The reveal of a knight hoping a horse standing on an edge of a cliff as they throw mountains is a massive castle floating in midair as this virtual world will bring the world of the game to the next level. But what they don't want is gonna happen when this world you came will stay forever.
It was in the middle of a lava area everyone charged down yelling as they all attacked a flaming monster with six arms, they all attacked it at must slashing it.
But as they backed up the area when a burst out pillars of flames appeared surrounding everyone with no escape, the flaming monster letting out a loud roar its body turned blue flames now.
Then a boy with a black-haired young man calls everyone. "Everyone does not get near the walls!" He shouted out loud.
The other group was shocked and afraid of what happened.
"Aaahhh!"
"W-What's happening?! The walls are coming closer!?"
As the flaming monster shoots out fires at the two it causes them major damage and disappears in pixelation floating in the air.
Then the flaming monster turns on the black hair boy as it shoots out a blue fire boy flying straight towards, but then all of a sudden a young man wearing a yellow trench coat jumps in and swings down with his sword slashing the blue fireball in two to explode.
The person turns around and looks at black hair boy. "You alright?" He asked.
"I'm fine, thanks for that one" he replied thanking him.
Then a girl with long chestnut hair and with her is a girl with green eyes rushes up to the two of them. "My god are you alright!?" the chestnut-haired girl asked worriedly.
"Don't worry I'll be alright, but I'm not sure of this," the black-haired boy said as they looked and saw everyone surrounded by the pillars of flames no one can escape.
"There's no way out, we're surrounded, everyone can't escape!" the chestnut-haired girl shouted.
"And the only way out is beating that boss" the black-haired boy suggested as the only way to out is to defeat that flaming monster.
As the young man wearing the yellow trench coat looks down at the ground for a moment before tilting his head back up and runs towards the flaming monster when the group notices him.
"Wait!"
"What are you doing!"
Then the green eye girl runs down following him. "No! Don't, please don't die!" she calls out to him with tears coming out of her eyes.
The young man pulls out his menu when the flaming monster opens its mouth and breathes out a fire at the young man, the green eyes girl covers her eyes as she can't bear to watch this to her partner.
But then all of a sudden a bright light strikes the fire, it slashing the flaming monster as well, the green-eyed girl uncovers her eyes and witnesses her partner who was holding a bright glowing object as he is speechless as well as the other two.
The flaming monster then created blue fireballs tossing them at the young man as he dodged up and duck one of them was flying towards him he swung downwards slashing the blue fireball. The young man stares at the flaming monster. He raises the bright light object as he creates a white circle above it roars before it is about to slash him with its claw the young man grips the bright glowing object and swings to the left, creating an aurora surrounding the young man deflecting the flaming monster slash.
The aurora got everyone's attention as they witnessed what was happening in the group was a man wearing a red robe seeing the aurora with a smile.
Soon the aurora gathered together with the young man as his body was glowing white, he raised the bright glowing object up and swung down letting a battle cry.
'Tale about a black clothing boy facing a blue demon with his two swords. A girl attacks with lightning flashes. And a man creates a world for his dreams to come true. This is a tale of a young man who changes the tide of the terrifying death game.
Illumination Aurora
The world popular game 'Sword Art Online' was gonna get released soon but for now, everyone's playing the beta. One day in August thirty-one was the last day of the beta until the full version will be released soon for months.
In a dark room, someone was on the computer looking at the website of the new game in the virtual online. He then looks at a grey helmet known as a NerveGear in his hands knowing that this is the final day of the beta, he places it on his head, lays down on his bed and says these words to accept it.
"Link Start," he said, entering the virtual world.
Deep in the dungeon some of the boars were wandering around before one of them got facing the attention of the one who threw it revealing to be a young man who was average tall, light skin, dark brown short hair, and dark orange eyes. He wears a yellow long tunic shirt with orange lining, brown pants, boots with orange lines, brown gloves, armour chest, and a sword hanging on his back. His name is Xavier.
The boar roared before Xavier grip his sword before it started glowing, letting a roar and slash across the and disappeared in pixelation.
Xavier sheaths his sword and heads down and continues walking down the dungeon. Since this is the last day for the beta before the full version he decided to play this game one last time.
"Last day huh, might as well make the rest of it" he muttered to himself while continuing walking down for the last time he will go online before the release.
"Um excuse me" then Xavier hears a female voice nearby as he turns and sees a girl with a straight black mid-hair that goes between her shoulders, and green eyes. She wears a dark magenta tunic with dark green lines on her neck and waist, a black mini skirt, a chest plate, and a dagger on her back waist. "Do you have a moment?" she asked.
Xavier looks around as he knows she was talking to her and decided to approach her. "Yes, and you are?" he asked.
"Hello, my name is Koharu" she introduced himself as Xavier stared at her before he introduced her.
"Xavier," he said.
"Listen I know it's embarrassing to say but can you be with me," this dumbstruck Xavier of Koharu said. "The thing, I'm terrible at this game and I'm really bad at it."
"And why's that?" He asked.
"Well, the truth is, this is my first time playing VRMMORPG and the first time I ever played a video game. I was looking forward to playing more until today was the last day" Koharu explained.
"And you're doing this, why?" Xavier asked with his right eye raised up.
"Because I want to do something else than doing everything back in the Real-world that's why I came all this way. But now I'm lost, so can you come with me" she asked him.
