"How was your day?" Jake asked Lindsay when she got home. "Would you like to cook dinner or eat out tonight?"

Lindsay started crying, seeing how sweet Jake was being, made her hate herself for starting this lie.

Jake came over to her. "What's wrong?"

Lindsay shook her head and Jake noticed the marks on her arm.

"What happened?" he touched her gently.

"I went to see my ex husband to tell him about the baby."

"Did he hurt you?"

"He hates me, he wants me out of his life. I'm going back to New York. I'm sorry I came here." She was sorry she tricked Jake into getting her pregnant just to hurt Luke and Brooke. Seeing Karen's disappointment and Luke's anger wasn't what she wanted.

"I'm not sorry you came. I have loved getting to know you," Jake said.

"I thought my ex husband was the one but he hates me and his new girlfriend has a restraining order on me."

"I'm sorry, I can't understand how he could break your heart like that," Jake said.

"My life is in New York. I can't stay," she never wanted him to know the details of what happened at Brooke's.

"Lindsay, I think I'm falling in love with you. Isn't there some way we can work this out?" Jake asked, looking hurt.

After seeing Luke today, Lindsay realized how empty their marriage had been. Lindsay was sad it took falling for Jake to realize that she never loved Lucas and now she'd ruined her chances with him too.

"I'm sorry, this is for the best," she didn't want to live anymore if Jake hated her.

Luke walked out of work and found Lindsay waiting for him.

"I'm calling the police," he said.

"Don't. I'm leaving tonight for New York. I only came to tell you I lied about being pregnant. You walking out the door for Brooke crushed me. I guess you followed your heart. Tell Karen I'm sorry."

"Are you serious? What kind of sick mind makes that up?" Luke demanded.

"I've been a mess since you left I just wanted you back," Lindsay replied.

"You're really not pregnant?" Luke asked.

"I faked the whole thing to hurt you. I have to go make my flight," Lindsay hoped he would leave before she started crying.

"Alright. Don't miss your flight," he stared at her for a moment, before walking away. He was glad to be done with her games.

Brooke was waiting for him at home

"How was your first day back?" she asked.

"A little rough to be honest."

"I'm glad you're home. Did you miss me?"

"More than you know Brooke," he answered.

"I missed you too and so did your boys," she hugged him.

"I'm kind of dirty after working on cars all day," Luke laughed.

"It doesn't bother me," Brooke said pulling him toward her.

Luke wrapped his arms around her.

"I love having you in my arms," he told her wanting to hold on forever.

"Me too," Brooke said.

Luke bent to kiss her and Brooke responded kissing him deeply. It was one of the best kisses Luke could ever remember.

"You're it for me Brooke," Luke whispered, "I don't want to take what we have for granted. You and the boys are all I want in life. I'm sorry it took me so long to realize you were always meant to be my better half. I hope you can give us a chance."

Brooke nodded. "My heart is still broken over Julian but I can't deny what we have between us. I want to build our relationship slowly because I want to have forever with you."
