder.
"Bet, we could sell these for a hefty price and we'll be rich!" declared another henchman, this one on the lines of greedy. He had a shotgun slung on his shoulder.
"Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Ahahahahaha!" laughed the bafoonish one of the five. He had a SAW machine gun in his hands.
"Hmph…" grunted the silent one of the five carrying an SMG in his hands.
"Enough babbling you three, we gotta get out of here before-" said the leader only for someone to call out "HALT!" before he frowned and turned towards the source of the one who called out "Before the cops show up…" he said as Emmett, Caleb and Becky arrived Delta Lasers at the ready.
"SPD! You're under arrest!" declared Emmett as the lead thief tsked in annoyance.
"Oh no! It's SPD! We're doomed!" exclaimed the bafoonish henchmen comically.
"Calm down you nitwit, there's only three of them, we outnumber them ten to one." said the arrogant henchmen.
"Maybe so, but we can still kick your butts no problem!" declared Becky.
"Hmph! And what makes you think you can take on all of us?" questioned the lead thief while the silent thief narrowed his eyes.
"Who knows…? We can be full of surprises sometimes" replied Becky.
The five jewelry thieves turned to each other confused before the leader pointed his gun at the trio "Kill 'em!" he shouted as his men followed suit and pointed their weapons at them.
"Uh oh!" exclaimed Becky in alarm.
"Guys! Get behind me!" shouted Emmett as Becky and Caleb did so.
"Fire!" shouted the lead thief as the five open fired unloading a huge barrage of lead at B-Squad.
But just in a split-second, Emmett swung his arm in a wide circular motion creating a blue energy shield making the bullets bounce off of said shield instead.
"What?!" exclaimed the greedy thief as the group stopped their barrage.
"How did…!?" exclaimed the arrogant thief in disbelief.
"Like what Becky said, we're full of surprises." said Caleb.
"Grrr… keep shooting!" shouted the leader as the four prepared to unleash another barrage.
"I don't think so!" shouted Emmett as he, Caleb and Becky were the first to act fast as they fired a couple laser shots at the jewelry thieves disarming them of their weapons and also making them drop their stolen goods.
The bafoonish thief growled and shouted out angrily and ran straight towards B-Squad.
"Hey! Don't just charge forward!" snapped the arrogant thief but fell on deaf ears.
"Out of the way!" exclaimed Emmett as he and Caleb jumped out of the way but Becky didn't as she stood there with her fists raised up in a combat ready stance.
The bafoonish thief roared as he lunged at Becky.
"Hah!" she shouted throwing a right hook at the thief.
*POW!*
"OOOOOOHHHHHHH!" squeaked the thief in pain with a high-pitched voice making all the males who saw this cringe.
The bafoonish thief held his family jewels in great pain as he took a few steps back before he fell backwards hitting the floor revealing Becky with her right fist forward, said fist turned into iron.
"Wha… what the…?!" exclaimed the lead thief.
"What kind of freaks are they?!" exclaimed the arrogant thief in disbelief as he watched his fellow thief squirm on the ground in pain.
"The kind you don't wanna mess with" said Becky shaking her wrist.
"Halt! SPD!" shouted a voice as everyone turned towards behind B-Squad as more SPD officers about four of them ran towards the group. They were clad in similar SPD uniforms as B-Squad but in a tan color scheme with small hints of black.
"Huh… glad you called for backup while on the way here Emmett" commented Becky.
"Shoot! More cops!" exclaimed the greedy thief.
"Let's scram!" declared the leader before he and the remaining thieves still standing ran away with the greedy thief taking one of the fallen bags of jewelry.
"Hey!" exclaimed Becky upon seeing the thieves run away.
"D-Squad reporting in! You called for reinforcements sir?" asked the leader of D-Squad as he and the other members arrived.
"I did" nodded Emmett in confirmation "We got five thieves, one of them incapacitated and four on the run, I need two of you to come with us and pursue them while two of you stay here and apprehend this one" he said referring the still squirming bafoonish thief.
"Yes sir!" said D-Squad leader before turning to one of his teammates "Miller, you're with me and Thornton's group" he said "Salazar, Hudson, you two stay and take care of him" he said to his other two teammates.
"Right away sir!" nodded the two before B-Squad and the other two D-Squad members pursued the thieves.
Meanwhile with the four thieves, they rushed through the streets while knocking down a few people in front of them.
Across from the street parallel to their side, we see Karver and Karissa walking from the opposite direction with their luggage in hand when they saw the thieves running.
"What the heck?!" exclaimed Karissa as she and Karver stopped and watched the thieves running away.
"Huh, looks like we got a bunch of thieves escaping the law." said Karver.
"It seems so…" said Karissa before taking a glance at Karver, only for her to look at him in alarm upon noticing a grin on his face "Oh no… Karver… please don't tell me you're gonna do what I believe you're gonna do…?" she asked in dread.
And much to her dismay, Karver's grin widened "Oh, yes. I. Am!" he declared and with that, he dropped his luggage and ran across the street to the other side and went after the thieves.
"Karver, wait!" called our Karissa reaching out towards her friend but Karver was already in pursuit of the fleeing thieves, she then glanced back and forth between hers and Karver's luggage and where her friend went before growling in annoyance "Hay, naku naman… BAKIT!? (Aw man… JUST WHY!?)" she exclaimed in Tagalog while scratching her head in frustration.
Back with the thieves, they continued to run while attempting to lose their pursuers when all of a sudden…
"Hold it right there!" exclaimed a voice as someone jump flipped over the three before landing in front of them. That someone was Karver as he faced the thieves in a combat ready stance "This is the end of the line for you thieves!" he declared.
"Well… well… well… look what we have here boss, someone who's trying to be a hero." said the arrogant thief mockingly.
"I'm no hero, just a guy who hates crooks like you." said Karver.
