Inkaliber: Hello dear readers! Here we are again for another chapter! I'm just gonna say that I'm glad everyone's been enjoying the story so far. There have been a few bumps in the road, but even through that this story has held strong. Hopefully this one will be just as good as the ones before it.
Juleka: I'm sure they'll do great sir.
Inkaliber: Juleka. What did I tell you about all this sir nonsense? Just call me Ink like everyone else.
Juleka: Frankly the others call you Pops more than they do Ink.
Inkaliber: Yeah don't remind me. I'm 23 for goodness sake. I shouldn't get teased about being old.
Plagg: Personally I think it's more of an endearing term. They can't exactly call you Dad now can they.
Inkaliber:… Well that's an interesting way to think about it. Anyway, let's answer some reviews shall we? Ah, here we go.
The_Keeper_of_Worlds- Yeah I figured it would be good to show how the Batfam has strongarmed Bruce into accepting their views of hero secrets. After the review from the chapter before the news was shared, I felt a need to rectify the mistake I made. Now that Dick knows Danny's secret, training is going to be a good bit more interesting when Tucker isn't around. Oh these are some fun ideas for Guy getting scolded. I will say that I was planning on a Barry Allen Flash with Wally still being Kid Flash.
Speedykitten1643- I mainly needed someone to rectify Dick on what he did wrong without pressing him for information. Babs just seemed the perfect fit for this as they've been teammates the longest out of the Batkids. I always felt that Bruce would bring secret identity stuff to the League or the other members of the Batfam if he felt the need to was justified. Here's what happens next!
Gundoru- Yeah just imagine when Bruce finds out Damian withheld information about Ellie. I needed someone to talk to Dick about the mistakes he made and Barbara just seemed like the best person to do so. I'm glad the chapter was great for ya! I'm still fully deciding on who he takes to help train the Parisian heroes.
Well he's not completely out of the loop. He just didn't know about the situation in Paris. Through training under the Miracle Guardians, he has texts relating to the Miraculous in some way.
myslef- Well you got that right in one go. While it is the Butterfly Miraculous, I don't see there being a moth miraculous. With his experience, Bruce was able to deduce what was being discussed.
PlagueGhost- Thanks for the kudos!
ZeroKnight01- Eh! It wasn't too aggressive. I'm just glad I could fix the mistake before it really became a problem. Vic and Garfield are both childish when outside of combat. Them snooping around just feels like something they do as best friends. Babs came to the rescue in the end when it came to teaching Dick a lesson.
N3ffy- Thanks for all the stars!
Wingd_Knight- I never really knew when the end of the guardians occurred. I just remembered that there were still some members of the order afterwards like with the New York special and that one guy. I honestly agree that Fu wasn't the best guardian, but I'm trying to write him better for what time he has.
Yeah I figured it would be good to have someone bring Dick back to his senses. I also feel that he'd be wise enough to realize them when they were shoved right in his face. Nightwing is honestly my favorite of the Bat-clan entirely so I do my best to do him justice. I also figured that he and Babs could still be good friends. I never really thought about if they dated before the story or not, lol.
PS, I'm glad you like the name. Let me know if you do write a story with that tag. I'll have to add it to my story too, lol.
Plagg: Finally! I thought you'd never finish! I want more Dorestos.
Inkaliber: Plagg, they're called Doritos. Second, you forgot to say please. Plus, we're all out.
Plagg: I know! That's why I'm bringing this to you! Those goofballs who call you boss are busy and I ain't calling that mercenary guy after he tried to swat me thinking I was a gremlin.
Inkaliber: Ugh. Fine. I'll run to the store. Someone needs to start the chapter though. Not to mention watch over it to make sure it's properly stopped.
Juleka: I… I could do it.
Inkaliber: You sure Jules? I could always ask Marinette or Alya to do it.
Juleka: I actually like listening to your stories. It'd be nice to sit back and relax for a bit after those freaky green aliens got out.
Inkaliber: Alright. I'm counting on you here Jules. That also means the disclaimer at the beginning.
