Hey guys! Ready for another chapter? Things will be rather interesting as we take a trip back to Jump City. What will happen and how will things go? You'll find out after the reviews section.
LunarCouncillor: Roaar indeed enjoyed playing with Juleka, LOL! As for your second review, we'll see what happens.
Njistar: There were indeed some fun times that night. Oh don't worry about the jerk. She won't be happy AT ALL! Ellie will indeed be experiencing all of the spoiling. Well Bruce was shown to be having troubles sorting out the DNA so he couldn't get a full match. Jason might just beat him to the punch.
Crazy_Swedish_Viking: I'm glad that you enjoyed the chapter. I will consider the idea. I will admit that I had things get a bit steamy in the Party Beats chapter. I will apologize for the fact that I only know names and appearances from the Addams family. The most I could do is reference it as a tv show in the world as I wouldn't know how to handle the characters.
darknessslayer: Luka indeed got something that night. MDC is indeed the mysterious brand on the rise in this story. The status is something to seek out. If you want more Xiaolin Showdown, I think you'll like this chapter. Chloe will be in the midst of this from what last chapter suggested and you do have an interesting idea there. Danny and Ellie really needed that touching moment in their familial relationship.
Fregreg: Yeah that's a fair point. I'm glad that you enjoyed them. If Danny is indeed Donnel like all the signs suggest then Damian will indeed have something to think about with Jon and Ellie's relationship.
The_Keeper_of_Worlds: I'm glad that you enjoy it so much. I have some fun things planned out. Hopefully this chapter will be good as well.
IshikuX7: All the signs do lead to such a conclusion, yes.
Fuyu_FoxWriter: Yeah. Sorry for being away so long. I'm glad that you enjoyed them so much. Hopefully I can keep making this story a good one.
deathfang1920: Thanks!
Classiccartoon27: It looks like Jason has indeed figured it out. It's interesting that you thought Clockwork would tell them, though I could see it. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Danny and Ellie definitely have to work out a lot when it comes to their relationship but they're on the right track. If he ever were to do such a thing it would definitely be a big shocker for most of them.
The_Avenging_Titan: It is something that many people have been calling out though I am glad that the possibility is still a big twist. To be fair a lot of evidence has been seen throughout the moments where the parents were mentioned or present. Either way things are going to be very interesting.
Rocky: I'm glad you enjoyed reading about the date and that I could make a fun small ship for ya.
Chase: Yup! I'm glad that you enjoyed them. I figured it would be good for Danny to meet the other Kryptonians while also having his moment with Ellie.
Gwen: It will indeed involve some waiting. I'm glad that you enjoyed the chapter. Well there was a mention of "EvilGeniusSpicer" which was a massive hint. That would be an interesting interaction. I will say that a pairing has already been devised for Haley.
Zebralord23: LOL! I will admit that things got a bit spicy.
Speedykitten1643: Technically he would be the first. Bruce only knows that someone in Amity Park is Donell, not exactly who. As for if Marinette is Maria, you'll have to wait and see. I particularly enjoyed setting up that moment for Danny and Ellie. With how things are going it's not just Danny that's going to have an interesting relationship with his little girl.
ThatCreepyDude (No offense but I'm not typing the real name): I'm glad that you enjoy the trope. That will definitely be an interesting meeting indeed. Danny has interacted with Anarka and Luka before but I can see what you mean. That would actually be a rather interesting father-daughter day. Things are definitely going to get wild as the story progresses.
ZnarElloynArvolo: LOL! It is looking like it.
XxXNightcoreQueenXxX: You'll just have to see what happens. A lot of hints have been pointing towards Amity Park as far as Donell goes.
That looks like everyone so let's get started. I don't own Miraculous, Danny Phantom, Marvel, DC, or any other series that show up here. I do own any original characters, concepts, creatures, and places that work their way into the story unless stated otherwise.

Jump City, California
Dick Grayson hummed to himself, looking over the evidence compiled in the Paris case. They were narrowing down the list of subjects to adult males, assuming that Hawkmoth wasn't a woman in disguise. With how the Miraculous give their users the ideal form they desire, his monetary status was unclear as well. The leader of the Titans sighed, happy that Wonderwoman was helping in Paris at the moment. He crossed his arms, his head tilted down slightly.
"Whoever Hawkmoth is, he's covered his tracks rather well," stated Dick. "He's more difficult to track than Slade was. He's taking this extremely seriously. I'd say he's earned himself a spot in Arkham with how methodical and downright insane his tactics are."
The hero looked to his right, spotting the picture of him and his siblings. He walked over to the picture, picking it up as he took in the duo's features. "Your birthday is coming soon, guys. Another year of hoping you're healthy and safe out there…" His frown began to deepen in sadness, only for his communicator to go off.
He hardened his frown as he picked the device up, watching as the screen displayed Raven. "Nightwing here." The magic girl nodded her head in response.
"I'm calling a team meeting," stated Raven. "Something's come up that we can't ignore." Dick nodded his head, closing his communicator as he changed into his Nightwing suit. He walked into the main area, watching as Cyborg and Starfire soon followed. Beastboy flew into the room as a bird before changing back, huffing as he shook his wet hair.
"Sorry dudes!" cried the shapeshifter. "I was just finishing in the shower when Rae sounded the alert." Raven floated into the room, a book in her hands.
"Thank you for getting here quickly. We have a situation here in Jump City, the magical kind." Victor groaned at this, shaking his head.
"Please tell me it's not Mumbo Jumbo again," pleaded the tech hero. "Last time he showed up he made gunk come out of his hat and messed up my tech." Raven shook her head in denial.
"No, but it would be a serious matter even if he were involved. Recently there have been signs of powerful relics, separate from the Miraculous situation, popping up around the world. Normally there are people that handle this but one such relic has become active in Jump City. Depending on which one it is, it could have a devastating effect in the wrong hands." Dick nodded his head, his serious glare on his face.
"What kind of relics are we dealing with?" questioned Nightwing. Raven turned the pages of the book trying to find the right section. She finally stopped the flipping, looking over the page.
"They're known as the Shen Gong Wu, powerful artifacts created and guarded by the Xiaolin Monastic Order. Xiaolin Dragons give up part of themselves to create the Shen Gong Wu, the process creating anything from a simple feather that can write in the air to a powerful crystal dragon statue that is currently too dangerous to use. With the number of villains in the city that would abuse the Wu, as the relics are called in short term, as well as the villains that seek them out we can't take any chances. I can't tell exactly which one it is but I can track it down with its active signature." Starfire shook her head in response, a slight frown on her face.
"This sounds most urgent," stated the alien princess. Dick hummed in agreement, his fists clenched. He looked towards the elevator with a nod.
"Let's take care of this quickly," ordered the leader. "I don't want criminals getting their hands on anything magical. Titans, go!"
Chloe sat in the midst of a busy studio, a bored and annoyed look on her face. She had hoped when her father sent her to spend time with her mother that the woman actually wanted to see her. Instead she was being made to either fetch things or hold random things her mother would pawn off on others. It was very clear that her father had just sent her over to try once again to make her and her mother bond. The key word Chloe was experiencing so far was "try".
Other than being made to stay in the studio, she was practically ignored in any sense other than professional. She had to practically run around as her mother made her work for her stay, trying her best not to make a mess of things. Grab the red thread, bring the blue ribbon, take this bag to the trash, tell the model she's fired, tell the model she's unfired. The more work Chloe did, the more she began to hate the old her for trying to emulate the monster of a woman. She felt her body twitch, hearing the clapping of her mother.
"Doey!" cried Audrey Bourgeois. "I need that Arctic Blue thread NOW!" The hidden hero held her hands together with a faux smile.
"Yes, Mother!" cried Chloe. She carefully looked over each thread of blue, reading the labels. She grabbed the right one as she quickly made her way through the studio, earning some apologetic looks from the people in the area. She soon reached the main room, her mother working on a dress. The woman growled as she looked over the seam she was threatening over.
