Inside a small bar, Tomura Shigaraki and Kurogiri were watching the news talk about the events that had taken place within the past couple of hours, Shigaraki was still in pain from his broken ribs despite being patched up by Kurogiri and was scratching his neck furiously, visibly frustrated as he listened to the news anchor speak.
"The attack at the U.A. training facility seemed to originally be the work of a group of small-time villains, however, it is during this that the separate group of villains from the supposed villain school, Hive Academy, known as class Alpha-1 launched an attack of their own, beating and even killing some of the small-time villains before proceeding to take on and beat the first year students of U.A. It was then that All Might arrived where he faced villains of both groups who had tremendous strength, one villain who was a member of Alpha-1 who had a hairy appearance, the other a person from the unknown ragtag group of villains who appeared to have a beak mouth and an exposed brain."
"Both of these villains as well as the number one hero and symbol of peace all fought each other, however it was then that an explosive device was shot into the back of the neck by the young villain who calls himself Gizmo. It was then that the members of Alpha-1 retreated as the creature continued to attack All Might until a blinding explosion emerged from the device on the creatures neck swallowing both the creature and All Might."
"When the dust settled it was revealed that All Might was significantly injured in the explosion and the creature was completely obliterated, which seemed to upset the leader of this ragtag group of villains, unfortunately for him however, he was met by a fist to the chest from the powerful hairy villain of Alpha-1 and may have possibly suffered broken ribs before escaping with another villain who appeared to be made of purple mist and seemingly had a warp quirk, after this minor skirmish the villains of Alpha-1 proceeded to defeat All Might and the other heroes, currently people across Japan are panicking and concerned if we can continue to count on heroes. Right now, we can only pray that the heroes are able to keep us safe during such trying times."
Upon hearing this Shigaraki picked up a glass and threw it to the wall, however before it managed to hit the wall it turned into dust.
"Those fucking cheaters! They stole my kill! I should have been the one to kill All Might! I should have been the one to be getting praise! But these assholes came out of nowhere and stole the spotlight from me! They humiliated me and Nomu! Those little brats! I hate them! I want to turn them into dust! And that damn traitor! This is all that walking brick's fault!" Shigaraki growled in anger.
It was then that a menacing sounding voice seemed to come from a monitor with the word's audio only on it.
"Patience Shigaraki, while our operation did not go as planned, we still learned quite a lot, whoever these people are they have greatly exceeded my expectations and for that I must applaud them, not only did they defeat All Might, but they showed his true form, they humiliated him in front of the world, and for them to be children no less is even more impressive. And to top it off they beat the rest of the heroes who came to rescue All Might and those children, they humiliated them for all of Japan to see, and now the whole world is talking about All Might's failure, and many are beginning to question if the heroes they care so much about are actually capable of protecting them."
It was then that another voice chimed in "while I am upset by the loss of Nomu, I am also very intrigued by what I saw, that self-proclaimed boy genius had such remarkable technology, not just him though, many of the children displayed remarkable technology. the fact that the boy was not only able to kill Nomu and severely injure All Might, but was even capable of killing a pro hero, with just that little backpack of his, I'd love to see more of the technologies the students of this Hive Academy are being provided."
"Indeed, those kids are certainly talented, it makes me wonder just what they have been learning at this Hive Academy, I most certainly would love to know more" the first voice added.
The second voice then chimed in "Perhaps they also have something to do with these rumors of new drugs, weapons, and even ways to kill the heroes that have been floating around recently."
The first voice then spoke again. "Possibly, Tomura Shigaraki, I understand your frustration, and you may be very reluctant to what I am about to tell you, but I believe that these individuals would do better to us as assets rather than enemies, try and figure out what you can about them while it is possible that they could very well become competitors there is also the likelihood that they could become valuable allies as well if we play our cards right."
"But master! They ruined my plan! And look at what they did to me! I want to kill them! Not work with them! They stole my spotlight" Shigaraki growled.
"And you could have the chance to utilize them, you will get your revenge in time, but first we need to start by learning more about them, after all it is wise to keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer, if you could make yourself appear as a capable ally you can learn more about them, they mocked and ridiculed you, but I believe you are capable of forcing them to respect you. I advise you to at least give it some thought, it would also be wise to gather the villainous elite, I must remain hidden in the shadows which is why I need you to be my face, a symbol of your own, Tomura Shigaraki, next time you will show the world that it should be afraid of you"
Back at the hospital, All Might introduced Izuku to detective Tsukauchi, the detective and Nezu explained to All Might what had happened from the time he was knocked unconscious by the villains to the time he had woken up from his surgery.
All Might was devastated to learn what had happened, to learn that not only had he been defeated for the whole world to see, but so were his fellow colleagues, one of whom was killed, and others possibly having to retire due to the injuries they sustained, he was horrified to learn of Powerloader's death and the manner in which he died, as well as the widespread panic his defeat caused, he also felt terrible upon finding out Mineta was leaving U.A. though he hoped he would sleep on it and change his mind.
"How could I allow this to happen, they came prepared, they knew about my injury, but how is that possible, unless it was..." All Might paused as he clenched his fist and grit his teeth
"we can't be sure it's too early in the investigation to actually tell rather or not it was not connected to who you are thinking of, we detected a cyber infiltration in the hospitals digital mainframe, the hero public safety commission digital mainframe, and the U.A. digital mainframe, they had info on all the staff at U.A. the students, and you, not to mention all the various documents they stole from the hero public safety commission, this is most likely how they learned of your injury." Tsukauchi said.
