Chapter Two: To Be In Your Element
With a nod, Nanami acknowledges her question. "Yes."
Briefly relieved, a small smile crosses her face before she gives a questioning glance at Gojo. "That's good, but uh, who's that with you?"
Hand still on the shoulder of Nanami, Gojo lazily waves at her. "Hello~ You can call me Gojo if you like. Me and Nanami are best buddies."
"We are not." Immediately shooting him down, he gets a worried stare from the girl in front of him. "My name is Kento Nanami. I look forward to working with you." Instead of addressing her concern, he bows formally at her.
Surprised, she takes a moment before bowing back. "Oh, uh, please call me Saber. I look forward to working with you as well Master, lets get along."
Watching this all unfold, Gojo makes an overly loud humming noise before chuckling to himself. Leaving both of the people in the room confused. "Isn't that interesting?"
"Master, who is this man?" Saber now makes her way closer towards them both, confused.
"A pain." Nanami glares at Gojo.
Grinning at his annoyance, Gojo takes the time to sling an arm over Nanamis' shoulders and fake a heartbroken expression. "Oh my dear, sweet, Na-na-min says he doesn't love me anymore! As soon as some new woman walks into our life, he pretends we aren't lovers."
"Eh...?" Shocked, Saber chokes on air for a second before coughing up blood. Both of the men stare in concern as she wipes the blood off her mouth. "Lovers?!"
Deadpan, Nanami silently suffers as he tries to ignore Gojo who is touching him. "We are not lovers. But more importantly Saber, what's wrong?"
She laughs it off with an awkward smile. "Ah well, it appears as if my sickness has followed me into this life, too." Despite her words, Gojo can clearly see the abject misery such a statement brings her. "You should be able to see some of my stats now, right master?" Quickly sounding more cheerful, she asks.
"...I can't" Crossing his arms, Nanami frowns. "Even following the advice of Tohsaka, I can't seem to get it to work."
Unbothered, Gojo shrugs. "Hopefully that's a problem for everyone, then. Sooooo, Saber Pink, what is it you were summoned for again?"
Taken aback once more, she stares dumbfounded at Gojo. "Uh. Is this a trick question...?"
"No." Gojo answers.
"Really?"
"Really."
"Really, really?"
"Absolutely for real."
Nanami sighs. "Saber, we think there might be something wrong with the grail, which in part is why we used a different chant. Can you please tell us why you were summoned and share any information you might have?"
Thinking on it, she rests one hand on her Katana while the other is at her temple. "So, I know about what the world is currently like. I know I was summoned to help protect Japan, and also that there was a war between six other heroic spirits for the chance to have their own wish." Concerned, she stares between the two men. "Why? What's wrong with it?"
Glancing at each other, they both have a silent conversation. Saber awkwardly waits for whatever conclusion they come up with.
"Not sure, honestly." Gojo says nonchalantly, shrugging. "In part, we hoped you'd be able to answer some of our questions. But I think that's a bust. We can't even see what abilities you have."
"...so is that why the energy master gives me feels weird?" Saber says after a pause.
Nanami is concerned, but Gojo merely gives a thumbs up. "Yep. It's nothing to worry about. Probably. But before we talk about it, I think we should talk with the others."
"Others? Is there even more people here?" Concerned, Okitas' hand twitches on her handle as she peers around.
"We have coworkers and students waiting outside, some of them with similar marks to me. There is even another Saber out there." Taking advantage of her silenced shock, he continues. "We are just being cautious because the last grail was dismantled for being corrupted." He explains. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." Nanami once again gives a bow.
Waving her hands for him to stop, she gives a sheepish grin in his direction. "No, no, it's fine. I assume none of them are enemies, right?"
"Correct." Nanami nods.
"So... are you all sorcerers?" Taking in the full appearance of them both, she assesses them. "You both don't look like mages. I've never met one, but I assume they would be more magical?"
