After breakfast, the Mermaid trio decided it was time to get to work on tracking down this mermaid.
"Okay, our best bet is to split up and cover more ground." Luz said.
"Yep, Vee is heading to the aquarium to speak with the person about the fish." Amity said, "I'll head there with her and check out there. I mean, mermaids at an aquarium seem to be a running theme after all."
Luz nodded. The entire reason that Camila and Philip had come, was the fact that Philip had been in contact with the aquarium in Yokohama, as there was a very rare and endangered fish that had been caught by a fishing boat. The second the fishermen learned, they had called the aquarium and it was being held in a special quarantine tank. There was one of them in the Aquarium back in Connecticut, and because of its rarity, Philip is hoping that it will be useful to start a breeding program with it and bring its numbers back up. Since it was found by workers at a fish market, Luz decided to check out that area.
"I'll be at the fish market, see if I can find anything out about the mermaid we're after. Surely someone has seen something about her." Luz said, "And it's not that dangerous, as long as I don't touch any of the fish. It's a lot safer than being in the sea."
"Which is where I'll be going to check." Boscha said.
The two looked at Boscha with shocked faces.
"What? We have to cover our bases." Boscha said, "Need I remind you that nearly all mermaids stay in the sea for their entire lives? There's a good chance she's in the water."
"You are crazy, you know that?" Amity asked, "We're in a place where there are fishing boats out at all times, and you want to swim around them in search of one!?"
"Yep!" Boscha said, smiling wide enough that you could count her sharp teeth.
"If it wasn't for the fact that you would grow it back, I'd knock a tooth out of your mouth!" Amity said.
"Don't threaten me with a good time." Boscha said, giving Amity a wink.
"That's it, I'm going to meet up with Vee, don't die Boscha." Amity said, storming away.
Boscha wrapped an around Luz's waist and pulled her close.
"She loves me." Boscha said, "Now if I'm going to die, mind giving me a kiss goodbye?"
"Is there a reason you two are being extra hormonal, lately?" Luz asked.
"Oh, that's because we're a week away from starting our transition into men." Boscha said, before kissing Luz, "Bye, honey!"
Luz just stood there, unsure of what to say, as Boscha walked out, leaving her alone. A stream of blood came out of her nose as she thought about what Boscha said.
"Oh shit... I'm going to become a mother by next year."