The slender woman had fair-skin with golden-blonde hair that was cut into a sharp bob with short bangs that framed her face, blue eyes, and a round heart-shaped face that was obscured by a pair of dark oval-shaped shades which covered her eyes. She wore a white strapless jumpsuit with a thick black stripe down the right side that was long in length and bared around the shoulder blades. On her head she wore a black hat with black-and-yellow color stripes on the underside, a yellow hat band, and a black-and-yellow flower on the left side. She also wore a pair of bright golden high-heel shoes and white evening gloves which reached up to just under her elbows, a gold ring with a modern design on her ring finger, and a golden bangle-like necklace around her neck with black gemstones and white outlines. She held out her hand expectantly as Chloe handed her the requested thread, only to scoff at the sight of it.
"This is Uranian Blue. I told you to grab Arctic Blue!" The bee hero frowned, doing her best to not show her anger.
"It is Arctic Blue. It says so on top AND on the thread wall." Audrey looked at the top, only to toss the thread to where Chloe had to catch it.
"I changed my mind. Bring me Alice Blue." The daughter did her best not to groan, anger slowly seeping further into her expression as she had to run once again. She quickly found the requested blue, running back as quickly as possible. "This is obviously Gray!" Chloe shook her head in denial.
"The top and the wall say Alice Blue. I can read and I HAPPEN to know colors very well." She looked towards the dress her mother was making, noticing that the blue was being meshed with a pale orange. She hissed at the sight, not exactly fond of it. Her mother threw the thread again, forcing her to catch it.
"Columbia Blue. This time don't mess up." Chloe groaned under her breath at this, practically stomping as she felt a boiling point begin to grow in her. She looked over each and every color, finding exactly the one she was told to grab. It was in the wrong spot this time, replacing it with the right color before she made her way back through the studio.
"I checked every single color this time. I even found it in the wrong spot and put the right one back. It's Columbia Blue like you asked for." Her mother looked over it a bit, seeming to inspect it closely. She threw it behind her again, the thread bouncing off of Chloe's head as her eye twitched.
"I changed my mind. Someone else can grab me the Arctic Blue. Go get me a mocha, no foam, light on the espresso, and some cinnamon shavings. That should be an easier task for an intern. Chop-chop!"
Chloe felt like she was about to explode, practically running out of the studio as she groaned. Her emotions continued to bubble up, her emotion control exercises almost lost on her as she stomped along the pavement. She felt like crying as she hugged her arms, her movement slowing.
"'That should be an easier task for an intern.' I am NOT an intern! She didn't even look at me! She was too focused on that tacky dress! I can't believe I wanted to be like her!" Pollen popped up from her purse, smiling sadly.
"Everything will be fine, My Queen," reassured the Bee Kwami. "If she cannot respect you then she does not deserve your respect." Chloe took a deep breath, trying to deal with her emotions. She couldn't contain her anger, however, as she kicked a can into an alleyway. She froze as she heard a cry of pain followed by the clattering of the can.
She looked down the way, watching as a boy around her age popped up from where he had been reaching into something. He had a pale complexion, spiky red hair tied in a low ponytail, and red eyes. He wore a long black coat with a high collar over a black top, black pants, black boots with bronze clasps, a pair of yellow spiral goggles on top of his head, a strange metallic backpack, and black fingerless gloves. His lab coat looked torn and stained, the right sleeve gone. The tall boy growled as he picked up a wooden staff with a monkey carving on top, growling as he looked around.
"Alright, who's the wise guy!?" cried the boy. "If I had my tablet I'd call my Jackbots and…" Chloe tilted her head, looking slightly confused as the boy looked her way. Her eyes widened as he turned her way, seeing the image of a smaller boy with similar features take his place for a split second. She straightened her figure as she squinted her eyes a bit.
"Jack?" questioned the blonde. "Jack Spicer?" The boy reared his head back a bit, looking a bit shocked as he had a similar moment with her.
"C…CHLOE!?" He immediately began brushing himself off, trying to furiously scrape the stains off his lab coat before trying to look profound with his staff in hand. "Well if it isn't the queen of DuPont herself. What's it been, ten years?" Chloe frowned at this, crossing her arms under her chest.
"Jack, what are you doing? Sitting around in an alleyway with a walking stick doesn't suit you." Jack looked away, letting loose a huff.
"N…nothing! I'm just… practicing community service to make fun of criminals. I'm still the big bad genius that's gonna rule the world someday. I…" The blonde shook her head, her arms still crossed.
"Jack, you're still terrible at lying. You're even trying to put on a show about it like when we were kids." The redhead's expression faltered, a huff escaping his throat.
"Fine. I dropped my tablet in a storm drain and I can't get it out. I have to work with heavy machinery so my arms are too thick. I'd try using a tool but I'm worried about losing the tablet. I could probably get the drain open with some tools and…"
Chloe pushed the boy back slightly, shocking him as she actually lowered down and reached into the grate. She felt disgusted by the sliminess from a recent storm, quickly finding a metallic surface with a screen. The girl carefully pulled it out, quickly noting how the same substance that was on Jack's coat was now on her jacket.
"Well now I know where that gunk on you came from. Here." Jack slowly took the device, looking her up and down. "What?" The boy shook his head as he quickly regained his focus.
"You're actually Chloe, right? You just reached in no questions asked and ruined that jacket. There's no telling what yuck is down there. You couldn't even touch a frog when you were little." Chloe sighed as she shook her head.
"Well I grew up and I'm not really in the mood to have an aversion to gross things right now. Also, I'd like to think we're still friends after your family moved away. I'll admit that I had a bad time in my life where I wouldn't help others but I'm trying to be better." Jack looked towards the ground at this, his hands clenched. He sighed as his eyes narrowed.
"Friends, huh? Evil doesn't have any friends." The genius immediately shook his head, looking towards Chloe again. "Do you… wanna talk more? We'll have to clean up a bit beforehand but after that we could go for a bite to eat or something."
The blonde slowly smiled as the redhead rubbed the back of his head. "I mean, I understand if you don't wanna hang out with pure genius such as myself. Not a lot of people can keep up. You're good company though so I thought…" Chloe rolled her eyes before nodding her head.
"I could use some company while on this coffee run. You gloat a lot but you're not bad company either." She began pulling Jack along, the genius shocked by the gesture. It was clear that he was expecting her to turn him down as they made their way towards the public restrooms. Jack took off his black lab coat as he washed his arms off, taking a moment to look at his reflection.
'You are a failure and a fool!' roared the voice of a memory in his head. 'You can't do anything right!' The genius took a deep breath, trying to deal with the annoying voice.
"I'll show you," growled the genius. "I'll find this Wu by myself." He used an air dryer to dry himself off before making his way out of the restroom.
Meanwhile
Within a fish cannery, machines and employees were hard at work preparing their products for shipment. One of the men noticed a rather fat looking fish, inspecting it as he felt something hard in its gullet. He was about to inspect it further when the shift whistle chimed out. He licked his lips at the call of lunch, deciding to just put the fish back on the belt as he left for the break room. The animal was packaged in a freezer box, being added to one of the stacks.
As soon as one of the trucks was loaded up, one of the walls burst open. An evil cackling was heard as the dust began to settle, a small purple specter wearing a white and red mask with yellow eyes floating into view. She looked around, a wicked grin on the mask.
"It's here!" cried the spirit. "The Shen Gong Wu is here!" The group of workers looked frightened by the presence of an actual ghost. That fear grew as five individuals made their way into the building. They stepped into view, the smallest of them popping up first.
He was a short man with black eyes and pale skin. He wore a Spartan silver combat helmet with red lines descending from the eyeholes, a forest green full bodysuit with gray boot-bottoms and gray electronic devices on it, and a gray pack that was attached to the back of the suit. He was followed by a massive man with tan skin, white eyes, and long red hair. The bigger man wore a black bodysuit that lacked sleeves, having gold detailing on the shoulders and underarms that ran down to his chest. He pounded his fist into his palm, showing off his gold colored bracelets.
