So I skimmed through my original story "Psychic in the Light." And whew! This story is going to be almost totally different from that one. But it'll be along the same storyline with more focus on Lily. It does help that I have actually watched the entirety of the 2012 series compared to just the first two seasons. Anyway, I have written a new chapter for you, so I hope you'll enjoy it!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own anything related to "Meet the Robinsons" nor "TMNT." I only own Lilianna and Karena.

WILBUR'S POV
"Lily is Don's daughter?!" I yelled. "How is that possible?"
"Donnie was right," Karena explained. "Their world merged with ours when my reality collapsed after moving here. And time moved forward as normal for the Turtles. Donnie and April got married and gave birth to Lily together."
"So that means Lily was kidnapped," I said in realization, now feeling guilty for not paying more attention. "I cannot imagine how she must have felt all this time. So why the soft-core act?"
"Lily wanted to be sure she could trust you. She was scared, Wilbur, that she was going to go through this alone."
"Todayland is a long way from New York City. So what can we do?"
"That Thanksgiving idea we discussed earlier? Maybe we can even invite Donatello and April here, have a family reunion. But there's a catch: the Magician's back."
"He escaped prison?" I asked with shock in my voice. "How many more surprises are there going to be today?"
"Yes, the Magician is a free man, and he was the brains behind Lily's kidnapping. Wilbur, Lily can read thoughts, and when she told her father about them, Donnie recognized the Magician."
"What if the Magician discovers that Lily escaped?" I asked, and then let out a sigh. "I'm going to hate saying this, but it's not safe to have Lily return to New York until the Magician is put away for good. He and his goons could easily find Lily at her home."
"So now the question is, is it safe for Donnie to come here?"
"Karr, you've always been the Magician's enemy just for having the possession of a remote that we burned at Robinson Industries. It's possible he's using Don and Lily to get to you. But Don's an adult now, and even more, he's Lily's father. The choice is his to make."
"Okay, I'll return to the orphanage tomorrow and this time, Lily and I can talk to Donnie together."
"Meanwhile, I'll talk to my folks on having Lily stay here. She'll be safer here."
The next day…
KARENA'S POV
The door opened to reveal the caretaker of the orphanage.
"Hello again, Miss Edwards," she greeted me. "Would you like to speak to Lily again?"
"Yes, please."
"Come on in!"
I followed the caretaker back to the interview room.
"Would you like a refreshment?" the caretaker asked me.
"Water, please."
I waited in the interview room for about five minutes before the caretaker returned with my water and with Lily, this time wearing a lavender dress.
"Hi Karena!" Lily greeted me with a kind smile.
"Hey, Lily, did school go okay for you today?"
"Much better, yes," she replied. "I actually attended all my classes and participated. It is kind of boring, though."
"Let me guess: you're gifted as well as psychic?"
"If by gifted, you mean just as smart as my dad, then yes."
"Speaking of your dad, would you mind if we called him with my cell phone?"
"Sure! Let me type in his number."

DONATELLO'S POV
"Please do not forget to turn in your genome projects by Thursday at 11:59 PM Mountain Time. Have a good day!"
I stopped the video and put a smile on my face, proud of my accomplishments today. Suddenly, my T-Phone started to ring. It was another unknown number, but the last time I answered, it was my daughter calling. I picked it up again.
"Donatello."
"Hey Donnie."
"Umm, hello. May I ask who's speaking?"
"It's Karena. Karena Edwards?"
"Oh my gosh!" I replied excitedly. "Well, hello there! Long time no see!"
"I know, right? I never thought I'd hear from you again, but your daughter made it possible."
"Actually, Karena, it was you who made all of this possible," I replied with a smile. "If it wasn't for you, April and I wouldn't have gotten married and created a baby girl together. And if it wasn't for you, my dreams of being a doctor would not have come true. With that said, I want to thank you for everything."
"Oh Donnie, I'm flattered! But you did all the work! You helped me make my decision to move to Todayland."
"So I understand this is more than a social call?"
"There is someone who wants to say hi."
"Hi, Dad!" I heard Lily's voice loud and clear on the other side, and it made me smile even bigger.
"Hey, Lily Mae. It's great to hear from you. How's school going?"
"Boring, but better. I haven't been avoiding classes anymore."
"That is fantastic! I understand how hard this has been for you, but you're moving forward and trying new things. But don't worry, you'll be home before you know it."
"About that," Karena chimed back in. "Since we know the Magician is out of prison, and it was the Magician who was responsible for kidnapping Lily, it may not be a good idea for Lily to go back home right now. Not until the Magician is back behind bars."
"I agree. The Magician knows where I live. And he even knows where my brothers and their families live. Leo has a son, and Raph and Mikey each have a daughter. What if one of them had gotten kidnapped?"