Plagg: Just come on! I'm this close to just going by myself and grabbing a bag!
Inkaliber: Don't you dare shoplift you mangey cat! If Adrien wasn't on a date with Mari I'd have him turn into Chat Noir to keep you out of trouble. Goodluck Jules!
Juleka: O…okay. Here we go. T…the author doesn't own Miraculous, Danny Phantom, Marvel, DC, or any other series that show up here. He does own any original characters, c… concepts, creatures, and places that show up… Is it not going to start?
…Oh my gosh! I forgot to press the button! Let's hope this one is…

Gotham City
The revving of a motorcycle could be heard throughout the streets of Gotham. It was a rather dreary night, not one you'd see people normally out around. It was days like this that trouble always seemed to be brewing in the city. Anyone would know to stay off the streets unless absolutely necessary. Then again, the man riding the bike wasn't just anyone.
The rider seemed to be an adult man, well-built due to some visible definition. He wore a red helmet with white eye lenses, a tan leather jacket, a dark grey leotard with a red symbol resembling a bat on the chest, black gloves, grey combat pants, strong black boots, black leather gun holsters on his hips, and a dark grey utility belt. This man was known as the Red Hood: Batman's most violent ally. What many did not know was that he was once one of the few Robins the Dark Knight had ever trained. Hood pushed these thoughts to the back as he took a turn that seemed to lead to a dead end.
Instead he found himself on a path down the side of a cliff. He soon reached his destination, one of the many hidden entrances to the cave system below Gotham. As soon as he drove into it a stone wall quickly rose behind him. He made his way through the area until he came upon one of the most sought out locations in Gotham: The Batcave. He paid no attention to the artifacts around him as he parked his motorcycle in a spot labeled by his symbol.
"What a night." Groaned the Red Hood. He dismounted the vehicle before removing his helmet. He revealed his pale skin, blue eyes, and short black hair that had a small white streak in the front. This was Jason Todd, one of Bruce's adopted sons. He cracked his neck as he tried to relieve some stress.
He quickly walked over towards a small elevator, using it to travel upwards. It soon came to a stop, opening up to reveal one of the many hallways of Wayne Manor. Jason yawned as he walked through the building, a wall with a grandfather clock sliding to obscure the elevator. He stretched his back as he walked into a large living room area. "I can't wait to get to my bed and…"
The Red Hood came to a stop as he saw three people sitting in the midst of the room. Two of them were Dick and Alfred. The third, however, was a man dressed in a tuxedo. The man, much like Dick and Jason, had black hair and blue eyes. This was Bruce Wayne, and the serious look on his face told Jason that he wasn't going to get out of this conversation.
"Welcome home Jason." Greeted the head of the Wayne household. "We need to talk. Could you please have a seat?" Jason growled, knowing that was more a demand than a question. He harrumphed as he took a seat in the lounger across from the trio.
"Don't be like that Jay-bird." Reassured Dick. "You aren't in trouble or anything. We just figured that it was better to talk about this now rather than later." All this gained the first boy wonder was an eyeroll from his adoptive brother. Jason pointed at the trio with a frown.
"If this ain't me being in trouble for something then can it wait until morning?" asked the violent man. "I've been missing time with my bed." Alfred shook his head in denial.
"I'm afraid this cannot wait, Master Jason." Denied the butler. "This conversation has been a long time coming." Bruce stood up before anything else could be said by the Red Hood.
"Jason, it's been years since the incident with the Lazarus Pit." Stated the head of the house. "Ever since you haven't talked to anyone about it. You haven't even given yourself time to relax. You've become reckless." Jason let out a sarcastic laugh as he shook his head.
"Oh I'm sorry." Growled the Red Hood. "Is this Bruce talking to me, or Batman? Because these days it's hard to tell when you're being one or the other. I'm following your rules so just give me my space." Dick sighed as he shook his head.
"Jason, we're just worried about you." Reassured the acrobat. "You're part of our family and we just want to make sure you're alright. You spend so much time out in the city that we rarely have the chance to talk about this. It's not healthy to…" Jason growled as his eyes seemed to glow slightly.
