Chapter 1: A Miraculous New World
We lived in a world that was pretty normal, where people lived their everyday lives without monsters or crazy, power-hungry bad guys. But that all changed when Oni showed up. He was a real-live devil, turning everyone into demons with his power called Sin, just to make himself stronger. All was lost until two heroes showed up and defeated Oni. They sealed him away into a ring and buried it deep underground so no one could ever find him and let him out.
Then, the two heroes did the same thing to their powers as well, containing them into pieces of jewelry. The creatures were called Animorphs; the black Dragon's name was Shade, and he had the power of shadows. He was sealed into a bangle. The silver wolf Animorphs named was Cloud. He had the power of the moon, and he could release a powerful howl. He was sealed away in a necklace. But Evil Walked the Earth again, and new heroes emerged, their names are Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf, the new holders of the Animorphs.
In Emporium City, a monster was hopping around the rooftops, trying to get away from two figures. The monster looked like a kangaroo; it had short hair, powerful hind legs, small forelimbs, big feet, and a long tail. The kangaroo yelled, "You'll never catch me alive!" Then, a voice yelled, "Shadow Wrap!" and we saw black tendrils wrap around the kangaroo's legs, sending him tumbling to the ground with the bags of money out of his arms. He looked behind him and saw the figure that sent the tendrils. He was in a black and white Dragon suit; white eyes were hidden by a dragon helmet, ears appeared where his original ears were, and a dragon tail protruded from his back with a shield attached. The other figure was in a silver and gray wolf suit, golden eyes hidden by a mask, wolf ears appearing where his original ears were, and a wolf tail coming out. These were Emporium City heroes Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf.
Silver Wolf smiles and says, "Come on, Shadow, let's wrap this up. I'm going to be late for my date, and you know how Emily gets." Shadow Knight just rolls his eyes and replies, "Yeah, yeah, I get it, Ollie." He then takes off his shield, throws it up in the air, and yells out, "Spectacular Shadow Knights!" A giant image of a dragon appears and fixes all the damages. Then, they both say, "Pound it!" as they fist bump each other.
In an unknown location, a young man in his early twenties dressed in a stylish black suit with a brown jacket, paired with light brown pants. His shoes matched his attire, featuring a striking combination of red and black. With black hair, bright black eyes, and a black and red bow tie, he exuded a sense of sophistication. His name was Thomas, and he sported a red and black ring on his finger, the only symbol adorning it.
Thomas yelled in anger, "Again, these children beat me! How? How?" But then, a small red devil, no larger than his hand, appeared. The devil, named Oni, had a smug look on his face as he said, "I told you a long time ago to stop using my power to make devils and defeat the kids. So, if you've got more than enough power..." Thomas smiled at that and said, "You're right." Lifting up his ring, he yelled out, "Oni Hell Flame!" As the devil went inside the ring, it transformed him into Inferno. Clad in menacing black, red, and dark green armor, with a fearsome oni mask and a colossal ax in hand, he had an evil smile underneath his mask as he declared, "Time to finally get our revenge."
On the rooftop, Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf were preparing to leave when suddenly a ball of red energy flew towards them. Reacting quickly, Shadow Knight raised his shield to block it while Silver Wolf drew his sword, ready to defend. They heard a sinister laugh and looked up to see Inferno standing before them, crackling with red lightning as he prepared to strike. Dodging out of the way, Shadow Knight rolled to one side, while Silver Wolf rolled to the other, both weapons at the ready. As they regained their footing, they exchanged a knowing look, realizing they needed to escape the situation.
Inferno lunged towards Silver Wolf, swinging his axe, but Silver Wolf deflected the blow with his sword. Struggling against the force of Inferno's attack, Silver Wolf gritted his teeth, feeling the weight of the confrontation. Meanwhile, Shadow Knight seized the opportunity and delivered a swift blow to Inferno's head, causing him to stagger dangerously close to the edge of the rooftop. With a determined expression, Shadow Knight warned Inferno to back off, his voice laced with authority.
As the three adversaries clashed, exchanging powerful strikes and blocks, a sudden surge of energy erupted, sending them all tumbling in different directions. Catching their breath, Silver Wolf voiced their urgent need to retreat, a hint of concern in his tone. Shadow Knight agreed, acknowledging the necessity of their departure.