Her comment draws the attention of both men. "Oho, so you know what sorcerers are, then?" Gojo asks.
"Mhm. The grail told me all about the various people, sorcerers and mages existing. Honestly, there's quite a lot that's changed, it's amazing~!" Excited, her hand drops from her Katana as she hops from one foot to another. "I wouldn't mind seeing it all~"
Laughing, Gojo lets go of Nanamis shoulder. "Well then, let's not leave everything waiting then. Let me introduce you to all my cute students~" Mirroring her tone, he makes his way to the door. Before leading them out, he gives a evaluating stare to Saber with a hand to his chin.
Self conscious, she stares back. "What's wrong?"
"Oh, well, there's already a Saber and everything, so it might get confusing. I'll just call you Pinky to everyone." A teasing grin is across his mouth, but he is only half joking.
"That's a terrible name!" Appalled, she seeks support from Nanami instead. "Master, surely you have a better plan?"
"Hmm." Taking something from what Gojo says, Nanami nods. "I think Sakura would fit you better, if it's to your liking."
Relieved, she nods, ignoring Gojo, who seemed as if he was about to object. "That sounds great!" Her voice is slightly high pitched as she gives Gojo a panicked glance. Sensing her fear, he wiggles his fingers at her with ominous chuckles.
To end whatever this interaction is early, Nanami leaves the house first. Following, the newly named Sakura's eyes widen in shock as all the presences outside becomes clear to her. While inside of that room, it was as if none of those people were there. Her eyes drift towards the only servant in the clearing with her. Seeing their face, she points. "Why do you have the same face as me!? Are you copying me?!"
Saber's eyes widen in surprise, before mild exasperated nostalgia crosses her face. "I have not met you until now, and this is the face I was born with."
Where Yuji and Nobara had been playing rock, paper and scissors from the side, Yuji stops in shock to point at the Saber. "Is that someone from the Shinsengumi?!"
There is silence for a few seconds before everyone tries talking at once. It takes moments after that for things to be explained, and even longer for that, so everyone can make their way inside and make themselves comfortable. Incredibly smug, the form of Gojo is the only one standing in the room as everyone else sits. Basking in the attention, he puts his hands in his pockets before speaking. "So I'm sure everyone is very curious about what exactly is happening. And I have quite a few answers!"
Everyone in the room focuses their attention on Gojo, whose grin widens. "So, one of our key questions was what powers these spirits we summon. The answer is fairly simple, it's reverse cursed technique."
The brows of Rin furrow in confusion, as everyone else waits for him to elaborate. "Now I'm sure some of you are curious about how that works. Both Rin and I were confused because this is a specific type of magecraft that manipulates cursed energy."
Her furrowed brows now raise in surprise. "Are you sure? You only just learned some bare basics of magecraft yesterday." Rin asks.
Unbothered by her question, he nods, giving sounds as if humoring her. Her face twitches. "I get the general idea. But the more important thing is that I can see the cursed energy itself. So, it's not hard to figure out the rest from there, based on how the energy is manipulated."
Incredulous, Rin stares at him as if he grew a new head. "That's ridiculous. Are you telling me you figured out how this magecraft works because of things surrounding it?"
"Yeah, obviously." Purposefully obtuse, he continues. "But anyway, those command seals that you have. The reason they are more complicated than Rin here remembers." He ignores her glower. "Is because part of their function seems to process your energy into positive energy, before fueling the servant with it. It's kind of interesting actually..." Trailing off, his unnaturally enormous grin unsettles everyone. "Whoever did this knows more about cursed energy than I do, even."
"Sakura seems to use my magical energy while I am here." Nanami cuts in. "So at the very least, that seems in line with how a grail war should function."
"Not entirely." Rin interjects. "Typically, the holy grail would connect to the leyline and use its energy to help summon and maintain servants. My Saber was much easier to maintain while I was in a grail war compared to now. So unless cursed energy on average is a lot more dense than magical energy as a fuel source..."