All Might eased up slightly upon hearing this, but it still did not make things much better, if anything it just brought about more questions.
Izuku pondered on who All Might, and the detective were thinking about but decided to hold his questions for the time being.
"As for the so called league of villains, we arrested all of those who were involved in the attack apart from three, that being the villain with the warp quirk, the apparent leader of the group, and the one made of stone, if you can even consider him a member seeing as how he was most likely acting as a double agent for Hive Academy, he was also the suspect for a bank robbery in Kamino ward not long ago, this is the second time he's managed to escape." the detective said
"We have yet to release a public statement on the attack, we must be prepared for the inevitable press conference, the eyes of the entire world are on us right now, we will also have to ease the minds of parents who will be concerned" Nezu said with his smile going away as he now wore a look that made it hard to tell what he was thinking.
All Might sighed "yea, unfortunately I don't think I will be able to continue doing hero work, they did a number on me, especially with that large ice shard that villain shot right into my wound. Not to mention even if I can keep my form up the whole world knows about my weakness now."
Izuku frowned at this, he knew after the battle that would be pretty much inevitable, he was just fortunate that All Might survived.
"What about that creature that was with the league of villains, that thing was strong, in fact it was able to match my strength and arguably gave me a harder time then that villain who was with Hive Academy" All Might asked.
"About that, we are currently trying to identify who he is, since most of his body was destroyed in the blast it will take some time" Detective Tsukauchi said.
"We are doing everything we can to learn as much about both groups as quick as we can, particularly this so-called Hive Academy, if what they said was true then they will be looking for kids to enroll, probably will consists mostly of disgruntled teenagers or kids being forced in by their parents who are likely villains themselves."
"It also goes without saying that those kids are being taught well as far as honing their skills goes, as well as their teamwork, I rewatched the footage and whatever they are being taught there is remarkable, it's unfortunate that those young minds are being exploited for villainy instead of being steered on the right path" Nezu said.
"Do we know exactly how they plan on recruiting? I mean it's not like they're just going to have a school out in the open, they'll most likely try and enroll people covertly" All Might said.
"We have everyone looking into it, from the police to every pro hero from Endeavor to underground heroes" Tsukauchi responded.
It was then that Izuku spoke up "I remember during the attack, the villain me Tsu and Mineta faced at the shipwreck zone had said something peculiar."
Everyone turned to look at Izuku with interest.
"He claimed he was testing us to see if we were a threat."
"But that's not all he said, when I hit him, he claimed that I was strong enough to be considered a person of interest, on top of that he also said that wasn't the hardest he had been hit before, he said he has also been hit by a Tamaranean and a Kryptonian, neither of which are people or terms I have heard of before, no telling what that could mean"
Everyone took in what Izuku said and there was a brief moment of silence before All Might spoke up.
"Tamarnean? Kryptonian? Are those heroes?" All Might asked curiously.
"I've never heard of such heroes, maybe they are heroes from a different country, I remember this from the report actually, I will see what I can dig up on that, they could possibly be villains too or even a codename for something." Tsukauchi commented.
"It could be some kind of device or weapon; with the technology that young villain Gizmo had it would not be absurd to assume that it could be a codename for some kind of weapon." All Might mused.
"The truth is we don't know, and that is what concerns me." Nezu added.
"What makes it more concerning is that they are scouting for potential threats despite the fact that you all are only heroes in training." Tsukauchi said with a look of worry on his face.
"Yes, this is most certainly concerning, and we do not know what their plans are so for now we must take precaution." Nezu said.
"It should also be noted that when Eraserhead stared at the villain with the gigantification quirk, his quirk did not deactivate, the same goes for the villain with the strenghth quirk who is called Mammoth, and that begs several questions on its own" Tsukauchi commented.
"But how could that be possible? I thought Eraserhead could erase quirks like those" All Might asked visibly worried by that fact.
"If they have a way to negate Eraserheads quirk than this can prove to be a big problem" Tsukauchi said.
"We will have to do a more official meeting once everyone recovers enough, I am just fortunate that you are still with us All Might" Nezu said.
"Yeah, for now you should get some rest All Might, I can take Midoriya home, and I'll be sure to have police patrols increased around the homes of the students, we do not know what they intend to do with those that they have marked as people of interest."
"Are you sure All Might? I can stay." Izuku said.
"No need to worry about me young Midoriya, you should head home and get some rest, you have had a very rough day" All Might said before patting Izuku on the shoulder.
Izuku then nodded before leaving with detective Tsukauchi.
Upon exiting the hospital Izuku and the detective are bombarded by reporters, as Izuku covers his eyes from the flashes of cameras.
"What can you tell us about the Attack on the school?"
"Are you concerned about the safety and security of U.A. high following the attack?"
"Do you know about All Might's current condition?"
"Is it true that the pro hero Eraserhead's quirk failed to work against one of the students of Hive Academy?"
"What do you have to say about you and your classmates failing to aid All Might and your other teachers against the attack?"
"Were you aware of the apparent weakness All Might had?"
"Are the rumors of a U.A. student quitting the hero coarse true?"
"Will any other students quit the hero course as well? Did the words of the young woman from Alpha-1 make you and your classmates consider leaving the U.A. high?"