The next person to step out of the dust was a man with dark skin and a singular, huge green eye. He wore a white unitard with a black and teal eye logo on the front, teal gloves that had light green wrist ruffles, teal boots, and a teal helmet that protected everything but his lower jaw and his huge eye. He was followed by a man with tan skin, black glasses obscuring his eyes. He wore a red full bodysuit with a red hood and a white logo depicting a black division sign on it, his jaw and mouth being the only part of his skin that was visible. The group was complete by a blue skinned man with red eyes wearing a black cowl with a black cape that had a purple underside and circular silver pin near the chest area, a lavender unitard, black gloves, black boots, and silver belt.
These were the HIVE Five: a group consisting of Gizmo, Mammoth, See-More, Billy Numerous, and Kyd Wykkyd in that order. They were the most recurring enemies of the Titans' rogues' gallery, having been their enemies since the beginning of the hero team's creation. Gizmo huffed as he looked around.
"Wouldn't a magical relic be somewhere more fitting, like a museum?" questioned the young man. "You sure you didn't lose a screw or something, Who-Ha?" The specter growled as she looked towards the current leader of the team.
"It's Wuya, not Who-Ha! My senses for Shen Gong Wu are never wrong!" The bald kid groaned as he rolled his eyes.
"Whatever. HIVE Five, spread out and find that relic!" The group spread out, trying to tear through the place to find the Shen Gong Wu. Workers ran away as quickly as possible, a few guards trying to fire on the group. Mammoth picked up one of the conveyor belts, hurling it at the men to get them to disperse.
"I found it!" cried a voice. The villains looked towards See-More, watching as he pointed towards the truck. "There's a fat looking fish in the truck, like it swallowed something whole. It's in the-" The man stopped in his tracks as a bird-arang crashed into his helmet and unleashed a gas that knocked him unconscious. The Titans lowered into view, Nightwing landing with a glare.
"That's far enough," growled the leader of the Titans. "The only place you five are going is a jail cell." Billy Numerous scoffed at the arrival, slowly walking backwards.
"Of course the Titans show up," growled the multiplicative man. "Can't you guys take a holiday or something?" Raven narrowed her eyes at the group, specifically eyeing Wuya.
"They have a spirit with them," stated the gray skinned girl. "I'll focus on trying to banish it back to the world of spirits." The spirit growled as her mask made an enraged expression.
"IT!?" cried Wuya. "I am a powerful Heylin SorcerESS! Not a lowly, formless spirit! GET THEM!" Gizmo growled at this, shaking his head.
"I'm the one in charge here!" cried the man. He pointed towards the heroes with a growl. "Hive Five, attack formation delta!" Mammoth pounded his fists with a grin, ready for action as he ran forward first. Nightwing growled as he readied his staff.
"Titans, GO!" ordered the Batclan hero. Beastboy turned into an actual mammoth as he charged forward, smacking the big guy away with his trunk. Starfire flew at Billy Numerous, the man duplicating himself in order to dodge before jumping away. Kyd Wykkyd warped out of the way of a birdarang, appearing again as he began a push battle over Nightwing's staff. Cyborg suddenly punched Gizmo in the gut, sending him flying backwards a bit before mechanical spider limbs caught the helmed man.
"My tech just got an update recently, so you won't be punking my body anytime soon," huffed Cyborg. "Time to put you back behind bars." The man prepared a sonic canon, Gizmo smiling as he remained still.
"Doesn't matter what you shoot at me now, Bolts for Brains!" cried the villain leader. "I've got a new trick up my sleeves." The robot man fired at the short villain, watching as his helmet glowed. "Wushu Helmet!" The energy from the object formed all over Gizmo, catching the attack before sending it right back.
"Ah crap!" Victor dodged his own attack, jumping away as his opponent fired at him with an energy rifle. Gizmo laughed maniacally as he began to chase down his opponent. Billy Numerous continued to split as he dodged attack after attack from Starfire. The duplicates soon reached their limit, grinning as they readied themselves.
"Get her!" cried two of the copies. They jumped on top of the Tamaranian, trying to pin her down with their weight. "Someone get a rope and bind her legs and arms! Gotta hurry before." A green light shined from the pile of clones, the villain crying out in pain as all of his duplicates were flung back by an energy wave.
"I am not to be trifled with!" cried Starfire. She crashed into each duplicate, eventually pushing them together to where they were fused once more. She then carefully bent a metal bar around him, restricting him to where he couldn't break out. "I will release you for the authorities to cuff later." She then looked towards where Beastboy was fighting, watching as a jaguar leapt at Mammoth.
The shapeshifting hero slashed at the large man, Mammoth backing away quickly to avoid the attack. Garfield then turned into a bear, striking the big guy in the chest. He finally shifted into an ankylosaurus, swinging his tail around as the big guy grinned.
"Mantis Flip Coin!" roared Mammoth. A red ornate coin with gold markings glowed in his hand, allowing him to jump over the large creature and actually land a good distance away from him. Beastboy looked bewildered by this before transforming into a Utahraptor, rushing the big man before turning into a T-Rex as he jumped. The villain leapt away again, the dinosaur crashing where he once was. The hero let loose a roar as he looked towards the villain, only to gag as the villain used his increased jumping power to crash straight into him and send him falling over.
Beastboy returned to normal as he curled up, grabbing his gut as Mammoth stood over him. "This is gonna be fun. Let's see how much you can take before-" The villain found himself crashing into the nearby wall, the coin that he held dropping onto the floor as Starfire floated above Beastboy. She picked up the magical object before helping Beastboy to his feet.
"Are you alright, Beastboy? That attack did not look pleasant." Garfield heaved a bit as he nodded his head.
"Yeah," sighed the green hero. "I just need Rae to hit me with a healing spell or something." Starfire nodded her head, picking up the boy before flying away. She watched the battle go on, Cyborg still trying to find a way past Gizmo's magical defenses. Rachel could be seen staring down the spirit, her eyes narrowing.
"You're giving off dark energy," stated the dark hero. "Given that you're a member of the Heylin, I'm not too surprised. I've read up on as many magical orders as I could in order to separate the good from the bad. I definitely wouldn't call your order one of the good ones." Wuya growled at this, floating with a hiss.
"You think you have a right to place judgment upon me!?" roared the spirit. "I know what you are! A demon spawn who plays hero? HA!" Raven frowned at this, forming her magic in her hands.
"I'm not playing. I left my father behind me years ago. AZARATH METRION ZINTHOS!" She tried to nab the spirit, only for said villain to fly into the unconscious See-More. The man slowly stood up, the villainess's mask displaying under his helmet as the eye turned purple.
She fired the beam at Raven, the girl floating out of the way as her opponent laughed maniacally. Nightwing finally kicked off his opponent, spinning his staff as he readied for combat. Kyd Wykkyd pulled a baton with two bear head carvings on each side out from behind him, holding it with both hands.
"Bear Baton!" roared the gray skinned boy. His body began to grow in size as the baton was shoved back in its hidden spot. The man became more bear-like as he tried to slash at Dick with razor sharp claws, the hero dodging out of the way. The group continued to battle, Starfire carrying Beastboy as she flew above the chaos. The Tamaranian hummed as she looked towards the truck, watching as two individuals approached the truck.
Both teens wore red robes, black belts, and black shoes. The taller of the two was rather bulky, having pale skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair. In addition to the rest of his attire, he wore black gi pants and a brown cowboy hat with a blue band. The smaller of the duo looked like he had a cheeseball for a head, his skin being bright yellow as his bald head was almost completely spherical. The boy completed his appearance with a pair of black gi pants, the boy sneaking into the driver's seat of the truck.
"Um… Nightwing," stated Starfire. The leader looked back as the truck suddenly powered on, all of the fighters looking that way in the midst of combat. The buff teen looked back at the group, the vehicle beginning to drive off.
"CLAY!" cried the boy in the driver's seat. "I KICKED IN THE PEDAL THAT MAKES IT GO AND NOW IT WILL NOT UN-GO!" The cowboy jumped on the back of the vehicle as it began to drive off, Wuya growling in anger.
"The Xiaolin Monks!" cried the villainess. "STOP THAT TRUCK!" The woman made See-more's body fire his laser in a long arc that forced the heroes to dodge, Kyd Wykkyd and Gizmo following after her. Starfire lowered with Beastboy in her grasp, Raven flying over as the alien laid the green boy on the ground. Nightwing growled as he clenched his fists.