"Oh wow. I had no idea. So no one else moved out of the sewers?"
"No. April and I just decided to stay at the farmhouse and make it our home after our wedding. It was spacious enough for me to do my experiments. My brothers agreed that the lair was going to be their only home, and I don't blame them. But back to the subject. We all spoke together on what to do. Raph and his wife were on a trip in California, so I had to put them on speaker phone, and I even included Cornelius in on it. April and I could come to Todayland for Christmas, and then April would go home while I remain in Todayland."
"Donnie, are you sure that's a good idea?"
"If it means seeing my daughter again and being with her, then it's well worth it," I replied with a grin.
"Well, since you're onboard with that idea, why don't you fly over for Thanksgiving? Lily already hasn't seen you in over a month. Why should she wait another two months before seeing you again? She needs you, Donnie. And Wilbur and his family are more than willing to welcome you over for Thanksgiving dinner."
"I'll have to talk to April about it, but that's not a bad idea. I'm sure she'll go along with it. And besides, I'd only be waiting a few weeks and not over a month to see her."
"You're the best, Dad!" Lily said on the other line.
I chuckled and I blushed, just like those other times when April said something or kissed me to make me blush.
"Meanwhile, Donnie, how would you feel about Lily staying with the Robinsons until you're ready to stay in Todayland for a while?" Karena asked. "Lily is not an orphan. She doesn't deserve to be in the orphanage."
"She doesn't deserve to be away from her family," I replied, my grin turning into a frown. "I think that's a good idea. This way I'll know she'll be surrounded by people who love her, and she already is. So, thank you, Karena. And tell Wilbur I said hi."
"That we can do," Karena replied. "Hopefully we'll see you at Thanksgiving."
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll see you soon, Karena."
I hung up, feeling satisfied. I got out of the lab, locked it, and walked into the house. April was at work, so I cleaned the kitchen and started making dinner.

WILBUR'S POV
I knocked on my parents' door and opened it.
"Carl said you needed to see me?"
"Yes, come on in, son," Dad answered.
I walked in the room and closed the door.
"We had received a phone call from Principal Jameson earlier yesterday," Mom explained. "He said you were clowning around in the pool instead of attending your classes!"
"Mom, that's why I came in to talk to you," I replied. "Everything that Principal Jameson told you was not what it seemed."
My parents glanced at each other. To my surprise, my dad gave me a smile.
"Alright Wilbur, your mom and I made the promise to listen to you when something happens. So, we're all ears."
"There's a new girl at school, and her first day was last week. She was shy and scared. She asked for my help, but it wasn't the kind of help I had in mind. She revealed yesterday that she's from New York and she badly wanted to go back. But yesterday, she tested me. She led me to the pool, stripped down in front of me, kissed me, and then pushed me into the pool. Prior to all of this, she somehow took my phone out of my pocket without my feeling anything. I learned from Karena last night that Lily had been kidnapped from her home in New York, and she escaped, somehow ending up here."
"Lily Hamato, correct?" Dad asked.
"Yes, sir."
"While I don't believe what Lily did was right," Mom chimed in. "I do feel sorry for her. She should not have been put in this position. She has lost some of her innocence because of her being kidnapped."
"Lily has lost her sense of security and right now, she has no idea who will take care of her," Dad continued. "She's only fourteen. So, I spoke to Donatello and his family on the phone. Wilbur, your mom and I have agreed to take Lily in momentarily. We'll give her the spare room next to Aunt Billie's suite, and we'll treat her like she's one of us. Now, the original plan was to have Donatello and April fly to Todayland for Christmas."
"But, thanks to Karena and Lily's resourcefulness, they are flying here for Thanksgiving instead," Mom chimed back in. "Now, Donnie and April will return to New York after their Thanksgiving weekend, but then Lily will fly to New York for Christmas, stay in the Turtles' lair, and then return to Todayland to finish the school year out."
"And Donatello will come back to Todayland with her. He has a surprise planned for his students."
"His students?" I finally spoke. "What do you mean by that?"
"Donatello is a professor at Todayland University," Dad explained. "He just teaches remotely from New York. Do not tell Karena, but Donatello is going to teach his students in person, work with me on some inventions, and then spend time with Lily. Mom and I are working to get an apartment reserved for them in those five months."
I was speechless, once again. I was in awe at how my parents were able to work things out with Lily's family.
"Do you have any questions for us, Wilbur?" Mom asked.
"Uh… no. You have planned this out so well even before I had the chance to ask you if Lily could stay here."
"With the Magician back, we're not taking any chances," Dad told me.
"Speaking of which, you mentioned Lily was going back to New York in December. Will she be going alone?"