The police keep the reporters back as detective Tsukauchi and Izuku enter the unmarked police car and drive off as they head to Izuku's apartment.
Upon getting home Izuku is embraced by his mother as she begins to cry.
"Izuku! I was so worried" she said as he hugged her back before reassuring her.
"I'm fine mom, I'm fine."
Todoroki had just arrived home and was embraced in a tight hug by a woman with glasses, and white hair with certain parts of her hair being red.
"There you are Shoto, I was so worried about you, I'm so sorry about what happened" the girl said with a worried look on her face.
"I'm fine sis" Shoto responded.
"I saw the footage, I'm sorry about what happened to your teachers and your classmates, are they ok?" his sister asked.
"Yeah my classmates are a bit banged up, but they should be fine, as for the teachers well.." Shoto was cut off by the sound of a loud boom which caused Shoto's sister to flinch.
"He's been like that ever since he got home, feel free to go say high" she said looking off in the direction the booms came from
Shoto proceeded to walk down the hall toward the training room in his house.
'If All Might can't be the hero he once was anymore than the number one spot, is finally my fathers.'
Shoto approaches the training room and thinks back to the brutal training his dad would put him through when he was younger before he peaks inside the cracked door to the training room.
Inside the training room was the number two hero of Japan, Endeavor, small fires were scattered across the room with broken training equipment also scattered across the room, and a giant dent in the wall covered with cracks.
Endeavor was sitting in the back of the room facing the wall, he had on simple training clothes and a look of pure rage across his face.
"I don't accept it! Not like this! I should've earned it myself! Not by him failing! And to children no less!" Endeavor growled out in pure anger.
Shoto sighed before walking to his room as he walked he couldn't help but think of the events that unfolded earlier, he thought of one villain in particular, Holocaust, his flames were extremely powerful, and as much as he hated to admit it, they were on par with his father's flames, and then there was the other villain, Frostbite, his ice was Much better than his own, and on top of that he was very annoying, the guy just would not shut up.
and on top of that, his dad was so self-absorbed in his pride and ego that he didn't even realize he was home or bother to ask if he was alright following an attack that killed one pro and injured several others including All Might.
Shoto decided to get some sleep for the day, it had been getting late anyway and the stress of the day's events had made him rather tired.
Katsuki Bakugo had arrived home with his arm still in a sling, to find his mom and dad.
"Katsuki, I'm glad you're alright, how is your arm?"
"It's fine" he said as he looked down not making eye contact with his father.
"Oh, don't coddle him!" Katsuki's mother said as she hit him over the head.
"DAMN IT YOU HAG!" Katsuki shouted as the two began to argue.
"You wouldn't have gotten hurt if you hadn't underestimated your opponent! Now everyone will know you as the dumb idiot who got his arm broken on live TV for all of Japan to see!" his mother said.
Before Katsuki could yell at his mother again, she spoke again. "Nonetheless I'm still glad you're ok." she said seemingly calming down in an instant.
"Tch, whatever" Katsuki growled as he made his way to his room with a scowl still present on his face.
Once he got in his room, he made his way to his bed and laid there thinking about everything that happened.
He still was unable to wrap his head around the idea of All Might losing to some kids, some around his age, others a bit older, one apparently much younger, he had only been informed about it through Kirishima when he woke up in the hospital, his arm was broken, that fucking villain had broken his arm.
He remembered how quick he moved, how he pinned him to the ground as he was about to release another explosion and before he even registered, he was on the ground his arm was snapped as he released the blast which he witnessed hit Kirishima, before he was hit in the temple and knocked out.
the worst part about it through and arguably the least believable part of the whole ordeal was the fact that apparently the villain told Kirishima that he was quirkless, there was no way a guy who could move like that and do that to him was quirkless.
He couldn't believe how fast the villain was, he couldn't believe that he was rendered completely useless during the remainder of the attack, he couldn't believe that these guys somehow beat All Might, the idea of it was unthinkable, but when he saw him in that hospital bed it made him freeze and question his own reality.
'That was All Might? That was what those bastards were able to reduce him to? But that's not possible? No, no it can't be, that couldn't have been him, I don't care what those extras say.'
Katsuki got up and made his way to his computer at his desk and turned it on, going on the internet to find the video that if what Kirishima said was true had been broadcasted all across Japan, it would definitely be on the internet by now and it did not take long to find as it was the first video that popped up on his computer.
It already had over a billion views and everyone across the world was talking about what had happened, he clicked on the video and watched the full thing, the announcement of the Narrator, the pictures of each of the Alpha-1 students.
He continued to watch, watching as they one by one took all the students out, he then watched the fight between himself, Kirishima and the villain, he watched the footage as the memory replayed in his mind simultaneously.
He then watched Kirishima get taken out, being binded up by those x shaped projectiles the villain shot from his hands.
He then proceeded to watch the others get taken out, he saw the boat Deku and those other extras were in get thrown across the facility by that giant alien looking guy, not to mention everyone else being defeated.
He kept watching as they defeated Aizawa as well and then All Might arrived, part of him couldn't help but get excited, it was like he was a kid again watching the videos of All Might beat villains and save people, but it also made him nervous, did they actually beat all Might? he wouldn't believe it until he saw it for himself.
Katsuki continued through the video as that beak mouth creature with the expose brain and the large villain who appeared to act as muscle for the Hive both traded blows with each other and All Might, he then watched as Gizmo used Nomu as a weapon to damage both All Might and the Nomu, he then watched as All Might was visibly injured, watched as he tried his best but was thwarted at practically every turn, how a large ice shard hit his exposed wound and how the bottom half was sticking out of him.