"Cyborg, Star!" began the man. "With me! We have to stop that truck!"
Elsewhere
Jack Spicer never thought he would enjoy a distraction from his primary objective as much as he did at the very moment. He and Chloe had found the damage to their jackets to be irreparable, forced to scrap them. This led to them looking like the normal civilian populace, the boy actually liking the lack of stares sent his way. The more time Jack spent around Chloe, the more he felt like he was in his younger years. Back then, he had not been so focused on world domination and more on the smaller things in life aside from his love of inventing.
His mind was brought back to the incident that caused some shade to be sent towards the early DuPont high school, the very reason his parents moved to another location aside from better business opportunities. It was when he thought about the moment before his departure that he let his mind return to his current conversation. He and Chloe were sitting in the coffee shop, having their own drinks while waiting for Audrey's order to be finished. Chloe had been in the midst of telling him about the situation in Paris, one that had his attention until she mentioned the old school. The teen boy held up his hands as he made pausing noises.
"Hold the phone!" cried Jack. "You mean to tell me that for the longest time this 'Hawkmoth' guy who used to go by 'Papillion', which is just French for 'Butterfly', has been trying to take these Miracle things from a bunch of kids? He has the power to give anyone that's emotionally distressed enough into a powerful supervillain… and he keeps botching it up with choosing a toddler and some guy whose evilized power is controlling pigeons? Can someone take his villain card and tear it in half because that's kiddie cartoon villain levels of dumb." Chloe snorted at the genius's criticism, shaking her head.
"Trust me," reassured the girl. "Hawkmoth can make some rather dangerous Akumas. One of them even flooded all of Paris. With how smart you are, I wouldn't want to see what you'd look like as an Akuma." Jack looked away, a small frown on his face.
"Not like I'm used to being some villain's puppet or anything. So much for the evil genius Jack Spicer." The boy immediately shook his head again as he looked towards the blonde. "That does sound crazy. That's some end of the world level stuff." Chloe sent Jack a concerned frown, deciding to modify the usual Akuma avoidance training.
"Jack, are you okay? You've been frowning a lot and I can tell you're distracted. I know it's been years since we've seen each other, but I'm always happy to talk if you need it." She watched the genius's eyes, noticing how he glanced away from her. The redhead sounded his dismissal as he shook his head.
"Nah! I'm fine. Besides, you have enough on your plate with your mom going nutso. I could make something real quick to prank her with if you want." Chloe took a deep breath, looking the guy in the eye.
"Jack, please. You can talk with me about anything at all, even if we need to go somewhere just the two of us." Jack looked down as he crossed his arms, letting loose a sigh.
"It's funny, really. You're still the same girl I knew but you've also changed so much. Still confident, still snarky, still caring when you want to be… But now you're really considerate, less bothered by gross stuff, and your cuteness turned into beauty… Forget I said that last part."
The redhead slapped his cheeks to make his embarrassed blush go down before he cleared his throat. "Anyway, you've grown into a good girl with a level of sass I can admire. Me? I'm just some inventing weirdo that can't seem to win when it counts." Chloe immediately shook her head, a frown on her face.
"Jack, you are not a loser. You're a good guy who has amazing ideas, even back when we were little." Jack looked down again, unfurling his arms.
"Chloe, I'm not good. In fact… I've bounced around as a lackey to villains for a few years now. You talking about magical relics actually reminded me of what secret war I found myself in. I ran fetch quests for powerful relics and made robots meant to hurt people."
The genius held his head in his hands, questioning why he was even sharing any of this. "Heck, I hunted the Shen Gong Wu down myself to try and take over the world. If I didn't listen to that stupid ghost witch Wuya, maybe the Avengers or the Justice League would have kicked my butt long before I got this far. I was actually in the middle of hunting one down by myself after Wuya left me for being useless… and that's when I met you: growing up and actually having a life while I'm here chasing a pipe dream and being a laughing stock." Chloe blinked a few times, leaning forward with a shocked look.
"Jack, you could have done so much with your life. You have amazing talent and the ability to accomplish anything you set your mind to. With all the things you made while we were young, you were set to become the next Tony Stark or Reed Richards. What happened to you?" Jack looked hesitant to answer, only to let his hands lower to the table.
"Do…do you remember the promise I made to you when we were little? I promised you that I would make it where the next time we met we wouldn't have to be apart again, even if I had to change the world to make it happen. I know it's childish, but I set my mind to making that promise happen. I just… lost my way along the way and became the bad guy. Even when I set that aside and try to be the good guy, I still suck at it."
The boy placed a hand on his monkey cane, bringing it up to display. "After some weirdos in tights were sent by Wuya to take my Wu, this is all I have left of them. All it can do is make me more like a monkey, to the point where I actually become one. I try to act like I'm some bigshot but… I'm just some loser who lives in his parents' basement and tries to take over the world." The boy was about to excuse himself, only for Chloe to take his free hand in both of her own.
"Not long after you left, a lot of my good traits went out the window. I became a little terror, a rich Daddy's Girl with a superiority complex. I broke off my friendship with Marinette, I bullied a lot of kids into leaving school, and I even latched onto Adrien to try and make him into my boyfriend. I even caused more Akuma attacks than anyone else, not even caring that I was the one at fault."
The blonde's hands trembled a bit, shocking Jack as he saw the look in her eyes. "I only became this way in the past year because of another incident in DuPont. You wouldn't have liked the girl I became because that wasn't the girl you made your promise to. I was disgusting, utterly disgusting. If it weren't for Lila, the girl you sold a camera controlling remote to, I would be the second biggest monster in Paris behind Hawkmoth."
Jack looked away again, unsure how true her words about not liking her would have been. "The point is, we all lose our way from time to time. You hurt people physically while I terrorized people emotionally. I found my way to be a better person, so I really think you can too. I mean, look at you."
Chloe finally moved one of her hands as she gestured to the genius, a small smile on her face. "You have a brilliant mind to rival many people, you can build things that sound like they come straight from science fiction, and you have the charisma and bravery to head out into the world and make a name for yourself. That cute little boy that kept saying he was going to steal me away from the world has grown up into a rather capable and handsome young man. If you still want to change the world, then do it the way you do best instead of trying to be some dumb old supervillain. You're capable of so much, and I honestly think this Who-Ha lady doesn't know what she's talking about."
Jack looked the girl in the eye, seeing a spark light in them that he hadn't seen in many years. He felt an old instinct begin guiding him as he leaned forward a bit. Chloe didn't seem bothered, actually smiling at the motion. The boy nearly reached his target when his tablet began to go crazy, a beeping noise sounding from it. He suddenly became concerned as the sound grew faster and faster, pulling the device out as he looked it over.
"The tracker's picking up the Wu. In fact… it's getting too close way too fast. It's heading right for- GET DOWN!" Jack reached for Chloe, pulling her to the ground with him as a truck suddenly crashed into the front of the shop.
People ran to get out of the way, being ushered through the back of the establishment as the horn of the truck honked. The vehicle screeched to a halt as it crashed into the bar of the shop, Jack keeping his arm over Chloe as he looked around. "That was too close. Are you alright?" The blonde nodded towards him, the door to the truck opening as the bald yellow boy fell out with what looked like a green and yellow snake coiled on the back of his head.
"Slathered in," moaned the monk. The serpentine creature uncoiled, revealing itself to be a miniature dragon. The creature looked around, a dizzy look on his face.
"You mean 'Wipe Out', Omi," moaned the dragon. He then burped as he fell off the boy. Jack grabbed his staff as he growled, his eyes narrowing on the duo.
"ARE YOU TWO CRAZY!?" roared the genius. "You nearly killed everyone in the building!" Omi slowly rose, heaving from where he almost threw up.
"Ja- BURP!- Jack Spicer!" roared the bald boy. "You will not use the Shen Gong Wu for your evil purposes! I will be unleashing the butt kicking upon you!... After a nap." The boy fell backwards, huffing from the impact.