"Uh, I don't know" Xavier scratches his head as he doesn't want anyone with him, until looking at Koharu staring at him he tries to look away. But she keeps staring at him, asking for help Xavier lets out a sigh. "Fine you can come along with me," he said.
"Really!" Koharu shouted happily.
"Just try not to slow me down," Xavier said harshly as Koharu frowned from that but followed him anyway.
The two of them walk down the dungeons for a while now when they bump into monsters, Xavier usually charges in taking all of them down while Koharu stands doing nothing but watching him.
"Come on, you can't stand there all day while your party member is doing all of it alone" Xavier calls out.
"This is my first time playing a video game! It's not like I'm a newbie of all games!" Koharu hollered at him.
"Then stop standing there and face at least one, the game is about to close soon, and if you don't play, you'll end up first to die in the game when it releases" Xavier points out about the date of the game ends.
Koharu pouted as if Xavier insulted her being scared she walks down and shows him not afraid or a newbie. But when she charges towards a boar, it charges towards her knocking her flying and down on the ground with her bottom.
"Ow," she groaned from that fall.
Then Xavier cracked as he chuckled quietly before Koharu noticed him laughing. "That's not funny!" she exclaimed angrily.
"Calm on is that, don't tell me that your attack is just charging!" Xavier chuckled before stops laughing and picked up a rock. "There's a system called initial motions" he then throws it at the boar catching its attention. "It's when you hit the target that will ensure get his attention."
Koharu blinked as she had no idea what he was talking about.
"When you activate a skill, wait for your target to come, then you unleash the skill and take your target out at the right time" Xavier continues explaining as he boars and holds it down.
"Skills?" Koharu muttered.
"There are many weapons and skills in this game. You have dagger skills, right? Use it" Xavier suggested.
Koharu narrows her eyes as she tries to understand him a bit before her eyes widen. She stands up on her feet again, pulling out her dagger thrusting her arm back a bit before the dagger starts glowing, Xavier bashing the boar as it charges towards her now, Koharu let out a scream and straight stab the boar then disappeared in pixelation.
She looked at what happened and couldn't believe it when the boar disappeared. "I...did it" Koharu speechless before letting out a cheer. "Yes, I did it! I really did it!"
"Yeah, that's nice, even though that boar is weak than the slimes" Xavier interrupted causing Koharu to stop cheering. "But don't think this is over yet, you still need exp to level up because stronger, so are you coming or what?" he asked.
Koharu looks down growing, even though she is completely new to playing games, she wants to do and play more. "Alright I'm coming," she said seriously before seeing Xavier already walking away. "Hey wait for me!" she yelled while running after him.
Hours had passed by Xavier and Koharu were exploring down the dungeon while taking down monsters. Koharu was having a great time playing her first game while Xavier was uncomfortable around her and always walking from her. Just then the two walk out of the dungeon and stand outside as the sun is setting.
Xavier looks at his menu and sees what time it is. "Well looks like this is the end of the beta" he reads it.
"Yeah," Koharu said sadly of the beta ends. "That means I'm gonna be ready for the full version!" Then she shouted out happily excited for the release to come.
"Maybe you could at least calm down before falling down on your bottom," Xavier said in a dull expression.
"I know you could change that attitude of your" Koharu pouted.
"I guess this is it, looks like we won't be seeing each other until the release, see you later," Xavier said his goodbye as he was about to log out of the beta.
"Wait," Xavier stops and looks at Koharu. "Before you go, can you promise me something?"
"Promise when the game is a full release, can we meet again?" she asked as Xavier blinked in confusion.
"But, don't you want to see anyone else other than me" Xavier wondered as he liked to be alone and now being with anyone or at a party.
"I know, even though you're rude, you're also kind to teach me. I like you around….and I wanna play with you again" Koharu replied as this got Xavier speechless. "When the game is released, can we meet each other again, and I wanna see that smile on you, promise me that."
"I….I…." Xavier speechless as he doesn't know what to say to her. No one has ever asked him to join forever. He then took a deep breath and replied to her. "A-Alright, that's a promise."
"Kay, see you," Koharu said goodbye before vanishing in front of him.
Xavier looks down for a bit before logging himself out of the beta for the full version to come out.
Two months soon passed, as the popular game 'Sword Art Online' was finally released to the public. The young man was watching a live stream talking about the game on his laptop before looking through the window as he saw no one was out there: no car noise, no people walking, it's all empty cause of the popular game out everyone just stays home and play the new MMORPG game.
The young man looked at the time and it was twelve fifty-six he placed the NerveGear on his head, connecting it to his laptop, placing the game in, and lay down on his bed. As the young man waited for the time to enter he was thinking about Koharu in his visions, remembering the last time she saw her.
"When the game is released, can we meet each other again, and I wanna see that smile on you, promise me that."
"I'll see you there, that's a promise" He closed his eyes and let out a mouth open saying the word to enter the virtual game.
"Link start."
With that, he dives into the virtual access to his account for the beta and enters the virtual world of swords.
He opened his eyes and looked at his hand as he is Xavier now, standing in a town where all players begin their game, a lot more players joined that are playing celebrities or entering the game. But they have no idea what happens when they enter the game.
Millions of players were standing in the plaza talking, Xavier was standing there looking around trying to find her. But there was no sign of her as a crowd of people were everywhere she could be anywhere around the plaza. He kept looking around but still no sign until he heard a shout.
