Chapter 11
Electric Shock Showdown! Ash VS Lt. Surge
After 2 days of walking in the woods and Routes, Ash, Pikachu, Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi finally made it to Vermilion City and they all celebrated that Ami wanted to help the gang rent a hotel, Minako wants a bath, Rei wants to do up her hair, Usagi wants to go to the Pokémon Center to heal her Pokémon, Makoto wants to train and Ash wants to look around the city before calling it a day and prepares for the gym battle.
"We made it!!" The Gang happily shouted
"Last one in the Pokémon Center to heal our Pokémon is a Slowpoke!" Rei said
"Oh, you know I'm gonna win!" Makoto said to Rei with confidence "Right Ash?"
Before Ash could say anything he and Pikachu collapsed to the ground tired from all the walking
"Oh no!" Usagi cried
"Ash, Pikachu!" The girls cried
Makoto the picked Ash up with her arms and held him and Ami picked Pikachu up in her arms and the gang rushes to the Pokémon Center as fast as they could and when they got there they let Ash's Pokémon go first with being healed and they recognized Nurse Joy.
"I'll take care of Ash's Pokémon first." Nurse Joy said kindly then realized something "Ah, do you want to say that I look just like the other Joys? I'm the the cousin of the Joy from Pewter City, So I'm the second cousin of the one from Cerulean City."
"Yeah, That's amazing." Rei said
"You're family is wonderful." Said Ami
"Let's go take care of Ash while Nurse Joy takes care of our Pokémon." Said Makoto while carrying Ash
The girls and Ash all went to the Pokémon Center Cafe while they wait for their Pokémon get healed and they found a table to sit at and Makoto let Ash sit next to her and Rei while Ami, Usagi and Minako sat on one side while Usagi tickles Ash to wake him up and then he finally woke up after being tired from walking.
"Hey, Usagi thanks for waking me up." Ash thanked
"Oh, you're welcome, Ashy" Usagi said "as soon as our Pokémon are done healing wanna head over to the gym? and during our wait we'll order some food! I'll have some Soba."
"I think I'll have some Okonomiyaki to share with Mako and Rei" Ash said
"I'll have a sandwich." Ami said
"I'll have some Pizza." Minako said
"From what I was able to read from a flyer of Vermilion City" Ami said "the gym leader uses Electric type Pokémon so I think the best way to taking on the gym is by using a rock and ground type."
"That's why Ash has a Shiny Onix." Makoto assured "Mabye Ash could switch his Pidgeotto for his Shiny Onix for this battle and after we call Delia and Ami and the girls rent a Hotel me and Ash are gonna do some hard training."
After Ash and the girls finished their meals and Ash pays for them they hear the Pokémon Center healed jingle meaning that their Pokémon are healed Ash, Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi all went to the counter to pick up their Pokémon and Pikachu is very happy to see Ash.
"Pika Pi!"
"Thank you Nurse Joy." Ash thanked
"Its my pleasure, Ash and everyone." Nurse Joy said "and I see Ash is feeling a lot better cause you girls taken care of him as well."
"Yeah thanks, girls." Ash thanked which made the girls blush
"You're welcome Ashy." Ami giggled
"Ok, now that our Pokémon are healed let's go talk to Delia to see where-" Makoto said
Before Makoto was about to finish her sentence the doors slides open which caught the gang's attention and out came a kid with his Rattata came rushing in after it gotten beaten badly and knocked out by the gym leader's Pokémon.
"I'll make sure you're all right, Ratata!" The kid cried
"Yikes, that Ratata's in really bad shape." Minako and Usagi said
"Yeah, after a tough gym battle." Rei said
"Oh dear." Nurse Joy sighed "That's the 15th one this month."
"15th?" Ash asked "this gym leader means business."
"Exactly, Ash" Nurse Joy said "follow me to the recovery room."
Everyone follows Nurse Joy and they can't believe their eyes, all of the trainer's Pokémon in really terrible shape and covered in bandages and the trainers praying for them to be ok and to get better.