Jack was about to comment on the event when Clay was sent flying through the wall. Jack immediately ushered Chloe away, only for the door to be blasted shut by a laser. A painfully familiar voice laughed mockingly, Jack slowly turning around as Wuya used See-More to walk into the room.
"Well, well, well," chuckled the villainess. "If it isn't the little failure, Jack Spicer. I see you managed to sneak the Monkey Staff away from my new 'business partners'. Once I get my hands on this Shen Gong Wu, you'll be giving it directly to me." The boy gripped the staff in his hand tightly, keeping himself between his old companion and Chloe.
Starfire suddenly crashed through the building, grabbing See-More and trying to knock him out again. Wuya took the chance to elbow the girl in the chest before firing a laser to make her fly backwards. Jack took advantage of the opportunity as he grabbed Chloe by the hand.
"Come on!" cried the redhead. He pulled the girl along, rushing out of the entrance hole as a blue laser crashed into the back of the truck. Gizmo laughed as Cyborg rolled out of the way of one of his mechanical limbs, chasing him down with the Wushu helmet on his head.
"It's no use, Bolt Head!" insulted the short man. "The Wushu Helmet diverts all attacks! You'll never be able to hit me now!" The tech enemies continued their little chase as Nightwing tried to choke out the transformed Kyd Wykkyd with his staff. Wuya used See-More to crawl into the back of the truck, tearing through one of the fish packets to retrieve the fish with the large belly. Jack growled at this, glancing back at Chloe.
"Chlo, get out of here!" cried the redhead. "Now!" He spun his staff around as he prepared for an attack. "MONKEY STAFF!" As soon as the complete cry left his lips, his body began to slowly morph into that of a monkey before he leapt into the air.
Wuya used See-More's laser to cut open the gut of the fish, revealing a blue pyramid-like object with yellow detailing and symbols. She pulled it out, cackling as she marveled over it. She made her captive jump out of the truck, holding the object high in the air.
"BEHOLD, FOOLISH CHILDREN!" cried the villainess. "With the Indigo Pyramid in my grasp, you will all serve me! It has the power to change the mind of any that oppose me! A warrior of peace could become an instrument of chaos in mere moments! Now, to make an example!"
She looked towards Starfire, the girl looking ready to attack at any moment. Wuya was about to use the Wu in her hands, only for it to be batted away by the Monkey Staff. "No! Get the-" Jack smacked See-More across the face with his foot, Wuya feeling the same pain as the boy then flipped the man onto the ground.
"Don't attack! Dodge his attacks and grab the helmet! If you aren't attacking, it can't deflect you!" Cyborg narrowed his eyes, suddenly turning around. Gizmo actually skidded to a stop with an annoyed look on his face.
"A snot rockets," growled the short man. Victor leapt at the man before he could use his pack to fly away, grabbing the back of the machine as he yanked the helmet off him. With a single punch, Gizmo fell to the ground unconscious. Jack leapt back as Wuya tried to use See-More's laser to burn him in half, the boy rolling away as he let loose monkey hoots. She then fired the same attack at Nightwing, forcing him to jump off Kyd Wykkyd.
"TEAR HIM APART!" cried the villainess. The currently bear-like villain growled as he ran towards the genius, Jack leaping over him and smacking him in the rear with his Monkey Staff. Wuya smiled at the extra distraction, turning around. "And now to claim my- WHERE IS IT!?"
She looked over where she had seen the Indigo Pyramid fall, growling in anger until she heard a buzzing noise. She looked to her right as Honey Bee kicked See-More in the face, sending him and his possessor flying backwards. The bee-themed hero smirked as she waved the desired object in front of the villainess.
"Looking for this?" questioned Chloe. "If you want it, come and get it Hag." Wuya growled in anger at this, firing See-More's eye beam once again. The villainess was then hit from the side by Starfire, See-More sprawling against the ground as he almost woke up. Cyborg ripped the pack off of Gizmo's back before running over to help Starfire with Wuya.
Jack continued to dodge Kyd Wykkyd's attacks, trying to get behind his cape to reach the Bear Baton behind him. The boy began to act more and more monkey-like, wrapping his tail around the man's arm as he hung off it at one point. He suddenly felt a need to drop to the ground, avoiding the removal of his tail as his enemy slashed at open air. This also allowed him to dodge a birdarang that cut into Kyd Wykkyd's cape, the man roaring in anger before Nightwing slammed his staff into the side of his head. Jack went in for the attack, grabbing the Bear Baton from behind the villain.
Kyd Wykkyd was forced to return to normal as he growled, grabbing the stuck batarang from his cape as he went for a stab at Jack. Honey Bee growled as she flew over, her arm reared back. She took the blade to the arm as she hissed in pain.
"VENOM!" cried the blonde. She stabbed a massive bee-stinger gauntlet against the body of the villain, leaving him temporarily paralyzed. The girl yanked the weapon out of her shoulder as she gasped, holding the wounded area. "Are you alright?" She looked back at Jack, noticing how he seemed to be examining her.
Soon her miraculous began beeping, forcing her to sigh as she tossed the Indigo Pyramid at Jack. "Keep that safe." She then flew away, leaving the redhead to look down at the powerful relic. He felt an old instinct begin to take over him, only for the boy to growl as he shook his head. He passed the object to Nightwing before taking off himself, running the same way that Honey Bee ran.
"YOU IDIOTS!" cried the voice of Wuya. The spirit flew out of See-More's body, growling in utter anger. "I AM SURROUNDED BY FOOLS! GET UP AND FIGHT!" Nightwing hid the Indigo Pyramid away as he quickly pulled out one of the ghost traps.
"You're going away for a long afterlife," growled the team leader. He threw the trap below Wuya, trying to pull her in like other ghosts. The woman cried out in fear, finding herself unable to escape as she was dragged into the object. Her roars of fury could be heard inside, the meter on the side filling up three tenths of the way. "After Raven looks her over, I'm sending her to Titans Dark for analysis."
Dick hummed as he nodded his head, reaching for his communicator. "Speaking of…" He pulled the device out, activating it. "Raven, Honey Bee decided to visit and was injured by Kyd Wykkyd. Follow the signature of her Miraculous and provide healing as soon as you're done with Beastboy." He looked towards the screen as the gray skinned girl nodded her head.
"I'm already finished," informed Raven. "He's enroute to help if needed. I'll head out immediately." Dick nodded his head, deactivating the device as he heard a battle cry. Omi jumped out of the building, looking ready for combat.
"Jack Spicer!" cried the yellow monk. He held a medium sized orb out, appearing to be ready to use it. "You will relinquish your Shen Gong Wu or face a serious… Where did he go?" Nightwing immediately stood over the boy, shoving the Indigo Pyramid into his utility belt.
"I think you'll be a little busy, young man," stated the Titan. Omi looked up at the man, frowning in annoyance. "You committed grand theft auto, property damage, and nearly killed everyone in that building. We need to have a little chat before letting the police get involved." Omi blinked multiple times, looking rather concerned by the reveal.
Jack ran through the city, moving through different spots and swinging across certain spaces. He eventually reached a secluded spot, dropping the Monkey Staff on the ground to where he would turn back to normal. He sighed as he picked the relic up again, looking it over.
"I… I actually said no to a Shen Gong Wu," began the genius. "I could have changed the minds of those heroes to make them into my personal slaves, but I didn't." He smiled as he looked up, rubbing the back of his head. "Dang. Chloe still messes with my head, even after being apart this long."
He sighed as he looked towards a nearby window, seeing his reflection in it. "Maybe…maybe I can give this a try, at least for a little bit." A sound suddenly caught his attention, a beeping noise that was so subtle he almost missed it. He slowly approached the noise, watching as Honey Bee rested against a wall. The girl sighed as she lowered into a sitting position, hissing as she felt her pained shoulder.
"Pollen: Buzz Off," ordered the blonde. She deactivated the Miraculous, Jack's eyes widening as she transformed back into Chloe before his very eyes. Pollen rested in her free hand as she chuckled. "I guess I should have expected to be injured when there's no Miraculous Cure to fix the problem." Pollen bowed her head apologetically, only for Jack to accidentally kick a can while trying to back away.
