It was a quiet walk to the school but Ellison decided to ask Timmy a few questions.
Ellison asked, "I know this is silly but humor me. What's your favorite color?"
Timmy raised a brow, "Red. Why?"
Ellison teased, "You seem more like a pink person."
Timmy sarcastically replied, "Gee I wonder why."
To that, the head of the Tang family laughed.
He asked, "Favorite food?"
Timmy answered, "Pizza."
Ellison teased, "But of course, that's every teenager's favorite." To that, the pink hatted boy laughed. Ellison told him, "Now go ahead and ask me something."
Timmy asked, "Uh okay…um…favorite place to eat?"
Ellison was a bit taken back by that question but managed to answer, "Cafe Felix." When Timmy gave him a confused look, he added, "It's a Greek restaurant in Brightburg."
Timmy knew that Trixie and him had gone there before the fire even happened. The food wasn't too expensive, which was to Timmy's total surprise. The staff was great and they had a great time.
Timmy then asked, "What's your favorite place to shop?"
Ellison replied, "Dacy's, or it used to be."
Timmy just nodded. He knew that it was going to be hard for them to adjust to things that used to be on a silver platter. Thankfully, they had arrived at the school before anything else happened. Crunch was waiting for them to let them in. He was in janitor clothing.
Crunch asked, "Mr. Tang? Timmy Turner?"
Ellison answered, "Yes thank you for opening the door for us."
Crunch stated, "Any time, you will find Principal Waxelplax in her office."
Timmy teased, "And not chasing any jelly donuts I hope."
To that, Crunch laughed. Ellison and Timmy went in as Crunch followed behind. They walked down the hall to Principal Waxelplax's office. The door was open and the two of them saw the principal smiling at them.
She told them, "C'mon in, both of ya. Crunch was starting to tell me a bit about what happened to Trixie."
Ellison and Timmy went into the office. Crunch closed the door for them, resuming his duties.
Ellison started to say, "So how much…?"
She offered, "Do I know?" To that, Ellison had nodded his head. She added, "Well, like I said it wasn't much."
Timmy commented, "Principal Waxelplax, on Saturday, the whole Tang mansion went up in a blaze with Trixie still inside."
Ellison added sadly, "The doctor said that she might be blind after all of this."
Upon saying that, Ellison started to cry. Timmy placed his hand on Ellison's shoulder. Waxelplax gave him a box of tissues. Ellison took a tissue, blowing his nose into it. He wiped his tears away but they kept coming back. Timmy wasn't trying to cry - for Trixie's sake. He turned to his principal.
He asked, "Does that mean Trixie would be transferred to a blind school?"
Waxelplax modestly answered, "I rather her stay at Dimmsdale Elementary. Since it is her last year here, we should make the most of it. We can change things to make sure that there is braille all around the school. But you know as well as I do if she does stay for the last year…"
Timmy finished, "She's gonna get bullied."
Ellison sniffled, "B - by Francis?"
Waxelplax shook her head, "It's not Francis I'm worried about."
Ellison raised a brow as Timmy froze. He knew exactly who was talking about.
Ellison asked, "T - Timmy? W - what is it?"
Timmy quickly answered, "Uh…it's nothing."
But both the principal and the hidden fairies in the room knew otherwise.
She quickly changed the subject, "So then, when would she be back then?"
Ellison wasn't sure but he knew that Trixie would be out for a while.
The head of the Tang household admitted, "I won't be sure until I visit her."
Timmy asked, "Mind if I go with you later today?"
Ellison agreed, "I don't mind at all. You, after all, would be a good boyfriend for Trixie after this is all over. And you have been a great secret friend for her."
Timmy paled, "You knew?"
Ellison laughed, "Of course I knew. And you know something? I'm proud of her."
Timmy whispered, "You have a funny way of showing it."
Waxelplax cleared her throat, "Anyways, call me later today when you know. You are free to go, Mr. Tang. Timmy, your first class starts pretty soon."
Ellison went out first to head back to the hotel. Timmy headed out after him, whispering a thank you to his principal. Principal Waxelplax waved him goodbye.
…
"Late today, eh, Turner?" Crocker snapped later that day. He started to say, "Is it because of your…"
Chester warned, "Hit the deck!"
Everyone ducked as Crocker spazzed, "FAIRY GODPARENTS!"
As he spazzed around the room, he failed to notice the open window. He fell out of the window, screaming about fairy godparents and into a rather deep hole.
A.J. laughed, "Hope he stays in there!"
Tootie stated, "That was awesome!"
The class laughed as they did activities to keep themselves busy. Timmy wasn't about to wish for a substitute teacher. He learned his lesson last time. Instead, he was wondering when Trixie was going to come back to school.
…
Later that day, Timmy and Elliot had gone to the hospital to see Trixie. Coral and Stephanie were with her. She made some great progress, most of all of her bandages were off. It was obvious that she had some burn bruises. Her hair was short too, it was to her shoulders. The bandages weren't off her eyes, however.
Both of them gushed, "Trixie!" Elliot ran over and hugged his daughter, "Oh you look better than what you did!"
Trixie slowly returned the hug, holding her father close. The two of them parted from their hug.
Timmy teased, "No hug for me?"
Trixie gushed, "Timmy!"
Coral replied, "Yeah, he's been here everyday visiting you."
Timmy hugged Trixie, kissing her cheek. Trixie blushed, giggling. They parted from their hug. Ellison turned to Stephanie and Coral.
He asked, "So when can Trixie go back to school?"
Trixie gulped, "School?"
Stephanie sarcastically replied, "Yes where you go to learn things."
Trixie asked, "Do I have to…?"
Timmy pointed out, "If I have to, you have to."
Coral stated, "Well, I would like to give it two weeks. It should be enough time for me to get in contact to get a seeing eye dog."
Ellison and Stephanie were in shock. Now how in the world were they…?
Timmy gushed, "Great idea! But I got to get home! Bye everyone!"
Before anything else was discussed, Timmy had left for his house to let his parents know about what had happened.
Ellison was stunned, "What just happened?"
Stephanie asked, "How are we going to afford this…?"
Coral replied, "Well, we will worry about money later down the line. Agreed?"
As the Tangs agreed, Trixie was deep in thought. Did she really want to return to school? Sure, she wanted to at least finish elementary school before the train wreck of high school. Her father soon headed out too, calling the principal, just leaving her with Coral. Stephanie had gone to get something to eat.
"You okay Trixie?"
Trixie admitted, "I don't know if I want to go back to school or not."
Coral replied, "I know but you need to finish your education."
Trixie sighed. She knew that she wasn't getting out of this one.
