Chapter 62 Kanto League Top 8 Gary vs Paul
Hello everyone, this chapter will cover Gary and Paul's battle. I hope you all enjoy it!
The chapter begins where the last one ended with Gary and Paul staring at each other waiting for the battle to begin. The gang is in the stands also waiting for the battle to start as Brock speaks.
"I can't believe we're actually going to be watching Gary vs Paul" Brock says as Misty speaks.
"I wonder how Gary will do?" Misty questions as Leaf speaks.
"He'll win I'm sure of it" Leaf responds having a determined look on her face with the group nodding as they turn back to the battlefield. Meanwhile Ash is silent, he's laser focused on the battlefield waiting for the battle to start. Now we come to the building where Red, Blue, Delia, Oak, Goodshow and the elite 4 are they're also interested in this battle as Bruno speaks.
"This should be an interesting battle" Bruno says as Lorelai speaks.
"Yes, throughout the league so far they've both proven to be very skilled trainers" Lorelai says with the others nodding. Rose then looks at Blue and speaks.
"Do you think Gary's going to win?" Rose asks as Blue speaks.
"Of course, he is he's my son after all" Blue says in a confident tone as Red speaks.
"That look in Gary's eyes he's serious" Red says as Oak speaks.
"Yes, Gary knows that Paul is an opponent he can't be overconfident with otherwise it'll end badly for him" Oak says with the others nodding. Back on the battlefield the ref makes himself known and speaks.
"This is a full 6v6 battle between Paul of Veilstone City and Gary Oak of Pallet Town. Both trainers are allowed to substitute their Pokémon at any time and the winner will be decided on whoever knocks out all of their opponents Pokémon first." The ref says with Paul and Gary nodding as he continues to speak.
"Now let's see which battlefield you'll battle on!" The ref says everyone then looks at a screen they see a light flashing on each of the battlefields, it keeps going for a few seconds until it stops landing on the ice field the ref then speaks.
"The battle shall take place on the ice field!" The ref says everyone sees the plain battlefield turn into an ice field. Back in the stands Misty speaks.
"So, they're battling on an ice field" Misty says as Brock speaks.
"It'll be a good battlefield for their ice type Pokémon" Brock says with the group nodding. Back on the battlefield the ref speaks.
"Now will both trainers please send out your first Pokémon" The ref says as both trainers speak.
"Go Scizor!" "Grimmsnarl stand by for battle!" Both trainers say as they throw their Pokeball's forward. Gary's Scizor appears first and gets into a battle stance. Paul's Pokémon then appears it's a large bipedal Pokemon with green skin and dark-purple hair covering its body. The mon lets out a mighty roar and gets into a battle stance as Ash speaks.
"Who's that Pokémon?" Ash questions as he along with Leaf and Ritchie scan it with their Pokedex's.
"Grimmsnarl, the Bulk Up Pokémon a Dark/Fairy type and the evolved form of Morgrem. Grimmsnarl's hairs move like muscle fibers. When spread out, they can move on their own to tangle up opponents." The Pokedex says as Brock speaks.
"In terms of type Gary's Scizor has the overall advantage since both of its typing's are super effective against Grimmsnarl" Brock says as Leaf speaks.
"True but this is Paul we're talking about he probably has a way to cover Grimmsnarls weakness Gary will need to be careful" Leaf says with the group nodding. Ash along with Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie continue to watch on in silence as the ref speaks.
"Now that both trainers have sent out their first Pokémon you may now begin!" The ref calls as Gary speaks.
"Scizor use Bullet Punch!" Gary calls Scizor quickly covers its fist in steel energy then flies forward reaching Grimmsnarl instantly. As Scizor goes to punch Grimmsnarl Paul makes a command.
"Use False Surrender" Paul calls Grimmsnarl quickly gets on its knees surrendering making Scizor stop its pursuit as Gary speaks.
"Scizor keep going it's a trap!" Gary calls Scizor nods but before it can hit Grimmsnarl the bulk up Pokemon quickly punches Scizor hard in the stomach making the steel bug cough in pain as Paul speaks.
"Now grab it" "Back away Scizor!" Both trainers call Grimmsnarl quickly grabs Scizor before it could back away and begins squeezing it tightly as Paul speaks.
"Use Bulk Up then Fire Punch" Paul calls Grimmsnarl bulks up its body increasing its attack/defense it continues to hold onto Scizor tightly until it lets go of the bug. Grimmsnarl covers its right fist in fire and punches Scizor hard in the stomach making the steel bug cough in pain. Scizor is then sent flying and crashes into one of the ice boulders as Gary speaks.
"Scizor!" Gary calls in worry when the dust clears everyone can see Gary's Scizor it's completely knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Scizor is unable to battle Grimmsnarl's the winner!" The ref calls Grimmsnarl roars in victory while Paul isn't surprised. Gary has a surprised look on his face as does everyone else in the crowd, in the stands Leaf speaks.
"Gary's Scizor lost that easily? It's one of his strongest Pokémon" Leaf says as Brock speaks.
"Paul must've raised his Grimmsnarls attack power to be very high and if you add that with Bulk Up the outcome is obvious" Brock says with the group nodding they turn back to the battlefield and see Gary return Scizor. Gary looks at the Pokeball and speaks.
"Thanks, Scizor and sorry" Gary says he puts the ball back on his belt as Paul speaks.
"I have to say I'm not impressed so far if your first Pokemon got taken out that easily" Paul says as Gary speaks.
"Don't worry that was just a warmup" Gary responds as Paul speaks.
"You call that a warmup? If it was then that had to have been the worst "warm up" I've ever seen talk about pathetic" Paul says with Grimmsnarl nodding. Gary grits his teeth but calms himself down he grabs his next Pokeball and speaks.
"My next Pokémon will give you a challenge Go Houndoom!" Gary says he throws the Pokeball forward as the hell hound appears. Houndoom lets out a mighty roar then gets into a battle stance glaring at Grimmsnarl with Grimmsnarl glaring back. Back in the stands Misty speaks.
"Houndoom's Gary's next choice" Misty says with the group nodding back on the battlefield Paul speaks.
"I hope your Houndoom isn't disappointing like your Scizor was" Paul says as Gary speaks.
"Heh you'll see" Gary responds while having a confident smile. The ref calls for the battle to continue as Gary makes the first move.
"Houndoom use Nasty Plot then Flamethrower!" Gary calls Houndoom roars it sharply increases its special attack. Houndoom heats up its mouth and fires a big Flamethrower at Grimmsnarl as Paul speaks.
"Use Bulk Up again and block!" Paul calls Grimmsnarl increases its attack and defense again. Grimmsnarl quickly brings up its arms and begins to block the Flamethrower. The Flamethrower pushes Grimmsnarl back a little bit but the bulk up Pokémon roars it swings out its arms and gets rid of the Flamethrower. When that happens Houndoom appears in front of Grimmsnarl as Gary speaks.
"Houndoom use Sludge Bomb!" Gary calls Houndoom fires a big ball of sludge right in Grimmsnarls face making the mon skid back and cause super effective damage. Grimmsnarl then begins to cough as it is now poisoned, Gary smiles and calls for his next command.
"Great job Houndoom now use Flamethrower!" Gary calls Houndoom fires the stream of fire again as Paul speaks.
"Grimmsnarl use Darkest Lariat!" Paul calls Grimmsnarl nods it covers its fists in purple fire then spins forward. Grimmsnarl easily bypasses the Flamethrower then hits Houndoom causing some damage to it as Paul calls for his next command.
"Now use Spirit Break!" Paul calls Grimmsnarl stops spinning rays of light come out of Grimmsnarls torso as it then punches Houndoom hard in the stomach with its left fist. The hell hound coughs in pain as it's sent flying landing below Gary's feet as Gary speaks.
"Houndoom!" Gary calls in worry Houndoom stands up it groans in pain and feels its special attack decrease. Houndoom then glares back at Grimmsnarl as Paul speaks.
"So, it can still move" Paul says he then pulls out Grimmsnarls Pokeball and speaks.
"Grimmsnarl return!" Paul says with Grimmsnarl nodding it goes back in its Pokeball as Paul grabs another Pokeball and speaks.
"Jellicent stand by for battle!" Paul says he throws his Pokeball forward a big blue jellyfish like Pokémon with a mustache and is floating appears. Back in the stands Ash and Ritchie pull out their Pokedex's to scan it.
"Jellicent, the Floating Pokémon a Water/Ghost type and the evolved form of Frillish. Using life energy for food, Jellicent swims by absorbing seawater, then expelling it." The Pokedex says as Leaf speaks.
"So, that's the male version of Jellicent it looks bigger than mine" Leaf says, back on the battlefield the ref calls for the battle to continue as Gary begins to think.
"So, his next Pokémon's a Jellicent Houndoom's not only at a type disadvantage but is heavily damaged from its battle with Grimmsnarl I need to switch" Gary says to himself as he goes to switch out Houndoom Paul speaks.
"Jellicent use Hydro Pump!" Paul calls Jellicent instantly fires the big stream of water it heads for Houndoom as Gary speaks.