"Hey! I'm over here!" Xavier looks and sees the person he was looking for as Koharu walks up to him with a bright smile on her face. "I finally found you, it was hard to find you! Hey Xavier! It's been months, hasn't it?" Koharu said.
Xavier didn't say anything back to her as he only stared at her, Koharu wondered something off of him. "H-Hey, are you alright?" She asked before he snapped Xavier snapped out of it.
"Y-Yeah I'm fine" Xavier replied back before turning around.
"Listen, there's something I want to ask you," Koharu said as Xavier wondered as he turned back towards her with his eyebrow raised up. "Can you teach me everything to fight monsters again?"
Xavier was dumbstruck by what she asked. "Didn't you already know how to fight months ago" he reminded her when he taught her everything how to fight back in the beta.
"I know but it was months ago!" Koharu pouted at him. "And I want to get stronger as I can so can you so please teach me again," she asked with her hands clap together.
"You can't be serious," Xavier grumbled but accepted. "Fine, let's get ready and head to the field."
"Right!" Koharu exclaimed excitedly.
"Gahhh!" Koharu cried out as fall down on the grass after getting tackled by a boar.
"Seriously again, that's the fourth time you got knocked out the sixth time" Xavier sighs.
"Sorry" Koharu frowned.
"Remember about the system called initial motions" Xavier reminded her. "Get your target by your skill at the right time."
"I know but it's been months I guess I forgot all about it" Koharu sighs.
"Then maybe you need some more help then" then they heard someone calling out as they turned and saw a Player standing at the hills.
He was a tall man with a goatee on his chin, brown eyes, reddish mid-long hair between his shoulders. He wears a white tunic with brown lining, brown leather armour chest, gloves, light brown boots, dark brown pants, a red bandanna, and a one-handed curved blade.
"The names Klein, nice to meet you" he introduced himself as he grinned smiling at them.
"My name is Koharu and this is Xavier," she introduces herself and Xavier which he wasn't happy about but growled. "You know how to combat trains?"
"Combat training, huh?" Klein thinks before popping a bright idea. "I can show you how I fight and I'll let Kirito teach you the basics."
"Kirito?" Xavier muttered.
"Don't drag me into this" then they heard a different sound as they saw another tall man who was ridiculously handsome, with black long hair and eyes. Wearing a blue tunic with grey lining, light brown leather chest armour, brown gloves, light brown boots, dark brown pants, and a sword hanging on his back similar to Xavier.
"Come on, just teach this cutie," Klein begged, shaking his arms before the black hair player sighs. "Anyways here is my boy Kirito, he can teach you how to fight."
"Can't you do it yourself and seriously, 'boy'?" Kirito grumbled, Klein then wrapped his arm around Kirito's neck.
"Come on, at least give her some pointers, otherwise she'd just fall down on her butt every time a boar attacks her!" Klein begged him.
"Y-You saw me! You better not tell anyone" Koharu shouted at him with blushes.
"Whoops," Klein squealed as he should have never said that out loud before turning his head back to Kirito. "But look I'll show her the basics and you show her how, since you're the expert."
Kirito lets out a sigh but he agrees with him as Klein now teaches Koharu how to fight and use skills while Kirito is watching until Xavier approaches.
"I'm gonna guess you got dragged into teaching him?" Xavier wondered.
"Yeah but really need some help anyway" Kirito replied, before turning around and seeing Xavier hand out.
"So your name is Kirito, my name is Xavier" he introduced himself as Kirito accepted and shook his hands.
"Nice to meet you, Xavier," Kirito greeted him. "So I guess you bump into her and ask to teach her how to fight huh?"
"Actually we both met at the beta," Xavier said.
This surprises Kirito when Xavier said beta. "I guess the three of us played in the beta then," Kirito said. "But why are you teaching when she plays the beta?" he asked.
"Unfortunately, Koharu forgot how to play two months ago" Xavier replied before Kirito chuckled with a smile.
"Well, it's a good thing you two made a promise to meet again. You promised her to meet when the full game is released?" Kirito wondered about that.
"I usually like to play alone, but…... I did promise her to meet again when the game released" Xavier said as he did make her a promise back at the beta. "What about you, you play alone in the beta as well?"
"Yeah, I play solo" Kirito replied.
"Then how did you end up with him?" Xavier wonders as he sees Klein showing Koharu how to fight.
"Klein followed me when he noticed me knowing around and figured out I played at the beta. He asked me for a pointer, so I agreed and taught him how to play" Kirito explained how he met him in the first place.
"Did he get tackled by a boar?"
"You tell me" Kirito smiled before both him and Xavier chuckled quietly so that Klein and Koharu couldn't hear them.
"Hey, what are you two laughing!" Klein hollered at the two of them wondering what they were laughing about.
"Nothing!"
"Just keep teaching her!"
The two of them replied back to themselves from Klein and Koharu.
Then Kirito walked up to them and spoke up. "Hey, Koharu right?" he said as Koharu nodded, he then showed her the stance with her left hand at the back and right holding her dagger.
"Like this?" she asked him.
"Yeah like that," Kirito replied.
As Klein was holding the boar down before sending it away as the boar charges towards Koharu, she stood there before her dagger started glowing. Koharu then charges and slashes the boar as it disappears in pixelation, she lets out a cheer as Klein joins her Kirito smile to see that. But unknown to them Xavier watched her cheer this also made him smile as well.