Katsuki watched in absolute shock as All Might was beaten down and defeated by the Hive, he then listened to Jinx talk, and he gritted his teeth and clenched his fist.
It was then that the video showed the principle and other heroes arrive only to look shocked and horrified to see a battered and bloodied All Might being raised in the air by Mammoth as some sort of trophy.
Katsuki watched now in utter bafflement and disbelief after seeing what they had done to All Might as they effortlessly beat the teachers, he then watched as Powerloader went underground and Gizmo shot several drill-like projectiles into the ground before several explosions rocked the facility moments later, even shaking the camera.
It was then that he realized that was the moment when Powerloader died, these bastards actually managed to kill a pro hero.
He then listened as Jinx gave her final speech which made Katsuki's blood boil 'those bastards, those bastards will pay for this.'
Katsuki then shut his computer off 'if I had been awake could I have... No, I would have just gotten in All Might's way, but if I hadn't been so weak and gotten knocked out, I could have made it so All Might never needed to save us, but if All Might couldn't beat them, could I?'
Katsuki shook his head at the thought and decided it would be best to get some sleep.
Elsewhere as the sun set and it became nighttime a girl with blonde hair done up in buns and wearing a schoolgirl uniform was currently heading to an abandoned warehouse while looking at a gps on her phone, following the Hive debut, she instantly knew that she just had to join, the words and actions of that pink haired girl had inspired her.
She had gone to every villain contact she had which really wasn't a lot but managed to get a lead from one of them, apparently these coordinates are where she is supposed to go in order to enroll into this villain school.
Upon arriving at the location, she looks to see a small, abandoned warehouse, she finds that the backdoor is open, and she walks in to find several other individuals, some look around her age and others appear to be younger.
"Oh, look another, I assume you want to join after seeing what those guys did to All Might and those stupid pro heroes as well."
Looking over at the person who just spoke, the blonde-haired girl took note of his appearance, he was a small skinny young boy with wavy light brown hair and brown eyes and wore a junior high school uniform.
The girl looks at him before speaking up "Oh me? Yeah, life is too hard in this dumb world, I just want to go somewhere I can freely be myself, and if this is the place I have to go to be myself then I'll gladly join this little villain school" a twisted smile grew on the girls face as she spoke.
The young man then responds, unphased by the girl's twisted smile. "Ah I see, I was just impressed with this school, it outclasses U.A. in every way possible, you would think for a so-called prestigious hero school like U.A. the students would be able to hold their own against villains but instead all of them were humiliated, guess U.A. isn't what it's made out to be."
"And if going to Hive Academy made them capable of beating All Might, imagine what they could teach us. imagine how we will be able to further the capabilities of our quirks."
"Yeah! I'll get to cut people open and taste their blood! The thought alone just gets me so excited!" the girl said as her smile grew wider.
"Oh, silly me! I was getting all excited and didn't even introduce myself, I'm Toga! Himiko Toga!"
"Oh, well you can just call me Mustard, my quirk allows me to produce sleeping gas, I can also detect movement of anything within my gas through fluctuations, from how you talk about blood so much I assume your quirk is blood related."
"Yep, it is! I love blood! Especially other people's blood!" Toga said with excitement as she still held her smile.
It was then that they all heard another voice.
"It's wonderful to see young minds like yourselves eager to join our glorious school."
Everyone turned to see who just spoke.
A man with pale skin and three red lines on each of his cheeks, wearing a gray trench coat with a hoodie, beneath the coat he wore a black shirt and gray pants.
"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Psimon and I am here to aid you in your enrollment."
Psimon then continued
"Now before we go any further, I need to take care of our unwanted guests" Psimon then turns to a few of the people in the warehouse before reaching his hand out toward them.
In an instant the three individuals grab their heads and cry and out in excruciating pain before slumping to the floor.
"Underground heroes, as to be expected during these enrollments, but don't worry, I am here to ensure no infiltration can take place, and no harm comes to our future students"
"Woah man, that's a strong quirk" one of the teens in attendance said
"Indeed it its, it allows me to read people's minds, and if they are a threat i am capable of reducing them to that" Psimon said looking at the fallen underground heroes
"Now, it's time to proceed with your enrollment" after Psimon says this a portal opens with a reverberating boom.
"Come now, let's hurry before any more heroes or police show up."
Psimon begins to walk in the portal motioning the other promising young villains to follow him.
As they do Toga can't help but get more excited, she would have a chance to not only stab more people and get their blood but to make more friends as well.
And with that the portal closes, leaving behind the underground heroes who had attempted to learn more about Hive Academy only to be stopped by Psimon.
In an undisclosed location the Brain was conversing with other members of the light
"The Hive's mission was a resounding success, not only did they manage to beat the students of the top hero school of this world but they also managed to beat this world's number one hero and self-proclaimed symbol of peace, All Might. His defeat was broadcasted across Japan for all of the people of this world to see."
The other members of the light smirked and were most pleased with this information, particularly Queen Bee, who was very happy that her idea ended up working in their favor.
"Due to the nature of this society and its idolization of heroes, with the fall of the number one hero of this world, it has caused total upheaval among the populus" the Brain said.
"It appears the heroes of this world will not be threats in the same way heroes of our world are." Lex Luthor said.