"Houndoom dodge!" Gary calls Houndoom quickly dodges to the right easily evading the Hydro Pump when it does Jellicent appears in front of it as Paul speaks.
"Now use Confuse Ray!" "Houndoom quick use Smog!" Both trainers call Houndoom quickly shoots out a purple cloud of smoke. The move successfully hits Jellicent causing some damage along with making Jellicent cough, as it's coughing Houndoom's now behind Jellicent it has its teeth ready as Gary speaks.
"Now use Thunder Fang!" Gary calls Houndoom covers its teeth in electricity and goes to bite down on Jellicent as Paul speaks.
"Use Whirlpool!" Paul calls before Houndoom bites down on Jellicent the floating Jellyfish quickly summons a Whirlpool which gets rid of the Smog and captures Houndoom making it spin out of control as Gary speaks.
"Houndoom break out of their with Foul Play!" "Jellicent use Confuse Ray" Both trainers call when Houndoom begins to cover its body in dark energy Jellicent appears in front of it surprising the hell hound. Jellicents eyes then flash as it successfully confuses Houndoom shocking Gary as Paul makes a command.
"Now use Hex and end it with Hydro Pump!" Paul calls Jellicents eyes glow in ghostly energy as it fires multiple whisp at Houndoom causing major damage and making the hell hound groan in pain. Jellicent then fires a point-blank Hydro Pump at Houndoom consuming Houndoom and causing super effective damage. Houndoom cries out in pain as it's then sent flying out of the Whirlpool and crashes back down on the battlefield creating a dust cloud. When the dust clears everyone can see Houndoom it's laying on its left side knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Houndoom's unable to battle Jellicent's the winner!" The ref calls neither Paul nor Jellicent are surprised while Gary has a shocked expression on his face. The crowd is also surprised that Gary lost another Pokemon, back in the stands Misty speaks.
"Gary lost another Pokemon" Misty says as Ritchie speaks.
"And so far, Paul's Pokémon have barely taken any damage" Ritchie says as Brock speaks.
"I don't know what's going on with Gary but he's not doing well against Paul so far" Brock says as Leaf speaks.
"He'll figure something out right Ash?" Leaf asks while looking at the boy. Ash is looking at the battlefield and has an angry look on his face he doesn't like how poorly Gary's doing so far. Back on the battlefield Gary looks at Houndoom he gets a sad look on his face pulls out Houndooms Pokeball and speaks.
"Houndoom return" Gary says returning the hell hound Gary looks at the ball telling Houndoom sorry as Paul speaks.
"Seeing as you're the champion's son I was expecting more of a challenge so far I'm disappointed" Paul says, Gary looks at Paul having an angry look on his face Gary then frowns as he begins to think.
"He's right what's wrong with me?" Gary questions as he then hears Ash's voice.
"GARY WHAT'RE YOU DOING?!" Ash's voice echoes as everyone looks at where Ash is they see the boy standing up having an angry look on his face as Gary speaks.
"Ash" Gary says as Ash speaks.
"Come on Gary you're better than this why're you doubting yourself?! You're a strong trainer with strong Pokémon, the son of Champion Blue, Grandson of Prof. Oak and my rival! I don't like seeing you like this, it's not fair to you or your Pokémon! SO COME ON GARY SHOW THAT PALLET TOWN SPIRIT AND SHOW PAUL WHY YOU'RE MY RIVAL!" "YEAH! GARY ASH'S RIGHT KICK PAULS BUTT!" Ash yells with Leaf yelling as well agreeing with Ash. Gary looks at them he then looks at the building where his dad and Grandfather are they're cheering for him too. Gary puts his head down and he begins to remember everything he experienced on his journey along with his time with Ash, Leaf and his family. Gary looks back at Ash smirks and speaks.
"You're right Ash sorry for disappointing you from here on out I'll show you why I'm your rival and why I'm stronger than you!" Gary states having a confident look on his face. Ash looks at Gary, he smiles and speaks.
"You better now show Paul what you're made of!" "Yeah Go! Gary!" Ash and Leaf cheer loudly for Gary making the boy smile. Gary then turns back to the battlefield he looks at Paul as Paul speaks.
"So, are you finally going to get serious? or are you still going to be pathetic" Paul asks as Gary speaks.
"Heh don't worry from here on out I'm serious and the one who'll look pathetic at the end will be you" Gary responds having a confident smile on his face Paul smirks and speaks.
"Hmph okay then bring out your next Pokémon" Paul says with Gary nodding he grabs his next Pokeball and speaks.
"Here's my next Pokémon Go! Alakazam!" Gary says he throws the ball forward as his Alakazam appears it has a serious look on its face and is ready to battle. Neither Paul nor Jellicent are worried, the ref calls for the battle to continue as Paul speaks.
"Jellicent use Dark Pulse!" Paul calls Jellicent fires the stream of dark energy as Gary speaks.
"Alakazam use Teleport then Disable!" Gary calls Alakazam teleports dodging the Dark Pulse. Alakazam's now in front of Jellicent its eyes glow blue and disables Jellicent's Dark Pulse surprising the Jellyfish as Gary calls for his next command.
"Now use Psychic!" Gary calls Alakazam's eyes glow blue it incases Jellicent in psychic energy and sends it flying making it crash into a nearby ice boulder. Jellicent then appears from the boulder it floats back in the air as Paul speaks.
"Jellicent use Shadow Ball!" Paul calls Jellicent fires a ghostly ball it heads for Alakazam as Gary speaks.
"Alakazam use Psycho Cut!" Gary calls Alakazam swings its right arm upward sending out a psychic slash that easily cuts through the Shadow Ball and hits Jellicent causing some damage to it as Gary speaks.
"Now use Psychic!" "Jellicent use Double Team then Ominous Wind!" Both trainers call Alakazam fires the psychic waves it goes to hit Jellicent but the jellyfish quickly creates multiple clones of itself dodging the attack and surrounding Alakazam. Jellicent along with its clones fire a ghostly wind it goes to hit Alakazam as Gary speaks.
"Use Teleport Alakazam then use Thunder Punch!" Gary calls Alakazam quickly teleports avoiding the Ominous wind. Alakazam appears behind the real Jellicent covers its right fist in electricity and punches the jellyfish's back sending Jellicent back down on the battlefield. A few seconds later as Jellicent's about to float back in the air it sees Alakazam heading for it, Jellicent then feels the disable has finally worn off as Alakazam is getting closer Paul speaks.
"Use Dark Pulse!" Paul calls Jellicent fires the dark stream of energy as it's going to hit Alakazam Gary speaks.
"Alakazam use Protect then Energy Ball!" Gary calls Alakazam quickly summons a protective barrier blocking Jellicents attack, when the barrier goes down Alakazam fires a ball of grassy energy right in Jellicents face creating an explosion. When the explosion clears everyone looks at the battlefield, they see Alakazam standing over an unconscious Jellicent as the ref speaks.
"Jellicent's unable to battle Alakazam is the winner!" The ref calls the crowd lets out a loud cheer while Gary breathes a sigh of relief, he looks at Alakazam and speaks.
"Great job Alakazam" Gary says with the Psi Pokemon nodding. In the stands Ash and Leaf cheer as Leaf speaks.
"He finally defeated one of Paul's Pokemon!" Leaf says happily as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, that's the Gary I know" Ash says with Leaf nodding. Back on the battlefield Paul looks at Jellicent he pulls out its Pokeball and speaks.
"Jellicent return" Paul says returning the jellyfish back to its Pokeball. Paul grabs his next Pokeball and speaks.
"Grimmsnarl stand by for battle!" Paul says sending Grimmsnarl back in the mon lets out a loud roar. It then suffers from poison damage but shakes it off and looks forward getting in a battle stance as Gary begins to think.
"Grimmsnarl's back in Alakazam can probably defeat it but just in case it'll be better to switch" Gary says to himself he pulls out Alakazam's Pokeball and speaks.
"Alakazam return!" Gary says returning the mon back to its Pokeball. Gary grabs his next Pokeball he goes to throw it and speaks.
"Go Blastoise!" Gary says he throws the ball forward as his Blastoise appears. It lands on the battlefield shaking it a little bit then gets in a battle stance. Back in the stands Misty speaks.
"Gary's bringing in his Blastoise now?" Misty questions as Brock speaks.
"Gary probably feels that Blastoise has the best chance at taking down Grmmsnarl" Brock says as Jackie speaks.
"Grimmsnarl's also poisoned too so it shouldn't take too long for Blastoise to defeat it" Jackie says with the group nodding. They continue to look at the battlefield as Gary looks at Blastoise and speaks.
"I'm counting on you Blastoise!" Gary says with the turtle nodding as it gets in a battle stance Grimmsnarl gets in a battle stance too, the ref calls for the battle to continue as Gary makes the first move.
"Blastoise use Hydro Pump!" Gary calls Blastoise quickly brings out its cannons and shoots out a big stream of water at Grimmsnarl Paul then speaks.
"Grimmsnarl use Darkest Lariat!" Paul calls Grimmsnarl covers its fist in purple fire then spins forward and begins to easily bypass the Hydro Pump. Grimmsnarl keeps spinning until it gets rid of the Hydro Pump and is now in front of Blastoise Paul then speaks.
