It had been a month and Leader was stuck to a wall via Rusty's extended arm. Crosshairs from Rusty's screen lock on to Leader's head.
"Terminate." Rusty said, prepared a flying fist and launched it in tried to attack Leader.
However, the servos whirs and the fist stalled just as it was about to hit Leader's head. While Rusty shook, behind her was Nine typing on the keypad. The screen showed Rusty's status, in which they all turn green.
"Now paired." the computer said and he picked up his scanner and configured it. Then Rebel came in and took out a robot behind him and he aimed his scanner. The light on Rusty's eye turned yellow.
"New admin privileges, colon, backslash, backslash, affirmative, now paired." Rusty said.
At Yoke HQ a ringing tone played on Don't's gadget as the Chaos Council looked at the screen.
"Huh? "Paired"? What does she mean, "paired"?" Eggman asked.
Back at New Yoke City.
"Amy, are you... you?" Leader asked.
"No, she's still a Chaos Council tool of destruction." Nine said and a battle involving Rebel was going on behind him. "Lucky for you, I'm in control of the robot now. You're welcome. Attack!" he said and Rusty dropped Leader causing her to fall and prepared for combat.
A swarm of Eggforcers stream in past the door. She double-armed one robot, somersaults and landed a handstand in between the rest of them. Then she stretched her legs out wide and twirled them around like a propeller, knocking out the other robots.
At Yoke HQ.
"What in the name of omelets have they done with Rusty? To the security room!" Done-It said and clenched his fist in annoyance.
The rest of the Council race towards the security room along with some Eggforcers, while Done-It slowly walked and mumbled alone with his walking stick towards the security room. Rusty pushed down a rising platform full of Eggforcers, landing with a crash.
Meanwhile the Council made a right turn and enter the room. Eggman moved the baby out of the way and uploaded the footage on the screen. They saw a platform burst into flames, the same one from which they deployed their Eggforcers, and a rising Rusty, showing an intimidating look with extended legs. Leader was holding her breath with a laser cutting towards her.
"Whoa...!" Leader said, saw it and ducked in the nick of time.
Meanwhile, Done-It made it to the entrance of the security room.
"Tell ya what, if I had my..." he said and the laser from a virtual view cut everything as it travels around in a circle, including another swarm of Eggforcers just as they walk past the door.
"Rusty Rose, close that door." Nine said and Rusty clanged another group of Eggforcers and somersaults her way to the door.
With all her might, she closed the large door when Renegade appeared.
"Uh... she's with us now?" Renegade said.
"Duh!" Nine said and the Council screamed.
Rusty punched and broke a code system by the side of the door when Leader appeared, grabbing Renegade, Rebel, Rusty and Nine together in a group hug.
"We did it! Bring it in, fam!" Leader said and they hugged.
Then the laser came towards her and the rest of the team and they duck to dodge it.
The laser came towards Leader along with Rebel and Renegade who dodged.
"Will someone please stop this laser?" Renegade asked.
He was worried about Leader and the baby. He had tried to get her to relax and let him take the lead like the Infinite war but she said no.
He had stuck by her side ever since she found out she was pregnant and everyone was worried.
The laser came towards Leader along with Rebel, Renegade and Rusty. They dodged, including Leader, who showed an annoyed look beforehand.
They were startled by a heavy pounding in the distance a looked to where the pounding's coming from, except for Nine, who ran towards the door in the opposite direction.
"This way, or you're finished." Nine said and typed in the security code for that door.
The pounding door opened, revealing another swarm of Eggforcers, but at the same time, the laser cut across and defeated all of them, to the council's dismay. A Sprite of a laughing Nine appeared on the security room's main screen.
"You've been hacked by Nine." Nine said and the Council all gasped.
"Gah! Patch us into all the badniks for visuals. FIND THEM! Dr. Deep, we can't let them escape!" Eggman said.
"Totes. So gonna destroy." Deep said, laughed and left the security room.
At Yoke HQ Deep prepared his samurai-style mech-suit and showed off his dance-moves, along with two look-a-like Eggforcers either side copying his motions, which was also being viewed by the Council.
"Deep, grow up! And your dance moves stink." Eggman said angrily and slammed his fist on the desk. "Find them!"