"That is most certainly true, the number two hero of Japan is a meta human with a fire ability, and from what I have seen of him I am not impressed, we have the means to defeat the heroes of this world with ease" the Brain said.
"What about the students of the hero school? did any of them stand out as potential threats?" Deathstroke asked.
"Only one young hero managed to stand out, his name is Izuku Midoriya, he appears to have a super strength Meta ability, however it appears that he has yet to fully master his abilities as the use of his Meta ability causes his bones to break. It appears his body is not yet capable of handling his ability" the Brain answered.
"However, it is very likely that as time progresses, he will come to master his ability, currently I am having him monitored by the league of shadows, however it would be best to have a permanent eye on him and the other students of U.A. to monitor their progression" the Brain added.
"Leave that to me Brain, I have something or rather someone who is perfect for this task" Deathstroke said which got the interest of the other members of the light as they knew what Deathstroke was planning.
"Very well, one of the young heroes has seemingly quit following the attack, the combination of watching All Might and their other teachers fall at the hands of Alpha-1, the words spoken to them by the Alpha-1 field leader Jinx, and the broadcasting of the event on national television, it is safe to assume this event has caused a great deal of mental anguish to the heroes in training" the Brain said
"That also means there must be a new roster spot open in that hero class, good, it makes my plan that much easier" Deathstroke commented.
It was then that Vandal Savage began to speak.
"How has the recruitment of Hive students gone since they made their public debut?"
"Despite it still being quite early, Brother Blood informs me that a significant amount of young metas have enrolled already, and this number is only expected to significantly grow over the coming days" the Brain said.
"And what of the villains of this world who launched their attack on the school?" Queen Bee asked.
"We managed to easily defeat them, one thing to note however is that they had a creature which appeared to be genetically modified, it appeared that it had been created to kill All Might" the Brain said.
The other members of the Light appeared intrigued by what the Brain had told them.
"Ah, so the villains of this world are capable of genetical engineering, yet again if what is said about this organization is true then one of the biggest villains in this world is pulling the strings of this organization, it wouldn't be surprising to think he has a scientist or a team of scientists working for him" Lex said.
"Yes, currently we are making plans to learn more of this organization and this villain, he seems to be doing all his work through a boy named Tomura Shigaraki, the boy is the face of this so-called league of villains." the brain added.
Lex couldn't help but chuckle at that. "league of villains? what a childish name."
"Alpha-1 killed the genetically modified subject he referred to as Nomu, however Tomura Shigaraki managed to escape, not before sustaining injury to his ribs from the battle" the Brain said.
"Interesting, it would be best if we kept an eye on this league of villains as well, they may not appear to be much, but they could become a useful asset in the future" Vandal said.
"Agreed, I will have the shadows watch over them, we shall see rather they turn out to be an asset or an enemy."
With that, all the light members signed off.
In the days following the attack at the USJ All Might, and principle Nezu held a press conference in which All Might officially announced his retirement, and Nezu managed to quell some of the concerns regarding the safety of the students, they also announced the recovery of most of the teachers apart from Snipe, Cementoss, and Ectoplasm.
Some people throughout Japan thought All Might's loss to the Hive was pathetic given that they were just children, others were horrified at the prospect of children being powerful enough to not only defeat All Might but several other pro heroes.
The attack at the USJ marked the return of strong villain groups in Japan, after the fall of All Might crime spiked up not only in Japan but across the world as it did not take long for word of All Mights fall to spread across the world through social media, heroes across the world were beginning to feel the pressure as people were slowly losing confidence that the heroes would be properly capable of protecting them.
The heroes and police were attempting to investigate the Hive Academy and learn anything about it, but all attempts to make arrests or infiltrate had been foiled, many underground heroes who attempted to investigate and go undercover were either found in a catatonic state or went missing entirely, as well as some pro heroes who attempted to conduct raids on suspected meeting spots with swat teams only for the heroes and entire swat teams to go completely missing or hit a dead end in their investigation. It always seemed like the villains were two steps ahead, always slipping through the fingers of the pros and the police.
The Police and pro heroes were also feeling the pressure of the large crime waves that came following the defeat of All Might.
many parents of children who had been attending hero courses tried to get their children to reconsider the career path they had chosen; some parents had pulled their children out of hero courses across Japan.
In the Uraraka household the parents of Ochaco attempted to convince her to reconsider if this is what she wanted, but she denied and was adamant on staying, she couldn't quit just because things became tougher, she had to keep going, she had to for them.
in the Midoriya Household Inko Midoriya was also adamant that Izuku should choose a different path, she had known that since he was young, he wanted to be a hero, then his quirk came in late, and he was able to pursue his dream but now part of her wished he had never gotten a quirk, she would never tell him that and part of her didn't want to crush his dream but she wanted him to be safe, she couldn't bare the thought of losing her boy, her only child. after a long talk it was decided that Izuku would stay at U.A. and while Inko was reluctant she didn't want to keep Izuku from something he had dreamed of since he was a child.
in various households of 1-A students it was the same story, concerned parents confronting their kids on their career choices and trying to get them to reconsider, however, all of them stayed firm in their decision to stay and continue their journey of becoming pro heroes.
this leads them to today, a couple days before classes would resume the teachers and staff of U.A. had a meeting with detective Tsukauchi to discuss what he knew about the Hive Academy so far.