Grimly, Megumi finishes her thoughts. "What's fueling the servants?"
Now no longer caught in his own thoughts, Gojo rejoins the conversation. "Perhaps if they have access to all that hocus pocus, they could store it all and use it that way."
Physically pained, Rin winces. "Please, just call it magic." Recovered, she continues. "And I doubt it. They'd have to have done that sort of thing with insane amounts of power for decades, or done an absurd amount of sacrifices."
Nobara, having been oddly silent for most of the conversation, watching with a frown, speaks. "An old form of curse, right?"
Surprised by her knowledge, Rin silently evaluates her before giving a nod. "That's right."
"And on top of that, people usually have greater spikes in cursed energy as they are dying." Gojo adds. "But the actual answer is we have no clue for now. We'll need to learn as we go, then."
"So, does that mean I can summon my servant now?" Yuji asks. Excited, he waves his hands around.
Shaking her head, Rins pity cuts right through him. "No can do. Before we do anything, I'll have you learn about Magecraft, and have Sakura here help us try to learn what is going on. If she's willing?" Her questioning gaze turns away from Yujis dejected expression to the person in question.
"I'll try my best to help you all!" Cheerful, Sakura gives a thumbs up.
Most others in the room give murmurs of their own thanks. Rim waits for a pause in the talking. "Thank you for your help today, Nanami. You are free to go whenever you want. The rest of you, I'll need to stay put." Her hand moves as she talks, emphasising her points. "We'll be learning about all of your elements now. And yes, that includes you, Gojo."
His hand that was raised as if to ask a question lowers. Yujis remains raised. "Yes Itadori?" Rin asks.
His hand lowers. "What's an element for magecraft?"
Realising what he just mentioned, Rin coughs into her fist with her cheeks reddening. "Right. Beginners. To simplify it, think of it more or an indication of what types of magecraft you are most suited for. I'll explain more on the individual elements once we know which ones you all have."
Standing up from his seat, Nanami dusts his suit off before giving everyone a nod. "I shall head off now, then. Have a good day, everyone."
As he leaves with Sakura in tow, a chorus of goodbyes trails behind him. In silence they walk through the forest before the crunch of running footsteps has them turn back to where they came from. Panicked, a running Yuji stops in front of them. "Sakura, do you mind if next time I see you, I can get an autograph? I'm a big fan of the Shinsengumi!"
His excited demeanour surprised Sakura at first, but a warm smile replaces it. "Of course, I'd be happy too."
Giving a bow in thanks, he pivots on his heel and gives a wave. "I'll see you later!" In the distance, the voice of Rin calls out for him, hands on her hips.
Once out of sight, Sakura's smile drops as a more troubled expression replaces it. "You did a good thing back there." Nanami says. His head remains facing ahead of them both.
"…yeah. It's a little embarrassing being found out so quickly." Sheepish, her eyes remain steadfast on the ground.
Nanami watches her from the corner of his eye for a moment. "Is that so?"
"Yeah." She replies. Her voice sounds weak even to herself.
2018, September 24th
Watching out from the balcony, a completely naked woman leans against the railing as she stares overhead at the horizon, surrounded by forest on all sides. Her knee length, messy black hair is the only thing that covers her, giving the barest amounts of modesty. Her bangs are slightly curled to the side and sway in the wind. Both lithe and shapely, her form is stuck in the way of Jogo.
"Move out of the way. You're blocking my view." Jogo says. She ignores his irritated glare as she stretches herself with her arms overhead. Lazily, she moves just enough to not directly be in the way of where he sits. Staring up at the sky, a wide smile stretches her mouth. What starts as small chuckles soon turns into full on belly laughter as she stares up at the sky. Jogo is unimpressed.