Then Leader and her team walked in and she ran to the right.
"Baddies this way." she said and ran to the left. "Baddies that way." she said returning to her team. "They're coming from both sides."
The door opened ahead of them and they ran past it. Two of the Eggforcers collide with one another as they approach each other. Renegade noticed shooting coming from behind so turned and approached a wall of downed Eggforcers, pulling off one's parts, before dropping it and running with the crew.
"Come on, gotta get out of here." he said and kept running past Nine.
"Wait, stop. We shouldn't be trying to escape." Nine said.
"What are you talking about? There's robots after us." Renegade said and stopped as Nine jumped in-front of him.
"We get our hands on their energy crystal, we shut down their entire operation…"
"...and take back our world." Rebel said and Leader ran to cut the argument between Nine and Renegade.
"Sure." Nine said and they saw blasters firing through the gap in the door.
"If I can get it, maybe I can change it all back. Rusty, where is it?" Leader said.
"Rusty Rose. Do not have clearance to the subsectors of the core." Rusty said and Leader laughed.
"Subsectors? I can make my own clearance."
Blasters fire at them, causing both Leader and Nine to duck and brace themselves. They looked back to see another two swarms of Eggforcers approach them, the latter breaking another door open in the process. Leader and the team lean onto the wall for cover.
Nine, Rebel and Renegade were dodging weapon-fire and came with Leader and escape to the top of the stairway, with the former continuing to shoot away.
"Come on, guys. Together, we're gonna fix the world." Leader said, jumped into a star-pose and fell down the middle of the long staircase, followed by a dive, with the rest of the team following her.
Eggforcers emerged from one of the doors and saw her falling down. The falling members appear on the Council's monitor.
"Aha!" Eggman said and Leader spun in mid-air and waited in boredom, until she was grabbed in the body by a hand, level with where the Eggforcers were marching down the staircase.
Then Leader was slammed into the wall and fell to the floor.
"Ow!" she said and groaned while holding her stomach.
"Prepare to be amazed, then deceased, by the one and only Dr. Deep." Deep said and look-a-like Eggforcers dropped in beside him ready for combat.
"Oh for Christ sake!" she said, ducked and braced herself from a laser attack.
The rest of Leader's team was falling behind Deep. Nine Ninja roped back up, followed by Rebel. Renegade defeated an Eggforcer to the left while Rusty used her extended arms to latch onto the edges of the staircase. Using her upwards momentum, she punched and took on one of Deep's Eggforcers. After dodging an attack, she used a combo of punched to weaken it. Rebel dove into the other of Deep's Eggforcers and tossed it into a group of Eggforcers walking down the steps. As soon as the white robot recovered, she kicked it and kept battling. Leader took on Deep. As soon as Deep slammed his buzzsaws down, she snuck him from behind and kicked him, knocking him down. Infuriated, he kept trying to attack her with his Buzzsaws, while she dodged every attack. He punched the wall with the Buzzsaw, while she spin jumped to dodge it and land on top of it, spinning it around with glee. She jumped out of the way again.
Meanwhile, Nine kept shooting Eggforcers. One Eggforcer hit Rusty, but she rebounded off the wall to knock it back. Rebel was hit by an uprising Eggforcer but Renegade, from above, punched the robot back down, freeing her. Leader stared at her current enemy, peeled out and tried some Homing Attacks, with Deep using the Buzzsaws to block it. She dodged the sword, ran in behind and jumped; but got struck by Deep's buzzsaw, sending her flying, with the swords jabbed into the wall either side of her. Rusty was tagged from behind by the white Eggforcer and combats the regular ones; getting hit again by Deep's robot until Rebel glided into it, picked it up and dropped it down the middle of the long staircase. Renegade tossed one Eggforcer into the wall and another down the abyss while on a level lower, Nine shot another three Eggforcers before flying back up with his tails. With Leader cornered by Deep, Nine Ninja-rope and pulled an Eggforcer, but was grabbed by another hand. With Deep distracted, Leader broke free and Spin Attacked him, knocking him down and landing on top of him while preparing for the next danger. A view of the action appears on the screen, only for Leader to charge a flying punch at it, defeating the Eggforcer. The Council gasped in horror.