"This is terrible!" Ami cried
"What happened?!" Makoto asked
"Who the hell could've done this?!" Rei asked
"Everyone was beaten and done in by the Vermillion City Gym leader LT. Surge." Nurse Joy said
"Nurse Joy I read that the LT. Surge is an Electric type Gym leader." Ami said "His strongest Pokémon must've been this strong and powerful to send this many to the Pokémon Center."
"I'm guessing that If he can send 15 Pokémon to the Pokémon Center in one month, he HAS to be." Minako said "it's really 'Shocking' isn't it?"
"MINAKO!!" everyone shouted at her
"This is no time for Jokes, Minako!" Ash scolded "We gotta train really hard if we want to face this LT. Surge guy on tomorrow."
"But we gotta call Delia first." Usagi reminded
"Well, I'm sure you'll come up with a strategy to beat Surge if you get Onix." Rei said "and since we have two badges after you we'll show that bastard what we are made of."
"A badge is a badge." Ash said "I'll beat this LT. Surge and avenge those who has been beaten by him."
Then Ash and the girls went to talk to Delia on the phone and they see a couple of video Phones and sat down with Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi and is about to call Delia but When Our heroes soon see another trainer rushing his Pokémon to the infirmary, Pikachu had a really bad feeling that another form of him is in the gym except more powerful than him and is very reluctant to fight the gym.
"Oh no, now there goes a 16th Pokémon." Ami sighed sadly
"Hi, Delia!" The girls greeted
"Oh, my Ash!" Delia said in tears and she tried to told in her tears and try not to be very emotional "I was so worried about you!"
"Hi, Mom." Ash said "We made it to Vermillion City and make great time."
"Hey, Delia I've been teaching Ash how to cook and he is amazing!" Makoto said
"Wow, how did I have a wonderful son that any mother can ask for?!" Delia cried happily
"Well, I would love to meet you in person, Mrs. Ketchum." Ami said sweetly "and to get to know you."
"Someday you girls will I would love to meet the friends that my little boy has made." Delia said "and Mako thank you very much for teaching my son how to cook. This is his very first time and Okonomiyaki is one of the first ways to go."
"O-Oh thank you, Delia." Makoto thanked shyly
And after getting done with talking with Delia for a few minutes they finally nodice that Pikachu is getting scared and wants to tell Ash to not battle the Vermilion City Gym yet.
"Piiii!"
"Pikachu is saying that you can't fight the gym leader yet!" Ami warned and translated "if you do he'll end up like that Pidgey!"
"What?" Ash cried "I don't think you're gonna end up like that Pidgey, Pikachu because we gotta take it easy. We'll fight it tomorrow."
"Pika pika?"
"He's saying that are you sure?" She translated
"I'm sure." Ash said "I think we gotta get Onix and send Pidgeotto to Professor Oak's for later and after the Gym Battle."
"Chaa.."
"And after we rent a few rooms for a hotel we are gonna do the hardest training we ever did, Pikachu." Ash said with determination "and Mako found a really good training spot in Vermilion City and we are gonna train instead to rushing into a Gym."
Pikachu then put his fears away for now and he nodded with bravery and Ash switched Pidgeotto for his Shiny Onix then he, Pikachu and the girls rented a 3 Hotel rooms for 2 nights and Ash and Pikachu settles down in Ash's Room and he hears a knock on the door and Ash opens up the door and Makoto comes in.
"Hey, Ash." Makoto greeted "are you and Pikachu and Onix ready for some training?"
"Well, Hell yeah!" Ash cried
"Pika!"
Makoto took Ash and Pikachu to a big dirt hill near an abandoned construction and He, Pikachu, Onix and Makoto Started training in it and she threw plastic lighting bolts at Pikachu which uses his Iron Tail and thunderbolt to destroy them and she throws more at Pikachu as he dodges them as quickly as possible, Ash and Makoto could not believe it. Pikachu learned agility a move that increases the Pokémon's Speed by two stages. Which Pikachu is even more faster than the speed on light.
"Wow, Pikachu!" Ash awed "You learned agility!"
"Oh, yeah!" Makoto cried and hugged Ash and Pikachu "way to go Pikachu! Now it's Onix's turn!"
