Shota Aizawa was not having a good day, he was already a couple weeks away from the new school year and had to prepare his class schedule after the results of the entrance exam where finalized but this was normal stress, his mind was occupied by other news
His fellow teachers were in the meeting room discussing the upcoming school year
Shota, you seem to have something on your mind, you have yet to chime in
Shota was taken off his train of thought and looked toward his boss, principle Nezu of U.A. hero school, sighing Shota decided to share his concerns with his colleagues
"About two months ago some chatter began to make its way around the hero network, apparently some underground heroes have gone dark"
"It can't be too bad, it's pretty common for underground heroes to go silent for long periods of time so they can go undercover, only reason we see you all the time is because you work here" Ms Midnight says leaning against the table
"That's not the issue, i've been getting intel from underground reports in america…" he gets cut off by his loud friend and colleague Present Mic.
"What could be going on in america that's got you all unfocused"
"If you let me finish you'll know what I was saying, two months ago news was spread that approximately twenty underground heroes went dark six months prior to that and have yet to resurface. The known information is that each of the twenty were investigating alarming rumors that had been spreading around the states and even some parts of canada that border the United States usually areas where trigger is smuggled, the rumors had spread for a month before they went dark"
"What were the rumors and how does that affect the pros here in Japan" the hero and fellow teacher at U.A. Vlad King asks.
"The rumors were all about different things, drugs, money, weapons, but it's the fact that each rumor had the same designated dates for when the meetings took place for anyone who wanted to see if it was true, they all correspond on the same night eight months ago and it's only two months ago that the heroes pieced this together."
"This is all rather concerning, but this is all in America, why are you so invested' Vlad King asked.
"Because similar rumors have started to pop up here" Shota responded.
All the heroes blanched at what Aizawa was implying, it was clear that some organized force was operating in America and seemingly took down twenty pro heroes. Now whatever organization spread the rumors were now here in Japan, Nezu put his paws together as he began to think. Clearly this was an organized force making moves in the shadows.
"Thank you for this info, Shota, I had not heard of this yet, but I will keep my eye on it, now, shall we continue with our meeting."
Izuku Midorya was the happiest he had been probably in his entire life as he lifted weights in the living room of his apartment, he had been accepted into U.A. after receiving one for all, the quirk of his idol and the number one hero All Might. His mom was making dinner while he watched the news to catch any villain attacks so he can catch any hero fights
"Breaking news a new villain has appeared in Kamino ward"
Izuku sat down drawing his attention to the TV as his mother came in and brought him his dinner
"About five minutes ago heroes responded to the scene of a villain robbing a bank, we had to move away to keep from getting caught in the crossfire but we are confident the heroes will handle this villain swiftly"
Just as the reporter says this a explosion erupts from the building in shot behind her as several pro heroes, judging by their costumes, come flying out injured, as the camera turns to the giant broken wall where the explosion came from a massive hulk of a man who probably stood around 12 feet tall stepped out carrying something, the villain appears to be made of stone.
"The villain seems to have defeated the heroes, oh my God is that the bank vault."
Panning up the camera seems to show the bank vault as the villain lifts it over his shoulders with no problem. The villain seems to stare right at the camera and the reporter before getting up and walking away, as the heroes get up and shout for the villain to stop to no avail. Out of nowhere a white flash of white appears as a new hero appears kicking the villains hand forcing him to drop the vault
"Stop right there villain, I, Ingenium place you under arrest"
"Oh thank goodness, the pro hero Ingenium has arrived to put a stop to this villain" the reporter cheers as do nearby civilians watching the battle.
Izuku is geeking out about the arrival of pro hero Ingenium as he writes in his notebook everything he can about the villain and his quirk
"He seems to be made of stone, maybe concrete, which seems to give him enhanced strength, plus he's big, not as big as Mt Lady but definitely bigger than All Might, does he absorb concrete to grow stronger, or is he heteromorphic and just looks like that instead of making cement armor…" Izuku mutters watching the fight.
The villain just looks at Ingenium with disinterest before reaching to grab the vault again. Ingenium moves quickly to aim for his head and knock the villain out, but it barely does anything as the villain backhands him into a wall before grabbing the vault and marching into an alley way out of sight. Ingenium rushes to the alley only to find it completely empty.