Then Leader Homing Attacked Deep with a direct hit and delivered the final few blows sending him flying, colliding with his own ally robots.
"Thanks for the save. High five!" she said to Nine and high fived.
"Divert more energy from the crystal to the pods immediately!" Eggman said to Don't who raised a bar on his gadget to maximum.
The Eggforcers we upgraded with a power-up effect shown on the screen. They confront Leader and her team again. The Eggforcers punch the team blow after blow. Eggman laughed in excitement, as his robots kept mauling Leader's team.
"Yes!" he said and punched the air.
Done-It slept and Don't played games, while the robots kept their onslaught. The exhausted team reunite.
"Spin-dash?" Renegade asked and Leader curled into a spinning ball in front of them.
She spin dashed into and defeated multiple Eggforcers at high speed, annoying Eggman.
"Ah, coconuts!" Eggman said and Leader returned to Renegade.
"You're up!" Leader said.
"OK." Renegade said so she spun and tossed him into another group of Eggforcers.
Nine was up next so she held him.
"You too." she said and tossed the ball of Nine into another swarm of Eggforcers.
Lines of Blue, yellow and red auras appeared from a bird's eye view at the middle of the staircase. The battle with the Eggforcers continued, with Rebel dodging cannon-fire and taking out one robot. Rusty dropped down and pushed an Eggforcer with her. Another Eggforcer landed by Leader's feet and started attacking. She dodged a downward arm attack and stepped behind it. Then she Spin Attacked it and grinned it down the barricade of the stairway. She jumped and Homing Attacks another robot on top of a mountain of robot scrap along with Rusty and Renegade.
"What kind of budget are these guys working with?" Leader whispered as Renegade dove into the robot scrap and started digging.
"We're at the sub level. Where's the exit?" Nine said and heard a thud.
"Found it!" Renegade said.
The Council looked at the mountain of Robot scrap with Leader's Team on their monitor escaping.
"We lost them!" Eggman said and slammed his fist on the desk. "Wake up, Dr. Deep. Find those rebels!" he said and Deep grunted and cleared a few robot parts that landed on top of him, including a robot hand that was pinching his shoulder.
"Ohh!" Deep said.
Then Renegade kicked a robot part.
Leader and her team set off, but Nine, struggling to catch up, noticed a left turn and stopped.
"Stop, it's that way." Nine said and they gathered around.
"Well, how do you know?" Leader asked.
"She's connected to the prism energy, and thanks to my handiwork, her shoes are picking up on the energy's signature."
"He's right. It's like they're calling out to it." Leader said then a crash was heard and Nine notices this.
"Uh..." he said and Deep returned, with his swarm of white Eggforcers.
"I'm going to origami that hedgehog!" Deep said and pointed his sword forward. "Find them!" he said and his robots moved on ahead.
Nine is pointing to the right direction in urge.
"Come on, let's go." Nine said pointing to the right direction in urge and the others followed him.
While the Eggforcers flew forward, Deep saw his enemies over on his left and stopped.
"Huh?" he said and observed the scenario. "They're headed for the core. They're headed for the core!" he said. "Guys, guys, guys!" he shouted jumping up and down.
Then he was shunted to the wall repeatedly by a chain of Eggforcers making the turn, grunting and groaning. Then he was shunted to the wall on the other side by another chain of Eggforcers making the turn from the opposite side, grunting and groaning. As soon as he recovered, he was bashed on the back and knocked to the ground by another Eggforcer.
Meanwhile Leader's crew was under attack, but Nine saw and pointed at something ahead of him.
"That's gotta be it." he said.
Along the long corridor was the security door. Eggman observed the activity and was angry and despaired.
"Shut it down! Shut it down! Close all corridors!" he exclaimed and groaned
The doors started to close in-front of Nine's view.
"They're shutting the doors! Hurry!" Nine said.
While blasters kept firing, Rusty stepped into the gap between the first door and blocked both sides, allowing the rest of the team to run past. Renegade lifted up a canister and wedged open the second door. After he and Rusty made it through, Nine kicked the canister behind him, closing the door and trapping the Eggforcers and Deep behind him.
"Open the doors! Open the doors!" Deep said.