"Now use Spirit Break!" "Blastoise use Protect!" Both trainers call bright lights come out of Grimmsnarls body and covers its left fist in fairy energy. As Grimmsnarl goes to punch Blastoise the blue turtle quickly summons a protective barrier blocking Grimmsnarls fist, when Grimmsnarls fist hits the barrier, it cracks it a little as Paul speaks.
"Keep using Spirit Break!" Paul calls Grimmsnarl nods it covers its right fist in fairy energy and begins to continuously punch the barrier making it crack more Grimmsnarl also suffers from poison damage but ignores the pain. As Grimmsnarl keeps punching it's making it harder for Blastoise to keep the barrier up as Gary speaks.
"Stay strong Blastoise!" Gary says with Blastoise nodding it continues to keep the barrier up while Grimmsnarl keeps punching making the barrier crack more and more until Paul speaks.
"Now hit it one more time!" Paul calls Grimmsnarl goes to punch the barrier again as Gary speaks.
"Blastoise deactivate the Protect then use Waterfall!" Gary calls Blastoise quickly deactivates the barrier then backs away making Grimmsnarl stumble a little. Blastoise then covers its body in water and shoots forward hitting Grimmsnarls chest making the bulk up Pokemon groan in pain. Blastoise then points its cannon's forward as Gary speaks.
"Now Hydro Pump!" "Grimmsnarl dodge!" Both trainers call Grimmsnarl's unable to dodge as it's not only being affected by the poison, but the Waterfall also caused it to flinch. Blastoise then fires a point-blank Hydro Pump which consumes Grimmsnarl making it go flying. Grimmsnarl goes through a few ice boulders until it lands below Paul's feet knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Grimmsnarl's unable to battle Blastoise's the winner!" The ref calls Gary and Blastoise smile while the crowd cheers. Back in the stands Brock speaks.
"I see Gary knew Paul would have Grimmsnarl attack Blastoise directly, so he had Blastoise use Protect to block Grimmsnarls attacks and while Grimmsnarl kept attacking trying to break the protect barrier it continued to suffer from poison damage" Brock says as Ritchie speaks.
"Then when the barrier was going to break and Grimmsnarl was going to hit it one more time Gary had Blastoise drop the barrier allowing it to dodge Grimmsnarls attack. After that had Blastoise use Waterfall which caused Grimmsnarl to flinch and then finish it off with Hydro Pump." Ritchie says with the group nodding Misty then speaks.
"Looks like Gary's finally acting like himself" Misty says Leaf nods and speaks.
"Yeah! Go! Gary!" Leaf cheers loud for Gary while Ash has a smile on his face happy that Gary's putting up a fight. Back on the battlefield Paul looks at Grimmsnarl he's disappointed that it lost then returns it to its Pokeball. Paul grabs his next Pokeball before he throws it, he notices Gary returning Blastoise to its Pokeball and speaks.
"You're not going to keep your Blastoise out?" Paul asks as Gary speaks.
"I don't need to my other Pokemon should be enough to defeat the rest of yours" Gary responds having a confident look on his face as Paul speaks.
"I doubt it" Paul responds as he throws his Pokeball forward and speaks.
"Chandelure stand by for battle!" Paul says what appears from the Pokeball is a ghost chandelier with purple flames. The mon looks forward waiting for its opponent, back in the stands Ash, Leaf and Ritchie scan the mon with their Pokedex's.
"Chandelure the Luring Pokémon a Fire/Ghost type. Chandelure uses its dancing flames to hypnotize opponents." The Pokedex says. Back on the battlefield Gary looks at Chandelure and speaks.
"So, a Chandelure's next then I'll go with you Alakazam come back out!" Gary says he throws the ball forward as his Alakazam appears again it looks at its opponent then gets in a battle stance with Chandelure doing the same. The ref calls for the battle to continue as Gary speaks.
"Alakazam use Psychic!" Gary calls Alakazam quickly fires the waves of psychic energy as Paul speaks.
"Chandelure dodge then use Nasty Plot!" Paul calls Chandelure easily evades the psychic it then sharply increases its special attack as Gary speaks.
"Alakazam raise your special attack with Nasty Plot too!" Gary calls with Alakazam nodding it sharply raises its special attack power as Paul speaks.
"Use Dark Pulse!" Paul calls Chandelure fires the stream of dark energy as Gary speaks.
"Heh, I knew you'd do that Alakazam use Teleport to dodge then use Disable!" Gary calls Alakazam quickly teleports away avoiding the Dark Pulse. Alakazam appears in front of Chandelure as it goes to disable the move Paul speaks.
"And I knew you'd try this Chandelure use Confide then Will-O-Wisp!" Paul calls Chandelure quickly whispers something in Alakazams ear making it lose concentration and lowering its special attack. Chandelure then creates 5 Wisp of ghostly energy and fires them at Alakazam giving it the burn status, Alakazam cries out in pain from the fire it falls on the ground as Paul speaks.
"Now Dark Pulse!" Paul calls Chandelure fires the dark stream of energy as Gary speaks.
"Alakazam quick use Protect then use Psycho Cut!" Gary calls Alakazam quickly summons a protective barrier blocking the stream of dark energy. When the Dark pulse is gone, and the barrier goes down Alakazam swings its arm firing not just one but multiple slashes of psychic energy which hit Chandelure causing some damage to it and making it spin out of control as Gary speaks.
"Now Alakazam use Light Screen and Reflect!" Gary calls Alakazam quickly summons 10 light barriers in front of it increasing its defense and special defense as Paul speaks.
"Chandelure use Payback!" Paul calls Chandelure stops spinning it covers its body in dark energy and shoots forward going to collide with Alakazam's barriers as Gary speaks.
"You just made a bad move that Payback won't do much to Alakazam thanks to the Reflect" Gary says as Paul speaks.
"You sure about that" Paul says while having a smirk on his face making Gary confused. As Chandelure's getting closer to the barrier it then connects with it and begins to easily fly through the barriers shocking everyone. Chandelure keeps going until it rams its body into Alakazam making the Psi Pokemon cough in pain from the super effective hit as Gary speaks.
"Your Chandelure does it have the Infiltrator ability?" Gary asks as Paul continues to smirk then calls for his next command.
"Now use Hex!" "Alakazam use Teleport to dodge!" Both trainers call when Alakazam goes to dodge it becomes consumed in flames stopping its movements. This allows Chandelure to fire the Hex and hit Alakazam. Alakazam's consumed in a ghostly energy making it cry out in pain, this goes on for a few seconds until the Hex goes away and Alakazam's left standing. Before Gary can ask Alakazam if it's okay the Psi Pokemon drops its spoons on the ground then falls down laying on its stomach knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Alakazam's unable to battle Chandelure's the winner!" The ref calls the crowd cheers while Paul and Chandelure aren't surprised. Gary has a shocked look on his face, back in the stands Ritchie speaks.
"That was smart of Paul by having Alakazam get close with Disable it allowed for Paul to call for confide to stop Alakazam and lower its special attack. Then called for Will-O-Wisp to burn Alakazam inflicting a status condition and causing damage over time." Ritchie says as Brock speaks.
"Then after letting Chandelure get hit by the Psycho Cuts Paul knew Gary would have Alakazam setup Light Screens/Reflects allowing for Paul to call for payback as thanks to Chandelures Infiltrator ability it was able to pass through the barriers, hit Alakazam causing double the damage it took from the Psycho Cut and finish it off with Hex which did more damage thanks to Alakazam being burned" Brock says with the group nodding. Back on the battlefield Gary recomposes himself he returns Alakazam back to its Pokeball telling it thank you as Paul speaks.
"You should've switched back to your Blastoise when you have the chance it was foolish of you to keep in your Alakazam I expected better" Paul says in a disappointed tone as Gary speaks.
"While that is true, I'm confident that if I did bring Blastoise back in you probably would've switch to a different Pokémon, right?" Gary asks but Paul doesn't respond Gary smirks then speaks.
"Heh, you don't need to answer you know I'm right besides the battle's not over yet and my next Pokémon will take down your Chandelure" Gary states while holding a Pokeball forward making Paul curious he sees Gary throw the Pokeball forward and speaks.
"Go! Dragapult!" Gary says as his Dragapult appears it has an excited look on its face ready to battle. Paul looks at the ghost dragon, he can feel how strong it is but isn't worried, he looks at Chandelure and speaks.
"Chandelure I'm still keeping you in" Paul says with Chandelure nodding it gets into a battle stance with Dragapult doing the same. The ref calls for the battle to continue as Paul and Gary speak.
"Chandelure use Dark Pulse!" "Dragapult counter with Dragon Pulse!" Both trainers call the two-mons fire their moves. The two attacks travel down the battlefield then collide, they go back and forth for a little bit until Dragapult's Dragon Pulse begins to overpower the Dark Pulse which surprises Paul. As the Dragon Pulse is about to hit Chandelure Paul speaks.