The lead thief just scoffed "You think you can take us on alone?" he questioned while the silent thief narrowed his eyes.
"He's not alone!" shouted a voice.
"Huh?" said the thieves as they saw someone jump flipped over them and landed next to Karver revealing to be Karissa as she too got into a combat ready stance.
"Glad of you to join in Karissa." said Karver.
"No thanks to you" replied Karissa.
"So, what took ya?" asked Karver.
"Had to take care of the luggage" she responded.
"Oh, look at this, a girlie came to play~" mocked the arrogant thief.
"Well, this "girlie's" got a few tricks up her sleeve" declared Karissa confidently.
"Well, even so we got you outnumbered four against two!" said the arrogant thief.
"We're taking you down!" declared the greedy thief.
"Oh really? Then what about me?" asked a voice behind the trio of thieves.
"Huh?!" exclaimed the greedy thief before he and the others turned the opposite direction to see much to their surprise Karissa standing behind the greedy thief with her hands on her hips and a confident smile.
"What the?!" exclaimed the arrogant thief.
"EEYAH!" shouted the greedy thief swinging his bag of stolen jewelry at Karissa in an attempt to knock her down only for the bag to phase through her much to the thief's shock "WHA?!" he exclaimed.
"It's just a hologram, it's not even real." declared the arrogant thief confidently.
The Karissa "hologram" in response smirked and got into a combat ready stance before sending a right roundhouse kick at the greedy thief knocking him down to the ground.
"DOOF!" exclaimed the thief hitting the ground and at the same time, the bag of jewels he was carrying spilt and scattered jewels on the ground "NO! My precious jewels!" he exclaimed frantically gathering up the spilt jewels.
The remaining three thieves looked towards their fellow thief before glancing towards the Karissa "hologram" who disappeared all of a sudden and then turning back towards Karver and Karissa.
"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" mocked Karver with a smirk.
The lead thief growled "That's it, we're gonna take you down!" he declared angrily.
"You're gonna have to catch us first!" said Karver as he and Karissa ran the opposite direction, the latter sticking her tongue out while pulling her right lower eye lid taunting them.
This infuriated the thieves as they prepared to go after the duo.
"Hey! What are you doing?! Get up will you!" shouted the arrogant thief towards the greedy thief still occupied with putting his stolen jewelry back inside his bag.
"Leave him!" said the lead thief before he, the silent and the arrogant thief proceeded to chase after Karver and Karissa leaving the greedy thief all alone with his jewelry.
By the time the greedy thief finished gathering his jewelry, his fellow accomplices were a couple distance away from him "Hey guys!" he called out getting to his feet while holding his stolen goods over his shoulder "Wait for me- AAHHH!" he said only for him to be knocked down to the ground once again, this time he was tackled by none other than the two members of D-Squad.
"SPD! You're under arrest!" shouted D-Squad leader as he and Miller pinned him down to the ground restraining him.
"NOOOO!" shouted the greedy thief in dismay as D-Squad leader handcuffed him.
"Good job Hamilton, you caught one of the thieves" said Emmett as he and the rest of B-Squad arrived.
"Yeah, but he was all alone Thornton, must've got separated from his buddies" said the leader of D-Squad now identified as Hamilton as he and Miller put the greedy thief back to his feet.
"Guess we were just lucky that he took him by surprise" said Miller while grabbing the bag of stolen jewelry.
"Where did the other three go?" questioned Becky looking around the area.
"Let me see…" said Caleb removing his right glove before waving his hand creating green aura ripple effect and what he saw in his vision were afterimages of the thieves' encounter with Karver and Karissa before three of them chased after the two, leaving the greedy thief behind.
"Uh oh…" said Caleb.
"What is it?" asked Emmett.
"Looks like the thieves encountered two civilians, they seemed like they wanted to pick a fight and then ran away with the two perpets hot on their tails while leaving him behind" explained Caleb while gesturing to the greedy thief.
"What! Civilians?!" exclaimed Becky "Why would civilians get themselves involved with them?" she questioned in alarm.
"Whatever the case, we gotta catch up to them before they get themselves hurt or worse" said Emmett with a frown before turning to Caleb "Can you pinpoint where the thieves went after they started chasing the civilians, Caleb?" questioned Emmett.
"Already on it, Emmett" said Caleb observing the images of the thieves and where they went "They went straight ahead that way towards somewhere secluded" he said.
"The civilians must have thought of luring the thieves away from the public" concluded Becky "If they think they can deal with the thieves then they might get themselves into trouble" she added.
"Alright then" nodded Emmett before turning to the D-Squad members "Hamilton, Ross, Cortez and I will go after the thieves, you and Miller regroup with the rest of your squad and take the remaining thieves back to base" he told the D-Squad leader now identified as Hamilton.
"Right away Thornton, and good luck!" nodded Hamilton before he and Miller proceeded to take the greedy thief back with them to HQ.
Emmett turned to the rest of his squad "Let's go guys" he said.
"Right!" nodded Becky and Caleb as the trio proceeded to chase after the thieves and hopefully catch up to the "civilians" in time.

A few moments prior, Karissa and Karver were currently on the run from the remaining three thieves who were pursuing them in order to lure them to a secluded area away from civilians.
The two then came across a fork on the road, one led straight to some path that led to a garage of some warehouse while the other led downwards towards some small flea market of sorts that was currently deserted.
"You head straight while I go down!" said Karver.
"Right!" nodded Karissa as the two split up.
The three thieves stopped in their tracks once they reached the fork and saw the two running in separate directions of said fork.
"We'll go take dreadlocks… you take the girl…" declared the lead thief as he and the silent thief ran after Karver.
The arrogant thief smirked "With pleasure boss…" he said before he ran after Karissa.
And so, a simultaneous battle began.
With Karver, he arrived at the deserted flea market when his path was blocked by the silent thief who glared at him. Karver turned behind him to see the lead thief as he was now surrounded.