Then the doors open once again and a large swarm of Eggforcers walk through and kept shooting. The team hid in safe places, except for Renegade and Leader.
"I guess dreams don't come true." Renegade said.
"Aw, come on. You don't believe that, do you?" Leader said, winced and held her stomach for a second.
"Well, prove me wrong." he said, lifted up another canister and tossed it in the air blocking blaster fire.
Leader saw this and seized her chance, showing a determined look. With cannon-fire everywhere, she ran, slid underneath and jumped over it, twirling as she did so. She spin jumped towards the canister, propelled and rode it forward with her legs, intercepting blaster-fire along the way. More and more burn marks appear on the canister as she kept driving it forwards. Rebel, Renegade and Nine's jaws drop in amazement. With the Eggforcers approaching them, Leader spin dashed the canister into the group of Eggforcers, sending them all flying in a heap backwards. The heap hurled towards Deep, who got up and saw a large metallic 'boulder' flying towards him.
"Ohh. Aah!" he screamed and tried to brace himself with his glove, but the 'boulder' slammed into him, and the canister exploded a hole in Yoke HQ, sending him out along with his Eggforcers and falling from a great height.
The residents watch the falling robots crash down to the ground.
"That's her... the blue hedgehog!" Denizen male said and pointed up.
There was a break in Yoke HQ, where Leader looked at them, standing on top of a pile of robot scrap. She turned back along the corridor, only to be confronted by Babble's robot and more Eggforcers. Babble babbled angrily and slammed on his controls and Leader stopped as soon as she saw it.
"Enough with the baby. Give me the old man for once." she said and groaned in annoyance.
Then a swarm of Eggforcers confront the rest of her team.
'Shit!' she thought.
"Nine, how we doing over there?" she asked.
Meanwhile Nine was busy tinkering with the security door's code, becoming more frustrated.
"I need more time." Nine said.
"Hey, it's me you want. Come and get me." she said to Babble angrily and Babbles babbled.
As she ran away, he and his Eggforcers went after her. Rusty, guarding Nine, kicked one Eggforcer and punched another. The baby babbled angrily and chased Leader towards the open hole.
"Who wants to play follow the leader? Cannonball!" Leader said, spin jumped through the hole and fell down holding her stomach.
Babble instructed the Eggforcers to dive down and go after her. She smirked and ran along a rail.
"What do you say? Once around the park?" she asked and the Eggforcers fire at her.
She jumped just before the tunnel, luring one Eggforcer to crash into the wall. Then she jumped over a hand attack from another Eggforcer and passed Denizen 1998 going fishing with his rod. As soon as Leader reached the cylindrical tunnel, she jumped onto the cylinder and spin dashed around it, breaking more chasing Eggforcers. She jumped over an obstacle, and then hopped onto a train heading opposite, spin jumping from carriage to carriage and defeating more Eggforcers. The robots stopped and Babble blabbered his robots to charge in the opposite direction. Leader was then seen running forwards again, Spinning around the rail and knocking a few Eggforcers along with Babble's mech suit, sending him to a spin, followed by a furious scream. While the rest of Leader's crew took on more Eggforcers, Babble's pursuit of Leader continued. He used his right arm to fire blasters at her, which she dodged. Then he pressed the yellow corner button on his robot and went for a fist attack. She jumped up to dodge that attack, but was punched with the left fist by Babble's robot, sending her somersaulting in mid-air and screaming.
Luckily, she landed back on the rail and carried on running to see his robot on the other side. She dodged a standing fist attack. With Babble chasing her, the baby retracted his weapon. She then did a Super Peel Out and zoomed along the rail. A loop later, she was running behind the robots she's after.
She spin dashed along the rail, homing attacking the line of Eggforcers and causing them all to fall and break in a heap onto the road. She tapped Babble's robot, but he held on to the rail and got back up. He screamed as they charge at each other. Leader did three Homing Attacks to knock him off, crashing it onto the heap of Eggforcers. She landed back on the rail, watching him cry and thrash about in a tantrum.
Then she smirked.
Suddenly, a distant rumble was heard and she looked back.
She ran along the rail, meeting Denizen 1998 fishing into a safe then jumped towards Yoke HQ.
