Welcome to the archive: This was meant to be released on the fourth but I forgot like a dingus so here it is.
Flect Turn gripped the varnish wood of the immaculate railing and cracks formed at the strength of his grip. Anger pulsing through him making his quirk act up while he was holding the railing and causing the railing to collapse being reflected away from his palms. He growled as he listened to the explosions and yells that he could hear coming from beyond his sanctum.
He couldn't understand it. How had things gone so wrong?
The events leading up to this incursion could be traced back to a few months ago. In the Americas, Humarise cells had gone dark and no other cell could reach them. No one knew what had happened as it hadn't even been reported on the news as if nothing had happened. This made Flect Turn weary.
No one could tell him what had happened and if the United States hadn't reported on it then the public didn't know of it either. They were very liberal with their news, often they didn't care if it was a taboo subject or not. Not hearing anything on those stations made Flect Turn frustrated.
Beeeepppp
Then a few weeks ago he'd been informed that several more cells within Europe had gone dark. There was nothing once again and none of his contacts could tell him anything. This time Flect Turn was angry.
He'd wanted to know who was doing this and then tear them apart. Humarise was meant to destroy Meta Abilities to free society of these curses and avert the Quirk Doomsday heralded by a now disgraced doctor whose name has sadly been lost to history. Humarise was to be the world's salvation.
Now, it was but a husk before they could even announce themselves to the world. Nearly two decades worth of work gone within the span of mere months. All gone in the blink of an eye.
Beeeepppp
Now this bunker was all Humarise had left. Flect Turn was aware that the interloper must've known they were here so he called all of his remaining forces, all his pieces back to this place and set in for a siege. Flect Turn was unaware if this was a group or not but he would not fail in destroying them for what they had done and hadn't skipped out on a thing.
After preparations were complete all they could do was wait. They didn't have to wait very long.
Only two hours ago did something finally happen and it was a shocking thing. Flect Turn had only caught a glance through security footage before the camera was destroyed but the image he saw was simply shocking.
A burning cargo plane had been rammed into the base nose first.
This had to be their interloper. Now though, Flect Turn realized he'd miscalculated. He hadn't thought the interloper would use such tactics nor did he think of the casualties that would follow. He hadn't thought they'd be so willing to kill and that was his mistake.
Flect Turn had believed that it was a Hero group or Vilgilante that had destroyed those cells. Now he knew better, it was somone with funding and resources at their desposle. Worse it was someone fully willing to kill them all. And if the plane crashing into the bunker had been a sign of the lengths this interloper would go to, then he was confident that the bases had been completely wiped off the map.
Another tremor shook the bunker and dust fell from the ceiling. It seemed his more powerful followers were having trouble with them. A glance at the small monitor behind him displaying their heart rates showed two of them had flatlined while the other's heart was beating hard. It seemed they were still fighting but Flect Turn had no illusions that they'd win.
Beeeepppp
The flatlining noise just confirmed it. They were all dead and he was most likley the last of Humarise and he would not allow the others deaths go unpunished. He discarded his white robe and began moving down the steps to the main floor. He'd handle this interloper himse-
CR-SHEER!
Flect Turn looked over at the large metal door which had just bent inward. He watched as the door was pulled back into the hall slowly before it was violently ripped back and obscured by the dust of the hallway. The noise of it slamming into something echoed through the corridor until there was nothing but silence.
Pssggghhh-kkkkuuuuh
It was all broken by that breathing. Flect Turn was unvered by it, it didn't sound like someone was trying to breathe, it sounded like someone was being forced to breathe through a metal pipe. A crude rendition of a ventilator.
A silhouette walked through the dust, boot falls sounding out where there were none before as if they had dismissed stepping lightly. The figure finally came into view and Flect Turn narrowed his eyes at the man. A tattered cloak hung over most of the man's form with only his hands and lower legs visible.
Clawed gauntlets decorated the man's forearms with one hand holding a cylyndical object with three prongs jutting from one end with flawless metal and a leather grip. The boots looked plated, as if the leather was stretched over the metal plates underneath.
Flect Turn glared at the figure as they just stood there, "Was the pain worth it?" Flect Turn began as he continued walking down the steps, "What precisely do you think your accomplishing by doing this? Defeating the villain of this story? No, you are simply keeping the disease that plagues the world alive!"