Ash sent out Onix and he too did some very hard training and Onix dug underground while Makoto uses Jolteon to battle him and Onix came out from underground and knocks out Jolteon and Onix learned dig An attack that hits on the 2nd turn. And it also Can also be used to exit dungeons.
"Holy Hell!" Ash cried "You did it you learned Dig, Onix!"
"Ok, that's enough training for today." Makoto said "let's head back to the hotel and get some shut eye. We got a big day tomorrow."
Ash recalls Onix then he, Pikachu and Makoto head back to the hotel and Makoto asks Ash a question
"Can I sleep with you tonight, Ash?" Makoto asked with her beautiful eyes
"W-Well, yeah you can." Ash accepted
"Pika."
Then Makoto wrapped her arms around the boy and she picks Ash and Pikachu up and she sets Ash down and she heads for a Shower and after that She lets Ash have the shower and after their showers Ash lays down on the bed and Pikachu snuggled on him and Makoto came out of the bathroom with her hair down which made Ash's face go pink
"Ashy, are you ok?" Asked the brunette with her hair down
"You're h-hair, Mako." Ash stuttered "it's so b-b-beautiful when it's down."
Makoto immediately blushed at Ash's compliment and smiled "T-Thank you, Ash I'm glad you love my hair."
Then Makoto layed down with Ash in bed and she and Ash cuddled in bed and she held him and Pikachu close and they both fell asleep.
"Goodnight, Mako and Pikachu" Ash said
"Pika Pikachu."
"Goodnight, Ashy and Pikachu." Makoto said
The next day Ash, Pikachu, Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi arrive at the Vermilion City Gym and Ash is all ready to battle and has A party of 6 the main ones are Pikachu and Onix since they learned new moves because of Makoto's training he took a deep breath and opened the doors to see it's dark in there.
"Wah!" Usagi whined then clung on Ash's arm "It's too dark in here."
"Hello!" Ash greeted "Me and my friends have come to request a formal match to avenge the 16 Pokémon that was knocked out, and earn thunder badges!"
"Yeah, bring it on!" Rei shouted
"Ash, I hope our training is well worth it." Makoto reminded "Let's give it our all."
Suddenly they hear a couple of unknown voices
"All right." Said a male voice
"Hey Boss, 6 more victims has appeared." Said a female voice "1 boy and his 5 babes."
Then a big man with an army outfit by the name of Lt. Surge approved our heroes and greeted himself and looked down on Ash and the girls.
"You're...You're THE LT. Surge?" Ami feared
"He looks like a guy from the army." Minako said
"Welcome to the Vermillion Gym." Surge greeted "and yes a AM the LT. Surge young lady. now which one of you solders are gonna face me first?"
"I am, sir!" Ash said "I'll go first and Mako will go next!"
"Oh, yeah." Surge said "the first little solder!"
"Solder?" Ash shouted "I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!"
"Well, everyone who comes in for the first time is a solder." Surge said "and everyone who loses to me is a baby and or a runt!"
"RUNT??!!" Rei screamed then Makoto held her to stop her from going insane "WHY YOU!! ASH TAKE THIS GUY DOWN AND SHOW HIM WE ARE NOT RUNTS!!"
Then Surge loooked at Ash's Pikachu then laughed along with his 2 subordinates and shook his head
"Well, Well, Well, a Pikachu." Surge said "Solder brought a runt Pokémon."
"Hey, he's not a runt Pokémon!" Makoto shouted "he went through tough training last night and he is a stronger Pikachu now!"
"And why the hell are you looking down on Pikachu?!" Ash asked "and quit messing with the girls!"
"Pika Pika?!"
"Ok, Solder." Surge said getting his PokéBall "I'll show you 6 why, Go PokéBall!"
Surge sends out an evolved Pokémon called Raichu who is bigger than a Pikachu and it materializes.
"Rai!"
"Oh my god!" Ash said "this one's a Raichu!"