"Oh don't give me that! We've been over this time and time again! I'm fine! I don't need the pity parade after everything that happened!" Dick leaned forward as he held his hands together.
"It's not a pity parade, Jason. We're just trying to help you deal with everything." Jason just looked away from the trio, causing Alfred to look at his watch.
"It would seem that we are not getting anywhere with this." Stated the butler. "I say it's time we bring in the cavalry. We tried keeping this in the family, but you've forced our hand. We have acquired a counselor for you." Jason's eyes lit up in fury as he stood up.
"I don't need a shrink!" roared the rebellious man. "I need you to get off my…" Alfred took a step forward, spooking the man.
"Master Jason! Please watch that mouth of yours." Jason grumbled as he crossed his arms. He may not be happy about this arrangement, but he knew Alfred could lay him out if he wanted to. Bruce sighed as he stood up.
"Look, Jason, it's just one session." Revealed the billionaire. "That's all we're asking. If the counselor ends up being shady or she gives you a clean bill of health, we'll stop. Please just give this a shot." Dick decided to chime in as he sat straight.
"Plus she's working to get into college, and she seems legit despite that notion." Added the first Boy Wonder. "Are you going to deprive the world of proper psychological help?" Jason groaned as he rolled his eyes.
"Alright!" relented the Red Hood. "Alright. Just this once. You're going to shut up about this no matter what happens though." Bruce shook his head in denial.
"We'll never stop worrying about you, but we will dial it back." Partly accepted the Dark Knight. "You have to actually try with this one." Jason waved him off as he walked towards his room.
"Yeah, yeah. Wake me when something happens." He took one step in his room, only to notice his computer was powered on. "You set it up for tonight, didn't you?" The group said nothing as they remained in the living area.
Jason groaned as he slammed his door. "Just great. Now I gotta get dressed for that." The violent bird took some time changing into a different attire. He swapped to a black tank top and a pair of grey sweat pants, not even bothering to slip on his slippers.
He sat at his computer as he opened a tab for a random chat site. "This better be worth my time. Let's see what this… BluePassion… has for me. Not gonna lie it's a nice username." Jason entered the call, nearly surprised when the person on the other end picked up immediately.
"Hello." Greeted the counselor. "Just to be sure, is this actually Jay-bird?" Jason couldn't help but groan as he rubbed his temple.
"Okay, who told you that one? Did Dick mention it?" The voice on the other side let loose a light chuckle.
"I don't know about any personal names, but Jay-bird is your account name." Jason looked to the side showing his screen name, growling at the annoying nickname. "Let me guess. Sibling decided to pull a fast one on you while making the account." Jason hummed as he nodded his head.
"That sums it up. I take it you have experience with older siblings." The woman on the other end laughed at the violent hero's statement.
"More younger siblings. I am the older sibling." At this Jason couldn't help but chuckle. "Anyway, how's your day been so far." The second Bat child shook his head as he sighed.
"Pretty good, I guess. You being graded on subtlety or something?" There was a pause on the other side before a sigh.
"Look, let's not talk about me. This is about you and your life. I may be doing this for a grade, but my first priority is helping you if you need it, Jay. It's alright if I call you Jay, right?" Jason hummed as he crossed his arms, seeming to mull over the woman's words.
"…I'm fine with that. That's the first time I've heard someone say something like that and not leave me feeling like I'm being scammed. What did they tell you about me, Blue?" There was a bit of a chuckle on the other end. Soon the sound of a file opening caught his attention.
"They didn't mention anything too personal, like who you are. All your guardian mentioned was that you were declared dead years ago, only for you to turn up recently. From what I can tell he's worried about your mental health. Given the phone number came from Gotham, I say his concerns stem from good sources." Jason snickered as he shook his head.
"Yeah stereotypes for this city don't do it justice on that end. We got all kinds of madmen running around here. Arkham does a sh… shaky job of keeping its inmates locked up. That's… kind of how I went missing in the first place." There was a bit of typing on the other end before a pause.