After fighting monsters all day, they rest as they up a hill while they watch the view with the sun setting down.
"It's so beautiful," Koharu said, looking at the view.
"You tell me. When I look around, I can't believe it. We're inside a game bro!" Klein said when he can't believe himself. "Whoever made is a genius. This thing is amazing, makes me glad I was born where I was you know?"
"It's not that big a deal," Kirito said.
"Cut me some slack, it's my first full dive" Klein chuckled.
"So you never used a NerveGear until today is your first time, huh?" Xavier asked him.
"Ah huh, I soon got the money to get it, I rushed out and bought all the hardware to play SAO. stood in line and scored one of the ten thousand hard copies, guess you can say I was pretty lucky. Although, you three were lucky to get the beta tested, Dude, only a thousand people get the chance."
"Yeah, I guess we were lucky," Kirito said, scratching his head as he, Xavier, and Koharu luckily play the beta test.
"Hey, mind if I ask how far you three got in the beta?" Klein asked, wondering if they completed the beta.
"Uh, two months and I could get through to floor eight" Kirito replied.
"Three months and I only got to floor thirteen" Xavier replied next.
"Wow, the thirteen floors, that's impressive," Klein said as he and Kirito were surprised he made it that far in the beta. "What about you Koharu, how far did you?"
"Uh...ah...well" Koharu speechless before replying back. "I've never played video games in my whole life to tell you the truth."
"What?!" Klein gasp shocked to hear that.
"Then this is your first time playing SAO then. I don't wanna be rude but what've you been in your real life?" Kirito asked her.
Koharu looks down on the ground with the wind blowing. "Well, I've been doing piano lessons and doing homework. But then I got bored of doing the exact same thing every day and I never got to do anything else" she explained her story before looking up at the sky. "So I decided to buy a nerve when suddenly I got the beta test."
"Well if you need someone to be with them you can call me!" Klein grinned at her.
"Uh, yeah I think I'd stick with Xavier," Koharu said, causing Klein to whine down on the ground after he got rejected.
"But it doesn't matter how far I got in the beta because now I can get through a month, easy" Kirito said smiling he can clear the floors.
They all stare at him if he can clear this game in a month. "Sounds to me like you're really into this," Klein said, noting how Kirito was really into SAO.
"Yeah, you could say that," Kirito admitted as he had been waiting for this game to be released, he pulled his sword out and looked at it. "During the beta test, SAO was the only thing in my mind, day and night. In this world, a single blade can take you anywhere you wanna go. And even though it's a virtual world, I feel more alive in here than I ever did in the real one" Xavier looks at him as Kirito stares at his sword, he wonders what was his life back in the real world.
Kirito smiled before sheathing back his sword. "Anyway, you three wanna do some more hunting?" He asked them.
"I still want to hunt, I wanna be stronger than ever," Koharu said smiling.
"Me well, just to make sure she doesn't mess" Xavier agrees when Koharu pouted from that.
"Well you know it," Klein agreed as well. "But the thing is," he said when his stomach grumbled. "I'm really hungry, I have to log out."
"Too bad the food here is just virtual so it can only satisfy your virtual stomach" Xavier said.
"Yeah for real, that's why I ordered a pizza for five-thirty" Klein smirked as he ordered pizza before entering the game.
"So you prepare instead of being a doofus," Xavier said.
"What does that mean!?" Klein growled when he heard Xavier's last word.
"Well, the thing is you're not a very reliable guy at this point" Xavier replied to Klein his reasons why.
"For your information, I was in charge of a guild in the other game and I have friends, so you can rely on me, honest!" Klein shouted and pointed his finger at him.
"Come on, where are all the friends here," Koharu said, trying to calm down.
"Fine! I'll show you I'm a reliable guy, right after I eat, besides, the game can wait until I get my pizza on and I'll show you what I really am!"
"I guess so," Xavier said, uncertain of Klein.
"Hey, speaking of which, I was gonna meet up with some people I know from another game, I don't know what you three are up to after this so, if uh, you know, if you want, you can friend them and hang with us?"
"I'm good," Xavier replied, making Klein growl.
"Maybe someday," Koharu said one day.
But for Kirito as he has an uncertain expression on it.
"Uh don't worry, it's cool Kirito if you don't want no pressure," Klein said as he will show his friends some other time. "I can already introduce them to another time or something."
"Yeah sorry" Kirito responded before looking down frowning, Xavier looked at him wondering what was going on in his life. "Thanks anyway."
"No, hey, I should be doing all the thinking," Klein said as he approached him, placing his hand on Kirito's shoulders. Hey, one of these days I promise I'll pay you back for all the help, virtually that is" giving him a thumbs up.
"Yeah, right," Kirito said as if that would happen.
"Thanks for everything man, really" Kirito then noticed Klein's right hand. reaching out to him. "Guess I'll see you around then."
"If there's anything else you want to know, message me," Kirito said as he accepted and shook hands.
"Aw sweet! I'll do that" Klein accepted as the two will meet again.
Klein waved goodbye at them as he pulled out his screen as he was about to logout in this world, Kirito, Xavier, and Koharu were together to go do more hunting.
"Ready you two?" Kirito asked as the two nodded.
As they were about to head out to go do more hunting. "Huh?" Then they heard Klein as he stood there wondering something.