"Our investigators are trying to learn everything they can about Hive Academy, we are working with other local and federal law enforcement agencies across the world as children have begun to go missing across the world. So far we have had little success, the underground heroes who go to investigate have never yielded any kind of success and in many cases when we find these underground heroes there is one thing in common, they are all in a catatonic state, and when heroes conduct raids on these meeting sites they either end up finding nobody or they end up going missing." Tsukauchi said with a frown.
Everyone blanched and tensed up upon hearing this, not only were the investigations not yielding results, but pro heroes were either turning up missing or being reduced to vegetables.
"Have the heroes who were found shown any signs of recovery?" Midnight asked with a worried look.
"No, and from what I have heard it appears unlikely that they will ever recover, it's likely that they will have to be taken off life support" Tsukauchi said.
All Might grit his teeth "those villains" he growled out.
"It doesn't appear that it was done by any of the Hive academy students who attacked the USJ, it's likely that they have some sort of employee of Hive with a quirk that can mess with the brain, probably a very powerful telekinesis quirk if I were to guess" Midnight said.
"Most likely, given what we know from the footage these villains are powerful, so it's no surprise that the people running the school would have strong quirks as well, we've searched records for teenagers matching the description of the quirks the Alpha 1 students possessed, but we've come up empty so far, no reports of missing children matching their description either, and the records of several countries have been checked " Tsukauchi added.
"So, what you're really saying is we haven't gotten anywhere" Vlad King growled out with a scowl on his face.
"Something that is still bothering me is how my quirk was ineffective against several of the villains, it seemed to work against the one who called herself Shimmer but not her brother who called himself Mammoth, or the one with the Gigantification quirk who calls himself XL-Terrestrial." Aizawa said.
Aizawa then continued "Another one it did not work on was that villain with the red x's, he was shooting them from the palms of his hands and it seemed everything he could shoot could do different things, from simple bindings to making shuriken's out of his palms, it also seemed that he was capable of teleportation similar to the other villain, Kyd Wykkyd, his hand to hand combat skills were exceptional, far exceeding my own. He also stated multiple times that he was quirkless."
that last part of Aizawa's statement got everyone apart from Midnight to look at him with surprise.
"You mean to tell me that kid was quirkless? but how is that possible?" All Might asked with a worried expression on his face and worry present in his voice.
"Yeah, that can't be true, not only can he make those things from his hands, but he is capable of teleportation, if anything it seems like he has more than one quirk."
"I believe his abilities are a result of the suit he is wearing. It would explain why my erasure quirk did not work on him, and it confirms his claim about being quirkless." Aizawa stated.
This made everyone blanch, quirkless people doing such things was unheard of, not to mention it appeared that he had a quirk, it had to be those x shaped projectiles. All of them focused as they waited for Aizawa to explain.
"I believe he is using technology, as for the others I am not certain, the one with the Gigantification quirk concerns me the most, I don't think technology can replicate such a quirk, the same goes for the one called Mammoth, it's clear by his build that even without his Quirk he is strong, but it seemed like my eraser did nothing against him. there is also the possibility that what he has isn't a quirk at all, though I doubt his power comes from technology. there is a very real possibility that his strength and durability are a result of some sort of drug Hive, or a partner of Hive has developed."
This made everyone in the room tense up. could there really be a drug capable of making someone so strong? and if it could make someone like Mammoth who is strong enough to take on All Might, the thought of what could happen should such a drug be mass produced and distributed was horrifying.
It was then that All Might broke the silence. "Do you really believe that not only do they have drugs capable of giving people super strength and durability but technology capable of replicating quirks including teleportation?"
"I'm afraid so." Aizawa responded.
"Technology replicating quirks is unheard of, support items are one thing but what we are talking about now is a scientific breakthrough, something like that in the hands of villains is a worst-case scenario, not to mention possible strength enhancing drugs that are capable of turning people into monstrosities like this Mammoth character." Midnight said which only worried the others present in the room even further.
"I had the substance the boy used analyzed, the substance that shoots out of his palm is like nothing we have ever seen before, not only have we never seen kit before but it's not even a part of the periodic table, ontop of that through futher analyzing it was discovered that the substance is highly dangerous, if mishandled or used in the wrong way it could level a city or worse." Tsukauchi informed which made the teachers go wide eyed, even Aizawa bore a worried look as he was hearing this for the first time.
"You mean to tell me we now have a never-before-seen substance that if put in the wrong hands can be used to level a city? what is the hero public safety commission saying about all this? these are arguably the most dangerous group in the world, they need to be stopped as soon as possible, if we allow them to continue to use such a weapon there is no telling what may happen." Vlad King said with a hint of fear in his voice
"How does it even work? with that kind of substance in his suit how come he didn't take us out in a single shot?" All Might asked.
"We are still learning more about it, we plan to have it carefully shipped to I-Island for further testing as our scientists here can't do much with it, but we are taking extra caution in having it transported. What we do know is that in order to get it to work the way it does the suit is somehow able to channel the power and release it in ways the user wishes for it to be used rather its making shuriken's or making restraints, which apparently can be quite a lot of ways as this substance is very unique in what it can be used for, it might not be possible for him to use the suit in a manner that could cause large scale damage, however that doesn't mean they don't have a weapon or another means to use the substance to do more large scale damage. Tsukauchi added.