The silent thief threw a left hook at Karver only for him to block it with his right forearm before he twisted his arm around the silent thief's arm gripping it at the last twist before throwing it to his left making the silent thief stumble forward, Karver then followed by throwing a right back swing at the lead thief behind him only the said thief to grab the cadet transferee's arm, Karver got out of his grip by throwing a back kick sending the lead thief crashing towards a table carrying a basket of stuffed toys and a stack of boxes next to it knocking said basket and boxes to the ground.
With Karissa, she neared the entrance of the garage when she felt her shoulder get grabbed.
"Gotcha girlie!" said the arrogant thief making her face him before dodging a right swing from her right arm and blocked her next swing with his right forearm. The arrogant thief grabbed her arm and attempted to swing her around only for her to flip sidewards followed by the thief after Karissa attempted the same thing.
Karissa then managed to escape the arrogant thief's grip and did a roundoff making the thief dodge her feet and do a reverse roundhouse kick followed by a low spinning sweep kick, Karissa dodged both attacks, the first one while doing her roundoff before doing a spin jump to avoid the second attack.
Both opponents got into combat ready stances before the arrogant thief made the first move, executing a low spinning sweep kick only for Karissa to spin jump avoiding the attack. The female cadet transferee retaliated with a forward kick only for the thief to block it before he sent a right kick at her only for Karissa to block it with a boxer block and retaliated with a right hook but the thief blocked it with his left arm instead. The thief then swung his right arm at her only for Karissa to duck before grabbing the thief's left arm blocking his back arm swing at her. The arrogant thief swung his arm forward in an attempt to make Karissa stumble forwards and lose her balance but she used it to her advantage and the moment she began to bend downwards, the young cadet transferee sent a back kick at him sending the arrogant thief stumbling forward instead.
"Why you little…!" exclaimed the thief angrily as he prepared to attack.
"AYAHH!"
But suddenly, someone came out of nowhere and sent a double kick at the thief before landing next to Karissa, sending the scum flying to the floor.
"DOOF!" exclaimed the thief before getting back up as he scowled at the one responsible for kicking him revealing to be none other than Becky Ross.
"Are you alright?" asked Becky while in a combat ready stance.
"Yeah, glad to have some help" nodded Karissa also getting into a combat ready stance.
"All in a day's work for a member of SPD!" said Becky confidently.
"Heh, what a coincidence, I'm also a member of SPD, I just transferred here from the L.A. branch" said Karissa surprising and perking up Becky.
"Whoa! You're one of the cadet transferees?!" asked Becky.
"Uh huh, I was on my way to HQ with my friend who's also a cadet when this happened." said Karissa.
"Hehe! Well then, welcome to Concordia!" welcomed Becky with a smile.
"Thanks!" chirped Karissa.
"If you girlies are done with your girl talk, how about we settle this!?" said the arrogant thief in annoyance.
"We'll continue our talk later, let's deal with this thug first…" said Karissa with a confident grin.
"Right!" said Becky with an equally confident grin before the two girls charged at the arrogant thief.
Back with Karver he was currently face to face with the silent thief, both charged at each other, the latter expecting a tackle lock, only for the former to jump past him and onto a shopping cart using it as balance allowing him to back kick the thief making him stumble back. The thief retaliated by jump kicking the cart in which Karver was still on causing him to roll into a wooden platform trolley full of empty shoeboxes.
Karver smirked and retaliated by pushing the cart at the thief taking him off-guard as it knocked him into a table full of potted plants.
Karver grinned confidently before said grin fell when he turned to his left to see the lead thief headed towards him, he acted quickly by throwing a few stacks of the empty shoeboxes to distract him allowing him to run somewhere else only for him to be blocked by the silent thief who he and the lead thief trapped him in a corner, Karver moved fast and climbed the corner he was trapped on before managing to reach the wooden boardwalk above him.
Just when he thought he got the high ground, the lead thief followed him and grabbed him by his shoulders. Karver attempted to fight out of his grip only for the thief to toss him out of the boardwalk, luckily Karver acted quickly and spun around while in mid-air as he landed on his feet before he did an aerial reverse roundhouse kick at the silent thief sending him flying spinning around before landing on the ground on some layed down bags.
"Hah! Beat that!" he taunted only to feel something grab his shoulder and turned to see the lead thief above him standing on the wooden boardwalk, Karver attempted to grab the thief's arm with his other arm only for it to be grabbed by the thief instead.
"Not this time dreadlocks!" said the lead thief "You're so gonna get it!" he said with anger in his eyes.
"Actually, it's you who's gonna get it!" said a voice.
"Huh?!" said the lead thief before he was grabbed by the shoulders and pulled away freeing Karver as he turned to see none other than Emmett Thornton who was wrestling with the lead thief.
"Release me you SPD scum!" demanded the lead thief.
"Alright then…" said Emmett before tossing him over his shoulder and off the wooden boardwalk.
The thief screamed before landing on a couple of tables with items on them with a "OOF!" before sliding down to the floor.
"Whoa, thanks for the save" said Karver casually towards Emmett.
"Just doing my job" replied Emmett.
Karver then heard someone yelling and turned to see none other than the silent thief charging towards him.
Karver prepared himself only for someone to get in front of him and allowed them to get tackled by the silent thief. That someone was none other than Caleb Cortez who he and the silent thief began to wrestle it out, the thief pushed Caleb to a corner making it hard for him to move as he struggled to get out of his grasp, luckily Karver acted quick and grabbed a piece of clothing that was hanging nearby and threw it on the silent thief covering his whole head allowing Caleb to push the thief away from him as he landed on the stacked pile of empty shoeboxes.
Caleb then turned to Karver "Thanks man" he said.
"No problem, bro" he said as he and Caleb shared a low five already becoming fast friends.