Just as Inferno prepared to launch another assault, Shadow Knight intervened, unleashing his Shadowgate ability to create a portal. The portal shimmered with a blue light, absorbing Inferno's attack and transforming it into a swirling vortex. In a surprising turn of events, the portal began to draw Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf in, sealing shut behind them as they vanished into its depths. Left behind, Inferno couldn't help but laugh triumphantly, convinced of his victory.
In the sky, a portal opened up, and Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf found themselves screaming as they landed on a rooftop.
"Oof! That hurt like hell," groaned Shadow Knight, rubbing his sore muscles.
"Speak for yourself, I landed on my tail," Silver Wolf said, wincing as he got up from the floor.
Before they could gather their bearings, a figure in a black leather suit with cat ears, a bell around his neck, a black mask, a tail, and claws jumped towards them from the next roof.
"Looks like we have some newcomers," Shadow Knight muttered as the cat guy helped him up.
"I guess you two must be new here, right?" the cat guy said, introducing himself as Cat Noir and extending a hand in greeting.
"I'm Shadow Knight," he replied, accepting the handshake.
"And I'm Silver Wolf," Silver Wolf added, flashing a smile.
"Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf, huh? I like it," Cat Noir remarked as pigeons began flying in large groups resembling airplanes.
"What the?" Shadow Knight exclaimed, taken aback by the unexpected sight.
"And I thought our day couldn't get any worse," Silver Wolf grumbled, annoyance evident in his voice.
"It just gets weirder and weirder," Shadow Knight agreed, scanning the scene.
Suddenly, they noticed a girl in a red suit with black polka dots, black hair tied back in pigtails, a red mask, and a yoyo strapped to her hip.
"Birds of a feather flock together," Cat Noir quipped before letting out a sneeze. "Sorry, I'm allergic to feathers."
"That's helpful," the girl said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
"Tell me about it," Silver Wolf muttered, already feeling exasperated.
"Really, is this going to be all day?" Shadow Knight sighed, feeling overwhelmed.
"Uh, who are you two?" the girl asked, addressing Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf.
"Oh, Ladybug, meet Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf. They're here to help us," Cat Noir explained.
"Help us? Thank you, guys, but we don't need help. We've handled things like this before," Ladybug said confidently.
As the TV monitor showed a video playing, an urgent news report interrupted the program.
"We interrupt this program for a breaking news story: Pigeons have taken over Paris. This is a matter of major concern for authorities. I've just been told that someone named Mr. Pigeon is making an announcement," the announcer's voice echoed through the room as the screen displayed a man in a pigeon suit standing atop the Eiffel Tower.
"Oh, what a dreary day for Parisians. Sorry to ruffle your feathers, but Paris belongs to the Pigeons!" the man in the pigeon suit declared, making cooing sounds.
Once the TV monitor went off, Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf burst out laughing at the absurdity of the situation.
As Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf continued to laugh, Ladybug and Cat Noir exchanged puzzled glances.
"Um, guys, I don't think this is a laughing matter," Ladybug remarked, her brow furrowing with concern.
"Yeah, I mean, Paris being overrun by pigeons doesn't sound like a joke," Cat Noir added, scratching his head in confusion.
Shadow Knight wiped a tear from his eye, still chuckling. "Sorry, sorry, it's just... the idea of pigeons taking over the city is kind of ridiculous, don't you think?"
Silver Wolf nodded in agreement, trying to stifle his laughter. "Yeah, I mean, how are pigeons even capable of doing something like this?"
Ladybug sighed, shaking her head. "Well, ridiculous or not, it's still a problem that needs to be dealt with. We can't just ignore it."
Cat Noir nodded solemnly. "She's right. We need to figure out a way to stop Mr. Pigeon and get Paris back to normal."
Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf exchanged a glance, the humor fading from their expressions as they realized the seriousness of the situation.
"You're right," Shadow Knight said, his tone more serious now. "Let's put an end to this pigeon problem once and for all."
With determined nods from the entire group, they set off to confront Mr. Pigeon and restore peace to Paris.