"It's so big!" Rei and Usagi shouted
Ash got out his PokéDex and analyzed it which said "Raichu, the Electric type mouse Pokémon and the evolved form of Pikachu, the Electricity it can conduct is 100,000 volts, it's said to even caused a Indian Elephants and a Dragonite to faint."
"Wow, an Dragonite?" Minako asked
"Be careful Ash," Ami said "this one is even stronger than Pikachu, he might not last long and a rock type is the best option."
Ash and Pikachu satred Raichu down and Makoto thought about Raichu and she has her very own and she will plan to show Ash later after the gym battle is over. Ash's Pikachu wants to go first and show Raichu that size doesn't matter and his training will be worth it since he learned agility.
"You right!?" Surge said "you ready to battle, Solder? If you want to quit now's the time to do it."
"Raichu."
"Don't underestimate my Pikachu." Ash said
"Yeah!" Makoto shouted "We're gonna show you how much our Pokémon is capable of. And quitting is NOT our game!"
"We fight till the very end." Rei said
"Well, if you want to battle, my Raichu ain't a easy one to take out." Surge said "and that Runt ain't a Solder if you're aiming to be a Pokémon Master, you have to evolve them the day that you get them."
"Evolving Pokémon is not the same as raising them." Ash said "besides I like my Pikachu the way it is."
"Well, I sense that you brought a Onix a rock snake huh?" Surge said "well, I hate Rock types."
"Wow, does he have X-ray vision or something?" Rei thought
"And Electric Pokémon are usable when they've learned all of their Electric moves." Surge informed having his finger and so did his Raichu "when they're small, they're no different from pets."
Pikachu's cheeks then light up he feels insulted for being called a pet and he is all fired up and ready to face his evolved form
"Well, Pikachu going against his evolved form is gonna be one big battle." Ami said "and if Raichu learned all of its electric moves, then it's a formidable opponent."
"So Solder and Runt, are you ready to rumble?" Surge said
"Damn right I am!" Ash shouted "and win the thunder badge!"
"Pikachu!!"
"Ok, Pikachu I'm counting on you." Ash said "let's use our strategy to the test."
"Pikachu."
"Oh No." Surge said "If it isn't shocking in some way, you can't feel the pain of electricity."
Our heroes went to the battlefield and the girls sat on the bleachers and watch on as Ash is one side of the battlefield and Surge is on the other and the The lights come on. Pikachu is all ready to fight his evolved form. Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi is hoping that Ash and Pikachu be careful.
"I really hope that they do good." Ami said "because I believe they can do this."
"Let's see what Pikachu is made of against Raichu." Makoto said
"The Pokémon battle will now begin." One of Surge's subordinates said "Only one Pokémon may be used. The gym leader, Lt. Surge, has chosen Raichu. The challenger, Ash, has chosen Pikachu. No time limit! Let the battle begin!"
Outside Team Rocket watches on as Meowth is cleaning his coin.
"Wow, Pikachu is facing off against his evolved form." Jessie said
"And Raichu is really strong." James said "but should we just be watching?"
"And what if Pikachu loses?" Jessie said "then chasing after it up until now will have become meaningless."
"It would seem that way." Meowth said "the. We can steal Raichu instead."
Then Jessie and James hit Meowth for interrupting them, then outside the bell rings and the battle begins
"Go Raichu!" LT. Surge commanded
"Rai!"
"Go, Pikachu!" Ash commanded "Let's show him our strategy that we've been working with Mako all night!"
"Pika!"
"Pikachu, Iron tail!" Ash commanded
"Pikachu pika!"
Pikachu's tail then turned Iron and then tries to hit Raichu but reflected it then Raichu charges at Pikachu leaving Ash, Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi shocked.
"Pi?!"
"What the hell?!" Ash asked
"He dodged it!" Usagi shouted
"Raichu, show him a thunder shock he'll never forget!" Surge commanded
"Raichu!"
Raichu's thunder shock attack lands with much more power and knocks Pikachu back but Pikachu did a backflip and lands on his feet and is breathing heavily meaning it's not out just yet.
"Raichu."
"Haven't you learned you're lesson, Solder?" Surge Asked "a wimpy Pikachu is no Mach for my Raichu so give up."