Flect Turn was now directly across from his enemy and activated Arachne, the spiked mirrors unfolding around him. "Those cursed meta abilities ruin more lives then they-gurk!" Flect Turn stopped as he felt his throat close. He immediately grabbed for his throat and finally his enemy spoke.
"I do not care for your reasons," They began, their voice distorted and deep, "I'm here because of the casualties your bombs would have caused. The casualties would have been in the billions, Earth's already fragile stability would have been destroyed and the few survivors would not love you. They would hate you."
They raised their hand and suddenly the Arachne began twisting, the mirrors cracked and Flect Turn felt his throat further constrict.
"You are nothing but a child lashing out at a world that does not care for your tantrum," with that they twisted their hand and Flect Turns neck broke. He fell to the floor, his consciousness fading into the abyss of death.
Starkiller watches as the Flect Turns life ebbs away into the Cosmic Force to become one with it. Internally the Sith Assassin scoffed at the idea of Flect Turn's quirk being a curse especially when it wasn't his quirk that pushed others away. His file had many accounts of Flect Turn being a very bitter man and lashing out at others.
He brings up his fist, activating the comm link within his gauntlet with a minute motion form his finger, "Control, the target is dead."
"Good work, Starkiller," his handler said. "With this Humarise is nothing but a terrorist group that never saw the light of day."
Starkiller said nothing, he didn't particularly care for this as it was just another task given to him. Flect Turn was a pathetic man with a pathetic reason for genocide, destroying quirks wouldn't do much to stop humanity from doing atrocities. He himself was the result of an atrocity after all.
"Is there anything else?"
"Not as far as I know. I think you'll be good to have the day off but I can't say anything about later."
Starkiller didn't say anything, simply shutting his comms off and walking back the way he came. His mission was over.
-Japan HPSC Headquarters-
Things have been rather hectic for Japan's Number Three Hero Hawks. A few hours earlier Kamino Ward had been destroyed by a clash between the Symbol of Peace and the Symbol of Fear. It had ended with All Might's victory but it also revealed his actual body which was worn down to looking more skeletal than was healthy.
Hawks wouldn't be very surprised if this event finally forced the Symbol of Peace to retire which would be pretty bad for Japan at large. Statistically speaking, most villains or those who could become villains were cowed into submission by just the presence of All Might. Without that presence Japan was gonna be hit pretty hard with a crime wave.
Hawks assumed that was why he'd been called from his patrol by the President of the HPSC Japan branch herself. Not many people knew Madam President's name as it was heavily protected so villains could not attack any family she had. Hawks didn't even know her name, just that she was a bit of a hardass but not as bad as her predecessor.
He'd most likely have gone the way of Lady Nagant if that were the case.
Hawks shook his head, he shouldn't think about that. It was a rabbit hole of thoughts that only led to questions that he would rather not think of right now, especially as the elevator finally stopped on the floor where Madam President's office was.
A ding signaled the doors opening and Hawks walked out and into the hall leading to a receptionist area. He walked up to the receptionist with a lazy smile, a genuine one though, he actually liked Madam President's secretary.
"How's it hanging Wakataru?" Hawks asked as he stopped in front of the secretaries desk.
"Oh, hello Hawks," Koi Wakataru greeted, "You can head right in, she's waiting for you."
Hawks nodded and made his way to the door but before he could open it Koi called out to him, "Oh, one more thing, are we still on for Friday?"
Hawks chuckled looking back, "Yeah, don't worry. The only thing canceling that is if something important comes up."
"Alright, thanks."
Hawks winks and then enters the office where his smile drops an edge as the doors shut behind him.
Madam President's office was nothing incredibly special, a minimal decoration style and only a leather sofa lined the wall directly to Hawk's right. The woman herself stood looking out on Tokyo with her hands behind her back.
"Hawks, I'd like to congratulate you on your new position as the new number two hero." Madam President greeted, confirming Hawk's belief about All Might. It was still a shock to be sure but he pushed it down with ease thanks to his training.
Hawks shrugged, "Couldn't have done it without you all, but thanks it took effort."