"What's wrong?" Koharu asked him what was wrong.
"Yeah, where's the logout button to?" Klein asked.
"It should be there," Kirito said as it is a log out on the menu.
"Hm, nope, it's not there" Klein replied.
This got Xavier concerned as he pulled out his main menu and looked at the bottom when he saw that the logout button wasn't there.
"It should be at the bottom of your main menu" Kirito explained when he pulls out his menu and sees that he too doesn't have a logout button.
"See not there," Klein said.
"Your right, it's not" Kirito was surprised.
Koharu checks hers and sees that there is no logout button. "Then where is the logout button?" She wondered.
"Ah well, today's what, the first day out of beta there gotta be some bugs, bet the service people are freaking out right now" Klein chuckled.
"Try not to freak out Klein but it's just five twenty-five" Xavier points out the time to Klein.
Klein was silent for a moment before he let it all out. "OH MY GOD! MY TERIYAKI MAYO PIZZA AND GINGER ALE!" he exclaimed freaking out of his pizza order will be coming soon.
"Can't you call the Game Master?" Xavier pointed out to him as Klein stopped freaking out.
"Yeah I did that, but nothing's happening, he's not picking it up," Klein said as he already called but no response. "I wonder if there's another way to logout in this thing?"
The group went silent as they thought of a way to logout of this game when Kirito spoke up.
"No, whenever a player wants to log out of SAO, the only way they can do it is by reading the manual," Kirito explained with a serious expression.
"That can't be right! There's gotta be some other way out! RETURN! LOGOUT! ESCAPE!" Klein shouted while posing, trying to log out of SAO, but nothing happened as he was still here.
The sun was covered by clouds as they were all quiet.
"Told you so, and there's no emergency log out in the manual either" Kirito continued as this got Xavier concerned too.
"No way, you're kidding?" Klein speechless.
"You mean we can't log out?" Koharu asked worriedly.
"I know, I'll just rip that NerveGear off my head," Klein thought of an idea and placed his hands on his head and pulled out.
"No, you can't, your mind is separated as your body won't be about to move in the real world," Xavier said to them. "The NerveGear only accepts the commands in the game using an interface built in the rigid ''he explains pointing his finger at his head.
Both Klein and Koharu were shocked after what Xavier explained, Kirito understands as he looks through the instruction of the NerveGear as well.
"Seriously, so now we wait until someone gets around fixing the bug!" Klein complained.
"But can't the person from the real world remove the NerveGear off?" Koharu wondered if that was another way.
"That could work, if you had someone there, beside me I live alone just now. What about you guys?" Xavier explained as he wondered if they have anyone they have in the real world.
"I live alone too," Klein replied who is alone as well. "What about all of you?"
"My parents are at work so they'll be home until tomorrow" Koharu replied to him.
"I got a mom and a sister, and I'm pretty sure they'll notice dinner time-" Kirito replied just when Klein started him and grabbed his shoulders.
"Y-You got a sister! How old is she!? What's she like!?" Klein asked of excitement when he interrupted and asked anything else about Kirito's sister.
"Ah, she's into sports and hates games and she's definitely not your type, man! She wouldn't date a gamer if he's the la-."
"Who cares, I wanna-!" Klein yelled interrupting him before getting hit by the crotch causing him to fall down in pain before realizing. "Oh right, getting by the balls doesn't hurt."
"Enough of this and get serious, if we can't log out of this game, then how do we suppose we do that!" Xavier yells angrily.
"Oh come it's just a game, besides it's just a bug anyway," Klein said.
"I don't think this bug would have no logout button for this, then how do players even get out of this world then" Xavier points out with his arms crossed.
"He's right, it's gonna have problems in the game" Kirito agrees with him.
"Maybe the people who made it are working on it right" Koharu suggested if the people are noticing.
"Yeah, the developers might notice happening, because they can shut down the server and log everyone out, but why haven't they made an announcement?" Kirito wondered why haven't the developers hadn't alerted all the players.
Then the bell rang so loudly, they all heard it from a mile away, Xavier, Koharu, Kirito, and Klein heard when they suddenly saw a bright white light they could see nothing.
Once it dies down they all look around and find themselves back to the town where they began in this game, soon other players are also appearing at the same place.
"Someone forced to teleport?" Kirito muttered as Xavier wondered himself the same, but who did.
The bell soon stops ringing as all the players of SAO stood there wondering what is happening as they all seem to cannot log out as well.
"Look up there!"
Someone pointed out as there was something in the sky when they all took a look and saw there was a red hexagon alert up there, blinking with the word 'WARNING'.
"Now what's happening?" Xavier muttered.
Then the sky was covered by hexagon alert with the words 'WARNING' and 'SYSTEM ANNOUNCEMENT' covering the sky turning crimson red, oozes of red blood falling down from the gaps of the hexagon alert and when it merged together something.
"What the hell is that thing?" Klein asked.
Soon the red blood forms into a large red cloaking-wearing man, everyone wonders who that is, the red cloak man wipes his arms. "Attention players, I welcome you to my world."
Xavier narrowed his eyes suspiciously of that man as he sounded so familiar. "What's he mean by that?" He heard Kirito wondering who he is.
