Sirius, Remus, and Iris rode to the game that night together. Iris had to meet up with the other cheerleaders and wanted to check on Care. She had been off at school and Iris decided enough. She wasn't going to let her best friend become some stupidly gorgeous vampires snack. Walking up to the group she heard Caroline comment to Elena, "So you decided you're not going to cheer but you're still here in uniform. Please make up your mind." Caroline turned around and rolled her eyes. Iris caught this action and snickered.
Bonnie looked to be off in her own world. Stefan and Elena were ogling each other. Ew.
The game began and the cheerleaders are on the sidelines watching. It was interesting to watch. Iris had never seen this in real life before. Iris was pretty sure that the team wasn't supposed to be acting like they were though. There's the drama she was waiting for.
Caroline was trying to get all the cheerleaders in formation, unfortunately not all were cooperating. "Hey Tiki, its all wobbly. Can you stand straight. Could someone help Tiki" Caroline yells.
Bonnie keeps staring off, Elena is trying to sneak off the field and Iris is trying to help Caroline. This is crazy. Finally halftime comes and the football team heads towards the locker room. Iris tells her friend that she's going to find her uncles really quick.
The men had been trying to keep and eye on the less travelled areas and the two girls. They didn't want anything to happen. Remus had been closest so they were both waiting on Sirius. Finally seeing him heading towards them from the parking lot, he had a serious look on his face.
"The football coach is dead" Sirius stated.
Iris and Remus were shocked, "How" Remus asked.
"Those brothers were arguing and the older one got pissed, he snapped and attacked the coach." Sirius explained what he had seen.
Iris turned to head back towards the field, "I have to get Care, I'm not leaving her out here. Not when that psycho is going out killing people" Iris stated quickly. Both men nodded at her, following behind.
Iris ran over to where she had left Caroline by the field, they had just cancelled the game and called the police. Bonnie and Elena were no where to be seen.
"Care!" Iris yelled for her, "Hey do you want to stay at my house tonight since the game is done, I really need to talk with you about something important"
Caroline looked at Iris, "Of course! I really didn't want to go home and be alone in an empty house"
"Great, my uncles are waiting on us. I figured I could just ride with you since they drove me" Iris said.
The girls notice the emergency lights pulling into the parking lot. "No idea" Iris lied. "Will your mom be here then"
Care looked at the police for a moment, "She should be if that many cars just pulled in. Lets find her so I can tell her where I'm going"
Sirius and Remus are waiting off the field for the girls. Smiling at them Remus tells them, "It looks like the coach was attacked by an animal. They are sending everyone home"
Caroline looks at Iris, "That's really close for a wild animal"
Iris tells Remy and Siri that Caroline wanted to see if her mom was there so she could tell her where she was going for the night. They all walk off to find Sheriff Forbes.
Finally finding the sheriff, both men introduce themselves as does Iris.
"Mom I'm going to stay at Iris's house for tonight" Caroline tells her
"Good, I don't want you to be alone tonight, and I don't think I'm going to be home anytime soon" Sheriff Forbes tells her, looking to the rest she says, "Thank you for letting her stay"
Smiling, Remus tells the sheriff, "She's been an amazing friend to Iris, we are happy to have her"
The men walk the girls to Carolines car and then follow them all the way home.

Pulling up to the house, Caroline finally gets to see where her best friend lives. "Did you guys remodel this place? It looks amazing" Caroline exclaims.
Iris laughs, "Yea we thought it was perfect because we could make it exactly how we wanted"
"Well you guys did an amazing job, it looks like something out of a magazine" Caroline replies.
Walking in, Iris shows Caroline to her bedroom, "Let's get changed and I can give you a tour" coming back down, Iris showed her the house, ending the tour in the kitchen for a snack.
Remus and Sirius look to Iris for her to begin the conversation they needed to have.
"Care, I need to talk to you about some important things. Some are about my family and others are about things going on in this town. It's to dangerous to keep you in the dark and I don't think it's fair to keep secrets like this" Iris paused to take a breath, "I didn't want to keep it a secret but its important to know that the things about my family can't be repeated to anyone outside this house. I'm not trying to freak you out but it's really important and I don't want to lose you as a friend"
Caroline is starting to look worried. What could possibly be so big that Iris is scared of her response. Grabbing Iris's hand and looking her in the eye she says, "I promise you won't lose me as a friend. No matter what you tell me!"
Nodding to Sirius, Remus sets a paper in front of Caroline, "If you sign this paper she will be able to tell you everything. It's not that we don't trust you to keep it a secret but this will make it so no one can ever make you tell" he explains.
Sirius adds, "Trust me, that's a benefit for you with what's going on in the town"
Caroline looks at both men and then to Iris who has tears in her eyes, "If it's this important but you want to share it with me, I'll sign. I just want to make it clear that I would never tell anyone regardless" she tells them.
Iris hugs Caroline, "Thank you! I hate lying to you"
Remus gives Caroline a special pen, "It may pinch when you write but we will explain that later"
They all watch as she signs. Wincing at the pen drawing blood. After she is finished she looks to the group expectantly.
Iris then begins her story. Starting with the war back home, how they came to be in Mystic Falls, and finishing with what is happening here now.