"Sounds like you had a dangerous run in. Do you feel comfortable talking about it?" For the first time in a long time, Jason hesitated. He could feel the head pounding headache of what happened to him coming back once again. The strikes, the exhaustion, and the sinister laugh.
He grabbed at his head a bit, taking deep breaths as he tried to think. "It's alright if you're not ready to talk about it. I'm perfectly fine with just talking for now." Jason sighed as he felt the pain in his head start to leave. Something about this woman's voice seemed to lull him back to reality.
"That… would probably be for the best. Thinking about it makes my head hurt. It's why I can't talk about it without sounding overly aggressive. I can't force it." Some more typing on the other end occurred.
"That's fine Jay. We'll take things at your pace. We can even do more sessions if you want. And before you make an oh-so snarky remark, no I'm not being paid for this." Jason blinked a bit as he looked at the screen.
"You're not? I thought B would have paid you a lot for this." Blue laughed on her side of the call.
"He tried to, but I turned him down. I'm only interested in helping others and the grade is more than enough repayment for me. You'd think I was talking to Bruce Wayne with how much he wanted to give me. While a scholarship would be nice, I'd rather earn that by my own merit." Jason chuckled as he shook his head.
"You know this technically would count for that. Not very mature of you to ignore that bit." There was a bit of fake laughter on the end, which only served to make Jason smile.
"I already get enough of that from my brother. He's always poking fun at me for trying to be the mature one. Shows what he knows though. At least I'm not the one who let loose an army of frogs in my school days." Jason had to do his best to hold back a laugh as he covered his mouth.
"He really did that? I gotta get the story on that." It sounded like Blue was about to do just that when Jason's door suddenly opened.
"I am glad that your counseling is going well but could you keep it down." Interrupted Damian as he popped his head into the room. "I'm trying to have a conversation of my own… No Jon it would be a bad idea to add her to the server… Because I said…" Jason threw one of his pillows at the child, forcing him to bow his head out before the violent man slammed the door shut.
"Learn to knock ya little Demon Brat!" Jason took a few deep breaths before locking his door. He sat back down as he rubbed his temples. "Sorry about that. He's just…"
"Annoying and invasive?" guessed Blue. "While I can't approve of the 'Demon Brat' comment, I feel your pain. Anyway, the frog story." Jason sighed as he nodded his head. He wouldn't give Bruce the satisfaction of saying he was right… but he was grateful to have someone to just talk to.
Paris, France
A song by Jagged Stone could be heard playing within the boathouse of the Couffaine family. The sound was originating from Juleka's room, the sound of shuffling being heard within. The girl could be seen tugging on the sleeve of a shirt as she walked towards her mirror. She finally finished the adjustments as she took a look at herself. She was currently wearing a black dress with some mossy green highlights to it, as well as a pair of black flats.
"This feels more like a fancy date or a formal party than in town wear." Commented the normally gloomy girl. She walked over to her closet, the sound of shuffling filling the air. She walked out again, this time in a black t-shirt with a dark turquoise star on it and a pair of jeans. "Cute but doesn't really feel right." She stepped back into her closet as she looked for another potential outfit.
She walked out with a smile, stopping as she looked in the mirror. She was now wearing a mossy green jean jacket with black buttons, a black short sleeved shirt with a subtle V-neck, a pair of knee high black jean shorts, a pair of mossy green leggings, and the same pair of black flats. She smiled as she puffed the jacket a bit, only to freeze as she heard a camera shutter.
"Hold that pose Jules!" cheered Rose. The girl popped up from behind Juleka in the mirror, causing her to turn around in shock. The shy girl held her hands up in protest.
"Rose! You should have knocked!" The blonde sent her the puppy dog eyes as she held her camera close.
"I couldn't help it! You look so pretty! Please just a few poses! I promise I won't show anyone unless you say so." Juleka sighed in defeat, having no power to resist he friend's overwhelming adorableness.
"Fine." Juleka put her hands on her jacket as the blonde began to take photos again. Rose giggled as she lowered the camera a bit.