"Chandelure dodge then use Shadow Ball!" Paul calls Chandelure narrowly avoids the Dragon Pulse by moving to the right. Chandelure then creates a ball of ghostly energy and sends it at Dragapult as Gary speaks.
"Dragapult knock it back with Dragon Tail!" Gary calls Dragapult covers its tail in green dragon energy and slaps the Shadow Ball back at Chandelure as Paul speaks.
"Chandelure destroy it with Dark Pulse!" Paul calls Chandelure quickly fires the stream of dark energy and destroys the Shadow Ball creating an explosion. When the smoke clears Dragapult appears in front of Chandelure surprising the mon as Gary speaks.
"Dragapult use Dragon Breath!" "Chandelure use Confide!" "Dragapult use Phantom Force!" Both trainers call when Dragapult goes to fire the white stream of dragon energy Chandelure quickly goes to whisper in Dragapults ear. But Dragapult manages to dodge by going into a portal, Dragapult then appears from behind Chandelure and hits its back which makes the ghostly chandelier fall on the battlefield groaning in pain as Gary speaks.
"Now use Dragon Pulse!" Gary calls Dragapult fires the dragon beam it heads for Chandelure as Paul speaks.
"Chandelure use Double Team to dodge!" Paul calls Chandelure quickly creates multiple clones of itself allowing it to dodge the Dragon Pulse and surround Dragapult. Dragapult looks at Chandelure and its copies as Paul speaks.
"Now Chandelure use Dark Pulse!" Paul calls Chandelure and its copies fire the stream of dark energy they go to hit Dragapult as Gary speaks.
"Use Phantom Force!" Gary calls Dragapult quickly disappears again dodging the move when that happens Paul speaks.
"I knew you'd try that again Chandelure turn around and fire a Dark Pulse!" Paul calls Chandelure nods it quickly turns around expecting Dragapult to appear behind it as Gary smirks and speaks.
"And I knew you'd try that Dragapult use Phantom Force!" Gary calls Dragapult appears from above Chandelure it shoots downward and hits its head on Chandelure causing super effective damage and surprising Paul as he speaks.
"Chandelure now that Dragapult's close use Will-O-Wisp!" "I don't think so use Night Shade!" Both trainers call before Chandelure can fire the ghostly wisps Dragapults eyes glow in ghostly energy and fires two dark crimson beams from its eyes that hit Chandelure making it crash back down on the battlefield as Gary speaks.
"Now use Shadow Ball!" "Chandelure dodge!" Both trainers call Dragapult fires the ghostly ball it heads for Chandelure but the mon quickly flies back in the air avoiding the attack. When it does the Dreepy in Dragapults horns get ready as Gary speaks.
"Now use Dragon Darts!" Gary calls Dragapult fires two Dreepys out of its horns. The two-mons fly through the air at a fast speed before Paul can make a command the two Dreepys hit Chandelure and create an explosion. Chandelure appears from the explosion it falls on the battlefield knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Chandelure's unable to battle Dragapult's the winner!" The ref calls Gary and Dragapult smile while the crowd cheers The Light Screen and Reflect barriers also go away. Back in the stands Leaf speaks.
"Nice Gary defeated another one of Paul's Pokemon!" Leaf cheers happily with the others nodding. Back on the battlefield Gary tells Dragapult great job with the ghost dragon nodding, meanwhile on the other side of the battlefield Paul pulls out Chandelures Pokeball and speaks.
"Return" Paul says as Chandelure goes back in its Pokeball. Paul pulls out another Pokeball and speaks.
"Duraludon stand by for battle!" Paul says he throws the ball forward what appears is a dragon whose body is covered in steel. The mon lets out a mighty roar and has a serious look on its face as Gary speaks.
"So, a Duraludon's next" Gary says while looking at the Pokemon. Back in the stands Ash, Leaf and Ritchie pull out their Pokedex's to scan the mon.
"Duraludon, the Alloy Pokémon a Steel/Dragon type. Duraludon sports a metallic body with a beautiful luster of polished, shining metal." The Pokedex says as Giselle speaks.
"That Duraludon looks strong" Giselle says as Leaf speaks.
"True but I know that Gary's Pokémon can defeat it right Ash?" Leaf asks with Ash nodding in agreement. Back on the battlefield Gary looks at Duraludon he then looks at Dragapult and speaks.
"Dragapult I'm returning you for now I'll need you later" Gary says with Dragapult nodding it goes back in its Pokeball as Paul speaks.
"Who're you bringing in next?" Paul asks curiously as Gary speaks.
"I'm bringing in this one Tyranitar Go!" Gary says he throws the ball forward as his shiny Tyranitar appears the armor Pokémon lets out a mighty roar creating a shockwave. A few seconds later Tyranitar stops roaring it looks at Duraludon and begins to growl with Duraludon doing the same thing. Back in the stands Joe speaks.
"It looks like Tyranitar and Duraludon don't like each other" Joe says as Brock speaks.
"That's because Tyranitar and Duraludon are natural rivals who always compete to see who's stronger" Brock says with Joe nodding. Back on the battlefield Paul speaks.
"You're really sending out a rock/dark type against my steel/dragon type? I thought you were a lot smarter" Paul says as Gary speaks.
"While it's true that in terms of typing your Duraludon does have the advantage but I'm confident that my Tyranitar can win" Gary responds with Tyranitar nodding while Paul stares. The ref calls for the battle to continue as Paul makes the first move.
"Duraludon use Flash Cannon!" Paul calls Duraludon fires the steel beam it heads for Tyranitar as Gary speaks.
"Tyranitar destroy it with Fire Fang!" Gary calls Tyranitar heats up its mouth and bites down on the Flash Cannon easily destroying it. Paul isn't fazed as he calls for his next move.
"Duraludon use Metal Claw!" Paul calls Duraludon covers its claws in steel energy and shoots forward reaching Tyranitar in an instant. Duraludon jabs Tyranitar with its right claw sending it crashing into an ice boulder as Gary speaks.
"Tyranitar!" Gary calls in worry as Tyranitar appears it roars and is ready to continue but that Metal Claw did hurt. Gary looks at Paul and speaks.
"Does your Duraludon have the Light Metal ability?" Gary asks but Paul doesn't answer this doesn't bother Gary though as he can tell by just looking at Paul's face that he's right. Back in the stands Ash speaks.
"What's Light Metal?" Ash asks as Harrison speaks.
"Light Metal is an ability which halves the Pokemon's weight making it faster" Harrison says as Brock speaks.
"Not only that but since they're battling on an ice field Duraludon's going to be much master because of sliding on the ice" Brock says with the group nodding. Back on the battlefield Paul speaks.
"Duraludon use Hone Claws then Metal Claw again!" Paul calls Duraludon increases its attack/accuracy it then covers its claws in steel energy and heads for Tyranitar as Gary speaks.
"Tyranitar counter with Fire Punch!" "Duraludon dodge to the left and hit Tyranitar!" Both trainers call Tyranitar heats up its right fist it goes to punch Duraludon but the steel dragon dodges to the left and is now on Tyranitars right side. Duraludon then punches Tyranitar across the face with Metal Claw causing super effective damage and making Tyranitar skid back a few feet as Paul speaks.
"Now use Flash Cannon!" "Tyranitar Hydro Pump!" Both trainers call Duraludon fires the steel beam while Tyranitar fires the big stream of water the two moves clash and create an explosion. Duraludon appears from the explosion it's in front of Tyranitar as Gary speaks.
"Now Tyranitar use Fire Punch!" "Duraludon Iron Defense!" Both trainers call Tyranitar heats up its right fist it goes to punch Duraludon but the steel dragon quickly shines sharply increasing its defense. Tyranitar punches Duraludon it hurts the steel dragon a little bit but not by much as Paul speaks.
"Now use Metal Sound!" "Tyranitar back away!" Both trainers call before Tyranitar can back away Duraludon lets out a metal clanging screech hurting not only Tyranitars ears but also Gary's along with some of the people in the crowd. Tyranitar feels its special defense lower as Paul speaks.
"Now use Flash Cannon!" "Tyranitar block!" Both trainers call Duraludon fires the steel beam while Tyranitar quickly brings up its arms successfully blocking the attack. Tyranitar is pushed back a few feet away then stops, Tyranitar then begins to pant a little bit as even though it blocked the Flash Cannon it still did some damage to it Paul then speaks.
"Looks like it's over for your Tyranitar, Duraludon end it with Metal Claw!" Paul calls with Duraludon nodding it covers its claws in steel energy and reaches Tyranitar in an instant. As Duraludon goes to hit Tyranitar Gary smiles and speaks.
"Sorry but Tyranitar's not done yet Tyranitar use Iron Defense then Thunder Wave!" Gary calls Tyranitar quickly shines sharply increasing its defense. When Duraludon hits Tyranitar it does some damage to it but not a lot, Tyranitar then lets out a mighty roar firing multiple electric rings which hit Duraludon and successfully paralyzes it. Back in the stands Ritchie speaks.
"I see Gary knew Paul was going to try and finish off Tyranitar with Metal Claw, so he quickly called for Iron Defense increasing Tyranitars defense then used Thunder Wave to paralyze and limit Duraludons movements" Ritchie says with the group nodding. Back on the battlefield Gary calls for his next command.