Wiping tears of mirth out of her eyes, matching reddish brown eyes from both Jogo and the woman meet and stare at each other. "Hmm, Master." Her gaze drifts from the brief clash of wills they had in dismissal before watching the horizon once more. "After hearing your dreams, your wish." She draws her musing out. "You certainly are a fool, aren't you?" She devolves into more laughter as she clutches her stomach, her eyes closed in her mirth.
Now furious, where his hands clutch the chair cracks and the pieces smolder as he stands. "Do not think to judge me! You are merely a fake copy of a fake human! You should be glad that your creation has given you greater purpose than you ever would have had." His distaste plain to see, he sits back down and dismisses her with his body language.
The woman's eyes morph until they are a deep red color and turn slitted. Her murderous expression glares at his side for a moment before she takes a deep breath and turns her body away. "...fools aren't so bad, you know? If they aren't stopped, they can change the world." Her hand clenches on the railing. "But you should mind your tongue. Even if there might be some truth to your words, I don't like your contempt."
"Hmph." Jogo grunts. "We shall see."
"Humans have a lot more to offer than you think." Straightening, she turns around to lean on the railing and face Jogo. "It matters not how much you change my soul, my powers, my mind. Even a pale reflection of the Demon King of the Sixth Heaven is greater than most would ever hope to be!" Her body language radiates smugness.
Paying only half attention to his servant, Jogo spots the familiar form of Hanami down below. Next to them is a new stranger he is unfamiliar with. With green hair as long as his own servant, blue eyes, and a face that could be mistaken as male or female. He can clearly see its Hanamis servant based on the fact their servant has the same markings, same black hand and roses of the same color as Hanamis in its hair.
"Hmm, so this is what you were ignoring me for." Leaning in next to Jogo, his servant grins. "Lets go greet our new ally then, yes? And do try not to make enemies of them master. I might not be able to kill you, but nothing stops this new servant from doing so."
His half lidded glare stares at her, before giving up. "Go put some clothes on then, before lecturing me about first impressions."
"Wahahaha!" Shaking her head, she takes one last look at the sky. "I just wanted to feel the sun on my skin again. I've got to make the most out of being alive again, after all."
With light steps, she makes her way inside of the building to go get dressed. Jogo groans in annoyance. "What a waste of time this whole servant thing is. I don't see what Mahito likes about it."
He takes one last puff from his pipe before throwing it away.
2018, September 25th
"Sir, are you sure this is a good idea?" Gray asks.
The man known as the Lord El-Melloi the II, or Waver Velvet as he had been trying to return to, turns his head in his apprentice's direction. She still hadn't aged a day physically ever since what he had pinpointed as the start of the 5th Holy Grail War. Standing next to each other only highlighted the wide gap in their age.
Being in his forties hadn't made him any more spry.
"A good idea? Absolutely not." He answers. Both waiting in a side room for their meeting. Waver lights a cigar. "There isn't much good will between mages and sorcerers. The fact that they invited me here, and for a private meeting?" He takes a puff and blows it out. "Can only spell trouble. But it would be even more troublesome for me to turn down the invite. There's no reason to make enemies out of an entire faction like this."
"Why have we never met one before?" The questioning eyes of Gray peer up at him.
Taking a moment to consider his answer, he takes another drag. "I'm not an expert on the subject, and this is mostly rumours and speculation. But as far as I know, most sorcerers and the energy they use concentrate here in Japan. It would stand to reason they would mostly stick to here, where their enemies are."
"Cursed spirits?" Gray asks.
Waver nods in confirmation. "That's right. Most sorcerers are not researchers, they are combatants who hone their craft in killing. Those who use curses to kill curses."
Confused, Gray blinks owlishly at him. "But sir, why would they ask you to come here then?"
"The whydunit." He adds emphasis to the last word. "In this instance seems simple, at the very least." The interest of his apprentice only spurs me on. "They have a problem they can't kill, so they need information. That is what they have invited me for."
Gray opens her mouth to talk further, the form of Miwa coming closer, dressed in a suit, distracts them. "Please, honoured guests. Follow me." Giving a formal bow, she motions for them to follow.