At the end of the corridor, Nine clattered the keys on the security door and there was a beep sounds.
"I got it, we're in." Nine said and the security doors open up.
Leader made it through the gap in the door wedged open by a broken robot part, and met the team.
"Sonic, we didn't think you'd make it back. Are you okay?" Nine said.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Leader said holding her stomach and panting.
"Come on, let's go."
"Yeah, I thought you'd be flatter than a snake's belly." Renegade said worried while she winced.
Then he, Rebel and Rusty were grabbed by a robot's hand and Leader turned back.
"Whoa!" she said.
"Need a job done right, do it yourself. Step away from the core, or your friends are toast." Eggman said wearing his robotic mech-suit.
Suddenly the doors started closing in front of him. They completely shut as he nearly made it to the doorway. Leader tried to push the doors back open, but Nine restrained her.
"Sonic, we have to get to the core!" Nine said.
"No! I've got to help my friends." Leader said trying to restrain him.
Then Rusty punched the mech in the head, breaking herself and her team-mates free.
"Ahh!" Deep said.
Rebel glided into it, only to get swatted away by Deep's left arm, banging into the closed door.
"Leader, go. You have to get to the Paradox Prism, or it'll all be for nothing." she said through the door and resumed battling.
"You heard her. Come on." Nine said to Leader then walked on alone, leaving Leader frustrated.
She stayed there, touched the door and looked at it miserably.
Meanwhile, Nine was running along the bridge prompting Leader to come with him.
"Come on!" he said and she finally let go of the door and walked away from it.
Then she noticed something up ahead.
"Wait. Is that...?" she said, ran, caught up to him and they approach the Shard Generator. "It's the Paradox Prism."
Then a thud sounded followed by another heavy thud sound and they notice it. The mech got its hands wedged on the door, trying to open it; to Sonic, angry.
"Grab that chart!" Nine said.
Then the mech peeped his face through the gap, threatening to open the door.
Leader put her hand close to the shard, nervously. Eventually, he touched it, with energy crackling in electric sparks. His hand was then attracted to the shard, generating copious levels of energy and causing Nine to panic.
"Sonic, what's happening?" he asked and she realized she can't break free.
She tried to pull herself away from the shard.
"Nine! Nine!" Leader grunted and screamed as the shard pulled her wholeself in.
"Sonic!" he said shocked and the shard stopped generating, with him looking solely at the shard in misery. "Sonic, where are you? Sonic!" he said. "Sonic?" he said. "Sonic?" he whispered.
Meanwhile Leader shut her eyes tight, raised her hand and forced on every bit of Chaos she had left.
"Chaos…" she said and focused even more. "CONTROL!" she yelled and suddenly was back with Nine on her back unconscious.
"SONIC!" Nine yelled and flew over to her.
Then he felt for a pulse and sighed in relief.
"Thank God." he said then it hit him. "She can Chaos Control like Shadow."
Then he picked her up, twirled his tails and flew to HQ.
When he got there he saw Rebel and Renegade.
"What happened?" Renegade asked.
"She, she can Chaos Control without a Chaos Emerald!" Nine said.
"WHAT?!" Renegade and Rebel said in shock.
"She tried to get the Shard and then disappeared! Then suddenly she was back and on her back!" he said fighting tears.
Then they got to work looking after Leader.
Suddenly they saw blood going down and looked at each other knowing what it's from.
"Oh no." they said and sped up.
A few hours later Sonic groaned and slowly opened her eyes.
"What the hell happened?" she said and saw Knuckles sitting there worried.
"Sonic?" he said and she looked at him.
"Knuckles? What happened?"
"You were hit by the Shard and disappeared. Then you somehow Chaos Controlled and came back."
Then she remembered, looked at her stomach and saw her small bump gone.
"I lost it, didn't I?" she said and he nodded.
"Tails did everything he could to stop it but there was too much blood." he said gently. "I'm so sorry." he said shaking his head.
She shut her eyes and felt tears going down so he gently held her close.
"How did you Chaos Control without an Emerald?" he asked.
"I, I don't know." she said. "Maybe I always had it, maybe I got it after all the years of Super Sonic or maybe I got it when he captured me years ago when it was Sonic Underground."