The President looks over at him, "I'm sure. Our previous number two had already set a record with his climb to the position in his late twenties. You broke that record by being several years younger. Thanks to the incident at Kamino."
She turns fully to Hawks and moves behind the desk, "The Symbol of Peace's time is over. A wave of villains and normal criminals were predicted to follow and not even an hour ago people have taken advantage."
Hawks openly grimaced, he like many others in the HPSC had dreaded the day All Might had to step down and even though it wasn't official yet the fallout was already starting. He had at least had the hope that it'd take a week for villains to get bold.
"It'll only get worse in the coming weeks. Villains that hid in the shadows will start crawling out and causing more problems. Had All Might given us a retirement notice we would have gone with a steadily increasing increase in hero patrols and move heroes to the more volatile zones." Her mask of calm broke for a moment and a tired woman emerged with a sigh, "Unfortunately that plan has gone down the drain with All Might clashing against All For One in Kamino Ward."
All For One, the name sent a shiver down Hawks' spine. The legendary villain that once ruled Japan from the shadows until All Might's rise. He'd heard of the villain and knew he was real but some part of him always assumed All For One was a fully shadow villain with no strength to back it up.
Showed what he knew.
"So I unfortunately must rely on a backup plan," she grabs a vanilla folder off her desk and gestured for Hawks to take it. Two feathers fly from his wings and take hold of the folder, bringing it to his hands.
In big red letters obviously stamped on the folder was 'Classified'. Hawks looked up quietly asking if he was actually authorized to be opening the folder and wouldn't be killed the moment he left the building. She nodded in confirmation.
Hawks opened the folder and saw a small envelope, he took it out and examined it before putting it under his armpit to look at the files themselves. As he read his face slowly slackened and his eyes widened, he double checked a few times and he looked up at the President for an explanation.
"What is is that file is real," she confirmed.
Hawks looked down at the file again, "Starkiller is real?"
"Yes."
"Why have I never heard of this?"
"Because it was not your place to know. Starkiller is international agent of the HPSC, usually the Europe branch has him because of all the unrest in the middle eastern countries. We've onlly ever had him once, when he killed Toxic Chainsaw."
"Wait, wait, I thought All Might dealt with that guy and he was locked in Tarturus?"
"All Might did, yes. All Might was not informed of his subsequent breakout from his transport to Tarturus however. You were still being trained then and we had no one else to send after a villain that could harm All Might. I reached out to the African branch as they had him at the time and asked for his services. Starkiller found Toxic Chainsaw at the base of Mount Fuji and ended him."
Hawks looked over the file again, "Is this what we're doing to All For One?" Hawks asked, honestly curious.
The President sighed, "No, he's too public and locked up in Tarturus. I will not have Starkiller break into that place just to kill one man who has no chance of getting out again."
"So, I'm assuming you requested him for a different reason." Hawks already had an idea of why but he wanted to hear it from the President.
"Because we will be at war. All Might was a symbol that made potential villains think four times about their possible actions, but he was only one person holding that pillar and his time is over. As I've already said villains will become much bolder and villains once hiding in the shadows will come out into the light. We need someone to handle this and quickly."
"So we bring an assassin?"
"A scalpel with a hammer's handle," she responded, "Starkiller isn't very clean with what he does. Unlike most operatives he has immunities to how we usually operate but knows how to keep his activities from tracing back to us."
Madam President sits down in her chair and looks at Hawks, "He'll be here within a week. I want you to be here when he arrives."
Hawks nodded, "Anything I should know about him in advance?"
"No, he doesn't respond to most things. I would suggest you not test that though."
Madam President had no need to worry about that, Hawks had no intention of doing so.
Starkiller is my favorite EU character as he was apart of the first Star Wars game I can remember playing so he's always held a special place in my heart. When I was in my MHA phase I had come up with a story involving Starkiller in MHA but realized so many people use the original Galen Marek from the true ending so I thought why not use the Dark Side ending version.
After my phase ended I scrapped the idea but came across it again while scrolling my docs. I decided to do something for Star Wars day and here we are. This is the only one I'm doing but if anyone wants to take the idea and run with it go right ahead, I don't care just make sure to send me a link so I can read it.