In the park, Silver Wolf had a police cap on his head.
"Uh, why am I the one who has to do this?" he asked.
"Hey, you're the new guy, so you have to do the things we don't want to do," Cat Noir chuckled.
"Plus, you lost a game of rock-paper-scissors," Shadow Knight added with a hint of amusement in his voice.
"Wow, thanks, guys. You're the best," Silver Wolf sighed.
"Just try and act natural," Ladybug said as the three of them hid behind some trees.
As Silver Wolf walked around the park, none of them noticed a pigeon watching them.
About an hour later, Silver Wolf was still on fake patrol.
"Nothing's happening. Maybe if I had dressed up, he would've come."
"Maybe you should have," Shadow Knight said, groaning as he took off a branch from the tree.
"He should be here by now. Where is he?" Ladybug asked when Cat Noir let out a sneeze.
"Uh, guys, I think he's here!" Silver Wolf said as a large flock of pigeons gathered together.
"What the?!" Ladybug said as the pigeons surrounded Silver Wolf and carried him off.
"Come on, hurry!" Cat Noir said as he, Ladybug, and Shadow Knight followed the birds to the roof of a hotel.
"Oh man, that's a lot of birds," Silver Wolf said, eyeing the flock nervously.
"Where's that birdbrain Mr. Pigeon?" Cat Noir asked, scanning the area.
"Come out, pigeon, pigeon, pigeon," Shadow Knight said, trying to coax him out.
"I don't know, but he has to be around here somewhere. And Shadow Knight, knock it off," Ladybug said sternly as they approached Silver Wolf.
Above them, Mr. Pigeon looked down on them, receiving instructions from Hawk Moth.
"Two new Miraculous holders? This is very interesting. If you want to give Paris back to the pigeons for good, you must now rid the city of those pests," Hawk Moth instructed as Mr. Pigeon tightened his grip on his whistle.
Hearing the commands, the pigeons swarmed around the four heroes, trapping them.
"I feel a lot like birdseed right now," Ladybug remarked.
"Got any ideas?" Cat Noir asked, looking around.
"You're the cat, don't you eat these things?" Ladybug quipped.
"Will you two please shut up? I'm trying to think right now," Shadow Knight snapped.
"Yes, please, the two of you, knock it off!" Silver Wolf added, frustrated.
Before they could react, the pigeons brought down a cage, trapping them inside.
"What the?!" Ladybug exclaimed, shocked to see they were trapped.
"This is just great. Now we're trapped," Shadow Knight said, annoyed.
They looked up to see Mr. Pigeon floating down on more of his pigeons.
"Chirpy day! I'm so ruthless. Your Miraculouses—give them to me now or face the wrath of my feathered friends," Mr. Pigeon threatened, as all the pigeons took their positions, preparing to attack.
"On the count of three, my pigeons will open fire. You can still save your sorry skins if you give me your Miraculous. One, two—"
"Cat Noir, the bars!" Ladybug interrupted.
"Cataclysm!" Cat Noir said as his ring glowed, allowing dark energy to surround his right hand. With a swift movement, he scratched the bars, causing the entire cage to fall apart.
"Alright, let's pluck the feathers from this bird," Silver Wolf said, drawing his sword as the four of them approached Mr. Pigeon, who was backing away in fear.
"Come on, you're making this harder on yourself, and it really is," Shadow Knight said, brandishing his shield.
"Well, it looks like the pigeon is really a chicken," Cat Noir remarked.
"Me? I'm not flying away; I'm just killing two birds with one stone," Mr. Pigeon retorted, blowing his whistle before jumping off the roof.
The four of them gasped as half of his pigeons caught him and flew him away, while the other half dove towards them.
"All right, Shadow, let's do this," Silver Wolf said.
Shadow Knight nodded with a smile on his face, yelling, "Shadowgate!" As his bangle started to glow, he opened his palm, and a portal appeared right behind the pigeons.
"Okay, then, my turn," Silver Wolf said, yelling, "Moon Call!" His necklace started to glow as he took a deep breath before releasing a sonic howl attack, sending all the pigeons flying backward toward the portal.