Suddenly, they heard a groan and turned to see the lead thief get back up "Just because you outnumber us now doesn't mean we won't give up on giving you a beating!" he said in defiance while the silent thief got back up and removed the clothing from his head.
"We'll see about that…" said Emmett as he regrouped with Caleb and Karver as they faced their opponents.
"Let's do this, guys!" declared Karver as if he was taking charge as he and Caleb got into a ready stance.
"Hmph… since when did you take charge?" questioned Emmett with a scoff while getting into a ready stance.
"Let's just beat these punks good and then ask questions deal?" said Karver.
"Good enough for me" said Caleb with Emmett grunting in agreement despite getting a bit annoyed with Karver for some reason before they charged at their opponents.
Back with Becky and Karissa, the former was currently wrestling with the arrogant thief before the thief pushed her away making the both of them stumble back.
The thief stumbled back before he felt someone stop him, he turned behind him and saw none other than Karissa who smirked at him "Hi there" she greeted before she and thief began to exchange blows with each other.
At the same moment, Becky continued to stumble backwards before someone caught her from behind "Whoa!" exclaimed Becky in surprise.
"You alright?" asked a familiar voice as Becky turned behind her to see none other than Karissa who smiled at her.
"What the?!" she exclaimed in surprise before glancing back and forth between Karissa and the thief who was also engaged in battle with Karissa.
"Whoa! You got powers too?!" asked Becky turning to Karissa in awe.
"Yep! I'll tell you about it later" said Karissa, her fellow cadet nodding in response before they charged at towards the arrogant thief.
Becky and the two Karissa duplicates began to send a few kicks and punched at the thief who dodged and blocked, the thief now found himself face to with the three as he narrowed his eyes "Don't think you'll overpower me just because there's more of you now!" he said arrogantly.
"We'll see about that, right you two?" said Becky while turning to the two Karissa duplicates.
"Right!" said the two before all three got into a ready combat stance and charged at the thief.
The three sent a number of punches and kicks at the arrogant thief but despite being outnumbered, thief was managing to hold out as he blocked each strike but just when he blocked two attempted karate chops from the two Karissa duplicates and pushed them away, he was met with Becky sending a palm strike at his chest making him stumble into the rails behind him.
One of the Karissa duplicates sent a kick at him only for the thief to dodge while spinning to his right as he dodged a couple more strikes from the Karissa duplicates and Becky before he jumped over the rails but held onto the edge. The thief glanced down towards the place his fellow thieves were and saw that they were currently brawling against the other two members of B-Squad and Karver before he dodged a swing from one of the Karissa duplicates. He flipped over the rail and landed behind the duplicates before doing a low spinning sweep kick knocking the two to the ground.
"Hah! Not so tough now, are you?!" mocked the arrogant thief.
"Hey!" shouted a voice.
"Huh?" said the thief turning to see Becky charging at him with an angered expression.
"Did you forget about me?! HA!" said Becky before throwing a right hook at the thief with a shout.
*POW!*
"DOOF!" exclaimed the thief as he was punched in the face.
Back with the two B-Squad members and Karver, the former two were seen sent flying after being taken by surprise and the two landed onto a pile of empty boxes which fell on top of them followed by something heavy, trapping them as a result, leaving Karver to deal with the two thieves.
The lead thief lunged onto the table making him slide through it in order to get to Karver, only for the young cadet transferee to do an aerial flip dodging the lead thief before landing on the table.
As he stood on the table, Karver turned to see the lead thief and the silent thief charge at him and before he knew it, the two grabbed the edge of the same table he was standing on and with their combined strength, they flipped the table sending Karver airborne.
Luckily, Karver acted fast and did a full tuck backflip followed by a mid-air kick towards the airborne table sending it towards the thieves forcing them to get out of the way.
Upon landing, the lead thief grabbed him and attempted to slam him on the side, only for Karver to escape his grasp by stepping on an edge of a wooden platform trolley and did an aerial backflip and upon landing, the thief grabbed him again, only to escape his grasp again by twisting his body around making the lead thief stumble before pushed Karver towards a fruit stand knocking down some of said fruits before hitting the floor.
He groaned before managing to sit up only to see the silent thief charge at him, Karver quickly got up and avoided the thief and tumbled over a shopping cart full of items before running away only to find himself in front of a dead end as he found himself leaning behind a wall.
The two thieves arrived and stopped in front of Karver "Got you…" uttered out the lead thief as he and his fellow thief blocked his way, leaving no chance to escape.
Karver just stood there all calm and collected as he waited for the thieves to make a move.
"Say goodnight dreadlocks" said the lead thief as he and the silent thief lunged at Karver.
But suddenly, while they lunged at him, Karver lunged into the wall behind him and just like that, phased through it resulting in the two thieves slamming into the wall before landing onto the ground.
"OOF!" exclaimed the two landing on their backs.
Back with Becky and Karissa's battle, the arrogant thief attempted to double clothesline the girls only for them to grab onto his arms and just like that threw him over the rails as all three of them fell towards the area Karver was currently at.
The results were the girls landing safely on their feet while the arrogant thief on the other hand landed on a pile of empty carboard boxes.
The arrogant thief groaned in pain as he could no longer move.
"Alright!" cheered Becky and Karissa sharing a double high five at their victory.

"Ugh!" exclaimed a voice getting the two girls' attention as they saw Emmett and Caleb removing some of the boxes that they were buried in while trying to remove the heavy object on them.
"You two alright?" asked Becky as she and Karissa helped removed the heavy object allowing them to stand up.
"Yeah, we're fine" said Caleb as he helped Emmett stand up.
"Alright then, let's cuff these guys and take them back to HQ" said Becky as the rest of B-Squad nodded.
Just then, Karver phased out of the wall surprising Becky "Whoa! Now that startled me!" said Becky.
"Yeah, I had the same reaction when he showed his powers to me." said Karissa.
