Chapter 39: Movie Night

Wednesday Night...

"We're finally here." said Kappei.

"Malishido Megamall for our movie night!" said Emma as they looked around. The mall is more crowded than before ever since summer vacation began. They can see many from their school hanging out at various creature comforts like the karaoke, bowling and billiards centre, the cybercafe, the Ninja Rink which has the roller skating activity now and yes, the movie theatre and this is where they're heading to.

They soon arrived as, "Let's see...what movie do you want to watch?" Kappei asked Emma. She looked at the movie posters. "Hmmm...Kung Fu Panda 4?"

"Good choice! Let's watch it!" Kappei agreed with her as they queue at the line. There are some people in front of them so they waited until they're next. During the wait, "So what did you do during the day?" Emma asked.

"Gumchi and I went to the gym to do some workouts with Harry and Bull."

"Wait, Gumchi can workout?" She asked and blinked once.

"No. He's here to help us with the numbers." Kappei explained. "He counts, we workout. After that, we had lunch at the cafeteria and rested in our respective dorms."

"Interestingly, the cafeteria remains open even during summer vacation." Emma stated.

"For some of the stalls only." He replied. "What about you?"

"I started my first Nintube video which is a dancing tutorial video and released it. And I got some likes, comments and subscribers." Emma exclaimed. "In the afternoon, I went to the school swimming pool to swim some laps."

"Huh...if I had known about it, I would have snuck there and see her change into her swimsuit..." Kappei thought and smiled big and gleeful. "And I would enjoy watching her swim gracefully. Man, what will it be like if she sheds off her swimsuit and swims in the buff..."

"Are you thinking of something?" A suspicious Emma asked and he was like, "Uh...nothing! Nothing at all!" She stared at him with her hands on her hips when they realized it's their turn.

"Let me do the payment for this one." Emma ordered 2 movie tickets to the movie and some popcorn and soda. She got herself a medium caramel popcorn with apple soda and for Kappei, she got him a large, buttered popcorn with a large coke.

"You know me well, beautiful." Kappei complimented her as they went inside the theatre hall after showing the usher their tickets. Inside, they found their seats and it's a good view. While waiting, "I remember one time, us girls watched a horror movie under Vega's suggestion."

"What happened then?"

"We all got frightened except for her." She told him.

"Ouch...why am I not surprised?" He asked.

"Well...there's too many ghosts popping out and we screamed except her. I even hid my face under her pillow." She replied.

"Is the movie rated?" Kappei asked.

"Now that you mentioned it, it is. Restricted 21." Emma replied as she sipped her soda.

"No wonder it's traumatizing. Davis told me once that Vega watched some many horror movies that no matter the rating, she's unaffected by the gruesome horror." Kappei told her and he started eating his popcorn when he thought of something. "You know, watching this kung-fu reminded me of someone."

"Who?"

"Hongfa."

"Oh yeah! Hongfa's a big fan of the kung-fun movies! The Kung-Fu Panda films are her favourite! I do remember watching the first 3 films with her and the others girls in the academy back then." Emma remembered as she ate some of her caramel popcorn. "I wonder how she's doing?"

"I hope she's doing well. And hopefully, we'll see her again." said Kappei as he sipped his coke and then, the advertisements are being played for 10 minutes and finally, the movie begins.

Throughout the movie, Kappei and Emma laughed at the funny scenes and get excited at the action and the moves used in the fighting scenes. They're also moved by some caring moments.

After the movie...

"Wow! All those action moves are cool!" Kappei described as he and Emma exited the cinema right after they threw their empty popcorn boxes and cups in the trash.

"Indeed. Once we begin our second year, we'll be learning those moves who knows?" She replied.

"Not to mention the humour emphasized in it. It was hilarious." He added.

"I know right?" She agreed with him as they went to get some dessert. They went to an ice cream place called, "The Deep Freeze." and yes, they already had their dinner before the movie.

"When it comes to ice cream, it's one of the favourite things we have in common." said Kappei.

"You know it." Emma replied and they went inside. It isn't so crowded like around, 6 people just chilling inside with their cold treats. Emma got in line and did the ordering while Kappei got a table and got 2 plastic cups of water for they are free and refillable. A few minutes later, "Guess what I ordered?" Emma asked him as she sat down.

"What did you order?" He asked and she gestured to the right. And then, an employee presented to them a rectangular bowl with 8 ice cream scoops in it. The flavours in the dessert are chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, mango, coffee, cookies n cream, peanut butter and mint chocolate chip.

"Ta-Daa! The 8-Scoop Bonanza!" Emma revealed to her boyfriend as he grabbed a spoon. "Oh man! Ice cream with my girlfriend is the best!"

"Then let's dig in!" She told him as she grabbed a spoon and the lovely couple bonded together as they spent the rest of their date night eating ice cream and chatting about more random stuff with each other.

You know something about movies? Well for starters, I have a job in a cinema outlet and there, I often gather story ideas by checking out the movie posters. It's one of my sources in ideations. This is also why there were a few cases that I took some time to write out my chapters and usually, it depends on my job and I can feel exhausted from it to the point that I just wanna sleep for hours. Ha, Ha, I really could use one right now.

Now for the next date, it's gonna be formal and...steamy for the later part. Heh. Heh. Heh.

Character of the Chapter

Name: Hank

Profile

Born in Argentina, Hank had a weak heart when he was young and he pukes too much when he pushes himself to the limit in some outdoor activities like football. However, this never hindered him from doing what he likes as he does his best to prove his capability.

In the shinobi training, he has no heart issues and he's being cared well so that his condition won't hinder him. But that is about to change when his power awakened and he ruptured a wall. Even so, his heart even felt strength slipping in and this convinced his parents that he's ready.

Hank went to the WNA Academy in his country and he doesn't puke a lot during the intense training. Good thing he's given a breather in case he's about to feel his heart thump too much.

After 3 years, he attended the high school in USK and there, he's friends with Cruz and Kurt and they're all members of the football club. At least Hank can play well now as long as he examines his heart and limits in what he does.

Awakened Power: Rupture

Hank's awakened power enables him to touch something and blow it up like as if he set off the detonation. He can touch objects and when he does, they glow and blow up causing AOE and knockback damage to anyone near it. Some even scatter their fragmented pieces daling extra damage. The ruptures have a delayed timing of 5 second and boom, the power comes in play.

It seems demolition experts would be glad to have him use his powers to do some real, heavy clearing.