"I-Island is probably the best place to have that stuff looked at, I-Island is one of the most secure locations on the planet and if theres anywhere I would want that stuff to be its definitely there." All Might said now somewhat at ease, perhaps they could figure out how to use it for themselves and use it as a means to help people, and hopefully a means to stop it should it be used against them in a large-scale attack.
"It's clear that Hive Academy has access to powerful and dangerous technology, that substance as well as that Gizmo kid is an example, the technology in his Backpack is nothing like I have ever seen before." Aizawa said as everyone looked down remembering what happened to Powerloader.
"I also believe the British kid with the guitar may be using technology as well, either that or his quirk requires instruments in order to be used" Aizawa added.
"It's clear that Hive Academy is nothing to scoff at, they clearly have great resources and are very great at teaching their students how to use their quirks and hone their skills, they have the best technology, and I imagine they have the best teachers as well, it's especially evident in the fact that they are able to make the quirkless stand on par with those with quirks." Nezu said with his hands together.
Nezu then continued "In a way they are like our students, they both have potential, and like our students someone is guiding them trying to nurture their malice in villainy."
"Some of them do not even strike me as the villain type, when I ended up trapped in ice that guy with the Ice quirk was being a naughty boy and that girl hit him over the head and then apologized to me on his behalf, she did not strike me as a villain whatsoever, yet she has one of the more dangerous quirks out of the group, it's clear that some of these children are misguided." Midnight said with a concerned look on her face.
"She wasn't very apprehensive about it though, she landed a good number of hits on me without a second thought, I couldn't hit her due to her quirk" Vlad King commented. "I was fortunate enough to see the hit from that brute coming and I managed to wrap myself in my own blood and use it as a shield to protect my body when I was sent through those buildings by that giant, the strength those kids have is immense."
"Then there was the apparent leader of the class, Jinx, her quirk is dangerous and I'm not quite sure what it is, but it made me even weaker and made my injury far worse, on top of that when she used it on Snipe, and Present Mic, Snipes gun jammed, and Mic lost his voice" All Might said, his face becoming serious.
"Based on what she said during the attack I believe she has a quirk based on luck." Nezu said.
"I've never heard of a quirk like that before." Tsukauchi said.
"Me neither" Midnight said as she looked at Nezu.
"As time has gone on more and more never before seen quirks have been popping up, this quirk to be exact seems to be some form of probability manipulation." Nezu added.
"Not only does this school have the best technologies but the students who have quirks have very dangerous quirks, makes you wonder just how they found these kids and what exactly are they being taught, and most of all who is running this school?" All Might said.
"Unfortunately, because we don't know who they are, we have no way of knowing when or how they ended up at Hive Academy, it is reported that as of now 6000 children have gone missing in Japan alone, most of the ones reported missing were teenagers, they all either have troubled history or a villain like quirk. And a good number of them are actually quirkless." Tsukauchi said which got everyone's attention.
"Quirkless? I guess seeing that attack must have sparked something in them, the opportunity to stand on par with the quirked" Midnight said.
"Unfortunately, the quirkless are largely looked down upon in our society, it is no surprise that many of them would jump at a chance to receive power. For now, we will continue our investigation and try different tactics. This is an international effort, and a lot of resources are being put into this investigation. These people wanted attention and now they have it."
"And what about the league of villains, while they are not nearly as dangerous as this Hive Academy, they too were able to launch an attack, we can't underestimate them even if they are not as much of a threat" Aizawa said.
"Yeah, that guy with the beak gave me a run for my money, I'd argue he was stronger than that villain Mammoth I fought" All Might said.
"We have been unable to find anything on this Shigaraki so far, same for the warp gate villain Kurogiri" Tsukauchi responded.
"Someone like him will likely try this again once he heals, it's clear the Hive Academy and the League of villains had no interest in a team up, from what it seemed like, the large villain made of concrete seemed to have betrayed the league of villains and was working as a undercover operative for the Hive, they referred to him as Cinderblock" Aizawa said.
"It also should be noted that Shigaraki has childlike mannerisms, when things weren't going his way, he was visibly upset." Aizawa said with his usual expression.
"And he talked about Nomu like he was some kind of pet. It seemed like he had never been told no before, like he thought things would go his way no matter what. He has the personality of a spoiled little brat, a man child." All Might said with a serious look on his face.
"It's possible he never got the quirk counseling they give kids in elementary school" Midnight added.
"There were 63 villains arrested in the aftermath of the USJ attack, they were all small-time thugs who usually lurked around back alleys. What worries me is that this man child got them to follow his crazy plan, they viewed him as a real leader. Villains are starting to feel pressure now that the world is brimming with heroes, that might be why they were so quick to back such a simple-minded villain."
"Guess that makes sense" Vlad King said.
"There are lots of villains looking for a cause to get behind, which is why i have a fear that this Hive Academy is only the beginning." Aizawa stated.
"For now, we will do more investigating but a lot of our resources are going toward the Hive Academy investigation so updates may be a bit slow on the league of villains side of things" Tsukauchi said.
A few days later classes resumed at U.A. Everyone in class 1-A were still a bit rattled about what had happened at the USJ, even as they made their way to school, they were swarmed by journalists who had amassed just outside school grounds, each of them made their way to class, all of them receiving stares from the other U.A. students as they made their way there.
as Bakugo made his way to class, he noticed all the stares his way, they were not stares of anger, not stares of contempt, not stares of disapproval, they were stares of pity.