"Karena will be going with her," Mom answered. "For one, it will give her the opportunity to reunite with the Turtles. Two, Lily needs to be with someone older than her and that is also legal to fly alone, and Karena fits the bill."
"And three, if the Magician is after Karena, and Lily is the bait, Karena will be safer in the lair than she will be here," Dad chimed in. "We had discussed the possibility that the Magician may know that Lily made it to Todayland."
"From what Donnie told us of Lily, she is a kunoichi," Mom continued. "So she is gifted at using deception as well as using the resources around her."
"Add master seducer to that list of talents," I chimed in. "Come to think of it, she had mentioned her parents' names while undressing, and I didn't pay attention!"
"Lily was not the only one to do something wrong here, mister," Mom reprimanded me.
"I don't need a reminder, Mom," I replied, putting my head down. "I knew my kissing her was wrong. I already told Karena everything."
My parents took another glance at each other, and then they smiled at me.
"Thankfully, you have changed enough for us to trust you," Dad told me. "I think the Saturday detention is punishment enough. If you realize the error of your ways when it happens and you understand why it's wrong, it's good enough for me."
"Thanks, Dad," I replied, returning the smile. "Although, to be fair, I don't think the images of Lily and her muscles will be going away for a long time. You weren't kidding when you said she's a kunoichi. She must have been trained since birth!"
"Well, when you're the daughter of a genetically-enhanced ninja turtle, anything is possible," Mom replied with a laugh.
The next day…
LILIANNA'S POV
I had decided to go to school early this time and eat breakfast in the cafeteria, hoping that Wilbur would meet me here. I enjoyed my bacon, egg, and cheese omelet with my fresh fruit and my chocolate milk as I finished the homework I needed to do for today. Today, I wore a yellow shirt and black jeans with yellow ballet flats. Now that I know that I could make a difference in my own life, I wanted to feel confident about it.
"Lily?"
I looked up to see Wilbur sitting down across from me.
"Hi," I replied with a smile on my face. "How are you?"
"That depends," Wilbur answered, raising an eyebrow. "You're not going to seduce me again, are you?"
"No, I promise I'm done with that. I personally had fun a couple days ago, but I also understand how wrong it was to play with you like that. I hope you can forgive me."
"Well, I have good news for you," Wilbur replied, now smiling at me. "I'm a Robinson, and us Robinsons are known for moving forward and forgiving people. I knew something was up when you suddenly went soft-core on me."
"I wasn't sure I could trust anybody here," I explained. "It would have been better for me to tell you the truth, huh?"
"That is the best way to gain someone's trust. I am pleased you told Karena the truth. Although, I won't lie. I actually had fun playing with you too."
I blushed.
"R-really?"
I gazed into Wilbur's chocolate eyes and read his thoughts. I let out a laugh when I saw a picture of me in my lavender lingerie showing off all of my muscles in his mind.
"That image of me is never going to leave you, is it?" I asked with laughter.
"Nope. Karena looks absolutely nothing like that. My mom doesn't even look like that, and she knows karate!"
"Well, I've been trained in ninjutsu ever since I was a baby," I explained. "My first lessons were to be aware of my surroundings, and then acrobatics, and then the strength training. I received my first weapon when I was seven."
"So you are a true black belt," Wilbur replied in awe. "Well, let me tell you something: if you end up getting married someday, your husband will be very lucky to have you. You could easily turn him on with those muscles."
I laughed loudly.
"So, all's forgiven?" Wilbur asked.
"It is with me if all's forgiven with you," I replied.
We shook hands with grins on our faces.
"Friends, then?" I asked.
"Of course!" Wilbur replied enthusiastically. "I was wanting to be friends with you from the start anyway."
"Great!" I replied, sharing in his enthusiasm.
The bell rang, signifying that it was eight o'clock.
"Wilbur, could you show me around the school, please? I think I've had my fun sneaking around and seeing everything myself. I want to see the school through the eyes of Wilbur Robinson."
Wilbur let out a chuckle.
"Why look through my eyes when you can read my mind?"
"Because it's so much more fascinating to hear people talk," I answered. "I absolutely love watching my dad work on his inventions in his lab back home."
Wilbur gave me a fond smile.
"You know, Lily, you may not be my girlfriend, but I have a feeling we're going to be friends for a long time."
I returned the smile.
"You know what? I think so, too."
"But now I gotta know. You made quite the first impression on me."
I laughed hard as we stood up.
"Did I make a good first impression on you?"
I thought about it for a few moments before answering.
"Actually, yes. You offered to help me. You took the first step in making a friend. While my reaction was off at the time, I'm glad we're trying again."
"Correction: we have tried and we are friends now," Wilbur replied. "So, what's your first class?"
"Geometry."
"Well then, Miss Hamato, follow me!"