They go through the trip in silence until they are guided through a set of double doors and into a dimly lit room that is only lit by candles. All three of them stop in the center of the room, the only fully illuminated space as six doors surround them.
"Welcome, Lord El-Melloi. We appreciate you coming here." Amidst the darkness, the voice of an elderly man echoes. The exact direction of where they are is hard to pinpoint for the three in the light. Miwa nervously stands up straight while Gray sinks into herself. Only Waver stands completely unbowed.
"Please, just call me El-Melloi the II. I feel I am not worthy of being compared to my predecessor with using the same name. I hope you can understand." Cordially, he takes the time to peer ahead, ignoring the uncomfortable nature of not knowing where the person you are talking to is.
"Of course, that shall be no problem." An unfamiliar voice speaks this time, just as old and weathered as the last. "In truth, we have gathered here to hopefully come to a beneficial relationship with you, Lord El-Melloi the II."
Composed, he raises one eyebrow in consideration. "Oh?"
"We hear you have a need for financial backing. We are perfectly willing to help you in this endeavour, in exchange for your cooperation." The voice adds in response. "Would this mark mean anything to you?"
Next to him, Miwa peels off a black glove to show off a red marking on her left hand. A tree with diamond shaped leaves. In its hollowed out centre lies the simple form of a Katana.
Shell-shocked, Wavers cigar falls from his fingers to the ground. Closing his eyes, he takes a deep breath before opening them again. "You have my attention."
2018, September 25th
Rin stares gobsmacked at Yuji. "Another one?!" Her voice lowers to a mutter. "I can't believe there's two average ones here."
All of her current students, who were those she had seen on the same day they did the summoning of Sakura, were waiting patiently for her to reveal their elements in magecraft. The last she had tested was Yuji, who had caused her to enter this catatonic state.
"Oh man, am I really that bad?" Taken aback, Yuji gives a sheepish laugh.
"It's the opposite!" Embarrassed by her yelling, Rin takes the time to let a breath out and lower her voice. "It's the opposite. Most people will have barely any, to none if they aren't from a family of mages." Her annoyed glance shifts through everyone here that isn't a servant. "But the smallest amount of circuits here is Gojo, with eight. And even then, the quality of his circuits is much higher than they should be."
Shocked, all of Gojo's students face him. This was the first they had heard about Gojos' magic circuit count, as both Megumi and Nobara had spent the previous day recovering from opening their circuits. Shoko could not see their circuits, and wasn't able to heal what was causing their symptoms. So both of them had to weather through the discomfort.
The only one unaffected by their circuits had been Yuji, who had spent the day taking care of his classmates.
Not bothered at all, he gives a sincere smile to everyone. "I'm glad to see you all surpassing me already, and we haven't even started yet!" His chuckles earn a returned smile from Yuji.
"What were our results?" Megumi asks. Impatient, his arms are crossed as he sits in his chair. Next to him, Nanami and Sakura are both drinking tea. In front of the window, the most distant of all is Nobara, who stares out the window with a faraway look.
"Oh, oh! Pick me, pick me!" Waving his arms childishly in the air, Gojo grins.
Maturely, Rin ignores him to focus on Megumi. "Fushigoro, you have ten magic circuits of high quality. Your element is Earth." His nod lets her move her attention to Nanami, who patiently had been watching. "Nanami, ten magic circuits of average quality. Your element is Ether."
Her gaze passing over the waving hands of Gojo, she turns to Yuji next. "Itadori, eleven low quality circuits..." She has a complicated expression come over her face. "Your elements are Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Ether." Everyone's attention now turns to Yuji, as Gojos arms drop in his surprise. "That's what it means to be an average one, to manipulate all five elements."
The first to recover is Gojo, who cheers. "Way to go Itadori! I knew you could do it!" Megumi gives a nod to himself over the information as Sakura leans closer to her master to whisper. "Master, is that a good or bad thing?"
