A/N : Chapter 3 is live ! A little training chapter, giving out some first sights on Haru's magic. Don't worry if you don't understand everything, I'll try making sure it's all explained later on.

Enjoy !

I woke up to the pleasant sound of birds chirping, but it was quickly interrupted by someone yelling. Groggily, I opened my eyes and looked down. There stood Natsu, his face contorted in shock.

"WHY THE HECK ARE YOU ON THE ROOF, HARU?" he yelled, his voice echoing through the morning air.

I deadpanned, still half-asleep. "It's my bed," I replied flatly. It was way too early for someone to be yelling, and I hadn't even had my coffee yet.

Natsu's expression shifted from shock to confusion. "Your bed? On the roof?"

"Yeah," I muttered, sitting up and stretching. "I just like the view and stuff. Plus, it's peaceful up here. I mean it was peaceful"

Natsu blinked a few times, then shrugged and grinned. "Well, that's pretty cool, I guess. Just didn't expect to see someone sleeping on the roof."

I chuckled softly. "Yeah, I get that a lot."

"Come on down ! Breakfast is ready, and you don't want to miss Mira's cooking."

The mention of breakfast and Mira's cooking was enough to get me moving. "Alright, alright, I'm coming," I said, carefully jumping down from the roof.

Entering the guild, I was still half asleep, only thinking about one thing: my coffee. I made my way to the bar and slumped my entire body over the counter, feeling the cool wood against my cheek.

Mira came around and looked at me with a playful smile. "Well, well, look who's not a morning person," she teased.

I groaned, lifting my head just enough to meet her gaze. "I woke up with Natsu yelling at me. That doesn't count," I said, my voice muffled and still heavy with sleep.

Mira laughed softly, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Fair enough. I'll get you a coffee," she said, turning to start brewing a fresh pot.

As I waited, I glanced around the guild hall. It was already buzzing with activity, members chatting and preparing for the day ahead. Despite my current state, I felt a part of the lively morning routine.

Mira placed a steaming cup of coffee in front of me, the rich aroma immediately lifting my spirits. "Here you go, Haru. This should help wake you up," she said with a wink.

I took a sip, savoring the warmth and flavor. "Thanks, Mira. You're a lifesaver," I murmured, feeling more awake with each passing second.

She smiled warmly. "Anytime, Haru. Welcome to your first day at Fairy Tail."

As I enjoyed the warmth of my coffee, I heard someone approaching. "Hey, Haru," Gray greeted, sitting down next to me. "Wanna go training today?" he asked. "I wanna see what you've got."

His voice carried louder than expected, and within moments, Fairy Tail's pink-haired fury burst in with his trademark enthusiasm.

"Yeah, Haru, wanna fight?" Natsu asked, far too energetic for my morning state.

I groaned inwardly, taking another sip of my coffee. "Guys, it's too early for this," I mumbled, trying to muster some energy. "Can we at least wait until I've finished waking up?"

Natsu grinned, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Sure, but don't think you're getting out of this!"

Gray chuckled. "Take your time, Haru. We'll be ready when you are."

I nodded, appreciating their enthusiasm but needing a bit more time to fully emerge. As they moved away to discuss their own plans, I felt a sense of anticipation building. Training with Gray and Natsu would definitely be a challenge, but it was one I was starting to look forward to.

With my coffee finished, I headed out of the guild for some training. As I walked, the reality of the situation began to sink in. Gray and Natsu. Training with them? Panic started to creep in. They were some of the most powerful mages in the guild, and I knew I wasn't anywhere near their level.

I sighed deeply, trying to calm my nerves. I had to start somewhere, anyway.

When I reached the training grounds, I noticed that Wendy and Lucy were also there, chatting animatedly. Apparently, Mira would be joining us later on. The presence of more familiar faces eased my anxiety a little, but I still felt a knot of apprehension in my stomach.

"Hey, Haru! Ready to get started?" Gray called out, his tone light but his eyes serious.

Natsu punched his fists together, flames sparking around him. "Yeah, let's see what you've got!"

I took a deep breath and walked over to join them, trying to summon all the courage I had. "Alright, let's do this," I said, attempting to sound more confident than I felt.

Wendy smiled warmly at me. "Don't worry, Haru. You'll be fine."