Wilbur held out his arm, and I laughed merrily, putting my arm in his and strolling down the hallway, marking the start of a beautiful friendship.
"Thank you for walking me home, Wilbur."
"It's my pleasure! But how about just a smidge more of a permanent home?"
"What do you mean by that?" I asked with a smirk.
"You, clearly, are not an orphan. You have parents who love you. Therefore, you do not qualify to be in the orphanage. My parents have been generous and are allowing you to live with us until we can find someway to bring your dad here."
"Wait, seriously?" I asked with shock in my voice.
"Seriously," Wilbur answered with a laugh. "You deserve to be surrounded by people who love you, and my parents have already made the promise to treat you like one of the family. The question is: how do you feel about seeing trains all the time?"
"Trains? What does that have to do with anything?"
"The spare room is in the train room. Aunt Billie is a conductor for a living. She has life-like toy trains that she uses to transport me and other members of the family to the town and back. The train room is also her charging station, so if you're in there long enough, you may get a glimpse of it."
"It's peaceful and quiet where I'm from," I replied.
"Yes, but you've been in Todayland for over a week, and you've heard city noises. I think your life of peace and quiet is over until the Magician is no longer a threat to you. And besides, our kind of noises are a lot more fun than city noises."
I let out a giggle.
"Well, I have never seen a train before. The closest I've seen to one is the Shellraiser."
"The… Shellraiser?" Wilbur replied with confusion. "What is that?"
"One of my dad's first inventions!" I explained with enthusiasm. "He took an old subway car and turned into an automobile with a weapons station and a navigation system. It was their go-to vehicle for night patrols in the city. They absolutely loved it. In fact, they still use it today."
"I'll have to see it some time when I ever get the chance to go to New York City. But what do you say about a new home for two months?"
"As thankful as I am for Mildred, I think I am ready for a change."
"Fantastic! I'll talk to Mildred about the details, and we'll have you all moved in by the weekend."
"Wilbur, you do realize I don't have much, right?" I asked. "All I have are my bo staff, my white mask and my clothes."
"That will make it easier on us," Wilbur replied with a wink. "I'll see you tomorrow at school."
November 13, 2038
Today was moving day, and thankfully, there was not much to do until this afternoon when Wilbur gets out of Saturday detention. Mildred had bought me a suitcase to put all of my clothes in it. I had decided to wear the black tank top and black skirt again, as it had become my favorite outfit to wear in Todayland. I looked at myself in the mirror and brushed my long red hair, and then I parted it down the middle. I left my bangs alone. I took a good look at myself. I saw the girl with red hair and red bangs, blue eyes, and a kind smile. I saw my mother. Then, I grinned, seeing the gap in my teeth. I saw my father. And then I looked at all of my face. I was Lilianna Mae Hamato, and I was ready to move forward and to adapt again.
I put on the belt and put my bo staff in its sheath. I chuckled, remembering all the times the other kids wanted to see the kinds of tricks I could do with it. I was, in a way, a source of entertainment for them, and I also demonstrated some of my ninjutsu skills. I was going to miss it, but I was looking forward to displaying my skills to Wilbur. Karena, too, had skills with the bo staff, as she was a part of the color guard like Wilbur is.
I heard knocking at the door, and I turned to see Mildred there, smiling at me.
"Are you all ready to go?"
"Yeah, yes I am."
I walked over and hugged her, and I felt her hugging me back.
"Thank you for taking care of me when I couldn't take care of myself. I don't know how to repay you."
"You don't have to give me anything, Lily," Mildred replied. "It was my pleasure watching over you. I'm sure we'll see each other again."
We hugged again, and then I walked out the door with my suitcase. I greeted both Wilbur and Karena at the bottom of the steps. We gathered in Karena's green flying car, and we took off for Wilbur's house, which would temporarily be my home.
It only took us about five minutes before I saw a huge white house that looked like a mansion. It was clear that this was the Robinson house because of the big red R in the front. The yard was absolutely spacious as we flew over and into the garage.
"Lily, would you like a tour of our new home?" Wilbur asked.
"I'd love to," I replied. "But may I set my suitcase in my room?"
"That's no problem! Just follow us."
I followed Wilbur and Karena, and I watched them get vacuumed up by a tube of some kind. Curious as to what it was, I was vacuumed up, and I screamed. I was going so fast I could not comprehend where I was going. I landed painfully on the floor in a big blue room.
"Ow," I moaned, rubbing my butt. "What the heck was that?"
"It's a travel tube!" Wilbur explained. "My dad invented these all over the house so that we don't take the unnecessary steps to get to another room. He invented them primarily for Uncle Joe, who's in a wheelchair, but we all love to use them."
"So, what room is this?" I asked.
