(Demetri's - POV)
My little wolf needed time away. She needed the time to herself. I watched her flee. I could see in my mind's eye as she ran. I watched as she got far from the tribal grounds. I would find her if need be. I stayed by her mother's side then. Felix did approach me with Master Marcus.
"Master." I said in revenance.
"Demetri, I wish to share my condolences for your mate and her family." he spoke.
"Thank you. How is Signorina Isabella?" I asked him.
"She is doing well." he answered with a small smile as his eyes wandered to her.
She was with her father, and they were speaking to Sue and Seth. I could see it in his eyes. Isabella was already warming up to him. It had only been a few days and she, even as a human was already falling into the mate bond. It was a powerful bond indeed.
"What of the Cullens?" I asked him.
"I have spoken to Carlisle. He and his family are gone. Felix and I have been given permission to use his home for as long as we are here in Forks. Young Edward is to be reeducated in the proper ways of the Vampire hierarchy and in the rules. He is to report to Volterra in a month for Aro's evaluation." Marcus explained.
I nodded. It was more than reasonable. Too reasonable in my opinion. I simply would have beheaded him if it had been me. No one stand between me and my La Lupa. No one would interfere.
"Marcus." Isabella called as she came to his side.
"Dearest." He greeted as he curled his arm around her trim waist.
I was glad to see Master Marcus was no longer just the shell he had been for centuries. It was better. He was better. The Volturi would have their secret weapon back again. Master Marcus was a force to be reckoned with before Lady Didyme had passed. He was an integral part of the Volturi.
"Bella, Marcus, are you ready to head back?" Bella's father asked as he came up to us.
"I believe we are, Charlie." Marcus replied to him.
"Bells?" Charlie looked to Isabella.
"Yeah, sure Dad." Isabella answered Charlie.
"Felix?" Charlie looked to my best friend.
"I will meet you all back at your house. I would like to catch up with Demetri if that is alright?" Felix said mostly to Marcus.
"Demetri, huh? Sue said that you are Leah's new beau" Charlie said to me.
"Yes, I am." I answered him, "I plan to be her last."
"Good to hear it. After Sam broke her heart and got with her cousin, Leah's been extra prickly and angry." Charlie explained, "She deserves happiness."
"I plan to give her everything." I spoke.
"Good man. Alright, let's get out of here." Charlie says to the others.
Felix and I converse a bit more while they walk away, and other people begin to clear away. We carefully head for the woods and take off. Even as we run, I can hear the wolf pack running through the woods after us. I smirk at Felix. He hears them as well. We both can smell them too. Lots of wet dog smell. My La Lupa has the wet dog smell, but she masks it well with that delightful coconut bathing products she uses and the body spray. Of course, the hot blood rushing through her veins helps as well.
We get to a waterfall and jump across the chasm below it. We are heading away from Forks. I feel that it is only necessary since my La Lupa lives here that we don't eat the locals. I don't believe my La Lupa would be happy with me since she is a protector either. So, to Port Angeles we go. It really did not take us very long to get there either. We watched for a few minutes and made our selections of the people loitering in the alley. All drunk and seemed to be homeless. Would they be missed? Maybe, maybe not. But we were grateful for the nourishment they would provide for us.
We ate our fill and burned the bodies in a dumpster. Then we headed back to Forks. I used my gift to find my piccola. She was heading back towards her tribal lands. I grinned. I couldn't wait to get back to her. Oh, my Leah. We ran back through the tribal lands, once again we could hear the wolves running after us. Felix and I laughed loudly. I could the growls. I stopped suddenly. Felix looked to me.
"Go back to Master Marcus." I told him, "I'll be fine. They cannot harm me."
Felix nodded and headed back to Master Marcus. I waited as the wolves surrounded me. The big black wolf coming to the forefront. My Leah's ex, Sam. I cocked my head as I looked to him. Sam phased back into his human self and pulled his shorts on. I noticed then all had shorts rolled and tied to a back leg.
"Sam." I greeted.
"Leech." he said to me.
"Ah, to what do I owe this pleasure?" I asked with a smirk.
The other's phased and pulled their shorts on. Oh, what was this? I looked at each of them. All now etched into my brain for my tracking desires. None would ever be able to escape me if I so wished.
"You need to leave." Sam said to me.
"Oh, I will. I was ordered to be here with my La Lupa until she finishes her business. After we will return to Italy." I explained.
"Why are those other two here?" Sam questioned.
"Ah, Master Marcus is Signorina Isabella's mate. He is here to protect her, and Felix is Master Marcus's bodyguard. They, too, shall leave when Signorina Isabelle has conducted her business." I answered, it was no secret.
"No! Bella is not going to be a vampire." One of the young men shouted.
"Black, leave it." Sam ordered to the young man.
"All of you need to leave." Another man hissed, he was close to Sam.
"We will leave soon enough." I countered.
The man near Sam took a step forward towards me. I looked at him and my grin spread wider. Oh, he wanted to fight. I would gladly give him what he desires. I dropped myself down into a fighting stance. I was a warrior before I was changed. I didn't get to the age I am without knowing how to fight.
"Paul, don't lose your head." Sam voiced.
"He won't Sam. I won't tear it off." I said to Sam.
"Leech!" Paul hissed out body shaking.
"Paul, he's an imprint! You can't do this." the one Sam called Black said loudly.
Paul didn't listen. He burst forth as a giant wolf. A giant dark silver wolf. These wolves would be easier to kill than the true children of the moon. The werewolves are dangerous and much more powerful. I helped Master Caius hunt them to extinction. I could eradicate this pack if I so desired. But my La Lupa would be devastated. Speaking of my La Lupa... here she comes.