"Give us a strut!" The shy girl couldn't help but chuckle as she did as told, a smile starting to form on her face as she walked to the other side of the room. "Beautiful! You're a natural! Now a chair pose, any you feel comfortable with!" Juleka couldn't help but let out her own giggle as she sat in her chair, spinning around with her legs crossed in front of her.
Rose took a few more snaps before sending her friend a thumbs up. "All the boys are going to go wild when you're ready to reveal your beauty to the world." Juleka rolled her eyes sarcastically as she sat in a more relaxed position.
"Are you done now?" The young Couffaine smiled as her bubbly friend put the camera away. "Thanks for the confidence boost but that's not why I called you here. Could you please take a seat on the bed?" Rose quickly did so, a happy smile on her face.
"So what's going on? Are you ready to try and get yourself out there? Need some advice on your new look? You've already got my approval there." Juleka shook her head with a sigh.
"I'm not ready to put myself out there yet, but I'm glad my fifth attempt got someone's approval. I need you to be level headed about what we discuss here. I also need you to be as quiet as possible. I don't want Mom or Luka to figure out." Rose looked confused by the nature of the request, but nodded nonetheless.
Juleka took a couple of minutes to breathe before speaking. "Let's say you meet someone from out of town and you become good friends with him. After a while you realize that he's become an important part of your life. You start to realize that… you like him." Throughout all of this exposition, Rose was continuing to try and hold back a squeal that was starting to grow.
"No way! You…!" Juleka quickly made zipping motions at her lips, causing the blonde to pause as she reigned in her excitement. "You like Danny! I knew it!"
"Please keep this on the downlow, at least while you're here. I… I don't want them making a big deal about it before I can even see if he feels the same. It's not every day you meet a cute guy online and…" Juleka covered her mouth, realizing what she just said. As she feared Rose latched onto that slip up, the blonde looking to her.
"Wait… Cute? That implies you've seen him." The bubbly girl gasped as she realized what that meant. "You guys have seen each other! Tell me!"
"Alright but keep it quiet!" Rose quickly zipped her lip, showing that she hopefully wouldn't yell again. Juleka sighed as she shook her head. "One day we were both online and decided to play some games and do a video call. I was actually the one who brought it up."
Rose gasped happily at the revealed fact. "He… he's the cutest guy I've ever met. He just has this life to his eyes that no one else has. He's also kind, caring, adorably dorky. He also…"
Rose scooted in closer in response to her best friend's hesitance, urging her to keep going. "He… he said I definitely could be a model. He even reiterated that he thought a mossy green would look good on me." She covered her face as she tried to fight off the immense blush that was beginning to form. Rose suddenly hugged with a squeal, the noise strained in order to keep it as quiet as possible.
"Oh my gosh, Jules! He totally likes you! That's why you're trying to find a new style! This is so amazing." Juleka peeked through her fingers as she looked to her friend.
"H… he could just be very honest and nice. That doesn't mean he likes me." Rose sat up from the hug, putting her hands on her hips.
"Juleka Amber Couffaine. No boy I know would go as far as to say a girl could be a model without being attracted in some way. You can't honestly tell me he didn't blush or at least look a bit awkward." Juleka tried to find an excuse to cover her belief, only to stop as a thought crossed her mind. Both she and Danny were blushing AND awkward after being left to their own devices by Nightwing.
Seeing as she hadn't received a response, Rose smirked as she rubbed her best friend's shoulder. "Jules, you two have been subconsciously flirting ever since the name reveals. Sam and Alix may have been a bit strong about it, but it doesn't change the fact that it's true. Now you can either take this situation and actually try to get the guy, or you can let Sam scare you off and take him for herself." Juleka lowered her hands as she got a surprisingly scrutinizing look on her face.
"What do you mean? Are you saying Sam…" Rose nodded her head in response.
"I know I'm called the airhead of the class by people who don't know me well enough, but I'm not stupid. Sam is clearly being defensive of Danny, meaning she thinks she has some claim to him. It's obvious that they're not dating, so she's trying to keep other girls off him. She likes him but hasn't made a move yet." Juleka looked to her lap as she felt a fire similar to the one she had during Nightwing's interrogation light in her chest.