"This is the train room," Karena explained. "Aunt Billie's train is around town right now, so it's empty, but this is where she charges them. Let's take you to the spare room."
I followed Wilbur and Karena again, and I entered a room with a red lava lamp turned on.
"I know this isn't much, but—"
"Wilbur, it's a place to stay, and it's a place for me to do my private things if I could," I interrupted him. "I'll take it."
I set the suitcase and my bo staff down on the bed, and then I turned around with a smile.
"Okay. Where to next?"
"Let's head to the dining room first," Wilbur suggested. "The travel tubes don't lead to the music room, but I'd like you to meet my mom."
We went back into the travel tube, and I found myself in the biggest dining room I had ever seen. There was a golden table surrounded by green chairs on green carpet. The most beautiful chandelier was hanging above the dining room table. After looking around in amazement, I followed Wilbur and Karena out and into the room on the left. This room was purple in color with red tables and red chairs. This room spanned two floors, as there was a travel tube that led straight above. There was jazz music playing by the same frog band I watched at the Halloween bash, and conducting them was Franny, Wilbur's mother.
"Hey, Mom, our new resident is here!" Wilbur announced.
Franny immediately cut the music, turned around, and walked towards me.
"So you're Miss Lilianna Hamato," Franny said, and I nodded. "My, you're beautiful. I can see why Wilbur got into trouble now. I'm Franny."
"Please call me Lily," I replied.
I held out my hand for her to shake. Instead, she gave me a hug, and I hugged her back.
"I am sorry for what happened to you," Franny said with a frown, which quickly turned back into a smile. "But we are happy to have you here. I take it Wilbur's taking you on the grand tour?"
"Yes, he is. This is our first stop."
"Well, enjoy! And please, enjoy meeting the rest of the family. Cornelius won't be home for a while, but he did promise he'd be back in time for dinner."
Franny went back to her music practice with her frogs.
"Let's go to the cannon range," Wilbur suggested. "It's across the hall."
The cannon range was very lively with red walls and beige accents. There was a huge area that looked like a bowling alley of some sort, but I knew it wasn't.
"Uncle Gaston, I'd like you to meet my new friend, Lily," Wilbur introduced us.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Gaston," I said, shaking his hand.
"So, Lily. Wilbur tells me you're a kunoichi. What is that?"
"A female ninja."
"Let's put those skills… to the test!"
"Uncle Gaston, will you—"
I suddenly felt myself being transported to the alley!
"—Take it easy," Wilbur finished his thought, feeling defeated. "Lily's been through a lot."
"Wilbur, you don't have to speak for me," I replied with a smirk. "I'm ready. What do I need to do?"
"See that red light ahead of you?" Karena asked.
"Yeah?"
"You have to find your way around Gaston's meatballs and touch that light."
"Meatballs?" I asked with laughter. "Oh, this is going to be too easy."
"Enough talk!" Gaston yelled. "It's time for… a light brunch!"
Suddenly, seven cannons shot out huge meatballs! They were coming quickly towards me. I heard a song playing on Wilbur's phone, possibly to give me motivation. I smirked when I recognized it: it was LMNT's It's Just You, one of the songs to describe Kim Possible back in the day. Timing everything just right, I flipped over or to the side of the meatballs. When I couldn't jump, I either leaned back as if I was doing the limbo, or I log-rolled forward. I hit the red light, which turned blue upon first touch, and the cannons stopped firing at me.
"You really do have skills!" Gaston complimented me. "Who taught you those?"
"I have had six teachers in ninjutsu, one in combat, and another in evasion," I explained. "Sometimes, I do get cocky and say that I'm just that good. Then again, I am the oldest cousin."
"Ooh, this story's about to get good," Wilbur chimed in. "Thanks, Uncle Gaston! Let's go to the living room."
We walked out of the cannon range and walked into a very spacious living room, which had a bright affect. There were also train tracks next to another door. We walked toward the television where three older men were sitting.
"Grandpa, Uncle Joe, Uncle Fritz, I'd like to introduce you to our newest resident, Lily Hamato," Wilbur introduced us. "Lily, these are the three Robinson brothers: Bud, Joe, and Fritz."
"Nice to meet ya, Lily!" Bud said with enthusiasm, shaking my hand.
"It's nice to meet you too," I replied.
I shook Joe's hand. When I shook Fritz's hand, I noticed he had a female puppet on the other.
"This is my wife, Petunia," Fritz said.
"It's nice to meet you, Lily," 'Petunia' said. "You got any chocolates for me?"
I laughed, watching Fritz's lips move.
"No, Petunia, I don't have any chocolates for you," I replied with a kind smile. "Maybe some other time."
"Let's go upstairs," Karena suggested.
