In the late 1980's, a young Scott Summers, newly escaped from a lab run by Natalie Essex, finds himself forced into the beginning of a struggle he never wanted to be a part of and must unravel a conspiracy on the Island of Genosha, running afoul of infamous X-Men foes and friends for the first time ever, and finding himself in a deadly struggle with his chief tormenter...

This story is long winded and as yet unfinished, but I like it. Tension is everything! Making up my own backstory for how Rogue and Gambit fell in love in the face of increasing danger for the Xmen team. I'm not following a particular universe, snatching pieces and making up the rest. The first few chapters are old and choppy, but it hits it's stride around chapter 8. Enjoy!