"My name is Akihito Kayaba, and as of this moment, I am in control of this world" he introduced himself. This causes Xavier to be shocked with his eyes widened when the red-cloaked man introduced his name, while everyone was confused about that really the man that made Sword Art Online. "I'm sure most of you have already noticed an item missing on your main menus: the logout button" he pulls down his menu and shows the empty space. "Lend be a sure you, this is not a defect in the game, I repeat this is not a defect, this is how Sword Art Online was designed to be."
"He's kidding right?" Klein asked as he wondered if this is some kind of a joke.
"You cannot log yourself out of SAO, and no one from the outside will be able to shut down or remove nerve ear from your head. If anyone attempts to do so, a transmitter inside of the NerveGear will discharge a microwave signal in your skull, destroying your brain and ending your life."
This causes some of the players to be confused but some of them are a bit frightened of life while some think this is some kind of joke.
Koharu tugs at Xavier's shirt, getting his attention. "Xavier, is he right?" She asked. However, Xavier didn't respond as he stood there with his eyes shade of no emotions.
"Uh, are you listening to this crap, he gotta be nuts, right. Right, Kirito?" Klein grunted as he didn't believe it at Kirito
"Kayaba isn't joking around," Klein turned towards Xavier as he spoke up. "The transmitter signal on your safety is disabled the microwaves on your headgear will fry your brain" this causes Koharu to be shocked by the horror of what he said.
"Your...kidding?" Klein asked if Xavier was playing around as well.
"No...he's right, the transmitter on the headgear works just like a microwave, if the safety is disabled they could fry your brain, just like Xavier said" Kirito explained to them.
"What about the battery on the NerveGear?" Koharu wondered.
"Yeah, couldn't someone cut the power?"
"I don't think so" Xavier interrupted Klein as he told him that was not gonna happen.
"The NerveGear has an eternal battery" Kirito explained his reason as the batter on the NerveGear won't doesn't down.
Klein speechless as he shivers over what Kirito explains and lets down a scowl. "This is crazy! It's totally crazy!" He shouted.
"Despite my warning, the families and friends of some of the players have attempted removing the NerveGear. An unfortunate decision to save the least" Kayabo continued explaining to all of the players. "As a result, the game now has two hundred thirteen fewer players than when it began. They've been from both Aincrad and the real world."
"W-What?" Koharu gulps with his eyes widened and hides behind Xavier.
"Two hundred thirteen?" Kirito said, shocked that the player left SAO.
"No way….I don't believe this!" Klein shouted.
"As you can see, international media outlets have round the clock coverage of everything, including the deaths" then screen pop around Kayaba as he shows all of the media and news in the real world. "At this point, it's safe to assume the likelihood of a NerveGear being removed is minimal at best. I hope this brings you comfort as you tried to clear the game" he shows them footage of a girl crying with her mother with her when someone important to them.
This made Kirito gasp gritted his teeth and glared back at Kayaba
angrily. "It's important to remember the following, there is no longer any way to revive someone within the game. If your HP reaches zero, your avatar will be deleted from the system, forever. And the NerveGear will simultaneously destroy your brain."
This causes Koharu to cover her mouth, horrified by what Kayaba said she hides behind Xavier as he notices her and glares back at Kayaba. "He…..He can't do that!? How could he!?" He thought as he wonders what happens when his HP drops to zero his avatar will disappear, if that happens his life will end.
All of the players were speechless and stunned by what Kayaba said as they can't believe it either. If their avatar is deleted from the system then their lives end in the real world as well.
"There is only one way for a player to escape now, you must clear the game" Kayaba opens up another menu and shows them a holographic map of Aincrad. "Right now, you're gathered on floor one, the lowest level of Aincrad. If you could get through the dungeon and defeat the boss, you may advance to the next floor, defeat the boss on floor one hundred and you will clear the game."
"Floor one hundred?" Xavier muttered as he looked at the top of the map.
All of the players were confused by what Kayaba said about how to escape this game.
"We can't all hundred floors, that freaking impossible. Even the beta tester couldn't make it that high!" Klein shouted, realizing that those who played the beta could make it as well.
But as for Kirito, he was silent and looked at the map.
"Last but not least, I've placed a little present at the item storage of every player. Please have a look" Kayaba said.
Xavier pulls out his main menu and scrolls down before he spots an item there called 'Mirror'. He looks concerned as presses it before the mirror appears as Xavier looks at it and nothing happens. Then he heard someone yelling as he saw something happening Koharu as she was glowing, he suddenly glowed and see a white vision.
Once the light down Xavier spotted Koharu still on the ground. "Koharu. Are you alright?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm fi-" Koharu replied when she froze and looked at Xavier. "Who are you?"
Xavier was confused when she asked. "It's me, Xavier?" He replied.
"Wait, Xavier, that's you?" Koharu gasped.
This got Xavier confused before realizing what she meant and looked at the mirror and saw that his face was changed as he is medium tall, light skin, dark brown hair with two long ones at the front, and light platinum eyes.
He stands up and looks around seeing all of the player's avatar changes, they were all stunned by what happened.
"No, Xavier is that you!" He turns around and sees two players looking at him surprised.
Xavier looks at both of them before realizing the two. "Wait, Klein, Kirito, is that you two?" he asked
Klein still has his bandana on his head but his appearance changes, his hand brownish spiked up, hooked nose, and slightly beard on his chin.
For Kirito, his height was shortened as he must be around highschool, slightly long but neat black hair and black eyes, and his face showed no masculinity mistaking him for a girl.