"Pikachu!" Ash cried
"Ash, you should call it back." Ami suggested "and Use Onix he doesn't have ordinary Electric moves, there's too much level difference!"
"No way!" Makoto abjected "We don't want the strategy to go to waste! He just isn't focused."
Pikachu turned to Ash and nodded to him not to call him back meaning he wants to fight no matter what it causes him making And Pikachu took a deep breath and looked at Raichu making Ash to put his worries aside making Surge laughed.
"Oh, for a pet, it has guts." Surge said "But a pet is still a Pet, normal moves should be enough. Now Raichu give us the big finale with your body slam!"
"Raaaichuuu!"
Raichu leaped up into the air for maximum impact with the Body Slam while Pikachu charging at it and staying focused this time, to the horror of everyone watching and rooting for Ash.
"PIKACHU!!" Everyone shouted
"Watch out!!" Ash and Ami shouted
Then Pikachu dodged Raichu's body slam as fast as he could and Got out of the way as Raichu lands hurting himself much to Lt. Surge's shock.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Surge asked while shocked
"All right!" Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi said
"Wow, he's fast." Jessie awed
"Go, Pikachu!" Ash commanded "Agility!"
"Chu!"
"Riachu!" Surge commended sounding irritated "Use your Body Slam!"
Pikachu starts running faster Riachu tries to hit Pikachu with a Body Slam, but Pikachu is too fast to be slammed he tried again, and again and Again but Pikachu kept dodging the evolved Pokémon's attacks while the girls cheered on.
"Raichu?!" Surge asked
"It's working!" Makoto awed "just like we planned it!"
"He can do this!" Usagi cheered "it's just as you trained Ash, Mako!"
"I think Surge letted Raichu evolve too early." Ami said "he couldn't learn the speed moves that Pikachu specializes in."
"All right." Ash said "Pikachu use all of the Agility you got!"
"Pika!"
Pikachu goes even faster and charges at Raichu then Pikachu starts running circles around a confused and surprised Raichu, making it dizzy from all the spinning and Minako and Usagi get dizzy as well.
"That's near the speed of a ninja..." Usagi said while dizzy
"Round and Round he goes.." said Minako while her head is spinning
"I don't believe it!" Surge shouted "you're Pikachu is faster then the speed of light!"
"You're Raichu can't move fast." Ash said "that's his weakness!"
Surge is now pushed to his limits and is furious "GOD DAMN YOU!!" He shouted "Raichu cut off the runt's movements with thunderbolt. SHUT IT DOWN!!"
"RAIIICHUUUUUUU!!!"
Raichu lets out it's most powerful Thunderbolt ever, breaking the windows, destroying the battlefield, and frightening everyone and Ami telling the girls to hit the deck leaving the Battlefield in the dust.
"Oh my god!" Makoto said
"It's the end of the line." Surge said then he looked at Pikachu who is still standing on his tail after that huge attack as the dust clears "WHAT THE HOLLY HELL?!?!"
Then Ash and the girls are shocked that Pikachu survived that attack
"Pikachu!" Ash cheered
"Pikachu survived?!" Rei gasped "But how? I thought for sure that Pikachu was unable to battle."
"By using its tail as a Ground, it could endure the electricity." Ami said "that was the most incredible move I ever seen."
"Grounding in the earth is incredible." Jessie said
"Dumbasses!" Meowth said while slugging them for revenge "just watch as take this seriously.
Back at the gym Pikachu then got on his feet about to take Raichu down.
"Raichu, one more thunder bolt!" Surge commanded sounding panicked
"Rai...Rai?"
Raichu tries twice to charge up a Thunderbolt, but nothing happens to his and Surge's confusion meaning He used up all those 10,000 volts of electrical power with that last Thunderbolt, leaving him a sitting duck.
"He can't do another thunderbolt?" Rei laughed
"Yes, Rei it hasn't charged up yet." Ami agreed
"All right, Pikachu." Ash said "use Iron tail!"
Pikachu picks up speed as it charges as his tail turned into Iron ready to attack
"Raichu use Mega Punch!" Surge commanded while still shocked
"Rai..."