"Now use Hydro Pump!" "Block Duraludon!" Both trainers call Tyranitar fires the big stream of water while Duraludon quickly brings up its arms to block the attack. Duraludon's getting pushed back until it manages to stop itself then glares at Tyranitar who's glaring back as Paul speaks.
"You may've increased your Tyranitars defense and paralyzed Duraludon but it we compare the two mons your Tyranitar is more worn out than my Duraludon so I'll end this battle with my next move" Paul says with Duraludon roaring as Gary speaks.
"Heh it's true that Tyranitar is tired but I'm confident that it can easily beat Duraludons final attack" Gary responds with Tyranitar roaring in agreement as Paul speaks.
"Okay I'm curious Duraludon use Steel Beam!" Paul calls "It knows Steel Beam?!" Gary says in shock as Duraludon gets on all fours it begins to charge up steel energy in its body. Duraludon keeps charging more and more until it fires a large beam of steel energy that heads for Tyranitar. Gary and Tyranitar have worried expressions on their faces while Paul has a smile confident in his victory, as the Steel Beam is going to hit Tyranitar Gary smiles and speaks.
"While that looks impressive my Tyranitar will destroy it Tyranitar use Fire Blast!" Gary calls Tyranitar lets out a mighty roar it creates a big Fire Blast and fires it at the incoming Steel Beam. The two moves then collide in the middle of the battlefield and begin fighting for dominance pushing each other back and forth until Paul speaks.
"Just because you used a fire type move doesn't mean it'll work on Steel Beam" Paul says as the Steel Beam begins to push the Fire Blast back as Gary speaks.
"Oh, I know that's why I'm going to do this Tyranitar fire 2 more Fire Blasts!" Gary says surprising Paul as Tyranitar fires two more Fire Blast which connect with the first one. The 3 blast of fire mix together and become a big Fire Blast as Gary speaks.
"I've been training my Tyranitar to use multiple Fire Blast at once in case I was ever in a situation like this" Gary says while the crowd looks on it awe. Back in the stands Misty looks at Ash and speaks.
"Ash isn't this like how you've Pikachu/Raichu use multiple Thunders?" Misty asks as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, it is" Ash responds he continues to look at the battlefield as he's watching Gary turns around looking at Ash and smiles with Ash smiling too. Gary then looks forward and speaks.
"Now Go! Tyranitar!" Gary calls Tyranitar roars as its Fire Blast begins to push the Steel Beam back as Paul speaks.
"Duraludon destroy that Fire Blast!" Paul commands with Duraludon roaring it begins to pour more power into the Steel Beam but it's not enough as the Fire Blast continues to push the steel beam back and begins to burn it. A few seconds later the Fire Blast destroys the steel beam it heads for Duraludon as Paul speaks.
"Duraludon Dodge!" Paul calls but Duraludon's unable to dodge thanks to the paralysis, Duraludon looks forward as the Fire Blast connects. Duraludon cries out in pain by being consumed in the fire as there's an explosion causing the battlefield to shake and creating a big dust cloud. A few seconds later the dust disappears Gary's Tyranitar is panting heavily while Paul's Duraludon's laying on its back knocked out the ref then speaks.
"Duraludon's unable to battle Tyranitar's the winner!" The ref calls Gary smiles while Tyranitar roars in victory. The crowd cheers for them back in the stands Leaf speaks.
"Yeah! Great Job Gary!" Leaf cheers happily as Brock speaks.
"I wasn't expecting to see Gary's Tyranitar fire 2 more Fire Blast, but it makes sense as it allowed for the Fire Blast to mix together becoming stronger and destroy the Steel Beam" Brock says as Harrison speaks.
"Not only that but after Duraludon used Steel Beam it cut its health in half, Gary must've known that and knew this would be the best way to defeat Duraludon" Harrison says with the group nodding as AJ speaks.
"And now Paul has 2 Pokémon left while Gary still has 3" AJ says as Leaf speaks.
"Yeah! Gary can win this!" Leaf says happily. Misty then looks at Ash she sees that he has a serious look on his face and speaks.
"You okay Ash?" Misty asks as Ash looks at her and speaks.
"Yeah, I'm fine I'm happy that Gary's in the lead but I just know that Paul has something up his sleeve" Ash responds with Misty nodding. Back on the battlefield Paul looks at Duraludon then returns it to its Pokeball as he looks at Gary and speaks.
"That was an interesting strategy I wasn't expecting your Tyranitar to fire 2 more Fire Blast" Paul says as Gary speaks.
"Thanks, I learned it from a certain rival of mine" Gary responds Paul then looks in the stands and sees Ash. Paul then looks back at Gary and Tyranitar as Gary speaks.
"Now you've 2 Pokémon left victory is almost mine" Gary says while smiling as Paul speaks.
"While it's true that I've 2 Pokémon left you still won't beat me" Paul responds as Gary speaks.
"Oh really? You sound pretty confident in your last 2" Gary says as Paul speaks.
"Yes, I am and my next one will take down your Tyranitar" Paul says as he pulls out his next Pokeball Gary then speaks.
"Okay bring it out it doesn't matter what it is my Tyranitar will beat it" Gary responds in confidence with Tyranitar roaring in agreement. Paul smirks and speaks.
"You won't be smiling when you see it Garchomp stand by for battle!" Paul says he throws the ball high in the air as the ball opens releasing the mon. What appears is a shiny Garchomp it lands on the battlefield shaking it and lets out a mighty roar creating a shockwave that blows Tyranitar back a few feet. When Garchomp stops roaring it looks at Tyranitar with Tyranitar looking back. Gary has a shocked look on his face seeing the land shark as he speaks.
"No, it can't be that's Giovanni's Garchomp" Gary says in shock while looking at the mon. Back in the stands Ash, Misty, Brock and Leaf have shocked looks on their faces while looking at the Pokémon as Misty speaks.
"That's Giovanni's shiny Garchomp how did Paul get it?" Misty questions as Leaf speaks.
"It's probably similar to when I caught Krookodile" Leaf answers as Brock speaks.
"You're probably right" Brock says as Giselle speaks.
"Is that Garchomp strong?" Giselle asks as Ash speaks.
"Yes, it's very strong it's given my Pokémon and I a challenge every time we battled it. Now that it's under Paul's ownership I can feel that it's gotten even stronger" Ash responds with Giselle, Joe, Ritchie, AJ, Jackie and Harrison nodding. Meanwhile, in the building where Red, Blue, Goodshow, Oak, Delia and the Elite 4 are they also have surprised looks on their faces as Delia speaks.
"That Garchomp's the one that Giovanni had" Delia says as Rose speaks.
"Can Gary beat it?" Rose asks as Oak speaks.
"I hope he can" Oak responds with Rose nodding Red then looks over at Blue and sees that Blue has a concerned look on his face as Blue speaks.
"Gary don't be scared you can beat it" Blue says to himself. Back on the battlefield Gary has a shocked/scared look on his face looking at Garchomp as the memories of Giovanni start to fill in his head again making the boy scared. Gary takes one step backwards Paul notices and speaks.
"You're backing away? Don't tell me that you're that scared of my Garchomp" Paul says in a mocking tone Gary doesn't respond as he continues to shake in fear. Tyranitar looks at Gary he can see how scared he is Tyranitar then roars at Gary catching the boy's attention as Gary speaks.
"Tyranitar?" Gary says as Tyranitar continues to roar at Gary telling him not to be scared they've trained hard and have grown stronger than before and they'll take down Garchomp together. Gary then feels Blastoise and Dragapults Pokeball's wriggle agreeing with Tyranitar. Gary then calms himself down, he smiles and speaks.
"Thanks, Tyranitar I was letting my fear get the better of me" Gary says with Tyranitar nodding as it goes back to stare at Garchomp Paul then speaks.
"Oh, so you're not going to run away?" Paul asks in a mocking tone Gary looks at him and speaks.
"Well, I was at first because I had a bad experience with that Garchomps previous trainer but that's in the past we've grown a lot stronger than before and will take down that Garchomp along with your last Pokemon" Gary states having a smile on his face with Tyranitar roaring in agreement, Paul smirks and speaks.
"I doubt it get ready Garchomp" Paul says with Garchomp roaring it gets in a battle stance along with Tyranitar. The two trainers and Pokémon stare at each other in silence for a few seconds until the ref calls for the battle to continue as Gary makes the first move.
"Tyranitar use Ice Beam!" Gary calls Tyranitar quickly fires the icy beam it heads for Garchomp as Paul speaks.
"Garchomp destroy it with Metal Claw then use Dragon Rush!" Paul calls Garchamp covers its claws in steel energy and slashes at the icy beam easily destroying it. Garchomp covers its body in dragon energy and heads for Tyranitar as Gary speaks.
"Tyranitar use Dragon Dance then counter with Ice Punch!" Gary calls Tyranitar roars as dragon energy dances around it increasing its attack and speed. Tyranitar quickly covers its right fist in ice as it collides with Garchomp. The two mons begin trying to push each other back while creating a strong wind, Garchomp and Tyranitar roar as there's an explosion Tyranitar slides back a few feet while Garchomp's sent back in the air as Paul speaks.