"Whew! That sure takes care of that!" said Karver as he watched B-Squad handcuff the thieves "Thanks for the help back there, we couldn't have stopped these goons without ya!" he said.
Emmett frowned in response "Then you should know better than to put yourselves in danger" he told them making Karissa flinch a bit at that.
"Huh? Whatcha sayin?" questioned Karver with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm saying that it's reckless for a civilian to involve themselves in police business even with your knowledge in self-defense, this is not a game y'know!" lectured Emmett.
This made Karver frown "Excuse me?! I was just tryin ta help! And who're you callin a civilian huh?!" he said as the two got onto each other's faces.
But before a fight could occur, Becky and Karissa got in between the two and pushed them away from each other.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Calm down you two!" said Becky.
"They're civilians Becky, they shouldn't get involved in things like this" retorted Emmett.
"Yo! I'm no civilian bro!" retorted Karver.
"Calm down Karver!" said Karissa preventing her friend from causing trouble, Karver doing so as he calmed down.
Karissa sighed in relief before turning to Emmett "What Karver's trying to say is that we're actually members of SPD, we're cadet transferees from the L.A. branch" she revealed shocking the members of B-Squad minus Becky since she already knows.
"What?! You two are- U-Ugh! You gotta be kidding me!" exclaimed Emmett in disbelief.
"It's true Emmett." said Becky.
"Here…" said Karissa pulling out an SPD ID and badge and presented it to Emmett "Show yours too Karver" said Karissa glancing towards Karver.
Karver hummed with a shrug before taking out his ID and badge from his pocket and presented it to Emmett.
The members of B-Squad took a look at the badges and after verifying its' validity, Emmett let out a grunt before returning the badges to the two "Alright then, I'll believe you two" he said before narrowing his eyes at Karver "But that doesn't excuse you to charge in and engage a criminal recklessly" he said.
"Hey, like I said, I just wanted to help in taking care of the bad guys around this city" retorted Karver.
"Emmett, can't you just let it slide for once?" said Becky putting a hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah, they did help us after all in rounding up the rest of these thieves" reasoned Caleb.
Emmett pondered this for a few moments before letting out an exasperated sigh "Alright then, I'll let this slide just once" he said much to the rest of B-Squad and Karissa's relief.
"Salamat! Thank you!" said Karissa thanking Emmet twice.
Emmett hummed with a nod "Alright you two, it's best that you head back to HQ and group up with the rest of the transferees" he said.
"Right!" said nodded Karissa doing the customary SPD salute before grabbing Karver by his wrist "C'mon Karver, we don't want to delay any longer" she said pulling him with her.
"Okay, okay, no need to be so hasty again" he said.
"You're the reason why I get so hasty all the time…" muttered Karissa.
"You say something?" questioned Karver.
"Nothing…" said Karissa before glancing back at B-Squad "See around you three!" she called out.
"Bye! See you around!" called out Becky waving towards Karissa.
"Hope we see you again!" called out Caleb.
"Look forward to it!" called back Karver waving at B-Squad as he and Karissa left the scene.
"Huh… they sure are nice." said Caleb.
"They sure are…" said Becky with a grin.
Emmett let out a sigh before glancing towards the thieves who were sitting on the floor handcuffed and tied up together "Let's take these thieves back to HQ guys…" he said.
"Right/Roger!" said Becky and Caleb as B-Squad took the thieves with them.
Later, we return to SPD HQ at the command center where we see B-Squad together with D-Squad lined up in attention as they briefed commander Cruger on their encounter with the thieves during the former's patrol.
"I commend you for your actions during your patrol today B-Squad, you have acted quickly once a serious situation suddenly occurred" said Cruger "And I also commend you for calling for backup incase the situation escalated Cadet Thornton" he told Emmett.
"Thank you, sir" nodded Emmett.
"And I also commend you for assisting them D-Squad" said Cruger turning to D-Squad.
"It was nothing sir, all we did was respond to their call for backup and we acted quickly" said Hamilton as he and the rest of D-Squad saluted.
"Be it as it may, you must commend yourselves for assisting in bringing in the thieves back here" said Cruger in which D-Squad were thankful for their commander's praise.
"Still…" trailed off Cruger as he turned to B-Squad "Although cadet Ross was able to apprehend her opponent even with some assisted help…" he trailed off before turning to Emmett and Caleb "Cadet Thornton, cadet Cortez…" he said "The both of you have underestimated your opponents and were soundly defeated and despite having advantage in numbers, your opponents in turn were soundly defeated as well… by one of our new cadet transferees" lectured Cruger.
"Yes sir… it's true…" sighed Caleb.
"No excuses for our failure sir…" said Emmett also accepting his mistake.
Cruger nodded in acknowledgment "Although it's good that you've accepted your errors, all three of you must now train even harder to work as a team" he told them.
"Understood sir!" said B-Squad.
Cruger nodded before turning to D-Squad "D-Squad, you're dismissed, return to your duties" he ordered.
"Sir, yes sir!" saluted D-Squad before turning towards the entrance of the command center and proceeded to leave.
Hamilton put a hand on Emmett and nodded to him wishing him luck before leaving.
Once D-Squad was gone, Cruger turned to B-Squad "Cadets, now that the debriefing's done, I'd like to announce that all the cadet transferees from the L.A. branch have arrived and already registered to Concordia city branch and have been sorted to their respective squads" he said.
B-Squad looked to each other before turning to their commander "Does this mean that you've already picked new members for our squad commander?" asked Becky.
"Indeed, I have…" nodded Cruger in confirmation "In fact, you'll be meeting them right now" he said.
As if on cue, the doors to the command center slid open "Speaking of which…" trailed off commander Cruger looking towards the entrance behind B-Squad as they turned around, and once they did, they were met with surprise.
"No way…!" uttered Becky with wide eyes of both surprise and excitement.
"You gotta be kidding me…" muttered Emmett in disbelief.