"That was awesome, Ollie! I mean, Silver Wolf," Shadow Knight said, trying to keep their identities a secret.
"Whoa, did you see that?" Cat Noir exclaimed.
"Maybe they could be good teammates," Ladybug said, impressed.
"When the howling stops and the portal shuts, Silver Wolf makes his way over. 'Well, that's one way to scare off a bunch of birds,' he chuckles when his necklace starts to beep along with Cat Noir's ring and Shadow Knight's bangle.
'Uh oh, looks like we're about to transform back,' Cat Noir said.
'No kidding,' Shadow Knight said as he took a look at his bangle.
'Yeah, you guys wouldn't want to let your big secret out,' Ladybug said as they made their way down to the lobby where multiple guests, including the Mayor, Chloé's dad, were trapped inside.
'Ladybug, Cat Noir, thank goodness. I'm in real danger. Of losing money if my guests leave. You will stop these pigeons, right?' He asks.
'Of course, but me and my friends here have some needs to take care of,' Cat Noir said.
'Oh, of course. Use the Royal Suite. Would you there like paper or a litter tray or a giant bath?' The Mayor asks.
'Uh, no thanks, but do you have any beef jerky?' Silver Wolf asks.
'Also, any steak?' Shadow Knight adds.
'Yeah, no need for litter, but could I have some Camembert?' Cat Noir asks as the elevator goes up.
The Mayor looks at Ladybug in confusion, but all she does is shrug."
At the Royal Suite, Silver Wolf, Shadow Knight, and Cat Noir run in and slam the door.
"Thank you!" Cat Noir said when there was a knock.
"Here are your jerky and steak, sirs. How would you like your Camembert?"
"Runny!" Cat Noir said as Silver Wolf and Shadow Knight ran into the bathroom with the jerky, and Shadow Knight with his steak. Then, their timer went off, and Silver Wolf changed back into Oliver and Cloud, as well as Shadow Knight changed back to Leo and Shade.
Oliver Brown was a young boy with light skin, brown hair, and brown eyes. He was wearing a gray shirt, black pants, red and blue shoes, and a light gray jacket. His Animorph was a small silver wolf named Cloud.
Leonard Brown, or Leo, was a young boy with dark skin, black hair, and brown eyes. He was wearing a yellow shirt, black pants, a green jacket, and orange shoes. His Animorph was a small black and white dragon named Shade.
"Oh man, that was something else," Cloud groaned.
"Cloud, what the heck are we going to do? Like, come on, we can't get back home," Oliver said.
Leo walked over and put his hand on Oliver's shoulder. "Don't worry, we'll figure this out, right Shade?" He looked at his Anamorph.
Shade nodded. "Yeah, we'll figure this out no matter what. Look on the bright side, there's more of us now, right?"
Oliver just nodded. "Yeah, there is, but what the heck is a miraculous?"
Cloud looked at them, then just shook his head. "I have no idea, but we do have to get back out there."
Leo nodded his head. "Yeah, so you guys hurry up and eat your food. We've got to go."
As Shade and Cloud finished eating their food, they were ready to go.
"All right, guys, let's do this," Leo said as he yelled, "Shade, Nightfall!" His bangle started to glow, and Shade went inside of it, transforming him into Shadow Knight.
"Okay then," Oliver smirked and said, "Cloud, Fang's Out!" as his necklace started to glow, transforming him into Silver Wolf.
"It's about time you guys finished," Cat Noir said as they walked out to see him and Ladybug waiting for them.
"Don't rush us, perfection takes time," Shadow Knight smirked.
Then Silver Wolf smacked him on the head and said, "Say you're sorry."
Shadow Knight scratched the back of his head. "Sorry."
"Well, I found out where they're all going. Ready to go, dog man and lizard boy?" Ladybug smirked.
"Hey, I'm a Wolf, not a dog," Silver Wolf growled.
"I'm a dragon, clearly," Shadow Knight said, smoke coming out of his ears.
They followed the pigeons to the Grand Palais, a historical exhibition hall and museum. Inside, they saw all the park officials Mr. Pigeon abducted.
"Alright, what's the plan?" Silver Wolf asks as Cat Noir sneezes.