Instead of going up the travel tubes, we went up the stairs to the second floor. I was introduced to Lefty, the squid butler who simply groaned and shut the door. Wilbur showed me the bedrooms of his parents as well as his father's cousins Laszlo and Tallulah. I was told the twins were working in downtown Todayland, so we took a travel tube outside to the front.
"This is a protectosphere," Wilbur explained. "This is the most fun thing to do. You're in this hamster ball, and your goal is to get through the obstacle course in a record-setting time. Just be careful of—"
"Traps?" I asked with a smirk.
"Yeah, pretty much."
I watched Wilbur get in one of the protectospheres, and then Karena got in one. I stepped onto the course, and I was surrounded by an energetic purple ball.
"Okay, this is so cool!" I said out loud with excitement. "So, how do I move this thing?"
I started to walk, but then I realized I had to run like a hamster using both my legs and my hands. Thankfully, Uncle Leo had trained me and my cousins in the art of spinning weapons, so I easily adapted to this new environment. I had to be careful of garden hands trying to block my path, but I was thankful to have a sixth sense. My brain was moving just as my hands and feet were, and I could sense when there was a trap ahead of me. I was able to dodge all of the obstacles, and suddenly, we were in the most beautiful area of the house. I had assumed that this was a swimming pool of some kind, but there were fountains as well. It looked like a paradise.
"So how do I figure this one out?" I asked.
It looked like the goal was to use the ramps to get me to a higher fountain. I had to time my jumps just right, or else I'd fall in the pool. I eventually made it over and into some sort of slide that slide me down to the gardens, where I found a spaceship in front of me!
"Okay, this is so cool!" I said excitedly. "You guys have a spaceship?"
"Greetings, pizza eater!" a tall dark-haired man appeared out of the spaceship.
"Whoa!" I exclaimed slowly with a big smile on my face.
"Uncle Art, I'd like to introduce you to my newest friend, Lilianna Hamato," Wilbur introduced me. "Lily, this is another one of my uncles, Art Framagucci."
Art held his hand out, and I shook.
"I think it is amazing that you have a spaceship. What do you do, exactly?"
"I am an intergalactic pizza delivery man," Art explained with pride in his voice.
"You deliver pizzas in space?" I asked with intrigue. "And other species love your pizzas?"
"Oh yeah! So much that I took home a herd of zumzats once."
"My parents and my uncles have all travelled through space once upon a time," I replied with a smile. "I think my parents had said they had travelled to find the pieces to some black hole generator that had threatened to destroy this planet. My mom also got psychic training from a robot hybrid called the Fugitoid. From the way they spoke, it was an amazing journey. You and my parents have a lot to talk about."
"Wilbur tells me your father is the mutant turtle Donatello, right?" Art asked, and I nodded. "How is he doing?"
"He's worried about me, but he's doing pretty well otherwise. I'll tell him you said hi."
"Where to next, Wilbur?" Karena asked.
"Let's take the travel tube to my room and then go to my dad's lab," Wilbur suggested. "There's two more members of the family I'd like you to meet before the rest of the family gets home."
We took the travel tube again, and the more I used it, the more I was getting used to it. It even became fun to use at some point. This travel tube landed in a dark blue room with planets hovering over us.
"Welcome to my sanctuary!" Wilbur said, holding his arms out in a welcoming gesture.
"Okay, this is cool!" I replied, immediately heading to one of the cushions to sit on it. "What is that?"
"This is a way to get into the chargeball arena," Wilbur explained.
"Chargeball?"
"It's like dodgeball and hockey combined with an electric ball. You have these blocks that you have to get rid of before scoring a goal. I can teach you some time."
"I'd like that," I replied with a smile.
"Now, come in. I'd like you to meet my best friend."
I followed Wilbur and Karena out of his room and turned right. We entered what used to be an observatory and got turned into one of the coolest labs I had ever seen, even cooler than my dad's in the barn. There were lots of unique inventions in this room that I had never seen anywhere else in the city. I smiled, knowing that my dad did similar things with his inventions. We walked up the stairs, and I saw a gold robot standing at one of the machines.
"Hey, Carl," Wilbur greeted him.
I let out a gasp.
"Wait a minute, there's no way this robot is Carl Jackson!" I panicked.
"Lily, no!" Wilbur exclaimed with shock in his voice. "You can relax, he's just CARL. The Computer-Automated-Robotic-Lifeform."
I giggled sheepishly and then I blushed.
"Carl, how can I ever apologize?" I asked.
"You very sweetly already did, miss," Carl replied with a smile.
"I'm Lily. I got kidnapped, escaped, and found my way here. Wilbur and the family have been hospitable."
"Oh yes! Wilbur told me about you. I hear you are just as smart as your dad. What is your favorite field of science to study?"
"Oh good Lord," I said with laughter. "That's a good question. I love watching my dad all the time, and he does a lot with chemistry, biology, physics, engineering, medicine."