"Okay… I did not see this coming…" said Caleb in surprise.
Entering the command center were none other than Karver Graves and Karissa Dalia Gonzáles both clad in the same color schemed SPD uniform as B-Squad. They also had SPD Laser Blasters holstered on their right legs.
"Cadets… allow me to introduce the newest members of B-Squad" said commander Cruger "This is cadet Karver Graves and cadet Karissa Gonzáles" he introduced.
"Sup you three! Didn't expect to see us again, did ya?" said Karver with a grin and a two-finger salute.
"A pleasure to meet you guys again! I hope we can all work well together in the future!" said Karissa.
Becky couldn't contain herself anymore as she went over to Karissa and quickly held and lifted her hands with her own "Oh my gosh! I can't believe you were sorted into our team!" she said in elation.
"Same with me, I was surprised as well when commander Cruger informed us that Karver and I would be sorted into your squad and here we are!" she said "Oh right! I guess I forgot to properly introduce myself when we last met, I'm Karissa Dalia Gonzáles but you can just call me Karissa" she said.
"I'm Rebecca Ross but you can just call me Becky!" said Becky introducing herself in return.
"Nice to meet you Becky, I hope we can get along well and I look forward to working together with you!" said Karissa with a smile.
"Same with me Karissa!" said Becky smiling in return just happy to have Karissa on the team.
"Hey, it's nice to see you again!" greeted Caleb approaching Karver as the two grasped each other's hand in greeting as if they were already well acquainted.
"You too man!" said Karver returning the gesture.
"Karver, right?" said Caleb "Welcome to the team, I'm Caleb by the way" he said.
"Nice ta meet ya Cale." replied Karver.
"Oh, and uh, you already know Emmett here" said Caleb pointing a thumb at Emmett who remained stoic and calm.
Karver turned his sights on Emmett "Hey there, small world am I right?" he said.
"Yes…" uttered Emmett his left eyebrow twitching "Small world…" he said with a forced smile.
"What? You still upset about that thing we had back at the plaza?" he asked as he casually approached Emmett "Relax man, water under the bridge!" he said casually as he put an arm around his shoulder "We're teammates now, everythin's cool" he reassured him "Hope we can get along and work together" he said.
"Yes… I look forward to working with you…" said Emmett while slowly removing Karver's arm from his shoulder in a calm fashion.
"Ehehe, please forgive Karver, he can be a bit of a handful often times." said Karissa with a sweatdrop.
"Noted…" said Emmett still keeping his cool.
"Ehem!" said Cruger getting B-Squad's attention as they lined up "Glad to know that you're getting well acquainted with one another" he told them "Now back to matters at hand, now that all members of B-Squad have been assembled, there's a matter of utmost importance that I must inform all of you" he said.
'This is it…' thought Emmett finally getting to know the information that agitated his sister and her team.
"For the past few weeks, SPD has lost contact with a number of worlds from different dimensions" informed Cruger "It is believed that this was the work of a mysterious totalitarian military organization called Valhalla" he said "And they're all set on conquering all dimensions… including Eartheon" he said grimly.
B-Squad became shocked upon this revelation "Uh, sir…" said Caleb raising up a hand "When you said "conquer", does that mean, Eartheon will get invaded?" he asked.
"I did…" said Commander Cruger bluntly.
The team shared a few glances before turning back to their commander as he continued "And because of this, the Celestial Council caught wind of this and have dispatched the Celestial Nexus Patrol Alliance along with a few other celestial champion teams and allies to the frontlines to fight against this organization" he said.
"Sir… why inform us of this now?" asked Emmett.
"Because I wanted to prepare all of you for something big… something that'll change your lives forever…" said Cruger.
B-Squad pondered at this in confusion before Becky's eyes widened "Commander… you don't mean…?" she trailed off.
Commander Cruger just slowly nodded in response "Follow me…" he said before he proceeded to leave the command center with B-Squad following in toe.
We now go to Dr. Kat Manx' office/lab where we see Kat herself working on her computer while Boom was on standby. Kat currently wore a black long sleeve dress and skirt with the SPD initial badge on her upper right front and a pair of black boots while Boom wore his white shirt under his gray jumpsuit that was zipped halfway and as well as a gray open button up jacket with the SPD initial badge on the left pectoral area.
The doors to her office then slid open revealing Commander Cruger and as well as B-Squad entering the room as Cruger gestured B-Squad to line up while Kat stood up from her chair and walked over to Cruger and stood next to him.
"As you already know, a new enemy has arisen and the Celestial Council have taken action" said Cruger "Tenno one of the Celestial Gods of Adventure and one of our homeworld's four resident gods have informed me a few weeks prior to today that he along with his fellow gods of adventure are forming a new group to assist in the effort of stopping Valhalla" he informed "Cadet Graves, cadet Gonzáles, I know you've just transferred and are joining this team only now but due to the circumstances, this dictates that I elevate your team to active status" he informed surprising B-Squad albeit didn't show it "Any questions?" he asked.
"Uh, yeah just one sir" said Caleb "Are you saying that you've chosen us specifically to become part of the new group the gods of adventure are forming?" he asked.
"I did" replied Cruger bluntly surprising B-Squad even more.
"Huh… not long after transferring and we get promoted to active status" commented Karver "Cool…" he said.
"Yeah, we get it Karver" whispered Karissa.
"Cadets…" said Kat getting their attention "You've spent the last two years in simulated training…" she said "But this time… the game is real" she then turned to Boom who nodded and held up a glass tray containing six SPD Morphers but unlike A-Squad's Alpha Morphers, these had their color scheme in reverse; the morphers were rectangular shaped with a black body, white frame, two red sirens on the top corners, a gray button on the center top, a black slide switch on the right side and a black cover with white SPD initials on the left side and the words "change", "phone" and "judge" in white with red dots on the right side.