"Good." Nanami says.
Placing her cup down delicately, Sakura pumps a fist in the air and joins Gojos enthusiasm with her own. "Wooooo, good job Itadori!"
"Thanks!" Giving a wide smile, he ducks his head in embarrassment. As his head turns back up towards Rin, he sees her exasperated glare at Gojo. He takes a moment for it all to click before he points a finger at Gojo. "Wait, this is something you are born with, right? I didn't even do anything to get this!"
Whistling innocently, Gojo refuses to meet Yujis eyes. Still in her seat, Sakura hides her face with the teacup as she dies in embarrassment. "Moving on." Rin interrupts. "Gojo has eight magic circuits. All of high quality." She sighs as he stares at her intensely. "With an element of imaginary numbers."
Roused out of her disinterest, Nobara now watches, annoyed.
Confusion is the dominant emotion in the room. "I'll explain later." Rin adds. Her gaze turns to meet Nobaras, where they both have a brief and silent staring match. "Kugisaki is also an average one, with thirty-three above average magic circuits." Her tone is clinical, even as her stare still has a hint of disbelief in it. "It seems Kugisaki has quite the potential in magecraft."
"Wow, Kugisaki. You almost have more than all of us combined!" Yuji exclaims. "That's pretty amazing!" His comment cracks a half smile from her, but she doesn't seem pleased by the news. "Yeah, I guess so."
"Tohsaka." Megumi says. "I'm sure I can guess what the four elements could do, but what are Ether and Imaginary Numbers supposed to be?"
Pleased at his question, she gives him a thankful look. "That's a fair question to have. If you were to break it down into a more simplified version, Ether is used as the foundation for Thaumaturgy. Which, when combined with other elements, can be used for the sake of manifesting ones magecraft." Her mystified audience causes her to sigh internally. "I'll hold a lecture for it later on what the different branches of magecraft are, so just take my words on it for now."
"Imaginary numbers are... harder to explain." She grimaces. "Having it as an elemental affinity typically allows a magus to access imaginary number space, but it isn't something I've focused much of my study or efforts into currently. I have heard stories of it being used as some form of storage."
Unbothered, Gojo shrugs and puts his hands behind his back. "That's fine. I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out myself soon enough." Disbelieving, Rin shakes her head.
"Now, to explain the rest of the elements." All of her students, except for Kugisaki and Gojo, take notes, writing as she speaks. "Lets start with Earth and its common applications..."
For the next two hours, they would learn about magecraft and its different thaumaturgical foundations, as well as what their elements would likely predispose them to.
At the end of the class, they all stretched, groaned, and shuffled their way slowly out of the room. "Any of you who are willing, feel free to join Saber in training today. She will be here, ready whenever any of you would wish for a spar." Rin says. A general affirmative answer is what she gets in return. As everyone prepared to clear out with groans and grumbles, Rin raised her voice. "Fushiguro, can you stay behind a moment?"
Turning on his heel, he makes his way back to his seat and waits patiently. The room falls into silence once it's just the two of them. "Later tonight, we were thinking of getting you to summon your servant if you are still willing."
Ruminating on her question, he eventually gives a nod. "Sakura so far doesn't seem like a danger. Maybe if there's two of them, we might learn more." Thinking about it further, he gives her a questioning stare. "And why ask me, and not Itadori?"
Troubled, Rin peers out the window at the gathering small crowd that had formed around Saber. A few steps away from everyone else, Gojo taps away on his phone before putting it to his ear. But she is drawn back to the sight of a cheerful Yuji. "Most of our summons are compatibility summons." Her eyes return to meet Megumis. "Which means they are based on the personality of the person who summons them." Her grim expression stares into his own. "We simply don't know how much the personality a summon will have will be affected by Sukuna in his body, or whether the parts of Sukuna he has swallowed will act as a catalyst to summon someone from his era."