"I never thought that there would be anyone smarter than your dad," Carl replied. "But I think he surpassed him."
"Donatello did do something that Dad never did," Wilbur chimed in. "He went to outer space. So yeah, Don's definitely up there."
"But I think my favorite field of science to study is actually psychology," I continued. "Ever since I discovered I can read thoughts, I've become fascinated with the human mind. And my dad has worked on some psychological inventions. Maybe I can ask him more about that."
"Aunt Billie has graduated with a degree in psychology," Wilbur explained. "She was even an expert on play therapy in the good old days before settling in with us."
"Next question, Lily: What is your favorite meal?" Carl asked.
I pondered in thought. My mom had made amazing meals over the years, and my dad made an amazing pizza once in a while.
"I'm going to have to say fried chicken with white gravy and green beans," I answered.
"Fried chicken?" Karena replied with laughter. "That sounds like a Southern dish!"
"That's because it is a Southern dish, Karena," I replied. "My mom makes a mean fried chicken. And I mean oven-fried. Mix some buttermilk and corn flakes together and put it on a chicken breast, and then put it in the oven for some time. Mmm-hmm!"
"I don't think we've ever had a Southern dish before," Wilbur chimed in. "That may be a challenge for my grandma. She makes dinner most of the time. My uncles will make dinner once in a while. Speaking of which, come on. She's the last person I want you to meet before everyone else gets home."
"It was nice meeting you, Lily," Carl told me with a smile.
"You too, Carl."
I followed Wilbur and Karena out of the lab and back into his room. We took the travel tube from there to the second floor, and we approached a room that had an embroidered sign on it. It had said "Home Sweet Home," and Wilbur opened the door without knocking.
"Hi, Grandma!" Wilbur greeted her loudly.
My jaw dropped open in surprise. Wlbur's grandmother, who had pink hair all tied up in a bun, was dancing her life away with a disco ball in the room. Wilbur walked in the room and turned off the music.
"Oh, Wilbur! You're ruining my fun! I was baking cookies!"
"I think your cookies can wait a few seconds, Grandma," Wilbur replied. "There's someone I want you to meet."
"This is Lily Hamato," Karena introduced us to each other. "Lily, this is Wilbur's grandma, Lucille Krunklehorn."
"Krunklehorn, huh?" I asked. "Not a Robinson?"
"I technically am a Robinson," Lucille answered. "I married one after all! But I kept my maiden name for the press. Come over here, Lily!"
Lucille pulled me into a bear hug like she was actually my grandma, and I hugged her back.
"You know, I don't have a grandma," I said with a smile.
"Oh, Lily, I'm so sorry," Lucille replied with sadness in her voice.
"It's okay. I never knew them. My maternal grandma died when my mom was only six years old. My paternal grandma died long before my dad was born."
"I'm afraid I don't understand, Lily," Lucille said with confusion in her voice.
"Tang Shen was murdered by my grandfather's nemesis, the Shredder, in Tokyo, Japan. My grandpa moved to New York and bought four baby turtles. He came across a strange man who dropped a canister of mutagen. He and the baby turtles all came into contact with it, and they all mutated into a hybrid of the last thing they touched. My grandpa last touched a rat when he accidentally stepped on it, so he became a human-rat hybrid named Splinter. The four baby turtles were in contact with a human, so they gained human characteristics and started to grow up like humans. My dad is one of those turtles."
"Wait a minute," Lucille replied, the memory jogging back to her. "Wilbur, didn't we have four human turtles over for dinner one night?"
"Yes, we did, when they time travelled to the future with Karena," Wilbur answered. "But when Karena moved, our worlds merged together."
"My mother is April O'Neil. She married my dad and then gave birth to me."
"Now which one is your dad?"
"He wears a purple mask."
"Donnie!" Lucille said in affirmation. "Yes, I remember him now. Tall, scrawny, slender type, gap in his teeth, and very handsome. He would not stop staring at your mother at the dinner table. He looked very much in love with her. He could not, however, catch flying bread! It hit him square in the face! His scream is one of the funniest screams I had ever heard."
I laughed, remembering all the times my dad screamed in the lab if he was afraid something was going to explode. There were times when he did scream like a girl, and my mom and I ended up laughing. My dad would eventually laugh with us when he realized that everything was okay. Tears suddenly came to my eyes, and I was no longer happy.
"Karena, may I borrow your phone, please?" I asked.
"Sure. Is everything okay?"
Karena handed me her phone.
"Excuse me," I said just as the tears started to fall.
I ran away and took the travel tube back to the train room and into the spare room. Thankful that Karena saved my dad's number, I dialed it.