"Dude, cover your mouth," Shadow Knight said.
"Then where are all the pigeons?" Silver Wolf asks, looking around.
"Hang on, I have an idea," Ladybug said, leading them to the roof. "Listen, Silver Wolf and Shadow Knight, the Bird caller is where the akuma is. If we can destroy it, all of this will be fixed." Ladybug said as they found themselves right above Mr. Pigeon.
"Here's the plan: Cat Noir opens the window, I yank him up here, and you snag his bird call." Ladybug said.
Silver Wolf and Shadow Knight nod as Cat Noir opens the window, but when he does, pigeon feathers fly out, causing him to sneeze and startle Ladybug, resulting in her missing and Mr. Pigeon finding out they were there.
"So much for the element of surprise," Ladybug said as they jump down to attack.
As the four of them charge, Mr. Pigeon calls his birds to him, creating two giant fists.
"Come closer, I have a bone to peck with you," Mr. Pigeon said, ready to fight.
"I'd be honored," Cat Noir said when Mr. Pigeon swings his arm, knocking him back along with Ladybug.
"Save us, Ladybug!" A park manager said.
"Time for you, dog breath!" As Mr. Pigeon charges, Silver Wolf draws his sword and blocks the attack. Shadow Knight swings his shield behind them.
As the three of them continue fighting, Ladybug gets back up. "Lucky Charm!" She throws her yoyo into the air, and as it spins, a coin is created from it.
"A coin? What am I supposed to do with this?" She asks before looking around at Silver Wolf, the vending machine, and the coin, and then everything comes to her. "Silver Wolf!" Ladybug runs toward him.
As Mr. Pigeon throws his Pigeon arm, Shadow Knight knocks it away with his shield, and Ladybug wraps her yoyo string around his legs before Silver Wolf cups his hands together, launching her up in the air, allowing her to tie the yoyo around a metal beam. She then puts her coin in the vending machine, which gives her popcorn.
"Cat Noir!" Ladybug throws the bag into the air, and Cat Noir throws his staff into it, destroying the bag and spreading popcorn all over Mr. Pigeon. "Snack time!" Ladybug yells as the birds fly towards their snack. As he's distracted, Ladybug yanks her cord, pulling Mr. Pigeon into it and causing him to drop his bird call.
"Cat Noir, grab it!" Ladybug said as he picks it up, but the bird feathers cause him to sneeze and drop it. Ladybug gasps until she sees Silver Wolf pick it up, then he gives it to Shadow Knight.
Silver Wolf and Shadow Knight grin together as they both smash the bird call with their hands. From it, a black butterfly flies out.
"No more evil doing for you, little Akuma. Time to de-evilize," Ladybug spins her yoyo, catching the Akuma, and when she lets it go, a white butterfly flies out. "Bye-bye, little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybug!" Ladybug yells as red lights shoot out, returning the park managers to their original locations and Mr. Ramier back to normal.
"Huh, where am I?" He asks.
"Pound it," Ladybug and Cat Noir said.
But then they saw Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf about to leave.
"Hey, Shadow Knight, Silver Wolf, come on, don't leave us hanging," Ladybug smiles.
Shadow Knight smiles and says, "Okay, fine then," as he looks over to Silver Wolf and gives him puppy dog eyes. "Come on, Silver, please."
Silver Wolf sighs and says, "Fine, fine," with a smirk on his face.
"Pound it," that's the four heroes said together as they did a fist bump.
"Wretched Pigeons, wretched Ladybug! I'll destroy every one of you," Hawk Moth roared in anger.
On a random rooftop, we see Oliver and Leo sitting with Shade and Cloud on their shoulders. Leo smiled and said, "Well, that was fun. Paris was nice, but I really want to go home." Oliver sighed, "Yeah, me too, but what are we going to do now?" Suddenly, he remembered, "Oh crap, my date!" He groaned in annoyance, "What the hell are we going to do now? We've got nowhere else to go, no place to live."
An elderly man with a red shirt, brown pants, and flip-flops stood right behind them and said, "Hello, Shadow Knight and Silver Wolf." The two turned around and saw Master Fu with a smile on his face. He continued, "I might have a place where you guys can live."