"Yeah, it's us," Kirito said, ensuring that he is Kirito and the other one is Klein. "The NerveGear must have a high-density signal inside the new shear rig, it can see what our face looks like in the real world."
"But how did that NerveGear scan our height and weight?" Xavier wondered as he looked at himself and realized he was the same size as the real world.
"When we all first put the NerveGear on, they did this calibration thing, asking you to touch your body all over, remember?" Klein explained, Xavier did remember when he put on the NerveGear. "But if they scan our real body from the real world, why is Koharu the only one who still has her avatar?" Klein asked as they all looked at Koharu who seem to be the same.
"Well, actually when I made my avatar I tried to make it look like my real body back in the real world" Koharu explained her reason when she made her avatar real to her real body. "But why would Kayaba do this?"
"I know, this is…..what's the point! Why would anyone do this to us!?" Klein placed his right hand on his head in confusion and frustration.
Then Kirito pointed his finger at Kayaba. "I think he's about to tell us," he said.
As the developer of SAO, Kayaba was about to explain. "Right now, you're probably wondering why? Why would Akihiko Kayaba, developer of Sword Art Online do this?' Ultimately my goal was a simple one. The reason why I created Sword Art Online was to control the fate of a world of my design."
With that Kirito glares at him after his reason why. "Kayaba," he growled at him after he explained his reason.
"As you can see, I have achieved my goal" Xavier glares at him before looking down at the ground. "This marks the end of the tutorial and the official launch of Sword Art Online. Players, I wish you the best of luck" he said in his final words before his body had smoke coming out and was about to fade away. The red blood reabsorbed through the gap of the red hexagon sign and disappeared back to the original sky.
Everyone was silent in the area, stunned by what Kayaba who created this game announced. they all stared at the sky where he disappeared. But for Xavier, he still looks at the ground score tilting his head and sees the sky as well. "Kayaba is that the reason why you wanted this! Everything you work so hard to make your fantasy come true!" Xavier thought gripping his hand so hard. "You created the NerveGear, you're a genius, your technology was a revolution. But you trapped everyone here, Kayaba, you bastard, you're killing everyone's lives!"
Then he heard a shattered object when a girl screaming, one by one, all the players started to lose it as the game they all entered became a nightmare. Xavier looks around and sees every player crying, begging to be back in the real world, one wrong move everyone panicking as he realizes that he lost sight of Kirito and Klein around, but spotted Koharu and reached out his hand at her.
"Come on, we're leaving!" Xavier shouted and grabbed her hand. "Kohari let's go!" But then he noticed Koharu crying with tears coming out.
"W-We can't home…..we're trapped here….forever…." Koharu sobbed.
Xavier looks for a moment before drags her through the crowd of players panicking, but he looks back and still sees her crying. Once they get away from the place Xavier and Koharu head to the market to be alone. Koharu stands down on a stone bench but is still terrified while Xavier stands up in front of her wondering if she is alright.
"Koharu, are you alright?" Xavier asked her.
But Koharu still has some tears coming out of her eyes as she looks up and sees Xavier who looks concerned. "I'm sorry…... I'm sorry you have to see that back there. Of the part that we'll die here if we don't clear this game. I'm sorry…..I couldn't take it anymore…..I'm so sorry I can't handle this…" she covered her face and continued crying.
Xavier didn't say anything as he only looks at her before walking away to give her space. But as he stood there alone, he clenched his fist hard, angrily at what Kayaba had done, trapping everyone until they cleared one hundred floors. He was so mad at him before noticing someone familiar and saw Kirito running down until stop in front of Xavier as both of them stared at each other silently.
"Xavier?" Kirito spoke up.
"Kirito," Xavier said before noticing one mission g. "Where's Klein?"
Kirito frowned down to the ground. "Klein went back to the plaza and looked for his friends," he replied.
Xavier was surprised but did remember he was gonna meet up with them. "So what are we gonna do when we're all trapped here?" He asked him.
"What I'm gonna do is to head to another town right away. With the skill from the beta, I know shortcuts, and pathways I should avoid. I may be level one, but if I can get to another town I can level up faster" Kirito explained that he will head to another town right away while looking at his main menu map.
But when he tilted his head up and noticed Xavier who frowning sadness. "Are you thinking about Koharu?" he asked as this humps him.
"I guess...but" Xavier speechless replied back as he wondered what he was going to do if he left her.
Kirito looks concerned as he notices Koharu wrapping around his legs lean close to her chest and covering her face. "Look I know what you're thinking, but are you sure you want to leave Koharu, she barely knows about this game. What she needs is someone by her side and teaches her to survive."
Xavier was surprised as he stared at Kirito. "But..I…" he didn't say anything.
"Look I can't bring anyone with me, so I'm going to clear every floor and free everyone from this game. This is my own path to choose, and you should too" Kirito said before walking past him.
"Wait," Xavier spoke as Kirito stopped and looked at him to see what he was going to say. "Take care of yourself."
"You too," Kirito replied before running off leaving Xavier alone.
Xavier turns his head back to Koharu while thinking this though if he stays with her or not. "Staring at someone that cared" then he heard someone speak up and look around, no one is there. "Down here" he looks down and sees a small girl wearing a hoodie cloak and leather armour, her hair is curly golden-brown hair, brown eyes, and whisker marks. "Names Argo, how you do" she introduced herself.