Boom approached Kat and presented it to her who took one of the morphers before the chief gadget tester turned to B-Squad and distributed the morphers to them "SPD Morphers…" said Kat presenting it to B-Squad "They are… without a doubt… your best friend" she said as each team member took one from Boom silently thanking him as they did so.
"They also serve as judgement scanners" informed Kat "They will assess the guilt or innocence of those who you take into custody" she explained before turning to Boom who put the tray down on the table.
"Boom…" she called out getting his attention "Guilty or innocent of eating the last slice of chocolate cake today?" questioned Kat with a smirk as she pressed the button of the morpher opening it.
"Me?" asked Boom nervously as the morpher made beeping noises as the sirens blinked while the scanner's screen blinked between the white circle dictating innocent which was at the bottom and the red ex dictating guilty which was at the top.
"I…" he said turning to his left, his hands in his pockets "I uh… Hahaha!" he said laughing nervously as he turned to B-Squad who were watching with various expressions mostly intrigue, expectancy and a bit of concern.
"No!" said Boom shaking his head in denial "No, no I didn't!" he said crossing his arms in finality.
"The scanner reads body temperature, pulse and electrical impulses and renders a verdict" explained Kat before the scanner stopped and flashed at the red ex as it made a last couple sounding beeps "Guilty" she said with a grin.
"But-!" protested Boom.
"And it does NOT. Make. Mistakes" emphasized Kat.
"Okay…" said Boom "I'm guilty!" he confessed "But it was JUST. A PIECE. OF CAKE!" he said hysterically.
Kat in response raised up the morpher and pointed it at Boom like a remote as the sirens lit up and sent a swirling red light as the swirling light hit Boom making him yelp in surprise before his whole being flashed and disappeared before it was replaced with a metal card as it fell to the ground.
The silver metal card had the SPD initials at the upper left corner, the words 'Containment Device' in capital letters at the lower right corner, a serial code with the words 'Guilty of' in capital letters above it and at the center was none other than Boom as he was looking outside the prison he was trapped in while touching the screen like part of the device. Boom ended up inside an SPD Containment Device which is also sometimes referred to as a Containment Card.
Seeing this shocked B-Squad.
"Whoa…" uttered out Caleb in surprise.
"You could say that again…" said Karver doing his best to suppress a laugh only to receive an elbow to his side from Karissa after noticing it.
"Okay~! Time to let Boom out now!" said Boom within the card as Kat walked over and picked up the card "This makes transportation of the detainee a none issue" explained Kat while revealing the back of the card having the SPD logo on it as Boom tried to call out to her.
"You are trained and now equipped" said Cruger "You are now the new B-Squad Power Rangers congratulations" he said.
"Yes!" exclaimed Caleb happily while he and Karver who had a smile on his face shared a high five while Karissa and Becky shared a double high-five with one another while saying "Alright!" as they laughed in elation and Emmett on the other hand remained calm but inside, he was elated that he was now a ranger just like his sister, although he wondered which color he was assigned to.
"B-Squad…" said Cruger getting their attention "In the next five days from now, you will be reassigned to Holy Grove Mansion where you'll receive special training" he said "Your training, as SPD cadets maybe over but your training, as dimension travelers has only just begun" he said surprising the group.
"Consider this a rare opportunity" said Cruger "As one of the few chosen teams that would form the new group made by the gods of adventure, you will receive the privilege of travelling and exploring the vast multiverse, searching and detaining any and all criminal alike while making new allies as your journey progresses" he said.
This made the newly appointed B-Squad power rangers excited "Now this has gotten interesting" said Karver in excitement.
"For the time being…" trailed off Cruger getting their attention "I suggest that you use this time to get to know one another better and train to readjust your teamwork until the day comes when it's time to head out for Holy Grove Mansion" he said.
"Sir, yes sir!" saluted B-Squad.
"Dismissed" said Cruger as the team saluted before proceeding outside the room as they began to chat amongst each other.
Cruger turned to Kat and nodded, the head of SPD Tech nodding in return before the commander of SPD left.
Kat returned to her seat and went back to work as she put Boom's containment card next to her, all the while the poor chief gadget tester kept calling out to be let out and even swearing to never eat chocolate cake again.
And so, during the following five days, B-Squad got to know one another and trained together to readjust their teamwork, the two new members were even assigned to share a room with two of the other members, Karissa was assigned to share a room with Becky much to both of their delight while Karver on the other hand had to share a room with Emmett much to the latter's chagrin. B-Squad even got to celebrate their promotion to rangers by eating out on an eatery and even A-Squad got to join in on the celebration and both squads got to know one another, Paige even congratulated her brother in becoming a ranger and even told him how proud she was of him making him flustered at that much to everyone's amusement.
Date: May 3026 (Wednesday)
Time: 9 AM (US Time)
It was another morning in Concordia city, citizens were doing their usual routines and everything was proceeding like normal.
At SPD command center, everyone was doing their usual routines when all of a sudden, an alarm sounded getting everyone's attention.
"Sir! There seems to be a spike of dimensional energy detected in one of the suburban areas of the city!" reported an officer.
"It seems like something's transporting itself over there judging by the energy readings." said another officer.
"Can you pinpoint the exact location of the dimension spike?" questioned Commander Cruger.
The first officer typed on the terminal he was working on before pinpointing the location "Sir! The location is at Holy Grove Mansion sir!" he reported shocking just about almost everyone present.
Commander Cruger narrowed his eyes before saying "Send our best scout" he ordered.
A few minutes later...
We now go to one of the suburban areas of Concordia where up in the skies we see a huge flying vehicle patrolling the skies.
Said vehicle was a futuristic looking gyrocopter with a blue body with hints of silver, some white at the top part, a black number 2 on the top of the nose, the SPD logo on the side of the front part, a black front nose, three wheels; two at the rear and one at the front below the nose with a headlight on it, a V-shaped windshield with a white line in the center, two silver fins facing upwards on either sides of the rear, two blue and silver gyro engines on either sides with the SPD initials on a the center od the top and a red angular T-shaped siren at the top rear area of the vehicle. This was Delta Runner 2, also known as the Blue Delta Runner.