"Garchomp Stone Edge!" Paul calls Garchomp roars, it quickly flies downward and slams its tail on the battlefield summoning large sharp stones they head for Tyranitar as Gary speaks.
"Tyranitar Hydro Pump!" Gary calls Tyranitar quickly fires the big stream of water it connects with the sharp stones but is then easily destroyed surprising Gary and Tyranitar. As the sharp stones are getting closer to Tyranitar Gary speaks.
"Tyranitar dodge!" Gary calls Tyranitar quickly moves to the right avoiding the Stone Edge. When it does Garchomp appears in front of Tyranitar as Gary speaks.
"Tyranitar Ice Beam!" "Garchomp Brick Break!" Both trainers call when Tyranitar goes to fire the icy beam Garchomp covers its left arm in white energy and backhands Tyranitars face making it fire the icy beam somewhere else and causing super effective damage. Tyranitar groans a little in pain it looks at Garchomp and sees that it has its mouth opened as Paul speaks.
"Now use Dragon Pulse!" "Tyranitar Hyper Beam!" Both trainers call Garchomp and Tyranitar roar as they fire their two beams at each other creating an explosion. The two mons back away from each other but stop themselves Garchomp's still ready to go while Tyranitar's panting heavily it groans in pain as Paul speaks.
"Now Dragon Rush!" Paul calls Garchomp roars it covers its body in dragon energy, it heads for Tyranitar as Gary speaks.
"Tyranitar use Dragon Dance and counter with Giga Impact!" Gary calls Tyranitar roars dragon energy dances around it increasing its attack/speed, it then covers its body in an orange sphere with purple streaks and shoots forward heading for Garchomp. The two mons then collide in the middle of the battlefield and begin pushing each other back fighting to see who's stronger. As they keep pushing each other Tyranitar begins to pant heavily, Paul and Garchomp notice as Paul speaks.
"Now Garchomp!" Paul calls Garchomp roars it destroys Tyranitars Giga Impact and hits the armor mons head making it fly back a few feet and land on its back as Gary speaks.
"Tyranitar!" Gary calls in concern when the smoke clears Tyranitar's lying on its back groaning in pain but manages to stand up and pant as Paul speaks.
"Finish it with Liquidation!" "Dodge Tyranitar!" Both trainers call Garchomp covers both of its arms in water becoming water blades. Garchomp quickly runs forward, Tyranitar sees Garchomp heading for it, it tries to dodge but can't as it's too exhausted and is also flinching. Garchomp then jumps forward it crosses its arms in an X shape then swings them outward slashing Tyranitar and appearing behind it. Garchomp doesn't turn around as Tyranitar falls laying on its stomach knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Tyranitar's unable to battle Garchomp's the winner!" The ref calls Garchomp roars in victory while Paul smirks. Gary has a shocked look on his face, back in the stands Ash along with everyone else are surprised that Tyranitar was defeated as Joe speaks.
"Whoa I know that Tyranitar was already tired from its battle with Duraludon but Garchomp defeated it easily" Joe says as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, that Garchomp's strong and it hasn't even gotten serious yet" Ash says with Misty, Leaf and Brock agreeing with him. Back on the battlefield Gary recomposes himself he looks at Tyranitar pulls out its Pokeball and speaks.
"Tyranitar return" Gary says returning the armor mon back to its Pokeball Gary tells Tyranitar thank you and puts the ball back on his belt. Gary looks forward looking at Paul and Garchomp who're waiting for Gary's next Pokémon, Gary grabs a Pokeball and speaks.
"Go! Dragapult!" Gary says he throws the ball forward as his Dragapult appears it floats in the air and looks at Garchomp with Garchomp looking at it. Back in the stands Jackie speaks.
"So now it's a battle between two dragons" Jackie says with the group nodding they continue to look at the battlefield the ref calls for the battle to continue as Gary speaks.
"Dragapult use Dragon Darts!" Gary calls Dragapult quickly fires two Dreepys from its horns they head for Garchomp as Paul speaks.
"Garchomp dodge then use Scale Shot!" Paul calls Garchomp jumps in the air avoiding the two Dreepys Garchomp then shoots out multiple black and white glowing scales from its body and hit Dragapult creating an explosion Dragapult falls on the battlefield as Gary speaks.
"Dragapult!" Gary calls in worry when the smoke clears Dragapult can still battle but is groaning in pain. Back in the stands Ash speaks.
"What was that move?" Ash asks as Brock speaks.
"Scale Shot is a move where if it lands it increases the users speed, but it also lowers the users defense" Brock responds with Ash nodding. Back on the battlefield Garchomp can feel its speed rise while its defense gets lowered it looks at Dragapult as Paul speaks.
"Now use Dragon Rush!" Paul calls Garchomp roars it covers its body in dragon energy and flies downward at a fast speed going to hit Dragapult as Gary speaks.
"Dragapult use Phantom Force to dodge!" Gary calls Dragapult quickly summons a portal and goes inside of it making Garchomp crash into the icy battlefield. Garchomp stands back up, it shakes its head and begins looking for Dragapult. Dragapults portal appears behind Garchomp the stealth Pokémon goes to hit it as Paul speaks.
"Use Dragon Claw!" Paul calls Garchomp quickly covers its right claw in green dragon energy spins around and slashes Dragapult across the face sending it away. Garchomp then flies after it as Gary speaks.
"Dragapult use Dragon Pulse!" "Garchomp use Dig!" Both trainers call Dragapult fires the big beam of dragon energy it goes to hit Garchomp but the land shark quickly dives into the ice avoiding the attack making the Dragon Pulse hit an ice boulder instead as Paul speaks.
"Now use Dragon Rush!" "Dodge Dragapult!" Both trainers call Garchomp appears from the ice it goes to hit Dragapult but the stealth Pokémon narrowly avoids it as Garchomp flies in the air Gary speaks.
"Now Dragon Darts!" Gary calls Dragapult quickly fires two Dreepys they go to hit Garchomp as Paul speaks.
"Garchomp use Scale Shot!" Paul calls Garchomp turns around and fires multiple black and white scales. The scales blow the two Dreepys away and begin hitting Dragapult causing super effective damage. Garchomp speed has increased more it heads for Dragapult as Paul speaks.
"Now use Dragon Rush!" "Dragapult dodge!" Both trainers call Dragapult can't dodge because the Scale Shot keeps hitting it, Garchomp continues flying towards Dragapult it roars covering its body in dragon energy and hits Dragapult. The two-mons crash on the battlefield creating an explosion as Gary yells.
"Dragapult!" Gary yells in concern, a couple seconds later Garchomp appears from the smoke, it flies in the air then lands on Paul's side of the battlefield. When the smoke clears everyone can see Gary's Dragapult laying on its back knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Dragapult's unable to battle Garchomp's the winner!" The ref calls Garchomp roars in victory while Paul isn't surprised. Gary grits his teeth while in the stands Joe speaks.
"Gary's Dragapult lost" Joe says as Ritchie speaks.
"And neither it nor Tyranitar were able to deal any damage to Garchomp" Ritchie says as AJ speaks.
"That Garchomp's too strong and you were able to beat it, Ash?" AJ asks Ash nods and speaks.
"Yeah, but if I battled Garchomp now I'm not sure if I could defeat it again" Ash responds with Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie nodding surprising his friends. Back on the battlefield Gary returns Dragapult to its Pokeball thanking it and putting it back on his belt. Gary then grabs his last Pokeball when he goes to throw it, he sees Paul return Garchomp and speaks.
"You're returning your Garchomp?" Gary asks as Paul speaks.
"Garchomp's battled enough for now and I believe this one's a better choice for your final Pokemon. Torterra stand by for battle!" Paul responds he throws the ball high in the air as his Torrtera appears. The continent Pokemon lands on the battlefield shaking it and lets out a mighty roar creating a shockwave that almost blows Gary away, but he stands strong. Torterra stops roaring as it's now waiting for its opponent, Gary looks at Torterra he can feel just how strong it is, he then looks at his last Pokeball as Paul speaks.
"Are you going to send in your final Pokémon or not? I don't have time to wait for you all day" Paul says Gary looks at him and speaks.
"Sorry about that I was just thinking" Gary responds as Paul speaks.
"Thinking?" Paul says as Gary smiles and speaks.
"Yeah, I was just thinking of the look on your face when I win GO! BLASTOISE!" Gary says he throws the ball high in the air as Blastoise appears. The turtle lands on the battlefield shaking it and lets out a mighty roar creating a shockwave/strong wind. Blastoise then stops roaring as it looks at Torterra. Both mons can feel how strong their opponent is then get into battle stances. Back in the stands Misty speaks.
"It's come to this Gary's Blastoise vs Paul's Torterra" Misty says Leaf puts her hands together and thinks to herself.
"Win Gary I believe in you" Leaf says to herself as Ash thinks.
"Come on Gary, I know you can do it" Ash says to himself he along with everyone else continue to look at the battlefield as Paul speaks.