"Impossible there's no way he could have escaped so easily."
"I don't believe it folks the villain seems to have escaped after putting two pro heroes in critical condition, Ingenium what do you have to say after letting the villain escape, your one of the fastest heroes around after all, how could you not catch them."
"I assure you the villain won't roam free for long, I will also have sidekicks at my agency out looking for him."
"Oh that's terrible, I hope they catch that villain soon he seems dangerous" Izuku's mother, Inko Midoriya commented.
Izuku was surprised, it was very rare for any villain to escape and not be captured by the heroes. The villain had stolen an entire bank vault ripped right from the building, lots of people trusted the banks with their money so a lot of people were going to be affected as the villain just stole most of it. Izuku hoped the villain would be caught soon as he went off to bed.
On the outskirts of Kamino ward in a deserted alley, the shadows casted by moonlight shifted and grew before two figures walked out of them. One the villain from the bank the other a man in a black trench coat
"Cinderblock when we told you to rob a bank, we didn't mean one in the middle of the city. More around the edge" Shade says looking at Cinderblock who doesn't respond but looks to the side. Shade could tell he was embarrassed
"Well, I guess this still works out, I'll take the vault back with me, we can use the money should we ever need it, you wander around for a while. The intel our shadows gathered said someone was recruiting low grade villains for a job so, hopefully with this little outing and camera coverage of you beating the heroes they'll want to recruit you" the vault begins to sink into the ground as does Shade. "I know you like your silence but you'll need to communicate with whoever hires you, they probably won't be able to read you like we can. Ta ta" Cinderblock nods as Shade disappears before Cinderblock began to wander around
It was just a few hours later when something new happened. It wasn't quite daybreak yet, a lot of citizens were still asleep unaware of the encounter about to take place. Cinderblock was moving with no desired location waiting to be found by the villain rumored to be recruiting others, if the info the shadows collected was right, which they usually are, this will lead his associates directly to one of the big bads of japan. His mission was to garner attention and join with the villain recruiter then be taken to whos in charge
"My you sure are a big fella"
Cinderblock turned to the voice to see at the end of the alley he was a man in a purple suit and glasses leaning against the wall smoking a cigarette
"The names Giran and I must say that stunt you pulled earlier tonight was something. Beat two heroes completely and managed to evade another, I'll cut to the chase, I'm here to offer you a deal. I have a customer who's looking to recruit fellas like you for a job there planning, whaddya say?"
CInderblock said nothing and just stared at the man. Giran however wasn't put off by this and rolled with it
"Silent type eh, no biggie, a simple nod or shake will do so here's the job. My customer is looking for anyone who wants a crack at some heroes and is planning an attack on some prominent heroes. So you in or do you need a little more incentive?" Giran said as he began to smoke his cigarette
Cinderblock continued to stare before nodding his head. Giran smiled at the confirmation.
"Well now that that's settled i'll lead you to my customer, lucky for you there in the city as well"
Giran led Cinderblock through back allies through black allies for a while before they finally stopped in front of a small bar, it wasn't much but maybe it was like the legion of dooms or the brotherhood's secret bases. Small and unassuming to the point no one would glance at it only for it to be a massive secret lair or laboratory. Cinderblock was told that the group he was infiltrating had some secret figure pulling its strings, much like how the Brain was coordinating everything between the legion of doom, HIVE, the league of shadows, anyone acting as independent agents and of course the Brain's own brotherhood
Giran walked through the door while Cinderblock stayed outside, and from what he could see, he was not going to fit. Giran held the door open and seemed to be talking to someone out of sight but what Cinderblock could see was a small dingy old bar. Cinderblock was not impressed
Giran stepped out of the doorway as a new person stepped into view. They wore a rather nice suit though their head and hands seemed to be made of purple and black fog
"Alright big guy, this is the customer i was talking about, meet Kurogiri" Kurogiri stared at the massive stone man in front of him and believed that he was the best of the minor villains that they had recruited thus far.