The boy stood frozen in place, watching as the girl looked toward him with wide eyes. "Jack? You…you weren't supposed to see this." The redhead narrowed his eyes as he looked her over, noticing how her shirt began to turn red. He pulled out his tablet as he began typing into it.
"Jackbots, bring first aid equipment here stat. Also, grab one of my shirts and bring it here." The boy put the device away as he approached Chloe, looking down at her. "Remove your hand so that I can apply better pressure."
The French girl looked the boy in the eye for a bit before doing as requested. She hissed as she felt the pressure against her shoulder, not exactly thrilled by it. "So, you're one of those Miracle people. It actually makes a lot of sense, now that I really think about it. Still, that was pretty dumb of you to take that hit for me." Chloe huffed at the boy, her eyes narrowing.
"Don't be ridiculous. I can't just sit by and let one of my friends be hurt, especially not you." Jack rolled his eyes, grumbling under his breath a bit.
"Well you could have at least kicked him or grabbed his arm instead of letting him stab you. He could have hit somewhere much worse than your shoulder. I swear, between this and the old DuPont incident, you're always getting yourself in these kinds of situations. I can't leave you alone for five minutes. If I had it my way you'd be a lot safer."
A brown and black robot that looked like a human torso attached to a hovering device lowered next to the duo, its red eyes awaiting orders as it held the requested kit in one hand and a black shirt in the other. "Right. I need to get access to the wound area so I can tend to it. If you're not comfortable with it then I can get you to a hospital." Chloe sighed as she shook her head, looking down at her ruined shirt.
"Daddy would never let me go anywhere again if I went to the hospital. Just please don't make this weird." Jack let go of her shoulder to retrieve the medical kit, only to blush madly as the girl removed her shirt. Her black bra was on full display until she crossed her arms in front of it, trying to keep some form of modesty. The redheaded boy stomped on his own foot to push himself into action, kneeling down again as he opened the kit.
He began dressing the wound, hoping that he could do a good enough job to where he could find something to help with the damage. He also did his best to ignore the view he had, thankful that he could work well under pressure. Pollen flew up to his shoulder, sitting down on it as she watched over his work.
"Greetings, Jack," greeted the Bee Kwami. "As you undoubtedly heard, my name is Pollen." The boy nodded his head as he sighed.
"Yeah, I heard," stated Jack. "I guess I can thank you for being there for Chlo. Someone needs to keep track of her. She can be a little headstrong and stubborn sometimes." Chloe hissed from the feeling of the needle working through the numbing of the applied medicine.
"Hey!" cried the blonde. "I was trying to save your life, Tomato Head." Jack chuckled at this, shaking his head.
"Still with the nickname, eh? Well in doing so you almost lost yours. Do you realize how much it'd hurt if I lost you? I became a supervillain hellbent on world domination for you, and you think I'd want you to give yourself up like that to try and save me? You keep making me change what I want but losing you will never be one of them."
The redhead suddenly looked away, his blush growing stronger as he huffed. "D-don't read too much into that." The sound of someone clearing their throat caught the duo's attention, causing them to look up as Raven floated down.
"I can take it from here," stated the magical girl. Jack finished what work he was able to do before raising his hands as he took a few steps back. Pollen flew over to be on Chloe's good shoulder as Raven began using her magic to heal her holder's shoulder. "You did a good job, actually. It makes the process a lot easier and less painful."
Chloe gritted her teeth for a bit as the magic affected her body, only to sigh as her wound began to close. Raven nodded her head as she smiled softly, watching a red line of skin be all that remained. "There. The skin will need a bit of time to return to normal but you're healed." Jack snapped his fingers in order to get his robot's attention.
"Jackbot, give Chloe the shirt. She's a priority level 'above me' ally. Identify that call code as someone who's safety is of higher concern than mine." The machine took time to process this before floating over to the blonde, holding the black shirt out to her. Chloe slowly stood up as she slid on the gift, watching as it hung baggily off her.
She looked towards Jack as he shook his head. "I'll buy you something new before I take you back to your mom. I wouldn't want people to get the wrong idea. Anyway, I think I know what's coming next." Raven turned around as the boy picked up the Monkey Staff, looking it over one last time.
The redhead turned back around as he reluctantly held out the relic. "I know I can't run from an actual superhero and my Jackbots would just be annihilated. All I can say is that it was fun while it lasted." Raven looked over the Wu, slowly holding it in her hands. She closed her eyes as the gemstone in her forehead glowed slightly.
"The Monkey Staff… I can feel the chi within it. The Xiaolin Monk that created it embodied mischief, ingenuity, and loyalty. Every Shen Gong Wu has a living piece of its maker inside it, a spirit that is rather picky. I cannot accept this Wu."
Jack looked beyond shocked as the magical girl handed the relic back to him. "For now, it favors you. If you become a threat I will take it from you, but the Wu chooses the master for a reason. Consider this a bridge of trust, as Nightwing likes to call it." The redhead looked over the staff, surprised by the revelation as Raven's communicator went off.
"Raven, this is Nightwing," informed the voice on the other side. "The Hive Five are in police custody and we're bringing the Xiaolin Monks in for a much needed conversation. The little guy said that the unidentified fighter is a hostile. He was last seen heading the same way Honey Bee took off in." Raven brought the T-Communicator into view, shaking her head in denial.
"For now, he's not a threat. I'll take full responsibility if I turn out to be wrong. I'm on my way. Raven out." The magical girl cut off the connection before leaving the area through a black portal.
Jack quickly shook his head as he looked up from the Shen Gong Wu in his hands. He noticed the way Chloe was smiling at him, knowing the look all too well. He couldn't help but smirk as he nodded his head.
"Come on," gestured the boy. "You can play the 'I told you so' game after we get you something better than my shirt to wear. If your mom causes a stink, just leave it to me." Jack carefully held out his arm, creating a familiar scene for Chloe as she saw a younger version of him doing the same pose when offering to push her on the swings. The girl smiled as she took the arm, happily walking beside him as he guided her through the streets.
The duo would be rather surprised how easy it was to explain Chloe's situation as the result of a villain attack in the city, most people not even batting an eye. Jack found himself being made to be a pack mule the entire shopping experience, though he would soon find it to be rather worth it as he was practically given a show by his longtime companion. The variety of outfits she tried on were well beyond what she had before, including a swimsuit that made the redhead nervous and excited. She would take pictures of any outfit that got a certain reaction, creating a small album on her phone.
"This is the last one, I promise!" cried the voice of Chloe. "Maybe you can find a jacket or something to wear for a bit." Jack rolled his eyes with a smile, thankful that she was finally reaching the end. He decided to look over in the men's jacket area, humming as he combed through the selection. He eventually stopped on a dark brown leather jacket with white fluff on the inside, humming as he took it off the rack.
The boy also grabbed a new black shirt to put on, bringing the attire together with some light black jeans and brown combat boots. He took off his goggles, noticing how they had been smashed in the fight. He sighed as he shook his head, gripping the eyewear tightly.
"Great. I actually really liked these." The door to the changing room opened, Chloe stepping out. Jack's jaw nearly fell out of socket as the girl was wearing a black jacket, a yellow undershirt with black striping, light black designer jeans, and a pair of black heels. The girl smirked as she nodded her head.
"I think I really like this one. Black kinda suits me, don't you think?" The redheaded genius gulped, slowly nodding his head.
"Hot… I mean you look great… I MEAN-!" Chloe giggled as Jack became flustered, hiding her mouth in her hands. She then looked him up and down, holding her chin as she hummed.
"Why thank you. You look rather nice as well." She then frowned as she noticed his goggles, releasing her chin as she slowly took them from him. "I don't suppose you can fix these, huh?" Jack took a deep breath to push his embarrassment down before nodding his head.
"In all honesty it's probably time I retired them. They kinda represent the evil genius I tried to be. Now I'm not entirely sure what I am, other than an inventor with an army of robots. Maybe I can work something out with that." Chloe smiled softly at this, watching the boy take the items back as he threw them in a newly cleaned bin.