DONATELLO'S POV
I was done with work for the weekend, so I ended up driving April down to work, and then I made my way to the lair in the sewers to be with Leo. However, I discovered the lair was empty, so I made myself at home in my lab. Everyone eventually came home, and we spent the night together before heading out on a peaceful night patrol.
Today, we had done our ninja training, minus Lily, and watched Super Robo Mega Force Five together. Ryan, Venus, and Athena seemed to enjoy the show as much as we did as teenagers. Suddenly, some time after lunch, my T-Phone rang.
"Oh, excuse me," I announced. "I need to take this in my lab."
I walked away from the family and got into the lab to answer the phone. Karena's number was displayed, so I smiled when I answered.
"Donatello."
"Hey, Daddy."
I gasped. It was my daughter instead of Karena.
"Hey, Lily Mae, how are you?" I asked with a smile on my face.
"Just… really missing you and everyone right now," Lily answered, and I heard a sniff in the background.
"Lily, are you okay?" I asked, my smile fading away. "What's wrong?"
"I met most of Wilbur's family, and we were talking about you, Daddy. Lucille remembers you as the handsome turtle who screamed when toast landed on your face."
I laughed, remembering my fifteen-year-old self having dinner with the Robinsons.
"Then I remembered all the times I was in your lab watching you work, and you would scream like a girl if something was about to explode, but it didn't, and you laughed with us. I just started crying and I can't stop."
"Aww, Lily Mae, shh," I tried to comfort her the best I could over the phone. "I miss you too. We all miss you. It's hard being away from your family. Did you know that I cried too?"
I heard a sniff on the other line.
"You did?"
"Yes, because I was missing you so much I was afraid I'd never see you again. I couldn't work on my inventions because I was so worried about you. I meditated with Master Splinter more than I worked. He gave me a piece of advice that I think it's worth telling you right now."
"What is it?"
"When you miss someone from the past, focus on the friends you are surrounded by in the present," I told her with a smile. "You're now living with a surrogate family, and I can vouch for them. You are in safer hands with the Robinsons than you were in the orphanage. I could not ask for better people to watch over you than Wilbur's family, because I've actually met them. They treat everyone who visits like family, and right now, you're family. While your mom and I are waiting for the day we can fly out to Todayland to see you, just focus on the people who are taking care of you, and then call me when you can. I've been spending every weekend with your uncles and your cousins because that's who I can spend time with while I wait to see you again."
I paused as I heard another sniff.
"Hey, Karena has a camera on her phone, right? May I see you?"
"Oh! Um, sure."
I turned the camera on in my T-Phone, and before I knew it, I saw my daughter's image on the other. I smiled, thrilled that she got her bangs back, but her face was red as she was crying.
"Hi, Dad," Lily said, waving to me.
"Hey, Lily Mae, everything is going to be alright," I assured her with a smile on my face. "You are a very brave girl, and I am so happy that you are my brave girl. Please promise me that you'll smile even when you don't want to, and smile through your tears. A smile can be a very powerful weapon."
I watched and then chuckled as Lily smiled through her tears.
"That's my girl. Now, are you going to be okay?"
"Yeah, Dad, I'll be fine. Thank you."
"Anytime. I love you."
"I love you too, Daddy. I can't wait to see your face again… in person."
"Me neither, princess."
Lily giggled.
"Do you have something to do or can we talk for a few more minutes?"
"Well, I was spending time with your uncles and cousins watching Super Robo Mega Force Five when you called, but I can spare a few more minutes. You're my daughter, Lily. I want to grab every opportunity I can to spend time with you, even if it's over the phone."
"How is everybody?"
"Uncle Raph and Auntie Mona just returned from their trip to California, so they've been getting settled back here in the lair."
"Did they find anything?"
"Yes, they found the Magician's hideout in Los Angeles. It wasn't you the kidnappers were after, Lily. It's Karena."
Lily pondered this new information.
"Dad, is it possible that they were trying to kidnap you instead of me?"
"It could be. Uncle Leo and I were the closest to Karena before she moved to Todayland. But Uncle Raph explained that they took you instead because you are my daughter who showed skills and that it would draw me out of hiding, and when I came out, Karena would come looking for me."
"But the trap got foiled because I escaped."
"Exactly. You did the right thing, Lily. But please be vigilant: the Magician may know that you are in Todayland. He's been to Todayland before when he tracked Karena there."
"Should I let Karena know?"
"No. Uncle Raph and Auntie Mona found no other evidence on what the Magician plans to do next. Every step we plan we must take with caution, okay?"
"Okay. How is everyone else?"
"Everyone else is doing fine. Ryan, Athena, and Venus have been more focused on their training since you disappeared. The rest of us have been just living our lives and missing you."
Lily smiled, and we spoke for a few more minutes before getting back to our temporary lives.