"She… she can't do that. She has to let him make his own choices! She can't just push away every girl that shows interest in him! Oh my… this is what Tuck was talking about when it comes to her." Rose nodded as she removed her hand from the red eyed girl.
"Exactly. If you want Danny, you're going to have to beat Sam to it. That or hope he turns her down." Juleka took deep breaths as she tried to control this bout of rage she felt. She sighed as she flopped backwards on her bed.
"I… I can't. She lives in the same town as him. Meanwhile here I am across the ocean. It just isn't fair. I want to see him so bad." Rose smiled as she laid down beside the distraught girl.
"Well he's talking about wanting to come and see us. If that ever happens you could ask him then. That or he might surprise you and ask you out next time you talk. You just have to keep holding on to hope." Juleka sighed as she looked up at the ceiling of her room.
Rose suddenly got an idea as she sat up. "You know what? I'm going to get the girls together, and we are going to help you get that guy. When we work together, there's nothing a little girl power can't do." Juleka hummed as she scrunched her nose in contemplation.
She allowed Rose to pull her up with a confident grin. "We're going to make you the best outfit, get your confidence going, and make sure Danny knows that he has a fine young lady waiting for him in Paris. Sam won't even be able to compete with the beautiful, amazing, and majestic Tigress!" Juleka couldn't help but laugh at the title, her heart racing at the thought. She felt lucky to have a friend like Rose to pick her up.
Amity Park, Illinois
Danny walked through the halls of Casper High, doing his best to focus on his objective. Ever since the meeting brought about by Dick, he found himself often distracted by one thing. Or more, one person. His feelings towards Juleka had become more confusing than ever before, her face repeatedly popping up in his mind. Her laugh would sometimes haunt his dreams, leaving him with a sense of longing.
He didn't know who to turn to for this. He couldn't trust his parents to be helpful in this area. They may have gotten together, but they weren't always the best examples to follow. Jazz would never let him live it down and Tucker honestly doesn't know as much about this kind of stuff as he'd like people to believe. Then there was Sam… who would give him the "I knew it" speech before trying to yell and/or talk him out of his feelings. He needed someone to help him come to terms with what he was feeling, not flat out say no with extreme prejudice.
Danny laughed mentally, imagining how hypocritical that makes the goth girl. He shook his head as he neared a specific classroom. It's the end of the day so there wasn't any classes to worry about missing. There was only one person he could talk to about this. He just hoped that she wouldn't make fun of him for it or break his trust.
"What's with the look Danny-boy?" asked Valery as she noticed his approach. "You look as nervous as a dog looking for its toy." Danny sighed as he shook his head.
"Can I talk with you for a moment?" asked the ghost boy. "Alone? I don't know who else to talk to that won't be biased. Please?" Valery raised a brow in interest, only to add a smile to it.
"Calm yer beggin'. You don't need to beg to talk to me. Let's talk in the science lab. They had to vacate it after the Phantom fight yesterday." There was an obvious hint of anger in the girl's voice, but Danny elected to ignore the hatred of his hero identity as he followed the former A-lister.
They closed the door behind them, Valery quickly taking a seat on one of the desks. "So, what's eating at ya?" Danny sighed as he rubbed his arm.
"So… you know how Tuck told you that I was flirting with a girl? I tried so hard to reiterate that we were not flirting?" Valery nodded, a growing smile on her face. "Well… what if I told you that I just found out I may have actually been… You know…"
"Flirting with her all along?" Danny chuckled in embarrassment, not entirely surprised that she read him like a book. "Look at you growin' up and getting a clue. I figured you'd think it was a good thing." Danny held up his hands defensively.
"I mean, part of me thinks that it's fantastic. I've never liked a girl the same way I do her. At the same time… I'm nervous whether I actually like her or if I'm overreading things. I'm also wondering if she likes me back." Valery grinned as she stood up from her unorthodox seat.