Lucy nodded in agreement. "Yeah, just do your best."

"Right, so we'll start with a little spar, a 1v1v1—me, Natsu, and Haru," Gray announced, a confident smirk on his face.

"Wait, I'm gonna fight both of you?" I exclaimed, panic rising in my chest.

Gray chuckled. "Relax, Haru. It's just a friendly spar to see what you've got."

Natsu grinned, flames dancing around his fists. "Yeah, don't worry. We'll go easy on you... sort of," he said, clearly enjoying my discomfort.

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. "Okay, let's do this," I said, more to convince myself than anyone else.

Wendy and Lucy stood on the sidelines, watching intently. "You've got this, Haru!" Wendy called out, her voice full of encouragement.

Mira watched with a calm demeanor, she just joined the girls on the side.

We took our positions in the training ground, the air buzzing with anticipation. Gray and Natsu stood opposite me, both radiating confidence and power. I clenched my fists, feeling the familiar energy of wind and thunder building within me.

"Ready?" Gray called out, his voice steady.

I nodded, feeling the adrenaline kick in. "Ready."

"Go!" Natsu shouted.

Almost instantly, Natsu lunged toward me, a ball of red fire blazing in his hand. I wasn't great with offensive attacks, but I knew my speed was my greatest asset. It was something I could do naturally, boosting myself with my magic to move faster than the eye could follow.

I easily dodged the incoming fireball, feeling the heat brush past me. But Gray was ready on the other side, ice shards already forming in his hands. He shot them at me with precision.

"Now!" I thought to myself. In the blink of an eye, I zapped forward, dodging every ice shard, thunder crackling around each step I took. The air seemed to hum with energy as I moved, my speed leaving a trail of sparks in my wake.

Both Gray and Natsu's eyes widened in surprise.

"That's some serious speed!" exclaimed Lucy from the sidelines, her eyes wide with amazement.

Gray nodded, clearly impressed. "I must say, I don't think I recall fighting someone that fast. Even Racer from Oración Seis felt slower."

Their words filled me with a surge of confidence. Maybe I wasn't as outmatched as I thought. I kept moving, using my speed to stay one step ahead of their attacks. Natsu sent another wave of fire in my direction, but I dodged it effortlessly, countering with a gust of wind to push him back, however doing near no damage to him.

Gray tried to catch me off guard with a flurry of ice shards, but I zapped away, my movements too quick for him to follow. The exhilaration of the fight was starting to take over, and I found myself enjoying the challenge.

"You're doing great, Haru!" Wendy cheered, her voice filled with encouragement.

"Keep it up!" Lucy added, her excitement palpable.

However, each movement consumed my magic. I wasn't trained enough to fight both of the best mages in Fairy Tail. My stamina was depleting rapidly, while they could still go on for hours. Despite my efforts, I was slowing down. I barely dodged a fireball, only to be hit moments later by Gray's ice geyser.

I skidded to a stop, breathing heavily. I needed to counterattack; I couldn't keep dodging forever.

Taking a casting stance, I gathered my remaining strength. "The Seven Cyclones, Aelion!" I shouted, summoning seven small tornadoes around me. The swirling winds rushed towards Gray and Natsu, aiming to catch them off guard.

However, I knew my offensive power was limited. It didn't take long for them to realize it either. With practiced ease, they both cleared the small cyclones. Natsu's flames dissipated the wind with a powerful burst, while Gray's ice neutralized the remaining cyclones effortlessly.

My heart sank as I saw my attack fail. I was running out of options and energy fast.

Gray stepped forward, his eyes assessing my condition. "You're running low on magic, Haru. You need to learn to pace yourself," he advised, his tone firm but encouraging.

Natsu nodded, his fiery determination unwavering. "Yeah, but you've got guts, Haru. That's a good start. Now let's see if you can keep up!"

Wendy and Lucy watched from the sidelines, their expressions a mix of concern and support.

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. Despite the exhaustion, their words gave me a renewed sense of determination. I had to keep going, had to push through my limits.

"Alright," I muttered to myself. "Let's try this again."

Summoning the last of my strength, I prepared for another round. This time, I would focus on strategy, using my speed and magic more wisely. The training session was far from over, and I was determined to make the most of it.

I zapped away, but this time toward both mages. They prepared their attacks, eyes sharp and focused, waiting for the right moment.