She waited until he was not looking to stuff them in her bag, having a few ideas in mind. Jack wouldn't take no for an answer when he paid for everything, saying that he'd just have to explain everything to his mother. Speaking of, Chloe began preparing herself for the verbal lashing she would receive when she returned to her own mother. She knew that she was probably going to be 'fired' for not bringing in the coffee she ordered and being gone for a long time. She slowly walked into the office, a coffee in her hand as she heard her mother growl.
"WHERE IS THAT INTERN!?" roared Audrey Bourgeois. "This is unacceptable, utterly unacceptable!" Chloe decided to rip off the bandage as she cleared her throat, earning her mother's glare.
"The coffee shop you mentioned was recently destroyed by a villain attack," informed the girl. "I had to look everywhere to find a suitable replacement and it is ridiculous how few coffee places with good ratings there are in this city." The girl winced as her mother forcefully took the cup, sipping the drink as it was fresh and hot. She frowned as the woman didn't exactly look satisfied. Audrey growled as she pulled the cup away from her mouth, glaring at Chloe again.
"First you repeatedly bring me the wrong colored spools. Then you take an hour to do a simple task such as bringing me coffee. Now you bring me this mediocre coffee. Why did that oaf send me such an inexperienced intern." Chloe's brow twitched, a growl escaping her throat.
"That 'oaf' is my daddy AND your husband. Also, I'm not your intern: I'm your daughter." Audrey huffed as she looked away, placing the coffee on the nearby table as she turned around.
"Clearly he made a mistake then. I needed an intern after I fired the last one, not some incompetent little girl." The hidden hero growled again, her patience finally snapping as she clenched her fists.
"You know, I actually thought you wanted to see me when Daddy sent me here. I wanted to be like you growing up, especially since I lost two of the only real friends I had. Now I see you for what you really are: a tacky witch that clearly can't tell when two colors don't go together. That orange with that blue is the tackiest, most uninspired thing I have ever seen and it looks atrocious." The atmosphere in the office became very stiff, Audrey huffing as she turned around.
"You clearly know nothing about fashion. Just go play with your crayons like a good little girl, Moey. I-" Chloe stomped her foot, causing the cup of coffee to fall off the table and spew onto the floor. She screamed through her teeth as she narrowed her eyes.
"I AM NOT A FOUR YEAR OLD! I AM A GROWING YOUNG WOMAN AND I'M TIRED OF BEING TREATED LIKE A CHILD! ALSO, GET MY NAME RIGHT! IT'S NOT MOEY, OR DOEY, OR GOEY: IT'S CHLOE! I SICK AND TIRED OF BEING TREATED LIKE A CHILD OR FLAT OUT IGNORED!"
The employees backed away, some looking like they wanted to calm Chloe down if not for the glare from Audrey. "YOU ARE THE SINGLE WORST MOTHER I HAVE EVER MET! MAYBE IF YOU STOPPED TRYING TO GET MR. AGRESTE AFTER YOU ALREADY MARRIED DADDY, YOU'D HAVE TIME TO ACTUALLY THINK WITH THAT EMPTY BRAIN OF YOURS! CLEARLY HE SEES WHAT DADDY COULDN'T: YOUR UNDESIRABLE, UNHINGED, ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS NARCISSISM AND EGO!" The girl's mother growled in response, her own anger rising.
"I will not be judged by a tasteless little girl. You are this close to being fired!" Chloe gritted her teeth as she hugged her stomach, her shoulder slightly acting up.
"FINE! FIRE ME AND SEND ME HOME! I SWEAR THE ONLY REASON YOU HAD ME WAS JUST TO BE SOME PUBLICITY STUNT! I AM UTTERLY DISGUSTED TO BE RELATED TO YOU!" Audrey began stomping over, some of her employees looking ready to jump in and stop the mess.
"YOU ARE GETTING OUT OF LINE! YOU AREN'T EVEN ON THE RIGHT LEVEL TO BE JUDGING ME!" Chloe swung her arm to the side as she growled.
"AT LEAST I CAN REMEMBER MORE THAN TWO PEOPLE'S NAMES! YOU HAVE THE BRAIN POWER OF A CHILD, SO FOCUSED ON YOUR OBSESSION THAT YOU IGNORE WHAT YOU HAVE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL THAT MONSIEUR AGRESTE WILL NEVER BE WITH YOU! WHEN I GET HOME, I'M TELLING DADDY HOW YOU TREATED ME LIKE A SERVANT AND THEN WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE FUNDS HE SENDS YOU STOP FLOWING! MAYBE THEN YOU'LL ACTUALLY GROW UP LIKE THE REST OF US!"
The hidden hero began to stomp away in tears, only to have her wrist grabbed. She looked back, frightened as she saw her mother's raised hand. The employees looked like they were about to jump in as the limb began to swing.
"YOU DISGRACEFUL BRAT!" Chloe closed her eyes in preparation for the hit, expecting to have the same experience Marinette had many months ago. A resounding slap filled the room, though there was no pain anywhere on her body.
"That's far enough," growled a voice she remembered well. She opened her eyes, the orbs widening as she saw Jack's arm blocked the hit meant for her face. The boy grabbed Audrey's hand, removing it from Chloe's arm as he growled. "I let Chlo have a chance to handle you, but now it's my turn." He let Audrey's arm go, the woman growling as she sent an evil glare his way.
"Um, who let the pilot reject in my office? Call security to have him removed." Jack pulled out a phone, quickly dialing a number.
"Oh security's coming alright." He held the device up to his ear, putting on his evil smile. "Hey John, it's Jack. I need security up here five minutes ago to escort Audrey Bourgeois out of the building… Let's just say the slap on my arm and the verbal abuse you'll hear on the security footage will be plenty enough reason to NEVER let her in this building ever again."
Chloe saw her mother's anger begin to boil again as Jack continued. "Oh don't worry about calling Mom. I'm about to call her myself. Good." He hung up the call before quickly typing in another number.
The boy gestured for Chloe to come closer, the girl slowly doing as instructed. Jack pulled up a video call, a woman with long red hair and the same toned skin as him being seen on the other side. The woman sighed as she had a bored look on her face.
"Jack, I ordered more Root Beer for you yesterday," sighed the woman as she had the device close to her ear. She looked towards the screen, bringing the device more in line with her face as she gasped. "I didn't realize this was a video call! Warn a woman next time!" Audrey leaned back a bit, visibly terrified.
"Sh…Sharon!" gasped the designer. "How did you-?" Jack ignored Audrey as his evil smile was still present.
"Sorry Mom!" apologized the boy. "I just wanted to give you a call since I have some important things to discuss." His mother looked over what she could see of him, slowly smiling as she nodded her head.
"Look at you all dressed up. I thought you'd be in that lab coat for all your life. What's the occasion? Last I heard you were off to Jump City." Jack's smile became more genuine as he turned the camera a bit.
"Well I figured you'd wanna say hi to an old friend. You remember Chloe, right?" His mother sighed as she nodded her head.
"Oh I remember your little sweetheart! You constantly asked your father for spare parts so you could make her all those fun toys. I remember sitting you down when you talked about wanting to make her a ring. You were devastated when we told you to slow down." Jack blushed in embarrassment as he looked away while laughing.
"Yeah, that Chloe, who happens to be right here. Maybe don't say embarrassing things, PLEASE!" Chloe waved nervously as the woman gasped, watching a smile grow on her face.
"Oh my gosh! I haven't seen you since you and Jack were six! You look so beautiful! The black and yellow just screams exciting." Chloe blushed at the praise, playing with her hair a bit.
"Th-thank you, Mrs. Spicer," replied the blonde. "It's nice to see you." Jack's mother chuckled at the nervousness, shaking her head.
"Now Chloe, I know it's been a few years but you can still call me Sharon. With how often Jack would bring you over or beg us to have your parents at our parties, you're practically part of the family. I've been able to talk with your mother but I hadn't heard anything from you or your father. How is everything?" Chloe frowned as she looked down, only for Jack to have a more serious frown on his face.