"Well what have ya been saying to her? I happen to be an expert on when a girl is flirtin' or not." Danny chuckled as he opened his phone.
"I can't exactly show you our full conversations… not without her permission. This is what I've gathered that doesn't have anything personal or private in them. Even now I'm wondering if I should be showing you this." Valery rolled her eyes with a chuckle, receiving the phone from the boy. She hummed as she scrolled through the images of the messages.
She made a whooping sound as she read over them. "Is… is everything good." Valery grinned as she handed him the phone.
"Boy do you know how to make a girl feel special. Before I say anything else, I gotta ask one question. Have you even seen this girl? Do you know what she looks like?" Danny nodded as a small smile grew on his face.
"Y…yeah I have actually. I can't show you until she's ready for that kind of attention but… she's the most beautiful girl I've ever met. Heck, she could be a model when she grows older. I'm talking 'Paulina who?' levels." Valery hummed, actually interested in meeting this "LadyTigress16."
"Now tell me this: did you start feeling this way for the girl before or after you found out what she looked like?" Danny rubbed the back of his head as he thought over the answer. He decided to be honest as he nodded his head.
"I found out I had these feelings for her before seeing her. It was on the day I stunned Dash with that pin." Valery winced with a grin as she remembered that.
"Boy I remember that day! Dash has steered clear of you like the plague. Better watch your back if rumors of him planning something are true. Definitely don't let him know about this girl." Danny growled as he did his best to keep his eyes from glowing.
"If he even thinks about going near Jules, I'll give him something to be scared of… Jules is my nickname for this girl. Anyway, what's the verdict?" Valery smirked as she hummed, as if she was pretending to think about it. She quickly put her hands on her hips as she looked Danny in the eye.
"Danny-boy, you are hopelessly head over heels for this girl. The way you describe her, the way you smile when you talk about her. Heck, any non-feminist girl who heard you being defensive of her like that would be after your single butt in a good way." Danny looked down in contemplation. Hearing the confirmation from Valery had a different feel than someone he's constantly around.
The formerly popular girl decided to continue as she noticed his response. "You must be the luckiest boy on the planet, 'cause it's clear she's feelin' something for you too." Danny blinked a few times before unconsciously sending the brightest smile he's ever mustered at his frenemy.
"You mean it? You think she likes me?" Valery smiled as she began to count on her fingers.
"She uses heart emojis that I've seen plenty of girls use to hint their feelings from their crushes, she continually mentions how important you are to her, she comes up with compliments like 'the goofiest guy I know'… Boy she's even laughing at your terrible jokes. Even if she doesn't know it yet, the girl is into you." While he should have felt insulted by the jab at his humor, Danny felt more inclined to focus on the butterflies that were forming in his stomach. If Valery wasn't right in front of him, he'd have flown while doing triple axle summersaults in the air.
Said ex-A-lister chuckled as she shook her head. "If I were you I would ask her out ASAP boy. Even if it's just for a digital date of some kind or a video dinner. I remember hearing that she's very far off, but maybe try getting with her and figuring this out." Danny finally found his breath as he nodded his head.
"I'll… do my best on that one, though it'll take me a bit. Thanks for helping me work through this Val. If I didn't talk to anyone about this I probably would have just kept it to myself until it just burst out. You definitely saved me a lot of pain here." The ex-popular girl smiled in response to the praise.
"What are friends for, Danny?"
Juleka: Heh. He really is cute. Almost makes me wonder…
Inkaliber: I'm back. Finally pacified the little rat. Thanks for covering for me Jules. I… What are you smiling like that for?
Juleka: N…nothing! J…just finishing the chapter! It's all yours.
Inkaliber:… Okay. Just know you can talk with me about anything. I may not be your dad, but I am a good listener.
Juleka: I… I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.
Inkaliber: The offer's always open. Anyway, what did you lovely readers think of the chapter? Did you like Jason actually giving BluePassion a chance? How about Danny turning to Val for an unbiased opinion? What do you think story Juleka's new attire should look like? Let me know what you think down below and I'll try to get back to you ASAP. This is Inkaliber, signing out.