"Your Blastoise looks strong but not only does my Torterra have the type advantage it's also stronger" Paul says as Gary speaks.
"I can definitely feel that your Torterra is strong and even though it has the type advantage I'm confident that Blastoise will still take it down" Gary says in confidence with Blastoise agreeing as Paul speaks.
"Hmph we'll see about that Torterra get ready" Paul says with Torterra nodding as Gary speaks.
"Let's do this Blastoise!" Gary says with Blastoise nodding. The two trainers and Pokémon stare at each other waiting for the battle to begin. A gentle wind breeze goes by as the ref speaks.
"Let the battle Continue!" The ref calls as Gary speaks.
"Blastoise use Ice Beam!" Gary calls Blastoise brings out its cannons and fires the icy beam. It travels down the battlefield going to hit Torterra as Paul speaks.
"Use Stone Edge!" Paul calls Torterra stomps its feet on the ground summoning the sharp stones they destroy the Ice Beam and head for Blastoise as Gary speaks.
"Blastoise use Gyro Ball!" Gary calls Blastoise goes in its shell, it covers its body in steel energy and shoots forward. Blastoise easily destroys the Stone Edge it's about to come into contact with Torterra as Gary speaks.
"Now use Skull Bash!" "Torterra take the hit!" Both trainers call Blastoise appears from its shell and points its head forward going to hit Torterra. Torterra ready's itself as Blastoises head connects with its head creating a shockwave. Blastoise tries its best to push Torterra back, but the continent Pokémon stands strong as Paul speaks.
"Torterra use Giga Drain!" "Blastoise back away!" Both trainers call the spikes on Torterra's back become green energy vines. They go to grab Blastoise but the blue turtle quickly backs away avoiding the attack, Blastoise then ready's its cannons as Gary speaks.
"Now use Ice Beam!" Gary calls before Paul can make a command Blastoise fires the icy beam and hits Torterra in the face causing super effective damage. Torterra's pushed back a couple feet, when the icy beam disappears Blastoise lands back on the battlefield it looks at Torterra with Torterra looking at it. Back in the stands Leaf speaks.
"Nice Blastoise landed the first hit!" Leaf says happily as Joe speaks.
"But look it seems like it didn't do much damage to Torterra" Joe says as Ritchie speaks.
"That's fine as long as Blastoise keeps its distance and continues to dodge Torterras attacks it should be able to win" Ritchie says with the others nodding. Back on the battlefield Gary came to the same conclusion as Ritchie he looks at Blastoise and speaks.
"Great job Blastoise lets keep going" Gary says with Blastoise nodding as Paul speaks.
"Torterra use Synthesis" Paul says as Torterra roars its body glows as it heals the damage it took from the Ice Beam. A few seconds later Torterra is fully healed as Gary speaks.
"Heh of course you'd have a move like that" Gary says as Paul speaks.
"Obviously" Paul responds as Gary speaks.
"Things have become a bit more challenging but I'm still confident on winning" Gary says as Paul speaks.
"In that case I want to show you something that'll change your mind" Paul says making Gary curious as Paul speaks.
"I was saving this for when I fought Red Ketchum but since you're the son of champion Blue I guess I can show you" Paul says as Gary speaks.
"Well enough with the suspense show me already" Gary responds Paul smirks and speaks.
"Okay well here it is Torterra use Frenzy Plant!" Paul calls Torterra lets out a mighty roar as out from the ice appears multiple large vines that appear around Torterra Gary then speaks.
"It knows Frenzy Plant?" Gary says while having a shocked look on his face. Back in the stands Ash speaks.
"What's Frenzy Plant?" Ash questions as Brock speaks.
"It's a strong grass type move where only grass type starters can learn it also like Blast Burn both the trainer and Pokémon need to have a strong bond with each other in order to use it" Brock responds with Ash and the others nodding as Misty speaks.
"So that means that Paul has a strong bond with his Torterra" Misty says with the others nodding as they continue to look at the battlefield. Gary and Blastoise look at the multiple vines as Gary speaks.
"So, this was the move you were talking about?" Gary asks as Paul speaks.
"Of course, I was hoping to surprise Red Ketchum with it, but I wanted to show it to you since you're champion Blue's son and I want to finish this battle" Paul responds with Gary nodding. Gary continues to look at the vines as Blastoise looks at Gary and speaks.
"Blast?" Blastoise says as Gary looks at the turtle.
"Don't worry Blastoise I'm fine I'll admit looking at this move is a little intimidating and we might lose but let's try our best" Gary says with the blue turtle nodding Blastoise looks forward and gets in a battle stance as Paul speaks.
"So, you're going to continue to fight?" Paul asks as Gary speaks.
"Yep, we may lose but we're not going down without a fight right Blastoise!" Gary responds with Blastoise roaring in agreement as Paul speaks.
"Hmph at least you know you're going to lose. Now Torterra go!" Paul calls Torterra roars it sends the vines at Blastoise as Gary calls for a command.
"Blastoise use Rapid Spin!" Gary calls Blastoise goes in its shell and begins to spin. Blastoise shoots forward it begins to dodge multiple vines that try to grab it. As Blastoise continues to spin forward it reaches Torterra as Gary speaks.
"Now use Ice Beam!" Gary calls Blastoise appears from its shell it points its cannons forward about to fire the Ice Beam as Paul speaks.
"Torterra" Paul says with Torterra nodding before Blastoise can fire its move suddenly a large vine appears from under Blastoise hitting it causing super effective damage and sending it high in the air as Paul speaks.
"Now grab it and slam it on the ground" "Blastoise dodge!" Both trainers call Torterra sends a vine at Blastoise. The blue turtle can't dodge in time as it's groaning in pain, the large vine wraps around Blastoise and starts to descend to the battlefield at a fast speed as Gary speaks.
"Blastoise break out of their with Rapid Spin!" Gary calls but Blastoise can't, the vine is holding onto Blastoise tightly as Paul speaks.
"End it" Paul says as the large vine slams Blastoise down hard on the ice battlefield causing it to shake cracking the ice and creating a dust cloud as Gary yells.
"BLASTOISE!" Gary yells in worry. Everyone looks at the battlefield Torterras Frenzy Plant goes away as when the dust clears everyone looks at Blastoise it's laying on its stomach knocked out as the ref speaks.
"Blastoise's unable to battle Torterra's the winner. Seeing as contestant Gary has no more Pokémon left this means that contestant Paul from Veilstone City is the winner and will move on to the next round!" The ref calls Paul and Torterra nod while everyone else have shocked looks on their faces. Gary looks at Blastoise he's surprised that he lost, Gary gets on his knees he clinches his right fist and punches the ground in defeat. Back in the stands Ash along with his friends are shocked at the result as Giselle speaks.
"I can't believe Gary lost" Giselle says as Joe speaks.
"Yeah, I was expecting him to make it to the finals" Joe says as AJ speaks.
"Me too but unfortunately Paul's Torterra was too strong" AJ says as Ritchie speaks.
"And even if Blastoise did somehow defeat Torterra it would've had to face Garchomp next and still lose as it would've been tired from its battle with Torterra" Ritchie says with the others nodding. Leaf has a sad look on her face and speaks.
"Oh Gary" Leaf says in a sad tone while Ash on the other hand is both shocked/angry that Gary lost. Back in Pallet Town in Oak's ranch Daisy, Mr. Mime Ash's Pokémon and Gary's Pokémon are shocked that Gary lost. Charizard is surprised that Blastoise lost but this gives it more motivation to battle and defeat Torterra if it gets the chance. Back in the stadium in the building where Red, Blue, Goodshow, Oak, Delia and the Elite 4 are they're also shocked that Gary lost as Rose speaks.
"I can't believe it Gary lost" Rose says as Oak speaks.
"Unfortunately, there was nothing more he could've done Paul's Pokémon were just too strong" Oak says with the adults nodding. Red looks over at Blue he sees him clinching his fist in both anger/sadness as Red speaks.
"Blue" Red says as Blue speaks.
"I'm fine Red I already knew that he was going to lose but I was still holding on hope that he would've won" Blue responds with Red nodding. Back on the battlefield Gary walks over to Blastoise when he makes it the water turtle looks at Gary and speaks.
"Blast" Blastoise says telling Gary sorry that it lost as Gary speaks.
"It's fine Blastoise you and everyone else did great in the end we just weren't strong enough" Gary says with Blastoise nodding. The two notice Paul and Torterra walking over to them when they're close enough Paul looks at Gary and speaks.
"You know with all the confidence you had I was expecting a lot more from the Kanto champions son talk about pathetic" Paul says making both Gary and Blastoise mad, but they know that Paul's right they look away from him as Paul speaks.
"Let's go Torterra" Paul says with Torterra nodding they both begin walking away. As they're walking Torterra looks back at Gary and Blastoise one more time before turning away and continues walking with its trainer. Gary helps Blastoise stand back up then returns it to its Pokeball he begins walking off the battlefield too as Ash speaks.
"Come on let's go" Ash says with Misty, Brock and Leaf nodding they say goodbye to Ritchie, Harrison, Joe, Giselle, Jackie and AJ and head out of the crowd. Meanwhile, in the building where Blue and the other adults he speaks.