Bakugo hated it, he hated being looked at like some kind of sick dog that needed to be treated, it made him furious, the thought that people felt sympathy for him about what happened during that attack, it was humiliating, they were looking down on him, he would show all of them when the time came.
Izuku entered class 1-A still a bit down about what had happened but decided it would be best to try and be positive, he entered class to see his classmates talking, some as cheerful as normal, others wore a grimmer expression.
"Have you guys been watching the news?" Hagakure asked.
"It's not exactly avoidable, the attack is all they have talked about for the past week." Shoji said.
"Yeah, even when we were trying to get inside the school, they were all over the place." Ojiro commented.
"Everyone wants an interview with us, I got invited to a bunch of podcasts, we are basically celebrities." Kaminari commented.
"Yeah, it's kinda crazy right?" Kirishima said.
"They want to talk to us, sure, but not for the right reasons, I mean all we did was get beat up and then stand there while our teachers.." Jiro stopped herself from continuing as she frowned, and Kaminari and Kirishima did as well.
"Yeah, the whole thing has been rough for all of us." Sero said as he turned to look at the seat Mineta used to sit in
"He wasn't the most favorable guy, but I didn't want him to leave." Kaminari sighed with a frown still on his face.
"Yeah, I'm sad to see him go too" Kirishima said.
"To be honest I thought about leaving too, I mean those villains, they weren't just normal villains, normal villains can't do what those guys did, and from the way they talked I doubt that's the last we will hear from them, and frankly I'm not sure if I can handle another encounter with those villains" Mina said as she looked down clenching her fists.
"Yeah, I was completely useless during that attack, I tried to rush at that girl, the apparent ringleader, but she was more powerful than we expected, but I feel like there's not really anything I could've done." Sato said.
"I know were still just getting started with our journey as heroes, but I felt so pathetic and useless, and then the words of that girl." Uraraka gulped before she continued "they struck a nerve."
Bakugo was quieter than normal; however, he still wore a scowl on his face but not the scowl he usually wore, many of the students took notice of this but decided against asking him about it considering they likely knew the answer.
"It certainly was not a good experience, the teachers and All Might gave it their all to try and keep us safe." Tokoyami said.
"And it was all for nothing, Mineta was right, if they wanted us dead, they would have killed us on the spot, and we would have been too weak to do anything about it." Asui said which made the entire room fall into silence, they knew deep down that she was right and so was Mineta.
It was then that Iida ran in the room and to the front of the class "Attention! Homeroom class is about to begin, I know things have been rough, but we should remain orderly and take our seats!"
"Uh, we are all sitting." Kaminari commented.
"Yeah you're the only one standing." Sero added.
Iida then sat down as he silently seethed while Uraraka tried to calm his spirits.
It was then that Aizawa entered the room, relatively healed from his injuries considering they were quite minor compared to the injuries his fellow teachers and pro heroes suffered.
"Mr. Aizawa! I'm glad you're ok!" Iida said in his usual raised voice.
Aizawa then turned to face all of his students "first off, I want to personally apologize for what happened at the USJ, I was unable to uphold my duty as a teacher and as a hero to protect you."
The students tensed up at this, but it was then that Izuku stood up and began to speak.
"No, Mr. Aizawa there is no need to apologize, you and the other heroes gave it your all, we are heroes in training, we all signed up to be heroes because we want to save people and stop villains, but when faced with a real dangerous scenario we were unable to live up to the standards of a hero!"
"We were not ready for something like that to occur and as a result it costed dearly. People were seriously hurt and Powerloader was killed, I speak for all of us when I say we never want to stand idly by like that again when someone gets hurt! Which is why we are going to work harder! Stronger! Faster! Better! We will push past our limits in order to become great heroes and next time villains think they can attack us and get away with it we will show them why U.A. is the top hero school in the world!"
Izuku and all the other students showed a look of seriousness that suggested they agreed with Izuku's words, though it was unexpected to see Izuku of all people say this it did not matter to the other students.
Aizawa sighed before he began to speak "good, I'm glad that this event has motivated you all, while what happened was tragic it is a testament to reality when facing villains, villains, especially villains with strong quirks like they had will not be inclined to go easy on heroes or show mercy on them, they are ruthless cold-blooded killers, even if they are just kids, they showed their true colors that day."
"You can sit down now Midoriya." Aizawa said glancing at the green haired boy.
"R-right" Izuku sat back down as he waited for Aizawa's next words.
"Now, as you all know Mineta transferred from U.A. and no longer has interest in being a hero, as a result that means there are only nineteen students of class 1-A now, normally I would not mind this considering I have taught classes with fewer people than that, but principle Nezu thought that it would be best to have a new student, she is a transfer student from America."
At this, everyone became either curious or excited at the prospect of a new student joining them, especially a transfer, it was very rare for U.A to receive transfer students.
The girls were especially excited considering they would have a fellow girl to bond with, especially considering there had only been six girls in the class.
Before any of them could say anything Aizawa activated his quirk and gave them a glare which kept them from walking before deactivating it.
"Anyway, come in here and introduce yourself" Aizawa said not even looking in the direction of the door.
A girl then stepped through the door, the girl was Caucasian with long blond hair and blue eyes.
The class all looked at her waiting for her to introduce herself.
"Oh uh, Hi, I'm Tara, Tara Markov, but you can call me Terra" she said before giving the class a smile.
Note: I decided on writing the first seven chapters before posting so I could give you all a good amount to read, can't wait to continue working on this story