Raichu tries to hit Pikachu with mega punch but the yellow electric Pokémon is too fast for the evolved form and hits Raichu in his chest with Iorn tail 3 times then Raichu falls to the ground swirly-eyed, meaning one thing that Pikachu has won.
"UNBELIEVABLE!!!" Surge gasped "THAT PIKACHU IS NOW A HONORARY SOLDER!!"
"Raichu is unable to battle!" Subordinate called "Pikachu wins! This battle goes to the challenger, Ash Ketchum!"
"We did it, Pikachu!" Ash cheered
"Way to go!" Makoto cheered "just like the way we trained!"
"That was amazing!!" Rei cheered
"I knew that they'll win!" Usagi smiled
"Who know a Pokémon would have that much speed." Minako said "Ash should teach our Eeveelutions that one day."
"I'm proud of you Ashy." Ami smiled
Then Makoto ran to the Young man who claimed sweet victory and his yellow Pokémon and wrapped her arms around them hugged them out of excitement and she twirled them round and round. Then Lt. Surge approached to Ash and Makoto
"Congratulations." Lt. Surge said "winner Solder Ash and Solder Pikachu as proof of winning against me, the Thunder badge." And Surge handed the victor the badge
"Thank you, Lt." He said then looked at his new badge and Makoto's smiling face and Pikachu. "This is... this is the Thunder badge."
"You let me enjoy the first gutsy fight in a while." Surge said "you sould be proud."
"Thanks." Ash thanked than raised the badge higher "I got the Thunder Badge!"
"Pi Pikachu!"
"And our honor too!!" Makoto smiled then hugged Ash from behind "You and Pikachu fought your hearts out to win that thing!"
Then everyone gave a round of applause for the victor
"That was a wonderful victory." Surge said "its my loss."
"Rai ai ai"
"Pika"
Then Ash picks up Pikachu who Makoto picks Ash up and hugs the two of them
"Thank you Pikachu, and thank you Mako." Ash thanked "this was all thanks to Pikachu and Mako for trading me."
Pikachu happily gives off a Thunderbolt hug to Ash and Makoto
"Wow!" Makoto cried "the stars of victory!"
"I really do see the stars of victory!" Ash said
"Pika Pika!"
"They really do make a good combo." Rei said "Those two."
"That's right." Ami said
Ash, Pikachu and Makoto start laughing, and everyone soon joins in and Makoto starts nuzzling on Ash's cheek and then after the girls had their turn to battle Lt. Surge one girl at a time and gave it their all they got their own thunder badges and head to the Pokémon Center and Makoto wanted to Show Ash her Raichu.
"Hey, Ash." Makoto said while blushing and holds her PokéBall "I want to show you something.
"Ok Mako." Ash agreed
"Ok, PokéBall go!" Makoto said while sending her Female Raichu out
"Rai!"
Then her Raichu sees Ash's Pikachu and her eyes turned into hearts and falls in love with it and Her Raichu runs up to it and pins Pikachu like a cat and starts licking him in his red cheeks causing him to blush at Raichu
"Mako, you got you're own Raichu?" Ash asked "and why is she cuddling with my Pikachu?"
"Yeah I do I wanted to show you after your gym battle with Surge." Makoto said "well, I guess she's madly in love with your Pikachu."
"What?!" Ash cried
"Can you feel the love tonight?" Rei teased
"Well we gave it our all and got Thunder badges so that makes us 6 have 3 badges and 5 to go." Usagi said
"Hey, Everyone I see a Cruise ship called the 'S.T. Anne' we should check it out." Minako said
And so Ash and Pikachu won a Thunder badge, as did Ami, Makoto, Minako, Rei and Usagi and thier Pokémon, in an impressive performance. But they still have a long way to go to reach their goal, as does Team Rocket. And Makoto's Raichu fell madly in love with Ash's Pikachu And so the adventure continues, on and on. As the Journey continues!

And now Ash and the Girls got 3 badges but still a long way to go before the Kanto Pokémon league in the Indigo Plateau.