"So you need more servants to possibly put down whatever Yuji summons, right?" Megumi finishes.
"Hopefully, we won't need that." Rin says. "Or the command seals will be enough. But if they aren't..."
"Then we get rid of them." Megumi says.
"Sakura is already aware of our concerns and agreed to help with something dangerous happening." Rin leans to the side with one hand on her hip. "Regardless, go join your friends. I'm sure Saber will enjoy teaching you all. If all three of you fight her at once, she might even find it challenging." Despite her comments, it seems mostly in jest.
"Thanks Tohsaka." He gives a nod before making his way outside.
Watching as Yuji waves him over with a much more cheerful Nobara, Rin frowns. "That Kugisaki is going to be a handful, I can just feel it," Rin mutters to herself.
Outside, Gojo stares up at the sky as he listens to the voice on the other side. His smile is almost feral before Yuji calls out to him. "I've got to go. Say hello to Miguel for me, and I'll see you soon." Hanging up, he heads towards the group. "Coming~"
2018, September 25th
Being back in Japan was a strange feeling for Bazett. It felt nostalgic for her, in a way. Even if a good amount of it was negative. Her hair was longer now than back then, with it up to her shoulder blades. Her reflection in the window of a store that she passes on her way serves to only show the deeper lines now in her face.
Comparing herself to her past was easy here, with so long between visits. Her successful track record for most of her career had finally got her some modicum of renown now. It only took over a decade.
Sounds about right for British aristocrats, Bazett thinks to herself.
Checking her phone, she stares across at a local bakery before typing a message. In one smooth motion, she enters, with a cute little ringing of a bell as the door opens. It only takes a matter of moments before she purchases some cream puffs in a moment of weakness from a sweet old lady at the counter.
Not even finished with her first cream puff at her table, the man she was waiting for arrives. Taking a seat across from her, Geto gives her a warm, closed eye smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you in person. I've heard good things about your work."
Internally embarrassed, Bazett takes the time to wipe at her mouth and hopefully hide any crumbs before nodding. "That's good."
"But just to make sure, you are perfectly willing to help us seal Gojo Satoru, yes?" Geto asks.
"Yes. So long as the pay reflects the danger." Bazett answers. It's not like Geto was the first person to contact her for similar reasons, after all.
"Wonderful." Taking an envelope out of his sleeve, he places it in front of her. "In there, you'll find details for a more private meeting spot for us to meet with our allies, as well as a date for the meeting. Details on Gojo and his various allies are all included in that envelope."
"Thank you." Placing the envelope into her pockets, she opens the suitcase by her side and takes out a piece of paper. "I have the contract here, in geas form." Sliding in front of him, he takes the time to read it over.
"How nostalgic." A small smile forms at his lips before he takes the time to sign on it. "I hope that's to your satisfaction?" Geto returns the contract to Bazett, who returns it to the suitcase. "It is, thank you." Bazett says. Out of the corner of her eyes, her cream puffs taunt her.
Leaving his heat, Geto gives her a nod. "I won't keep you too long, as much as I would love to sit and chat. I am a busy person as of late." His tone apologetic, he leaves the cafe.
Checking her watch, Bazett notes how the entire talk took less than a couple of minutes. Taking out the envelope, she opens it before grabbing a cream puff and taking a bite. While rifling through, her eyes linger on a photo of her target. Choking on her food, she pounds her chest.
Tears at the corner of her eyes from coughing, she closes them in annoyance. This photo only pointed out a problem she'd been stuck on lately, that money and fists couldn't solve in a way she'd like.
"I really need to get a boyfriend." Bazett laments.
End of Chapter Two:
I have forsaken my sleep to post this early. The muse has taken me hostage I fear.
Otherwise, some more set up as the dominoes start to fall. Hope you all enjoyed it and would love to hear any theories you all might have.
It would be pretty funny to have Yuji get Tama, I'll give you guys that much haha.