"Yeah, that's the other thing I need to talk with you about," stated the redheaded boy. "I'm gonna need you to cancel any future events when it comes to Mrs. Bourgeois's fashion shows, as well as letting you know about a permanent ban that the office is about to put on her." Audrey's look of panic grew more and more angry as Sharon's eyes narrowed.
"Jack, what's going on? I know you and Audrey have never seen eye to eye but this is new." Jack prepared the bombshell as he shook his head.
"You and Dad should be receiving the footage from John, but Mrs. Bourgeois has been treating Chloe horribly the whole time she's been in the States. I came in to find Chloe finally standing up for herself right before her mother was about to hit her." The boy could see the anger beginning to well up in his mother, knowing that her usually long fuse was beginning to reach the point of no return.
"I see. And pray tell, who stopped her before she could hurt her own child?" Audrey gritted her teeth as she stomped her foot, her sunglasses becoming skewed as her eyes narrowed.
"YOU BRAT!" roared the designer. "YOU WILL HANG UP THAT PHONE RIGHT NOW OR YOU'RE FIRED! I WILL HAVE YOU SUED FOR DEFAMATION AND WILL NEVER MAKE IT ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! MARK MY WORDS!" Jack hid his evil smirk very well as his mother's brow began to twitch.
"Audrey… WHAT. DID. YOU. DO?" Jack finally got his arm into view, showing the now red mark on it.
"Well I couldn't help myself when Chloe was in danger, just like old times," admitted the genius. "I don't think this is going away any time soon. She then called me a reject and tried to have security come and escort me out of the building." The employees in the room began to back up as Jack's phone began to shake a bit, the machine whirring from the pressure that was being put on it. The boy knew he had won when his mother had her rarely seen "dangerous smile" on her face.
"Jackson, please turn the phone around. I need to 'voice' my displeasure directly." Jack began to turn the device as he leaned towards Chloe.
"Cover your ears. This is gonna hurt." Chloe did just as instructed, already feeling the pressure as she saw the nervous look on her mother's face.
"AUDREY!" The speaker of the phone screeched from the volume of the outcry, the workers in the room needing to cover their ears. Mrs. Bourgeois held her hands together as she tried to save face, something Chloe had never seen her mother do before.
"SHARI-DOLL!" cheered the nervous woman. "It's pleasant to see you, utterly pleasant. I'm sorry to say but Jaque is trying to spin a tale. I could always recommend a boarding school for-" Sharon Spicer was not having it as her face almost became as red as her hair.
"HIS NAME IS JACK, YOU WITCH! HOW DARE YOU STRIKE MY CHILD, IN THE PROCESS OF STRIKING YOUR OWN AT THAT!? WHAT KIND OF A PARENT ARE YOU!? THIS LEVEL OF FOOLISHNESS IS NOT ALLOWED ANYWHERE NEAR ONE OF THE FAMILY ESTABLISHMENTS!" Audrey grew defensive as she moved closer, her hands shaking in both fear and rage.
"Sharleen, you've got the wrong idea. He was-" Jack felt his phone vibrate as if he were getting a call, his mother's legendary temper practically shining through the phone.
"IT'S SHARON! I EVEN SAID IT OVER THE- Oh my gosh. What is that monstrosity I see? Please tell me that's not for the show tonight."
Jack moved the phone a bit higher, revealing the dress Audrey was working on. "That orange does not go with that blue. It looks like a traffic cone and a couch had a baby. Words cannot describe how ugly it is." The designer clenched her fists, still trying to recover the situation.
"That…that dress was all Moey's idea! I couldn't ignore Doey's adorable face when she begged me to make it and-" Jack had to juggle his phone as it nearly vibrated out of his hands, holding it tighter as he kept his mother facing the designer.
"YOU DON'T EVEN REMEMBER YOUR OWN CHILD'S-" Sharon took a deep breath, a cold fury forming on her face. "You know what? I am canceling EVERY scheduled show tied to one of our buildings. I'm calling our business partners and having them cancel as well." Audrey tried to reach out for the phone, Jack stepping back to dodge her advance.
"Maron, think about what you're doing! No one brings in customers like me! I AM your business! You need me!" Sharon scoffed as she looked away.
"There are plenty of other creators that I would love to work with over you. This discussion is over, and Andre will be receiving a call from Armond when he gets home." Jack turned the phone around, smiling smugly as his mother had a happy smile on her face. "It was wonderful seeing you again, Chloe. Maybe next time I talk with you, you and Jack will have a little date planned."
Jack hid his embarrassment as he let his mother hang up, huffing as he shoved the phone in his pocket. He immediately brought his arm up to protect Chloe again as her mother's sunglasses fell onto the floor. Audrey screamed like a woman possessed as she threw her hat to the ground.
"YOU LITTLE FREAK! I'LL SHOW YOU TO ATTACK MY CAREER!" Jack began guiding Chloe back as the woman approached, the door to the room being kicked open as two guards entered the room.
"Ma'am, you're coming with us," growled one of the men. Audrey found herself being grabbed with her hands behind her back as she began snarling in anger. "We've got a fighter!" The woman's heels screeched against the ground as she tried to fight her way out of the hold, her eyes solely focused on Jack. Her hair looked like a total mess the more she threw her head around.
"YOU'RE FIRED! ALL OF YOU ARE FIRED! I'LL SUE YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU OWN! GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME, YOU GOONS! I'LL CALL THE POLICE!"
The woman's screaming grew quieter and quieter as the guards carried her down the stairs. The people in the office looked both relieved and panicked, relieved that the conflict was over but panicked that they would likely be out of a job. Jack rubbed the spot on his arm before nodding to the people.
"Listen up, people!" cried the redhead. "If you're worried about finding a new job, ask for Frank downstairs! He's with the family talent agency and he'll be more than happy to help you out. Have one person ask John which room Frank's in and he'll help you from there. Now, grab your stuff and vacate the room!"
The workers began to file out, many of them apologizing to Chloe as the room became emptier and emptier. The blonde looked towards Jack in amazement, also having a concerned frown on her face. She looked the boy over as he looked her way.
"Jack, you didn't have to do all of that," scolded the blonde. "I could have told Daddy all about it, even if I don't know whose side he'd take." Jack smiled as he shook his head.
"What did I tell you all those years ago? No one gets to mess with you, not even me. I may not be some big hero, but I'm happy to be your Black Knight if it means you're safe. You're the only thing keeping me from giving up on the world and making a doomsday machine or something. You're my treasure."
Chloe slowly began to smile as the redhead began clearing his throat again, a nervous look on his face. "So… are you… seeing anyone? I mean… would you like to get lunch or… MAN UP, JACK!" The blonde girl draped her arms over the boy's shoulders, earning a confused look from him.
"You know, Mother is likely going to be dealing with the police for a while. My hotel room is about to be rather lonely~." Jack furrowed his brow at this, being rather confused.
"Um… What does that have to do with-" Chloe suddenly stole a kiss from the redhead, hugging her lips to his. Her tongue danced around his, the boy leaning into the embrace as he shakily placed his hands on her hips. She only let him get used to it for a moment before she pulled back, a small grin on her face.
"Here's the scene. The villain has taken over the princess's kingdom and has the princess as his bride. He can do anything he wants with her, anything, and no one can stop him? Little does he know that she might be totally into it. So, Jack, what. will. you. do?

And that's another chapter done and over with! Wuya and Jack arrived in Jump City looking for a Shen Gong Wu. One went away empty handed while the other earned everything he ever wanted. I bet none of you were expecting Chloe X Jack Spicer, huh? That was something I wanted to set up and try, so I hope I did Jack justice. With the Guild Karaoke Party on the way, anything could happen.
What did you guys think of the chapter? Did you like Jack's little redemption moment and his relationship with Chloe? Will Omi get out of the trouble he caused? Was Audrey Bourgeois' punishment satisfying? Will Jack's turn from evil last?
Let me know what you think down below and I'll try to get back with you ASAP. Also, let me know what songs you think will be played in the guild's Karaoke night and who will sing what. I'll take serious and funny ideas as this is supposed to be a fun little thing. You never know what will be chosen. Until next time, this is Inkaliber, signing out.
