Dean laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling while blasting his music through his headphones. He was going over the events of yesterday in his head, of kissing Cas and them talking things out. He was elated it hadn't ended in him losing Cas as a friend, and now he had the real possibility of dating his friend. That thought in particular freaked him out.

What if someone found out? What if John found out? That was Dean's main concern, his father coming home and learning his son had a crush on another boy. Surely he'd throw another bitch fit and yell at Dean, telling him how wrong having a crush on a boy was. Just as Dean's thoughts were spiraling, a loud knock on the bedroom door caught his attention.

Sam marched into the room before Dean could say anything, looking flustered and out of breath. Dean sat up on his bed, looking at the frazzled look on his baby brothers face. "What happened to you?" he asked, worry about Sam replacing his worry about their father. Sam glanced up at Dean, shaking his shaggy haired head. I really need to give him a haircut Dean thought briefly.

"Jessica Moore... That girl has it out for me, I swear!" Sam squawked, his eyes wide on Dean's face. "She probably just likes you, Sammy. Girls are weird about crushes." Dean stated, as if it were a fact everyone knew. "No, she thinks I kissed Meg Masters..." Sam made a face as he came to sit on the end of Dean's bed.

"Oh, well you've come to the right place young one." Dean announced with a ridiculous flourish of his hands, winking at Sam. "I'm only a couple years younger than you, Dean." Sam huffed indignantly. "Point still stands, Sammy, I know girls better." Dean stated. "So, did you kiss this Masters' girl?" Dean questioned before Sam could stop him again.

"No, but Ruby is going around saying I did! I think she's just mad I didn't let her cheat off my test..." Sam rolled his eyes. Dean nodded solemnly. He was getting the picture now, poor, innocent Sammy. "Dude, you have to set things straight with them. Talk to them, together." he offered calmly. Sam's eyes widened in fear.

"Are you insane?! Those girls will eat me alive!" Sam squeaked out, waving his hands in front of him frantically. "Trust me, Sam. I know a thing or two about talking shit out. You have to be honest with them." Dean offered. Sam's shoulders sagged, shrugging them. "What about you? What've you done to know about talking out your feelings, oh wise one?" Sam chuckled.

"If I tell you, you promise not to say anything?" Dean gave Sam a warning look. Sam mimed zipping his lips shut and locking them, tossing an invisible key over his shoulder as he nodded his head. "Cas and I are going on a date tomorrow, we ended up kind of kissing yesterday..." Dean whispered. Sam's face lit up at that.

"About time, I was starting to wonder if anything was ever gonna happen with you two." Sam laughed happily, punching Dean in the arm. "The heck does that mean?" Dean questioned rubbing his arm, Sam didn't look it but he was strong for a scrawny kid brother. "Dean, all you do is go on about Cas when he's not around." Sam shrugged, like duh, you idiot.

"Oh, huh, I mean we've been friends since I met him at school. I didn't think it was that bad." Dean frowned. "It's nothing to be ashamed of, I think it's nice you have someone." Sam beamed. "Wait, what?" Dean balked at Sam, his brows shooting into his hair. "I like Cas, he's cool. Totally not someone dad would ever approve of, I say screw him." Sam stated firmly.

"Where's this coming from?" Dean questioned, his hands unconsciously balling into fists in his lap. Sam shrugged again before answering. "Dad's a prick, and a shitty father. I know you think I'm too young to understand, but I heard all the shit he said about you..." "All the shit he said to you, the man is an ass." Sam said blatantly, shaking his head.

"Wow, I had no idea... Sorry you had to listen to him." Dean apologized like it had been his fault. Sam shook his head, patting Dean's arm. "I'm sorry he talked to you like that, he shouldn't have been that way with you, Dean." Sam frowned. "Thanks Sammy." Dean whispered, pulling Sam into a hug. "So, where are you taking Cas?" Sam asked when Dean let go of him.

-_-_-_

"Hello Dean." Castiel greeted shyly opening the front door to reveal Dean standing on the porch, holding out a single rose towards Cas. "Hey Cas, ready?" Dean responded as he accepted the rose, a hint of a blush coloring his cheeks. "Yes, let's go." Castiel smiled, taking Dean's hand as they walked down to the Impala.

Dean opened the passenger door, helping Castiel into the seat, closing the door before jogging around the hood to the driver side. He settled in behind the steering wheel, smiling when Castiel scooter closer across the seat as he pulled away from the curb. "Do I get to ask where you're taking me on our first official date?" Castiel inquired, smiling.

"It's a surprise, but I know you'll love it." Dean announced drumming his fingers on the steering wheel to the tune of Feels like the first time. Castiel hummed happily, leaning back into the seat. "If it's with you, I'm sure I will." Castiel placed his hand over Dean's on the seat between them.

Dean felt his cheeks flush at feeling Cas' hand on his, his stomach fluttering at the memory of them making out in his Baby. He would be perfectly fine with them finding some dirt road outside of town and just making out for hours on end, but he wanted to do this right and take Cas somewhere special to him.

Dean knew the perfect place.

The two of them rode in comfortable silence, only interrupted by Dean drumming out tunes on the steering wheel. Castiel had settled in beside Dean, their hands in his lap, their fingers intertwined together. Castiel couldn't help but be giddy at the thought of going on his first date with Dean.

He had spent the better half of last night imagining what they would possibly do.

Even if they just drove around for hours in Baby, he would love it. Though, now he was excited to see what Dean had planned for them. He simply enjoyed spending time with Dean, no matter the reason or activity. He never would have imagined their encounter yesterday would lead to them going out officially.