"I'm going" Blue says as he runs out the door with Oak, Red, Delia and Rose following him leaving Goodshow along with the other Elite 4 members behind. 10 minutes later at the exit of Indigo Plateau we see Gary and next to him is a car with his cheerleaders who're crying that Gary lost. As Gary's about to get in the car he hears familiar voices.
"GARY!" The voices say catching Gary's attention he turns around and sees Ash, Leaf, Misty, Brock, Blue, Oak, Delia, Rose and Red all looking at him. Gary looks at them, he puts on a fake smile and speaks.
"Go ahead you can make fun of me if you want, I lost" Gary says in a joking tone before Leaf can say anything Blue walks over to Gary when he's close enough he puts a hand on Gary's shoulder. Gary looks at his father as Blue speaks.
"Gary it's okay to be sad you don't need to act tough all of the time" Blue says when he does Gary smiles tears start to well up in his eyes as he speaks.
"I tried to live up to your expectations, but I failed" Gary says as Blue then gives Gary a warm hug and speaks.
"Yeah, I know and even though you lost I'm still proud of you for making it so far" Blue says making Gary happy as he speaks.
"Thanks dad" Gary says as he hugs his father everyone looks at them hugging and smile. 1 minute later Gary and Blue let go of each other allowing for Ash and Leaf to walk over to the boy. When they're close enough Leaf speaks.
"Even though you lost you gave it your all out there Gary" Leaf says with Gary nodding he then looks over at Ash he sees that he has a sad look on his face as Gary speaks.
"Sorry Ash looks like we won't get our chance to battle each other" Gary says with Ash nodding as Gary continues to speak.
"Come on Ash don't be sad besides you should be happy that I lost since this means you don't have to worry about me kicking your butt" Gary says in a mocking tone making Ash mad as he speaks.
"What?! No way I would've kicked your butt instead!" Ash responds in anger as Gary speaks.
"Pfft Yeah right you wouldn't have even been able to beat my first Pokémon" Gary says as Ash speaks.
"Oh yeah well let's battle right now!" Ash says as Gary speaks.
"Sure" Gary responds the two boys take out their Pokeball's Leaf quickly gets in between them and speaks.
"Now, now settle down you two" Leaf says when she does the 3 kids look at each other then start to laugh making everyone else happy. When the 3 kids are done laughing Gary goes in the car as Ash speaks.
"You're not going to stay Gary?" Ash asks as Gary speaks.
"Nah I lost I've no reason to stay here" Gary responds as Leaf speaks.
"Where are you going to go?" Leaf asks as Gary speaks.
"I'm not sure yet but probably to a place where I can train my Pokémon to improve myself and I'll probably catch some new ones as well" Gary responds with Leaf nodding Gary then looks at Ash and speaks.
"Ash if you face Paul, I know you know this already but be careful as you saw in my battle, he was in control the entire time and has very strong Pokémon" Gary says with Ash nodding as Gary continues to speak.
"Also, now that you're the last trainer from Pallet Town still in the competition I wish you luck and hope that you win" Gary says while smiling as he points his fist forward. Ash looks at Gary he smiles and speaks.
"Right!" Ash responds as he points his fist forward too making the two boys fist bump. After that Gary looks at Prof. Oak and speaks.
"Hey grandpa I'll call you and Daisy when I need to switch out my Pokémon" Gary says with the old man nodding as Gary continues to speak.
"Well, it's time I get going see you all later!" Gary says as the driver drives forward exiting out of Indigo Plateau. Everyone waves him goodbye until they can't see him anymore and stop as Leaf speaks.
"And he's gone" Leaf says as Oak speaks.
"I've a feeling the next time we see Gary again he'll be a lot stronger" Oak says with everyone agreeing as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, but when he comes back, I'll show him not only my league trophy but also how strong we've gotten right Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie?!" Ash says with the 3-mons cheering.
30 minutes later the last battle of the day happened where a girl named Asunta defeated a boy named Rick. We're now back in the stadium where we see Ash, Paul, Harrison and Asunta, they're all looking a Mr. Goodshow as he speaks.
"First off I'd like to say congratulations on making it to the top 4" Goodshow says with the 4 trainers nodding as he continues to speak.
"Now then let's not waste any more time and see who you'll be battling tomorrow" Goodshow says as the 4 trainers look at the screen that has their pictures. The images begin to spin around starting the randomizing process. The 4 trainers wait in anticipation as a few seconds later the images stop spinning and showcase who their opponents are as Goodshow speaks.
"Now please look and see who your opponent for tomorrow will be" Goodshow says the 4 trainers look at the screen Harrison and Asunta notice that they'll be battling tomorrow and they're the first match the two teens look at each other as Asunta speaks.
"I hope you give me a good challenge tomorrow" Asunta says while having a confident look on her face as Harrison speaks.
"Don't worry I will" Harrison responds while also having a confident look on his face. Meanwhile Ash looks at the screen and sees that he'll be facing Paul tomorrow. The two boys look at each other having serious expressions on their faces as Goodshow speaks.
"Now that you know who your opponent is I hope you all get a good rest and give us amazing battles tomorrow as well" Goodshow says with the 4 trainers nodding as they along with the crowd leave heading for their rooms to sleep. 5 minutes later we come to the room where the gang is at Misty looks at Ash and speaks.
"I'm surprised that you'll be facing Paul tomorrow" Misty says as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, I'm surprised too but that's fine with me because I'm going to win!" Ash says with Pikachu, Riolu and Froakie cheering as Brock speaks.
"Do you know who your 6 Pokemon will be?" Brock asks as Ash speaks.
"Hmmm let's see for my first 3 I'm going to use Pikachu, Gyarados and Charizard as for my last 3" As Ash is thinking Riolu and Froakie speak.
"Rio, rio" "Fro, fro" The two mons say wanting to battle while doing air punches Ash looks at them and speaks.
"Sorry Riolu and Froakie I know you want to battle but you guys are still too young, and it would be better for me to use my more experienced Pokemon" Ash responds shocking the two-mons making them sad they put their heads down in disappointment while Pikachu, Sobble, Quaxly and Togepi pat their backs telling them they'll get a chance next time as Misty speaks.
"By "more experienced" do you mean your most experienced Pokemon?" Misty asks with Ash nodding as he speaks.
"Yep, with them I'm confident that I'll beat Paul and then win the league!" Ash responds while raising his fist in the air as the other Pokemon cheer too. Misty and Brock look at Ash cheering with the Pokemon and smile. After that they all go to bed looking forward to the next day.
It's now the next day it's time for the first battle of the day between Harrison and Asunta. Both trainers have taken their battle positions, they look at each other having smiles on their faces. The battlefield that they're battling on today is the water field with landing platforms, the ref already explained the rules it being a 6v6 battle with substitutions and the winner is decided when either side has defeated all of their opponents Pokemon in the stands Ash speaks.
"Man, this is exciting I can't wait to see Harrison battle" Ash says as Ritchie speaks.
"I know how you feel Ash it's been a while since I've seen Harrison battle, I'm excited to see just how strong he's gotten" Ritchie says with Ash nodding as Brock speaks.
"I've heard that his opponent Asunta is a really skilled trainer and just mostly defeated her opponents by only using 3 Pokemon" Brock says with the group nodding as Joe speaks.
"Whoa so she's that strong huh? I wonder how Harrison will do" Joe wonders as Giselle speaks.
"I'm sure he'll do great" Giselle says as Leaf speaks.
"Yeah, let's cheer for him" Leaf suggests with Giselle and Joe nodding as they along with Ritchie begin to cheer for Harrison. Back on the battlefield Asunta looks at the crowd then looks at Harrison and speaks.
"Sounds like your friends really believe that you can win they'll be sad when I beat you" Asunta says while having a confident look on her face and holding a Pokeball as Harrison speaks.
"Sorry but the one who's getting beaten is you" Harrison responds while also holding a Pokeball and having a confident look on his face as the ref speaks.
"Now will both trainers please bring out your first Pokemon!" The ref says Harrison and Asunta nod they throw their Pokeball's forward and speak.
"Go!" The two trainers say Asunta sends out a Fearow while Harrison sends out a Gengar. The two mons look at each other and get into battle stances. In the stands Jackie speaks.
"So, it's a battle between Gengar and Fearow" Jackie says as AJ speaks.
"This should be good" AJ says with the others nodding. Somewhere in the crowd we see Paul, he's also watching the battle. Back on the battlefield the ref speaks.
"Now that both trainers have sent out their first Pokemon you may now begin!" The ref calls both Harrison and Asunta quickly call their commands.
"Gengar use Ice Beam!" "Fearow use Tri Attack!" Both trainers call the two-mons fire their moves they meet in the middle of the battlefield and collide creating an explosion as the chapter ends.

Now I know that not a lot of people aren't going to be happy that I'm skipping another battle but like what I did with Gary's battle against Melissa I'll give a description on how the battle went. Another reason as to why I'm doing this is that I want Ash and Paul's battle to be 2 chapters instead of one long chapter as I feel it'll help with the pacing.