Intentionally, I slowed down my speed at the exact moment I needed—in the middle of the two. By pure reflex, they both unleashed their attacks, realizing too late they were aiming at each other. Before they knew it, I zapped out, and Gray got hit by Natsu's fire while Natsu was struck by Gray's ice. This was my chance.

I skidded on the dirt, pushing my open hands in front of me. "Roaring Thunder, Kirin!" I shouted, summoning multiple thunderbolts. Though not very powerful, they had easy targets as Natsu and Gray were still reeling from each other's attacks. The bolts struck them both, forcing them to take a few steps back.

For a brief moment, triumph surged through me. But before I could celebrate, a huge fireball emerged from the dust cloud, heading straight for me. I barely had time to react before the fireball hit me square in the chest, sending me flying meters away. I landed flat on the ground, the impact knocking the wind out of me.

Pain coursed through my body as I tried to catch my breath. The training ground spun around me, and I could hear the distant voices of my friends, but they seemed far away.

"Are you okay?" Lucy called out, her worry evident.

I forced myself to sit up, every muscle protesting. "Yeah... I'm okay," I managed to say, though my voice was strained.

Gray and Natsu approached, both looking impressed despite the situation. "Not bad, Haru," Gray said, offering me a hand to help me up.

Natsu grinned, his usual energy undiminished. "Yeah, that was pretty awesome. You really caught us off guard."

I took Gray's hand and stood up, wobbling slightly. "Thanks, guys," I said, managing a weak smile. "I guess I've still got a lot to learn."

Gray nodded. "We all do. That's why we train."

Natsu patted me on the back, nearly knocking me over again. "And you're doing great. Keep it up!"

The girls came over as well, their expressions a mix of admiration and curiosity. "That's some serious magic you've got there, Haru," Mira said, smiling warmly. "Not everyone can keep up with Natsu or Gray, and even fewer can handle both at once," she added.

"Thanks," I replied, still breathing heavily. "But I still need to progress. Those attacks are way too weak."

Wendy stepped forward, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Haru, what kind of magic do you use? What are those names you call out when you cast a spell?"

"Oh... those?" I said, catching my breath. "They are my phoenixes. I'm a Phoenix Slayer," I stated naturally.

"YOU'RE WHAT?" they all shouted in unison, their voices echoing in the training grounds.

I blinked, taken aback by their reaction. "Uh, yeah. Phoenix Slayer. It's a type of Dragon Slayer magic, but instead of dragons, it's phoenixes," I explained, scratching the back of my head.

Mira's eyes sparkled with excitement. "That's incredible! Phoenix Slayer magic is extremely rare. No wonder your spells have such unique names."

Natsu looked intrigued, his usual competitive spirit shining through. "A Phoenix Slayer, huh? That explains your speed and those thunder attacks. But can you eat fire like me?"

I chuckled, shaking my head. "No, I can't eat fire. But I can absorb wind and thunder and turn them into energy for my spells."

Gray nodded thoughtfully. "That explains a lot. Your magic has a unique feel to it. It's powerful, but it also has a kind of grace."

Lucy stepped closer, her eyes filled with wonder. "I've never heard of a Phoenix Slayer before. Where did you learn it?"

I hesitated for a moment, the memories flooding back. "It's... a long story. But I was trained by a phoenix named Aelion, and another one called Kirin. They taught me everything I know. And because Phoenix Slayer magic is kinda different, I need to summon them in my casting to use the spells."

Wendy's eyes widened even more. "That's amazing, Haru! We're really lucky to have you in Fairy Tail."

I smiled, feeling a warmth spread through me. "Thanks, Wendy. I'm lucky to be here."

Mira clapped her hands together. "Alright, everyone. Let's give Haru a break. He's had a tough training session."

As we made our way back to the guild hall, my group couldn't contain their excitement. "Guys, Haru is a Phoenix Slayer!" they announced loudly.

"YOU'RE WHAT?" Everyone screamed in unison, their voices echoing through the hall.

I deadpanned, feeling a bit overwhelmed. "Is it really that important?" I asked, unsure why it was causing such a commotion.

"Yes, child, it is. And I'm surprised I wasn't able to sense it," said Makarov, his voice calm but serious. I hadn't noticed his arrival.