"Xavier" Xavier introduced as well.
"Pretty crazy day for all of us huh" Argo snickered. "Don't worry, I won't bite."
Xavier grumbled before turning around and walking away from her, but Argo followed him and rushed upfront. "Look, I know what you're thinking but we both know that no one gonna helps us, they should've done it by now" she explained. "So I'm gonna give you a choice: one wait for help from the real world. Or two take action, pick your choice."
Xavier thinks back after Kayaba announced when everyone started panicking about being trapped here and remembered what he saw in Koharu.
"W-We can't home…..we're trapped here….forever…." Koharu sobbed.
He still remembers before looking back and seeing her in the dark, Xavier let out a sigh and spoke up. "There's one, I'm not gonna run," he replied.
Argo snickered. "That's good to hear, but first thing first, you need cash. You need better equipment to strengthen your states, and the only way to do so is to kill monsters or do quests. I know of a few easy quests you can take at a good price. Interested?" Xavier pays attention to what Argo explained. "Just don't forget to let your guard down because this is your one shot!"
The next day at the field, since Kayaba trapped all of the players in this game until they cleared, they all had to clear floor one to get to the second floor.
Xavier swings down his sword slashing at a vicious wolf, but the wolf howls and charges at him. Before Xavier's sword glows and straight stabs it as the wolf disappears in pixelation as he receives exp on his main menu.
But for Koharu she stood in front of the wolf as it growled at her, she was frightened before backing up a bit and fell down. Koharu looks around as she notices all of the players trying to beat the wolves, but none of them weren't able to beat at least one of them, letting the attack by the wolves cause them to let out a scream and disappear in pixelation.
Koharu covered her mouth with her hand as she saw the horrors of what happened when this game became a death game for all players, she couldn't take it anymore and collapse on the ground. "No...this can't be happening…...no…..no…" she muttered with tears coming out.
Then a wolf approaches her and opens its mouth at her, Koharu covers herself as she is about to meet her end.
But then Xavier rushes in and swings his sword at the wolf's jaw, cutting it in two as the wolf disappeared in pixelation.
"Hey, are you alright?" he asked her.
Koharu cries as she looks at him. "I can't do it…... I can't get stronger" she sobbed while wiping her tears. "All those players, did they actually die…... I didn't see any blood, not one blood…."
Xavier frowned when he saw her crying. "I guess we have to assume it would happen," he said before looking down at the ground as he narrowed his eyes and grit his teeth. "Damn it…... Kayaba, because of you we have to live now and clear this floor! No one has to die!" He then stands up and reaches his hand out to her as Koharu notices and looks at him. "Koharu…..let's finish this quest…..together."
Koharu was surprised when he said that. "But, won't I just slow you down?" She wonders.
"It doesn't matter, but like all, we're together we can get stronger," Xavier said to her, however, Koharu looks down as she still thinks she will slow him down. "Look I know you're not that strong or played games, but this is no longer a game.
Kirito was running through the field when a monster showed, he charged towards it and slash it with his sword.
"There's no one we can call from the real world."
In the streets, there was a red-cloaked girl and was walking down with a motionless expression.
"And there's no way we can escape this game."
Argo was looking at the sky while leaning on a wall with concern.
"If we die there, no way we can be brought back, will die in here and the real world."
"Koharu, please, I know said all those things to you, but I take it all back, you'll wanna get stronger if you stick with me. Besides, I'm the only person you can trust" he said.
Koharu wipes the tears off as he looks at Xavier as he suddenly smiles, she reaches out her hand and grabs his hand. "Okay, I'll get stronger and beat this.
"Good, now let's go!" Xavier said, dragging Koharu as the two ran down the field.
As they kept running down they saw a giant monster appear as it charged towards them.
"Ready Koharu! Let's do it together!" Xavier hollered.
"Right!" Koharu responded.
The two pull out their weapons as they start glowing and charge towards the giant monster and slash it.
Hours later Xavier and Koharu sat down on the ground back to back after defeating all of the monsters from the field. They were exhausted and looked up at the sky as the sun was setting.
"Xavier…" Koharu spoke up as he heard her.
"Yeah" Xavier responded.
"How long will this game last?"
Xavier thinks before answering her question. "More like years, but don't worry, as long as we're together, we will clear this game" he replied. "Someday, I will head back to the real world, that's a promise" Koharu listened before looking at the sky as well. This is just the beginning.

Six weeks had passed by as Xavier was in Black iron Palace and looked at a large stone tablet as he looked closer to the tablet and saw the names of every player.
He clutched his hand tight as he remembered back at the beta this was supposed to be called 'The Room of Resurrection' but it's no longer there since Kayaba changed it and the large stone tablet was now called 'Monument of Life'. Xavier looks at all the names of each player as he sees all of them were crossed out meaning all of them are already dead.
Xavier turns around and leaves her when he passes by a player with light silver hair, fair skin, and yellow eyes. He wears a purple long tunic shirt with gray lining, dark brown pants, dark boots with gray lines, dark brown gloves, armour chest, and a sword hanging on his back.
"Hey, I wanna talk to you," he asked as Xavier stopped and listened. "If you have the power to change everything, what will you use it for?"
"It's that simple, if I do have any power, I would use it to save everyone I know" Xavier replied before leaving, the silver hair smirked and walked away from him. Their path of the meeting is only the beginning.
