Personally I like to think the biggest speed bump Molly has in getting Ash and Casey to smooch is her own interfering. How are you supposed to express your feelings when your cousin/best friend is on the side lines cheering you on lol
"So Ash, what is your plan for fighting Clair today?" Molly asked.
"I told you, I had some training with some experts in town, and got some extra help." Ash said, holding up two Pokeballs.
"That still leaves the question, who will you be using?" Casey asked.
"That would be spoiling the surprises." Ash said. "Don't worry, I grabbed some of my strongest reserves back in Pallet Town, if they can't win no one in Pallet or on my team can."
"It's good to see you back Ash." Clair said, as the trio entered the arena.
"Good to be back, I'm guessing the same rules as last time?" Ash asked.
"As long as you're still up for fighting a four on four match for your final gym badge." Clair said.
"Sounds good to me. I'm ready to start whenever you are." Ash said, as Casey and Molly went to the stands.
"Very well then, come out Gyarados!" Clair called out.
"Knew you'd start with them again. Now let's do this quick Pikachu!" Ash said.
"I hope Ash has a really good new plan, as Pikachu didn't stand up that well against Gyarados last time." Molly remembered.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash called out.
Pikachu leapt into the air, sending out a bolt of electricity immediately at the water type.
"Wait, when did Pikachu relearn Thunderbolt?" Casey asked. "What if, that future?"
"It's still not, remember he never learned Zap Cannon." Molly reminded.
"To answer your question, there's a master out here, who has a unique ability. One that allows him to teach any move that a Pokemon previously knew." Ash said.
"Gyarados use Twister!" Clair called out.
Gyarados recovered, sending a series of twisters out at Pikachu, knocking water into him.
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!" Ash called out.
"Gyarados use Hyper Beam!" Clair commanded.
A blast of light shot out at Pikachu, destroying the platform he was on, sending Pikachu tumbling into the air.
"Right on cue. Pikachu use Zap Cannon!" Ash called out.
"That's brilliant, with Gyarados recharging, Pikachu has a clean shot with Zap Cannon." Molly realized.
"Now follow it up with Thunder Punch!"
"Gyarados use Bite!"
Pikachu leapt at Gyarados, slamming his charged fist into Gyarados's head as the atrocious Pokemon bit down on his tail.
"Gyarados is unable to battle, the winner is Pikachu." The gym system declared.
"Well he won, but Pikachu is hardly in fighting condition still." Casey noticed, seeing Pikachu was exhausted as he climbed back onto dry land.
"Pikachu take a break, we'll pass it onto someone else for this." Ash said, helping Pikachu back up.
"Pi." Pikachu said in acknowledgement.
"Dragonair come out!" Clair called out, sending out the serpentine dragon.
"Now, Snorlax I choose you!"
"Dragonair don't let up, use Slam!" Clair called out.
The Dragonair rushed forward, bouncing off of Snorlax as it tumbled back.
"Snorlax use Hyper Beam!"
"Dragonair use Surf!"
Dragonair slammed their tail into the pool, unleashing a wave of water at Snorlax whose beam of light pierced through the wave, striking Dragonair as Snorlax took the brunt of the hit.
"Dragonair use Slam!"
Dragonair flew forward once again, striking Snorlax and bouncing off of it as Snorlax stumbled back a step.
"Snorlax use Mega Kick!"
"Dragonair use Thunderbolt!"
Snorlax leapt at Dragonair with incredible agility for his size, slamming his foot into the serpentine Pokemon and knocking it back while once again taking the brunt of Dragonair's attack.
"Snorlax use Ice Punch!"
"Dragonair use Dragon Breath!"
Snorlax rushed forward, leaping at Dragonair and striking it with a freezing punch as he was partially engulfed in flames, knocking out the dragon type.
"Dragonair is unable to battle, the winner is Snorlax." The gym system declared.
"Way to go Ash!" Casey cheered as Ash was in a winning position now.
"Dragonair return." Clair called out. "You're doing far better now than you were the other day, however that will change nothing. Kingdra come out!"
"Snorlax use Body Slam!"
Snorlax leapt up, slamming into the water with a belly flop as Kingdra easily swam out of the way.
"Kingdra use Twister!" Clair called out.
Kingdra swam circles around Snorlax as he was tossed into the air.
"That, is a powerful twister." Molly said in surprise.
"Kingdra use Hyper Beam!"
"Snorlax use Body Slam!"
Snorlax rolled up, dropping back to the ground with incredible force as he was engulfed in Kingdra's beam attack, a tidal wave crashing over the arena. As the water fell back down, Snorlax was found defeated on the ground, with the pool heavily drained, with Kingdra no longer able to fully hide beneath the waves.