"Greetings, you have come to join our crusade against the heroes?" Kurogiri watched the stone man nod his head
"He's not much of a talker but he will definitely provide some muscle, apparently he robbed a bank earlier tonight and stole the whole vault" Giran remarked
"How intriguing, yes your strength will definitely be useful to us. Allow me to move this conversation elsewhere"
"As Kurogiri says this a purple and black portal formed next to them before Kurogiri walked through having Cinderblock and Giran follow. They emerge in a large warehouse filled with other people. All of them were minor villains recruited for a job like Cinderblock
"This is where you'll stay for the next few weeks before our operation begins" Cinderblock just nodded before moving over to sit against the wall as Kurogiri and Giran left. Some of the villains tried to speak to him but Cinderblock ignored them. This is where he sat for weeks watching more villains brought in before the day of the operation. During that whole time Cinderblock didn't move an inch as the villains just chose to ignore him.
Finally it was the day. Kurogiri appeared before all the villains with a new person by his side covered in severed hands and a massive creature with an exposed brain and a beak mouth. The boy, Cinderblock realized based on how young he was, called himself Tomura Shigaraki and claimed he was in charge. Kurogiri then opened a large warp gate that Shigaraki and the creature with the exposed brain walked through, the villains didn't really question this as many began to walk through the gate as well
Cinderblock got up and walked towards the gate, his imposing figure made the other villains move out his way, as Cinderblock enters the gate, he activated a hidden device he had before stepping through.
In an undisclosed location the Brain was conversing with the other members of the light.
"Our progress on this world has gone according to plan, the establishment of the legion of doom has proved most fruitful. In a world oversaturated with heroes there are just as many villains for us to use. Thousands have joined the legion and while many of their meta abilities can be sub par we have been able to enhance or supplement them with our own resources." the Brain said
Vandal smiled at the progress "excellent, with so many members its expected that some will be of different ranks of power and ability"
"That's not to mention the number of non-metas who also joined, many have been eager to get their hands on the technology present at our showcases" Queen Bee added
"Not every, quirkless, in their worlds terms, was inducted into the legion though. How has the training under bronze tiger gone?" Deathstroke questioned
"Exceedingly well, bronze tiger has trained over 800 non-metas and a handful of metas with weak quirks to the acceptable level the league of shadows requires. We have broken any biases previously held after many of our shadows showcased their new skill to our quirked members by having them best the members with some of the best quirks'' the Brain responded
Deathstroke hummed pleased by the information
"What of the new science divisions" Luthor asked
"Combined with our own technologies we've made a few more breakthroughs, and have once again proven to the people of this world that quirks are not everything. There is of note the floating science facility known as i-island where the greatest technologies of this world are created but plans have been made to see if they truly have anything we possibly could not" the Brain responded
"I'll be impressed if they have anything not related to heroes or quirks" Luthor couldn't help but chuckle upon saying the word quirks "such a ridiculous name"
"How have the new students of hive academy come along, Brain?" Queen Bee asked curiously
"There have been some setbacks, but nothing brother blood could not take care of. In other related news Cinderblock infiltrated the new villain group in japan who call themselves the league of the villains. The information collected by the shadows were correct and Cinderblock has activated his homing beacon. This league has apparently launched an attack on the hero school known as U.A.
"How interesting, hmm, Brain send the hives top class, Alpha-1 to help Cinderblock."
The other members of the light were brought to attention by Bee's words. Klarion who was previously not paying attention sat up in his chair. The words being said promised chaos and upheaval, even Vandal was intrigued, seeing where Queen Bee was going.
"You wish for hive academy to go public on this earth."
"Yes, it will cause a large new distraction for the heroes of this world, allowing our more important assets to slip further into the shadows."
"The idea of a villain school will cause great change in their society, one that we can take advantage of." Queen Bee added
"Yes, i will inform Brother Blood of these new plans" Brain stated "it will certainly be interesting to see if the young heroes of this world can stand against us in the same manner the titans and other young heroes of our world can"
"We must move carefully and not underestimate them, young heroes have disrupted our plans before, Kaldur'ahm and Grayson as well as the others have always been thorns in our side. Best not let it happen again." Vandal declared
The members of the light began to sign off leaving only the Brain and Vandal
"Look into the hero schools, we've seen what young heroes can do, i want to know of any that might be a threat" Vandal said
"It will be done, this world will see our light" Brain said as he and Vandal signed off