"Huh?" I replied, still confused.

"Dragon Slayer magic is a rare type of magic. But Phoenix Slayer magic is a lost magic. To this day, I don't recall hearing anything about Phoenixes still being a thing," Makarov explained, his expression grave.

The guild fell silent, everyone processing the weight of Makarov's words. I could see the awe and curiosity in their eyes, and it made me feel a bit self-conscious.

"T-That's incredible!" Lucy exclaimed, breaking the silence. "I've read about lost magic, but I've never met anyone who could use it."

"Yeah, that's pretty amazing," Gray added, his usual calm demeanor replaced with genuine interest.

Natsu grinned widely. "No wonder you can keep up with us! This is awesome!"

I scratched the back of my head, feeling a bit embarrassed by all the attention. "Thanks, everyone. It's just... something I learned."

Makarov stepped closer, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Haru, you possess a very special gift. It's important to understand its value and use it wisely. And one day we'll have a deeper talk about all this"

I nodded, taking his words to heart. "I will, Master. I'll do my best."

Mira smiled warmly. "We're lucky to have you in Fairy Tail, Haru. You're going to do great things."

The rest of the guild nodded in agreement, their faces filled with encouragement and support.

But could I really master this magic? I asked myself.

I spent the next few days training with the other members, trying to catch up with their skills. Every morning, we would gather in the courtyard, each of us determined to push our limits.

"Alright, Haru, let's see what you can do," Gray called out, taking a defensive stance. The sun was just starting to rise, casting long shadows across the courtyard. I tried to play it cool.

"The Seven Cyclones, Aelion!" I shouted, forming seven swirling tornadoes around me. With a flick of my wrist, I directed them at Gray.

Gray dodged the first few cyclones easily, then blocked the rest with a wall of ice. "Not bad, but you'll need to be faster," he said, smirking.

I frowned, focusing harder. "Gale Force Burst, Aelion!" A concentrated blast of wind shot forward, but Gray was ready, blocking it with an ice shield.

"Focus on precision, not just power," Gray advised. "Power's no good if you can't hit your target."

The next morning, I was paired with Erza. Her reputation for tough training was no joke.

"Ready yourself, Haru," she said. "Today, we work on your agility and speed."

Erza attacked with rapid strikes, her sword a blur. I dodged and weaved, my heart pounding. "Use your speed!" she commanded. I concentrated, feeling the electricity surge through me, and zapped out of the way just as her sword sliced through the air where I had been standing.

"Better, but don't just rely on that," she said. "Combine it with your other movements."

I nodded, incorporating short zaps into my dodges and attacks, trying to keep up with her relentless pace. "Good Haru, try trusting your instincts more," she said. "Don't overthink it."

On another day, I trained with Natsu. His fiery enthusiasm was infectious.

"Come on, Haru! Show me that Phoenix Slayer magic!" Natsu shouted.

I summoned the power of Kirin. "Thunderstrike Wave, Kirin!" A wave of lightning surged forward, aimed at Natsu.

Natsu laughed, leaping over the wave and launching a fireball in return. "That's more like it! Keep pushing, Haru!"

The courtyard echoed with the sounds of our clash, fire meeting lightning. My confidence grew with each successful strike and dodge.

Over the next few days, everyone gave me pointers. Mirajane watched from the sidelines, offering tips.

Elfman joined in, flexing his muscles. "A real man knows when to strike hard and when to hold back!" he bellowed.

"Thanks, Elfman," I chuckled, trying to focus. I practiced combining wind and thunder, creating mini-storms around the courtyard.

By the end of the week, I was exhausted but satisfied. The friendly banter and encouragement from my guildmates made the grueling training bearable, even enjoyable. I collapsed on the grass, staring up at the sky, thinking about how much stronger I would become.

"Nice work today, Haru," Erza said, offering me a hand. "Keep this up, and you'll be ready for anything."

I grinned, taking her hand and pulling myself up. "Thanks, Erza. Couldn't do it without you guys."

"Just don't slack off, or I'll make sure to remind you," Gray added with a smirk.

"Wouldn't dream of it," I replied, smiling.

A/N : And done ! I hope you liked it. I realised writing this that fight scenes were way harder to write than I expected, even with some help. I'll try doing my best for the future ones.

Thanks for reading !