Inside the cockpit we see none other than Joey Hollard who was currently in his ranger form seated and strapped to the cockpit's seat by a four-strap seatbelt while holding the controls of the flying Delta Runner which was a control stick.
"This is A-Squad Blue Ranger arriving at coordinates" said A-Squad Blue as the Blue Delta Runner arrived just above Holy Grove Mansion "I am hovering directly above Holy Grove Mansion and am now searching for the source of the dimensional disturbance copy" he said as he waited for a response.
"Affirmative Hollard, report if you see anything unusual" replied the voice of a Commander Cruger.
"Copy that commander" said A-Squad Blue as he flew the Blue Delta Runner down in search of the source of the dimensional energy spike. A-Squad Blue looked around the area when he suddenly saw some kind of spark appear on an empty space next to Holy Grove Mansion.
"Hah?" he uttered upon seeing the spark.
Another spark appeared again and then another and then a couple more.
"Anong nangyare dyan? (What's happening over there?)" muttered A-Squad Blue in Tagalog narrowing his eyes upon seeing the continuous sparks.
Suddenly, a huge blue swirling portal appeared surprising A-Squad Blue.
"What the?!" he exclaimed in shock.
Back at SPD's Command center, Commander Cruger waited for any word from A-Squad Blue and currently with him were Kat, Boom, the rest of A-Squad and B-Squad as well, the latter group already filled in on the situation.
"Blue Ranger to base, a portal has suddenly appeared at the premises of Holy Grove Mansion!" he reported alarming everyone.
"Corporal Hollard! Is there anything coming out of the portal?!" questioned Cruger.
"Nothing yet sir…" reported A-Squad Blue "Wait!" he said as everyone listened "The portal seems to be rising up and something's coming out of the bottom…" he reported "It looks like a… it looks like a mansion!" he said.
"A mansion you say?" said Cruger.
"Affirmative sir!" confirmed A-Squad Blue "And judging by the appearance it looks like it's Japanese" he added.
This got Cruger's attention "Can you send a visual?" he asked.
"Yes sir" responded A-Squad Blue "Sending visual now" he said and a holographic screen appeared at the central terminal of the command center as everyone got a good look at what the Blue Delta Runner's seeing.
On the screen in the place of the empty space next to Holy Grove Mansion was a Japanese style two story mansion, it wasn't as big as the former but big none the less and it had a mix of traditional and modern theme to it and it had areas with gardens and even some training areas and it was surrounded by a wall with three gates on it and what stood out about the mansion was a crest and it was a mix of the Maru ni tachibana and the crest commonly known as the Shiba symbol, the latter symbol located on the center of the flower of the tachibana crest.
Upon seeing the crest, Cruger's eyes widened "The Shiba-Tachibana crest!" he exclaimed recognizing the crest.
"You know that crest sir?" asked Paige turning to her commander.
"I do lieutenant Thornton" nodded Cruger in confirmation before turning his attention back to the comms.
"Commander Cruger sir, I've scanned the vicinity and have detected a number of life signs inside, a certain number of them are emitting various energy signatures, most of them having Morphin Grid Energy, all being that of Rider Grid Energy, Ranger Grid Energy and Sentai Grid Energy but none of them are determined as hostile" reported A-Squad Blue "Awaiting further instructions sir" he requested.
"Corporal Hollard, false alarm, all the residences in the mansion are allies to Concordia city, return to base immediately" order Commander Cruger.
"Sir, yes sir" responded A-Squad Blue "Returning to base immediately, over and out" and with that, communications ended as everyone in the command center sighed in relief.
"B-Squad…" said Commander Cruger getting said Squad's attention and even A-Squad's attention "Prepare to depart for Holy Grove Mansion" he said "It's time that you meet your fellow allies in the Celestial Gods of Adventure's new dimension traveling task force" he told them.
"Well, well, well… what a splendid chapter we have here" spoke the voice of Chron "Greetings readers, it's me Chron and in this chapter we're introduced to quite the number of characters" he said.
"Ooh~! And they're quite the interesting group, aren't they?" said the voice of Tassel.
"Indeed, my friend and it seems they've been chosen to become part of Tenno and his fellow gods of Adventure's special team." said Chron.
"But… what was with that mansion that appeared all of a sudden at the end? What does Cruger know about it?" questioned Tassel.
"I'm sure all of you readers are asking the same thing, aren't you?" said Chron.
"Well, I'm afraid you'll all have to find out on the next chapter, so stay tuned!" he said.
"Mata ne~!" said Tassel's voice.

Welcome to the year 2024 everyone!
To start things off, I've finished my first chapter of the year, it took awhile but I finally finished it after some delay.
In this chapter we're introduced to the members of Space Patrol Delta's B-Squad with Emmett Thornton being the younger brother of Paige Thornton the A-Squad Red Ranger. Of course, we get to see Kat and Commander Doggie Cruger again and we're introduced to the lovable Chief Gadget Tester Boom! We get to even see some action of B-Squad taking on some robbers/thieves with a little help from fellow cadets who became there new teammates later on and although Emmett had a not so good first impression with Karver Graves, Becky Ross and Karissa Gonzáles hit it off quite well and not long after, Commander Cruger elevates the group to active status thus becoming the new B-Squad Power Rangers AKA the Main SPD Rangers while being chosen to become part of an even bigger group and at the end, something peculiar appeared near the Celestial Gods of Adventure's home.
Now I'm sure you're wondering… who could be in the mansion?
You'll have to find out on the next chapter, for on the next one, I'll be introducing the remainder of the main heroes of this story, who they are is kinda hinted but you'll have to wait and see, so stay tuned!
