My partner helped me develop this, this next arc that sets up the entire rest of this story. My best Mika story yet.
So caught in her sorrow, a sorrow only her clan could comprehend, Hinata did not expect Mika to greet her at their training ground by slashing at her with brutal efficiency, cutting her arm before punching her hard enough to send her meters back. "Ow... that hurt." She muttered before throwing herself to the side, dodging his next strikes. Hurrying to her feet, she moved like Hana taught her, with harsh strikes aimed toward his joints. Mika's evasive skills were far, far too great to be hit, but she did manage two glancing blows. It took all she was to avoid the harsh power of her friend, but somehow she managed to for a solid forty or so minutes.
Mika stopped then, smiling at her. "Excellent, you've made serious improvement since our last meeting almost three weeks ago! Seriously, I just.."
And Hinata burst into tears, her memory of the recent tragedy overtaking her. Throwing herself into his arms, she just let it all out as he petted her hair. After a while, she whispered her pain to him. "They put the seal on a four year old boy today, he barely survived... Mika, we cannot wait to master sealing, it must change now."
Mika nodded, eyes darkening. "I...Hinata, to do that we would be breaking so many laws. We would never be allowed to live... but if we ran, there is a place to run to." His voice was distant, a million miles away.
Her eyes brightened. "Where?"
"Mist, they are in a Civil War, between Bloodline users and those without. We could join the rebels. That would also allow us a chance to make a difference, gain power and skill and experience. We wouldn't even need to stay there, just use it as a springboard. You are easily a low B rank kunoichi if only in taijutsu... and I am now in the Bingbook as a high ranking medic, people would kill to have my aid. We would be welcome in Mist and no one would question in really... they will crave the help."
She frowned. "We need to do this, sooner than later. I cannot allow this continue, the abuses of my clan."
Mika frowned as well. "The Chunin exams, it's in a few weeks. We can both use that, the hustle and bustle it creates to undo the seal. There has to be a method for it somewhere. Still, this is a huge risk... We are going to have to train harder than ever, ensure we can survive this."
"We will have to perform an Itachi, if only on the Main Branch." She shivered. "I can still hear my Uncle's screams as my father used the Seal. Neji's screams... I cannot... it has to stop."
Mika held her close. "Than that is what we will do... from this point on, that is our goal. There is a month off between the second and third exam, no one will question training harder or isolating. We can use that time to become best we can. My new mentor, I have a new mentor by the way, Yugao? She was ANBU. I can ask her for lessons in infiltration, to prepare me for ANBU I'll say... and soon... soon we will undo the evils of your clan." Mika kissed her cheek. "If something happens, we will meet at the Land of Eddies, where Naruto's ancestors hailed. No one would suspect that... now... get up and let's become as powerful as we are able."
And so they trained once more, harder than ever, brutal and pained, as their hearts burned with a fire brighter than any they had ever felt before...
"""
Mika led Hinata back to her compound, eyes sharp but stance passive. They could not be compromised at this point, so early into their new plan. 'I cannot believe I agreed to this but in truth I was never loyal... no, I must do this. For Hinata, but also for myself. I cannot stand injustice and this is one giant injustice. It will also help me with my own goals... I will make this my path, and no one will stop me.'
As he walked, Mika took in the compound, knowing from Hinata it was larger and deeper than most knew. It had underground tunnels, several entrances and hidden training grounds. Hinata knew exactly how to get in and out without being caught, as the previous Heiress she had special training so few could match. She would use it, alongside him, to undo the evils of her kin.
Eventually they found their way to the final part he was allowed into. Hiashi was there, drinking tea served by one his slaves. " See you soon, Hinata, keep on training. You've made incredible progress." Mika masked, albeit barely, the hate he felt toward Hiashi. Hinata had, finally, unleashed just how often that Cursed Seal was used, and for what dark purposes many abused it for. Any previous liking he had for Hiashi had vanished entirely. Hate fully in it's place. "You should be proud, she is an incredible kunochi...I cannot wait to see where she goes as time moves on."
Hiashi nodded. "I feel much the same."
And as Mika left, he caught look at Hinata's eyes, seeing a soul deep loathing that sent rattled his soul and he knew... they would succeed or die. There was no other path for them...
Life or Death, literally so...
And to that, he would train until it came.
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a joy to write.
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