"Snorlax is unable to battle, the winner is Kingdra." The gym system declared.
"Snorlax definitely left his mark, now Kingdra doesn't have nearly as much space to run!" Casey cheered.
"Snorlax you did great! Feraligatr it's your turn!" Ash called out.
Feraligatr entered the field with a loud roar.
"Kingdra use Hydro Pump!"
"Feraligatr use Hydro Pump!"
Kingdra and Feraligatr both sent out streams of water at each other, crashing the splashes of water against each other.
"Feraligatr use Thrash!"
"Kingdra get out of there!"
Without the water to hide behind, Kingdra wasn't nearly quick enough as Feraligatr struck them repeatedly.
"Kingdra use Dragon Breath!"
Kingdra spun around, sending out blue flames that struck Feraligatr causing it to wince in pain.
"Now while he's recovering use Hyper Beam!"
"Feraligatr use Crunch!"
Feraligatr bit down on Kingdra's snout as it inflated once more.
"Are you sure this is a good idea, do you have anything strong enough to stop my final Pokemon?" Clair asked.
"Feraligatr now! Celebrate!" Ash called out.
"Ali! Ali! Ali! Gatr!" Feraligatr cheered skipping around the water.
"What's his plan?" Molly asked.
"Kingdra fire!" Clair called out.
Kingdra fired their beam of light at Feraligatr, only for the water type to flip over it with ease.
"Feraligatr use Crunch!"
As Kingdra was recovering, Feraligatr was able to rush in, striking down Kingdra as it stayed floating sideways on the surface of the water.
"Kingdra is unable to battle, the winner is Feraligatr." The gym system declared.
"Keep a level head Ash, you aren't done yet!" Molly exclaimed, seeing both Feraligatr and Pikachu were exhausted.
"Don't worry all I need is one move." Ash said, waiting for Clair's next Pokemon.
"Let's see how true that is. Kingdra return, it's time for the king of dragons! Dragonite let's go!" Clair called out.
"Dragonite use Wing Attack!"
"Feraligatr use Hydro Pump!"
Feraligatr sent out a blast of water, pushing against Dragonite to no avail as the dragon rushed straight through, striking Feraligatr and tossing him into the air.
"Dragonite use Outrage!"
Dragonite flew after Feraligatr, striking him multiple times, before sending him crashing back down.
"Feraligatr get up and use Ice Punch!" Ash called out.
"Dragonite use Thunder!"
Dragonite recovered from their outrage, striking Feraligatr with a massive blast of electricity.
"Feraligatr is unable to battle, the winner is Dragonite." The gym system declared.
"Come on Ash, you said you needed one move, now's the time to use it." Casey said worriedly.
"Feraligatr you were great!" Ash said, recalling his water type. "Now come out Wobbuffet!"
"His plan, is Wobbuffet?" Casey asked, remembering how powerful but fragile the psychic type was.
"Dragonite us Hyper Beam!"
"Wobbuffet use Mirror Coat!" Ash exclaimed.
The beam of light struck Wobbuffet, as it engulfed him, a barrier appearing around the psychic type before it bounced right back at Dragonite, engulfing the dragon. As the light finally cleared, Wobbuffet was down and Dragonite was just fine, having flown out of the way of the counterattack.
"Wobbuffet is unable to battle, the winner is Dragonite." The gym system declared.
"How is Ash supposed to even stand up to something like that? The only Pokemon that could move like that is, well I don't know what, but that thing is too powerful!" Casey argued.
"It's why they're so rare to see used by trainers, but when they are, those trainers are tough to beat." Molly pointed out.
"Wobbuffet return." Ash said. "Pikachu I'm counting on you, do your best."
"Pi." Pikachu said, having recovered a bit from his previous battle against Clair's Gyarados.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"Dragonite use Thunder!"
Even against the stronger electric attack, Pikachu's Thunderbolt was able to hold off Dragonite's Thunder.
"Th-they're evenly matched!" Casey exclaimed. "That's incredible."
"Dragonite use Wing Attack!"
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!" Ash called out.
Pikachu ran away from Dragonite as the pseudo legendary flew close to the ground after him.
"Pikachu use Thunder Punch!"
"Dragonite use Outrage!"
Pikachu leapt into the air, striking Dragonite's head, before being struck away by Drafonite's claw.
"Pikachu use Zap Cannon!"
"Dragonite use Hyper Beam!"
Pikachu sent out a blast of electricity as it was matched by Dragonite's Hyper Beam, engulfing the electricity and the electrical attack.
"Pikachu is unable to battle, the winner is Dragonite." The gym system declared.
"So close." Molly said in shock.
"But if Ash wants to win, he needs to find a Pokemon that can match a Dragonite hit for hit." Casey said worriedly.
