After the tense class with Carmilla, Vaggie and I were walking through the college hallways, discussing Eric's childish behavior.
"That damn kid, he's a damn spoiled brat who doesn't know when to shut up!" Vaggie exclaimed furiously, a bit of palpable frustration was evident in her voice. "Who does he think he is to challenge Professor Carmilla like that?"
I just nodded my head, she was worried about the impact the incident might have on Carmilla's impeccable reputation. "I hope this doesn't cause problems for her at university. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for her to face students like that."
Meanwhile, in her office, Carmilla reflected on the confrontation with Eric. Despite his calm appearance, his insolence had ignited a spark of anger inside her. She wondered how someone so defiant could have been admitted to the prestigious Pentagram University.
Suddenly, there was a soft knock on her office door. "Come in," Carmilla ordered, straightening in her chair as she prepared to greet whoever she was.
The door opened carefully, I walked in timidly, closely followed by Vaggie. "Professor Carmine, can we talk for a moment?" I asked, with a worried expression on my face.
Carmilla nodded, motioning for us to sit across from her desk. "Of course, Charlie. What can I do for you?"
I took a few seconds to collect my thoughts before speaking. "We wanted to make sure you're okay after what happened in class today. We don't want something like that to cause problems for you at the university."
Carmilla smiled softly, acknowledging the worried look. "I appreciate your concern, but don't worry about me. I've faced bigger challenges than today."
Vaggie nodded, but her gaze was still skeptical. "Still, we don't think it's fair that he has to deal with disrespectful students like Eric Johnson. Isn't there something that can be done about that?"
Carmilla considered the question for a moment before answering. "Unfortunately, challenges are an inevitable part of university life. But I trust that the administration will take appropriate action if necessary. In the meantime, the best we can do is focus on our work and move forward."
We just nodded, feeling comforted by Carmilla's words. After a few more moments of conversation, we got up to leave for our next class.
"Thank you for talking to us, Professor," I said with gratitude in my voice. "We are always here if you need anything."
Carmilla smiled, grateful for our support. "Thank you, girls. It means a lot to me."
With that, we left Carmilla's office, leaving her alone with her thoughts once again. Despite the challenges she faced in college, she felt comforted by our support, and we knew that together we could overcome any obstacle that stood in our way.
